A shock shook the building, sending its occupants stumbling about. Saitama swore as the hot tea in his hands spilled over on to his oppai hoodie. Genos heard and quickly strode over to assist his sensei by checking if he had any burns on his hand or body.
"I'm fine, Genos," Saitama assured, taking off his, now, dirty hoodie and set it away for washing, "but what was that shaking?"
"Let's see if they reported it since I'm unable to find the cause on my scanners, likely due to it not being in the vicinity or a natural disaster," Genos explained, moving to turn the TV on and seeing the news report flash across the screen.
"An ongoing battle abruptly ended when a small figure came falling from the sky, striking an accidental, deadly blow to the monster and- hey, what are you doing, little boy?" the reporter asked, incredulously, as the camera moved to focus on the small figure of a young boy who had stolen the reporter's mic from him.
The young boy had almond shaped amber colored eyes that almost looked like they were glowing under his raven hair. He fiddled around with the mic as if he'd never seen one before handing it back to the reporter who took it back, confused. The little boy turned to the camera, a small pout on his lips before the reporter leaned down to ask him a question. He nodded his head, replying to whatever was asked and the reporter asked another question which was answered. The reporter grew pale and confused, asking again to make sure the answer was correct.
"This young man is looking for his p-parents," the reporter reported hesitantly, still slightly pale in the face, "their names are Demon Cyborg and... O-One Punch Man?"
Saitama, who'd gotten bored after hearing that the monster had been defeated, snapped to attention when his disciple's hero name was mentioned along with another unheard of hero name. The reporter on the TV said that they didn't have a hero like that but the little boy shook his head in disagreement.
"There has to be, my papa can defeat monsters with just a single punch," the little boy exclaimed, excitedly throwing his fist in the air, "everyone admires him, he's the Earth's hero!"
Saitama's heart speed up, his breath catching at what the boy just said. The boy couldn't possibly be talking about him, could he?
"I'm sorry but a hero that defeats monsters in one punch? That's impossible, kid," the reporter dismissed, chuckling but the little boy started scowling, reminding Saitama of a certain someone.
"Yes, there is, he's the coolest hero ever, the strongest man and wouldn't hesitate to help those who are in trouble," the boy declared, crossing his tiny arms over his chest as if to show that his view was unshakable.
Saitama choked on air as soon as those words were spoken. The strongest man was him, according to Genos, since he was the only one who knew the truth about King but has no idea about the mysterious Blast. Unless there was a secret hero who didn't join HA and was with Genos.
"Could it be that you're talking about King?" the reporter asked, the boy's face grew sour looking like if he'd just eaten a lemon.
"King? He could never measure up to my papa," the little boy denied, he stomped his foot stubbornly and created tiny fissures in the ground, "he's good at playing games, and has a good heart but he's not strong plus he's old."
"Hey, kid, just because you have fantasies of a hero who could defeat monsters with one punch, doesn't mean you get to bad mouth King," the reported warned, Saitama felt an emotion well up at the sight of the reporter talking down to the little boy.
"My papa's real!" he yelled, stomping even harder on the ground and cracking the road underneath, tears welled up inside his eyes, "papa! Daddy!"
Saitama scrambled up, quickly throwing on his hero suit, Genos' calls falling on deaf ears as he rushed out the door, locking it up. He traveled fast, not understanding why he needed to but feeling like it was best if he did. He got to the scene, a few class A and below heros trying to drag the boy away but he had embedded his foot in the ground. He fought against their hands, shaking them off as if they were nuisances.
Saitama edged around, trying to find an opening so he could snatch the kid away from the persistent heros. Of course one of the heros spotted him, immediately alerting the others and they crowed around the kid as if to shield him from Saitama.
"Well if it isn't the fake hero, Caped Baldy," one hero sneered, Saitama didn't recognize him so he was pretty sure he never met the hero, "here to steal points from us real heros."
"No, the kid is just looking for his parents and-" Saitama tried to say, getting cut off by another hero who snickered mockingly.
"Let me guess, you just want to do what's right," the hero teased, Saitama sighed feeling a small build of annoyance, "just get lost baldly."
"You're the bald one, baldly!" Saitama snapped, gritting his teeth as he glared childishly toward the hero who looked at him weird.
"You're the-" a gust of wind cut the hero off as a shock rocked the ground.
"Papa!" the little boy cheered, descending toward a flabbergasted Saitama who hurriedly caught the child in his arms, "I knew you'd come."
The boy wrapped his arms tightly around Saitama's neck, surprising the bald man with his strong grip. Saitama awkwardly moved his hands around before wrapping his arms around the boy. He huffed in irritation as the other heros glared at him in accusation.
"Hold on tight," he whispered to the boy who nodded and tightened his grip. He spun around, leaving in the blink of an eye to a more quiet and less crowded space.
"Okay, kid, why did you call me papa?" Saitama demanded the second he stepped into Genos' and his apartment and after he pried the boy off as gently as he could.
"'Cause you're my papa," the boy explained simply, Saitama sighed in slight frustration causing the boy to shrink back a bit, making Saitama feel bad.
"No, I mean I've never been with someone in that way so it would be impossible to have a kid," Saitama muttered to himself, he hadn't exactly been popular and the few girls he did date didn't go very far with him before dumping him.
"Sensei?" Saitama jumped startled, forgetting that he'd left his disciple behind for the few minutes he left to get the kid.
"Oh Genos, sorry about that," Saitama chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, embarrassed, "it's just the kid was seriously looking for his- oh that reminds me why'd he mention your hero name?"
"I have no idea, sensei, there could be a slight chance that he mistakenly said it when the reporter asked or he somehow-" Genos got cut off when a speeding ball tackled him down.
The little boy had wrapped his arms around the blond cyborg, metal groaning underneath tightly wound arms. Saitama's eyes widened as the boy started crying, crocodile tears rolling down his cheeks as he whimpered into Genos' waist.
"Daddy, those mean people were badmouthing papa," the boy cried out, Genos looked confused but patted the boy's hair in awkward comfort.
"Hey, kid, we're not your parents," Saitama said, the little boy paused in his crying looking between the two and giving a confused look.
"I never mistake yours or daddy's smell, I have a sharp nose," the boy countered, putting his nose in the air and sniffing around like a canine.
"Yeah, well here's the thing- what's your name?" Saitama asked, realizing he never asked before.
"Kuro," the boy, Kuro, answered sniffling as he pulled away from Genos to sit seiza.
"Okay Kuro, I've never been with anybody that way, especially Genos and even if that were the case, he's a cyborg and we're both male," Saitama explained hoping Kuro at least knew what he had meant when he said 'that way'.
"Daddy isn't a cyborg anymore," Kuro claimed, lifting up Genos' shirt and surprising the two, "see he doesn't- how?"
"Okay Kuro, explain," Saitama declared and when Kuro made a questioning sound, he tried again, "you fell from the sky, claimed your parents were Genos, and apparently, me. Now you said that Genos isn't a cyborg anymore. Explain."
Kuro sat still, eyes focused ahead of him as if he'd zoned out. Then, as if coming to a realization, his eyes lit up in excitement but also apprehension.
"I think I've come from the future," Kuro shyly said, dunking his head down.
Saitama stood still, not moving a single muscle before he let of a small chuckle that turned into full blown laughter. He laugh ceased immediately as his eyes shifted into sharper focus. Kuro was just a kid who fell out of the sky, claiming nonsense about him and his disciple being his parents.
"Okay kid, the truth or I'll hand you over to HA and you'll be theirs to deal with," Saitama started, feeling a twinge of guilt for the way Kuro's bottom lip trembled but pushing it aside for now.
"I-It sounds impossible but I-I'm telling the truth papa," Kuro whimpered, tears gathering in his eyes as he gazed at Saitama with hurt puppy dog eyes.
"C-com' on, k-kid," Saitama stuttered, feeling his guilt spill over while watching tears fill familiar colored eyes. The same eyes that seemed to be staring a hole into his bald scalp while he kneeled down next to Kuro and awkwardly patted his head, "don't cry, I just... want to know the truth and believing some kid, that came from the sky, saying he's from the future is a little hard to believe. Even with what I've seen and heard."
"Well, in the future, papa is the best hero ever! Everyone loves papa and sometimes daddy gets really, really jealous of papa's fans," Kuro started excitedly.
"Can you explain the part of us and you?" Saitama asked, gesturing between himself and his disciple who had a far off look in his eyes.
"Um, oh!" Kuro nodded, clearing his throat before getting serious which, to Saitama, looked absolutely adorable, "daddy told me that, five years after he defeated the Mad Cyborg, he was approached by weird people while shopping with papa.
"He said they told him how they could make him an organic body that wouldn't be exactly the same but close to it. That they wanted him to be able to experience life normally," Kuro continued, Saitama was still focused, allowing the kid to go over the twenty or less limit since he very much doubts that the explanation could be short without leaving major holes.
"Daddy said papa got really mad and told them and I quote 'Genos is fine the way he is whether he's a cyborg, an alien or whatever, he'll always be Genos to me and that's all that matters' end quote," Kuro relayed, Saitama felt himself flush a bit but knew that he'd never view Genos as anything less than human, "Papa dragged daddy away after telling them to get lost, and they never spoke about it again. However, daddy was still plagued by what those men had proposed.
"For a whole year, daddy tried not to think about it, but at every turn, he was confronted with the idea of having back his human body even if it wasn't the one he was born with," Saitama looked to Genos, wondering if, even now, his disciple was thinking about it but couldn't clearly see past Genos' usual stoic expression, "it became especially hard when daddy started to develop feeling for... papa. He tried to suppress them, forced a lock and key on his feelings, that is, until daddy was hanging on to his life by a thread."
Saitama sucked in a breath, feeling his heart pound in his chest more over the fact that his disciple came close to dying than Genos having feelings for him. He heard a gasp and hiss of steam and turned to look at his disciple who'd turned his head away from Saitama.
"He had a moment of weakness, and got distracted letting the monster sense that second of opening," Kuro hesitated, chewing his bottom lip before letting out a breath, "the monster had almost completely destroyed his core and cracked open the metal -that replaced his skull- exposing his human brain to the monster but luckily papa got there in time."
Saitama sighed quietly in relief, feeling proud of future him for a short minute before feeling angry and ashamed at his future himself for being late. Especially if it could have costed Genos' life.
"Daddy was in a coma for half a year, papa didn't do well without him. Grandpa Kuseno's laboratory became his home for the six months daddy was in a coma," Kuro once again continued, Saitama found it easier to listen to the child than other people, "when daddy woke up, papa was relieved, crying until he passed out from fatigue but when he woke up, alone in his room at the lab, he made sure it wasn't a dream and then, they had a long, long conversation when daddy was feeling a bit better.
"Daddy told him that he was thinking about the men's proposal, filling in grandpa Kuseno in the process, who shared papa's view on the matter but ultimately said it was daddy's life and decision," Saitama felt that if he was against it, it must've been because of his own personal feelings, "papa didn't accept, daddy begged for him to tell him why. Papa told daddy that if he were to lose his purpose, which was being a hero, to stay with him than he'd leave him. Daddy couldn't handle keeping his feeling locked away and just as papa was going to leave, daddy confessed."
Saitama felt like smacking his future self, if Genos wanted a chance at a regular life with no fighting monsters than he should've let him. Instead, he made future Genos feel bad and had him confess the feelings he was trying so hard to keep locked away so that they wouldn't affect their relationship. It had been his fault that Genos had to hide his feelings away like some dirty secret.
"They went looking for those men, along with grandpa Kuseno, when daddy was fully recovered. Grandpa wanted to be there for daddy to make sure they didn't do anything that could damage daddy's organic brain. The men found them, daddy told them he'd only agree if they showed him proof. They did, along with evidence that the others lived a completely regular life and were able to have kids like anybody else.
"Daddy agreed, they started the process and three years later they were done. They told daddy that if they were to do this, he could never be a cyborg, again. The transfer would be too much strain but he still agreed, already knowing the consequences from grandpa's own research and so-"
"Wait! Okay, I understand all of that but what about you, where do you fall into place, kid?" Saitama interrupted, feeling a little bit of his normal annoyance for long winded speeches, and stories, slowly build up.
"Ahem, two years after daddy became fully human," Kuro ignored Saitama, the bald man feeling a twitch in his eye, "there was a mutation that caused unforeseen effects that would, five years later, became known as the Alpha/Beta/Omega mutation. It turned majority of the population into omegas, the other percentages were Betas and Alphas. Short version, Omega's were beneath Alphas, Alphas dominated over every Beta and especially over every Omega. Betas were considered the average person like from before the mutation took hold.
"Papa and daddy were affected, too. Papa became an Alpha and daddy became... an Omega. There was panic, but a group rose up and started studying the mutation, figuring out the effects it had on everyone's body. Papa didn't fully understand but when certain periods of time came and daddy let off a certain smell, he reacted and vice versa. Those times were later called heats for Omegas and ruts for Alphas. Heats allowed for Omegas to become more fertile to... become pregnant while Alphas went into ruts to claim an Omega(s) to-"
"So you're telling me, Genos became an Omega, me an Alpha, and you're our actual son because of this mutation that made it possible?" Saitama simplified, Kuro nodded and Saitama scrunched his nose up in confusion.
"Alphas find Omegas who aren't claimed by another Alpha and use them to breed more Alphas, if they can't, they're cast aside. It almost happened to daddy."
Saitama growled at that, making the other two flinch at the sound. Genos, who had been quietly listening and trying to wrap his head around all this information, scooted closer to place a calming hand on his sensei's back. Saitama flinched a fraction away from the metal hand on his back but relaxed, letting his anger flow out of him.
"So, what... what did future me do?" Saitama hesitantly asked.
"Papa almost ripped the other Alpha apart and that's when papa's Alpha instincts kicked in."
"Huh?"
"When Alphas and Omegas get together to stay with each other, the Alpha bites the nape of the Omega, creating a bond. Daddy and papa didn't know about that since papa is dull to sensation, but his heightened anger allowed for his inner Alpha to come out. Daddy blushed a bunch when he told me that, along with papa so, they didn't tell me what exactly happened but I sort of pieced it together from my own research."
Saitama felt a fiery heat in his cheeks, putting together what had not been said. Future him and Genos had... his face heated up more and he peaked out of the corner of his eyes to see that his Genos wasn't fairing any better. Genos body was throwing out golden light, the kind when he powered up, and giving off a lot of heat.
"Okay, that's enough for now, Kuro," Saitama sighed, massaging his temples to relieve the pressure because of all the information he was loaded with.
"Okay, papa!" Kuro grinned, Saitama observed the boy's features, his hair, his nose, his mouth, his eyes and everything. Kuro did resemble him from his hair to his nose to the shape of his eyes but the rest must be from Genos.
Genos and him, huh. That certainly wasn't something he thought was possible and it wasn't because he said he didn't like guys. It was just that he was nobody and Genos was young, smart, handsome plus he had people who surrounded him so, why settle for some average, bald dude who just had incredible strentgh going for him?
He shook his head, not wanting to dwell on that right now. He would leave tomorrow's problem to tomorrow's him.
