Chapter Text
Okay class," Aizawa's monotone voice rang throughout the classroom. "Today we will be talking about mental health. More specifically, depression. How to deal with it and how to help someone with it."
Bakugou sighed. He knew about depression, more than most in his class. He hated himself and he cut, and with his mother being abusive that didn't help.
"Depression can be caused by just about anything. Bullying, childhood trauma" Everyone glared at Bakugou, knowing full well what he did to Midoriya in their younger years. "Abuse, blaming oneself for something, the list goes on. Not socializing, cutting, mood swings and many other things can be signs of depression
He then called Midoriya, Iida, and Todoroki to the front of the class to show their wrists.
Todoroki had scars. "They're from middle school. I've been clean for two years now." Everyone congratulated him. The others were clean.
After the bell rang, Bakugou was quickly putting his books in his bag, when he was approached by Kirishima.
"Hey, Bakubro! Wanna come to the mall with Kami, Sero, Mina and I? We're gonna go get bubble tea!"
Bakugou really wanted to go. He loved bubble tea and he hadn't had any in such a long time, since he was nine at least. But he knew he had to go home, or else when he did go home later, he'd be in more trouble with his mother.
"I can't. I have stuff to do." He replied.
As he was walking away, he heard Kaminari say something to Kirishima. "He never wants to do anything. Why do you even try with him?"
Kirishima rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Cause everyone deserves a chance!"
"You've given him too much already." He replied.
Bakugou walked back to his house quickly, looking down and watching his feet on the pavement.
When he got home, he tried his hardest to get up to his room before his mom spotted him, but his efforts failed.
"Katsuki, you brat! Get over here and say hello to your mother!" She screamed from the living room.
"H-hi mom..." He braced himself for the slap he knew was coming.
After she hit him, she pushed him to the ground and kicked him in his ribs a few times. "Now go to your room, worthless brat."
Bakugou went up to his room, quietly closing the door. he dropped his backpack to the ground and let out a sigh. He went to the bathroom to clean up his wounds.
After he was done he sat down on his bed, reaching for the razor on his bedside table. He slid the razor across his arm a few times, before stopping and putting a few tissues on the cuts, falling asleep soon after.
The next morning he woke up at four o'clock. Groaning, he sat up and looked at his arm, before peeling the tissues of and going to the bathroom, running them under cold water.
Bakugou got dressed in his uniform and silently thanked whatever caused him to wake up at this time, knowing he wouldn't have to deal with his mother.
He walked out of the house, closing the door quietly before turning around and breathing in the fresh morning air.
He proceeded to walk to the forest behind his house where he and Midoriya used to play when they were little.
It was fall, so every step he took was followed by a crunch of the leaves. He spotted a river and walked over to it, looking at his watch to see it was six.
He sat down on a rock next to the river and stayed there for a few minutes before he heard someone approaching.
He stood up and looked at the stranger, meeting electric blue eyes. The man was wearing a navy blue hoodie with black skinny jeans. He had a black mask over his mouth and nose.
"Hello. What're you doing here so early, kid?" The man asked him, stepping a bit closer.
"Just walking. Woke up early so I decided to come here." Bakugou replied.
"It's not safe. For all you know, I could be a kidnapper."
"You don't look like one. Besides, why would you want me...my own mother doesn't even care for me." Bakugou had no idea why he wanted to tell this person everything that was wrong. He felt that he could trust the man.
"I know how that feels. You should talk to someone about this." He replied, sitting down on a rock that was behind him.
"Can't," Bakugou said. "I'd just annoy them even more with my stupid problems. Not like they care anyway."
"Why do you think that?"
"I'm....not a nice person. I push people away and yell a lot. I've been trying to get better, but them calling me a villain isn't helping." Bakugou then looked down at his watch again. "Shit, it's seven! I, uh...thanks for listening.....um...?"
"Dabi. From the league of villains. Let's try not to run into each other again, okay?" He said, before running off.
Bakugou stood there in shock, questions forming in his mind. He shook his head, remembering that he had to get to class.
He got there five minutes before class time. Everyone was already there and stared at Bakugou as he got in, out of breath and disheveled from running.
He ignored them, walking over to his desk and sitting down, before looking up at the board. It read 'Mental Health part 2'.
"Hello, everyone," Aizawa said as he walked into the room. " Today we are going to continue talking about mental health. It's very important, plus I need to check everyone's wrists. Us teachers need to make sure you're okay."
Bakugou tensed up. He couldn't show everyone. They'd just hate him more and think he was weak!
"Okay, let's get started-" "Can I go to the bathroom?" Bakugou interrupted.
"You're sixteen, hold it."
'That didn't work. At least I'll go last, seeing how Aizawa-sensei wants to spite me for interrupting him.'
He called three people up at a time, leaving Bakugou to go by himself.
"Bakugou, you're up."
Bakugou started shaking as he slowly got out of his seat, feeling everyone's eyes on him as he walked to the front.
Bakugou pulled up his sleeves about an inch.
"Bakugou, higher than that. At least your elbows." Aizawa said.
"I-I don't...want to..." Bakugou muttered.
"Let's go outside then. You'll still have to show me." Aizawa whispered to him before turning to the class. "I'll be right back. Don't do anything stupid."
When they walked out there Aizawa kneeled down to Bakugou's level, which was pretty short, seeing as he was the second shortest in the class, just after Tsuyu.
"Please show me. I won't get mad, but I will have to get you help."
Bakugou nodded, tears forming in his eyes as he pulled up his left sleeve.
"Bakugou..." Aizawa trailed off, shocked that the explosive boy felt like this.
Bakugou pulled his sleeves down and didn't reply.
Aizawa snapped out of it and got up. "Go to Recovery Girl. I'll be there after class, okay?" He nodded.
As soon as Bakugou turned the corner, he started running out of the school. Like hell, he was going to stay there.
