Work Text:

The waiting line is overflowing off the street as Namjoon peered outside of the widow’s curtain.

“Wow,” he exclaimed, in surprise. He knew his brand became even more popular these past two years, but didn't really know that many people would got up so early just to wait in line in front of his soon-grand opening store.

“What is it?” His co-designer, the true warrior of namjoon’s, asked.

“There’s a lot of people, Yoongi.” Namjoon said excitedly. Don’t get him wrong, he had seen as many people as now in every of his grand opening day, counted 10 times already, but it still felt surreal to him sometimes to have many people support what he loved to do.

“You’re just like Minnie and TaeTae.” Yoongi chuckled.

Namjoon suddenly stopped smiling. He frowned back at the window. The sudden change of mood made Yoongi quick to ask “what’s it?”. It wasn’t the first time Yoongi had a long nice talk with Namjoon.

“Yoon, the heat is too hot. Can you told the manager to pass down water and some snacks? Maybe we can cut the bow an hour earlier.” Namjoon closed the curtain back. He turned to look at Yoongi.

“Can do,” Yoongi breathed in relief. He thought Namjoon would have another meltdown or something.

They did it most of the time, giving free snacks to their waiting customers. It could’ve been one of the reasons why everyone like MONO. The owner behavior associated itself with the brand’s image. “But only after you finish your interview.”

“Right,” Namjoon said. He almost forgot about it. “When will the reporter come?”

“Their teams already are here. They’re adjusting their equipments.”

Actually, the interview was supposed to happen yesterday. However, there was a last minute problem, so the head of the reporter politely asked if they could do it an hour or two before the grand opening. It wouldn’t be longer than 30 minutes.

“Namjoon,” Hoseok clapped his shoulder. “The report asked if you’re ready.”

“Oh yeah, I am. Can you and Yoongi prepare for the opening? We will do it as soon as I finish.” Namjoon explained what he wanted to happen. He was worried for all his clothes’ brand supporters.

“Sure thing,” Hosoek winked at Namjoon as he went to find the interviewer or her manager.

“Hello,” Namjoon greeted the journalist’s team at the left corner area to the left of the changing rooms. The interview would take place there.

“Ohh, Mr. Kim. Are you ready to start?” The lady, Jessie, asked him.

“Yes,” Namjoon took his seat at the assigned place.

The cameras were rolling. To the count of three, the record would be started.

“One, two, three, start.” The camera director called.

“Hello, everyone. This is Jessie. Guess who’re we going to go an interview with today?” Jessie looked cheerily straight at the camera.

The camera then turned toward Namjoon. Fake sound of applauding echoed inside the store.

“Hello, I am Kim Namjoon, the MONO clothes’ brand founder.” Namjoon bowed at the camera.

“We used to have an amazing interview together before, right,Mr. Kim?”

“Yes we did.” Namjoon said with a smile. She was a nice and respectful lady, that was why he accepted her request of interviewing him again. Their last interview went out well, beside that was also what helped MONO gained more and more customers.

“Today, we will ask Mr. Kim about what your supporters wanted to know about you.” Jessie flipped the paper. “We choose a few to ask.”

The camera zoomed in on Namjoon.

“Mr. Kim, many people beside having an interest on your passion and creative about clothes, they also wanted to know more about you as person. Would you mind sharing your story with us?”

“Of course, gladly.” Namjoon kept smiling. Truth to be told, the question already had sent to him since last week, he knew what those questions could be.

  The camera turned to Jessie.

“Okay, first question. Can you tell us more about yourself?”

“Sure thing.” Namjoon clapped his hands. “My name is Kim Namjoon. I was born in New York City, but moved back to South Korea at the age of 10 with my family. I moved back here again on my freshman year. I’m a married man, married to Kim Seokjin, my beautiful husband. We have a couple of sons, they are twin. My two best friends are Min Yoongi and Jung Hoseok, my co-creative designers and co-founders.”

“Interesting! Everyone has been curious about your husband. Can you tell us about his occupation?”

The camera turned back to Namjoon.

“Sure! Well, Seokjin works as a pediatric doctor at one of the private clinic.”

The camera zoomed back to fit both people in one frame.

“Next question, would mind sharing how you and your husband met? Everyone really wanted to know about you two interesting love story.”

Both interviewer and Namjoon laughed slightly.

“Well, we met when I was 10, 3rd grade. I just moved back from America, you know, with my family. My Korean wasn’t influenced at all. I was alone by myself at lunch, and on third day, some kids came to pick on me.” He nodded in appreciation when the host made a small noise of pity.

“Then Seokjin just came out of nowhere, scolding the bully’s off. He then turned to me asking if I wanted to sit with him and his friend. I agreed, and that was how I met Yoongi. We three became closer. We met Hoseok when we entered grade 4, and Hoseok was a new shy kid with the prettiest smile, of course after my Seokjin,” The host laughed, hand over her mouth. All the staffs smiled at the fond look on his face.

“Anyways, Seokjin decided to take Hoseok under his wings, so yeah, we went through everything together, primary, secondary and high school, we all stayed together. Until the last year of my high school, my parents passed away due to car accident.”

“My condolences to you.” Jessie bowed as Namjoon bowed back. “Thank you.”

“Was that also the year you moved back to America?” Jessie asked.

“Yes it was. I decided to come back to my grandparents, so I applied for a scholarship in fashion design major. Seokjin was the first among the three to apply in pediatric major along with me. Soon, Yoongi and Hoseok also applied too. We all got the scholarships.”

“Did the others three parents disagree for them to come to New York with you? The distance is far.” The host asked the next question.

“Yes, Seokjin’s. For Yoongi and Hoseok, both of them are hotheads, so if they wanted to do something, no one can stop them. For seokjin’s, they’ve known me my whole life. So, at the end, they allowed Seokjin to come with me if he got the scholarship.”

“May we ask when did you realize you’re in love with Seokjin?”Jessie added another question.

“When I was 15,” Namjoon chuckled lightly. “Or maybe since the beginning. Seokjin was, is and always will be my anchor. Through thick and thin and all the hardships, Seokjin was always there with me. Without his support, I don’t think I could come this far. He is my lifeline.”

“Who bit the bullet, and confessed?”

“More like drunk confession, it was from Seokjin. So when we started our freshman year, I got asked out by a girl in my class. I didn’t know what to do so I just accepted. Seokjin was so mad when I told him, and that was our first biggest fight among all the small or playful ones. He went out after our angry yelling, getting drunk alone. I thought he would crash at Yoongi and Hoseok’s place that night, but he came back all sobbing and drunk and yelled “stupid Namjoon. Why did you agree? I should have agreed to go out with that dude, not agonizing over loving you” at me. I smiled like an idiots for a whole night, and I confessed second in the morning, after making sure his headache was gone.”

“Awww, that was so sweet yet simple.” Jessie cooed, making Namjoon became more shyer. He knew he would have this shy reaction after he read through all the interview supposed questions.

“Okay, So when you got married, did anyone opposed?”

“You know, South Korea is working toward the positive mindset towards gays people. But, not Seokjin’s parents or my grandparents. They said they knew I would be the one for their son, and Seokjin is my grandparents’ favorite.” The host and Namjoon both laughed at Namjoon’s claim. “They love and support our relationship. People around me too. I’m so thankful for knowing all of them.”

“Last question.” Jessie said. “The audiences are really in love with your sons after all the cute and lovely Instagram posts from your husband account. Please tell us about them.”

“Gladly.” Namjoon answered toward the camera. “We adopted Jimin and Taehyung when they were only two months old. At that time, a worker at the orphanage which was nearby Seokjin’s workplace came in with the twin. They were underweight, and the lady told Seokjin their mom gave up on them just a week prior because she was just a university student, and she couldn’t afford to raise them at all. The lady also told Seokjin that if next week, there wouldn’t be any request on adopting the two, they would be send to another orphanage because there weren’t any rooms available for them.”

“I’m glad you two decided to adopt them. They must have a better life than in orphanage with the two best parents.”

Jessie praised.

“Oh, thank you, Jessie. We were glad to have Jimin and Taehyung as our sons too. They are the most cutest babies in the world.” The host agreed. “Anyways, Seokjin fell in love at those two at the first sight. So after he came back home, he immediately told me about them, all smiley and excited about wanted to adopt those two and wanted to give them a better life. We’d talked about adoption before as our careers were already steady, so you know it happened in 2016 and that was the time I opened the third branches in Chicago. The next morning, we visited the orphanage and filled out the adoption form.”

“The audience would love to hear about this. You and your partner surely are the best parents any child could ask for.” Jessie complimented again.

“You’re so kind, Jessie, thank you.”

“Anyways, our interview has to come to an end. Make sure to check out MONO new collection, and you can find out more about MONO and its main founder’ story on our channel. Thank you, everyone. Have a nice day.”

Namjoon and Jessie waved at the screen until the PD gave them a thumb up.

“Thank you, Jessie, for having me.” Namjoon bowed after he stood up.

“Oh no, I should be the one. Thank you for agreeing to share your personal life with us.” Jessie bowed back. “We will get going now.”

“Yes, once again, thank you, Jessie.” Then he turned to all the news staffs. “Thank you, everyone. Please drive back safely.”

Everyone echoed their goodbye back before Namjoon walked to the front to find the others two.

“Let’s cut the bow.” Namjoon said, making Yoongi and Hoseok jumped in startled from their conversations.

“Sure.” Yoongi said before he turned to Hoseok. “Babe, can you tell Andrew?”

“Will do.” Hosoek kissed Yoongi cheek and gave Namjoon a thumb up before walked to do his duty.

“I will fly back to New York as soon as we cut the bow.” Namjoon informed his best friend before pulled out his phone to book the ticket from California back to New York.

“What? How about your flight tomorrow? And we still have an after-party.” Yoongi whined. God, Seokjin would kill him. He didn’t want to be the receiving of Seokjin’s wrath from ruining his surprise.

“You two can handle it, right?” Namjoon turned all pouty and watery eyes at Yoongi. Every time, after he broke anything, he would turn like this toward Yoongi and asked him to help fixing the item. “After talking about Seokjin and my sons, I miss them so much. I want to see them as soon as possible.”

Yoongi sighed heavily. Hopefully, Seokjin already had his surprise ready before Namjoon arrived. If Namjoon left at this evening, there was only a flight at 7pm available, he would arrive around midnight. Let’s pray there was a delay.

“Alright, and stop pouting. You aren’t as cute as my godsons.” Yoongi hit him playfully.

All of sudden, he was pulled into Namjoon’s arms. “Wouldn’t have made it until today without you, bro.”

“Can you stop being all emotional?” Yoongi pouted, but Namjoon could tell he was about to cry from his trembling voice.

“Hey, stop hugging my babe. We have a store to open.” Hoseok came behind those two. He also was pulled into a group hug too.

“Thanks, Hobi.” Namjoon didn’t have to say anything else because Hoseok knew.

“I knew, bro.” Hoseok squeezed the two tightly before he let go. “We will cut the bow at 1:30pm.”

It took about half an hour for a speech, too. Great, Namjoon could help looking around for a while before he rode to the airport. His bag was just at the back of the store.

The event went well, they cut the bow, giving an gratitude thank to all their loyal customers, before the door opened, welcoming everyone to shop and look around.

“We made it,” Namjoon whispered softly. Then, Seokjin came into his mind. It made him all soft inside.

Yoongi just shook his head at his sappy look as he waved him and Hoseok goodbye.

“Come to my house for a dinner later.” And Namjoon was out of the door.

The flight were supposed to take only 6 hours, but due to delay, Namjoon arrived back at New York at 8 o’clock in the morning. The rode back to his house from the airport felt like a lifetime as all of his beings missed his love and sons so much. He couldn’t wait to see them.

He arrived around half an hour later, and after paying the taxi fee, Namjoon all but ran toward his front house, unlocked the gate with face scanning.

He inputed the passcode on the front censor door quickly. He walked as quietly as could toward the kitchen, knowing Seokjin would be there. Luckily, today was a national holiday, meaning he would be spending all the day with his beloveds.

Namjoon stopped in front of the kitchen entrance and smiled at the scene before him fondly. He was home.

“TaeTae-ah,” Seokjin woke his son up as Jimin already awake and was clinging to Seokjin. “Wake up, baby. Didn’t you say you want to make cake for daddy later?”

Taehyung stirred from his sleep. Last night, they discussed on what cake they should bake for their daddy’s achievement. Taehyung suggested a simple chocolate cake with their name written over the surface. Seokjin agreed.

Seokjin could have baked the cake alone without waking Taehyung up, but if he knew only Jimin who got to participate, he would be all pouty all day. Seokjin thought it was cute, but he didn’t want his baby to be upset.

  “Daddy home?” Taehyung asked.

“Not yet, baby. He would be around evening, so we better start our baking cake session soon.”

Seokjin could have wait to start at noon, but what if Namjoon arrived earlier than expected? He had another thing to put inside the cake as a surprise for his lover.

  “Okay,”

Seokjin put Jimin down. Jimin immediately grabbed Taehyung hand as they walked toward the bathroom to brush their teeth, with the help of Seokjin, of course.

They spent only three minutes doing the routine, then came out to have a chicken porridge as their breakfast.

The twin excitedly chattered about seeing their daddy soon after three days of not seeing, and what animals should they drew on the edge of the cake.

At 8 o’clock, they immediately got into an action. All the dangerous stuffs were already put above the twin reach, so everything in the refrigerator and cupboards were safe for the brothers to hold or grab or put into their mouth. After all, they were only three, and their teeth were itchy to chew.

“TaeTae, help papa mixes this floor and eggs?” Taehyung nodded. He asked to be lifted and sat on the counter before he started doing his task. “Minnie, help papa bring the chocolate chips, chocolate bars and chocolate source.”

Jimin, who was standing on the safe-for-children ladder to wash some fruits for the cake, climbed off to grab whatever his papa asked for.

Seokjin started heating the pan. He pulled of the kitchen drawer to look at his secret. He smiled to himself. He couldn’t wait to surprise Namjoon.

All of them continued with their task. Occasionally, Taehyung would ask if he mixed alright, and Jimin would ask how should he cut the fruit with his plastic knife.

Seokjin heard a code punch in while he put chocolate bar in the oven, but dismissing it because it could have been their neighbor house and it echoed to his house.

Soon enough, a soft and happy tone of voice startled them all. “What’re you doing?”

Seokjin turned around to see Namjoon standing at the entrance. His husband then walked inside to back hug him.

“I’m home, baby. I miss you.” Namjoon said.

“I miss you too,” Seokjin turned around to hug his husband back.

“Daddy, Daddy,” Two loud happy voices and claps pulled his attention back toward the twin. Jimin was hugging his calf while happily exclaimed “daddy home, daddy back” while Taehyung making a graby hands, asking to be carried.

Namjoon lifted Taehyung up and hugged him close as he wanted to, before he did the same for Jimin.

“Aigoo, my babies, daddy misses you two so much.” Namjoon rained kisses all over the twin faces, making them all giggle. Seokjin did too.

He pulled Seokjin into a family hug. The ‘ding’ of the oven startled them all.

  “What’re you doing?” Namjoon asked.

“Nothing.” Seokjin suddenly acted all threaten. What did he do? Baked something? “Tae, Minnie, why don’t you and daddy go to watch a movie?”

The twin nodded at their papa suggestion happily. Taehyung made a salute gestured at his papa before both Jimin and him screamed what movie they wanted to watch and urged Namjoon to the living room.

Namjoon gave Seokjin a look. His husband just grinned at him suspiciously.

As soon as Namjoon and their sons went to the living room, Seokjin quickly baked the cake, and hid his ‘surprise’. In the evening, it would be revealed. For now, he should clean his hands and brought Namjoon some breakfast.

“You’re acting suspicious today.” Namjoon said as soon as Seokjin sat down beside him on their comfy couch, Frozen was playing on the screen.

“You will know soon.” Seokjin just winked and jerked his eyebrow rapidly and playfully at his husband. “Anyways, how was the grand opening? I’m sorry I couldn’t be there with you. You know I would if—”

“Babe,” Namjoon kissed his lips to shit him up. “It’s okay, we talked about it before. Your job was important, you saved children life.”

“Yeah, if it were for the surgery, I would have been there with you. This is the third opening I’ve been missed.” Seokjin pouted, but his husband only shook his head.

“Don’t worry, babe.” Namjoon snaked his arm around Seokjin’s waist, pulling him more closer. “By the way, the interview will be aired today at 8pm,” Namjoon lifted his husband to sit on his laps after he finished his breakfast.

“I can imagine you became all sappy while talking about our story.” Seokjin whispered as Jimin and Taehyung shhed them.

“I did. I love you and our sons so much. Our best friends too.” Seokjin melted in Namjoon’s chest.

“You think we can add another son to our family?” Seokjin asked, testing the water.

“I guess. Jiminie and Tae need a small brother to look after, right babies?” Namjoon pat his sons back.

“Yes, daddy.” Taehyung said, all happy at the prospect of having another brother. “Papa said—”

Jimin closed his mouth with his palm. “Tae,”

“Okay, you three have something big hide from me.” Namjoon narrowed his eyes at his sons and husband.

“Be patient, Joonie.” Seokjin and Jimin winked at him. They weren’t blood related yet Jimin really took after Seokjin, while Taehyung was a combination of him and Seokjin.

“Alright, can I rest for a little? The plane’s chair hurt my back.” The twin quickly scrambled off from where they sat beside Namjoon to sit at the other side of the couch, leaving enough space for their daddy.

“Wanna rest in our bedroom?”Seokjin got off Namjoon to sit beside him instead.

Namjoon slowly laid himself down, head on Seokjin’s lap as his husband massage his temples gently, making him sleepy.

“Nahh, wanna rest where my worlds are.” Namjoon grinned sappily at Seokjin.

  “You’re so corny.”

Namjoon just laughed before he closed his eyes. He couldn’t wait for the surprise Seokjin had for him, and to enjoy the interview later tonight with Seokjin. Him being sappy would always made both of them turned horny afterwards, so he couldn’t wait for this part to come, too.

Notes:

So for the surprise is Seokjin had looked through Jungkook’s profile, a 9 months old baby. His parents were dead due to drug overdose. Seokjin immediately felt in love with him, just like the twin, and his husband already saw the toddler once before. Namjoon liked him a lot, saying he wouldn’t mind adopting Jungkook. However, due to his critical state, the adoption center deemed Jungkook was ready at all for adopting. Just the day Namjoon left for his store grand opening, Seokjin received an okay sign from the orphanage. So he and the twin decided to surprise their daddy with this information. Later that night, before the cake was served, Seokjin already put Jungkook picture and information inside the cake, waiting for Namjoon to open the surprise.
