Work Text:

All in all, Gladion and Moon were not shy about their affections.

Sometimes it would be Moon gripping to his arm, other times it’s his hand unconsciously wrapping around her waist. Usually it was their fingers intertwined within one another’s as they walked, but more often than not it was a sly look and signal that had Gladion pressing Moon up against a door, or a wall, or on his office’s couch as he took in the feel of her lips against his.

But recently Gladion had to cancel dates, bail on nights in, resort to conversations over texts, and goodnights over the phone--and after a week of long, sleepless nights he finally was forcibly evicted from Aether Paradise on Wicke’s orders. He could possibly blame the fact that his presentations were drier than usual, or even that he was falling asleep during his lunch break--but regardless  of the reason his release meant he could see Moon. So he decided that he could go and surprise her with a battle, maybe even get her to play hooky so they can grab dinner.

An apology on his behalf for having to be distant.

Instead, post battle, he’s met with a glint in her eye, a steady hand on his chest as she leads him to walk backwards towards her Champion throne. And he definitely didn’t think she would coax him to sit down--only to have her plop onto his lap soon afterwards.

And it’s with the wrap of her arms around his neck that it becomes clear why she was doing this.

“Did you miss me that badly, Moonbeam?” the teasing nickname causing her cheeks to softly flush, but her brow to furrow.

“Are you saying you didn’t miss me?”

The quip pulls a smile to his face as his hands work on pulling her closer, on bringing his face to hers, their lips brushing just enough to hear her softly exhale in response.

There was comfort in the minimal distance, in their reunion.

And there was also hunger.

“I did,” he murmurs as he pulls away, taking note how she pouts at the space he created, only for it to be replaced with small giggles as he pecks her forehead, her nose, her cheeks. But Moon could feel the smirk as he continued to move towards her ear to breathily whisper.

“But I don’t think me kissing you on your throne is very appropriate, Champion.”

He could feel the shiver running down her spine, see how her head turns every so slightly towards the door, eyes returning to his gaze with only one clear goal as her lips return to ghost his.

“No one will come in,” Moon murmurs, breath dancing on his lips. His lips undoubtedly twitching.

“Good,” and it’s him who closes the space hs created, “cause I have days worth of kisses to give you,” said between passes, kisses growing desperate as Gladion’s hands run down her sides, igniting a path as a content sigh escapes Moon’s lips. He can feel her thighs pressing around him when his tongue slowly runs along her bottom lip. How they so easily part to let him in, to flick his tongue against hers, to hum just to get a rise out of her.

And as Moon lets out the quiet mewl of his name, something incessentaly starts buzzing in her pocket--a wash of disappointment flashing across both their flustered faces as they part breathlessly.

That vibration only meant one thing.

“You have to go?”

Moon nods her head, lifting off his lap as she adjusts her clothing, and turns towards the center of the floor. Gladion just as quick to get up; to leave the challenger to lose to Moon without an audience, until Moon looks over her shoulder.

“You can stay,” she pauses, coy smile lifting her still pink cheeks, “besides, Arceus knows how long you’ve wanted to sit there.” The playful wink acting like the cherry on top of her statement before walking away from his scoff and quick eye roll.

And Gladion admits it.

The view of Moon beating Hau again isn’t bad at all.
