Work Text:

It's odd, blank sound can still imitate noise. A small annoyance constantly ring in the ear. Dirt kicked and turned, buildings submerged with the world, devastation captured the eye. Blood, oozing to water the soil, a river of crimson pooling from wounded Heroes and Villains.

Funny, they all bleed red.

Except for one.

Izuku shook; blood boiling under his feet eradicated by his own fluorescent green concoction of toxic blood. Knee's weighted to the ground, eyes spilling a lighter green substituted for tears. He held himself shaking to each flickering image.

His friends.

His friends.

A pained cry cracked the ash littering sky like lightning. Izuku’s eyes snapped to the sound. His lip's quivered under the green goop leak from his stained gloves. A muffled scream of his own responded, Izuku is cracking. Each spike of his sorrow leveled a new persistence of his quirk.

“ You could never hurt us Deku-kun! “

" I haven't expressed my gratitude publicly, but you understood the situation. I let my anger get the best of me. You saved my life. Thank you Midoriya. “

“ You can pet the bunny Midoriya. “

“ Bro! That was AMAZING ! DUDE YOU MELTED A BUILDING!!! "

Izuku . My ice and fire can kill. Bakugo's explosions can kill . You can touch me without killing me . What you did with Stan saved our lives. Your a Hero. “

Izuku's eyes pulsed. Beautiful emerald colors infected the whites of his eyes, the white taking shelter in his pupil morphing into a deadly mint green. His iris mutated its shape, indescribable, becoming a smudge mess of black.

Shigaraki laughed at the young hero's struggle. Hand delicately lifting an arm, a pinky shy from disinication, and pressed harshly on the socket with his foot. Izuku couldn't move. He couldn't risk it.

He's already leaking radiation.

“ AAAAAHHH! “

Midoriya couldn't take it, “ Todoroki! “ Green gushed from his mouth.

Shigaraki laugh kicking, pleased with the display of Todoroki rolling down the rubble, Todoroki's barely conscious body. Izuku backed away.

He will only make it worse.

Only make it worse.

“ T-Tod-Todoroki… “ Get up. Get up.

His eyes flickered to Bakugo. He held strong for so long, body rested next to Karishma. Both, everyone, had so many wounds. They’re bones broken and the fight nearly ripping the very foundation of their city.

He made it worse.

He always makes things worse.

Shigaraki’s steps drew closer crunching earth and metal scraps. Izuku hugged his body.

“ Mi… Mi… Mi-dory..ah… “

Izuku looked up. Todoroki looked at him. His gaze never left him. His arms crooked unnaturally and legs nearly unusable.

So much blood.

So much Red.

“ Do you care for him? “ Shigaraki mocked delivering a harsh kick to Todoroki's bruising side.

“ Stop it. “

“ You cared for the other one too. “ Shigaraki turned to Bakugo. “ But that power is better for us. “ He chuckled kneeling down to Izuku. His head tilted, like a curious cat, and dry cracking lips curved to a devious grin. “ What would happen if he just…. “ Shigaraki inched closer hand gripping Todoroki’s neck, “ Disappeared . “

“ NO! “ A stockwave knocked Shigaraki back.

Shockwave, after shockwave Izuku fueled its power with desperate jumbled words. The smudge black of Izuku's eyes moved, worming their way into a clear unfinished masterpiece. The wounded forced to ride each wave, lucky those on the ground were spared such an agonizing titlewave. Shigaraki cackled like a child to the site. His hands out stretch to the wonderful view. Hero's on their knee to such raw power he released.

Finally, he won.

“ Kurogiri. “ Shigaraki smiled to his fellow villain. Trusted and always by is side, his favorite side companion to accompany him in battle. “ Get the other's out. The rest will take care of itself. “ He chuckled, “ Game over. Game over. “ Hysterical to the the game logic of the Hero's losing. “ Game over Heros! “

Kurogiri did not listen to the company. Yellow eyes captivated by the cite. The boy's quirk is a powerfully dangerous double edge sword. Kurogiri observed their allies and fellow Villains. How much blood will be spilt for this game to truly end? Villains have no lines, no morals, no reason but their selfish own. His eyes caught Shigaraki. What was next for this childish villain? What game will fascinate him next? What will be thrown away in order to complete this quest? Fellow companions, teachers, supplies?

In the river of boiling blood, Kurogiri saw the line.

This is no longer a simple game.

The boy's quirk is nuclear power plant. The emotions of distress, sadness, and fright pull this hazardous power into reality. Emotions are tricky, everything is uniquely equipped to the moral code of that particular person.

Eventually, one will have

.

.

A Meltdown

Kurogiri looked at the city. Everything, everything will be destroyed. Nothing will survive this boy's meltdown. The core of his will already spiraling further into depression and desperation. Kurogiri looked into the boy's eyes, a biohazard label stared back.

Freckled skin dripping off the bone. Bone's mimicked uranium pooling in biohazardous liquid. Hair wisping around igniting green flames. His hands shaking, trying to keep the dripping flesh shield in place.

“ Kurogiri. Get our guys out of here! “ Shigaraki ordered.

“ I am sorry. “ The word's left empty. “ But I have a much bigger priority. “

Kurogiri rushed down to Midoriya. The heat, the cancer, and -dear god- the pain. Kurogiri felt sick, weak and utterly a true sack of rotting flesh.

He howled in torment.

Midoriya cried slipping from the world. Kurogiri barely had the strength, but he succeeded. Far away from the city. Far away from the country. Kurogiri could rest easy in his hellish gievence. Midoriya reached out a soft, sad smile longing to apologize. Kurogiri only heard two simple sweet words,

“ Thank you. “

In the distances as Hero's helped each other, and Villains escaping a bright cloud erupted. The light shined like the sun, a deadly dawn of a new day.

Villains will be caught.

Heros will be healed.

Deku will be found.

The morning brought by that cloud, and the heroic action of one unlikely Villain brought momentary peace. Even if time allowed this era of peace to be only this waking hour; they will enjoy it fully.
