Seasons

Summary:

Where Hoseok changes seasons with a snap of his fingers, Yoongi curses with all of his love and affection, and they both date on a cloud.

Work Text:

“Fuck you!” Yoongi laughs while elbowing Hoseok ribs. His feet are dangling down the cloud. His bang is sticking to his forehead. One of his hands is tugging the seam of his clothes and his eyes are turning into two crescents—maybe because of the bright light of the sun, or maybe because of the big smile that he is sporting on his face.

“What?” Hoseok laughs, too. “You asked me to change the season. I did. Why do I get a curse instead?”

“I was thinking of spring. Something nice. Not summer,” Yoongi says, still with his gummy smile. His mirth. His giddiness. “It’s hot. Too hot.”

“Spring is boring,” Hoseok teases. He snaps his fingers and the sun sets in the corner of their eyes. Their cloud shakes and turns into ashy grey. The wind gusts through them and it’s cold.

It’s winter.

“Really,” Yoongi says in between his laughter. “Fuck you, Hoseok-ah. Summer and now winter?”

Hoseok giggles. “What’s wrong with winter?”

“No one likes winter, Seok-ah,” Yoongi wipes his already runny nose, “It’s freezing.”

“I like winter,” Hoseok says quietly, pulling Yoongi closer to himself and making a warm cloud envelop them both. “It’s my favorite.”

Yoongi snorts but snuggles closer to Hoseok. “Why?”

Hoseok smiles and lands a small kiss on the top of Yoongi’s head.

“Because we first met on a winter.”

Yoongi stays quiet. He closes his eyes and sinks into Hoseok’s embrace, picturing the day when they first met.

It was freezing.

It was winter.

But Hoseok was there.

And Yoongi was in love.

Maybe—just maybe—Yoongi likes winter too.
