Work Text:
‘Concentrate on something and try to breathe’ you told yourself multiple times. Jotaro wasn’t home today due to his work schedule, so you tried to calm down by yourself, fix your gaze on something to stop your mind from racing thoughts. Counting pens on the table, watching TV, trying to read, wrapping yourself in a blanket. Nothing worked. Your worry started to grow. You felt your cheeks burning as the room suddenly felt hotter due to your anxiety. Hands shaking, you tried to cool yourself by waving your hands in front of your face, trying to create any sort of a breeze.
You suddenly felt a cold hand on your cheek startling you. Jumping for the couch and turning around you were met with a concerned Star Platinum, who drew his hand back afraid of hurting you. Jotaro didn’t frequently let Star out with you around, deeming it to be “too emotional”, which you didn’t quite get at first. Until one time when Star practically squeezed the life out of you screaming his catchphrase when you met Jotaro after months of his absence due to his research project.
It was rare for you to see the stand without its user. At first you suspected that Jotaro was somewhere near, but realizing it couldn’t be possible, you just settled on adding this to the multitude of Star Platinum’s abilities. Seeing Star withdraw his hand back afraid he had hurt you made your heart flutter with adoration.
“Don’t worry, Star, you didn’t hurt me” you reassured him with a warm smile on your face, “I am just a little bit…’’ you tried to find the right words to explain to Star how you felt. Luckily you didn’t need to.
He hesitantly brought his hands on your shoulder, studying your face, then slowly pulled you into a comforting hug as he had seen Jotaro do many times. You ran your hands through his floating hair, slowly starting to even your breathing and concentrating on the coolness of his skin. He gently held you, occasionally whispering soft ‘oras’ as a means of support, your anxiety slowly fading.
As the exhaustion overtook your body, you buried your head in Star’s scarf sighing. He brought you both down on the couch once again. As he has settled with you still in his arms, he wrapped the blanket around you, making sure that you are comfortable. You in turn put your head on his shoulder, admiring his features, his soft and caring gaze never leaving your face. Tracing the gold lines on his body and admiring his long floating hair brought peace to your mind and soul. You buried your head in his strong chest, letting out a sigh of relief. You were finally calm, all thanks to Star.
