"lan zhan honey when are you going to comeback?" He ask and his husband answer while packing almost all of his stuff "may 1 or 2 years I don't know Wei Ying" he reply coldly and zip his suitcase.
"I-is that so..... Then tell sizhui that I miss him and give me a call" he said and smile while clenching his hand on his pants "mn. I will" he said and immediately leave the house. His husband left him leaving him Everytime for a long time and only coming back in his house for a few days then leave again. The door closed he went to the guest room and took the two folder in the drawer. One was a medication and one for divorce that he already signed. He look at the other folder and slowly opening it.
He gasped and tremble. Tears started to fall he didn't know what to do he read it carefully everyword made him tear up. He can't stop reading and tears starting to fall he couldn't accept it. Even though this is his family he wanted to stay and see his son grow up.
But faith didn't let him. He has a 2nd stage leukemia.
He went to the hospital packing his other clothes and putting the divorce paper and his wedding ring before leaving the house. Once he look again at the house, the house full of happy memories but now it was empty.
He immediately started the chemotherapy. His body is getting weak and his hair is falling until there was nothing left "Wei Ying..... You need family that will assist you in you medication, you can't fight this alone" his brother in law said "I don't wanna be a burden to anyone, I know they are busy with their everyday life" he reply and look at the window "beside after I die they will just forget me" he continue and cry silently "then what about wangji he is your husband" xichen said " not anymore I already divorce him and what's the big deal if he knew that I will die, I think he will celebrate" tears continue to fall
He was eating his lunch when suddenly he threw up... It was blood he continue to threw up blood till the nurse came and panic immediately called the doctor's.
Many months later
His body is thin and he can barely breathe. He look at the date it was Valentine's day he remembered the day how his husband surprised him Everytime when Valentine's day comes. He will treat him to a romantic dinner and dance like they were the only people in the world.
He doesn't when he will last he was already in his 4th stage. He refused to be operated to cure his illness and just waiting in his bed till death come.
Then the door slam it was jiang Cheng and his jie jie crying " You idiot! How could you not tell us!" Jiang Cheng cry while his jie jie cried louder and so he cried too. He cried because someone finally came after all the waiting.
"I'm sorry xian xian didn't mean to hurt you two" he said and the two immediately came beside him and hug him "you better get well and finished your medication" jiang Cheng whisper while he cry. "Jiang Cheng jie jie I'm sorry but I cannot promise you that I will be well" he said while hugging his siblings "no if you don't get well jie jie will get angry at you and... And a-ling will be angry too" his jie jie said crying even louder.
A few weeks his siby continue to visit him taking care of him. While he is growing more weaker that he can only whisper and cannot talk much louder like he used to be.
"Jie jie..... I miss him... When he will come back?" He whisper Jiang yanli stop folding the blankets and clenched her hands "I miss how he kissed me.....hug me..... And how much embarrassed he is...... When is being teased....." His tears fall as he continue to speak "jie jie am I a bad wife?...... Why did he continue to leave me?........ What did..... What did I do wrong?......" He look at his ceiling while his jie jie is angry and crying.
"Jie...... I'm sorry..... But I won't be able to make it......"he whisper "no xian Xi'an will make it you have to believe yourself" jiang yanli hold his hand and crying unto it. "Jie when you see him tell him that I love him so much..... That I miss him..... That I wanna hug him right now and forever so is sizhui..... Why is he not calling me? Is he angry at me?......" He said and cried.
"Jie..... I'm sorry if I'm a burden...... I'm sorry for being an idiot brother....... I'm sorry for being a careless mother...... And an idiot wife..... I'm sorry......" He said. The monitor beep there were no heartbeat and jiang yanli is crying whispering you didn't do anything wrong.
Jiang Cheng entered the room hearing the long beep and crying of their older sister he immediately call the doctor. "I'm sorry, the time of death March 16th 20xx 6:25 pm." Xichen said and cover Wei WuXian body.
The siblings mourned for their beloved brother, their sunshine. All of their friends attend the funeral except for his husband. Jiang yanli and jiang cheng who was very angry at lan wangji even their nephew sizhui. Even his last breath he told that he missed the two his husband and his son that he love so much.
The body was cremated and his ash was placed in the jiang Manor where his parents, madam yu and jiang fengmian was placed. Everyday they lit incense.
1 year have pass the two came back. Sizhui unlocked the door only to find it empty and full of dust. Did his mother forgot to clean or he was away? "Mom?" He shout no one answered "dad are you sure mom is here?" He ask his father "maybe he's asleep or away, Don't bother let's just unpack I still have jetlagged and your auntie never let me sleep" his dad said. He was sad because they've been backstabbing his mom for 5 years.
His father called the office to clean their house which is a condo. He went down to buy groceries when he was at the lobby he hears whispers he couldn't hear what they we're talking about so he just ignore it.
He cameback he ask the new janitor "sir excuse me what are they talking about?" He ask "didn't you know? The man who was living in the room 305 that was occupied today died years ago" the janitor whisper " they said he died in cancer " the janitor continue "plus the family of the man living there never visited only his siblings when he was about to die a poor soul left forgotten by his family, I should be going now they might think I was slacking see ya" the janitor said and left. Sizhui was just there standing frozen.
He immediately went to their room and only to find his father reading something divorce paper. His father is so angry that he crumpled the paper he immediately call Mom but he was out of reach "dad..... Should we ask uncle xichen about this?" He ask and his father nod
Xichen came into their house and explain everything there he could see how dad regret leaving mom and so am I. So he was waiting for us even in his final breath he think. They were told that his ashes was at his siblings house
They immediately went there but only to get kick out by his uncle "stay out! You wouldn't get to have my brother ash after what you did to him!" Uncle jiang Cheng said "but uncle---!" He was cut off "don't call me uncle I don't have a nephew from Wei Ying I only have Jin ling" his uncle said and closed the gate
Even talking to his auntie jiang yanli was even harder. She just said in monotone voice that he doesn't have a brother in law in the lan family and so is a nephew.
His father abandoned his work and just drink alcohol even though his alcohol tolerance is low. Sizhui tried to stop him but his father wouldn't stop from drinking. At night he cried inside his room regretting that didn't manage to tell his mom how much he love him.
They regret not spending more time with him. And now he's gone forever.
His father almost killed himself because of regret and selfishness. Lan wangji couldn't live without his wife but he torture him while he was still alive. Having fun with sizhui and his boyfriend in the other country while his wife was just stuck here alone at their home. He laughed and cried at the same time he doesn't know what to do anymore. It was his fault if he didn't just leave him and made him feel more love it wouldn't be like this.
"Make sure you wouldn't fall in love with someone only me" Wei Ying said "mn. Only Wei Ying" he reply holding him closer "because if you fall in love with someone else I will disappear and you will never see me ever again" he said playfully and hug back.
The promise he made when he and him were still young broken. And the promise Wei Ying made came true
His beloved is gone now and it's his fault.
