Notes:

Hello everybody! PLEASE READ!
This is my very first fanfic... ever. Please be nice.
Just a few things I want to mention before letting you continue.
First, english is not my first language. So there are bound to be some misstakes. If you find them, please tell me, especially if there are ones I seem to repeat.
Second, the rating is Teen and up, and that's not gonna change. But sex is mentioned (in jokes and stuff). Also, there are some angsty scenarios with anxity-attacks and panic-attacks towards the end. I will mention in which chapters it occurs. It's not really that bad, but better to be safe than sorry.
Third, the whole fic is actually done, but the number of chapters and the proof-reading are not. I will definitely update at least once a week. But I hope it'll be more often. Sometimes it may be once a day. Anyway, it will be around 15 chapters and the wordcount is around 35000 words. Just so you know.

Chapter Text

Yoongi’s life was perfect. He had everything he could ever wish for, great friends, a job that gave him enough money to live a comfortable life, a lovely apartment, like seriously, he really loved his apartment. It was a great place to live. It had three rooms and a kitchen. The first two rooms were the bedroom and living room, and the last was the best one, his studio. The studio, Yoongi thought, was the whole reason why his apartment was so great. After years of saving up money he could finally afford to build his own studio with the most important equipment, and when he turned 25, he could use it for basically everything he needed it for. When it came to his music, Yoongi was a bit of a perfectionist. Nothing wrong with that.

Based on his perfect life, Yoongi didn’t like changes, he hated them. He strongly believed that with changes, his luck with life would wear away. He didn’t want to risk it. That’s why he was very happy, but also very displeased, when his two best friends, Namjoon and Seokjin, announced that they were getting married. Well, most of all he was happy, he knew that those two lovebirds were made for each other and nothing would change because they already lived together and so on. But a little part of Yoongi, the old grandpa that lived inside of him, according to Seokjin, was also terrible aware of the fact that after marriage there were children and stuff, and when children were in the picture, Yoongi’s perfect life with his perfect friends would change a lot. He didn’t want things to be different, like ever. He wanted to stay 25 for the rest of his life and have game nights every Saturday with the group. Was that too much to ask for?

Probably.

The group. The group was important to Yoongi. They were six people, a perfect number in every way. For example, going to amusements parks, they were equal in numbers and no one was sitting alone on the rollercoaster. Or at the restaurant, no one had to sit at the edge awkwardly while eating. Being six was perfect, the group was perfect. Part of Yoongi’s perfect life.

Namjoon and Seokjin were the groups power couple. Taehyung and Jungkook were the kids, very annoying but very loveable. And Hoseok, the straight one. Not that it was important to point out, like ever, that Hoseok was the only heterosexual person in the group, but it had become a joke between them all. More importantly, Hoseok was Yoongi’s partner in crime when it came to his music. Because while he himself created it, the other one danced to it. And they helped each other to come up with a sound that they both liked. So, to sum it up, the group was perfect. Six guys, the perfect number, no one was outcasted. Was that too much to ask for?

Again, probably.

***

“Let me introduce to you guys”, Seokjin almost sings while placing the pizza boxes on the table. “a new friend.”

They were at Namjoon and Seokjin’s and they were about to have one of their ordinary, very perfect, Saturday game nights.

“Who?” Taehyung ask while he ripped up the boxes and stuffed his mouth full.

Yoongi’s response was a bit more reluctant with a simple “What?”

“I met him at the gym, and he is the most loveable person you could ever dream of”, Seokjin exclaims.

“Good to know”, Namjoon’s speaks quietly but there is a smile on his face.

“I love you”, Seokjin gave his cheek a kiss.

Jungkook took a slice of the pizza and stared curiously on the couple. “So, where is he, then? Have you kidnapped him? Is he in the basement?” Both Jungkook’s and Taehyung’s faces looked too enthusiastic about the idea of a kidnapped stranger.

“I have not kidnapped anybody”

“What else are we supposed to believe when he’s not here”, Taehyung was quick to say.

“I don’t know, maybe that he is on his way here because he got an important job and couldn’t get off earlier, and now you guys need to stop being stupid assholes and play nice”.

Hoseok giggled. “You two need to stop anger the soon-to-be-married Jinnie. I think the wedding is getting to him”.

“Don’t”, Seokjin’s voice sounded mad but his face lightened up at the mention of the future wedding.

“He’s coming here?” Yoongi’s voice was low. “Why?”

Everybody faced him.

“He bought the gym me and Namjoon goes to and he is the instructor for one of the classes I attend”, Seokjin explained. “He is really nice and cute, and he has, like the most toned legs I have ever seen.”

“Joonie is right there,” Taehyung whispered as a warning.

“Can’t really blame him for saying it though, wait until you meet him. Every word is true”, Namjoon laughed.

“Why is he coming here?” Yoongi voiced his question again.

“He’s new to the city, so I invited him. Actually, he was the first one to know that we got engaged.”

Suddenly, all members of the group questioned this news. Loudly. Seokjin had to raise his voice to be heard again. “Come on, guys. Joonie had proposed and then we kind of ran into him and I couldn’t help myself.”

“So, you told him before you told me?” Jungkook’s eyes were glued at Namjoon, who was like a big brother to him.

“Sorry, Kookie”, Namjoon smiled and squeezed his hand. “But you were second to know.”

Jungkook didn’t look pleased. Everybody knew how important Namjoon was to him. When the youngest of them all found his way into the group, he was a closeted, shy teenager who didn’t even have the courage to ask for a glass of water. And it was all because of Namjoon that he found himself. It wasn’t a secret that Jungkook first had a crush on him and with that, even though Namjoon didn’t reciprocated, the two got very close and finally the youngest grew up to be almost as annoying as Taehyung.

“You just invited him because he’s new to the city?” Yoongi sounded irritated, but he didn’t care.

“Not only that, he’s soooooo nice, and I think he would be perfect with us. He’s the same age as you Tae”, Seokjin smiled at the redhaired boy, and as a result Taehyung clapped his hand enthusiastically.

“So, you gave me another kid to take care of?” Yoongi asked.

“We take care of the kids as much as you do”, Hoseok exclaimed.

“Nice try, Hobi, you’re one of the kids”, Namjoon added and looked at Hoseok.

“I’m older than you.”

“You are? Can’t really tell.”

At that moment the doorbell rang and Yoongi, who wanted to know more about this new, supposed friend, could only prepare himself for the slightly different perfect Saturday game night.

Seokjin ran to the door with Namjoon close behind. The other four sat curiously and waited for the stranger to enter the living room.

“So good to see you” and stuff like “Was it hard finding the right building?” were heard from the front door. Soon enough they could hear “Come inside and say hello to the gang” and Yoongi prepared himself for a new face. He didn’t like that he was pushed into this situation, when he hadn’t been given time to get ready to meet a person he never met before. All he was counting on this night, was the group and only the group. Yoongi didn’t like it at all. So, mature as he was, he decides that he didn’t like this stranger, whoever he may be.

No, he didn’t like him. At all.

“Hello, I’m Jimin.”

Oh shit.

One word. Cute.

Wait a minute. OH SHIT.

Two words. Cute legs.

Yoongi was going to murder Seokjin.

Everybody presented themselves and Taehyung literally grabbed Jimin’s arm and pulled him down on the sofa next to him.

“We are gonna be bestest of friends”, he called out and Yoongi grimaced.

“Uh, hello?” Jungkook let himself be heard on the other side of Taehyung.

“Ah, come on, we all know that your best friend is Joonie and now it’s my turn to have a bestie.”

“I’m sorry for my friends”, Seokjin smiled at Jimin.

“It’s okay, it’s cute.”

Yoongi was the only one who hadn’t introduced himself. He had quietly taking in the situation and even though the newcomer was sort of cute, in a way that Yoongi was not affected by, he wasn’t going to throw himself at him. A lot of people who were cute, Yoongi disliked.

After a while, Seokjin took it upon himself to introduce everybody thoroughly.

“You have met Namjoon”, Seokjin smiled. “As you know, he works as a librarian at the university. And Jungkook, his best friend, study at said university to be a 3D-animator. Which is really cool. Taehyung here is a party planner, and he’s also in charge of our wedding. Those two are referred to as the kids, and you’re older than them, and you should yell at them or come to me if they’re being rude. They are annoying and a handful to spend time with, but you’ll love them.”

“Thanks for such a great first impression”, Jungkook muttered.

“We also have the third kid”, Seokjin turned to Hoseok, who glared at him. “But he’s kind of a special case. He usually become part of the kids squad when drunk. He’s older than you and Namjoon. Hobi is a dancer, and I know that you two are probably gonna wanna talk about dancing but I’m on a roll here so let’s continue. Anyway, he’s a dancer, he has danced on TV and stuff. Now, he dances with this dance group and teaches dancing on the side.”

“What kind of dancing do you…?” Jimin looked super curious but Seokjin stopped him.

“Na ah, don’t mess with my flow”, he said. “You two can talk in a minute, first, lets talk about our precious Yoongi.”

Yoongi did not want to talk about himself. He was thankful that Seokjin took the lead and introduced everybody. Since Jimin had entered the apartment, Yoongi hadn’t spoken a word. And he wanted to keep it that way.

“Hi”, Jimin uttered as he also recognized that the two hadn’t officially greeted each other.

“Min Yoongi”, Seokjin used his surname, which confused Yoongi to his very core. Why so suddenly formal? “You see, Jimin, Yoongi is the grandpa.”

Ah, he understood. He was being cranky, and Seokjin punished him for it.

“What?” Jimin looked confused and the rest of the group, except for Yoongi himself, giggled.

“What I mean is that Yoongi is the grandpa of the group”, Seokjin explained. “He is cranky, and he’s being cranky right now. For reasons I don’t know. The point is, that you may look at this man and think he has this dark soul. That there’s this icy interior and that he’s ‘bad to the bone’ so to speak. But what you need to know is that…”

Oh no.

“…he really is…”

He wouldn’t dare say it.

“…this tiny little…”

Seokjin is dead.

“…kitten.”

“Stop it!” Yoongi cried out.

“Kitten?” Jimin asked and smiled.

“I’m not a kitten.”

“Look, there’s the pout.” Yoongi glared at Jungkook, who was too careless about what he said and who he said it to.

“So that’s pretty much all you need to know about grandpa”, Seokjin said. “Except that he loves to write music and works as a foley-artist, like, making sound effects to movies and stuff. The company he works for are doing very well so he’s working on bigger projects. You probably seen some of his stuff at the cinema.”

“Enough talking about me”, Yoongi muttered and whished Seokjin could talk more about his own work as an elementary school teacher instead. The oldest always told them stories about how he teaches the children to spell complicated words and stuff like that. “I wanna play. Jungkook, you’re on?”

“No”, the youngest said.

Traitor.

“I wanna know more about Jimin. Where are you from?”

“Everywhere, I guess”, Jimin explained. “My family always moved around a lot. My mother is a fashion designer, she has her own company. It’s pretty big, there’re stores all around the country. I worked as her assistant while I studied to become a personal trainer. And while working with her I learned about what it is like to own a company, so now when I’m done with my studies, I bought the gym.”

He said it like it wasn’t a big deal. And when Yoongi thought about it, Jimin seemed to be a person with money to spare. It was not like Yoongi was jealous, except that he was jealous, but he himself had to struggle to be able to afford his studio and everything that goes with it. And still today, when he wants something, he must save for a few months or even a year before he can buy it.

“Oh, right, I almost forgot”, Jimin stood from the couch. “I have an engagement gift for you guys.”

“Are we supposed to give you a gift?” Taehyung straight out asked.

“You didn’t have to”, Namjoon tried.

“I wanted to”, Jimin smiled so big that his eyes almost disappeared into crescents. “I’m so happy for you.”

He walked to the front door to get his bag and when he came back, he dug his hands in and pulled out a couple of envelopes. He gave them to the couple. Namjoon opened the first one.

“It’s a one year free-training card at the gym”, he laughed.

Seokjin pulled the cards from his hands. “Oh my god, does this cover my classes too?”

“It covers everything”, Jimin said. “I’ve already stopped you monthly payments to the gym and you can use these cards instead. Same thing.”

“Thank you so much!” Both Namjoon and Seokjin gave Jimin a hug.

“That wasn’t the real present”, Jimin encourage them to open the last envelope. “I thought you deserved to exercise for free a while, and by doing this, you’ll still be my customers.”

“Who doesn’t pay you”, Hoseok added.

Yoongi felt sick. No one else had even thought about giving the groups power couple a gift for their engagement. That was not something they did. But Jimin just walked in here and changed that. Not good.

Seokjin opened the last envelope. “A spa weekend? Are you kidding?”

Yoongi realized that Jimin had a lot of money, and he didn’t know how to not spend it. While he himself crossed his arms over his chest, Seokjin jumped up and down a couple of times and thanked Jimin with the biggest smile on his face.

“Seriously, it’s too much!” he exclaimed, but didn’t show any sign of refusing the gift.

“Yeah, it is”, muttered Yoongi, but nobody was paying him any attention.

“No, you guys have been so good to me and I wanted to give you something back”, Jimin beamed. “You told me that you barely had any time just the two of you lately, so I thought…”

“Maybe they just like to hang out with their friends”, Yoongi snapped and Jimin turned to him, looking surprised.

“Oh”, his face turned a little red.

Namjoon kicked Yoongi’s ankle while Seokjin glared at him.

“No, Jimin, this is perfect”, the eldest stated. “Our friends have a bad habit of inviting themselves over every other weekend, so we really appreciate this.”

Jimin smiled, even though it was a bit uncertainly.

“Yeah, I think you two need this”, Taehyung agreed, his lips formed a box while he smiled, and dragged Jimin down on the sofa beside him again. “We do have this habit of overstay our welcome, like, every time we’re here.”

What? Yoongi was confused, since when were their game nights not only the group having the best time possible? No one overstayed anything.

“We don’t hate spending time with you guys”, Namjoon assured. “We just really really like spending time with each other, too.”

The couple looked longingly at each other, like they recently started dating, and not been together since forever.

“Well, if you guys want to spend some alone time, just put a sock on the door or something.” Taehyung wiggled his eyebrows.

“Why would they do that?” Jungkook asked confused, not picking up the meaning behind the words.

Everybody stared at him and finally Hoseok opened his mouth to explain. “That means they’re having sex. Seriously, Jungkook, how can you be in college and not know this?”

But the question was overshadowed with Jungkook’s scream when he realized what they were talking about. His face turned the brightest of red and covered his ears with his hands. The group, even Yoongi, laughed at him.

“And now, he’s gonna be traumatized for the rest of the night”, Namjoon snickered.

“And he won’t look either of us in the eyes for probably a few days”, Seokjin added and ruffled Jungkooks hair. “Jungkook’s easily embarrassed.” The last words were spoken to Jimin, who was taking in the situation.

Jungkook crawled closer to Taehyung and pulled his knees up to his chest while covering his face in embarrassment. Yoongi knew that with Jimin’s presence, it was even worse. Another reason why the newcomer shouldn’t barge in on their game night. He didn’t understand why everybody were so unaffected by the way Jimin made them all look bad, by not only giving an engagement gift, but also giving an extremely expensive engagement gift. It was annoying.

“I think you broke him, Hobi” Taehyung said and put his arm around Jungkook’s shoulders.

Again, Yoongi found himself not laughing, while the others did. He looked around the room and wondered what was happening to his friends, and for the first time in forever, he wanted to go home. He stared at the newcomer, hoping that he realized that he should be the one to go and leave them all to be. But Jimin settled on the sofa and giggled along with the others. And with that giggle, Yoongi decided, that he didn’t like him. He didn’t like him at all.

Notes:
