Notes:

This is 7K of me just trying to get my writing back. I've been unmotivated lately, but between prompts I've found and a Wheel of Names to Randomly select ships, I'm getting somewhere. This was actually going to take a sad turn, but I decided to stop it before it did. I'm a sucker for Fluff, okay?

I hope you all enjoy, please leave comments and/or kudos if you liked it! <3

Work Text:

Jimin remembered the first time that he met Hoseok. The younger had just left Busan to study in Seoul, he was nervous to start in a new place, but something told him that he would be alright. He was walking into his dance class and noticed the man that was practicing in the mirror, before the class was in session. There was something about him that immediately got his attention.

His movements were sharp and he seemed to hit every single beat that played in the music, Jimin was enamored. Seeing people dance was nothing new to him, he had been dancing since he could walk, but there was just something different about this guy.

He was special and Jimin could tell that just by the way he let the music move his body. It looked so effortless and Jimin was so incredibly impressed.

“He’s amazing, right?” A voice came from next to him.

Jimin hadn’t realized that he’d been staring so openly. He tore his gaze away from the beautiful man dancing to the person who’d approached him. Jimin’s cheeks were on fire, his gaze cast towards the floor with a slight nod.

“I’ve never seen anyone move like that before.” The new student whispered, brushing his fingers through his light brown hair.

“He’s one of a kind, that’s for sure.” The handsome newcomer grinned cheekily. “I’m Taemin, third year and the TA for this class.”

“Oh! Sunbaenim, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Jimin bowed politely. “I’m Park Jimin, this is my first year…”

“C’mon… let me introduce you.” Taemin stated as the music stopped and the handsome man at the front of the room fell back against the parquet floor.

Jimin’s eyes widened as Taemin grabbed his wrist and tugged him forward. A squeak left the younger boy and he could feel the nerves building inside of him. Normally, he wasn’t really the shy type but there was something about this that just made him lose his usual confidence.

“Seok-ah?” Taemin leaned down and held his hand out to the dancer.

The red head smiled brightly as he opened his eyes, “Taemin-hyung, you’re here early!” The dancer let the older man pull him up and Jimin couldn’t help but wonder if this guy was a first year like him, since he was calling Taemin hyung.

“I am, we’ve got a new dancer joining the class… I wanted to introduce you.”

Taemin glanced back at Jimin, who shifted a bit under the attention, and Hoseok stood to his full height, which was quite a few inches taller than Jimin’s full height.

“Hi!” Hoseok smiled brightly, Jimin could feel the positive energy rolling off of the other dancer.

“H-hi… it’s nice to meet you…” Jimin bowed again and Taemin chuckled softly.

“Jung Hoseok, this is Park Jimin… he just came to us from Busan… right?” Taemin asked glanced at Jimin who looked a little shocked.

“Yes… how did you…?”

“I study all my new students, gotta know what I’m dealing with. Hobi here is a second year… he picks up choreography so fast that he’s like our second TA.” Taemin chuckled and nudged Hoseok.

“I wouldn’t say that…” Hoseok blushed, rubbing the back of his neck.

“I would… you two should get to know each other… Seok show him a few of our stretches before class starts, yeah?”

Hoseok smiled and nodded to their senior and turned to Jimin, holding out his hand.

“It’s really nice to meet you… I know it can be kind of scary coming here from so far away… but if you need anything, I’ll be happy to help you.” Jimin took his hand and shook it slightly, feeling a warmth spread through him.

“Thank you, that really means a lot…” Jimin swallowed hard, feeling his face flush.

Hoseok flashed him a cheeky grin and gave his shoulder a squeeze, nodding his head towards the side of the room where some other dancers were warming up. They made small talk while Hoseok showed him a few of their usual warm ups, which weren’t much different than his warm ups he did on his own.

After class, Hoseok offered to show Jimin around a bit and it was like the rest was history after that. They were inseparable and became fast friends and Jimin couldn’t have been happier.

The first time that Jimin held his hand, it took Hoseok by surprise a little bit. They were at the student carnival. Something that the school put on in order to raise money for this and that. The students didn’t mind they found it to be entertaining, it gave them something to do that was a little bit different from the norm.

It was packed, though, it was like every student and friend group was there. That was no different from Hoseok and Jimin who had quickly meshed well with Hoseok’s group of friends and even added another person to it. They were a group of seven and with their brightly dyed hair, they stood out pretty well against most of the others around them.

The lines were packed for everything, but that didn’t stop his friends from dragging them from one ride to the next. They ended up being pushed into a fun house and Jimin didn’t mind so much, but he knew Hoseok wasn’t a huge fan of things like this. The older man didn’t do well with suspenseful things.

They were making their way through the fun house, things moving and tripping them up along the way. It was going fine, the seven of them laughing and talking about the different rooms. The next room they go into, however, has everyone jumping as the lights go out and start flashing.

“Oh shit!” Jimin heard Hoseok cry out and the younger immediately gripped onto the older’s arm.

“Hyung, are you okay?” He asked, his tone rushed as his adrenaline pumped a bit faster than before.

“Y-yeah… just caught me off guard is all…” Hoseok stuttered feeling Jimin’s small hand move down his arm slowly.

“Jeongguk you’re twelve, get your hand off my ass…” They heard Yoongi’s deep voice from ahead of them.

“I’m not twelve!” Came the pouty voice of their youngest friend. “I just turned nineteen hyung!” The protest continued and Hoseok could hear the pout on the younger’s face and knew that his hyung wouldn’t be able to resist much longer.

“That still doesn’t give you the okay to grab my ass.” Yoongi deadpanned.

“Like I can see!” Jeongguk argued.

Jimin laughed softly into Hoseok’s ear and moved his hand slowly down to link his fingers with the elders. Hoseok froze for a moment, feeling the soft warm hand fit perfectly into his much larger hand. His heart stopped in his chest and he cleared his throat a little bit.

The younger froze and rested his chin on Hoseok’s shoulder, “Is this okay, hyung?”

The older dancer was so happy that it was so dark, because he was definitely as red as a tomato. He nodded, but then realized that Jimin couldn’t see him, “Y-yeah… i-its okay…”

Jimin gave his hand a squeeze and followed Yoongi’s mint green hair to get them out of this room and into the next one. The next room wasn’t nearly as bad, but Jimin kept a tight grasp on Hoseok’s hand, not bothering to let it go the rest of the time they were in the fun house.

Hoseok expected to have his hand empty as soon as they were out of the house and heading to their next adventure, but it didn’t happen. His hand continued to be encompassed by a much smaller, much warmer one. Now that they weren’t shielded by the dark, Hoseok let his gaze slip down to their joined hands and then back up to Jimin who’s cheeks were flushed but he was laughing at something Taehyung was saying.

The dancer couldn’t stop the way his heart jumped in his chest and his palms sweat just a little bit. He wanted to take his hand back because he was embarrassed about the sweat, but the grip on his hand just tightened a little bit and he felt Jimin’s body move a little bit closer to his.

“Jeongguk, get your hands off of my ass… I swear to all that is holy I will chop your limbs off!” Yoongi grumbled as he shoved the youngest away from him, though there was a gummy smile on his face and even thought he youngest was trying to pout, he was laughing.

“He’s just appreciating a fine ass when he sees one, hyung!” Taehyung chirped, his brown eyes watching the two with admiration.

“We can’t take them anywhere…” Jimin murmured to him, his tone playful and his lips crooked into a smile.

“No, we really can’t…” Hoseok agreed, squeezing Jimin’s hand back and continuing to the next ride.

The hand holding became more frequent, as well as Jimin finding himself a spot next to Hoseok wherever they went. He demanded hugs and cuddles whenever they were together. The older didn’t have any issues with that at all. He quite enjoyed having the younger glued to him, he wanted to make it more permanent.

It was obvious that they liked each other, Hoseok wasn’t oblivious. They had become great friends over the (almost) year that they had known one another. He wasn’t afraid of his feelings and he wasn’t afraid of their friendship changing because of this step, he was just waiting for what felt like the right time.

That time came a bit quicker than he’d been expecting when he noticed someone that was in his year flirting with Jimin. Hoseok wouldn’t say that he was the jealous type, it took a lot to work him up, but there was just something about the way the other boy was coming on to Jimin that bothered him. Jimin didn’t seem as though he was really into it and as Hoseok got closer he could hear the younger saying something along the same lines.

“Sorry, I appreciate the offer but… I’m not interested.” Jimin smiled sweetly, his cotton candy colored hair falling into his eyes as he looked at the older boy with an apology.

Hoseok smiled a bit to himself and the other boy wrinkled his nose, “Your loss.” He huffed before walking off.

The older dancer watched as the guy stalked off and Jimin let out a heavy sigh, “You okay, Minnie?” Hoseok questioned, using the nickname that most of their group used for the small dancer.

“Yeah, hyung… I’m fine.”

“He wasn’t bothering you was he? I’ll go kick his ass.”

Jimin laughed, his eyes disappearing as he smiled and shook his head, “You’re a big softie, you’re not kicking anyone’s ass.”

“If they’re bothering my favorite person, I’d consider it.”

“Oh?” Jimin felt his cheeks flush. “And I’m your favorite person?”

“Mmm… think that’s pretty obvious, Minnie.”

Hoseok moved to take the younger’s hand in his, lacing their fingers together tightly, “Why me?”

“You’re special.” Hoseok stated and pulled Jimin closer to him, resting his free hand under the younger’s chin and tilting his face up to look at him. “I think I’ve waited long enough.”

“Waited long enough for what, hyung?” Jimin asked, his eyes wide and staring up at the boy that he looked at as one of his very best friends.

“To ask you if you’ll go out on a date with me, Park Jimin?” Hoseok brushed his fingers along Jimin’s jawline.

Jimin’s eyes got wider, if that was at all possible and then a bright smile broke out over his handsome face. It took Hoseok a bit by surprise, but the younger dancer squealed happily, wrapping his arms tightly around the older and hugging him tightly.

“Oh my God, hyung! I’ve been waiting for this forever!” The pink haired boy exclaimed happily.

“Really?”

“Yes! I wasn’t sure if… you know, you felt the way that I did… I mean… I had an idea and Taehyungie told me I was crazy if I thought you didn’t like me… but I wasn’t certain and I’ve just been… just been waiting for you to ask and…” Jimin spoke quickly, his face getting flustered as he spoke.

“I like you, Minnie. I like you a lot.” Hoseok smiled down at him.

“I’m so happy to hear that, hyung… you have no idea!”

“I think I have a little bit of an idea.” The older dancer chuckled and Jimin blushed slightly. “So, how about I take you out tonight… maybe dinner and a movie?”

“O-okay, hyung… yes… I’d love that, it sounds perfect.”

It was safe to say that as soon as they parted ways, Jimin was on cloud nine and already calling Taehyung to tell him the great news. Hoseok wasn’t much different, as soon as they were out of earshot from each other he was calling Yoongi and telling him all about how he had worked up the courage to ask Jimin out.

“If all it took was you getting a little jealous, I would have flirted with Jimin right in front of you.” Yoongi scoffed on the other line, chuckling lowly.

“I probably would have cried, hyung. That’s not even funny.” Hoseok pouted, making his way to his car so he could head home and get ready for his date with Jimin, even if it wasn’t for a few hours.

“Why would you have cried?” Yoongi teased, Hoseok could hear shuffling on the other end. No doubt a stack of papers that he had lyrics scribbled all over.

“Because, everyone falls in love with you, Yoongi hyung.” The dancer whined playfully into the phone.

“Look, I didn’t ask to be blessed with these dashing good looks and sparkling personality, okay? It’s not my fault. Blame my parents.” The composing major said with as much enthusiasm as a sloth.

Hoseok laughed, a full-belly laugh and shook his head as he climbed into his car, “So, I’ve got a date with him tonight… I’m just going to do dinner and a movie… any restaurant recommendations, Romeo?”

“So suddenly?” Yoongi quipped. “I’ve literally been dating for like two weeks, that suddenly makes me an expert?”

“You’ve been dating two guys for two weeks, that’s twice the amount of time and effort. I’d say that makes you an expert.”

“Why don’t you call Namjoonie or Jin hyung? They’ve been dating for two years… they’re the experts.”

“Listen-- those two are freaks… I’m not trying to scare Jiminie off the first date, okay?”

“Points have been made.” The composer chuckled and the shuffling came to a stop. “There is a semi-decent restaurant like fifteen minutes away from our dorm. I’ll text you the information, it shouldn’t be too busy tonight, but call ahead and make a reservation, yeah?”

“You’re the best hyung.”

“I try… now I’ve got to get back to this song, it won’t finish itself.”

“Aye, aye captain.”

Hoseok quickly hung up the phone and not but a few minutes later it dinged with a text message. A shared location, Hoseok clicked on it, checked out the pictures and reviews and decided that it would do for his first real date with Park JImin.

The first date lead to great conversation. They learned more about each other than Jimin thought possible. He honestly thought he knew almost everything there was to know about Jung Hoseok, but he had been mistaken. Hoseok was like an enigma; he had layers and you had to peel them back, bit by bit.

Jimin figured he was just grazing the surface at this point and he was looking forward to learning more and more as time went on. It was obvious that they clicked, they’d been friends for nearly a year. The line between friendship and more had always been kind of blurry with them because of the hand holding, cuddling and hugs. It was nice to be able to do all of that, but now during their date tonight it seemed a little deeper.

More meaningful.

After dinner, Hoseok took him to go see a movie he’d been talking about all week. He was pleasantly surprised that they were both pretty into it and it gave them a lot to talk about on the ride back to Jimin’s dorm that he shared with Taehyung.

Once the car was parked outside of his dorm, Hoseok quickly jumped out and opened the passenger’s side door for Jimin to get out. The way that heat rushed throughout Jimin’s body took him off guard. Sure, he’d had people do that for him before, but it felt different in this sense. Everything with Hoseok felt different.

“I had a really good time, Minnie.” Hoseok stated as he toyed with the bottom of his jacket. He had literally spent an hour trying to figure out what he was going to wear, like Jimin hadn’t seen every piece of clothing that took up his entire closet.

“Me too, but I didn’t expect anything less, to be honest, hyung.” Jimin blushed, moving his hand to take Hoseok’s it was almost like second nature when they were near each other now.

“Yeah?” Hoseok sighed, thankful that things went well.

“Of course, you’re amazing and we like each other… I didn’t see this going any other way.”

“I’m glad you think so, Min.” The older dancer chewed on his bottom lip nervously.

He was sure that the younger could see right through him. His dark gaze was focused on those beautiful, full lips that the younger was wetting right now as they spoke. Hoseok couldn’t help it, he’d been thinking about kissing Jimin for the longest time and now they were just finishing up their first real date. It seemed like the appropriate time to share their first kiss, right?

He didn’t want to move too fast, though. That would give Jimin the wrong impression, wouldn’t it? He didn’t want the younger to think that this was all physical, because it definitely wasn’t. That was and would just be a bonus.

“Hobi-hyung?” Jimin pulled the older man out of his thoughts and he shook his head.

“Sorry, I…”

“You were… just thinking about kissing me, I hope?” Jimin questioned, a hopeful smile on his face and Hoseok swore that his heart just flew right out of his chest in that very moment.

He coughed, nearly choking on his own tongue and he gave a slight nod. He was so dumb.

“Y-yeah… but like… only if you’re okay with it?”

“Obviously I’m okay with it, hyung… I’ve been waiting for you to kiss me all night.” Jimin cupped the older’s face and pulled him down until their lips met.

Hoseok was shocked at the soft cushion-like lips that were now on his. His eyes closed and he circled his arms around Jimin’s small waist and pulled him a little bit closer. The shock wore off after a few moments of their lips pressing against one another.

He kept it innocent at first, just a simple press of lips together and then Jimin nipped at his bottom lip and Hoseok couldn’t stop himself. The taller brushed his tongue along Jimin’s bottom lip asking for entrance and it was given within mere seconds.

The kiss was getting deeper and if Hoseok didn’t pull away soon, he was going to have a serious problem on his hands when he left to head home. He slowly pulled away, moving his hands up to cup Jimin’s cheeks in his large hands, smiling ear-to-ear.

“You are… amazing, Minnie.” Hoseok spoke softly, the younger turning a few shades pinker than his hair.

“I don’t know about all of that, but I’ll take it since its coming from you.” Jimin giggled and pecked Hoseok’s lips again. “So… we’re like… boyfriends now, right?”

Blinking, Hoseok hadn’t really thought much about it, he was so excited about the date he hadn’t really thought about technicalities and all of that. Having Jimin as his boyfriend was the ultimate goal, obviously but he hadn’t thought it would happen after the first date. He didn’t know why, but he figured he might have to take him out on a few more dates before he was able to call Jimin his, at least in that sense.

“I-I would really like that…” Hoseok admitted shyly, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Good, me too.” Jimin grinned and stepped up on to the first step and leaned in to steal one more kiss. “Good night boyfriend, call me when you get home, yeah?”

Hoseok felt his chest clench and the butterflies in his stomach took off as Jimin skipped up the next few steps, glancing back at him with a bright smile. He simply nodded his head in agreement and watched as the younger disappeared inside. The street dancer took a few moments before he ran into his car and sped the rest of the way home, more than excited to call his boyfriend when he got there.

Things were going amazing, they had been dating for just over six months and it seemed like everyone in their friend group was really happy. Hoseok couldn’t think of a better way to finish out his school year than enjoying it with his boyfriend and his best friends. Of course, two of their best friends had already graduated and were being real adults, but there was still five of them taking classes now.

“You are the last person I thought I’d see here after they graduated.” Hoseok laughed loudly as he glanced over at his best friend who was holding a tray of drinks in one hand.

Yoongi shot him a glare and he let out a huff, “Look, when you’re in love… you’re willing to do anything to make your boyfriends happy.” The composer used his free hand to push through his newly bleached hair.

“In love, huh?” Hoseok hummed in thought, he hadn’t realized that Yoongi, Taehyung and Jeongguk had taken the big step into the ‘I love you’ stage. He was happy for them nonetheless, it was something that hadn’t really been brought up with Jimin, but they were just enjoying themselves at this point.

“Yeah… I said it to them for the first time like a month ago… and they can’t get enough of it.” Yoongi laughed at himself. “I did this to myself, I know.”

“Do you really… you know…” Hoseok questioned, taking a sip of his smoothie.

“Of course, I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t really feel that way. I’m pretty sure I’ve been in love with those two idiots since I met them.” Yoongi shrugged his shoulders. “I was just worried because… you know… they’re young and our relationship isn’t exactly conventional.”

“But it works for you guys.”

“It does.” Yoongi nodded as he sipped his Americano from the tray of drinks.

“I’m happy for you, Yoonie.” Hoseok smiled softly at his best friend.

“Thanks, Seok Seok.” The blonde bumped his shoulder into the dancer’s. “I’m happy for you, too, you know. You and Jimin… you guys are great together. I’ve never seen you this happy.”

“He makes me… really, really happy.” The dark haired man chewed on his bottom lip.

“Good… don’t feel pressured about anything, go at your own pace… y’know?”

“Yeah, for sure…” Hoseok blushed a bit and looked up when he heard a bit of a rockus which could really only mean one thing - Jeongguk, Taehyung and Jimin were on their way over.

“HYUNGGGGIE!” Taehyung cried as he ran towards the two older men, almost tackling his boyfriend.

“Hey baby… how was your first class?” Yoongi asked between kisses.

“Don’t even get him started, Yoongi-hyung!” Jimin quipped as he draped himself over his boyfriend, kissing his cheek adoringly. “Hello handsome!”

“Minnie…” Hoseok wrapped his free hand around his boyfriend and offered the straw of his smoothie to him, which Jimin took happily.

“Hey hyungs” Jeongguk smiled shyly as he sidled up next to Yoongi who had Taehyung already wrapped around him. Yoongi smiled at him, leaning into drop a peck on his lips quickly. Taehyung was definitely open with the PDA which normally Yoongi wouldn’t be open to, but it was definitely different now than it had ever been before. Jeongguk was always a little shy at first, especially when there was a lot of people around.

“I brought you guys some sustenance, since you left before I could make you breakfast.” He nodded towards the drink tray and the bag that was in his other hand.

“Hyung, you didn’t have to do that.” Taehyung gasped happily.

“Jeonggukie texted and said you guys were hungry.” Yoongi scoffed and Taehyung looked over at his other boyfriend and the younger shrugged sheepishly.

Jimin giggled and hid his face into Hoseok’s shoulder. The older dancer wrapped his arms around him tighter, “I got you a little something, too.” He nodded to the bag he had in his hand.

Jimin scoffed, “You didn’t need to do this, Seokie.”

“I know, but I wanted to.” Hoseok smiled, pressing a kiss to Jimin’s lips. The younger let out a little noise of happiness against his boyfriend’s lips.

“You’re the best.”

They spent a few more minutes with each other and their friends before they all had to go in different ways. Yoongi had to head to his new internship at a small label that he had managed to snag while he was waiting for his Master’s program to start up in a couple of months. Jeongguk had a class in the art building and Taehyung had a psychology class that he was late for. Hoseok walked Jimin to his next class and then headed to the library to study for an exam that he had coming up.

Though, not a lot of studying was going on. He couldn’t help but think about his conversation with Yoongi. He had never seen his best friend like this. It was definitely interesting to see him so whipped for two boys who were equally whipped for each other and him. It was sweet and he really was happy for him.

His mind drifted from the conversation to his own feelings. He knew what he felt for Jimin was special. Itw as different than any relationship he had before, but was it love? He wasn’t really sure, he had never really been in love before. He knew that Jimin made him happy and he always wanted to be around him. He never felt complete unless Jimin was there with him.

Was that love?

Was there really an answer?

He decided to do a little research, to help ease his mind and his heart.

Hoseok wasn’t the first to say those three words, though. Nope, the honor became Jimin’s one night, several weeks later, when they were laying on the floor of one of the practice rooms. They had just had an intense practice session for their showcase that was coming up in a few short weeks. Jimin always worked himself to perfection. It worried Hoseok sometimes, but it was why he was here with him.

“Hey, Seokie…?” Jimin’s voice was light, his head was laying against Hoseok’s thigh.

“Yeah, Minnie?” He hummed in response, his chest rising and falling quickly as he tried to catch his breath. This practice had definitely taken it out of him.

“I…” Jimin’s voice faltered slightly and Hoseok sat up quickly.

“Babe, are you okay?” He questioned worriedly.

“No, yes… I’m fine…” Jimin looked up at him, he hadn’t meant to alarm him. “I just… there’s something I want to say to you… but I don’t… I don’t know if its too fast or…”

“Whatever you want to say, baby… just say it… we’re going at our own pace here. There is no right or wrong… at least, I don’t think so.” Hoseok assured him, brushing his dark hair from his face.

Jimin closed his eyes, he looked like he was trying to control himself and Hoseok wasn’t sure what he was going to say. He was worried, to be honest. He thought things were going really well for them and he didn’t know what this could possibly be about, that was until Jimin took a deep breath and muttered three words that he was sure he was hallucinating.

“I love you.”

Hoseok stared down at him, his face blank and he could feel Jimin go stiff. The younger sighed heavily and rolled off of his boyfriend’s lap, face first into the parquet.

“I knew it was too soon… oh my God, I’m so stupid… just forget it. Forget I said anything.”

Hoseok panicked slightly, “No… no… no… Jiminie…” Hoseok went to grab Jimin, but he was already moving to his feet and walking towards his bag.

“I know this is till knew, I’m sorry… I should have just kept my big mouth shut.” Hoseok could hear him sniffling and it made his stomach twist and he quickly pulled himself up off of the floor.

“Jiminie…” Hoseok walked over to him and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend in a tight back hug, hooking his chin on his shoulder. “It’s not too soon and you’re not stupid.” The older dancer pressed his lips to his cheek softly. “I love you, too.”

Jimin’s body seemed to relax slightly as he turned quickly in his hold, “Really?” His eyes were filled with tears and Hoseok felt his insides twist that he had upset his boyfriend. This was his fault for reacting badly.

“Yes, I’m sorry… I just wasn’t expecting it. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that.” Hoseok admitted, leaning down to press his lips to Jimin’s.

“You really… you really love me back?” Jimin’s voice wavered and all Hoseok could do was hold him closer. “You’re not just saying that to make me feel better?”

The older inhaled sharply and shook his head, “No, Jiminie… of course not. This is a big step… this is something… I’ve been thinking about for weeks.”

“Weeks?”

“Yeah, I’ve had a couple of conversations with Yoongi hyung and Seokjin hyung about it and I was going to try and do something really romantic and then… you know… confess.” Hoseok felt a bit bashful about it now.

“Yeah?”

“Yes, Minnie… you’re special to me and I wanted to make it special for you.”

“I’m sorry I ruined it.”

“You didn’t… this was better than anything I could have come up with… it was natural… and I feel...I feel like I’m on cloud nine right now.”

Jimin’s cheeks were wet with tears and with those words from Hoseok he surged to his toes and pressed his lips firmly against his boyfriends. He was about to make him breathless for an entirely different reason now.

A lot of people didn’t believe that young romances would last. Jimin’s parents had been skeptical about them moving in together, but now they had been living together for nearly four years. They had been dating for almost five. They had both graduated and were working full time and things were great. Things were perfect, even.

“Did you see what came in the mail today?” Jimin asked as he sat down on the couch next to Hoseok who was scrolling through his twitter feed, waiting for Jimin to finish in the shower.

The older of the two looked at him a bit bewildered, not realizing that he had finished and come out of the shower. The younger laughed softly, leaning over to kiss him softly.

“You’re so cute.”

“Am not, you’re the cutest.” Hoseok argued, sticking his tongue out and tucking his phone away.

“Nope, but did you hear my question?”

“About the mail?”

“Yeah.” Jimin chuckled and shook his head, “I’m going to assume that’s a no.”

“I honestly don’t even really look through it, you know that.”

“I know, but there was something special in there today, Seokie.”

“What’s that, baby?”

“Namjoon and Seokjin hyung’s wedding invitation.”

Hoseok stared at Jimin like he had grown a second head, “What?”

“Their wedding invitation. You can’t tell me you seriously forgot that they were getting married…?” Jimin pursed his lips together.

“I mean… I didn’t forget… I just… they’ve been engaged for like two years… I didn’t think a wedding was actually going to happen.”

“You know they were waiting for Joonie to finish his Masters.” Jimin chided as he tossed his legs over Hoseok’s comfortably.

“He finished his masters like eight months ago.” Hoseok snickered and turned his head to look at Jimin properly.

His boyfriend certainly changed over the years, but it was for the better. His hair was a soft blonde color, at the moment, his facial features were round but sharp. His body was toned but not harshly so like when they had first met. Jimin had grown into himself and who he was over the years that they had been together and Hoseok found it refreshing.

“Well, you know… weddings take time to plan.”

“You seem to know a lot about the topic.” Hoseok smirked a little bit.

“Well, Taehyung’s been thinking about proposing to Jeonggukie and Yoongi-hyung…”

“What?” Hoseok’s hands flew to his boyfriends legs as his body jolted in shock a bit. He hadn’t even thought of that as an option for the trio. They had been together a few weeks longer than Jimin and Hoseok, but their relationship wasn’t exactly the most conventional.

“Yeah, I mean… it's not like they can legally get married, but Taehyung wants them all to have rings, like a promise that if they could get married, they would. I think it's kind of sweet.”

“That is sweet.”

Jimin smiled a bit, resting his head on Hoseoks’ shoulder. Things were quiet for a moment, there was nothing awkward or tense about it. It was just one of those comfortable silences that they could fall into.

Hoseok couldn’t stop his brain from going a mile a minute, did that mean Jimin was ready to tie the knot? Did he want to get married now? Was that what this was all pointing to? Was Hoseok ready for that? He wasn’t sure if he was. They had never really talked about it.

Maybe now was as good a time as any.

“Would you want to?” The choreographer finally asked, breaking the silence.

“Would I want to what?” Jimin asked, sincerely confused.

“You know… get married?” The dark haired man chewed on his bottom lip, not sure what his boyfriend’s reaction would be.

“Mmmm… maybe some day.” Jimin grinned, pressing his lips to Hoseok’s cheek. “I don’t need a piece of paper to tell me that I love you and I didn’t bring it up to make you feel pressured to propose or anything. I think when its our time… we’ll know.” Jimin spoke softly, lacing their fingers together. “We’ve made it almost five years together… and I know I can see myself spending the rest of my life with you.”

“You can?”

“Of course, I can… I wouldn’t still be here if I didn’t.” Jimin pressed a kiss into his lips. “Just like everything else with us has fallen into place. When and if the time comes… I think we’ll both know.”

Hoseok smiled at Jimin’s words and wrapped his arms securely around his boyfriend, pulling him in closer. He kissed his temple and held him closely, “I love you more than words can express, Park Jimin.”

Two years after Namjoon and Seokjin tied the knot, the gang found themselves at the SNU Student and Alumni Carnival. It had been Taehyung’s idea to come, he said it was where their story really started to shape itself and Hoseok couldn’t deny that. It was actually ideal for what he had in mind.

It was probably more crowded than the first carnival that they had ever gone together as a group of seven, but they didn’t mind. They stuck close, laughing and talking and enjoying each other’s company, but there was something that was literally burning a hole in Hoseok’s pocket.

He had this great plan laid out in his mind, he had talked to Yoongi and Seokjin about it and they were all ready to make it happen. Things were going just as he had hoped, if not better.

“Hey… how about we go in the Fun House…” Seokjin pointed to the large house of ‘Fun’. Hoseok would disagree from the years of nearly having a heart attack, but it was where it all started.

“I don’t know… you know Seoki doesn’t like it…” Jimin tsked at the eldest of their group, gripping Hoseok’s hand protectively. For being smaller than him, Jimin was fierce when it came to protecting him physically, emotionally and mentally. He loved him for it.

“It’s fine, Minnie… if everyone wants to go… I’ll be okay.” Hoseok assured him. “Just promise to hold my hand?”

“Of course, I’ll never let it go.” Jimin chirped as he squeezed his boyfriend’s hand and they all headed to get in line for the Fun House.

Soft giggles were heard behind them as Yoongi, Jeongguk and Taehyung pulled up the rear, Namjoon and Seokjin in front of them. Jimin was so happy that he was here and getting to spend time with his closest friends. Their lives were busy, but they always seemed to find time for one another. They lived within five or ten minutes of one another, they had Sunday dinners together every week and they all tried to stay in contact as much as possible. They were more than friends, they were family.

Hoseok agree with that statement more than he could express. It was why he had chosen tonight of all nights to do what he was planning to do, having all of them there on this night - it just felt right.

Jeongguk stuck his camera in Hoseok’s face and Jimin pouted, “Ggukie… stop harassing him… you know he hates the fun house.”

“That’s what makes it all the more fun… I’m going to record hyung through the whole thing… my followers are going to love it!” Jeongguk laughed evilly, as only their youngest could do and get away with. Despite his degree in graphic design, Jeongguk had become Youtube famous with his vlogs about his and his fiances’ lives.

“If he murders you in your sleep, I can’t help you.” Jimin insisted with his hands up in the air, Hoseok laughing into his shoulder.

“I’m your best friend, you’re just going to let me die?” Jeongguk scoffed.

“Actually, I’m his best friend.” Taehyung piped in from the otherside of Yoongi, his bright blue hair making them stick out like a sore thumb, but he wore it incredibly well.

“Really… he threatens death upon me and all you have to say is that you’re his best friend? What kind of future husband are you?” Jeongguk grumbled as he turned his camera on his blue haired fiance.

“The best kind.” Taehyung cheesed for the camera, pressing a kiss into Yoongi’s lips. The older of the threesome shrugged lazily.

“C’mon… the line is moving!” Namjoon grabbed Jimin by the sleeve and pulled him along with him and Seokjin, but Jimin never let go of Hoseok’s hand, as promised.

They made their way into the Fun House, it was similar to the years prior with a few differences. When they got to the black out room, Hoseok felt Jimin’s hand tightened in his and he knew that it was now or never.

He stopped walking, giving Jimin’s hand a little tug as he let go and in the dark pulled a box out of his pocket that he’d been doing his best to hide. Hoseok kneeled in the middle of the floor and looked up to where he knew Jimin was, the younger making a noise of complaint from the abrupt stop and then his hand being empty.

“Hyung?” Jimin whined gently. “Where did you go?”

As if on cue, the light from Jeongguk’s camera came on and it illuminated the room enough so Jimin could see Hoseok on his knee, holding out a box with a ring in it.

“Park Jimin…” Hoseok felt a wave of emotion wash over him as this particular place brought back so many memories. This is where their journey truly began and now it was going to hopefully continue from here as well. “I’ve loved you for the longest time.” He smiled up at him, Jimin staring at him in complete and utter shock.

“No way!” Taehyung gasped, blinking at what was going on before them.

“Shut up, Taehyungie... “ Yoongi scolded softly as he pulled his fiance back from the pair.

“And I’ve known for years that I want to spend the rest of my life with you…” Hoseok chewed on his bottom lip and finally met Jimin’s gaze. “And I figured… what better place to ask than where it all really started…” The older man took a deep breath and smiled through the tears brimming his eyes, “Jimin, will you marry me?”

The younger man stared at his boyfriend, disbelief written all over his face. A million things were running through his mind as he glanced from Hoseok to Jeongguk who was filming and then to Taehyung who was in just as much disbelief as him.

The reason for that disbelief was in his bag. He quickly pulled the strap of his bag off his shoulder and brought it around to open it up. Hoseok stared at him confused, not sure as to what his boyfriend was doing and why he hadn’t really gotten an answer.

“Just wait…” Jimin murmured as he pulled a box out of his bag and opened the lid, showing a ring cushioned perfectly in between black velvet.

“Oh God… you have got to be kidding me!” Seokjin exclaimed from behind them, happy tears were falling freely from his face.

“You jerk! I was going to ask you first!” Jimin laughed as he pulled Hoseok up from his kneeling position, the older was in shock to say the very least.

“I… you…”

“Looks like great minds think alike…” Jimin said cheesily, leaning in to kiss his boyfriend -- scratch that -- fiance.

“My subscribers are going to love this… a double proposal…” Jeongguk gushed from behind the camera.

Jimin tuned him out as he was wrapped up in the biggest bearhug by his future husband, lips pressed against his and he finally let the tears fall. He was so overwhelmed with happiness that he didn’t care that they were holding up the line for the Fun House. His boyfriend had just proposed on the same exact day that he had planned to propose.

He had never heard of anything like this happening, but it felt so right.

“That’s how you know this was meant to be… you both planned to propose on the exact same day. It was fate.” Taehyung murmured to him as he hugged the couple after they escaped the Fun House.

“It’s unreal.” Jimin murmured as he glanced down at the ring on his finger. “I never thought that this would happen… but here we are.”

Hoseok smiled and kissed his future husband again, “Right back where it all started.”

“And I couldn’t be happier than I was that day you let me hold your hand.” Jimin admitted against his lips.

“Are you guys going to be sappy for the rest of the night? I’d like to keep my lunch down today, thank you.” Yoongi quipped, a playful smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Let them live, Yoon.” Joon nudged his friend and the smaller man laughed, giving a slight nod of his head.

“Okay, just this once.” He muttered, though it was very obvious by the gummy smile that he was happy for his best friends.

“I’m going to love you until my last breath, Jung Hoseok.” Jimin’s gray hair fell into his eyes as Hoseok tilted his head back slightly so they could look each other in the eye. He kissed his fiance soundly, feeling the emotions building in his chest. This is what love was and he couldn’t wait to continue the journey that they were on together.

“Not if I do it first.”
