As I approached the deserted house at the end of the road I saw most of my friends from school waiting for me (I’m not going to list them all, for time’s sake). This house, and the forest behind it, were home to a plethora of doors. Not just any old wood-and-hinges doors. The doors into the Multiverse.
We picked out some doors. I picked DC Comics (there are two people I really want to meet), my friend Maria and my brother Atticus picked Black Butler (his favorite character is Alois Trancy), Bradley went to Studio Ghibli, Ashley chose Undertale, Lily went to the Steven Universe door, and a boatload of other people went to a boatload of other doors (more on that later).
Maria and Atticus were greeted by an overjoyed Finny, who shouted “Yay! New friends!” Bradley was tackled by Mei and Big Totoro, Ashley got a plateful of spaghetti (in the face), and when Lily opened the door, we all heard “WHO ARE THESE CLODS?!” I took a deep, reassuring breath, and reached for the knob. Suddenly, a blast of energy hit me in the chest. Beams of light streamed from my hands, feet, and head. Silhouettes of women and girls surrounded me, slowly becoming recognizable.
“Lewis?” Jessica Wayne! “Jessie? You’re real?!” Ashley ran over to us. “Oh my god! You're Jessica Wayne! IT'S REALLY YOU!!” Jessica laughed. Two little kids hugged me. “Han and Amidala Ren. What are you two little rascals doing here? Where’s your mum and Cora?”
“Right here, Lewis.” Charis Ren walked over to me with a gentle, motherly smile on her face. “Who’s that?” My friend Colton asked quizzically. “Everyone, this is Charis, Han, Amidala, and Cora Ren.” Blank stares. “My first OC ever and three of her four children. She’s Kylo Ren’s wife.”
The rest of my OCs crowded around me in a huddle; Mina and Summer Pines (mother and daughter), Cora Ren (Karina’s oldest child), Anna Wayne/Deadly Frost (Jessica’s daughter and her alter ego), Tess/Lola Smith, Adeza Lokison, and others (because if I listed them all you would probably be dead).
“Last night, and I don’t know how or why, all of our respective partners were kidnapped.” Charis says quietly. “Even Ford?” I asked Mina. She looked at me with tears welling up in her eyes. I gasped. Ford was the only good guy I had ever had a crush on. “Guys,” I called to my friends. “You might wanna come here and hear this.”
