An Interesting Turn of Events

Summary:

There were three things Jotaro Joestar was completely certain about:

One. 80’s rock was the be-all end-all of music.
Two. The movie Jaws wrongly portrayed sharks as evil and blood-thirsty, and he did not stand for it at all.
Three. Being an alpha while also part of the Joestar-lineage was an absolute curse.

Notes:

This mess of a story is the first fanfic I've written since i was thirteen, so please keep that in mind while reading. English is also not my first language so there are probably some spelling/grammar errors in this. I hope that it is still readable though :P

Chapter Text

There were three things Jotaro Joestar was completely certain about:

One. 80’s rock was the be-all end-all of music.

Two. The movie Jaws wrongly portrayed sharks as evil and blood-thirsty, and he did not stand for it at all.

Three. Being an alpha while also part of the Joestar-lineage was an absolute curse.

Jotaro was well aware of the fact that he probably didn’t really have any right to complain. Not when his biggest problems stemmed from his 195-centimetre stature, and his otherwise strong physique. Or more precisely, his problems stemmed from the reactions of the people around him, which were mainly caused by said physique.

But whenever he would complain about it to any of his brothers he would always get the same three responses.

“Jotaro, there are people that are dying” Jonathan would remind him.

“Being hot is our god given gift, and our purpose is to fill the hearts of everyone around us with envy or desire!” Joseph would tell him.

“It’s not that bad, maybe you’re just getting too old to handle it” Josuke would scoff at him.

Jotaro could only glare at each of them in return.

Jonathan had settled down with his Omega, Erina, when they were just 16. He had therefore been able to avoid the majority of the harassment that came of being a Joestar alpha. His opinion was therefore irrelevant

Joseph instead absolutely loved the attention that came with being a Joestar-alpha. Although he would never date any of the people clinging to his arms, he had found many great uses of them. Like getting free homemade lunches every day, or having his homework done for him at times. And being one of the most well-known and talked about in all of their high school wasn’t something that he was complaining about either. Joseph’s opinion was thus irrelevant as well.

Josuke, on the other hand, had yet to even start high school. He had therefore yet to experience the hell that it could be. When he would finally start high school next year, Jotaro would only laugh at the grief it would without a doubt bring him. So for now, Josuke’s opinion was just as irrelevant as those of Jonathan and Joseph.

When in school Jotaro would always make sure to cherish his half an hour lunch break as well as he possibly could. It was the one time of the day where he could slip away from the constant stream of alphas, betas and omegas, that were for one reason or another trying to grab his attention. Weather it was practically every beta and omega within the walls of his high school, desperately throwing themselves at him, or aggressive alphas who didn’t like that he was hogging all the attention.

Hogging was however not a great word to explain how Jotaro felt about the whole situation, since it implied that he was doing it on purpose. He would be more than willing get rid of the overwhelming attention given to him by said betas and omegas. No amount of shouting or threatening had however worked to get them of his back. If anything it had only made it worse, since it was a way of displaying dominance. So he had no choice but to accept this as just another part of his everyday life. To accept to be followed around, grabbed and practically drooled over for five and a half hours a day, five days a week.

The lunch break was thus the time of day Jotaro looked forward to the most. He was able to become fully anonymous when his classmates would be moving about in their friend groups while chatting loudly. Jotaro would be able to sneak past everyone in the room, and quickly make his way towards the roof, which was the one sacred spot nobody would ever follow him. Partially because it was against school rules, and partially because of the locked door that guarded it.

Luckily there were a total of five students who were allowed the keys to all school doors- the prefects. Four of these students had already been scared off by Jotaro enough to not even considering entering the area, and the final one was Muhammad Avdol. Avdol was a part of Jotaro’s closest group of friends, and he luckily understood and sympathized with what Jotaro had to put up with on a daily basis. Which is how the roof had ended up being their go to lunch spot.

Jotaro quickly made his way up the staircase leading to the roof, now standing outside of said locked door. He knocked on it, three fast ones followed by four slow ones. Their secret code that only he, Avdol, and Polnareff knew of. Polnareff had originally wanted their secret knock to be an exact rendition of the first ten seconds of the French national anthem. This idea had however quickly been scrapped, since Polnareff would be furious whenever Jotaro would have just one of the knocks be off by one tenth of a second. So they had instead settled on the slightly easier three fast four slow system.

The door swung open, revealing Avdol grinning down at him, Polnareff standing just behind with a similar expression.

“What took you so long, Joestar? Avdol and I were beginning to think you had stood us up for somebody else” Polnareff said, moving aside as Jotaro walked past him. The three of them started making their way over to their usual corner, which was always out of the early autumn sun’s unforgivingly hot rays.

“Yeah, we thought you might have finally given up and taken one of those people clinging to you on a date” Avdol added, letting out a brisk laugh.

“Ew” Jotaro replied immediately, which made Polnareff laugh as well.

“Don’t be like that” the Frenchman continued. “I would gladly exchange places with you, I wouldn’t mind getting in on some of that omega action”

“Just yesterday you were complaining that you didn’t have an alpha”

“That’s the best part about being a beta, I get the best of both worlds. Or are you maybe disappointed that you didn’t get a chance to get a piece of this, Avdol?” Polnareff replied and flexed one of his arms, kissing the bulging bicep. Jotaro let out an amused snort at this.

“Are you implying that the offer is not on the table anymore?” Avdol asked, pretending to be offended. “How could you do this to me, Jean-Jierre Jealnareff? He finished in an overexaggerated French accent, while clutching at his heart dramatically.

Jotaro took a seat on the ground, leaning his back towards the wall behind him and fishing his lunchbox out of his bag. After a few moments of Polnareff swatting at Avdol with a magazine, the two of them finally settled down next to him.

“All this constant talk of courting is starting to stress me out” Avdol confessed. “We’re almost eighteen, and all of us are still single. Isn’t it time for us to start thinking about settling down with someone soon?”

“I am thinking about it, I just haven’t found anyone to do it with yet” Polnareff replied and folded his arms behind his head. “Besides, we are all still young and beautiful, I’m not in a rush”

“sixty percent of people have already found their mate by the time they turn eighteen” Avdol commented. Jotaro silently scoffed at this. It seemed like even Avdol had managed to catch the ‘mate fever’ that it always felt like was going around the school.

“So what if we’re in the remaining forty percent?” Polnareff replied, waving his fork at Avdol. “If all goes to hell we could just all get mated to each other”. At this both Jotaro and Avdol let out an audible chuckle.

“I honestly think I’d rather stay alone for the rest of my life” Jotaro said, his voice serious but with a slight smile playing on his lips.

“Ditto” Avdol agreed. “You’re on your own, Polnareff”. Polnareff pretended to be hurt by this, but a bright smile was also evident on his own face. Shortly afterwards their conversations shifted elsewhere, their earlier talk of mating soon to be forgotten.

***************

Jotaro’s sacred half hour ended up passing way too quickly, as it always did. The school bell rang, signalling that classes would begin in just a few minutes. The three boys quickly gathered their things and made their way down from the rooftop. Jotaro looked over his schedule. His next class would apparently be biology. It was one of his favourite subjects, and when he graduated in a couple of years he had plans of working towards becoming a marine biologist.

He said his goodbyes to Polnareff and Avdol, each of them going off in a different direction. A second bell went off, signalling the start of class. Jotaro raised his speed and ducked into the noisy classroom. He was as usual greeted by a choir of “Jojo” as he made his way towards the back of the classroom. He opted for ignoring them as he normally did.

He had just taken his usual seat by the window in the very back row when the teacher emerged. She immediately started explaining that todays lesson would introduce a new two-week long assignment. That would be made in groups of four.

Jotaro’s stomach immediately dropped. He hated groupwork for several reasons. First of all, most people in his class didn’t give two shits about their grades, while Jotaro always strived towards getting the highest grade he could in biology, as he would need it after he graduated. Second of all, he didn’t really know anyone in the class. He did spend most of his time trying to avoid everyone after all.

He noticed that several omega females in the front of the class had turned toward him, trying to make eye contact. Jotaro refused to meet their eyes, instead focusing on the teacher explaining the subject matter of the assignment at hand. As soon as she finished the girls hurried over to Jotaro’s seat.

“Hey Jojo, you want to be in my group?”

“Jojo, we have a spot saved for you!”

“He won’t be in your group he’s gonna be with me

“Why would Jojo join your group when he could join our?”

“Jojo I’ll do anything you want, please choose me!”

“My dad is really rich, I can pay you to be in my group!”

“SHUT UP!” Jotaro yelled out, finally having had enough of their endless bickering. The girls however didn’t quiet down, but they did eventually form their own groups, leaving him alone. Guess they didn’t want to get stuck with people they didn’t want to work with, since they already knew that Jotaro would reject all their propositions. Jotaro let out an inaudible sigh and looked around the class. It looked like most people had already gathered into groups of four, only a few people remaining in their original seats.

“Could anyone that doesn’t already have a group please join up by the cabinets in the back?” their teacher announced loudly, trying to speak up over the loud buzz coming from the students.

Jotaro got up reluctantly and threw his bag over his shoulder, making his way over to the opposite side of the room. Three other students were already seated there, already seemingly deep in conversation. Jotaro sat down in the closest available seat, tuning in to the ongoing chatter coming from an obnoxious sounding alpha that was sitting in front of him.

“Me and my family actually have our own private island of the coast of Italy. Or was it maybe Spain? Possibly France? Anyhow, it has a whole private mansion that is both sound- and scent-proof, perfect for taking some time off during a heat”. The alpha said, his voice practically dripping with suggestion. He was sitting next to a red headed omega Jotaro hadn’t seen before, heavily leaning into him and clearly trying to tower over him.

Great, Jotaro thought to himself. Not only did he end up in the same group as someone who obviously gave zero fucks about the assignment, but he also had to be an absolute creep. Jotaro recognizes the alpha as one of the spoiled delinquents that are constantly side eyeing him for no apparent reason.

The omega he is practically drooling over looks very uncomfortable at the alpha’s suggestions, clearly trying to lean away from him. The alpha does however not seem to get the hint, and keeps on leaning even closer. Or perhaps he simply doesn’t give two shits about how uncomfortable the other is. He certainly seems like the type to completely disregard anyone’s feelings as long as he gets what he wants.

“I don’t think so, dude” The omega lets out in a clearly disinterested way. Jotaro notices that he shifts his arm so that his elbow is now pressing down on the alpha’s fingers, which are resting on his own desk. The alpha lets out a grunt and quickly retracts his hand. His face is however still adorned with a disgustingly mischievous smirk.

“I don’t even know your name, and you-“

“It’s Trent, sweetheart. I’m co-captain of the football team and I have a six inch-“

“Could we actually get on with the assignment? I would rather not be stuck here for the rest of the evening” The female beta luckily interrupted him, looking bored about the whole exchange. The alpha scoffs but lets up on the omega, whose shoulders instantly relax considerably.

The assignment consists of them producing two reports on two different species, one aquatic and one terrestrial. The beta, Jotaro believes that her name is Mia, quickly takes charge and decides that it would be most efficient if they pair up two and two.

“I can write about either group. Does anyone have any particular preference?” Mia asked and looked around at the rest of the group expectantly. Jotaro cleared his throat.

“I’d prefer to be on aquatic” He said. Better to be safe and immediately claim one of the spots for himself.

“I’m on the land-thingy then!” Trent says immediately afterwards, clearly not looking to be in the same group as Jotaro. Jotaro is immensely thankful for this, as there are few people in the world that he'd want to work with less than this asshole.

“Great, how about you?” Mia asked as she turned towards the omega. Jotaro noticed that Trent’s hand had returned to his desk, dangerously close to grabbing a hold of his wrist. It was clear that he was suggesting that the omega should join him.

“Well, my dad happens to be a marine biologist, so I am quite familiar with the subject” The red head answered quickly. Jotaro’s eyes immediately shoot over to look at him, and their eyes lock for a brief second.

Jotaro doesn’t think he has ever seen anyone with such bright eyes before. They almost look purple under the bright classroom lights.

They omega quickly averted his gaze back towards Mia. His cheeks had however turned slightly pink in colour. Jotaro now instead finds himself eyeing the boy’s… interesting hairstyle, which was made up of a long, wavy bang in his otherwise seemingly straight, short cut hair. Jotaro quickly decides that the hair strangely suits him. The pinkish red hue of it perfectly matching with the earrings hanging from the boy’s ears. Jotaro squints his eyes a little. Are those cherries? Is he actually walking around with depictions of cherries hanging from his ears?

Jotaro was suddenly pulled out of his own thoughts as Mia spoke up again, confirming their decided groupings.

“We can meet up in a few days to see how far we’ve all gotten” she stated as she threw her backpack over her shoulder. “Let’s go find a room to work in, Trent”. Trent muttered something under his breath but withdrew his hand from the omega’s desk. He gave Jotaro one final, long glare, before finally getting up and following her towards the door. Both Jotaro and the omega turn to watch him until he turns around the corner and disappears from their line of sight. Jotaro turned his eyes toward the red head instead. He could see him mutter something under his breath as absently played with the spine of his notebook.

Jotaro realizes that he still doesn’t know the others name. He opens his mouth to ask but is interrupted before he has the chance to say anything.

“We should probably get going as well?” it came out more as a question than a suggestion, but Jotaro only grunted in response before quickly standing up and heading towards the classroom door. He could hear quick footsteps behind him trying to catch up with his long strides. As he walks past one of the girl groups at the front of the class he could hear low mutterings and a few jealous remarks coming from them, as would be expected. Jotaro simply ignores them and steps out into the corridor. He turns to look at the omega behind him, confirming that he is indeed following him.

“There are usually some available rooms at the end of the hall. Let’s go there”. Before the other has a chance to respond Jotaro started making his way down the hall. A second set of footsteps quickly picks up behind him again.

They make their way down the hall in silence. Luckily one of the rooms is indeed empty. Not that it would have been a problem if it wasn’t, as Jotaro could easily have made and eventual dwellers leave with a single glare. Jotaro puts down all of his stuff on one of the desks as the front, taking out some of his textbooks. The omega sits down right across from him. He begins to tap idly at the desk.

“So” the omega said. Jotaro gives him a quick look over, before returning his attention towards the book he’s currently flipping through. Another few moments of awkward silence pass.

“Jojo, was it? I believe that girl called you that?” he spoke with a hint of uncertainty lining his voice.

“It’s Jotaro” Jotaro replied. “Jojo is just a stupid nickname they keep using for some reason”. At this the other boy let’s out a nervous laugh.

“I see”

He gives Jotaro a tentative smile and pulls his fingers through his hair. Jotaro notices that it looks exceptionally soft. He probably uses conditioner and some fancy hair products. Probably ones that smell sweet and fruity.

“I’m Noriaki Kakyoin by the way, but please call me Kakyoin. I just transferred here a few days ago so I don’t believe we’ve met”

Jotaro meets his eyes again, finally having a name to put with his face. Kakyoin smiled politely at him, his eyes crinkling a bit at the corners as he does so. Jotaro is once again transfixed at the colour of  them. They look even more purple in this more natural lighting as opposed to the bright lights of the classroom. There is a sense of gentleness just beneath the surface of them, as opposed to the obvious lust and want that most omegas regard Jotaro with. It is a nice welcomed change that Jotaro does not mind one bit.

“I do believe I’ve heard your name in passing before” Kakyoin continued thoughtfully. “Some people were discussing the time you supposedly managed to smuggle two bottles of tequila into school by hiding them in your shirt?” It comes out more as a question and Kakyoin looks at him expectantly.

“Wasn’t me, was my brother Joseph” Jotaro replies, hiding his eyes behind the brim of his cap. Of course he has already heard of his brother’s stupid misdemeanours. And of course said misdemeanours are affiliated with Jotaro as well.

“He also called Jojo?”

“Both me and all of my three brothers are called that”

At this Kakyoin let’s out a laugh and Jotaro looks up at him again.

“I also heard a rumour that you were getting married, I’m guessing that’s one of your brothers as well?”

“Yeah, that’s Jonathan”

Kakyoin hums thoughtfully. Silence falls between them as Kakyoin leans down to take out his own books. He stacks them up in a neat pile, and Jotaro watches as he opens up a page in a notebook. The page is packed with a mixture of notes from classes as well as bunch of smaller doodles. Mostly of cats and cherries from what Jotaro can tell.

“So, Jotaro” Kakyoin started off and Jotaro is abruptly ripped away from his own thoughts. His eyes fly up from the notebook to meet Kakyoin’s, who is already looking at him, resting his chin on the palm of his hand.

“You have any suggestions of what we could write about? Judging by your notebook I’m guessing that you might have at least a couple of ideas” Kakyoin lets out a slight chuckle and gestures toward one of Jotaro’s notebooks, that are messily scattered in front of him. Jotaro doesn’t even have to look down to know that he means the one whose cover is full of scribbles of various breeds of dolphins, starfish, and with the occasional salt water fish thrown in there. He can feel his face heating up. Kakyoin has a slight teasing grin on his lips. Jotaro retaliates by letting his eyes flash to red for just a moment, and watches as Kakyoin twitches backwards a bit.

“Point taken, I won’t try to make fun of your little fishy-friends” Kakyoin said jokingly as he throws his hands up in the air, while turning his head to the side in submission to expose a bit of his neck. A beautifully pale and elongated neck. That does not have any signs of a bonding mark on it. Jotaro quickly averts his eyes, trying to focus his brain on the topic at hand.

“Don’t make fun of starfish, they are cooler than you would think” Jotaro said with a slight furrow in his brows. He doesn’t miss the way Kakyoin hides his smile behind one of his hands.

“What kind of marine life does your dad work with? we could write about something like that if you’d like” Jotaro offers up. Kakyoin’s smile immediately drops.

“Oh” he replied, the playfulness of their precious conversation suddenly gone. Kakyoin goes to scratch at the back of his neck, seemingly thinking his next words over.

“You see, my dad’s not actually a marine biologist. I might have just made that up so I didn’t end up in the same group as that ‘I-have-a-house-in-Spain-where-nobody-can-hear-you-scream’ guy. He came off as insanely creepy and even though you’re really tall and intimidating and all that I took a gamble that you couldn’t possibly be worse than him”. Kakyoin’s voice trails off, his hands moving restlessly over the desk.

Jotaro ponders over his words for a moment. Having people clinging to you against your will was something he was more than familiar with. But in his own case he knew that he wouldn’t have any trouble stopping anyone who went too far. In Kakyoin’s case this might be different. Manipulative alphas had their own ways of making an omega submit to them, by using the omega’s own biology against them. Forced bonding by simply bite-marking an omega’s neck was still something that happened all too often throughout the world. And although the alpha’s bite would not be permanent unless the omega wished for it to be, the omega would still develop feelings of compassion toward the Alpha until the marks had completely faded.

“I can’t really blame you about that” Jotaro said and gives a slight shrug. The tightness in Kakyoin’s shoulder visibly loosen at his response.

“I’m guessing from the reactions of some of the people in our class that you might experience similar things a lot as well?”

Jotaro nodded.

“I’ve got cursed genes. It’s something that both me and all my brothers have to deal with” Kakyoin let’s out a bright laugh and Jotaro gives him a small smile in return.

“What, is it a gene that causes you to be all tall, dark and handsome or what not?” Kakyoin seems to regret the words as soon as he has said them out loud, and he tilts his head downwards so that the wavy piece of hair covers his face.

“Pretty much” Jotaro replied, smirking slightly before quickly changing the subject. “So I’m thinking starfish”

Kakyoin’s head re-emerged from behind his hair, a confused look evident on his face.

“Starfish?”

“For the project”

“Oh! Right” Kakyoin exclaimed. “Why starfish though?”

“They have a lot of really neat features that most people don’t really know about. Like how their arms all actually have hundreds of little feet that they move around with. Or that they can even regenerate their own arms, but it can take everything from a few months up to years to do so”. Jotaro finds himself to be practically rambling, which is something that only tends to happen when he gets the chance to talk to someone about marine life. Kakyoin is still looking right at him, like he is expecting him to continue. Jotaro cleared his throat.

“And, that’s about it. I guess” his voice close to being a mumble.

“Well, it sounds like you’ve got it all figured out then” Kakyoin said and let out a huff of laughter. “How about we get started then?”. Jotaro just grunts in response.

They both start skimming through their textbooks, writing down the page numbers of anything that could be of interest in Kakyoin’s overly-doodled notebook. Kakyoin draws a little symbol next to each number, and Jotaro thinks that it is so cute that he has to turn away and gather his thoughts for a moment.

They keep working until they are suddenly interrupted by the bell going off, signalling the end of class. The sudden noise making both of them jump.

“We could meet up some time tomorrow to continue, if you have time?” Kakyoin suggested, standing up and packing all his belongings into his bag.

“Maybe during lunch, if you want to” Jotaro answered.

“Sure thing!” Kakyoin said as he adjusted his bag strap over his shoulder “I got to run now, my next class is on the complete other side of campus”. He raised his hand at Jotaro, giving him another one of those eye crinkling smiles.

“Mm, see you later” Jotaro responded, and Kakyoin was out the door. Jotaro lets out a breath that he didn’t even realize that he was holding in. He gathered all his stuff into his own bag.

Just as he stands up, he realizes that he for the first time in his life had made plans with someone other than Avdol and Polnareff for lunch.

And in all honesty, he didn’t mind the idea of spending it alone with Kakyoin one bit.

Well, this day had certainly turned out to be interesting.

Chapter Text

Changing high schools had almost become a routine at this point. It would begin with his father getting a promotion, which in turn would lead to their family having to move cities. Kakyoin had changed schools close to every year since he started first grade.

He did partially blame all the moving around on why he didn’t end up having any friends at any of these schools. Sometimes other kids would try to make small talk with him or invite him over to play with them. Kakyoin would however always turn them down. What would even be the point? He would eventually have to move away anyways. And if he didn’t get attached to anyone it was always a lot less painful to do so.

Today was his first day of his latest high school. This had to be the fourth or fifth one he would be attending. He had honestly lost count at this point.

Kakyoin went about his first day as he had done many times before. Go to the principal’s office, collect his schedule and a map over the school grounds, head over to homeroom and introduce himself to the rest of the class. It wasn’t anything he hadn’t done before.

His first day, thankfully, passed uneventfully. Aside from a few questioning glances nobody tried approaching him. Kakyoin instead spent the day homing in on the conversations going on around him, trying to learn as much about his school as possible. About what was currently going on, and most importantly, about who to avoid.

At his lunch break he decided to sit close to a group of mostly omega girls who were chatting loudly with each other. He always found that these sorts of groups seemed to have all the latest news and gossip, and that they would discuss it loudly enough for anyone to hear.

“We should all make a pact. About who we will ask to the dance”

“That is still four months away”

“You can never get started too quickly. I call Jojo!” The other girls let out noises of clear distress at this.

“Not fair! You can’t just call somebody like that”

“Well, I just did!”

“Jojo as in the tequila-smuggling one?”

“Yes!”

“Then I want the other one!”

“Not if I ask him first”

Kakyoin realized that he had quickly lost track of their conversation. Not that it seemed to be very interesting for what he was after in the first place. Whoever were considered the hottest alpha’s on campus wasn’t really anything he needed to know. It wasn’t like he was searching for one anyways.

“I was already asked to the dance actually” one of the girls exclaimed proudly.

“No way! Who was it?”

“That weird French beta. You know, the one with the weird hair?”

“Oh, what did you say?”

“I told him no. I don’t really want to go to the dance with a beta

“You probably only did it because he has bigger boobs than you”

“He does not! I said no because I’m going to ask Dio”

“But I was going to ask Dio!”

“You can take the Frenchie instead since you seem to like his boobs so much!”

Kakyoin decided that it was time to officially zone out from their chattering. He felt like he has heard enough unrelated gossip to last him for the rest of the month.

The next couple days continued in a similar fashion. Kakyoin simply kept his head down and tried to avoid attracting any unnecessary attention. Whenever somebody spoke to him he would act polite, but always try to keep himself unmemorable. He wanted to be practically invisible.

This worked surprisingly well until his fourth day. The unexpected groupwork in biology class did however end up breaking his lucky streak. Since he doesn’t know anybody in the entire school he has no choice but to let faith decide who he will partner up with.

And faith apparently decided that he deserved to suffer that day. Because of course his first official group member had to be the kind of douchey alpha that he would prefer to avoid at all costs. And of course said alpha had to start making inappropriate suggestions at him as soon as he sat down.

Kakyoin was too busy refreshing his memory of every ancient torture method he could think of to even notice the other two people taking their seats nearby. It wasn’t before Mia decided to cut of the alpha in the middle of one of his especially lewd comments that Kakyoin noticed that they were no longer alone.

The beta would then continue talking, pretending as if nothing had been going on. Kakyoin felt himself spacing out as he took a proper look around at his designated group members. Mia seemed alright, at least. The two other alphas on the other hand gave off very different vibes. Kakyoin could almost taste the tension between them in his throat. The blonde one still had an underlying scent of disgusting want coming off him. Kakyoin could see him still trying to make eye contact with him, and opted for observing the dark-haired alpha instead.

The majority of his face, his eyes included, were obscured by the brim of the cap he is wearing. His arms were crossed over his quite well-defined chest. Kakyoin silently curses himself out for even noticing the others build.

The alpha definitely gives off an intimidating aura. He is everything an ideal alpha should be after all, at least look-wise. But he also seems to be calm and secure, the exact opposite of the light-haired alpha seated in front of him.

Kakyoin’s thoughts are suddenly interrupted as the dark-haired alpha suddenly speaks up. Apparently they are now splitting up into pairs, which Kakyoin embarrassedly realizes he had completely missed while he was busy eyeing up the man in front of him.

Kakyoin gave a quick prayer to any gods that may be listening that he would end up working with the beta. But as usual, faith has other plans. Plans that end up with him forcing to pick which of the alphas he would rather work with. Which in and on itself is a very easy choice. The alpha known as Trent has returned his hands to Kakyoin’s desk, one of his fingers stroking up his wrist slowly.

God, he can’t wait to get those hands away from in.

His mind races to make up an excuse to not have to work with Trent. Lying about his father’s job might not be the smartest idea, but at least it gets the job done. Trent immediately let’s up on him, a strong sour scent now coming off him in waves. Kakyoin can’t help but smirk slightly to himself at the others change in mood.

Then Mia and Trent end up leaving, and he is all alone with the alpha who is apparently known as Jojo. Kakyoin silently cursed Trent out from under his breath. He couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief washing over him as he watches him walk out of his line of sight.

He turned his eyes towards the remaining alpha and suggests that they should get going as well. He only received a grunt in reply, and Jojo immediately stands up and starts heading off as well. Kakyoin quickly shoved his things back into his bag and hurried after him.

He could feel the burning hatred and jealousy coming off a group of omegas as they pass them. Their attention is clearly pointed towards him. Kakyoin only shoots them a dirty look in response. It wasn’t his fault that he ended up being partners with Mr. tall and handsome, like they clearly all yearned after so badly. Kakyoin still remembers the conversation he overheard a few days earlier, which lets him know that the alpha he is currently following is quite sought after by a large chunk of the local omega population.

They soon ended up alone in one of the spare rooms just down the hallway. Kakyoin quickly learned that the alpha doesn’t seem to say a lot, neither with his words or with his expressions. His eyes are still hidden underneath that godforsaken hat of his, making him even harder to read.

Kakyoin almost started to regret his decision of pairing up with him when he notices the dolphins covering one of the alpha’s notebooks. He bites back a smile at the revelation. A bad guy wouldn’t have sparkly, bright blue dolphins doodled on his notebook, would he?

As they start talking Kakyoin quickly realizes that Jotaro is not what he thought he would be. He doesn’t seem to mind Kakyoin’s teasing and his apparent interest in starfish is quite endearing.

When they eventually get properly started with their assignment Kakyoin finally gets the chance to take a proper look at the alpha in front of him. His hat has been angled away from his face and Kakyoin can now properly see his eyes.

They are a striking emerald green colour, and Kakyoin can immediately feel himself drowning in them. His long eyelashes and thick, slightly furrowed brows also don’t help one bit. Kakyoin immediately understands the other omegas’ reactions towards him.

Kakyoin silently curses himself out as he feels his own cheeks heat up. This was not according to the plan at all. He tried to calm his now rapid heartbeat.

He refused to fall for an alpha he had known for a total of twenty minutes.

Kakyoin jumped slightly as the bell suddenly rang, signalling the end of class. Jotaro looked up from his books and their eyes met for a split second. Kakyoin can feel his heart start racing again.

Fucking omega biology.

He quickly made up an excuse about his next class being on the other side of campus and hurried off. Hopefully Jotaro hadn’t noticed how stirred up he had become. He could feel his heartbeat returning to normal as he hastily made his way down the corridor.

He was fine. None of that necessarily had to mean anything.

He quickly checked over his schedule. Art was going to be his next and final class for the day. He let out a breath of relief at this. In art class he could hopefully just take a seat in a corner and ignore everyone around him. People wouldn’t even think there was anything strange about it, and would hopefully just believe that he was just another passionate art student.

Kakyoin arrived at the classroom a good few minutes before the class is about to start. The room consists of a number of larger tables, that they are obviously supposed to share.

Great. Not even here he could be alone.

Kakyoin silently scanned through the people already seated. He knows that people from all years are mixed together, so he is even unsure of which students are in his grade.

Most tables are already seemingly full, people chatting loudly among each other. He noticed that one of the tables however still had just one occupant. An omega who was already bent over a sketchbook, doing quick confident strokes over the pages. He seemed to be completely engulfed in his drawing and doesn’t even look up as Kakyoin takes the seat opposite him. Kakyoin however doesn’t mind this one bit, enjoying the few moments of silence before the rest of the seats around the table inevitably end up occupied as well.

Just as he predicted, a few more people are soon seated as his table. Luckily none of them are paying him any mind either.

“You mind if I sit here?”

Kakyoin turned his head and looked up at a blonde beta dressed in an interesting mix of sky blue and bright pink. He had a polite smile on his face as he gestured to the seat next to Kakyoin.

“Oh. Sure, no problem” Kakyoin replied, shifting slightly to the side as the beta sits down next to him.

“You new here? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before?” the beta asked as he looked him up down.

“Yeah, I just transferred here a few days ago. Name’s Kakyoin”

“I’m Caesar, nice to meet you” the other boy offered, holding out his hand, smiling brightly at Kakyoin as he shook it. Caesar then starts making small talk with him, telling him stories about various things that has happened around campus.

“Could you please keep it down, some people are trying to work here” an unfamiliar voice hissed out. The boy across from them who had previously been caught up in his sketching was now glaring straight at them.

“Shut it, we’re not in a fucking church” Caesar replied curtly, like he they had this conversation several times before.

“Doesn’t mean that you have to shout!”

“You’re the only one shouting here, you know”

Shut up!”

Caesar let out a snort at the others clear irritation. He then turned back towards Kakyoin.

“That’s Rohan, don’t mind him he’s just a fucking gremlin”

“Stop calling me that you fucking bottle of mediocre dressing-” Rohan was suddenly interrupted by a new voice being added to the mix.

“Gentlemen, there’s no need to fight” the voice was almost alarmingly calm and practically dripping with the semblance of alpha. Kakyoin quickly turned his head over his shoulder to regard the newcomer, who is standing right behind him.

His hair was a similar shade to Caesar’s, but that seems to be the only thing they have in common. This man is a lot broader, and taller, and immediately gives of a strong aura of alpha. Kakyoin’s eyes snap up to look at the others face, only to find that he is already looking straight at him. His head is slightly cocked to the side, a clear look of interest hidden somewhere deep in his yellow eyes.

The alpha breaks their eye contact to sit down in the vacant seat next to Kakyoin.

“Nobody said that you could sit down” Caesar said coolly, clearly not happy about the alpha joining them. The alpha however ignored him, instead choosing to keep all his attention fixed on Kakyoin.

“So, what’s your name?” he asked, his eyes not leaving Kakyoin’s for even a second.

“It’s Kakyoin. I’m a new transfer student”

The alpha hummed in approval, the sound low in his throat. He reached his hand out towards Kakyoin’s ear. Kakyoin felt himself freeze up as Dio gently poked at his earring.

Kakyoin, huh. It suits you”

Kakyoin immediately decided that he did not like the way his name sounded coming from those lips. Not one bit.

“I’m Dio Brando, a pleasure to make your acquaintance”

Kakyoin recalls the discussion that the omega girls were having a few days earlier. Dio had been one of the names thrown around in their conversation. So he was clearly someone that most people knew of. Kakyoin was not very surprised at this, as he understood why Dio would seem desirable to an omega. At least to those that didn’t spend a lot of their waking time actively trying to avoid such people, like Kakyoin himself did.

But before Kakyoin had time to come up with a reply their teacher had entered the room. Kakyoin felt as relief washed over him. There was a certain coldness in Dio’s eyes that he didn’t like. And Caesar’s reaction toward him joining them worried him as well.

The assignment of the day was to do some simple sketches of different types of landscapes. The room was quickly filled with a low buzz of voices as people begun talking among each other while getting to work.

Kakyoin and Caesar immediately hit it off, discussing which upcoming games they planned on purchasing. Kakyoin found him to be surprisingly easy to talk to. Every now and then Rohan would throw in a word about how annoying they were, but Kakyoin quickly learned to simply disregard it.

“Favourite final fantasy game in three, two, one”

“Seven”

“Ten”

But seven is so good!”

Have you even played the tenth one?”

“I have but it comes nowhere close to-“ Caesar suddenly trailed off as a splatter of paint without warning come flying straight at him, coating him in the dark green substance.

Rohan, what the fuck?!

“I told you to shut up” Rohan replied calmly, giving Caesar a slight smirk before turning his attention back to his sketchpad. Caesar cursed him out from under his breath.

“An important lesson to learn, Kakyoin, is to never wear your best clothes to art class. Because Rohan will undoubtedly fuck them up because he can’t stand people talking like normal human beings” Caesar let out an irritated huff at the end of his rant.

“I’ll be right back, I just have to get this shit out of my clothes before it stains” Caesar then quickly walked off towards the closest bathroom.

Kakyoin looked over at Rohan, who shot him another sharp glare, clearly warning him that he would be next if he didn’t lower his voice. Kakyoin only let out a snort at this, and went back to sketching at his current drawing of a desert, adding in a few palm trees.

“You’re pretty good”

Kakyoin nearly jumped out of his seat as Dio’s voice sounded directly into his ear. He could feel the warmth from his breath ghosting over his neck. Kakyoin felt a sense of uneasiness wash over him.

“Oh, thank you, Dio” He replied, deciding that he should probably at least attempt to stay polite with the alpha. Dio hummed slightly.

“Any particular locations that inspired it?”

“Well, I went to Egypt with my parents a few years back” Kakyoin disclosed, and tried to ignore the feeling of Dio’s breathing against his neck as he kept on drawing.

“Beautiful place” Dio agreed, leaning forward a bit. “I lived there for a few months a while back”

“I see” Kakyoin replied curtly, unsure of what to say. He simply continued to draw, while discreetly watching Dio from the corner of his eye. He noticed that Dio had given up on watching him sketch and was now looking directly at him again. But he didn’t say or do anything. He simply sat there, almost hovering over him but never actually touching him.

“Shouldn’t you be working on your own piece, Brando?”

Kakyoin turned his head towards Caesar, who had seemingly just returned from the washroom. He glared down at Dio with slightly narrowed eyes.

“I was simply admiring Kakyoin’s work” Dio replied sweetly, but backed off none the less. Kakyoin looked between the two men as Caesar took his seat again. The tension between them felt so strong you could cut it with a knife.

And in the blink of an eye everything seemed to turn back to normal again.

“Guess who managed to save his shirt” Caesar clapped his hands together excitedly as he smiled brightly at Kakyoin. “In your face, Rohan

Caesar and Kakyoin quickly got back on track of their previous discussion. They did however try to keep their voices down, so they wouldn’t warrant any more hissing noises from Rohan. Before Kakyoin knew it the bell had rung, signalling the end of the school day. People around him started to pack up and head out off the classroom, and Kakyoin did the same. Just as he was about to stand up, Caesar grabbed hold of his shoulder.

“Hey, you wanna swap numbers real quick? I want to send you the video of that speed-run I told you about earlier”

“Eh, sure” Kakyoin said hesitantly. “Let me just grab my phone”

He started to rummage through his bag, finally finding it at the very bottom of it, hidden underneath a whole days’ worth of textbooks. He fished it up and turned towards Caesar, whose earlier carefree expression had turned sour. Kakyoin quickly looked around and noticed that they were now left alone in the room.

“Listen, Kakyoin” Caesar begun, and Kakyoin turned his attention back towards him.

“You should watch out around Dio. He may seem charming eunough, but it is all an act. He is absolutely ruthless when things don’t go his way”

“Why?” Kakyoin asked wearily. “What has he done?”

Caesar let out a deep sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“It’s a long and complicated story, but he has these really sick ways of seeking revenge on the people that he feels have wronged him. One of my friends are one of those people, he actually ended up getting stabbed because Dio couldn’t handle not being the best at everything”

Kakyoin’s eyes widened at this.

“Is he okay?” Caesar just nodded in response.

“He’s fine. But there’s been lots of other rumours of things he’s done going around. But his family are all lawyers, so they usually succeed in keeping it on the down low. That’s why you’ll probably only hear people around here praising him” Caesar fell silent.

“I see” Kakyoin replied, an unnerving feeling settling in the pit of his stomach. “Thank you, Caesar. I’ll keep that in mind”

Caesar gives him a slight smile. They stand in silence for a few moments.

“Right! Could I still have your phone number? I wasn’t kidding about that speed-run”

Kakyoin happily agrees and they quickly swap numbers. Caesar then picks up all of his stuff and heads towards the door.

He hesitates just as he is about to walk out of the room, and turns back to face Kakyoin again.

“Please do be careful around Dio. I’ve hears rumours about the… things he has done to omegas’ in particular”

“I’ll be careful. Promise”

“Good. I guess I’ll see you later then” Caesar lifted his hand in a wordless goodbye and walked out the door. Just as Kakyoin was about to pick up his stuff his head poked around the doorframe again.

“And if he tries anything always punch for the throat” Kakyoin let’s out a quick laugh at this.

“I know how to fight, Caesar”

“Just making sure. Bye then!”

And then his head once again disappears, and Kakyoin can hear his footsteps moving away down the hall. Kakyoin throws his bag over his shoulder and follows out into the hallway. The school is almost entirely empty by now. Which wasn’t very surprising, very few people enjoyed being in school enough to actually stick around after the day had ended.

Kakyoin made his way towards the main entrance, and out into the slightly cool afternoon air. The sky had begun to darken ever so slightly. He should probably get a move on if he wanted to make it home before it turned completely dark. He started digging through his pockets for his headphones, as he began walking, turning down onto the road toward his house.

“Kakyoin”

He instantly froze in place.

That was without a doubt Dio’s voice. Kakyoin turned his head slightly as he watched Dio confidently march up to him, both hands deep in his pockets.

“What took you so long, I was beginning to think that you had gotten lost somewhere” Dio smiles at him.

“Ah, Caesar just wanted to show me something before we left” Kakyoin fiddled with his thumbs nervously. “Why are you still here, Dio?”

“I was hoping to get some company on my walk home. Luckily it seems we both live down the same road” Dio flashed him another smile. His eyes however still looked as cold as they had been back in the classroom.

Kakyoin could feel his mind spinning as he tried to come up with an excuse that would keep him as far away from Dio as possible.

“I wouldn’t want to bother you, you must be pretty tired-“

“Nonsense, you are far from being a bother, Kakyoin” Dio paused as he looked Kakyoin up and down. “Shall we?” He nodded slightly, signalling for Kakyoin to keep walking. Kakyoin’s mind is at a blank, and he simply does as suggested. Dio picks up his own pace as well, walking close by his side.

“Besides” Dio continued “It would be unfortunate if you were to walk home all alone and run into someone, troublesome

At the last few words he looked straight into Kakyoin’s eyes. Kakyoin could feel the hair on the back of his neck stand up.

“I know how to take care of myself, just because I’m an omega doesn’t mean I’m helpless” he countered. His words would hopefully be enough to make Dio back off.

Dio raised his hands in defeat and let out a slight chuckle.

“I’m sure you can, but it is always better to be safe than sorry, isn’t it?”

Kakyoin just stayed quiet. But Dio didn’t seem to mind his silence. Instead he started telling Kakyoin about his studies, every now and then asking Kakyoin a question, which he in return replied to as curly as possible.

Dio however did not let this faze him, as he kept on talking until Kakyoin could finally spot his own house appearing in the distance as they turn a corner.

He let out a slight sigh of relief as he stopped to a halt in front of the gate. Dio abruptly cuts off in the middle of his sentence.

“Oh, this is where you live?” he asked, his eyes still refusing to leave Kakyoin’s form.

“Yep. Bye then” Kakyoin replied dismissively as he turned to walk up to the gate. Dio’s arm quickly shot out in front of him, stopping him from moving away.

“I live just a few blocks down the road, we’re practically neighbours” Dio smiled at him.

“That’s nice, but I really should get inside-“

Kakyoin is once again cut off as Dio shifted to stand right in front of him, effectively blocking Kakyoin’s view of the front door. One of his hands comes to rest at the slight curve of Kakyoin’s waist, and Dio leans forward slightly.

Kakyoin stood frozen in shock.

Dio’s other hand moved up to tuck his wavy bang behind his ear, before lightly grabbing a hold of his chin. Kakyoin could feel Dio’s breath on him as he leaned downwards slightly. His stomach turned.

“I wouldn’t mind if you were to come over to my place for a bit, Kakyoin” Dio’s voice is nothing more than a whisper.

Kakyoin’s mind suddenly goes clear and he springs into action, giving Dio a sharp push, resulting in him taking a few staggering steps backwards.

“I’d rather not” Kakyoin said coldly, hoping that his voice won’t betray him as he can feel a slight tremble in his hands.

Dio looked taken aback for a moment, before he quickly slipped back into his previous confident smirk.

“I see-”

“And I would prefer it if you were to back off from now on”

They stand in silence for a few moments, Kakyoin only focused on keeping his breathing even.

“I’ll head off then, it was nice meeting you, Kakyoin” Dio said in an indifferent was, bowing his head slightly. He gave Kakyoin a final short glance, his expression unreadable, before he turned around and continued on down the road.

Kakyoin watched him until he finally turns a corner and is out of his sight. He willed his heart to calm down as he quickly opened the gate and slipped in through the front door. He immediately made a beeline for his room and threw himself down on the bed.

All he had wanted was a quiet, uneventful day.

But he had gotten anything but.

Faith had apparently decided that it was time to introduce a series of new assholes into his life. First that douchebag Trent, and then that absolute creep Dio who made his skin crawl. He felt thankful towards Caesar for at least warning him about the guy. At least he had been kind towards him today. Maybe they were even close to becoming friends. They had exchanged numbers after all.

And then there was Jotaro. The past hour of activity had been quite effective in keeping him off his mind. But now that he is back home and safe in his own room his thoughts started floating back to those bright green eyes of. That were almost tender, and were missing that aura of coldness that Dio’s emitted.

Kakyoin let his eyes shut for a moment. His brain too tired from the day’s events to do anything more productive. He slowly felt himself be lulled to sleep, dreaming of emerald green eyes and dark, messy hair.

Chapter Text

Jotaro groaned as his obnoxiously loud alarm went off. His hand emerged from underneath the blanket to try and shut it off by practically breaking the clock in half with the help of his clenched fist.

He was usually a morning person. But last night he had an unusually hard time falling asleep, his mind constantly going back to a certain omega he had met just the day before.

Jotaro didn’t understand what was wrong with him. It wasn’t like he had never spent time around another omega before. But his mind seemed to think that it was.

He let out a deep sigh as he sat up, resting his bare feet against the cool wooden floor. He tried to ignore the obvious tent in his boxers as he got up for his morning shower, in which he used considerably colder water than he normally would.

As he went downstairs after getting ready all three of his brothers were already seated around the kitchen table eating breakfast.

“Jotaro! You’re up unusually late” Jonathan commented as Jotaro poured himself an extra large cup of pitch-black coffee. Jotaro just mumbled in response, not one for small talk in the morning.

“As I was saying” Joseph continued, clearly having been interrupted by Jotaro’s entrance. “I ran into him yesterday and the dude seriously tried to make me trip me down the stairs, so I might have broken into his locker and I might have stolen a couple of bills out of his wallet”

“Joseph!” Jonathan exclaimed in a clearly unhappy tone.

“Who did you steal from?” Jotaro asked as he furrowed his brow, taking a sip of his bitter coffee as he took a seat at the table. He was not following this conversation at all.

“Our least favourite next-door neighbour. I just think of it as payback for all those stitches I had to get because of him”

“Joseph, you still shouldn’t steal from people” Jonathan tried to reason with him.

“He killed our dog”

“We don’t actually know if that was him”

The room fell silent as Joseph and Jonathan ceased their arguing. The air in the room had gotten uncomfortable at the mention of Danny, who had been killed under suspicious circumstances several years prior.

“Whatever, I’ve got an extra fifty bucks now. Who’s up for McDonalds?”

“Me!” Josuke immediately shouted out, waving his hand in Joseph’s face.

“McDonalds is for Saturdays only, Joseph”

“Shut up, Jonathan. Josuke is a growing boy, he needs the extra calories!”

“That’s right, I’m gonna end up being taller than all three of you!” Josuke claimed as he stuck his tongue out towards Jonathan teasingly.

“I hardly think that cheeseburgers will have much to do with your height, Josuke”

Jotaro stayed quiet sipping his coffee while the others argued about trivial things. Little arguments like these were common when your household consisted of four boys all on the line of reaching adulthood. Jonathan, being the oldest, had turned 19 just a couple of months back. He therefore had the most responsibility and control over what happened under their roof. That was the way it had been for the last two years, when their father had unexpectantly passed. Now it was just the four of them against the world, living in the house, borderlining on mansion, that had been left in their name.

Jotaro was pulled back from his little trip down memory lane as he noticed that Joseph was looking straight at him with questioning eyes. Jotaro quickly averted his gaze as he chugged down the last of his now lukewarm coffee.

“You seem distracted, Jotaro. Anything on your mind” Jotaro silently cursed him out as Jonathan and Josuke turned to look at him as well.

“Not really” Jotaro replied. “Just schoolwork and stuff”

“Oh! Speaking of schoolwork, I’m planning a party for tomorrow night!” Joseph exclaimed excitedly, clapping his hands together.

Jotaro furrowed his brows. “What does that have to do with schoolwo-“

“Am I allowed to come?” Josuke chipped in, practically vibrating with excitement.

“No, Josuke, you’re too young for any of Joseph’s events” was Jonathan’s immediate response. Josuke pouted at him.

“Can I have double McDonalds instead then?”

“…fine”

“Works for me!” Josuke said as he stood up, moving his dishes off the table. “I’m off to school then, see you later” He was out the room before any of the others had a chance to tell him goodbye.

“Who’s coming to your party?” Jotaro asked, silently hoping that it would be one of Joseph’s smaller gatherings for once.

“Everyone of importance, and a few dozen more” Joseph replied. Jotaro’s wish for a quiet night would apparently be out of the question then.

“You two can invite some people as well if you want” Joseph looked between Jonathan and Jotaro.

“I think I’ll at least invite Will and Speedwagon over”

“I already invited Speedwagon, nobody would even come around if it wasn’t for the legend himself” Joseph rested his chin in his hands as he focused his gaze on Jotaro expectantly. “How about you Jotaro?”

Jotaro simply gave off a slight shrug. “I’m probably just gonna invite Pol and Avdol over” Joseph let out a slight hum at this.

“If Polnareff throws up on the carpet again I’m going to cry” he warned. Jotaro let out a slight snort in response.

“I’ll be sure to tell him” he answered as he got up from the table. “I’ll be going now”

“See ya”

“Don’t cause any trouble now” Jonathan warned him. Jotaro just waved him off.

He pulled on his usual coat and secured his trademark cap on the top of his head, letting a couple strands of hair poke out from underneath it.

The air was unusually cold as he stepped outside. Autumn was approaching fast and Jotaro found himself already missing the summer. He really didn’t enjoy the cold. He buried hands deep in his pockets and started making his way towards the gate.

He stopped dead in his tracks when he noticed another person walking down the street from the corner of his eye. That blonde head of hair was unmistakably that of their next-door neighbour, Dio. But something seemed off about him today. Instead of walking the shortest route to school that he would normally take he was apparently taking a de-tour.

Jotaro decided not to ponder over this fact for very long. He should just be glad that it would be easier than usual to avoid Dio, since they were not exactly on the best of terms. Jotaro took a quick glance down at his watch. He should probably get going if he didn’t want to be late for homeroom. And the dark clouds in the distance seemed to promise rain in the near future. So he rid all his thoughts of Dio and walked off in the opposite direction.

**********

Jotaro’s first few classes, to his delight, went on uneventfully. By the time lunch came around it was pouring rain outside. He could hear a few people moan about it as he made his way towards the cafeteria, following the stream of people moving in the same direction. Jotaro decided to wait outside the hall until the crowd had thinned out. Since he was a head taller than everyone else it would still be easy enough for him to be spotted.

“Oi Jotaro!” he could hear Polnareff’s voice drift over the sea of people around him. Jotaro just watched on as Polnareff and Avdol made their way towards him.

“I guess eating on the roof will be out of the question for today. Polnareff suggested that we just be lazy and grab a table in the cafeteria” Avdol explained to Jotaro, gesturing towards the doors to said room.

“Oh” Jotaro replied, before pausing for a moment. Polnareff and Avdol looked at him expectantly.

“I won’t be able to eat with you guys today. I have other plans”

Avdol and Polnareff exchanged a quick look of slight disbelief.

“Why? What did we do? Please don’t dump us, I need more than one friend in my life” Polnareff rambled, giving Jotaro his best attempt at puppy-eyes. Their effect on Jotaro was extremely limited.

“It’s nothing like that, I just have a group assignment to work on” he quickly explained, before Polnareff would start to fake-cry or something equally embarrassing.

Avdol’s eyes narrowed slightly. “During lunchbreak? Assignments are normally worked un during class or free period”

“Yeah!” Polnareff agreed. “Using lunch break for anything other than eating should be considered a crime. You sure that you haven’t just given in to one of those omega’s wanting to go on a date and trying to cover for yourself?”

Jotaro shifted uncomfortably at Polnareff’s choice of words. It was just studies, nothing more. Even though he might have wanted it to be something more. He adjusted his hat so that it would cover more of his face, his cheeks reddening slightly.

“No. Sorry” he replied quickly. “But if you’re serious about getting a table you should probably get going”

“Just you wait until we get back, I am going to interrogate you so hard” Polnareff threatened, looking Jotaro straight in the eye.

“Jotaro is right though, let’s get going, Pol” Avdol said and grabbed a hold of Polnareff’s wrist, practically pulling him away. Jotaro could feel Polnareff’s curious gaze on him until Avdol had finally pushed him through the doorway.

Jotaro let out and audible sigh and leaned his head back towards the wall. He however didn’t get many moments of rest until he heard several voices calling out towards him. They had most likely been waiting until was completely alone.

“Jojo!”

“I’ve saved you a seat if you need it”

“Aren’t you gonna have lunch Jojo?”

Jotaro groaned as he was soon surrounded by a small group of omegas, each of them looking up at him with hopeful and hungry eyes.

“Fuck off” Jotaro replied flatly. He heard a few giggles emerge among the omegas at this as they shifted even closer. They just continued rambling on about whatever unwanted propositions they had for him today.

“Jotaro!”

Jotaro’s head snapped up as a familiar voice called out to him. Kakyoin was standing a mere few meters away, smiling hesitantly at him. Jotaro immediately found himself stepping away from the girls as he moved towards him. He could hear the disappointed murmurs coming from behind him, but he simply ignored them. He instead focused his gaze on Kakyoin, who was looking back at him, a smile still present on his lips.

“Hey” Jotaro said, burying his hands in his pockets. Kakyoin let out a slight chuckle.

“Hey. You know any place we could go work? I’m guessing the cafeteria is pretty full by now” Kakyoin tucked a piece of hair behind his ear as he spoke.

“There’s a corridor on the second floor that is usually quiet, let’s go there” Jotaro answered. He risked a quick glance behind him. The omegas were still huddled in a small group, watching their exchange intently.

“Sure thing, you mind leading the way?” Kakyoin said. Jotaro nodded, and started making his way up the nearby stairs, Kakyoin immediately falling in step beside him.

Jotaro’s mind began racing for something to say. He had always sucked at making small talk with people. And the slight feeling of nervousness that washed over him with Kakyoin so close at his side didn’t make it any easier.

“So, uh, how are you liking school so far? Since you’re new and all that”

Kakyoin seemed to ponder over the question for a moment.

“It’s pretty similar to my last one, so it’s been pretty easy to fit in. And most people have been really nice to me so that’s always a plus”  Jotaro hummed lightly in acknowledgement.

“And the teachers seem to be really good as well. Apart from a couple of them or so. But that’s how it almost always is. For some reason it’s always the gym teachers that are the worst. I’m not sure why that is”

Kakyoin kept talking as they made their way down the corridor. Jotaro spotted an empty table in between two small sofas. “Let’s sit here” he said and gestured towards it.

Kakyoin stopped his rambling and looked towards the table. “Oh! Looks comfy” He gave Jotaro a slight smile.

They sat down on opposite sides of it and pulled out their lunches as well as their schoolbooks. Jotaro just had a couple of sandwiches with him, not really a fan of cooking unless it was absolutely necessary for him to do so. Kakyoin on the other hand opened up a bento box, filled to the brim with various types of dishes.

Jotaro watched as he took out a pair of chopsticks and started eating, bringing some noodles up to his lips, slurping them up loudly. Kakyoin must have noticed him staring, as he met Jotaro’s eyes momentarily, before looking down at the sandwich in Jotaro’s hands.

“Would you like to try something? It’s all really good” he offered, pushing the box a bit closer to Jotaro.

“No it’s fine” Jotaro replied, looking away.

“You sure? That sandwich doesn’t look very filling” Jotaro watched as Kakyoin picked up something with the chopsticks, bringing it towards him. “Here, try some, my mom makes the best Tamagoyaki”

“What is it exactly?” Jotaro asked, looking at the yellow roll of food being held out towards him.

“An omelette of sorts” Kakyoin replied. “Come on now, open up!”

Jotaro stared at the chopsticks in Kakyoin’s hand, now a mere few centimetres away from his face. He opened his mouth slightly, and felt as Kakyoin brought the piece of food into his mouth before withdrawing the chopsticks. Jotaro chewed slowly as he tried to keep his cheeks from turning red.

“It’s really nice” he said, adjusting his hat slightly.

“Told you!” Kakyoin smiled brightly at him. “You can have some more if you want, my mom always packs way too much for me anyways”

Jotaro shook his head slightly and tried to ignore the slight flush on his cheeks. “No, it’s fine. But thanks anyway” He decided to occupy his mind by opening one of his books and flip through it idly. From the corner of his eye he could see Kakyoin doing the same, while still shoving food into his mouth at an alarming rate.

They started going over their notes from the day before, deciding what would be relevant to bring up and what they should scrap entirely. They soon ended up with a simple draft of what still needed to be done.

“This is probably as far as we’re gonna get before we can check in with the others on Monday” Kakyoin commented. “So I say we’re done for the week”

“Yeah, I agree” Jotaro said and started cramming his books back into his bag. “I could try and find some more recourses we could use, I have a couple of books at home that might be useful”

“Go ahead if you want to, but I’m gonna take the weekend off” Kakyoin replied.

Jotaro heard a low melodic sound come from the omegas direction and he moved his eyes towards him. Kakyoin held some sort of small, handheld gaming-device in his hands, his fingers moving rapidly over the buttons. Jotaro simply observed him for a few moments. He noticed that the tip of his tongue poked out between his lips in concentration as he looked at whatever was on the screen in front of him.

“Say, Jotaro” Kakyoin started, looking up from the device to meet Jotaro’s eyes. “What do you think I should name my new Snorlax?”

“Um, your what now?” Jotaro asked, unsure if he had heard him correctly. Kakyoin turned the device around, and pointed at what looked like a big, sleeping blob on the screen.

“As in the Pokémon Snorlax. What should his name be?”

“I, uh, don’t really know anything at all about games, so I don’t know”

Kakyoin regarded him with a strange look in his eye. “You… you’ve heard of Pokémon, right Jotaro?”

Silence fell over them as Jotaro looked into Kakyoin’s wide open eyes for a moment, before slowly shaking his head. Kakyoin let out something that sounded close to a whine before he quickly stood up, moving around the table before Jotaro had even registered what was going on.

“Scoot in a bit”

Jotaro did as he was told, and Kakyoin sat down beside him.

“It’s time for you to learn a bit about one of the greatest gaming-series ever made” he said and looked at Jotaro with a slight glint in his eyes.

“Let me just name this thing real quick” Kakyoin then pushed some of the buttons in a quick succession, clearly very used to doing whatever it was he was currently doing. Jotaro watched as he put in the name ‘Lazy Fuck’ under the big, sleeping blob.

“Isn’t that a bit mean?”

Kakyoin let out a small laugh in response. “It’s true though” Jotaro watched as text flashed across the small screen in a quick rate that he was unable to keep up with. Kakyoin kept pressing the buttons for a couple more moments before he shifted closer towards Jotaro, their bodies getting tightly pressed up against each other.

“I’ve started a new game for you. We’re just gonna skip the story-parts, what we want is to catch all the Pokémon”

“Why?”

“That’s the whole point of the game! Look” Kakyoin shoved the device closer to Jotaro’s face. “Pick one of these little guys”

“I, uh” Jotaro stammered slightly as he looked at the three small, brightly coloured blobs at the screen. “The blue thingy”

“Squirtle it is then!” Kakyoin said, as he pushed a button. “What do you want to name him?” he paused and looked up at Jotaro expectantly, his violet eyes sparkling.

“…Blue?” Jotaro replied uncertainty. Kakyoin let out an audible snort but gave him another bright smile.

“Sure thing, Blue it is”

Ten minutes or so later, Jotaro decided that he didn’t mind this Pokémon-thing too much. He and Kakyoin took turns naming everything they caught. Jotaro’s usually ended up being named after whatever colour they were or what animal they looked like. Kakyoin would instead name his after obscure pop-culture references that Jotaro only got about half of the time.

Kakyoin passed him the device when they managed to capture their next Pokémon. Jotaro thought for a few moments about what to name him, before deciding to simply call him ‘Kakyoin’.

“Wait, why are you naming him that?” Kakyoin asked him, as Jotaro gave the controller back.

Jotaro shrugged. “He kind of looks like your little hair strand” he replied and poked gently at the long, wavy piece of hair framing Kakyoin’s face. He didn’t miss the way Kakyoin’s cheeks flushed slightly at the contact.

“My hair does not look like a Slugma, Jotaro!” Kakyoin cried out and slapped him lightly on the shoulder, while clearly fighting to hold back a smile.

“It’s true though, same colour and everything” Jotaro said back, also trying to keep his expression serious, but failing miserably at it. Kakyoin wagged his finger at him.

“Just you wait, I’m gonna get you back for that” he warned, before his face shone up in the wide grin that he had been trying to hide earlier. Jotaro could feel his heart skip a beat.

He then realized how close to each other they were sitting, with both their arms and their legs pressed up against each other. He could smell the various scents coming off Kakyoin without even the slightest of trouble. He smelled kind of fruity, and sweet, but not overly so. With an underlying scent of comfort. Of warmth. The omega was clearly relaxed around him, which translated into his scent as well. It made Jotaro want to lean forward just a bit more and bury his face in his neck.

But he wouldn’t do that. Because he wasn’t a creep.

“Hey, Jo-otaro!”

Both Jotaro and Kakyoin quickly turned around when they heard the loud voice coming from behind them. Jotaro groaned internally as he watched Polnareff and Avdol walk towards them. Avdol was looking between the two of them, clearly wondering why they were seated so close together. Jotaro found himself leaning away slightly.

Polnareff had a twinkle in his eyes that Jotaro didn’t like one bit, since it usually meant that he was up to no good.

“Who is your friend here?” the Frenchman asked curiously as the two of them reached the table.

“I’m Noriaki Kakyoin, it is nice to meet you” Kakyoin said with a polite smile, his eyes jumping between the two men.

“Hey, how does your hair do that? It kinda looks like a noodle” Avdol elbowed Polnareff hard in his ribs and he quickly continued “in a good way, of course!”

“Regular perms and a lot of willpower” Kakyoin answered with a laugh. “And I guess it kind of does look a bit like a noodle”

“Sorry for my friend here, he doesn’t mean to be rude, that’s just how he always is. I’m Muhammad Avdol, and this is Jean Pierre Polnareff” Avdol said with a polite smile as he gestured between the two of them.

“I thought you were going to do schoolwork, Jotaro?” Polnareff asked as he looked down at the game still open and running in Kakyoin’s hands.

“We’re done for the day already” Jotaro replied curtly, as Kakyoin quickly put aside the device. Jotaro saw Polnareff and Avdol share a thoughtful look before turning their attention back towards the pair on the sofa.

“Jotaro apparently knows nothing about Pokémon, so I thought I would teach him the basics” Avdol let out a brisk laugh at Kakyoin’s words.

“Jotaro sure is hopeless when it comes to anything that doesn’t live in the sea” He said in agreement. Kakyoin let out a slight chuckle as well.

“You want anything?” Jotaro asked abruptly, narrowing his eyes at Avdol.

“We were just going to check if you wanted to walk to class together, break will be over in ten minutes”

“It’s fine. You guys go ahead” Jotaro answered them. Polnareff cocked his head slightly to the side. Avdol just gives him a slight smirk, like he knew something that he shouldn’t.

“Mind if we join you-“

“We should get going then!” Avdol exclaimed, drowning out Polnareff’s half formed question. He then grabbed a hold of Polnareff’s shoulders, starting to push him away from the scene. Polnareff gave Jotaro a disappointed glance, before Avdol kicked at his heel to get him to get a move on.

“See you later, Kakyoin!” Polnareff yelled as he was pushed away, his hand emerging over Avdol’s shoulder to wave towards them. Kakyoin just let out a slight laugh and waved back towards him.

“Your friends seem nice” he said as he gave Jotaro a genuine smile. Jotaro nodded.

“They’re a little annoying at times, but they’re good people” he responded, meeting Kakyoin’s eyes for a moment. Kakyoin moved to grab a hold of his gaming device again, flipping the screen open. He shifted slightly so that Jotaro could observe what he was doing. They stayed in a comfortable silence for a minute, before Jotaro cleared his throat. Kakyoin looked over at him expectantly.

“So” he begun, keeping his eyes focused on the tiny screen on Kakyoin’s handheld device. His mouth felt dry as he tried to form the question he wanted to ask.

“My brother is having a party at our house tomorrow night. They can get a bit noisy and… out of hand, but they are usually still really nice” Jotaro paused for a second.

“You could come over if you want?” it came out more as a question than an invitation. Jotaro finally met Kakyoin’s gaze, his eyes practically glowing.

“I’d love to”

Jotaro’s heart sped up. That had gone a lot smoother than he had thought it would. As Jotaro told him the details of the part Kakyoin quickly scribbled down his address in his notebook. Just as he finished the bell rang.

“I guess we should get moving” Kakyoin said. The heat from his body being pressed up against Jotaro’s suddenly left as he stood up. Jotaro immediately found himself missing the warmth.

They quickly said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Jotaro couldn’t help but watch as Kakyoin turned the corner, only to find him looking back at him as well. Kakyoin gave him a discrete wave and a slight tug of his lips, before he walked out of his line of sight. Jotaro turned back around and tried to remember where he was and where he was going, his mind suddenly feeling all muddled.

Jotaro realized that he was falling for Kakyoin.

And he was falling hard.

Notes:

Sorry for the lack of updates! I realized that I have no idea what I'm doing with this fic, and I've had to pretty much force myself to write more of it. But this story will be finished sooner or later, promise! It will most likely only be a few more chapters after this.

I kinda hate how this chapter turned out but I do not feel like rewriting the whole thing so here we go I guess sghnjkg

Chapter Text

It was currently Saturday evening, and Kakyoin was busy nervously pacing back and forth in his room. He had never been to a party in his entire life. It didn’t really seem like his kind of scene. So everything he knew about them were things he’d snapped up from movies or books, which were not exactly the most reliable information sources when it came to things like that. Maybe he should just skip tonight all together and stay at home playing videogames as he usually would do during the weekend.

Kakyoin was well aware that he was overthinking things. He tried telling himself that it probably wouldn’t be that big of a deal as long as he didn’t do anything too outlandish. And if it against all odds did turn out disastrous he could just make up an excuse and slip away, it wasn’t like many people there would recognize him anyways. It should all be easy enough to pull off.

He stopped his pacing in front of his dresser. What should he even wear? Did people usually dress up for parties? Or would he then come off as if he was trying too hard? But it wouldn’t be any better to be too underdressed for the occasion either. It would probably not be a great impression to turn up in one of the oversized t-shirts depicting some obscure 90’s anime that he normally wore around the house.

After some evaluating he settled for a pair of dark green pants that he thought showed off his body nicely, and an off-white button up. Kakyoin regarded himself in the mirror. Did this work, or did he look to uptight? He unbuttoned one of the top buttons of his shirt, showing a bit more skin than he normally would. Before he could change his mind he quickly moved on to style his hair. He decided to put an extra bit of care into it, making sure that every piece was exactly where he wanted it to be.

He checked the time on his phone. The party should have started by now. His plan was to arrive when things were already in full swing, to not draw too much attention to himself. He might not know a lot about parties, but he knew that showing up too early wasn’t considered a good thing.

He went downstairs and said a quick goodbye to his parents, throwing on his signature green coat before walking out the door. He doublechecked that he had the correct address, and that he knew which roads to go down to get there. It was pretty close by, probably just a ten-minute walk or so.

******

The house was not what he had expected.

It was huge. Kakyoin wasn’t even sure if it should be classified as just a house. It reminded him much more of a mansion than anything else. He could hear the bass from the music mixed with various voices shouting all the way down the street. The party was clearly already in full swing.

Kakyoin hesitantly made his way closer, stepping through the open gate and making his way to the front door. He pressed the doorbell and stood there awkwardly as he waited for someone to open, unsure of what exactly to expect. Maybe this had been a bad idea after all.

The door swung open to reveal an alpha that had to be equally as tall and broad as Jotaro. He was however wearing quite revealing clothes that Jotaro would probably not even be caught dead in. His hair was also an absolute mess, standing in all possible directions.

He also reeked of alcohol, already seeming to have a difficult time just standing up straight.

“Hey! Who are you?” the alpha practically shouted at him, his voice easily overpowering the blasting music.

“I’m Noriaki Kakyoin” Kakyoin replied “Uh, Jotaro invited me?”

Joseph narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked him up and down, seemingly scrutinizing him. His expression then completely flipped and he instead shot Kakyoin a wide grin.

“Right! Jotaro did say he was inviting someone! I’m Joseph by the way, one of Jotaro’s big brothers.” The alpha stepped aside and gestured for Kakyoin to step in through the doorway.

“Just leave your shoes and coat wherever, and feel free to explore! The only part of the house that is off limits is the basement, since some drunk managed to fall down the staircase and break a leg a few parties ago. But other than that, make yourself at home!”

Kakyoin looked around the room as Joseph talked. From their position he could see into both the kitchen and the living room, both of which seemed to be crammed with people, all laughing and drinking.

“Any idea where Jotaro might be?” Kakyoin asked, before Joseph could slip back to the party at hand.

“He usually hides somewhere in a corner” Joseph let out a laugh. “Just search through all potential hiding spots you see and I’m sure you’ll find him eventually. But now if you excuse me, I have some mingling to do” Joseph gave him a slight pat on the shoulder and a quick smile, before he turned and walked over into the kitchen, immediately inserting himself into whatever conversation was currently happening.

Kakyoin decided to start looking around for any familiar faces. Most of the partygoers seemed to be a year or two older than him. While he could recognize some from passing them in a hallway once or twice, he didn’t spot anyone he actually knew. Which shouldn’t be very surprising, since his social circle was extremely limited.

He started weaving through the sea of moving bodies as he began his search for Jotaro. His senses were starting to get overwhelmed by the mixture of loud noises, unpredictable movements, and the many different scents coming off omegas, betas and alphas alike from all around him. He felt like he was slowly starting to suffocate.

That was when he spotted silvery hair, styled to stand straight upwards and towering over the majority of the partygoer’s heads. He recognized it as that of Jotaro’s friend Polnareff, who he had briefly met the other day. Kakyoin began elbowing his way towards him. Hopefully Jotaro would be somewhere nearby.

Then Kakyoin stopped dead in his tracks.

He almost didn’t recognize him at first. Jotaro wasn’t wearing either his signature hat or his coat. Instead he was sporting a tightly fitted t-shirt that left little to the imagination and which showed off the bulk of his arms. His hair had been slicked backwards, with a few pieces hanging freely to give it a bit more of his signature messy look.

God he looked gorgeous.

Some time during Kakyoin’s staring Jotaro had noticed him from across the room. He gave him a slight nod, which Kakyoin returned with a hesitant smile. He watched as Jotaro said a few words to Polnareff and Avdol before heading over in his direction.

Kakyoin’s mouth felt unnaturally dry as he straightened his back and tried to look like he felt more comfortable in the crowd than he actually was. He noticed that Avdol and Polnareff had huddled close together, and were watching him with matching grins, their arms crossed across their chests. Kakyoin’s face flushed as he quickly returned his gaze to Jotaro just as he stopped in front of him.

“Hey, you came”

“Of course” Kakyoin almost had to shout to not be drowned out by the commotion around them. “How are you doing?”

“I’m alright” Jotaro said and gestured towards the back of the room, beckoning for Kakyoin to follow him. The other partygoers were quick to get out of their way when they noticed Jotaro. He did seem to have quite the reputation even among his older peers. Kakyoin let out a slight sigh of relief as the two of them were finally far enough away that Kakyoin could hear himself think again.

“You look nice” Jotaro commented, his eyes fixed firmly on the floor where he was playing with the edge of the carpet. Kakyoin let out a small smile in reply.

“You too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without your hat before” he teased. Jotaro finally lifted his gaze and directed it towards Kakyoin as he ran a hand through his dark locks.

“Jonathan refuses to let me wear it inside the house”

“And you do what he says? I thought you were supposed to be a delinquent”

Jotaro just shrugged in response. “I’m not really, it’s just other people that make me out to be that way”

Kakyoin pondered over his answer for a moment. “That’s true, a real delinquent would never pick Squirtle over Charmander”

Jotaro let out a slight snort. “And why is that?”

“He’s simply too cute! Only uncool people would pick Squirtle. Cool people would definitely always pick the fire-starter”

“You calling me uncool?” Jotaro crossed his arms and looked slightly amused.

“You made it your mission to collect Marills, Jotaro, it is literally a fat, happy mouse with cutesy eyes”

“…Fair enough” Jotaro paused for a moment. “But I doubt that any cool people actually play Pokémon in the first place”

Rude!” Kakyoin exclaimed as he playfully elbowed Jotaro in the side, before bursting into laughter, with Jotaro soon joining him.

Kakyoin was surprised by how easy it was to talk to Jotaro. Even though he seemed intimidating at first glance he was a huge dork at heart. And the more they talked, the more of it surfaced. So they stood there, in the back of Jotaro’s living room, discussing everything from collage plans to what the meaning of life was, for what seemed like hours.

Their environment had gotten more and more rowdy as the night went on. A few people had collapsed black-out drunk while others were still staggering about, talking loudly among themselves.

Kakyoin’s attention was brought towards Polnareff as he suddenly stumbled past them, only to collapse and throw up all over the living room floor. Kakyoin’s face scrunched up in disgust and Jotaro followed his gaze. He let out a loud groan as he noticed the Frenchman lying face down on the floor.

“Fucking shit, not again”

“Is this a common occurrence?” Kakyoin asked, slightly amused by the clear exasperations in Jotaro’s voice.

“You could say that. I’ll be right back, if I don’t deal with this Joseph is going to murder me” Jotaro said as he gestured Avdol over. The two of them quickly scooped up Polnareff by each arm and practically dragged him out through the back door and onto the porch. Kakyoin could hear the two of them loudly cursing Polnareff out as they did so.

Kakyoin had a feeling that this would probably take a while, and decided that the most logical course of actions would be to walk around for a bit as he waited for Jotaro to return. His legs had gotten stiff from having stood still leaned up against the wall for the last hour.

Loud cheering brought his attention towards the kitchen. A significant group of people had gathered around the kitchen table, where an intense game of beer pong seemed to be going down. He recognized one of the men playing to be Jotaro’s older brother Joseph, who had Caesar standing right beside him, egging him on. Joseph was currently yelling loudly, clearly drunk, while showing several crude gestures towards a very muscular and very shirtless man with long, dark hair stood at the other edge of the table.

“Kakyoin!” Caesar seemed to have spotted him, as he was excitedly gesturing for him to move closer.

“What exactly is going on here?” Kakyoin stumbled slightly as Caesar gave him a hug, basically clinging on to him for dear life.

“Some typical alpha-behaviour bullshit. Something like this always goes down when these pieces of shits get drunk. Fighting for dominance or whatever the fuck it is they are doing” Caesar let out a triumphant shout as Joseph scored, throwing his arms up in the air and almost falling to the ground as Joseph practically jumped on top of him in excitement.

“Guess who is the winner winner chicken dinner this time! Fucking eat shit, Kars

Kakyoin was close to being crushed as the cheering duo threw one arm each across his shoulders, jumping up and down. The other alpha, apparently named Kars, looked about ready to leap over the table and beat Joseph into the ground.

“There is only one big boy in this house and that is ME” Joseph exclaimed before hurrying over to sink and emptying his stomach’s content in it. Caesar snorted loudly.

“You’re so fucking disgusting, Jojo” Caesar elbowed Kakyoin in his side. “Tell him, Kakyoin”

“You are disgusting, Jojo” Kakyoin repeated. Caesar howled in laughter as Joseph stumbled over to them again.

“You are both extremely right, so I won’t- ooh it’s Jo-ta-ro!” Joseph interrupted himself as Jotaro  indeed came walking up to the group.

“Polnareff threw up on the carpet”

“NO!” Joseph practically screamed at him.

“I took care of it. You have any beer?” Joseph simply gestured towards the fridge, while he began a long rant about how the French were utterly untrustworthy and should not be invited anywhere. He mixed up several historical events in his rant, but Kakyoin did not have the energy to even think about correcting him. Jotaro soon returned with an open beer in his hand, slinking in between Joseph and Kakyoin.

“My brother bothering you?” he asked as he took a long sip.

“Not really. What did you do with Polnareff?”

“We normally just leave him to sleep it off outside whenever he does that.” Jotaro shook his head slightly. “It’s the fourth time it’s happened by now”

“Polnareff is a danger to society, you should watch out for him, redhead-boy” Joseph chipped in a little too loudly, leaning heavily on Jotaro’s shoulder.

“He has a name, you know” Jotaro commented as he tried to shake Joseph off of his shoulder.

“Hey, Jotarooo, why didn’t you tell me you made a new friend?” Joseph looked close to crying at the apparent betrayal of not knowing every single little thing about Jotaro’s private life. His expression suddenly shifted as his eyes lit up.

“Or is he you boyfrie-“ he got interrupted as Jotaro quickly shoved him off his own shoulder, and onto Caesar instead.

“You’re fucking wasted Jojo” Caesar commented as he struggled to hold the alpha up.

“Hey Caesarino, let’s go beat Kars up!”

“Oh fuck yeah, I’ll back you up so hard!”

The two men wobbled towards the still half-naked Kars, leaving Jotaro and Kakyoin alone once again.

Kakyoin let out a nervous chuckle, as he tried not to ponder over the fact that Joseph had just initiatied that him and Jotaro were a couple.

“Your brother sure is something, huh”

Jotaro let out a huff of breath and gulped down more off his beer. “He is. You want anything to drink?”

“Sure” Kakyoin shrugged. “What do you have?”

Jotaro gestured towards the fridge. “Anything and everything, just grab whatever you like. I’m gonna bring some water over to Polnareff real quick, don’t want him to end up dying out there”

As Jotaro ventured out of the room Kakyoin rummaged through the fridge for anything remotely drinkable. He found himself gravitating towards a mostly full bottle of cherry liquor. He grabbed it and took a big gulp. While it was nowhere near good, it wasn’t the worst thing he had ever tasted. It would have to do.

Bottle in hand he ventured out of the kitchen, and almost crashed into a stranger in the hallway. The boy was slightly taller than Kakyoin, his hair styled into an impressive pompadour. Clasped in his hands were a large bag of McDonald’s.

“I was never here” the boy said in a serious tone before quickly making his way up the stairs before Kakyoin hadn’t even had enough time to blink.

Kakyoin guessed that he must be another one of Jotaro’s siblings, and simply settled for taking another sip of the liquor. It was getting easier to get down the more he drank, his mouth numbing from the slight burn of the alcohol.

The living room was still just as packed as it had been before. A mass of people were engaging in some kind of drunken dancing, while others had started to strip of their clothes, while making out with the closest willing person. The mixture of lust and both alpha and omega pheromones made Kakyoin slightly dizzy, and he once again felt completely out of place.

He decided to simply stick to himself and keep drinking as he watched the people dancing, while trying to block out the overwhelming scents and occasional moaning. His heat must be getting close, he wasn’t normally so bothered by public displays of affection. He instead focused on his liquor, gulping it down a lot faster than he probably should.

Before he knew it his eyes started having trouble focusing and his footing began to feel unstable. Everything around him felt as though he was experiencing it through a muddled filter. But at least the various scents and noises were a lot easier to handle now.

Kakyoin was busy trying to figure out if the couch was indeed moving or not, when a hand wafted in front of his eyes, bringing him back to reality.

“You drunk?” He recognized the voice to be Jotaro’s. Kakyoin grinned from ear to ear as he met his gaze.

“A little bit, maybe, perhaps” He shook the bottle to make a point, but discovered that it was now completely empty.

“oh” he said disappointedly. “You have any more of this stuff?” he asked as he waved the bottle in Jotaro’s face. Jotaro’s hand grabbed a hold of his briefly as he took the bottle out of his hand, setting it down on the table next to the.

“I think you’ve had enough to drink for tonight. Let’s get you out for some air” Jotaro said with a slight smile. Kakyoin pouted at him and shook his head.

“Don’t wannaaa” he whined loudly. Jotaro’s hand came to rest at the low of his back and Kakyoin’s mind was racing at the feeling of the Alpha’s strong yet gentle hand upon his body. Maybe drinking so much hadn’t been the best idea after all.

“C’mon” Jotaro said and gave a gentle push, leading Kakyoin through the sea of people and towards the back door.

The air outside was not as cold as he thought it would be. The alcohol was most likely what he should be thanking for that. Polnareff still laid stretched across the porch, covered in a blanket and snoring loudly.

Jotaro held Kakyoin steady as he uncoordinatedly sat down on the steps to the porch, Jotaro soon sitting down beside him.

“Are you cold at all?”

Kakyoin shook his head. “Nope, quite the opposite actually”

Kakyoin closed his eyes as he listened to the music coming from inside the house. His head was still spinning slightly, but his hormones seemed to have calmed down. He was now feeling more tired than anything. The two of them sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments.

“You have a beautiful home” Kakyoin commented, while he tried to refrain from swaying from side to side.

“Thanks. It’s been in the family for generations. Kind of a family heirloom at this point”

“Feels sort of risky to hold huge parties like this one if that’s the case”

“Joseph insists on having them. And they go without any major incidents most of the time anyways”

“Your parents don’t mind?”

Jotaro was silent for a minute and turned his gaze towards the ground. Kakyoin immediately got the feeling that he had said something he shouldn’t have.

“They can’t. They’re both dead” Jotaro’s voice was just loud enough for Kakyoin to make out the words.

Kakyoin opened and closed his mouth a few times as he tried to come up with anything to say.

“I- I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have brought it up”

“s’alright, you didn’t know” Jotaro said, his voice having turned back to its original tone. His eyes however still had a tinge of sadness to them. His scent had turned slightly sour, something that only happened when someone felt distressed.

Before Kakyoin’s drunken mind had time to process what was happening, his inner omega had already reacted to the saddened pheromones wafting off the alpha, with Kakyoin’s head coming down onto Jotaro’s shoulder and nuzzling into him. It was an attempt at soothing the negative feelings that Jotaro was experiencing.

Both Jotaro and Kakyoin froze at the unexpected and unplanned contact.

“Oh!” Kakyoin exclaimed as he quickly withdrew from the other. “Sorry, my omega can make me act a bit spontaneously at times. It could sense some negative feelings and it just kind of… acted on its own”. He carefully avoided Jotaro’s eyes as he started twiddling with his own thumbs.

Jotaro stayed silent. Kakyoin could feel the embarrassment building inside himself. Stupid omegas always trying to comfort even when it wasn’t even wanted.

An arm looping around his shoulders brought him back to the present. His head once again fell to Jotaro’s shoulder as he was brought even closer, their bodies now fully pressed up against each other. Jotaro’s cheek rested against the top of his head, nuzzling into him slightly.

“Jotaro, it’s all right, you don’t have to-“

“I want to” Jotaro’s voice cut him off mid-sentence. “I think… I think I need this. Could we just stay like this for a while?” his voice was once again barely audible as it was mumbled into Kakyoin’s hair. Kakyoin could feel himself getting goose bumps at the combined feeling of Jotaro’s voice so close to him at the same time as his warm breath was hitting against his bare skin.

“Of course” Kakyoin managed to get out, voice barely more than a whisper. He closed his eyes as his body relaxed against Jotaro’s.

He couldn’t explain why, but he felt happy and safe in Jotaro’s strong but gentle presence. Maybe it was just the alcohol talking. Or maybe there was something else that could explain the warm feeling spreading through him like wildfire. Kakyoin couldn’t quite hold back the smile that broke out onto his face. He stifled back a yawn, his previous tiredness returning.

“I might fall asleep if we stay like this” Kakyoin mumbled, but stayed put against the alpha’s shoulder. Jotaro let out a slight huff of laughter.

“That’s alright. I’ve got you”

Those were the last words Kakyoin heard before he was lulled into sleep, with the slight smile still present on his lips.

Chapter Text

The warmth of Kakyoin’s breath as he snored softly against his collarbone was enough to make Jotaro’s head spin. He sat as still as humanly possible to not rouse the sleeping omega. Jotaro’s brows softened as he watched Kakyoin’s relaxed face. His eyelashes resting long and full against his cheeks ,and his mouth slightly ajar. Some of his hair had fallen over his face, and Jotaro was just about to tuck it back behind his ear before he got a hold of himself. That would be a step too far, and Jotaro was afraid that there would be no turning back if he did it.

Jotaro was unsure of how long they stayed in that position, with Kakyoin sleeping soundlessly against him. They had been momentarily interrupted by Avdol as he came out to get Polnareff back inside. Jotaro had just shushed him when Avdol’s face lit up as he saw Kakyoin sleeping against him. Avdol had given him a look that clearly stated that they would be discussing this later, before heading back inside with a barely awake Polnareff.

It by now had to be well after midnight, the lighting from the windows being their only source of light apart from the starry night sky. The air had gotten significantly cooler since they had gone outside. Maybe that was a sign that it was about time for them to get back inside. Kakyoin should hopefully have had enough time to sleep off the worst of his previous drunken state.

He gently shook his shoulder, and Kakyoin stirred slightly.

“Huh?” his voice was groggy with sleep as he sat up, eyes still half-lidded as he looked at Jotaro in slight confusion.

“We should get inside. It’s starting to get cold” Jotaro said and stood up, offering a hand down towards him. Kakyoin nodded absently and took a hold of his outstretched hand, and Jotaro pulled him up into a standing position. Jotaro helped him back inside and Kakyoin immediately collapsed on the nearest couch.

“Imma just sleep a little bit more” he mumbled as he curled up and rested his head against the armrest. Jotaro let out a small huff of laughter as he picked up one of the spare blankets Jonathan insisted they keep in every room, and draping it over Kakyoin. Kakyoin let out a low murmur in response, burying his face in the blanket. He was fast asleep before Jotaro even had enough time to acknowledge it, his breathing once again getting heavier as he nuzzled against the blanket.

Jotaro realized that he might need help. And he needed it now.

He decided that the most logical solution was to go and look for Jonathan. He always knew what kind of advice to give, in almost every situation imaginable. Jotaro soon found him nearby, surrounded by a group of chatting people. He was currently deep in a conversation with Speedwagon, who was considered to be the coolest omega around and who was always the life of the party. Jotaro stood awkwardly to the side as he waited for his chance to insert himself into the conversation. But before he had the chance to, Jonathan had already noticed him and waved him over with a smile.

“Jotaro, come listen to what Speedwagon was up to last week!” Jonathan called as he stepped aside, so that Jotaro could slip in closer.

Jotaro was only half listening as Speedwagon told them the story of how he had allegedly gotten into a fight in an alley and almost sliced a man’s hand off with his hat. Another classic Speedwagon story.

Jonathan seemed to notice that his mind was elsewhere, as he gave him a questioning look.

“You alright, Jotaro?” he asked, a slight tint of worry evident in his voice.

“Yeah, I just... Um, Could I talk to you alone for a moment?” Jonathan nodded and excused himself quickly, before gesturing for Jotaro to follow him out into the empty hallway.

“So what’s up?” Jonathan asked, patiently waiting for him to answer. Jotaro fidgeted restlessly for a few moments while he gathered his thoughts.

“How did you know that you wanted to be with Erina. Romantically, I mean”

Jonathan looked surprised for a moment, but he quickly hid it behind a gentle smile.

“I realised almost instantly” Jonathan’s eyes looked distant as if he was re-living the memory. “I felt this immediate connection to her, but at first I thought It was just normal feelings of friendship. But after a few weeks it suddenly hit me that I would be completely heartbroken if she were to end up with anyone else but me. And then I just realized it all seemed so right, that she was what I needed. I guess” Jonathan let out a slight huff of laughter and turned his gaze back towards Jotaro.

“Why, is anything on your mind?” Jotaro could see that Jonathan was intrigued by his question, even though he tried his best to hide it.

“it’s nothing” Jotaro just shrugged the question off as he stared at his own feet. “I was just… curious”

“Alright then” Jonathan let out a slight laugh, before resting a hand on top of Jotaro’s shoulder, squeezing it tightly. “But you know that you can tell me anything, right?” Jotaro just nodded in response. He didn’t have enough time to think of a proper response before the doorbell went of three times consecutively.

Jonathan let out a deep sigh. “It’s probably just someone here to complain about the noise. I’ll get it, you get back to the party” Jotaro nodded and hurried back to the living room.

What Jonathan had told him was such an utterly unrealistic and cheesy love story. Jotaro wasn’t like that. How could someone claim that they just knew when it was right? That didn’t make any sense. Jotaro sighed loudly and worked both of his hands through his hair, messing it up even further.

Asking Jonathan for advice might have been a mistake. Because Jotaro knew that he didn’t harbour any romantic feeling towards anyone in particular. He hadn’t felt that way towards anyone before, so why would he now? He was probably only smitten by Kakyoin since he was one of the first omegas around his own age that he had to spend a lot of time around. Yeah, that would explain everything.

“Hey!”

Jotaro turned around at the sound of the familiar voice, and found himself standing face to face with a grinning Kakyoin, who had the blanket still wrapped tightly around himself.

“Hey, I thought you were sleeping” Jotaro was slightly startled by his sudden appearance, especially since he was just thinking about him.

“It’s pretty hard to sleep when there seems to be the storytelling of the century going on in the same room. Did you know that Speedwagon once fought a vampire?” Kakyoin laughed.

“I don’t think he did very much of the actual fighting, and I don’t think it was an actual vampire” Jotaro said, turning his attention towards Speedwagon, who was indeed telling another of his heavily exaggerated stories to a group of intrigued drunk people. That man could talk for hours on end if nobody stopped him.

“Don’t say that, vampires could be real for all we know!” Kakyoin said with a smile as he also turned towards Speedwagon, staggering slightly at the sudden movement.

“You alright?” Jotaro asked.

Kakyoin nodded. “I’m getting better. Everything just gets a bit spinny if I move too fast” he demonstrated by shaking his head vigorously, and almost falling over in the process. He only let out a slight giggle as he grabbed onto Jotaro’s shoulder to stabilize himself.

“Where are your usual admirers by the way? Nobody has been clinging to you all night. Except for me right now of course” Kakyoin let out a loud snort at his own joke.

“They are all permanently banned from ever coming to any of our parties” Jotaro said, as he tried to ignore the way Kakyoin’s fingers clinged onto his shirt.

“Really? How many people are banned?” Kakyoin asked.

“A couple dozen or so. But there might be one more if you’re not careful” Jotaro said with a slight smirk on his lips. Kakyoin let out an over exaggerated gasp as he clutched at his heart with his free hand.

“I can’t believe that you would do something like that, Jojo , And to your biology partner nonetheless” Kakyoin broke into another set of giggles as he pulled himself even closer to Jotaro, resting most of his weight on him, moving to hug one of Jotaro’s arms tightly against his chest.

“You should probably go sit down again” he said as he felt how unstable Kakyoin still was in his footing. Kakyoin hummed in agreement.

“You have a really soft couch, so I’m not gonna complain. But I’m thirsty though” he smacked his lips loudly as if to make a point. “Get me some more cherry-stuff?” he gave Jotaro his best attempt at puppy eyes. Jotaro had a feeling that they would have been very successful if he hadn’t averted his gaze in time.

“I’ll get you some water, as long as you sit down” Jotaro responded. Kakyoin frowned, but still nodded.

“I really liked the cherry-stuff though” Kakyoin muttered under his breath, but he waved Jotaro off none the less before once again collapsing onto the couch, his wavy hair strand the only thing sticking out from underneath the blanket.

Jotaro quickly made his way over to the kitchen, only to almost trip over Joseph who had apparently decided to take a nap in the middle of the floor.

“What the fuck?” Jotaro swore loudly as Joseph woke up with a groan.

“Sup Joot, how’s it hanging” he mumbled as he attempted to sit up straight.

“You’re drunk. go to bed already” Jotaro said with a deep frown. Joseph stuck his tongue out at him, before collapsing into a lying position again.

“I’ve got him!” Caesar suddenly emerged, rolling his sleeves up to his elbows. “I can’t guarantee you that he won’t accidentally fall down the stairs though”

“That’s fine” Jotaro replied, receiving a wide grin from Caesar.

“That’s so mean, Jotaro” Joseph mumbled as Caesar hoisted him up, looping one of Joseph’s arms around his own shoulders. “What if I end up dying?” He looked close to crying. “Jotaro please come to my funeral, you will do that for me, right?”

Jotaro quickly scooped up his water and hurried away from Joseph’s whining. He did not have the energy to deal with him and his drunken crying right now.

as he stepped back into the living room Jotaro froze mid step. The universe was apparently dead set on the fact that this night was destined to be a bad one, since none other that Dio Brando was currently standing in the room. He was currently chatting with two girls, smiling brightly at them while they practically swooned over him.

Dio seemed to have spotted him as well, as he excused himself from the girls before walking over.

“What are you doing here?” Jotaro asked as soon as Dio was close enough to hear him.

“I could hardly sleep thanks to all the noise” Dio shrugged as he leaned against the doorway, arms crossed over his chest. “So I decided to join in on the fun instead”

“You’re not welcome here”

Dio just scoffed slightly. “Actually, Jonathan let me in as long as I don’t start anything , so technically I am actually welcome here”

“Not for long you won’t be” Jotaro took a step closer to the other Alpha. Dio had a way of always pushing his button.

“Well you’re as much fun to talk to as usual, aren’t you Jotaro” Dio sighed as he turned his attention back towards the two girls, who were still waiting for his return. “If you don’t mind, I’ll be getting back to those beautiful ladies then”

“Or you should just leave” was Jotaro’s only response. He was momentarily relieved that Joseph wasn’t nearby, as the two of them meeting would most likely have ended in catastrophe.

“Oh don’t be like that now, there are plenty of beautiful omega’s for the both of us to enjoy” Dio let out a cold laugh as he patted Jotaro roughly on the shoulder, before leaning in slightly closer.

“Besides, don’t you have someone to get back to yourself?” Dio asked with a smirk as he threw a look towards where Kakyoin was.

Jotaro frowned. He didn’t like the suggestiveness in Dio’s voice or the expression on his face one bit. But before he had the chance to say anything back Dio had walked back to the girls he had previously been flirting with, as if nothing had happened.

Jotaro hurried back to where Kakyoin was sitting, humming along to the ongoing karaoke battle that had apparently began while Jotaro was gone.

Why was he so annoyed at Dio? He always did bothersome stuff like this, but for some reason Jotaro could feel the anger towards the other man boiling inside him. It was more intense that any negative feelings he had harboured towards Dio before. And he also couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that had come over him.

Jotaro was brought back to reality by Kakyoin snapping his fingers in front of his eyes.

“Jo-ta-ro, earth is attempting to contact you” he smiled at Jotaro’s slightly startled expression.

“Sorry” Jotaro mumbled and handed him the glass, which Kakyoin downed in one go.

“Something happen?” Kakyoin asked after a moment of silence. “You seem… off”

“Not really. It’s just our asshole neighbour intruding and being generally creepy” he shot off a glare towards where Dio was standing. Kakyoin leaned closer to him briefly to see where he was looking.

Dio is your neighbour?” Kakyoin asked. Jotaro turned back to look at him.

“You know him?” he asked wearily.

Kakyoin shrugged. “We have a class together, he is pretty… intense. To say the least” Kakyoin’s face scrunched up in clear distaste.

Jotaro’s heartbeat sped up. “Did he do anything to you?” he asked a bit too quickly.

“Nothing that I couldn’t handle” Kakyoin said and nodded towards Dio. “It seems like he does that kind of shit a lot”

Jotaro turned to watch as Dio towered over one of the omegas who was giggling loudly while practically molding herself up against his body.

“I don’t see the appeal, to be honest” Kakyoin said with his chin resting in his palms, while he eyed the couple critically. “Can’t she see that his eyes are completely cold and that he just seems dead inside?”

“I don’t think most of them care” Jotaro responded. “As long as you’re tall and broad it doesn’t really matter how much of an asshole you are towards them”

Kakyoin let out a snort. “Well, you of all people should know, shouldn’t you”

Jotaro nodded in agreement. But something from their conversation still didn’t sit right with him.

“So, what does ‘Nothing I couldn’t handle’ mean anyway?” Jotaro asked, focusing his gaze on Kakyoin.

“That, pretty much” Kakyoin said and nodded towards the still looming Dio. “Except I wasn’t as…. into it as she seems to be” He let out a noise of disgust as Dio and the girl now stood liplocked, with her clinging onto him for dear life.

“I hate couples and their excessive amounts of PDA” Kakyoin sighed. Jotaro hummed in agreement. He could almost feel the thick stench of want coming from the other side of the room.

“Oh, and he pretty much followed me home as well, which was insanely creepy” Kakyoin added. Jotaro’s previous feeling of unease immediately returned.

“He did what now?”

“I know! Creep of the year if you ask me. I just told him off and haven’t seen him since” Kakyoin seemed unbothered as he went back to humming along to the people singing off-key karaoke at the top of their lungs.

Jotaro on the other hand could not shake off his uneasiness as easily. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust that Kakyoin could take care of himself. It had more to do with the fact that he did not trust Dio in the slightest. Their families had been in a feud with each other for as long as Jotaro could remember. And he didn’t want Dio anywhere near Kakyoin. The whole ordeal just left a bad taste in his mouth.

His previous conversation with Jonathan sprung back into his mind. More specifically what he had said about not wanting anybody else to get close to Erina. Jonathan’s words seemed to make a bit more sense to him now. But it wasn’t the same. It wasn’t because he liked Kakyoin like that . It was just because Dio was dangerous. He only wanted him to stay as far away as possible so that Kakyoin could be safe. And so that he would could be with Jotaro instead.

oh.

The realization hit Jotaro like a ton of bricks. He had known and accepted that he liked Kakyoin in a friendly way. At the same time he had also been aware of the fact that he was very attractive. But simply acknowledging that someone was attractive didn’t necessarily meant that you were attracted to them. Until everything flipped on its head and that was exactly what it meant.

Jotaro found himself staring at Kakyoin in an almost transfixed state. Had his eyes always been that bright? Had his hair always looked that soft? Had his lips always looked so plump and pink and so goddamn kissable ?

Everything inside of Jotaro screamed at him to just lean towards him, grab his face between his hands and bring their lips together. But his brain knew that doing so would be a terrible move. He did not want to come off as creepy or insensitive. Especially since Kakyoin had just told him what he thought of Dio’s advances. And to make matters worse, he didn’t even know if Kakyoin had even the slightest interest in him to begin with. Jotaro was well aware of the fact that he was not always the best at picking up on social cues.

Speaking of the devil, Dio had now started making his way towards the outer door, the omega following right behind him. But before he turned the corner he turned to gave Jotaro a wide grin, as if he had felt his eyes on him. He gave a mocking wave and mouthed something that Jotaro couldn't decipher before walking out of his line of sight and out the door. Good riddance.

Soon after Caesar plopped down on the couch next to him, moaning about what an absolute pain in the ass Joseph was. Him and Kakyoin immediately fell into conversation, with Jotaro only half listening in on their discussion. He was too busy having a near existential crisis after realizing that he without a doubt had a huge crush on Kakyoin.

The room had gotten significantly sparser as the clock ticked on. It was by now early morning.

“Oh fuck” Kakyoin moaned.

“What?” Caesar asked.

“My parents are gonna kill me for staying out this late” Kakyoin said as he quickly stood up. “I really need to get going”

Jotaro and Caesar both followed him to the door, standing by as he hurriedly got dressed.

“Well, goodbye then” Kakyoin said with a smile, his gaze jumping between the two of them.

“I’ll see you monday” Caesar said as he engulfed Kakyoin in a quick hug, both of them patting each other lightly on the back. Caesar then hurried off upstairs, probably to check up on Joseph.

“I guess I’ll see you soon as well?” Kakyoin said as he gave Jotaro a small smile. Jotaro simply nodded and mumbled a quiet “yeah”. They stood in silence for a moment, Kakyoin fidgeting with the fringes on his scarf. He then took a couple of steps forward and wrapped his arms tightly around Jotaro.

Jotaro stood frozen in place for just a second, before he quickly wrapped his arms around Kakyoin as well, wallowing in the warmth radiating off his body. He noticed a slight shift in Kakyoin’s scent, with it getting slightly sweeter as he returned the hug.

Jotaro didn’t know how long the hug lasted before Kakyoin eventually took a step back. But he did know that it without a doubt had been significantly longer than the one he had shared with Caesar.

“Bye then” the majority of his face was now hidden behind the scarf that he had quickly hiked up as soon as he broke off the hug.

“uh, yeah. Bye”

And with that Kakyoin was out the door. Jotaro stood by for another minute, watching the door intently as if Kakyoin was going to walk back through it and throw himself in his arms at any moment now.

But that never happened. Jotaro instead stepped back as a small group of other partygoers headed for the door as well. It seemed as if the party was pretty much over by now, empty bottles and glasses scattered all throughout the house. He noticed Jonathan busy cleaning up the worst of the mess in the kitchen. He gave Jotaro a slight smile as he noticed him awkwardly hovering in the doorway.

“You go to bed, I’ll take care of this. I think Polnareff and Avdol are already crashing in your room”

“Alright, thanks” Jotaro hadn’t noticed until now how exhausted he really was. “G’night”

“Goodnight”

Polnareff and Avdol had indeed quite literally crashed in his room, the both of them sleeping practically on top of each other on a pile of blankets on the floor. It looked immensely uncomfortable, but Jotaro didn’t have the heart to wake them up from their much needed sleep. Both of them were snoring soundly as Jotaro threw himself down on his bed, falling asleep himself almost as soon as his head hit the pillow beneath him.

*********

Jotaro woke up the next morning because of the sunlight hitting him straight in his face. He groaned loudly. Why did he always forget to put down the blinds before going to bed?

Avdol and Polnareff seemed to have woken up as well. Polnareff was lying face down with a bunch of blankets covering his head, while Avdol had made the effort to actually stand up, his eyes squinted to block out the sunlight.

“Good morning” Jotaro said with a yawn.

“I don’t know about that” Avdol grumbled. “Well, at least we are not as destroyed as our dear friend Polnareff here” he said as he poked Polnareff on the back with his foot. Polnareff let out a sting of muffled curses from underneath the blanket.

“How late didn’t you get to bed?” Avdol asked as he moved to sit down beside Jotaro.

“Dunno, probably around two”

“Hm” Avdol said with a glint in his eyes. “I’m guessing things went well with Kakyoin then?”

Jotaro felt his face heating up as he recalled last night's big revelation. “I don’t know what you mean” he mumbled.

“Suure” it was clear that Avdol didn’t believe him, but to Jotaro’s relief he didn’t press any further.

After the two of them finally managed to get Polnareff up off the floor and in an alright enough state to actually stand on his own, all three of them made their way downstairs. Jonathan was standing in the kitchen, cooking up enough scrambled eggs to feed an entire class of starving children.

“Good morning boys” he greeted them with a warm smile. “You staying for breakfast?”

“If there’s no trouble” Avdol replied politely.

“I think I need an aspirin” Polnareff grumbled, clearly still suffering from his bad hangover.

Soon the three friends were seated around the kitchen table, chatting about what their plans for the day was as Jonathan set the breakfast on the table. They were soon joined by Josuke, who was the only one who seemed to not be even the slightest bit tired.

“It sounded like you had fun last night” he said happily as he applied way too much jelly onto his sandwich.

“I think most of us did” Avdol replied. “Except maybe for Polnareff here, who as usual attempted to drink his entire body weight in wine”

“Did he throw up on the carpet again?”

“He sure did”

Gross

“It’s practically a tradition at this point, I have to make sure to keep it going” Polnareff laughed, already seeming to be feeling at least a little bit better.

They all continued to bicker and laugh about various things for the remainder of the meal. Caesar joined in halfway through, while Joseph seemed to still be too sick to even attempt to get out of bed. So it was really just another normal sunday morning in the Joestar household.

Jotaro might not show it very often, but he really did appreciate these little domestic moments together with his family and friends. He would choose it over excess partying and socialising with strangers any day.  And it also served to be a pretty effective way to keep his mind off of a certain redhead for at least a little while.

Notes:

I kinda hate how this chapter turned out lol. Where the hell is this story even going? I don't have a clue. Jotaro has realized that he's gay at least so that's good

Chapter 6

Notes:

This chapter is FINALLY done! Sorry it took so long, I felt I had to figure out where this story was actually going before I could post this. But now I know what's going to happen next, so the future updates will hopefully be a bit quicker than this one.

Chapter Text

It had been almost a week since the party at the Joestar household. Kakyoin had assumed that things would be awkward between him and Jotaro, since he had gotten drunk, and probably said and did some things he shouldn’t have. But if anything they had just grown even closer.

They were now spending most of their school breaks together. Sometimes Avdol and Polnareff would join them as well, but Kakyoin had noticed that Avdol would often make up excuses for things that he and Polnareff allegedly needed to get done, so that Kakyoin would end up alone with Jotaro. He had most likely realized that there seemed to be something developing between them.

Unfortunately, Kakyoin himself didn’t know what exactly he and Jotaro were. He wasn’t blind, he had noticed the way Jotaro would look at him sometimes. It however didn’t seem like he was planning on acting on any of these feelings anytime soon. Kakyoin wasn’t even sure if Jotaro had actually realized that he’d developed some kind of romantic feelings towards him. So Kakyoin had decided to wait with his confession as well, until he better understood what Jotaro was thinking.

As if on queue, Jotaro turned in his desk to meet his gaze. He looked bored out of his mind and Kakyoin had to fight back a smile. It was by now late afternoon, on a Friday nonetheless, and all of his energy seemed to have left his body by now. Jotaro yawned loudly, which interrupted Mia in the middle of her speech.

“If you could actually try to focus, Joestar, maybe we won’t need to stay an hour overtime for once,” she commented coldly, before she kept talking on about whatever was on their agenda for today. Kakyoin hadn’t exactly been listening himself. Not when Jotaro’s broad shoulders and biceps were right in front of him.

They were in the midst of their bi-weekly project meet-up. Kakyoin couldn’t wait for Mia to just finish up and just let them go home for the weekend already. How could they be expected to be enthused about her rambling on about unnecessary facts about honeybees on a Friday afternoon anyway? At least Kakyoin thought it was about honeybees. For all he knew she could have been quoting the communist manifesto for the last ten minutes. It wasn’t like his brain was present enough to actually tell the difference.

Kakyoin was pretty sure that Trent had just straight up fallen asleep. Nobody had woken him up since things were significantly calmer without him feeling the need to input his unrelated opinions into their conversations anyways.

“Since nobody is listening, let’s just call it a day, shall we?” Mia let out a loud sigh before slamming her book onto Trent’s desk a little harder than necessary, effectively startling him awake.

“How about we meet again on Wednesday? Directly after last class?” she suggested. Trent and Jotaro just mumbled in agreement, both of them beginning to pack away their stuff.

“Um, I probably won’t be able to be here on Wednesday,” Kakyoin spoke up before anyone had the chance to leave.

“Why?” Mia demanded.

“Personal reasons,” Kakyoin evaded the question. He didn’t particularly like flaunting that fact he would be going into heat soon. Mia just quirked a single brow, but Kakyoin noticed how the two alphas tensed noticeably.

“Fine. If you can’t make it we’ll just text you the details,” Mia dismissed them with a wave of her hand. “I’ll see the rest of you next week then.”

The remaining three students took this as their cue to finally get going. Kakyoin stood by the door, tapping his foot impatiently as he waited for Jotaro to finish up. They had fallen into a routine where they would walk home together every day after school. Some days Kakyoin would come around to Jotaro’s place for a bit as well, but today he had other plans in mind.

“Ready to go?” he asked as Jotaro finally walked over to him. Jotaro just nodded in reply and gestured for Kakyoin to step out as he held the door open for him.

“So I was thinking,” Kakyoin started as Jotaro walked up beside him and they started making their way down the corridor. “If maybe you’d want to try coming over to my place for a change?”

“Oh. Yeah, sure,” Jotaro replied after a moment’s pause. “If your parents wouldn’t mind it, of course,” he quickly added.

“It’s fine, they’ve actually been pretty curious about you,” Kakyoin reassured him with a smile. Jotaro’s cheeks got slightly pink, and Kakyoin couldn’t help but feel triumphant when he quickly averted his gaze.

“Why is that?” Jotaro asked.

Kakyoin shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe I just talk about you a lot,” He held back a smirk when Jotaro’s cheeks reddened even more. It was ridiculously cute.

Jotaro mumbled something inaudible in reply. Kakyoin decided to stop teasing him for the rest of the walk home. There would be plenty of time to do that later anyway.

*********

Kakyoin’s mom had seemingly just gotten back from work when they arrived. His dad’s car was however nowhere to be seen. He probably had to work overtime, as he quite often did. Jotaro was anxiously fiddling with his hands as Kakyoin unlocked the front door.

“It’s gonna be alright,” Kakyoin reassured with a small chuckle. “There’s no need to be so nervous.”

Jotaro nodded, but Kakyoin could tell that he hadn’t calmed down one bit as he stepped inside behind him.

“Mom, I’m home!” Kakyoin announced loudly as he kicked off his shoes. The sound of clinking silverware could be heard from the kitchen. Kakyoin gestured for Jotaro to follow him.

His mom was humming cheerfully while putting away the dishes. When she heard footsteps moving into the room she turned around, a wide smile on her face which quickly changed to a look of surprise as she noticed Jotaro hovering awkwardly behind Kakyoin.

“You brought a friend over, Noriaki?” the smile immediately returned to her face as she quickly moved over to shake Jotaro’s hand.

“Yeah, this is Jotaro. He’s the new friend I’ve been telling you about,” Kakyoin said with a grin.

“Hello Mrs. Kakyoin, I’m sorry for showing up without notice-”

“Oh nonsense, any friends of Noriaki’s are always welcome here. And please call me Yuzuki” She smiled sweetly at him. Kakyoin watched as Jotaro’s cheeks reddened when she began fussing over him. He however didn’t seem to mind her motherly affection.

Yuzuki soon let up on him and took a step back. “I’ll be starting dinner soon, I’ll tell you when it is ready.” she gave them both one final smile before going back to the waiting dishes.

“We’ll be in my room then,” Kakyoin said, poking Jotaro in the side to get him moving back down the hall.

“Keep the door open!” Yuzuki’s voice rang through the air before they could turn the corner. Jotaro was close to tripping over his own feet, but Kakyoin just waved her off. He knew it was just an extra precaution since Jotaro was an alpha.

“Here we are, sorry it’s so messy,” Kakyoin said as he pushed the bedroom door open. Some empty bags of chips and various articles of clothing were strewn around the floor. He probably should have cleaned up a bit before deciding to invite Jotaro over.

“And I know it’s nothing compared to your huge ass room, but it’s still big enough to fit the two of us. Even though you are so unnaturally tall,” Kakyoin joked as he stepped aside to let Jotaro into the room as well.

“No, this is nice. It’s a lot cozier than mine,” Jotaro commented as he looked around the cluttered room. Posters and figurines of various video-game characters were lining both the walls and any unutilized surfaces. Jotaro however seemed to be immediately drawn towards a large painting of a dark forest.

“You painted this?” Jotaro asked as he seemed to notice the small initials that Kakyoin had insisted on scribbling in the corner of every one of his drawings when he first started painting.

“Yup,” Kakyoin let out a small chuckle. “It’s pretty old by now though, so it’s not exactly my greatest work.”

“It’s good though. I like it,” Jotaro said. He reached out a hand as if he was going to touch it, but quickly withdrew his hand again.

“Thanks,” Kakyoin gave him a small smile. “So, what do you want to do? We could play something, we could watch the latest Star Wars movie. Oh! Or maybe we could have you try to draw something?”

Jotaro quickly shook his head. “I don’t know how to-”

But Kakyoin had already started rummaging through his cluttered drawers for some sketchbooks and pencils. He found some on the very bottom of the drawer and tossed one of the sketchbooks to Jotaro.

“You don’t have to be good at drawing to do it, you just have to have fun while you’re doing it,” he said with a smile as he gestured for Jotaro to sit down at the foot of the bed. Jotaro let out a sigh, but followed his instructions nonetheless.

“What do I even draw?” Jotaro asked as he opened up an empty page. He began drumming the pencil against it as his brows furrowed in concentration.

“Anything you want. But since I know how annoying that answer is, I’ll decide for us just this one time,” Kakyoin paused and looked around the room to find any inspiration. Drawing people were out of the question, since it wasn’t very beginner-friendly. Landscapes were usually a bit too abstract and could be quite tedious as well. Maybe an animal of some kind? Something that Jotaro would be familiar enough with to draw without a reference.

“Let’s draw otters,” Kakyoin decided. Jotaro raised an eyebrow at him.

“Otters?”

“Yeah, why not?”

Jotaro stayed silent for a moment before he shrugged. “Sure, let’s do it.”

They sat mostly in silence as they began sketching. Kakyoin noticed that Jotaro erased and redrew many of his lines several times before he seemed to be satisfied with them. His arm was however carefully placed so that Kakyoin wouldn’t be able to take a closer peek. Every now and then he would let out a small huff in frustration. Kakyoin fought back a smile and instead focused on finishing his own drawing by adding in some light shading.

“I don’t understand how you do it,” Jotaro broke the silence as he had seemingly finished his own sketch as well.

“A lot of practice. You don’t exactly learn how to draw over a night,” Kakyoin said as he turned to look at him. “Now show me, I wanna see how it came out!”

Jotaro shook his head and angled the sketchpad away so Kakyoin wouldn’t be able to see it.

“Fine, I’ll show you mine first then,” Kakyoin said, handing over his drawing to Jotaro.

Jotaro held it in his hands for a moment while he inspected it closer. “It’s pretty, but I don’t think that Otters actually wear hats,” he finally commented, a small smile playing at his lips.

“His name is Jotarotter. He needs it to look authentic,” Kakyoin replied. He couldn’t help but break into a wide grin as Jotaro got visibly flustered.

“That’s terrible,” Jotaro said, but there was no real fire behind the words. He looked at the drawing with fondness in his eyes for a while longer, before handing it back to Kakyoin.

“Now then, it’s my turn to see yours!” Kakyoin said, giddy with anticipation.

“Wait a minute, I just want to add a final detail before I show it.”

Kakyoin raised an eyebrow but didn’t protest as Jotaro angled his body away so that he wouldn’t be able to see what he quickly scribbled onto the drawing. Kakyoin was instead focused on the way the corners of Jotaro’s mouth had tilted upwards ever so slightly.

“Done. Don’t be too harsh on me now,” Jotaro said as he turned back.

Kakyoin leaned into him slightly so that he could properly look at the drawing. It wasn’t actually bad at all. Some lines were a bit too sketchy, and there were some slight proportion-issues, but overall it was quite nice. One thing did however stand out from the drawing, which he guessed was what Jotaro had added just a moment ago - a long, wavy squiggle of hair on the otter’s head.

“Is that supposed to be my hair-thingy?” Kakyoin let out a small laugh.

“Yup. I personally think that I really nailed that part,” Jotaro said.

Kakyoin suddenly realized how close they were to each other. He could feel the warmth of Jotaro’s breath against his ear as he spoke. A slight tingling sensation moved down his spine and Kakyoin repressed a shudder.

“It’s actually really good. If you’d just work on getting some more confident lines you’d be a pro in no time,” Kakyoin leaned away a bit and gave Jotaro a small smile. “I’m really impressed, he actually looks really cute.”

Jotaro let out a huff of laughter before he met Kakyoin’s gaze. “Well. I guess I succeeded then,” Jotaro paused for a moment as he seemed to think his next words over.

“Because you also look-”

“Noriaki, Jotaro, dinner is ready!” Both Kakyoin and Jotaro visibly jumped as Yuzuki peeked her head in through the doorway. Kakyoin’s heart felt like it was beating at a million times a second. It was both from the surprise of being so suddenly interrupted, and because what Jotaro had been saying had almost sounded like the beginning of a confession.

“We’ll be there in a minute, mom,” Kakyoin called out to her, and she walked back towards the kitchen. Luckily it didn’t seem like she had noticed anything going on between them.

“I should probably get going then,” Jotaro hastily stood up from the bed, looking anywhere but at Kakyoin.

“Stay, we’d be happy to have you,” Kakyoin said. Jotaro stopped momentarily.

“I don’t want to be imposing on you.”

“And you wouldn’t be! Now come on, you have to taste my mom’s cooking,” Kakyoin smiled as Jotaro eventually nodded and followed him back to the kitchen.

Kakyoin’s dad was busy complaining about having to work overtime yet another day when they stepped into the room. As soon as he noticed they had company he immediately trailed off and broke into a wide smile.

“Ah, you must be the Joestar boy I’ve been hearing so much about!” he said as he walked over to eagerly shake Jotaro’s hand.

“Yes, um, my name is Jotaro.”

“I’m Minato. I’m little Noriaki here’s father, in case the hair color didn’t make it obvious,” he chuckled and gave the glaring Kakyoin a small wink. His dad loved to try and embarrass him at every chance he got.

Jotaro looked like he was about to say something, but Minato cut him off before he had a chance to.

“So, Joestar. You have some brothers if I’m not mistaken?”

“Yes sir. There are four of us,” Jotaro responded. Minato hummed in consideration. He still held Jotaro’s hand in a vice grip.

“I’ve heard some rumors about the things you boys get up to. Drinking, getting into fights, you seem to be quite the troublemakers,” Minato’s eyes narrowed slightly as he watched Jotaro like a hawk. Even though he was significantly shorter, it was clear that Jotaro felt intimidated by him.

“Dad, lay off the whole intimidating alpha thing, please,” Kakyoin sighed and ushered the two men over to the dinner table. Jotaro visibly relaxed as Kakyoin sat down in the seat beside him.

Luckily Minato behaved rather well for the duration of the dinner. He would often ask Jotaro questions about what he planned to study in the future, and if he had ever considered moving out of the country. Jotaro answered all his questions as best as he could.

Kakyoin noticed how his dad’s eyes stayed practically glued to Jotaro, as if he was watching his every move. Kakyoin had an idea of what it meant, and the small glances thrown his way every now and then confirmed his suspicions. He was checking if Jotaro would be a suitable mate for his son.

At least Jotaro didn’t seem too uncomfortable, even though he was so heavily scrutinized. He didn’t have any trouble talking about his future plans for his studies, and telling stories of what all his brothers were like.

Before Kakyoin knew it, they had all finished eating, and his mom got up to clean off the table. They all fell into a slightly uncomfortable silence, none of them managing to come up with anything to keep the conversation going with.

“I really should get going now. Jonathan might get worried if I stay out too long,” Jotaro said as he stood up from the table. “Thank you all for your hospitality.”

“We loved having you, please feel free to come over whenever you want,” Yuzuki told him with a smile. Jotaro just nodded in response.

“I’ll walk you to the door,” Kakyoin said as he stood up as well. He elbowed his dad sharply in the side when he made an attempt to follow then. He seemed to get the hint as he stayed behind, even though his sulking expression told Kakyoin that he clearly would have preferred to oversee their goodbye. Sometimes alphas really didn’t know when it would be appropriate to take a step back.

Kakyoin stood by as Jotaro shrugged on his coat, before finally throwing his book bag over his shoulder.

“Today was nice. Thanks for inviting me over. And thanks for letting me stay for dinner,” Jotaro said as he buried both of his hands in his coat pockets.

“It’s no problem, we all loved having you over,” Kakyoin flashed him a bright smile.

“Good. I guess I’ll see you Monday then? If you don’t wanna go do something during the weekend, that is?”

“I wouldn’t mind that.” Kakyoin nodded. “I’ll text you.”

“Yeah, okay,” Jotaro readjusted his hat before opening the door. He hesitated for a bit in the doorway. It was almost like he was contemplating if he had forgotten to do something.

“Bye, Jotaro, be safe out there,” Kakyoin said.

“I will. And goodbye, Kakyoin,” Jotaro gave him one final small smile before he stepped outside and shut the door behind himself.

Kakyoin let out a breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding in. Tonight had gone well. Maybe not as well as he might have liked, but they were without a doubt moving forward. Baby steps.

Kakyoin peeked around the corner of the hallway before he slowly started sneaking his way towards his bedroom. If he managed to stay quiet, maybe his parents wouldn’t notice him and he could-

“Stop right there, young man!”

Kakyoin let out a deep sigh. Of course his dad would be hiding just around the corner waiting for him to finish up with Jotaro.

“Yes, dad?”

“You can escape back to your room once we’ve had a talk. Now sit.” He nodded towards the couch behind him.

Kakyoin took a seat on it and Minato sat down in an armchair opposite him. He crossed his legs and clasped his hands together as he regarded Kakyoin with a stern gaze.

“Well, Jotaro is quite the well-mannered young man, isn’t he?” Kakyoin could tell that his dad attempted to keep his voice stern, but his true feelings were instantly betrayed by the smile that was threatening to break out on his face at any moment.

“Yup. So I’m guessing that you liked him?” Kakyoin replied.

“I must admit that I was a little on the fence at first. Because of some of the stories I’ve heard about that one brother of his, but Jotaro seems to be a tad more well-behaved than him,” Minato narrowed his eyes and pointed a finger at Kakyoin. “Buton the other hand, he is way too tall for you.”

“How could he be too tall for me?” Kakyoin immediately asked with a raised eyebrow.

Minato simply shrugged. “I don’t know. I had to make something up so I could play the role of an overprotective father, didn’t I?”

Kakyoin let out a small laugh at his words. His dad broke into a smile as well.

“So I’m guessing you like him then?” Minato asked. His eyes had softened significantly as he watched Kakyoin’s reaction.

“Yeah,” Kakyoin answered after just a short moment of deliberation. Because he really did like Jotaro. A lot. And just thinking about him made his heart rate speed up.

“I’m glad that you finally found someone special to you,” Minato said in a barely audible voice.

Kakyoin just nodded and felt how his cheeks heated up. He knew that his parents had been worried about him for a long time. About how he never seemed to have any friends, or get even remotely close to anyone. And he was glad that they could be a little more at ease now that he had found Jotaro.

“Yeah, me too.”

They sat in silence for a couple more minutes before his Minato finally cleared his throat.

“Well then, I believe you were going to escape back to your room before I caught you?” He let out a small chuckle as Kakyoin got the hint and immediately got up and hurried over to his room, closing the door shut behind himself.

He let out a breath of relief as he was finally alone. Now he would have the chance to go over his feelings without getting interrupted. It was at this point pretty clear to him that Jotaro liked him back. And on top of that, his parents had approved of him as well.

Kakyoin couldn’t help but feel giddy with excitement about developing his first real crush. A crush that was most likely mutual.

Things were good. A lot better than they had been in a very long time. And for the first time in his life, Kakyoin couldn’t wait to see what the future had in store for him next.

Notes:

Kakyoin deserves to have good parents who love and appreciate him, and I sure as hell am going to give them to him.

Chapter 7

Notes:

I know I said that this chapter would be up sooner, and I'm sorry. I've been in a bit of a writing slump, but I think I have gotten over it now.

This chapter is pretty short, but the next one is gonna be looong, so stay tuned for that!

Chapter Text

Jotaro didn’t care much for weekends.

Weekends for him simply meant that all four Joestar-brothers were going to be home at the same time, which was chaotic at best, and catastrophic at worst. Today seemed like it would end up being closer to catastrophic.

Josuke had needed something to do for a science experiment, and unfortunately Joseph had come up with the idea of putting some aluminum foil in the microwave to see if it could manage to properly heat up their lunch before the whole thing caught on fire. Jotaro hadn’t had the energy to try and stop them, and Jonathan had been upstairs.

The answer to their question had been no, and on top of that they now also needed a new microwave.

Jotaro settled for simply ignoring all the commotion coming from the kitchen. It wasn’t his idea, therefore he shouldn’t have to deal with the consequences either.

Jotaro felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. It was a new text-message from Kakyoin. Jotaro’s heart rate sped up, and he immediately opened it.

‘I’m booored as fuck. You wanna go to that new-ish café by the park? I’ve heard they make really good cake ^^’

Jotaro did not even have to think over the offer before he quickly tapped out a response.

‘Yes.’

He only realized that his reply was probably a bit too short to be polite after he had already hit send. But before he had the time to overthink it, his phone buzzed again.

“Lmao. Meet you there in twenty? :P’

‘Yes.’

Jotaro internally facepalmed. He however didn’t have any time to wallow in self-pity, since he would have to get going if he wanted to make it on time to his and Kakyoin’s… date? Could this be considered a date? They hadn’t actually gone anywhere together that wasn’t one of their houses before, so perhaps it was. Jotaro chose not to dwell over the fact any longer, since it would only end up making him even more nervous.

Joseph and Josuke peered their heads around the kitchen doorway as he put on his jacket.

“Where are you going, Joot? I thought we were all going to the moves later,” Joseph asked, clearly curious to his brother’s sudden change of plans.

“None of your business,” Jotaro muttered as he looped his scarf around his neck.

“That means that it’s a date,” Joseph fake-whispered to Josuke, loud enough that Jotaro would hear him. Jotaro quickly turned around so neither one of them would be able to see the flush creeping up on his cheeks.

“Bye,” Jotaro said and was out the door before any of them could protest any further.

He started making his way towards their decided meeting-spot. Being late to their first date would be bad, so Jotaro made sure to hurry.

Was this even a date? Kakyoin hadn’t specified that it was. Maybe it was just Jotaro’s own wishful thinking making him believe so. Both Avdol and Polnareff had insisted that Kakyoin definitely wanted to be more than friends, but his trust in his two friends was severely limited. They did have a bad habit of constantly messing with him after all.

When Jotaro arrived outside the café Kakyoin was already there waiting for him. Ha gave him a smile and a wave as he noticed Jotaro walking towards him.

“Hey! You’re right on time,” Kakyoin said as Jotaro halted to a stop in front of him.

Jotaro decided that he loved the way Kakyoin looked out of his school uniform. Instead of his usual green coat he was now sporting a white one, that went down below his knees. It made him look quite elegant. On his head he wore a bright red beanie, from under which his hair noodle was threatening to burst out of at any moment.

“You done staring yet?” Kakyoin asked. Jotaro’s gaze instantly snapped back to his face, only to find him with a mischievous smirk on his lips.

“I wasn’t… Let’s just get inside,” Jotaro answered. He took the lead to give himself some time to gather himself up again. Kakyoin was always so straightforward and didn’t seem to have any shame about anything.

Jotaro could thankfully distract himself by looking over the cafés large selection of sweets. In all honesty, he wasn’t really a fan of overly sugary stuff, but Kakyoin seemed to be completely mesmerized by their many overly bright and decorated options. Jotaro watched as he carefully scanned over every row, before he finally settled on what looked like a piece of cherry cake. Jotaro decided to get some chocolate cake, which seemed to be the most normal and neutral thing there.

“You want to split the bill?” Kakyoin asked as they were done picking out their orders.

Jotaro was not sure what the right answer to that would be. Should he offer to pay for all of it, since it would be a nice thing to do? Or would Kakyoin think he was just upholding some dumb alpha-omega stereotypes? But if he suggested they split the bill, maybe Kakyoin would think that he was being a cheap asshole who didn’t even have the decency to pay for a piece of cake for his date.

“Earth to Jotaro, earth to Jotaro,” Jotaro was brought back to reality by Kakyoin snapping his fingers in front of his face.

“Uhm. I can pay if you want,” Jotaro finally answered. To his relief, Kakyoin didn’t look offended, and just stepped aside so that he could pay the cashier.

“Great. Then I’ll pay on our next date,” Kakyoin said cheerfully.

That might have made Jotaro accidentally drop one of his coins. But if Kakyoin noticed he chose to be polite and didn’t mention it.

The cake was better than Jotaro though it would be, but it quickly became too sweet for him. He ended up letting Kakyoin finish the last of his piece while he instead enjoyed his pitch-black coffee. Kakyoin insisted on taking a sip as well, but he quickly regretted his decision as the hot, bitter liquid burned his tongue. Jotaro couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle as Kakyoin sat with his tongue poking out between his lips for the next couple of minutes, desperately trying to cool it down.

The café had gotten increasingly more crowded the longer while sat there. The surrounding chatter had gotten a lot louder as well, so they ended up leaving as soon as they finished up.

Jotaro wasn’t sure what was supposed to happen next. Was their date over now? should they just say their goodbyes and head back home? Maybe. But Jotaro didn’t want their day to end just yet.

“Do you wanna just walk around for a bit? Or something like that?” Jotaro eventually asked.

“Sure! Since I just moved here recently I haven’t gotten to see too much of the city yet. Maybe you could show me around a bit?” Kakyoin answered with a smile.

Jotaro knew that he would most likely be a terrible guide, but when Kakyoin looked at him with those sparkling eyes he found it impossible to decline.

So he showed Kakyoin around to all his favorite places in town, and some places he thought Kakyoin might enjoy. Kakyoin seemed to be especially enthused by the local arcade, just as Jotaro had suspected.

“This is a lot bigger than the one we had in my old town. We should go here next time, I’m sure we’ll manage to find at least one game that you’ll enjoy,” Kakyoin said with a smile.

“Sure,” Jotaro said. He hesitated for a moment before he continued.

“But only if l get to take you to the aquarium the time after that.”

Kakyoin just gave him a bright smile in return.

The last stop on their little tour was at Jotaro’s favorite park. It was still warm enough outside that a number of ducks were swimming around in the little pond. Jotaro gestured for Kakyoin to sit down beside him on one of the nearby benches. A couple of ducks soon waddled closer, seemingly searching for food.

“Oh, if I knew we were coming here I would have brought something to feed them with,” Kakyoin said as he experimentally reached closer to test how near the ducks he could get without scaring them away.

“I got you covered,” Jotaro said as he dug through one of his inner coat-pockets. He eventually found what he was looking for, and pulled out a small bag of uncooked rice, handing it over to Kakyoin.

“We can feed them this?” Kakyoin asked, shaking the bag slightly. The rattling noise seemed to peak a nearby ducks interest, and he waddled closer.

“Yes. It’s just a common misconception that you shouldn’t feed rice to birds. It is actually completely harmless to them,” Jotaro answered. “Try it.”

Kakyoin followed his orders and scattered some of the rice in front of them. The closest duck immediately started eating them, and a few others soon joined in as well.

“So, do you always carry a bag of rice around with you?” Kakyoin asked. He let out a laugh as he successfully got one of the ducks to take a grain of rice from the palm of his hand.

“Not always. Just if I know I’ll be going into town,” Jotaro shrugged.

“Do you do it often? They seem to be quite comfortable around people?” Kakyoin asked, turning his attention back towards Jotaro.

“Every now and then,” Jotaro attempted to hide his now flushed cheeks behind his scarf. Kakyoin just shot him another smile, but didn’t say anything else. Jotaro stayed silent for another few moments, before he managed to gather enough courage to keep speaking.

“This was one of my mom’s favorite places,” he said. “We used to go here a lot when I was a kid.”

“I see,” Kakyoin’s voice was unusually soft. “Want to tell me about her? If you’re up to talking about it, of course.”

Jotaro stayed silent for another minute while he gathered his thoughts and feelings. But Kakyoin didn’t press on any further. Instead he just patiently waited to see if Jotaro would continue or not.

“When I was around seven we used to go here every single Sunday during the summer holidays. Mom would prepare some fruits and sandwiches that we would always bring with us and eat. Jonathan and I would eat most of them, and Joseph would spend the entire time complaining that he wanted candy instead,” Jotaro couldn’t help but smile at the memory.

“Jonathan and Joseph would always run around and have pretend-fights, but Joseph refused to let me play with them because he claimed I was too small. Dad would usually keep watch over then, and in the meanwhile mom, Josuke and I started feeding the ducks instead. It kind of became our little thing.”

“But soon afterward, she got sick.” Jotaro tried to push down the emotions that threatened to well up inside him. He almost never talked about either of his parents. It was usually too painful to bring up, so he would just push all the negative thoughts down and pretend that everything was fine.

Jotaro was startled back to reality as Kakyoin’s hand came to gently rest on top of his.

“It’s alright,” he said as his thumb softly stroked over the Jotaro’s knuckles. “You don’t have to keep going if you don’t want to.”

Jotaro nodded, not daring to say anything else in case his voice would break. He was thankful that Kakyoin wasn’t trying to push the subject any further. They sat in silence for another few minutes, just watching the ducks waddling back the pond after having finished all the rice.

“Did I ever tell you that I lived in Tokyo for a while when I was a kid?” Kakyoin asked, his voice having turned back to its usual carefree self. Jotaro just shook his head.

He closed his eyes as he listened to Kakyoin ramble on about everything from the convenience store in which his favorite candy bar was 10 yen cheaper than in all other stores. Or about the time he had accidentally kidnapped a kitten because he didn’t understand that you couldn’t just pick up pets from the street and decide that they were yours.

Jotaro could soon feel his mood begin to change back for the better. He would every now and then chuckle at all the troubles that a young Kakyoin seemed to have a habit of getting himself into.

Kakyoin’s hand was still resting against his, neither of them having the heart to break the physical contact. Jotaro didn’t think he would mind even if Kakyoin decided to keep it there forever.

Eventually, Kakyoin’s stories halted to an end. The two of them fell into a comfortable silence, while they watched the ducks splash around in the pond. Jotaro wasn’t sure exactly when their fingers had intertwined, but he wasn’t complaining. And it didn’t seem like Kakyoin minded either.

“Thank you,” Jotaro said.

“What for?” Kakyoin asked as he turned his head to look at him.

“Everything. For just keeping me company. For keeping me distracted,” Jotaro met his gaze. “I haven’t actually been here together with someone since mom…” Jotaro trailed off.

“Any time,” Kakyoin said. Jotaro noticed how the grip on his hand tightened a bit.

“Should be start going back soon? The sun is starting to set.” Kakyoin commented.

Jotaro hadn’t even noticed that the sky had indeed begun to darken. How long had they been sitting there for?

“Yeah. You up for walking back home?”

“Sure thing,” Kakyoin answered with a smile.

They got up and started making their way back toward their neighborhood. Their hands were still linked together between them, and stayed like that for the remainder of their walk. Jotaro liked the added warmth that Kakyoin’s hand emitted in the quickly dropping temperatures.

It was completely dark outside by the time they arrived at Kakyoin’s house. Their hands separated reluctantly as they came to a stop outside of the gate.

“I had fun today,” Kakyoin said, giving Jotaro a wide grin. “We should do this again sometime soon.”

“Yeah,” Jotaro nodded.

“I guess I’ll see you some time next week then?” Kakyoin said. He looked like he was about to turn around and leave, but before he had a chance to do so, Jotaro reached out to stop him.

“Wait.”

Kakyoin stopped and looked at him expectantly.

Jotaro’s mind was racing. Would it really be alright to do this? Or would it be too forward or creepy? Jotaro didn’t know how this whole courting thing was supposed to work. Not one bit.

Jotaro eventually unlooped the scarf from around his neck, and ran his fingers against it before he started talking.

“I’m sorry if this is sudden, or if I’m reading things...wrong,” he paused, his eyes still glued to the scarf in his hands.

“But I know that your heat is due, and I wanted to give you this so that you’ll be more comfortable,” Jotaro finally forced his gaze upwards, only to find Kakyoin’s eyes to be wide open and staring straight at him.

Jotaro knew that this was a big step. Giving away a piece of your own clothing was a common way of asking someone to begin courting.

Jotaro was just about to retract his hands when Kakyoin reached out, carefully grabbing hold of the scarf.

“I’ll accept it,” he gave him a soft smile, and Jotaro didn’t miss the slight flush that was now covering Kakyoin’s cheeks as well. “Thank you, it means a lot.”

Kakyoin took a step back and looped the scarf around his own neck. His eyes closed momentarily as he buried his face in it, taking in Jotaro’s scent. Jotaro could feel his own heartbeat speed up at the sight.

He wanted nothing more than to just reach out, grab him by the shoulders and kiss him. But he couldn’t. He was already feeling like he might implode at any second, and a first kiss would be one step more than he could take right now.

Kakyoin opened his eyes again, seemingly unaware of Jotaro’s inner turmoil. He leaned in to loop his arms around Jotaro’s shoulders, nuzzling his face into his neck in the process. Jotaro quickly moved his arms around Kakyoin’s back, to pull him in even closer.

They stayed like that for a long time. Kakyoin’s fingers playing with the hair at the back of Jotaro’s neck, while Jotaro’s hands busied themselves with running up and down Kakyoin’s sides.

Eventually, Kakyoin pulled away. Jotaro could swear that he felt his lips ghost against his cheek briefly before he stepped back.

“We’ll talk more next week, yes?  So I don’t end up saying something stupid with my heat-brain,” Kakyoin let out a small chuckle.

“Yeah,” Jotaro said with a nod. His mouth had gone unnaturally dry, and he didn’t trust him enough to say anything else.

With a final goodbye, Kakyoin turned and walked through the gate into his front garden. He stopped momentarily to give Jotaro one last wave before he walked in through the door.

As soon as the door closed behind him, Jotaro started making his way back to his own home. His steps were lighter than normal, an unfamiliar and overwhelming feeling of giddiness filling up every inch of him.

Not even the thought of how much Joseph and Josuke would torment him about this was enough to make his spirit drop. Because his gift had been accepted, and he was now officially courting Noriaki Kakyoin.

Notes:

*Please note the updated tags, since this chapter does contain some stuff that might be triggering. I will put a more thorough description of what happens in the end-note, so I don't spoil too much through the tags*

Well, this chapter got a lot longer than I thought it would be. But it's a pretty big one, so I guess that it's necessary. Also, thank you Mitch for doing some proofreading!

Chapter Text

Kakyoin hated his heats.

They usually only lasted around four days, and they were nowhere near as severe as the ones many other omegas went through, but he still absolutely hated them. He hated just being stuck in his room, his mind clouding over thanks to his stupid body’s desperation to mate. The fact that they only happened every three months was his only real comfort.

Kakyoin has never had an alpha anywhere near him during any of his heats. Mostly because he hadn’t had anyone he wanted to spend those four days with. And while he had technically been alone this time around as well, he at least had Jotaro’s scarf to bring him comfort.

Kakyoin was embarrassed to admit that he had spent the majority of these last days with his face buried in said scarf. While he, at the peak of his heat, had wanted nothing more than for Jotaro himself to just show up and do unspeakable things to him, it had still been enough to... relieve some of the tensions.

Even now he could still feel some of its effects lingering in the back of his mind, but it wasn’t anything a suppressant couldn’t take care of. He had already missed three full days of school and he wasn’t about to miss another.

Plus, he really wanted to see Jotaro again.

They hadn’t talked since Saturday night when Jotaro had given him his scarf. Kakyoin had desperately wanted to text him, but had managed to refrain from doing so. The last thing he wanted was to screw up their still developing relationship by saying something inappropriate thanks to his heat-brain.

Jotaro hadn’t left his mind for even a second during the last few days, and Kakyoin was still having a hard time focusing on anything else besides him. He wanted nothing more than to just find Jotaro as soon as possible, so that they could deepen their relationship further.

Kakyoin buried his face in the scarf around his neck and took in a deep breath. Unfortunately, the scarf had been washed, but he could still sense a bit of Jotaro’s scent in it.

He took a few more breaths before walking in through the school’s front door. The scents of various alphas, betas and omegas alike hit him in the face like a ton of bricks. He was without a doubt going to be in for a headache today.

He quickly made his way over to where Jotaro’s locker was located, hoping to be able to talk to him before their first class started. And as luck would have it, Jotaro was indeed there, but so was a gathering of omegas and betas. They were endlessly buzzing about around him, desperate for his attention to be directed their way. But Jotaro’s brows were furrowed in a deep frown, irritation evident on his face.

One of the omegas had looped both her arms around Jotaro’s bicep, desperately clinging onto him. Kakyoin’s eyes narrowed. Some people really didn’t know how to take a hint. Maybe it was about time that someone taught them a lesson.

“Jotaro!” Kakyoin called out loud enough to overpower the loud buzz of the students around them.

Jotaro’s head immediately spun around, relief evident on his face as soon as he spotted Kakyoin. Kakyoin couldn’t help but grin as he noticed how the group of omegas quieted down, watching over their every move.

“Hey, you’re back. How are you, uh, holding up?” Jotaro asked as he walked up to him.

“I’m alright. A lot better than I would normally be, thanks to this,” Kakyoin gestured to Jotaro’s scarf, which was still wrapped tightly around his neck. He didn’t miss the upset whispers and angry glares that were directed his way. This was definitely going to spark up some interesting rumors.

“I’m glad,” Jotaro said, adjusting his cap so that it would cover more of his face from Kakyoin’s gaze. Jotaro’s shoulders were stiff, showing that he knew just how many people were currently scrutinizing their every move. Kakyoin gave him an understanding smile, which luckily seemed to make Jotaro relax a bit.

“You-,” Jotaro trailed off, leaning in closer to Kakyoin’s ear. “You look really nice wearing that,” he said in a hushed voice, so that nobody but Kakyoin would be able to hear.

“Thank you,” Kakyoin whispered back, a bright smile on his lips. “I was hoping that maybe we-”

Kakyoin was interrupted mid-sentence by the bell going off, signaling that they both needed to head off towards their respective classes. Kakyoin groaned internally.

“Can we talk later? Alone, preferably,” Kakyoin asked.

“Yeah of course. I’ll try and catch you during one of the breaks?” Jotaro said, stepping out of the way as the people around them started making their way to their own classrooms.

“Then it’s a date,” Kakyoin said with a grin. Jotaro gave him a small smile in return.

“It is. I’ll see you later then,” Jotaro raised his hand in goodbye before hurrying off, the group of omegas fast on his heels.

Kakyoin could feel that all eyes were on him as he spun around to walk back down the corridor. But he couldn’t really blame them. It wasn’t every day that you found out that the one and only Jotaro Joestar was courting somebody.

Some omegas would scoff and whisper behind his back, but Kakyoin would just look them straight in the eye and tug on the scarf around his neck. They would then grow red and immediately turn back around, pretending that he didn’t exist. Kakyoin had to bite back the grin that threatened to erupt every time, it always felt good to put people in their place.

The stares didn’t stop for the whole rest of the day. Rumors about him and Jotaro had begun to spread like crazy. Some people seemed to believe that they had already mated, or that they were even secretly married. Others believed that Kakyoin had some kind om ability to control people's minds, and that was how he had gotten Jotaro wrapped around his skin. But Kakyoin was way too entertained by the rumors to try and correct them.

There was however one major problem directly caused by the traction. Getting Jotaro alone proved to be practically impossible.

He had always been surrounded by heaps of people, but today had to break some kind of record. Omegas were skittering around, desperate to find out if the rumors were true or not. In the end, Kakyoin didn’t even get the opportunity to properly talk to him during their lunch break.

Growing more and more frustrated as the day went on, he finally settled for just sending him a text.

People are being annoying pieces of shits. Can we talk after school instead? I can come meet u after last class?’

He didn’t have to wait long for a response.

‘Sure. My last class is in room C045. See you’

Kakyoin let out a breath of relief. He doubted that people would voluntarily stay behind after school had finished just to keep track of them. And if someone did, Kakyoin wasn’t afraid to starts swinging some fists.

He was startled out of his daydreaming by his phone buzzing again. It was another text from Jotaro.

‘XO’

Kakyoin didn’t stop smiling for the remainder of class.

*********

The last period finally rolled around, and Kakyoin could barely contain his excitement. Just another 45 minutes, of art class nonetheless, and then he could finally be able to have a real talk with Jotaro.

He wondered who would confess first. It would probably end up being him. Jotaro was a lot more reserved than he was after all. And it would all be worth it just to see the blush that would undoubtedly appear on Jotaro.

“What’re you smiling about?”

Caesar’s voice startled him back to reality. But the slight smirk on Caesar’s face told him that he already knew exactly what it was about.

“I think you already know,” Kakyoin said with a grin as he tugged not-so-discreetly on the scarf around his neck.

“So, it’s official then? I’ve heard rumors and people seem to believe that you’ve either blackmailed Jotaro, or that you just stole his scarf and are showing it off for attention.”

Kakyoin couldn’t help but let out a snort at this.

“We haven’t really had a chance to properly talk since it all happened. But we will soon enough,” Kakyoin couldn’t help but match the grin that Caesar was still sporting. He was glad that he had someone that he could share the excitement of entering his very first relationship with.

Rohan made a loud gagging sound from the opposite side of the table. Caesar let out a loud sigh, but turned to face him regardless.

“You have anything to add, Rohan?”

“I do, actually,” Rohan’s face distorted in displeasure as he pointed his brush at Kakyoin. “I will never settle for an alpha. Fuck those people, I hate them all.”

“He’s just jealous because he can’t get anyone to look at him twice,” Caesar fake-whispered to Kakyoin, loud enough that Rohan would definitely be able to overhear him.

“Fuck you! I could so get someone if I wanted to!” Rohan hissed as he slapped Caesar’s hand with one of his brushes.

Kakyoin just rolled his eyes as the two of them continued to argue about things that Kakyoin did not have any interest in whatsoever. All his thoughts were still stuck on Jotaro.

He looked at the time. Just ten minutes left of class. His heart rate began to speed up. Just ten minutes more, and then he would finally be in Jotaro’s arms again. Just the two of them, alone.

Time kept snailing forward. Kakyoin’s eyes stayed practically glued to the clock on the wall, his painting having come to a complete halt. He wouldn’t be able to make something coherent in his current state anyways.

But of course , when there was just one minute left of the lesson their teacher decided that it was the perfect time to introduce their next assignment. a collective groan could be heard from all the students.

Typical. The one time that Kakyoin actually had a time that he needed to pass. He snuck out his phone from his pocket and began to tap out a quick message to Jotaro.

Teacher won’t stop talking, will probs be late :C’

‘Ok. Should I come wait outside your classroom?’

‘No it’s fine. I’ll be with you soon ^^’

Kakyoin hesitated for a moment before sending off a final message

‘XO’

With a satisfied smile, he leaned back and tried to focus on whatever his teacher was talking about. With Emphasis on the ‘tried’.

As soon as the teacher dismissed them Kakyoin said a quick goodbye to Caesar, and practically ran out the door. He would have to leave his things in his locker before he went to see Jotaro.

The corridors were by now completely empty. Kakyoin quickly unlocked his locker, throwing in his equipment. He’d have time to clean it all up later, right now he had more important things to focus on.

As soon as he closed the locker, he could feel that something was wrong. But Kakyoin attempted to keep his suspicions at bay. Jotaro wasn’t far away now, and it would just take him a minute or two to walk over there. And then they could finally-

“Where are you going in such a hurry, Kakyoin~”

Kakyoin immediately spun around, finding himself face to face with none other than Dio Brando. His lips were turned up in a polite smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. He was standing too close for comfort, and Kakyoin instinctively took a step back.

“I have somewhere I need to be,” Kakyoin decided that it would probably be wisest to stay vague. “I’d love to stay and chat, but I really should get going.”

Kakyoin turned and began to walk away with haste. But Dio was soon beside him again, clearly having no plans of letting him walk off on his own. Kakyoin tried ignoring him to the best of his ability.

“You know what I hate above everything else?” Dio asked.

“When people won’t take a hint and leave you alone?” Kakyoin answered, growing more and more irritated by the second.

Dio’s outstretched arm came out in front of him, effectively stopping him in his tracks. Kakyoin turned to glare at Dio, only to find himself already being watched by his cold eyes.

Charming . But no. What I hate more than anything else in the world are those fucking Joestars, every single one of them,” Dio’s eyebrows lowered into a frown, a look of clear distaste evident on his face.

“I’ll be sure to deliver the message, now If you’ll excuse me-” Kakyoin was cut off as Dio once again stopped him from walking off.

“I’ve already gotten revenge on both Jonathan and Joseph,” Dio continued as if this was a completely normal and not at all creepy conversation to have with someone. “But that Jotaro has always had a habit of always coming out on top somehow. So I think I need a new plan for hurting him.”

Kakyoin took a step backward, trying to put some distance between them. Dio had just gone from being a slightly creepy upperclassman to a borderline criminal. The look in his eyes had darkened significantly, and Kakyoin could tell that he was dead serious about everything he was saying.

“So challenge him to a fist-fight, or whatever it is you alpha’s do to display your dominance. I’m sure Jotaro would be more than happy to beat the shit out of you,” Kakyoin narrowed his eyes at Dio, who didn’t look even slightly amused by his suggestion.

“Not exactly the type of revenge I am looking for, Noriaki,” Dio said with a frustrated sigh.

Kakyoin hated the way his first name sounded coming out of his mouth. The way he played with the vowels as if he was trying to talk down at him.

“Fortunately for me, I actually came up with a much better idea. And it’s all thanks to you, Noriaki,” Dio broke into a wide smile. Which was somehow even creepier than the dark look he previously had.

“And what is that plan then?” Kakyoin asked.

The complete silence that followed after his question was almost deafening. Why did the hallways have to be completely empty? Kakyoin would give just about anything for somebody, anybody, to come and interrupt them right now.

“It all started at that party. I couldn’t help but noticing that Jotaro was busy making lovey-dovey eyes at you for the entire time I was there. And now it seems like things have become mutual between you two,” Dio reached out to play with the scarf still around Kakyoin’s neck.

“I know that he wants you. And I also know that he hasn’t actually claimed you yet. So my plan, Noriaki , is to take what he wants away from him.”

Kakyoin’s blood ran cold. There was no mistaking what he was alluding to. He tried to take another step backward, But Dio’s tight grip on his scarf stopped him from doing so.

Kakyoin’s mind was spinning to come up with a way to get out of his current situation. While he could attempt to fight Dio, he would without a doubt end up losing. His only other real option was to try and run, which at least seemed to have a somewhat higher chance of succeeding.

Unfortunately, today didn’t seem to be Kakyoin’s lucky day.

He had only made it a few steps before one of Dio’s arm came up around his shoulders, pulling him flush against his chest. Kakyoin tried to squirm away, but to no avail. Dio was much stronger than him.

“That wasn’t very nice of you, Noriaki,” Dio practically purred straight into his ear. Kakyoin cringed at the feeling of his breath against his skin.

One of Dio’s hands grabbed a handful of Kakyoin’s head, tugging it to the side to expose more of Kakyoin’s neck. And more precisely, his scent-gland.

Kakyoin stood frozen in place, his mind at a complete blank. He tried struggling against Dio’s grip, but he wasn’t giving in even a little.

He started panicking when he felt what was unmistakably teeth against the gland at the back of his neck.

“No, don’t-” but before Kakyoin could finish begging, a hand came down over his mouth, effectively shutting him up.

And then there was nothing but sharp pain as Dio’s teeth pierced his skin.

Kakyoin let out a muffled cry, trying to move away from Dio. But there was nowhere for him to go. He couldn’t do anything but helplessly wait it out.

He could feel his strength leave every single muscle in his body. It felt like he was floating, but in the worst way possible.

He no longer had the strength to stand up on his own, and the only thing keeping him upright was Dio’s tight grip around his shoulders. Everywhere Dio was touching him felt like it was on fire.

It must only have been a few minutes, but it felt like half an eternity before the teeth were redacted from his neck. But somehow this only made Kakyoin feel even worse. His whole body was still weak, and his mind clouded over.

“I think that ought to do it,” Dio mumbled against his skin before finally releasing him.

Kakyoin only barely managed to catch himself with his hands before colliding face-first into the floor.

Every single cell in his body felt off. It was almost like it wasn’t even his own body anymore. He tried to focus on what was going on around him, but his mind and body refused to cooperate. Was he still at school? How much time had passed? Kakyoin couldn’t even tell anymore.

Kakyoin could neither hear or see Dio walking away, but he could feel it. His mind was screaming at him to get up and follow after him at any cost. But there was also a small sliver of him that still had some rational thoughts left, which told him to stay as far away from him as humanly possible.

But the rational thoughts weren’t enough. Kakyoin gathered all of his strength, and tried to fully stand up. But his legs were still far too weak to hold him up. But he knew that he still had to do it somehow. And that he needed to do it now. Because if he waited for too long, Dio might end up leaving him behind. And he couldn’t even bear to think about being without him right now.

Kakyoin eventually ended up on his hands and knees, panting from pushing himself to the limit just to get this far. He took in a deep breath to try and gather himself, and that was when a familiar scent hit him.

Jotaro.

He needed to find Jotaro. Jotaro would know how to help him.

Jotaro’s scent was enough to ground him and clear up his mind for just a moment. Kakyoin somehow managed to gather enough strength to finally push himself up on his feet. He could still feel Dio’s presence in the back of his mind, and he could sense exactly where he was. But as long as he focused on Jotaro he found it in himself to move in the opposite direction.

Kakyoin was eternally grateful for the fact that the hallways were completely empty. Keeping focused on his goal was hard enough as it was, and he didn’t need any distractions getting in his way.

Relief flooded through him as soon as he noticed Jotaro. He was leaning up against the wall outside the classroom, eyes closed and arms crossed over his chest. His face was unusually relaxed, like he didn’t have a worry in the world.

His eyes opened as soon as he heard Kakyoin’s footsteps approaching. His lips started to turn upwards into a smile, but before it had time to fully form he froze in place. His eyes widened as he took in the state Kakyoin was in. Kakyoin wasn’t even sure of what he even looked like, but he had a feeling that it wasn’t very good. And he was probably absolutely drenched in Dio’s scent as well.

And then Kakyoin collapsed.

“Noriaki!”

Strong arms wrapped around him before he could fully sink onto the floor. Jotaro’s touch felt strange, and Kakyoin absolutely hated that a part of him was telling him to get away from him and look for Dio instead.

“Noriaki, what happened?” Jotaro had sunk down onto his knees, cradling Kakyoin tightly against his chest.

Kakyoin opened his mouth to speak, but he didn’t manage to get a single word out. All he could do was stare helplessly up into Jotaro’s wide-open eyes, hoping that he would understand.

Kakyoin felt a hand grab onto the scarf, carefully unwinding it from around his neck. Jotaro’s eyes visibly darkened as he noticed the still bleeding wound at the side of his neck.

He had never seen Jotaro with such an expression before. The Jotaro he knew might look intense or scary, but there was always a certain gentleness behind his eyes. But right now there was no trace of that gentleness anywhere to be found.

“Dio did this?” Jotaro’s voice was shaking slightly. Kakyoin only managed to nod in response, still not finding it in himself to actually speak.

“I’ll kill him.”

Kakyoin didn’t doubt that he really meant it for even a second.

His eyes dropped shut. He tried to focus on Jotaro’s hand gently running through his hair, but a constant buzz of Dio was always at the back of his mind.

Kakyoin could have sworn that he felt lips gently press against his forehead, but the touch was gone before he had any time to dwell on it further.

“It’s gonna be okay,” Jotaro promised. “I’ll take care of you. You’re gonna be alright.”

Kakyoin found himself believing him. Because Jotaro would never lie to him. And he trusted him fully. Kakyoin opened his eyes again and managed to give Jotaro a small, reassuring smile. The hand caressing his hair stilled momentarily, before picking back up again.

“I-I’m not sure what to do,” Jotaro confessed. He looked like he was close to freaking out. “We need to get you somewhere safe. Do you want me to take you home?”

Kakyoin immediately shook his head. His own house was an absolute no-go. He couldn’t bear the thought of his parents seeing him in this state. Especially since there would be nothing they could do to actually help him. They had already spent most of his childhood worrying about him, and Kakyoin did not want them to have to do it any longer.

“Okay...Okay,” Jotaro mumbled, nodding to himself. “What about the hospital?”

Kakyoin shook his head once again. Being surrounded by strange scents and hundreds of strangers sounded like his worst nightmare right now. And most importantly, he didn’t want Jotaro to leave him.

“I guess I could take you to my house, but then he would be just next door,” Jotaro said, watching Kakyoin’s reaction closely.

“Please,” Kakyoin managed to get out. His throat felt as if he hadn’t drunk anything for days.

“Is that what you want?” Jotaro asked, the uncertainty still clear on his face.

Kakyoin nodded. That would be the best solution. He couldn’t go home, and he did not want to go to a hospital. All he wanted was to stay close to Jotaro. And he knew that he would be safe under the roof of the Joestar household, even though Dio would be nearby.

“Okay,” Jotaro started fumbling through his coat pocket, pulling out his phone. “I’ll just call Joseph, he’ll come to pick us up, alright?”

Jotaro’s voice sounded frantic as he spoke on the phone. But Kakyoin found himself zoning out for most of their conversation. Jotaro’s unoccupied hand was resting on the side of Kakyoin’s face, his thumb stroking over his cheekbone absently. It felt like his hand was shaking, but Kakyoin wasn’t sure if it was actually real or just his imagination trying to trick him into believing so. He still had a difficult time focusing on anything other than the throbbing pain at the side of his neck.

“He’ll be here in just a couple of minutes. I’m going to have to carry you now, alright?” Jotaro said after he was finished with his call.

Kakyoin just nodded. He felt one of Jotaro’s arms hook behind his knees, and in the next moment he was lifted off the ground and into Jotaro’s arms. He rested his head against Jotaro’s chest, focusing on the rhythm of his heartbeat. It seemed faster than normal.

He could sense the distress coming off Jotaro in waves. Its scent was bitter, but Kakyoin nuzzled further into his jacket regardless. His eyes were growing heavier by the minute, and it didn’t take long for the sweet relief of sleep to fully take over him

********

The next thing Kakyoin noticed, was that he was currently laying down in the backseat of a car. The leather seats felt cool against his still hot skin, and Kakyoin found the contact to be comforting. There was however something missing; Jotaro was no longer holding him.

He could vaguely make out two hushed voices coming from the front seat, currently deep in a seemingly heated discussion. Kakyoin couldn’t quite make out what they were saying, but he immediately recognized one of the voices to be Jotaro’s. He guessed that the other one must belong to Joseph. He was supposed to come pick them up, right? Were they on their way back to the Joestar mansion right now? Kakyoin couldn’t quite tell.

Soon the door opened up next to him. Kakyoin hadn’t realized that the others had gotten out of the car, or that it had even stopped in the first place. His seatbelt was unbuckled, and someone gently grabbed hold around his waist, gently pulling him into an upright position.

“We’re here,” Jotaro’s voice reassured him. “Now we just have to get you inside the house.”

Kakyoin was once against picked up and pulled tightly against Jotaro’s chest. The air outside was cold, and Kakyoin was thankful for the warmth radiating off of Jotaro.

As soon as they stepped in through the door, the strong yet comforting scent of alphas filled his nostrils. Jotaro’s scent was still the strongest, but he could also distinguish three other distinct scents, all comforting in their own way. For the first time since Dio had marked him, he felt at peace and relief washed through his entire body.

He was carefully laid down onto a plush couch. It was the very couch that he had been sitting on, drunk out of his mind while laughing with Jotaro, just a mere couple of weeks earlier. That all seemed so very far away now.

“I’ll go get Jonathan,” he heard Joseph’s voice say. It was followed up by heavy footsteps quickly making their way up the staircase.

Kakyoin decided it was about time to try opening his eyes again. Everything was a lot brighter than he thought it would be, and he had to squint for a moment before getting used to it. His gaze honed in on Jotaro, who was kneeling beside the couch. His hand had once again begun to absently stroke Kakyoin’s hair.

“Hey,” Jotaro said as he noticed Kakyoin coming to. “How are you feeling?”

“Better,” Kakyoin managed to get out. His voice was raspy, and his throat burned. But his mind no longer felt as if it was under Dio’s control.

“Good,” Jotaro said with a nod. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, as if he wanted to say something but didn’t know how to begin.

“I’m sorry,” he said after a minute’s pause.

Kakyoin looked at him in confusion. Why was he apologizing? He hadn’t done anything wrong. In fact, he had done nothing but help him when he most needed it.

His confusion must have shown on his face, because Jotaro quickly continued.

“Dio did it because of me, didn’t he? He hurt you because he wanted to get back at me,” it was more of a statement than an actual question.

Kakyoin immediately shook his head. He wanted to explain to Jotaro that none of this was his fault, and that the only reason this happened was because Dio was practically evil incarnated. But there was no way that he could voice those thoughts in his current state.

Two pairs of footsteps could be heard coming back down the stairs. Jotaro quickly stood up, stepping aside as Jonathan walked up to the couch. He crouched down where Jotaro had been just a moment before, so that he was on eye level with Kakyoin.

“Kakyoin, how are you holding up?” Jonathan asked in a gentle voice, giving him a reassuring smile.

“I’ve been better,” Kakyoin croaked out. Jonathan let out a small chuckle.

“I can imagine,” he said. He turned to face Jotaro and Joseph. “You two go get some blankets and pillows other soft things from your rooms. I’ll watch over Kakyoin in the meanwhile.”

They both looked hesitant to leave. Kakyoin momentarily met Jotaro’s eyes and gave him what he hopes was a reassuring smile. Jotaro held his gaze for a moment, before he nodded and gestured for Joseph to start walking. Jonathan waited until they were both out of hearing range before he continued speaking.

“We’re going to surround you with things that have all our scents on them. That way it will be easier for you to get rid of those connections that you currently share with Dio,” Jonathan’s brows furrowed as he mentioned Dio’s name, but he quickly recovered and continued.

“You’ll feel much better in just a few minutes, I promise. And since it is a one-sided marking, the bond will disappear in two to three days. And then you will be fully back to normal again,” Jonathan gave him another smile.

Kakyoin opened his mouth to thank him, but was interrupted before he could say anything.

“Try not to speak too much just yet. Preserve your energy instead, your body is going through a lot right now.”

That was putting it lightly. Kakyoin had barely been able to move a muscle since he had collapsed in Jotaro’s arms.

He tried pushing himself up into a sitting position, and found that he just barely had enough energy to successfully do so. While his mind had cleared up significantly, his body had yet to get the memo that the danger had passed.

Jotaro and Joseph soon came back down the stairs. Both of them had an armful of different blankets each, just as Jonathan had instructed them.

All three Joestar-men gathered around him and began to wrap him up in the various items. It was like a makeshift nest of sorts, like the one he would have during his heats. Kakyoin couldn’t help but smile as Jotaro fluffed up a pillow to put behind his neck.

“Thank you,” Kakyoin said, making sure to look each of them in the eye. He couldn’t help but feel embarrassed about them seeing him in this state. He knew that there was no reason to be. Realistically there wasn’t anything he could have done to prevent it. And he knew that Jotaro didn’t mind helping him. And Jonathan and Joseph probably didn’t mind either.

But he still couldn’t stop the negative feeling from gnawing at the back of his mind. He hated feeling this weak and powerless. And he hated when others saw him as such just because he happened to be an omega.

Jonathan gave him one last smile, before he turned and gestured for Joseph to follow him back to the kitchen. Joseph looked like he was about to protest, but Jonathan quickly ushered him out of the room, leaving Kakyoin alone with Jotaro.

Jotaro stood by awkwardly, shoulders tense and hands buried deep in his pockets. He looked lost, and like he didn’t know if he should keep some distance between them or not. Kakyoin pat the spot next to him on the couch to get his attention.

“Sit,” he requested. Jotaro nodded and quickly sat down, making sure to still keep a good amount of distance between them.

“Why so far away? I don’t bite,” Kakyoin couldn’t help but to shoot Jotaro a teasing smile.

Jotaro’s reaction told him that it was still too early to make jokes about biting. But he moved in a bit closer regardless.

“Are you feeling better now?” Jotaro asked.

“Yeah. I think the worst has passed,” Kakyoin cleared his throat. His voice was still struggling to keep up.

He could hear raised voices coming for the kitchen. It seemed like Jonathan and Joseph were arguing about something. He could occasionally make out Dio’s name, so he had a feeling he knew what it was about.

This whole situation was completely screwed up. The Joestars had all had their fair share of trouble with Dio, but Kakyoin didn’t think that Dio had ever involved someone else into their ongoing feud before. And he had a feeling that this would be a step too far even for Jonathan, who had seemed to be on at least semi-friendly terms with Dio.

“Is there anything I can do?” Jotaro broke the silence saying.

“Just stay with me. Please,” Kakyoin said. Jotaro nodded, but his shoulders were still tense.

“And come closer already,” Kakyoin couldn’t help but smile as Jotaro visibly flushed at the suggestion. But one of his arms was soon looped around Kakyoin’s shoulders, pulling him in close.

Kakyoin hummed as he rested his head against Jotaro’s shoulder. Jotaro’s steady heartbeat was effective in grounding him further, and he soon enough found himself drifting off to some much-needed sleep.

He could get used to this.

Notes:

!SPOILERS FOR THE CHAPTER AHEAD!

Dio marks Kakyoin without his consent by biting his neck, and it causes Kakyoin to fall under his spell. Sorta like the fleshbud, but in an ABO-setting. But don't worry, Kakyoin gets better towards the end of the chapter!

Now on to write the next one!

Chapter 9

Notes:

Whoops it's been two months...Sorry about that! For some reason this chapter has been a pain in the ass to write, but now it is finally finished! I still hate the way it turned out, but at least I can move onto the next one now whooo

Chapter Text

It didn’t take many minutes for Kakyoin to fall back asleep again. His breathing growing heavy, the occasional snore escaping his lips as he rested his head against Jotaro’s shoulder in what looked like a very uncomfortable angle. He would definitely be hurting later if he stayed like that for much longer.

Jotaro gently lowered him back down into a lying position, being careful not to accidentally wake him up. Kakyoin stirred slightly, but only let out an incomprehensible mumble before burying his face in the nearest pillow. He at least didn’t seem to be having any nightmares, which was always a good sign. Jotaro couldn’t help but feel powerless. There was really nothing more that he could do but hope that Kakyoin would start feeling better soon. Because he never wanted to see him in the state he had been in in that corridor ever again in his life.

Raised voices could be heard from the kitchen. It seemed like Jonathan and Joseph had gotten into an argument about something. Kakyoin twisted and stirred, his brows furrowing at the noisy surroundings. Jotaro quickly got up to go tell the others to shut up before he could fully wake up.

Joseph was interrupted mid-rant as Jotaro without any further warning stepped into the kitchen. Both he and Jonathan turned to face him. Jonathan opened his mouth as if to say something, but Jotaro was faster.

“Keep it down,” he hissed at them. “He’s finally asleep again.” They both nodded in acknowledgment, but they were both still clearly frustrated with each other.

“We’re trying to figure out what the hell we’re gonna do about Dio,” Joseph said in a hushed tone. “I suggested that we go look for him and beat him the fuck up right now.” Joseph pushed his fist against the palm of his hand repeatedly to emphasize his point.

“I want to beat him up just as bad as you, but we can’t just rush into things,” Jonathan responded, pinching the bridge of his nose in annoyance. “Don’t forget that he comes from a family of lawyers who aren’t exactly strangers to cheating the system.”

But Joseph just waved him off. “That’s what ski masks are for.” At Jonathan’s dark expression he quickly continued. “I’m kidding! I promise I won’t try to murder Dio without your enthusiastic consent.”

“Good, then we all agree,” Jonathan said, his shoulders visibly relaxing. “Nothing happens before Kakyoin is back to normal.” He narrowed his eyes at Joseph to emphasize his point, who just rolled his eyes at him.

“We’ll take care of him later. For now, Kakyoin’s wellbeing is our priority,” Jotaro said, turning both his brothers’ attention back to him. Joseph gave him a last nod in agreement before leaving for the stairs, muttering something about needing an aspirin.

The room fell into an uncomfortable silence. Jotaro couldn’t help but feel angry at Jonathan. Because he had always had that strange friendship with Dio, even after everything he had done to their family. He’d always refused to see what an absolute piece of shit Dio was, and this was where it had gotten them.

“I’m sorry this happened,” Jonathan was the first to break the silence.

“I’m not the one you should be telling that,” Jotaro replied, a little sharper than what was probably necessary.

“I know. But I do owe you all an apology as well. You’ve been telling me that Dio is a bad person from the very beginning, and I’ve always been hesitant to believe it. Because I always want to see the good in people, and because I had some selfish need to see if I could make him change, somehow,” Jonathan let out a deep sigh, a frown on his face. “I can’t see that’s not possible anymore. Not after something like this,” He gave Jotaro, who was still avoiding his gaze, a small, joyless smile.

“Good,” Jotaro said with a small nod. He didn’t really feel the need to elaborate any further, but his anger had deflated at least a little bit. He simply gave Jonathan a curt nod, before walking back to the living room. Making sure that Kakyoin was alright was his number one priority right now.

Kakyoin was still fast asleep on the couch, his legs as well as half his torso sprawled out over the edge. It looked like he would fall onto the floor at any second now. Jotaro quickly scooped him up into his arms, blankets and all, before that could happen. He needed to move him somewhere more comfortable, somewhere safer. And he knew that his room would be the best spot for now. Jotaro made sure to walk as carefully as possible, as not to accidentally wake him up.

He laid Kakyoin back down onto his own bed before fluffing up all the pillows around him to build him a little nest. Kakyoin mumbled something incomprehensible, slithering in under the blankets until a few strands of his hair was the only thing sticking out of it.

That should be enough for now. Or at least Jotaro hoped that it would be. But what was he supposed to do next? Should he just go about with his day like nothing was wrong? Or should he try to comfort him even though he was soundly asleep?

A low whine coming from underneath the pile of blankets ended up making the decision for him. Luckily there was just enough room left on the bed for Jotaro to sit down next to him without accidentally touching him. The big lump of fabrics that was Kakyoin immediately cuddled up close to him, practically rolling up into his lap. So much for trying to keep a respectful distance.

Jotaro settled for stroking the top of his head in an attempt to comfort him. A loud snore told him that Kakyoin had properly fallen asleep again. With half his body in Jotaro’s lap, and with one arm looped around his waist. Jotaro tried his hardest to ignore the butterflies that had appeared in his stomach. It was bittersweet in a way. Having Kakyoin so close to him almost felt like a dream, but the mark still adorning Kakyoin’s neck served as a grim reminder of what had happened a mere couple of hours earlier.

Kakyoin’s whole scent still felt off. Unnatural, like it wasn’t quite his own. And Jotaro absolutely hated that. He wanted nothing more than to lay down beside him and replace the stench of Dio with his own scent. His inner alpha was practically screaming at him to stop being a coward for once and to do something about it already.

He hesitantly looped his arms around Kakyoin’s form before leaning back against the headrest. He wouldn’t be able to move anytime soon unless he wanted to wake up Kakyoin, so he might as well get some rest as well. He didn’t like admitting it, but today had definitely taken a toll on him too.

Kakyoin’s calm, steady breathing was slowly but surely beginning to lull him to sleep. Jotaro could feel his heartbeat, strong and finally peaceful again. His hair felt soft against Jotaro’s cheeks as he cradled Kakyoin tighter against his chest. It tickled as Kakyoin’s breath ghosted over his neck, but Jotaro was too sleepy and comfortable to even care. His eyes fell shut as he attempted to hide his small smile as he pressed a small kiss against Kakyoin’s forehead.

******

Jotaro was suddenly startled awake. He blinked as he tried to get used to the brightness of the rays of the now setting sun that was lighting up the whole room. Something was wrong. The spot where Kakyoin had been laying was now empty, the blankets left behind in a messy pile. Jotaro shot up, mind still groggy from taking a too-long nap. Where was he? What had happened? Was he okay? Why had he allowed himself to fall asleep in the first place, he should have known that something bad would happen?

“Jotaro?”

Jotaro spun around as a familiar voice called out his name. Kakyoin was standing in the doorway, his phone in his hand. His hair was an absolute mess, and he looked tired, but he didn’t seem to be harmed in any way

“Sorry, I just had to call my parents and tell them that I’m staying here for the night. Convincing my dad to let me took longer than I expected,” he sat down on the bed again, shooting Jotaro a small, tired smile.

“Oh,” was all Jotaro said, mentally slapping himself. Of course Kakyoin would be fine. It wasn’t like he would have just disappeared into thin air. And if by some chance Dio would have come for him at least one of the three other people in the house would surely have noticed something. Jotaro’s heartbeat slowly calmed down to its normal speed again. He quickly moved to sit down next to Kakyoin, wanting to feel his body heat to verify that he really was there, and that he was indeed alright.

“So what happens next?” Kakyoin asked. Jotaro looked up to meet his gaze.

“We just wait for you to get better and then we go take care of... him , I guess,” Jotaro’s mood immediately soured as he thought about Dio. That asshole was just probably at home by now, just being the smug piece of shit he always was.

Jotaro didn’t notice that he had clenched up his fist until Kakyoin’s hand gently covered it with his own, lacing their fingers together. “That seems reasonable. I’m in as long as I get the first punch,” Kakyoin shot him a sly smirk. Jotaro couldn’t help but let out a small huff of laughter in response.

Kakyoin would be alright. He was a lot stronger than most people gave him credit for, after all.

******

Jotaro wasn’t sure if the drive over to Kakyoin’s house had been more nerve-wracking for him or for Kakyoin. Jotaro’s hands were nervously drumming against the wheel, while Kakyoin was fiddling with his own in his lap. They compromised by letting their hands once again intertwine over the center console. Kakyoin’s touch had some magical way of always calming him down, and Jotaro hoped that the feeling was reciprocated.

“If I don’t write you back in two hours, assume that my parents have killed me,” was the last thing Kakyoin said before stepping out the car, giving Jotaro a final small wave before stepping in through the front door to his house.

And it did take nearly two hours before he finally texted him back. Two hours of Jotaro pacing back and forth in his room, glaring at his phone as if that would somehow make Kakyoin text him faster. When the first ‘ping’ finally came through Jotaro practically threw himself over his phone, before flopping down onto the bed.

‘Guess who’s still alive and kicking! :P’

‘You?’

‘You got that right!’

Jotaro hesitated for a moment before tapping out his next message.

‘So what happened?’

‘They both completely freaked out. I had to stop my dad from calling the cops at least five times. Mom was mostly just crying which was even worse somehow. But they calmed down after a bit. I think they’re planning on sending you flowers or some shit to thank you for the help ;)’

Jotaro let out a sigh of relief. He had been afraid that Kakyoin would have been in big trouble after attempting to hide the bonding from his parents. Luckily they didn’t seem keen on attempting to honor any old traditions that would have included them basically handing over Kakyoin to Dio voluntarily. Living in the 21st century really was a blessing.

‘I’m glad. Are you doing okay? Do you need anything?’

Kakyoin didn’t respond immediately, and Jotaro found himself getting worried again. But soon enough a picture was sent through. Jotaro’s heart skipped a beat. It was a selfie, where half his face was buried in Jotaro’s scarf as he winked cheekily at the camera.

‘I’ve got everything I need right here ;)’

Jotaro was momentarily glad that Kakyoin wasn’t there in person, as he would have died of embarrassment if he were to see the dark blush that had appeared all across his cheeks.

'Good.’

Jotaro hesitated for a moment. He wanted to say something more, but he didn’t want to come off as creepy or too pushy. He settled for quickly tapping out his next response before he could overthink it further.

‘You look cute.’

It didn’t take more than a few seconds for Kakyoin’s reply to come through, but those few seconds were still the longest of Jotaro’s life.

‘Thanks :P <3’

A heart . Did that mean that he understood what Jotaro was trying to say? Or was that something Kakyoin sent to all his friends? Maybe Jotaro was just reading too much into all of this. He didn’t have any prior relationship experience, he didn’t know if-

Jotaro was brought back to reality as his phone vibrated.

‘I won’t be back in school until I’m back to normal tho so you’ll have to survive without me. Send me pics of all our homework pls?’

'Of course. You just stay home and focus on catching all those pokemon in the meanwhile.’

‘djhgjdkgbjdg will do!’

Jotaro had absolutely no idea what ‘djhgjdkgbjdg’ meant, but he chose not to dwell on it for too long.

********

They kept texting from early morning to late evening during the following few days. Kakyoin sent him lots of pictures of everything he was doing, as well as many of himself. Jotaro couldn’t quite keep back the smile that formed whenever he opened yet another photo of Kakyoin smiling brightly or doing some silly, over-the-top pose.

The unusual combination of him smiling and tapping away on his phone got him many strange looks in class. The teacher was clearly annoyed with him, but Jotaro just ignored it as he always did. It wasn’t like they were going to actually try and do anything about it anyways.

Jotaro made sure to keep up with his end of the bargain and sent Kakyoin pictures of all their homework and whatever vital information he had missed during their lectures. Sometimes Kakyoin would send him pictures of crying cats until Jotaro finally gave in and sent him some of the answers as well. But he would be rewarded with yet another selfie, so he thought it was a fair trade.

Going to school without Kakyoin was an absolute pain in the ass. Jotaro had no idea how he managed to do it before he met him a mere few months earlier. But it was especially bad now that Polnareff refused to stop making innuendos and wiggling his non-existent eyebrows at him every time Kakyoin’s name was mentioned. And Avdol, who was almost as big of an asshole as Polnareff, would just encourage him and give Jotaro no support whatsoever.

Jotaro let out a sigh of relief as he closed the front door behind himself. At home he could at least be left alone, if he was lucky. He stilled momentarily to listen for any signs of movement, but it was completely silent. The others must still be away at school. Which should give him at least a few hours of time to be by himself and practice his new favorite afternoon activity. Which was hugging his pillow and pretending that it was Kakyoin.

But of course his very important plans had to be interrupted as well. Jotaro had barely finished fixing up a snack before he heard a knock on the door. He let out an audible groan, but went to open it nonetheless.

He wasn’t sure who he had thought it would be, but he was happily surprised to see that it was Kakyoin standing on his doorstep, with a wide smile on his face, hands crossed behind his back. His eyes were practically glowing, no signs of Dio’s control over him anywhere to be found.

“Hey, is everything okay?” Jotaro asked. Kakyoin’s smile widened considerably.

“It sure is,” Kakyoin moved the scarf aside so that Jotaro could see the faint scars from the bitemark still covering his neck. They had gotten a lot better since the last time he had seen them. Jotaro let out a small breath of relief.

“It will probably never fully fade, but it’ll hopefully get covered up with a proper mark sooner or later anyway,” Kakyoin said, bringing Jotaro’s attention back up to his face.

“Y-yeah,” Jotaro hated how he stuttered over the word, but he quickly recovered. “You want to come inside for a bit? I’m home alone.”

Smooth.

Kakyoin just shook his head with a small laugh. “I can’t. If I’m not back in fifteen my mom might just end up grounding me for the rest of the year. I just came over here because I wanted to tell you something.” Kakyoin said as he looked up at Jotaro from underneath his eyelashes.

“Oh?” was all Jotaro managed to get out. Had Kakyoin stepped in even closer or was it just his imagination playing tricks?

“Thank you for taking care of me,” Kakyoin said as he took a step forward. “I don’t even want to think about what could have happened if you hadn’t been there.” Kakyoin failed, to suppress a shudder. Jotaro wanted to reach out and comfort him, but he stood frozen in his spot as Kakyoin took yet another small step forward.

“I’d do it again in a heartbeat. I’m just glad that you’re alright,” Jotaro swallowed thickly. Kakyoin was now close enough for him to distinguish the bright blue speckles in his otherwise violet eyes. The smile that was still on his lips made them practically sparkle.

One of Jotaro’s hands moved to rest on Kakyoin’s waist out of pure instinct, his knuckles turning white at how tightly he was gripping the fabric of his coat. Jotaro felt as if he should break their eye contact, but it was impossible to look away now. Not when Kakyoin leaned in closer, before letting his eyes fall shut.

Jotaro mimicked his movement. He could feel the warmth of Kakyoin’s breath against his. Jotaro stood frozen in place, not daring to take the final step. But he didn’t have to, as Kakyoin grabbed onto the front of Jotaro’s shirt, pulling him forward the last few centimeters until their lips finally met.

Kakyoin’s lips were incredibly soft and slightly cold from the cool weather as they slowly moved against his own. It was a bit awkward, and it was clear that neither of them had any experience in the kissing department, but Jotaro wouldn’t want it any other way. Because he had been dreaming about this moment for weeks. But his imagination had come nowhere even close to what it really felt like to feel Kakyoin’s lips against his own.

Jotaro wasn’t sure when his arms had looped around Kakyoin's waist to bring him flush against his body. All of his senses where overwhelmed. Kakyoin’s lips, his scent, the feeling if his body against his own, it was all too much to take in. Jotaro found himself hoping that this moment would never end.

It was Kakyoin who first broke the kiss, leaning back to take in some much-needed air. Both his cheeks and lips very redder than usual, and Jotaro loved how uncharacteristically disheveled he looked. He gave Jotaro a bright smile, but he didn’t step back and instead allowed himself to be held tightly against Jotaro’s chest.

“That was nice,” Jotaro mumbled, leaning in to rest his forehead against Kakyoin’s. Kakyoin just chuckled, stroking his thumb across Jotaro’s cheekbone.

“It was.”

They stayed in that position for a while, just enjoying each other’s warmth and presence. Jotaro wanted nothing more than to bring Kakyoin inside, to snuggle up with him under a blanket and keep kissing him for the rest of the night. Because from now on he would finally be able to hold him as close as he wanted, to kiss him as much as he wanted, like he had wished for so long.

“I have to get going now. I’ll see you in school tomorrow, Jotaro,” Kakyoin said. But he didn’t move from his spot, instead only tightening his grip on Jotaro’s shirt.

“Want something before you leave?” Jotaro couldn’t quite hold back the small smirk that formed as Kakyoin just stuck his tongue out at him childishly.

“Just shut up and kiss me, Jojo.”

And so Jotaro did, letting out a small chuckle before leaning in to make their lips meet in a second kiss.

Chapter Text

Kakyoin had never had a problem focusing in class. Until now, that was.

He chewed impatiently at the top of his pencil while his leg bounced restlessly underneath his desk. Just five minutes left until lunch break. Five minutes until he could finally see Jotaro again. Kakyoin hadn’t in a million years thought that he would end up being so clingy when he got into his first relationship, but yet here he was, counting down the seconds as if he hadn’t seen Jotaro for a year rather than an hour. But based on his research it seemed to be a common reaction whenever an omega got into a new relationship. And the excessive neediness should hopefully pass within another week or two.

He could feel several annoyed gazes directed towards him. Kakyoin knew that he should at least try to hide his impatience in an attempt to be polite, but today he couldn’t find it in himself to really care. Since he had been forced to witness dozens of other omegas giggle like little girls whenever they developed a new crush during the few months he had been at this school, now they would just have to deal with his own restlessness. Because now it was his turn to just sit there, staring off into space like a love-struck fool.

As soon as the bell rang, Kakyoin was the first one out the door. He hurried towards the rooftops, which had quickly turned into his and Jotaro’s own little lunch-spot. More and more people filled out into the hallway, but Kakyoin just elbowed his way through. He received several irritated glares and angry mutters, but he just ignored it. Because the only thing on his mind right now was Jotaro. That was how things had been since they had their first kiss just a few days prior. If getting Jotaro out of his mind had been difficult before, now it was practically impossible.

Kakyoin was panting by the time he arrived at the rooftop. The door had been left slightly ajar, allowing Kakyoin to slip outside without any issues. Jotaro was already there, which wasn’t very unusual since he would often leave early just so that he could slip away unnoticed. He was seated on the ground, arms crossed over his chest as he leaned up against the wall behind him. His hat was angled down in an attempt to block out the bright rays of sunlight that were poking through the clouds.

Kakyoin carefully sneaked in closer. Jotaro hadn’t noticed him yet, and his chest was rising with every long, deep breath that he took. Had he fallen asleep while waiting for him? A playful smile lit up Kakyoin’s face. It wasn’t very often he caught Jotaro off guard and got to see him so relaxed and carefree.

He came to a halt when he was standing right next to him, bending down until he was mere centimeters away from Jotaro’s ear.

“Hi there, hot stuff.”

Jotaro immediately startled awake, bumping his head against the wall in his hurry to turn around and identify whoever it was that had sneaked up on him. He let out a hiss in pain, one hand moving up to rub at the bump that would without a doubt form at the back of his head.

Kakyoin tried his hardest to bite back a laugh. “Sorry, I didn’t think you’d be so easily spooked, since you’re always so-” Kakyoin let out a loud yelp as Jotaro grabbed a hold of his wrist, pulling him down into his lap without any additional warnings. Strong arms were immediately wrapped around him, effectively trapping him against Jotaro’s chest.

“For that you’ll have to be punished,” Jotaro said, his voice serious as ever. But Kakyoin could feel the small smile that was pressed into his hair.

“Oh? What’s my punishment then?” Kakyoin asked as he tried to squirm his way out of Jotaro’s arms. Jotaro didn’t respond, but did loosen his grip so that Kakyoin could sit back up properly, their faces now mere centimeters apart. Jotaro moved to tuck a loose strand of hair behind Kakyoin’s ear, playing with his earring for a bit before withdrawing his hand again.

“I think a bit of kissing ought to do the job,” Jotaro responded. Kakyoin rolled his eyes, but a smile was still playing at his lips. He looped both his arms around Jotaro’s neck and readjusted himself until he was properly straddling Jotaro’s lap.

“That doesn’t sound like much of a punishment to me,” Kakyoin replied with a wide grin.

“Hm, that’s true,” Jotaro said. “Maybe I should be withholding kisses from you instead?”

Jotaro had barely finished his sentence before Kakyoin closed the distance between them, kissing him hungrily. Jotaro just let out a small chuckle before kissing him back. His hands moved to grab at Kakyoin’s hips, pulling him even closer. Kakyoin let out a hum in appreciation, biting down gently onto Jotaro’s bottom lip as he arched against Jotaro’s body. He had grown practically addicted to Jotaro’s touch over the last week, and having to stay away from him for just a few hours during school felt like his own personal hell. And so making out on the rooftop during lunch had become part of their new daily routine.

Jotaro was the first to break the kiss, leaning their foreheads together while he caught his breath. Kakyoin slowly opened his eyes again. Jotaro’s cheeks were slightly red, and Kakyoin loved how they always revealed Jotaro’s true feelings. The man could be so stoic sometimes, and it was always nice knowing that he wasn’t completely unaffected when Kakyoin was around him.

“Not that I don’t love kissing you, but I’m starving, so maybe we should try and actually eat something for once.” Kakyoin let out a hum in agreement, but didn’t move from his spot in Jotaro’s lap. He considered telling Jotaro that there were other things he could be eating instead, but opted not to, as he didn’t want to end up being late for his next class.

Their lips met in another feverish kiss, Kakyoin’s hair weaving into Jotaro’s hair, accidentally knocking his hat off in the process. Kakyoin took the opportunity to gently work his fingers through Jotaro’s silky-smooth hair. It was rare for Jotaro to take off his hat, even outside of school, so Kakyoin took every opportunity he could to caress it.

As his stomach grumbled loudly, Kakyoin reluctantly gave in and sat back down on the ground beside him, close enough so that their shoulders were still touching. Jotaro quickly unpacked his lunch, tearing a piece of bread in half and handing the larger piece to Kakyoin.

“Another one of Josuke’s experiments?” Kakyoin asked, smelling it suspiciously. He scrunched his nose up in distaste. He didn’t think it was normal for bread to smell that sickeningly sweet and sugary.

“Yup. He’s getting better though,” Jotaro replied.

But in the end they ended up having to feed the bread to some nearby birds, as neither of them had the heart to just throw it away. During the remainder of their lunchbreak they competed about who could get more birds to eat right out of their hands. Jotaro’s patience paid off, and he ended up winning over a very disgruntled Kakyoin. By the time the bell rang they had barely even touched their actual lunches, and quickly had to pack up and hurry back down from the roof, hand in hand.

For once, nobody tried bothering them. They had learned the hard way that there was no point in even trying to do so anymore. Although Kakyoin could still see some of the glares directed their way.

They eventually came to a stop outside of Jotaro’s classroom. He turned to fully face Kakyoin, stepping in a bit closer.

“I’ll see you after class,” Kakyoin said as he looked up at Jotaro expectantly. Jotaro just mumbled something unintelligible in response, before leaning down to give Kakyoin a quick peck on the lips. He quickly straightened back up and adjusted his hat so it was covering his eyes. Although Jotaro had quickly gotten used to the hand-holding, he was still visibly hesitant about kissing in public. Kakyoin gave him a reassuring smile before giving his hand one final squeeze. Jotaro tightened his grip before Kakyoin could fully let go.

“Be careful,” he said low enough so that only Kakyoin would be able to hear him, caressing his thumb over Kakyoin’s knuckles. He knew that Jotaro didn’t like it when they had separate classes, especially not when he knew that Dio would be in the same room as Kakyoin.

“I will be, don’t worry,” Kakyoin said. Jotaro just nodded, reluctantly releasing his grip on Kakyoin’s hand. He still looked hesitant, but he didn’t press the issue any further.

“I’ll see you soon, and don’t have too much fun without me,” Kakyoin said with a wink before he turned to walk towards his own classroom.

*********

Kakyoin would never have thought that Caesar of all people could be such an annoying asshole. As soon as Kakyoin had taken his usual seat in the art classroom, he had moved in his chair so close that he was basically sitting in Kakyoin’s lap as he begged for him to spill all the details of his new relationship. Kakyoin did his best to answer the majority of them, which was easier said than done since Caesar had a habit of asking at least three different questions in a single breath.

But Kakyoin still welcomed the distraction that he gave. He hadn’t looked over to the other side of the room during the whole lesson, not even wanting to acknowledge Dio’s existence. He could however still hear him, boasting loudly to anyone that would listen about how he had gotten a full score on all his exams the week before. Every now and then his voice would drop an octave and an unpleasant shiver would run up Kakyoin’s spine at the memory of him whispering straight into his ear before pressing his lips up against the side of his neck.

Every now and then he could feel Dio’s eyes looking right at him, but Kakyoin never paid him any attention. Instead Caesar would glare back until Dio reluctantly turned back to whatever conversation he was having. Kakyoin didn’t miss how Caesar scooted a little bit closer to him as soon as Dio looked away again. He guessed that Joseph had probably told him to keep an eye on Dio for him. Kakyoin wasn’t sure if he was more thankful or humiliated about having his own handful of personal bodyguards littered around the whole school.

“But Jotaro must be a pretty bad kisser, right? He’s got that vibe,” Caesar asked, leaning his chin against the palm of his hand as he studied Kakyoin closely. Kakyoin just shrugged.

“He tries his best,” after Caesar let out a loud snort he quickly continued. “He’s gotten better, practice makes perfect and all that jazz,” he did his best to ignore the loud gagging noise that Rohan made at his words.

While Kakyoin hadn’t gotten much work done during class, he had at least learned a string of new Italian swear words, courtesy of Caesar’s and Rohan’s screaming match. And with all attention turned away from him, he could finally space off and think about Jotaro again.

*******

Kakyoin had barely closed the front door behind himself after getting back home from school before his dad was right in front of him, watching over him like a hawk. Kakyoin suppressed an irritated sigh. Ever since they had found out what happened with Dio, they had been even more overprotective than usual.

“Noriaki, how was school today?” he asked, back straight as he watched Kakyoin’s every move, like he was going to break from just taking his shoes off.

“It was fine. Just a normal day,” Kakyoin answered curtly, making his way towards his bedroom.

“Nobody gave you any trouble?” his dad was hard on his heels, clearly not letting him escape back to the safety of his own room.

“Nope.”

“Are you sure? I could give the headmaster a call if that would-”

Kakyoin spun around so quickly that they almost crashed into one another, his dad quickly taking a step back.

“Don’t. It would only make things worse.”

“You don’t know that. She might be able to help you.”

Kakyoin gritted his teeth together. “I don’t need help, I’ll handle it on my own.”

His dad’s brows furrowed at that. Kakyoin knew that a scolding was inevitable if he didn’t choose his next words very carefully.

“What do you mean you’re gonna ‘handle it on your own’? You’re not planning on going after him yourself, are you? You should let those who are more capable take care of it instead.”

Kakyoin’s blood felt like it was boiling. He had been treated like he was made out of glass for the entire last week, and he refused to take it even a second longer.

“Someone more capable? Just because I’m an omega, and just because that piece of shit marked me, it doesn’t mean that I can’t take care of myself. Just because something bad happened to me it doesn’t mean that I am fucking weak,” Kakyoin breathed heavily by the end of his little rant.

Before his dad could respond, he quickly turned on his heel, marching the last few steps to his room and banging the door shut behind himself.

He knew that he was overreacting. He knew that his parents were only worried because they wanted him to be safe. And he knew that they felt guilty about not being able to protect him from Dio the week prior. But there was nothing Kakyoin hated more than being called weak.

He sank down onto his bed with a deep sigh, covering his face with both hands. Maybe he was actually in the wrong, maybe he was weak after all. Because realistically he knew that he couldn’t do shit against somebody like Dio in a fight. Or in any other situation for that matter. But he still needed to find a way to get back at him somehow. He knew that Jotaro and Joseph, and perhaps even Jonathan, would help him. But he didn’t want them to have to fight his own fights for him. He didn’t want to be put on the sidelines any longer. Having been seen by all of them in that state had been humiliating enough, and Kakyoin knew that he had to be strong enough to stand as their equal.

He was brought back from his thoughts when his phone vibrated in his pocket. It was a text from Jotaro. Kakyoin couldn’t help but smile. Jotaro usually didn’t take the initiative to start texting, so whenever he did Kakyoin couldn’t help but get excited.

Hey, wanna come over in a bit?

Kakyoin smiled, his mood immediately having turned for the better, and flipped around onto his stomach before he typed out his reply.

Sure! I can be over in 20 if that’s okay?

Yeah. See you then

Kakyoin hesitated for a moment before slipping out of his room. He knew that his parents wouldn’t like him sneaking out at this hour, but what they didn’t know couldn’t hurt them, right? He just had to get back in one piece later that evening, and everything would be alright.

**********

Kakyoin knocked on the door to the Joestar household almost exactly 20 minutes later. He could hear footsteps from inside the house, and Jonathan soon enough opened the door with a wide smile on his face.

“Kakyoin, Jotaro told me you were going to be coming by. Please come in,” he said and stepped aside, letting Kakyoin slip inside before closing the door behind him.

“Thank you,” Kakyoin said with an awkward smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. He hadn’t seen Jonathan since last week, and couldn’t help feeling embarrassed about it. But Jonathan must have noticed, because he didn’t mention it and only led Kakyoin into the living room after alerting Jotaro that he had arrived.

Kakyoin stopped dead in his tracks in the doorway. Apart from a few spare pieces of furniture, everything in the room had been packed down into moving boxes. No more pictures covering the walls, no old elementary school art projects on the window sills, no nothing.

“What is going on?” Kakyoin asked carefully. His voice sounded loud and foreign in the now echoey room. Jonathan just gave a small sigh, before sitting down at the edge of the one armchair that was standing in the middle of the room.

“We’ve been discussing moving for several months already, and now just feels like the right time. This place is just too big for us, and there are too many sad memories,” Jonathan’s eyes looked glassy, as if he was recalling one of those memories at that very moment.

Kakyoin couldn’t help but feel guilty. Even though Jonathan hadn’t mentioned anything about it, he still had a feeling that his Dio-related drama from the week before had influenced their decision to move at least somewhat. If he hadn’t fucked up and allowed for those things to happen, they wouldn’t have to move out of their childhood home.

Kakyoin wanted to say something to him, but he wasn’t sure where to begin. So he just stayed quiet, letting the uncomfortable silence fill the room until he could hear footsteps coming down the stairs a moment later. Kakyoin turned to watch as Jotaro ducked into the room, shooting him a hesitant smile. Jonathan quickly got back up, making up some half-hearted excuse as to why he had to leave, patting Jotaro on the shoulder encouragingly before leaving.

“Let’s go outside and talk,” Jotaro said, nodding towards the door to the porch. Kakyoin let him lead the way as they pushed past the clutter of moving boxes.

Jotaro sat down on the steps to the porch, waiting for Kakyoin to sit down beside him. He immediately linked their hands together, looking down at them, seemingly lost in thought as he ran his thumb in circles across the back of Kakyoin’s hand. Kakyoin wasn’t sure if he should break the silence or not. He knew that Jotaro had a hard time with words, and could use the encouragement, but at the same time he didn’t want to seem like he was pushing him to say something. And what could he even say in the first place?

“Last time we were sitting here you were drunk off your ass,” Jotaro eventually said. He smiled gently as Kakyoin huffed in faked-annoyance at him.

“I wasn’t drunk. I was just the tiniest bit tipsy,” Kakyoin responded.

“Really?” Jotaro looked amused. Kakyoin nodded.

“Yup. I could totally have just walked straight home right then and there, but I decided to be nice and stay behind and keep you company.”

Jotaro just hummed at him, looking down at their linked hands. “You’re really cute when you’re drunk.”

Kakyoin felt his cheeks heat up at the sudden confession. “Shut up, I am not.” Jotaro just shot him a small smile before looking out towards the garden. His usual frown slowly crept back onto his face, all the playfulness from their earlier conversation gone.

“I’m sorry you got pulled into our drama with Dio,” Jotaro said after a moment of silence.

Kakyoin was confused. What was Jotaro apologizing to him for? If anything, he should be the one apologizing. It was mainly his fault that Jotaro and his brothers would be forced to move away after all.

“You have nothing to apologize for. It’s my fault that this whole Dio situation escalated after all,” Kakyoin said. Jotaro turned back around to get a proper look at him.

“No, it wasn’t. Dio only went after you because he thought there was something going on between us.”

“But nothing would have happened if I hadn’t been too weak to fight back,” Kakyoin snapped. He turned away from Jotaro, playing with the hem of his shirt anxiously while he pretended that he couldn’t see the way Jotaro was looking at him.

“Noriaki,” Jotaro started in an attempt to get his attention. But Kakyoin stubbornly kept his eyes fixed downwards. Jotaro moved to cup his cheek, tilting his head until he could properly see his face again.

“You’re not weak. Far from it, in fact,” Jotaro tried to reason with him, but Kakyoin just shook his head.

“If I really was strong I could have done something-”

“It wasn’t your fault. He caught you off guard, there wasn’t anything anyone would have been able to do.”

Kakyoin knew that Jotaro was technically right. Things like that weren’t exactly uncommon, even in today’s society. If it had happened to someone else, Kakyoin knew that he wouldn’t have blamed them for it. But it was different when it was he himself that had been put in that situation. It was so easy for the self-doubt to creep up to the surface, telling him that it was his fault, even though it wasn’t.

“Okay,” he eventually said with a nod, finally meeting Jotaro’s gaze again. He had barely made eye-contact before Jotaro’s hand had moved to the back of his neck, pulling him in for a bruising kiss. Kakyoin let out a noise of surprise, but it was swallowed up by the force of Jotaro’s lips moving against his own.

Jotaro tugged him closer, Kakyoin’s hands coming to rest at the top of his thighs to keep his balance. He tried to shift even closer, but the grip on the back of his neck kept him in place. Jotaro forced his lips apart with his tongue, deepening their kiss. It felt strangely good to be so completely under Jotaro’s mercy.

The kiss ended almost as soon as it had begun. Jotaro rested his forehead against Kakyoin’s as they both caught their breaths.

“Sorry,” Jotaro mumbled. “I lost control for a bit.”

“Don’t be, I liked it,” Kakyoin confessed, giving Jotaro a small smile. Jotaro’s eyes were dark with lust, and a pleasant shiver shot up Kakyoin’s spine. He looked like he wanted nothing more than to have his way with him right then and there. Kakyoin shook his head, trying to get rid of those mental images. “Let’s go back inside now, shall we?”

Jotaro reluctantly agreed, helping Kakyoin back onto his feet. Kakyoin opted for staying a few steps behind, willing the blush across his cheeks as well as the uncomfortable stiffness in his pants to go down before Jotaro noticed.

As they got closer to the door, Kakyoin could make out loud voices coming from inside. Jotaro frowned, extending his arm in front of Kakyoin to keep him behind him.

“What’s going on?” Kakyoin asked hesitantly, not liking how Jotaro’s body had stiffened. But instead of answering Jotaro pushed the door open, walking inside. Kakyoin hurried after him, not wanting to be left out of whatever was going on inside the house.

Shouting could be heard coming from the hallway. Kakyoin immediately recognized Joseph’s voice, speaking loudly enough to drown out several others.

“-And don’t think we’ll allow you to just barge in here when-”

“I’m not barging in , I am simply here to discuss an issue with you both.”

Kakyoin’s stomach dropped. He recognized that voice, a lot more intimately than he would have liked. But what was Dio even doing there in the first place? Jotaro seemed to have recognized his voice as well, as he mumbled a quick “wait here,” before walking off, leaving Kakyoin alone in the living room.

Dio chuckled as soon as he noticed Jotaro. “Ah, how nice of you to join us. Where are you keeping that lover-boy that you so rudely stole from me?”

“Get the fuck out,” Jotaro said, clearly not wanting a part of whatever Dio was planning.

“Try and make me and I will sue you so bad that you’ll be living on the streets,” Dio hissed. “Although that seems to be what you’re already planning. Trying to reconnect with your late mother’s heritage?”

There was a scramble, and Kakyoin could hear Dio chuckle.

“Leave it, Joseph, he’s not worth it,” Jonathan said, clearly trying to restrain a pissed off Joseph who was throwing out curses in a variety of different languages.

Kakyoin wasn’t sure of what he should do. He couldn’t stay back in the living room forever, but this wasn’t his fight either. He carefully tiptoed closer, continuing to listen in on their conversation.

“Oh the great Joestar tradition of always being a pushover and being too much of a coward to deal with anything,” Dio said, clearly wanting to provoke them further. Kakyoin carefully walked around the corner, briefly meeting Jotaro’s eye from across the room. Both he and Joseph looked ready to kill, the only thing holding them back being Jonathan’s grip on both of their arms. Dio stood at a safe distance away, head held high as usual, and with a familiar darkness in his eyes. His lips were stretched into a wide smile. He was clearly enjoying the reactions he got out of the others.

Dio seemed to have noticed the new presence in the room, as he turned his head just enough to look Kakyoin up and down. His cold smile widened as he took him in.

“Noriaki, how nice of you to join us,” he purred, turning away from the others to take a step towards him. “You always have a habit of being somewhere close by, couldn’t you stay away from me any longer than a week?”

Kakyoin wanted to respond, but his mouth was as dry as the desert. Dio took another step forward, quickly closing the distance between them. Jotaro looked like he was ready to rip away from Jonathan’s grip and jump him at any second, but Kakyoin threw him a look begging him to stay put.

“Still hiding my mark, are you? There is no shame in showing it off,” Dio’s fingers carefully danced over the collar of his shirt, shifting it to the side so he could properly see the now partially faded marks on Kakyoin’s neck. He tightened his grip, yanking Kakyoin forward until their faces were mere centimeters apart.

“Looks like it needs to be refreshed, you don’t want it to fully fade, do you?” Kakyoin glared right back into Dio’s emotionless eyes. A cold finger slowly caressed up the mark, and Kakyoin snapped.

He had never punched someone in the face before, and it hurt a lot more than he had anticipated. But the cracking sound coming from Dio’s nose along with the surprised and pained grunt he let out was satisfying enough to make it worth it. Dio looked at the blood that had dripped down onto his hands like he couldn’t believe what had just happened. Then his mood flipped like a switch from his previous cold, collected self to full-on rage. A hand shot out towards Kakyoin’s throat, but Jotaro grabbed a hold of his wrist before he could reach him.

Jotaro’s fist connected with Dio’s face several times in a row. Kakyoin could see the rage in his eyes, his fist shaking as he went in for another blow. Kakyoin quickly grabbed a hold of his arm, trying to hold him back.

“Jotaro, stop it,” Jotaro immediately went slack against him, lowering his arm back down. Dio had fallen to the floor with the power behind his punches, blood dripping from his nose and lip, the beginnings of a bruise forming across his cheek.

“Yeah, save some for me as well!”  Joseph said gleefully, back to his normal cheery self after seeing Dio get he shit beaten out of him. He patted Jotaro on the shoulder. “Take Kakyoin upstairs and put something cold on his knuckles, or they will be hurting like a bitch tomorrow. And good job, little man!” Joseph clapped Kakyoin roughly on the back, Jotaro quickly pulling him away from his older brother's too-rough displays of support and up the stairs to his room.

“Are you okay?” Jotaro asked as soon as the door closed behind them. Kakyoin let out a shaky laugh. Now that the adrenaline had left him, he had begun shaking. It felt like he had made a huge mistake, and that it would end up coming back to bite him in the ass.

“I’m fine, I think,” he responded, half his sentence getting muffled into Jotaro’s shirt as he embraced him in a tight hug. “Thank you for not letting him rip my throat out with his gross nails.”

Jotaro let out a small huff against the top of his head before releasing his grip. “Don’t mention it. How’s your hand?”

Kakyoin formed a fist experimentally, hissing as the bruised skin across his knuckles flexed at the movement. “Stings like a bitch, but it was worth it. I hope that fucks up Dio’s face for good.”

Jotaro hummed in agreement. He carefully took a hold of Kakyoin’s hand, studying it closer. “It hurts the most the first time, but it should be fine as long as we wash it and wrap it up properly.” He let go and nodded towards the bathroom door. “Go, I’ll be there in a minute.”

Kakyoin did as he was told and took a seat on top of the toilet seat. He watched as Jotaro scurried around in his room, picking up various supplies that they would be needing. He soon joined him in the bathroom, tossing him a t-shirt.

“You got some blood on that,” Jotaro nodded towards a cluster of blood droplets that had landed on the fabric of Kakyoin’s shirt during the altercation. Kakyoin suppressed a groan. That was going to be hell to get out. He quickly pulled it off without any further thought, throwing it in a messy heap on the floor before slipping Jotaro’s much larger shirt over his head. The material was soft, and its light scent of Jotaro was comforting.

When he looked back up again Jotaro was looking the other way, a blush evident on his face. Kakyoin realized a bit too late that that had been the first time Jotaro had seen him shirtless. It wasn’t as romantic as he had hoped it would be, but knowing the two of them it could have been a lot worse.

“Wrap me up, please,” Kakyoin said, reaching out his sore hand towards Jotaro, who quickly gathered his composure before getting onto his knees before him. He gently wiped his knuckles down with a wet cloth. Kakyoin bit down onto his lip. While it wasn’t as painful as he had feared, it still stung quite a bit. But Jotaro worked quickly, and had soon neatly wrapped his hand up in some bandages. He brought Kakyoin’s hand up to his lips, peppering it in small kisses.

“You’re so cheesy, you know that?”

“Shut up.”

“Make me.”

Kakyoin didn’t have to ask twice, as Jotaro immediately leaned in to capture his lips in another bruising kiss.

Maybe getting into fights wasn’t all that bad after all.

Notes:

The final chapter is finally heere!! It took a lot longer than I thought to finish this fic, but oh well, better late than never. The first chapter of this fic was the first fic I ever wrote, so I am a bit sad to see it go. But at the same time, I finally have time to start properly working on some new fics I've wanted to write forever!

I ended up having to bump up the rating to Explicit since this chapter contains some smut, so please beware of that!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Moving ended up taking a lot more time and effort than Jotaro had expected. Who would have known how much stuff the four of them had collected over the years? Not to mention all their parents’ old belongings, which none of them had the heart to throw away. So they ended up bringing it all to their new house, which they slowly but surely transformed into a home.

Kakyoin had insisted that Jotaro properly tidy up and decorate his new bedroom. Apparently it was looking way too depressing, and desperately needed to be spruced up a bit. Kakyoin had offered to help, and who was Jotaro to say no to such an offer? Especially since it meant he got to spend some more alone time with him.

“Your new room actually has the potential to be much cozier than your old one,” Kakyoin commented, poking out his tongue in concentration as he made sure that the newly hung up painting on the wall was perfectly straight. “You just need some more blankets and other soft shit, and a whole buttload of string lights. God, I wished I could live right next to the sea as well,” he finished with a sigh, looking out at the waves gently crashing in the distance.

“Guess you’ll just have to stay over here a lot then,” Jotaro said, ducking to the side as Kakyoin threw the nearest pillow at him.

“You wish,” he said with a laugh, but his eyes had a dangerous underlying twinkle to them. “I know my parents are okay with us going out and all, but I’m pretty sure that dad would kill you if I stayed here for too long. He’s still worried that you’re gonna get me into more fights,” he rolled his eyes, clearly growing tired of his father’s overprotectiveness.

“Should I go tell him that it was technically you who threw the first fist at Dio?” Jotaro asked, taking a seat at the edge of his bed. The same pillow from earlier came flying again, this time hitting him right in the face.

“Shut it,” Kakyoin said as he flopped down beside him, throwing both his legs over Jotaro’s lap. “You know that me almost fracturing my fingers on Dio’s stupid face was the hottest thing you’ve seen your whole life.”

Well, Jotaro couldn’t exactly argue with that. But to be fair, anything Kakyoin did was hot, even if he didn’t mean it to be. But when he was this close and looking up at him with those gorgeous eyes of his, he was even more so than usual.

Jotaro wrapped his arms around Kakyoin’s waist, pulling him in closer until their lips met in a gentle kiss. Kakyoin didn’t waste any time deepening the kiss, pushing against him hungrily, and Jotaro did the best he could to keep up. Kakyoin’s hands moved to grab at his biceps, his fingers digging into the muscle as he held himself close.

And of course Jotaro’s phone had to choose that exact moment to emit a loud ‘ping’. Jotaro let out an irritated sigh before breaking the kiss and leaning back enough so that he could look over the new message .

‘We’re gonna be late since Josuke wanted to check out that one new restaurant after the movie. They’re apparently serving deep-fried butter’

‘I hope you’re actually doing work around the house and not just fooling around with your loverboy ;)))’

‘There are condoms in my nightstand if you need them. The ones with green packaging glow in the dark!’

Jotaro quickly flipped over the phone, trying to keep a flush from appearing on his face. He prayed that Kakyoin hadn’t been able to read any of Joseph’s messages.

“I don’t really get the point of glow in the dark condoms. Isn’t their whole purpose to be used where you can’t even see them in the first place?” Kakyoin asked with clearly faked innocence.

Jotaro swallowed thickly. Kakyoin had moved in even closer, their bodies now fully pressed up against each other. He wanted to break eye contact with him, but it was impossible when Kakyoin was looking at him like that. His pupils were wide-blown with lust, and Jotaro recognized the light scent of his arousal in the air.
They had been dating for a couple of months by now, but had yet to do anything more than kissing and a bit of touching while they were both still fully clothed. Jotaro wanted to go further, who wouldn’t when one’s partner was as perfect as Kakyoin? But he had no idea how to bring it up.

Jotaro’s pants had begun to feel uncomfortably tight, and he quickly leaned in to kiss Kakyoin in an attempt to distract him enough for him not to notice. It seemed to work, as Kakyoin quickly deepened their kiss. His arms wrapped around Jotaro’s neck as he held him close, his fingers grabbing onto the back of his shirt.

He ended up breaking the kiss earlier than Jotaro would have liked, leaning back slightly to rest their foreheads together. “Hey Jojo,” he said, his voice unusually low. Jotaro slowly opened his eyes, watching as Kakyoin, with his eyes still closed, licked his lips before he continued. “Do you want to go further?”

“Yes.”

Jotaro had answered on pure instinct, before he even had the time to start thinking about a more eloquent answer. But Kakyoin didn’t seem put off by his abrupt response, as he instantly climbed onto his lap to straddle his thighs. Jotaro bit back a groan. In this position he could feel Kakyoin’s growing hardness press up against him, and he knew that Kakyoin could feel his as well. The sweet, heavy scent of Kakyoin’s arousal quickly grew more noticeable. If it was this strong with them still fully dressed, he couldn’t even imagine what it would be like once they were both fully naked.

Jotaro’s hands migrated over to rest at Kakyoin’s hips, unconsciously pulling him closer. He was still too far away for his liking, Jotaro desperately wanting to grind up against him to relieve some of the tension building up inside him. His grip tightened, fingers kneading against Kakyoin’s still clothed ass. Those clothes needed to be gone, and fast.

He reached up to begin unbuttoning Kakyoin’s shirt with fumbling hands. Kakyoin let out an actual whine at the loss of contact, but he quickly got the hint and began to unfasten Jotaro’s belt. He hummed in appreciation as his hand, whether on accident or not, brushed against the bulge in Jotaro’s pants.

“Someone is excited already,” He teased, looking at Jotaro through half-lidded eyes, a barely noticeable smirk on his lips. Jotaro couldn’t wait to wipe that cocky look off of his face.

“Shut up,” Jotaro said with no real heat behind it. He slipped a hand in under Kakyoin’s shirt, pinching one of his nipples roughly causing him to let out a loud yelp.

“Oh, you wanna play like that?” Kakyoin looped both arms around Jotaro’s neck to keep himself steady before rolling his hips down against Jotaro’s. Jotaro let out a low hiss at the added friction, his grip on Kakyoin’s shirt tightening.

“Touch me,” Kakyoin ordered with another roll of his hips. “Please.”

Jotaro made quick work at unbuttoning the last few buttons on his shirt before slipping his hands in under the material. He let his finger slowly trace up his sides. Kakyoin’s skin was so soft to the touch, making Jotaro want to pull him in closer so he could feel it against his own. He slowly let his fingers travel across the light abs on his stomach, tracing over the dips and curves of his body. He looked absolutely perfect, just as Jotaro knew he would. A perfect mixture of soft skin and defined muscles.

His hands slowly moved downwards until he reached the front of Kakyoin’s pants. He paused, fingers hovering above the button to look up at Kakyoin for permission. A quick nod was all he needed to quickly work it open and pull down the zipper, letting his pants fall from around his hips. Jotaro’s hands immediately migrated to his thighs, squeezing and grabbing at the soft skin. But he was still careful to make sure that his hands didn’t stray too close to Kakyoin’s obvious arousal.

“Mmm, feels good,” Kakyoin mumbled as he impatiently began to tug on Jotaro’s shirt. “But now it’s your turn to strip.” To Jotaro’s frustration, he moved off his lap to instead lay back against the bed. He looked up at Jotaro expectantly, clearly waiting for him to start undressing. But Jotaro was busy scanning over Kakyoin’s body, laid out over the bed with his clothes rumpled and half-way undone was an incredible sight.

Excited to join him on the bed, Jotaro practically ripped his shirt off, silently thanking Kakyoin for already having unfastened his belt earlier. Kakyoin’s eyes went dark as he hungrily watched Jotaro expose more and more skin. He however didn’t get a long show, as Jotaro was on top of him as soon as he had stripped his pants off. Their lips met in another feverish kiss, more passionate than any they had had so far in their relationship.

Jotaro made quick work at discarding the rest of Kakyoin’s clothes, leaving the both of them in nothing but their underwear. They stilled, both taking in the others’ form in its entirety. Jotaro could both see and smell that Kakyoin was already heavily aroused, the scent of his slick now sweet and heavy in the air.

“Fuck, Jotaro,” Kakyoin hooked one of his legs over Jotaro’s hip, pulling him down against his body. “I want you.”

Jotaro swallowed thickly. Kakyoin was looking at him with such heat, and he could slowly feel his self-control begin to slip. He wanted nothing more than to pin Kakyoin down and absolutely ravage him. To bite and mark him everywhere he could, once and for all showing everyone that Kakyoin was his and his only.

He grabbed a hold of Kakyoin’s wrists, pinning them above his head with one hand as he leaned in to kiss him again. He allowed his free hand to slowly stroke down Kakyoin’s chest as he bit down onto his bottom lip harshly. Kakyoin moaned against his lips, the sound sending a pleasant shiver down Jotaro’s spine. He could tell that he was growing impatient, and Jotaro pulled back once again, causing Kakyoin to emit a moan out of frustration rather than out of pleasure.

“Are you sure?” Jotaro asked, searching for any sign of hesitation in Kakyoin’s eyes.

“Yes,” Kakyoin said, without missing a beat. He looped his arms around Jotaro’s neck again, attempting to pull him back down. “Now let’s go, I’m so hard it is almost painful,” he gave Jotaro his very best puppy eyes, which worked like magic in every situation, his fingers desperately digging into Jotaro’s skin.

“Soon,” Jotaro said, forcing his own urges down momentarily. “First we gotta talk about how we want to do things.”

Kakyoin groaned, letting go of Jotaro and flopping down onto the sheets. He threw one arm over his eyes, while his other hand traveled lower and lower, until he was palming himself through his boxers. Jotaro’s hand flew to his wrist, pulling it away as if he’d gotten burnt.

“Don’t. You’re going to make me lose control,” he said, turning away so he didn’t have to face the disappointment and desperation in Kakyoin’s eyes.

“What if I want you to?” Kakyoin sat up, moving over until he was sitting right next to him, his legs dangling off the edge of the bed.

“Not until I know what you actually want,” Jotaro continued. It took everything in his willpower not to take Kakyoin right there and then. His scent had grown so strong that it was now clouding over the whole room, making it impossible to escape. “First of all, do you want to go all the way tonight?”

“Yes,” was Kakyoin's curt response.

“Should we use a condom?”

“Nope. Next question.”

Jotaro was a bit taken aback by his boldness and lack of hesitation. It seemed like Kakyoin already knew exactly how he wanted things to go down tonight, which meant that he had been thinking about it. A lot, probably. Jotaro cleared his throat before he continued.

“Do you, eh,” He trailed off momentarily before continuing. “How do you feel about knotting?”

“You want to knot me?” Jotaro didn’t even need to look at Kakyoin to know that he was smirking at him. He opened his mouth to answer, before quickly closing it again. Confessing it out loud would be too much.

“Jotaro, you’re the one who wanted to talk,” Kakyoin practically purred into his ear, sneaking his arms around Jotaro’s neck again. Jotaro gave him a half-hearted glare.

“Fine. Yes, I want to.”

“Then let’s go ,” Kakyoin tugged at him, clearly starting to grow impatient. “If either of us wants to stop later on we can just say so.”

Jotaro nodded. He knew Kakyoin was right, but he still wanted to make sure that he wasn’t pressuring him into anything. He couldn’t bear the thought of hurting him. But it was clear that Kakyoin wanted this as well, which in the end was everything he needed to know.

Kakyoin let out a yelp as Jotaro without warning flipped them around, pinning him to the bed. Jotaro leaned in to kiss him hard, finally allowing himself to let go of all his earlier worries. Kakyoin did his best to keep up, letting out a small moan as Jotaro pressed his body against his. His skin felt so warm, and Jotaro needed to touch him more. He released his grip on Kakyoin’s forearms and pulled back, Kakyoin letting out a disappointed groan in the process.

Kakyoin took advantage of the moment and hooked his fingers inside the waistband of Jotaro’s underwear and tugged. Jotaro took the hint and sat back up, pulling the piece of clothing off before kicking it off the bed.

He didn’t miss the way Kakyoin licked his lips before reaching out to touch him. Jotaro held back a groan as one of Kakyoin’s fingers traced up the underside of his cock, and he quickly grabbed a hold of his wrist to pull him away, not wanting Kakyoin to have all of the fun.

“Now it’s your turn,” he said, grabbing ahold of Kakyoin’s underwear and pulling them off as well. He didn't waste any time idling and quickly leaned in to kiss him again, slowly trailing kisses down his chest until he reached his hips. He sucked a hickey onto the junction between his thigh and hip, feeling the need to mark every single part of his body, to show everyone that Kakyoin was his.

“Ah, Jotaro,” Kakyoin moaned, clawing at Jotaro’s shoulders. “Stop teasing me, I need more .”

Jotaro could have spent hours just tracing over every single dip and curve of his body, but he could both feel and smell Kakyoin’s growing arousal. It made his brain feel foggy with lust, and he knew that he wouldn’t be able to hold back much longer. He looked towards his nightstand, contemplating if they would be needing any lube or if Kakyoin had maybe changed his mind about using a condom.

Kakyoin seemed to know what he was thinking, as he quickly wrapped a leg around him to keep him secured in place. “Jotaro, I am literally dripping , we don’t need any lube.”

“Ah,” Jotaro flushed, taken aback by Kakyoin’s lewdness. “Alright then. How do we, eh, get started?”

“Well, I still have to be stretched a bit still, so do you wanna try fingering me?”

Jotaro didn’t even need to think twice about his answer, his hand immediately traveling down to prod between Kakyoin’s spread legs. He was immediately met with the overwhelming scent of his slick, which had already started dripping onto the sheets. It felt slightly sticky against his fingers, and Jotaro quickly moved them closer to his intended target.

“There, and now you can just- ah,” Kakyoin cut off as Jotaro pushed in one of his fingers, possibly a bit harder than he should have.

“Sorry,” he said, watching in fascination as Kakyoin’s body swallowed him up. He was so tight and warm, and Jotaro couldn’t even imagine what it would feel like to finally be inside him. Although he had wanted this for a long time, he was glad that they had waited. It may be cheesy, but he wanted this moment to be special. Kakyoin deserved someone to treat him well, especially after Dio had tried to ruin it for him.

He added another finger, Kakyoin writhing beneath him. Jotaro left a trail of small kisses down his neck, hoping to distract him from any eventual pain he might be causing. He slowly pulled his fingers out again before working them in at a slow but steady pace. Kakyoin tightened around him as he brushed against his sweet spot, before letting out another moan, his fingers digging into Jotaro’s shoulder blades.

“Hurry please, I want you,” he panted, encouraging Jotaro to speed up his actions.

“Should I add another one?” Jotaro asked, wondering if two fingers would be enough for him. Kakyoin nodded.

“Yes, thanks to your giant monster cock I think I’ll need it,” he let out a laugh, cutting off into a moan as Jotaro pushed in a third finger beside the other two. Kakyoin pulled his legs up closer to his sides, letting Jotaro push in even deeper.

Jotaro’s breathing was growing heavier by the second. He knew that he was slowly starting to lose control, feeling like he was close to starting a rut. But he knew that wasn’t the case, and that it was only Kakyoin’s pheromones slowly driving him crazy. How had they even managed to stay away from each other for this long?

“Jotaro, I’m ready,” Kakyoin pushed at his shoulder to get him to sit back up. Jotaro caught his eyes, trying his best to hide his nerves from showing. What if he did something wrong, or what if he made Kakyoin hurt? But the desperation in Kakyoin’s eyes, and the heavy flush covering both his cheeks and chest showed him that they both wanted, needed , the same thing.

Jotaro grabbed a hold of Kakyoin’s thighs, pulling him closer before angling his legs up towards his chest. He watched on in fascination as his hole twitched before him, glistening with slick and desperate to be filled.

He grabbed a hold of the base of his cock, lining the head up with Kakyoin’s entrance. Just one small thrust, and he would be inside. He properly looked at Kakyoin one last time, searching for any trace of hesitation in his expression, but not finding any.

He slowly began pushing in, being careful not to move too quickly or roughly and accidentally hurt him. Kakyoin’s eyes fell shut, a lengthy moan falling from his lips as Jotaro bottomed out.

Jotaro bit onto his lip in an attempt to hold back his groans. Kakyoin was so incredibly tight around him, and it took all of Jotaro’s self-control to not immediately start fucking him as hard as he could. Instead he stayed still, rubbing small circles against the back of Kakyoin’s thighs to help him relax as he adjusted to his girth.

“Fuck,” Kakyoin whimpered. “Jotaro, give me more, please, I need you to move,” His legs flexed against Jotaro’s grip, a desperate attempt to create some more friction. His hands grabbed onto Jotaro’s shoulders, trying to pull him in closer while Jotaro stood his ground. It was an unusual sight, to have Kakyoin be such a desperate and begging mess. He normally always stood his ground and was proud of the level-headedness he possessed. But Jotaro couldn’t help but to love seeing him like this, a laid-out wreck, only for him to witness.

Jotaro complied, carefully pulling out until only the head was inside, before pushing back in. He set up a steady, slow pace, wanting to wait for Kakyoin’s signal before he sped up. He gritted his teeth, clamping his eyes shut tight. Being this gentle wasn’t easy. Every instinct in his body told him to pin Kakyoin down and fuck him as hard as he could. But Jotaro refused to let that side of him take over, not yet at least.

Kakyoin was louder than he had expected him to be, every moan slowly making Jotaro lose more of his already faltering control. It was all so overwhelming, the feeling of being inside him, the sight of Kakyoin just laid out in front of him, taking him so well, and the sweet noises he made with each and every thrust.

“Noriaki,” Jotaro panted, feeling the need to say his name, to verify that this was real. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah,” Kakyoin answered, his voice slightly shaky. “Feels good. You can go harder.”

Jotaro readjusted, allowing him to thrust in even deeper. He was instantly awarded with an especially loud moan on Kakyoin’s part. He sped up, wanting to make sure that Kakyoin was feeling as great as he himself was. His efforts were rewarded with more of Kakyoin’s sweet noises, his nails digging into his back hard enough for it to be borderline painful.

Jotaro connected their lips in a desperate kiss. He needed to be closer to Kakyoin on every level he could, he felt insatiable, like he could never get enough. His thrust got harder, pushing in as deep as he could. The grip on Kakyoin’s thighs tightened, pulling him back to meet each thrust half-way. Kakyoin was a mess underneath him, his moans of pleasure soon merging into those of overstimulation.

“Jotaro- ah!, too much, slow down,” he cried out, fingernails digging into Jotaro’s skin, almost piercing it. Jotaro immediately came to a stop.

“Fuck, did I hurt you?” he pulled back, looking Kakyoin over with worry evident in his eyes.

“You were just a bit too rough, that’s all. I’m okay, please keep going,” Kakyoin said, tugging at his shoulders in an attempt to make him move again. Jotaro hesitated, wondering if he should pull out to make sure he was alright, but Kakyoin made it more than clear that he still wanted this. So he resumed his thrusting, making sure to properly keep himself in check this time around.

Kakyoin’s previous moans quickly returned, his eyes falling shut. Jotaro tilted his hips, trying to locate his sweet spot again. After a few fruitless attempts, Kakyoin suddenly cried out for more, showing that Jotaro had accomplished his goal. Jotaro kept his hips in place as he kept fucking into him at the same angle, causing Kakyoin to whimper with every thrust.

“I’m close.”

“Me too.”

“Jotaro, please mark me,” Kakyoin begged, tilting his head to the side. Dio’s mark was still visible against his skin, taunting him. He leaned in to nibble at the soft, unmarred skin just beneath it, his control slowly beginning to slip away again. He sucked a deep purple bruise onto the base of Kakyoin’s neck, before trailing up, resting his teeth against the spot where Dio had once marked him. Kakyoin’s arms looped around his neck, encouraging him to go further.

Jotaro slowly let his teeth sink into Kakyoin’s skin, causing him to gasp loudly. He slowed down momentarily, focusing on leaving a proper mark, and removing any traces of Dio ever having done the same. Kakyoin held him close, crying out while Jotaro held the position for a few seconds, before retracting. He looked over the mark, the deep indents of his teeth starkly visible against Kakyoin’s pale skin. A couple droplets of blood had collected at the two small puncture wounds. He leaned in to lap at them, relishing in the tingling feeling under his skin from finally properly bonding with Kakyoin.

“Fuck,” Kakyoin panted, letting his finger trace over the mark, a blissful look on his face. No hint of the fear and confusion he had after getting marked by Dio was anywhere to be found, his influence now having been completely replaced by Jotaro’s. “Knot me please, I need it,” he said as he wrapped his legs tighter around Jotaro.

Jotaro resumed his pace, fucking into Kakyoin with deep, steady thrusts. He let his hands grace over Kakyoin’s chest, occasionally moving up to caress the mark again. Just to remind himself that it was there, that Kakyoin was finally his and nobody else’s.

The feeling of Kakyoin tight around his cock was bringing him closer and closer to his orgasm. The desperate noises and clawing at his back told him that Kakyoin was close as well. He sped up his pace, wanting to bring both of them to completion together.

His knot slowly started swelling bigger, excited by the promise to finally be locked inside his lover. Kakyoin moaned as it pressed against his tender stop, quickly morphing into a gasp as he felt Jotaro swell up inside him.

“Yes! Jotaro, I’m so close,” he threw his head back, letting the ecstasy wash over him. Jotaro wrapped a hand around his cock, tugging on it with rough strokes causing Kakyoin to tighten around him. Jotaro hissed, bottoming out one last time before his knot swelled to its full size. His hands moved to grab at Kakyoin’s hips, keeping him still as he kept grinding against him, finally reaching his own climax.

Jotaro bit down onto his neck as he rode out his orgasm, Kakyoin moaning and trembling beneath him as he was filled up with cum. Losing himself in the pleasure, Jotaro lost control of the noises he made, desperate pants flowing from his lips, mixing with the sounds of Kakyoin practically yelling in pleasure as he coated Jotaro’s stomach with his cum.

They panted against each other, both trying to catch their breaths as they slowly came down from their orgasms. Jotaro’s knot slowly started to go back down, allowing him to slip out. He watched in fascination as his cum dripped out of Kakyoin’s hole and onto the sheets. Before he could stop himself he scooped it up with his fingers, pushing it back inside. Kakyoin let out a broken groan at the overstimulation.

“I feel like my whole body is made out of jelly,” he mumbled. “You quite literally fucked my brains out.”

Jotaro smiled, leaning down to give him a chaste kiss before collapsing next to him on the bed. He looped an arm around Kakoin’s waist, holding him close and burying his face in his neck. He smelled amazing; like sex and omega, and most importantly- like he was Jotaro’s.

“Hey?” Kakyoin asked, breaking the silence. His voice was hoarse, which didn’t surprise Jotaro in the slightest. He couldn’t help but feel accomplished knowing he could make his omega be loud enough to almost lose his voice. “Can I mark you too? I really want to be your mate in every way possible.”

“Of course, I want that too,” Jotaro responded. Kakyoin turned to face him, watching him closely. “Let’s make it official.”

Kakyoin smiled brightly, before pushing himself up onto his forearms. He leaned towards Jotaro’s chest, pressing small kisses against his collarbone as he let his fingers trace over his muscles. “Where should I put it?” he asked, looking up at Jotaro from underneath his eyelashes.

“Wherever you want,” Jotaro answered. While it was the norm for Alphas to mark their omega’s neck, the same standards didn’t go the other way around. Omegas usually marked their alpha somewhere more hidden, not carrying the same possessive traits as their alpha partners did.

Kakyoin hummed, eventually settling for a spot right underneath Jotaro’s collarbone.

“Right here?” he asked, waiting for Jotaro’s nod before sinking his teeth into the flesh. Jotaro hissed at the pain mixed with pleasure that erupted. His fingers wove into Kakyoin’s hair, combing through it as Kakyoin nibbled at the newly formed mark, pressing small kisses all around it.

“Hm, I like the look of that,” he mumbled, smiling up at Jotaro. “I like knowing that you’re mine now,” he moved up to kiss Jotaro properly on the lips.

“And you’re mine,” Jotaro said between kisses. “I won’t allow anyone else to even as much as look at you wrong ever again.”

“I think that’s a tad too possessive, Jojo,” Kakyoin commented.

“Fine, but I won’t let anyone touch you at least.”

Kakyoin hummed, tracing patterns against Jotaro’s skin with his fingers. “I can live with that,” Jotaro could feel his smile as he burrowed his face into his chest, his movements halting to a stop.

“I could fall asleep like this,” Kakyoin mumbled, his voice dripping with sleep. Jotaro tightened his arms around him, feeling an overwhelming need to hug him close and never let go.

“You should, just not with your neck in that position or you’ll be sore tomorrow. Here,” he said, gently placing Kakyoin down on the bed next to him, making sure that his head was comfortably resting against the pillow. He pressed himself closer to his back, his arms wrapped around his frame to rest over Kakyoin’s tummy, rubbing small circles into the skin. The scent of Kakyoin’s arousal was slowly starting to grow heavier again.

“I was gonna ask if you’re up for another round, but I can already feel that you indeed are,” Kakyoin said with a laugh, pushing his ass back against Jotaro’s half-hard dick.

“Shut up and sleep, we can make love again after you’ve regained some energy,” he pressed a small kiss against the spot right behind Kakyoin’s ear. Kakyoin let out a weak snort.

“‘ Making love ’, you’re so cheesy,” he said, with no real heat behind the words. “God, I love you so much.”

Jotaro tensed up. That was the first time either of them had ever said those words out loud. His heartbeat sped up, feeling like it was about to burst right out of his chest. This was all so overwhelming- getting to hold Kakyoin in his arms after just mating with him, and now an out of the blue love confession? Jotaro had to be the luckiest man in the world to have all this.

Kakyoin must have mistaken his silence for reluctance, as he quickly began talking again. “Fuck, was that too early? I’m sorry, my hormones are just all over the place and I-”

“I love you too, Noriaki,” Jotaro cut him off, nuzzling against the back of his neck.

“Oh,” Kakyoin said, taken aback. “Well, that’s good. I guess.”

Jotaro smiled. “It is.”

He would have to make sure to both tell and show Kakyoin how much he loved him every single day from now on. But before that, they were both in desperate need of some rest. Jotaro hugged him closer, letting his mind wander off to think about the endless possibilities of their happy future together, until they both drifted off to sleep.
