Work Text:
Yoongi wakes up in his father’s arms still when the lady tells them they are going to land soon. “Heard that, Yoongi? We’re in Paris”
Yoongi yaws, brushing his eyes and nodding. Paris doesn’t sound super but his daddy has been talking about it since forever so he’ll entertain him.
Jeongguk waits for his baby to be fully awake and gives him some water before carefully sitting him beside and strap him to his seat. Yoongi immediately grabs his hand tight. Flying is a new thing for him and despite telling daddy he isn’t scare, Jeongguk knows better.
“Nothing to worry about, baby!” Jeongguk assures him again, Yoongi nods, still feeling sleepy.

Jimin grabs Namjoon’s little hand closing his eyes, trying to relax as much as possible while the plane descends. His six year old smart boy tells him to breathe and that everything is okay. Oh, what would he do without him? But you’re super strong mommy, Namjoon would say.
Namjoon continues talking to keep Jimin’s mind occupy, “…obviously we have to go to the Eiffel Tower. We aren’t signed to a tour but I have been searching in your phone and I already picked the best places mommy. I can be our tour guide.”
“I know you can, darling. I trust you.”
Namjoon smiles wide, cute dimples making Jimin coo at how cute. “The cutest, smartest boy”
“Mommy!” he always shrieks embarrassed, pink dusting his cheeks.
And like that the airplane lands and soon enough they are on their way out to get some rest from the travel first thing first.

Le Bristol Paris Hotel, with its spa, rooftop pool and perfect service is turning out to be not what Jeongguk has expected when looking for the best in the city.
Yoongi watches him unamused, eyes narrowing. Jeongguk knows he’s in big trouble. “It’s not a big deal, baby. Someone must have confused your suitcase with this one, just let me call the reception and they will handle it quickly.” Because it had to be in there, he’s almost sure they had the right one when leaving the airport. Jeongguk is ready to beg, anything is better than having his baby crying.
Yoongi is still on the floor, sitting in front of the BT21 RJ suitcase full of…things that aren’t his, like books and pencils and an ugly plushy. Yoongi lowers his gaze to the contents then back up at his daddy. He wants his shooky pajamas and chimmy blanket now.
Now.
“…Daddy” he says in a whisper, his lower lip wobbles. “Wh–”
“Here!” he offers him his iPhone, knowing Yoongi likes to go through the pictures or listen to music. “Play with this while daddy looks for your suitcase. No need to cry. Please don’t cry.”
Yoongi hesitates but takes it, seeming appeased for now.
♥
Jimin is about to head to the reception when finds a member of the staff about to knock on the door. With his very poor English skills he manages to communicate with the man, relieved they already seem aware of the suitcase switch and even more so when he says he should head to the reception with the wrong one for the exchange to make sure everything is okay.
“Mommy I think this belongs to a baby” Namjoon approaches him holding a yellow blanket.
“Joonie-ah, you’re a baby too”
“I’m serious!”
“Let’s go get your luggage back”
Namjoon hums, looking for his shoes that he ditched as soon as they got in the room.
When they get to the elevator they hear someone yelling before managing to stop the doors for closing shoving their hand in between, Jimin smiles at the guy carrying a baby and a suitcase. They baby seems amazed and absorbed on the phone in his tiny hands. How cute.
Namjoon, by his side starts tugging on his jeans once the doors close.
“Yes, baby?” the toddler points softly to the suitcase the man is holding on his other hand. “Oh”
Jimin straightens, clears his throat. At first glance the guy looks Korean so Jimin speaks naturally, trying his luck. “Eh, are you perhaps going to the lobby for this?” and he brings up the suitcase on his own hand.
“Oh”
“Hello mister” Namjoon waves, “And baby” Yoongi doesn’t spare him a glance, “Can I have my suitcase back, please? I want to shower.”
Jeongguk, taken aback for a moment, can’t help but smile realizing the situation. Their trip is already filling with funny stories for when they go back.
♥
Jeongguk almost trips with his own feet when he hurries to catch on Jimin and Namjoon once he spots them. In this foreign place they are the only ones Jeongguk feels like he is not miles away from home. It’s a trip after all but everyone gets homesick and he can’t help himself cringing every time he tries speaking in English with someone else and god, his limited French accent is the worst.
“Hey!” Namjoon notices him first, tugging quickly on Jimin’s coat to call for his attention as well.
Jeongguk crosses the street with Yoongi under his arm holding tightly on his cone, Yoongi whines at been rudely pulled away from his ice cream when his daddy hauled him up to do god knows what. “Rude daddy!” he says as much.
“Sorry, baby!”
“Oh, hello!” Jimin looks stunned, not having expected to meet them so soon or again.
“Hi!” Jeongguk says lowering Yoongi. “Are you guys going on a tour?” Yoongi goes back to his ice-cream watching Namjoon with narrowing eyes. The older kid feeling a little intimidated holding his mom’s hand steps behind his leg for comfort.
“Oh, no.” Jimin covers his mouth looking down, he smiles watching Yoongi making cute faces, he tries to hold himself back but is futile. He has always been weak to cuteness. He soon kneels down, “Hello there! You’re Yoongi, right?” the toddler nods, “Remember me from yesterday?” he nods again, “Yah, you’re so cute. Can I pinch your cheeks?”
“Mommy!” Namjoon calls somehow embarrassed.
“But he’s so cute Namjoon-ah”
“You’re a mommy?” Yoongi finally talks back to him. Jeongguk tenses above him, no one notices his eyes widening. Jimin tilts his head nodding slowly. The four years old demeanor changes in the next five seconds, taking a step showing his gums in the widest smile and offering his cheeks to Jimin. “Pinch! Pinch!”
“Wah! So cute!” Jimin even kisses him.
Jeongguk sighs in relief; his little boy sometimes can be a handful of weird emotions all over the place or just a little angel.
“We didn’t sign for any tour either. I just thought it would be better if we see everything for ourselves so I researched a lot” He pulls his phone out. “Got all here”
Namjoon shows him his small blue notebook where he has been practicing his writing skills and where he messily wrote the names of places he searched too. “Such a smart boy” Jeongguk pats his head flustering him but gaining a smile in return.
“Would you two like to come with us to meet the city?” Jeongguk dares to ask looking up at Jimin. It would be better if he and Yoongi aren’t by themselves and honestly their company is something he wouldn’t mind have around.
Jimin stops for a moment to think where the catch is because he suddenly has out of nowhere a handsome guy with a cute baby asking him if he would like to meet the supposedly most romantic city in the world with their kids in tow –it got to be a prank.
And come on, would he seriously say no?
“…I guess we could”
After knowing they are both from Seoul and are going to stay for almost the same time span, Jimin and Namjoon for 5 days while Jeongguk and little Yoongi the whole week, they agreed to let the most iconic place for last, the Eiffel Tower of course.
“Can we go to this museum first?” Namjoon points at the Louvre Museum in a pamphlet he got at the Hotel. “Mommy? Mr. Jeongguk?”
The raven laughs, “You can just call me hyung, Namjoon-ah” he winks at him. “It’s okay for both of us, right Yoongi?”
Yoongi barely hears him, occupy with paying his undivided attention to Jimin, whom is a mommy, and who is currently helping him to finish his ice-cream because he suddenly can’t hold it by himself anymore.
Yoongi has always wanted to have a mommy by himself; his daddy seems to have forgotten about that.
While they are walking to their destination, Namjoon gives up in trying getting his mom’s attention from the baby so with a little pout he hurries his steps and grabs Jeongguk’s hand when they approach an intersection, “Mr. Jeongguk–” Oh, no. He shakes his head, “Hyung!”
Jeongguk smiles, “Yes?”
“I think your baby is trying to steal my mom”
Jeongguk splutters at the comment caught out of guard, he looks backs and sees Jimin cleaning Yoongi’s mouth with a napkin. “Sorry, champ!” he crouches down a little and brings Namjoon up in his arms before crossing the street. Jimin is smiling by their side. “Can you keep a secret?” he whispers to the boy, Namjoon nods, “Yoongi just likes moms a lot since he doesn’t have one.”
“Oh no!”
“But don’t worry I’ll make sure he gives him back”
Namjoon shakes his head again, “No, mommy can be his mommy too while we’re here.” He nods now understanding and thinking how sad it must be.
Namjoon can’t imagine what that must feel. Not having one of his parents since he has always had his mommy. His father he sees sometimes, once a month if he’s lucky according to what his mommy tells uncle Taehyung when he thinks Namjoon isn’t listening.
“I have a dad but mommy divorced him and I don’t see him lots. You can be my daddy while we’re here too.”
Jeongguk’s heart either explodes or squeezes “Look at those cute dimples!” he says instead. Namjoon giggles.
“I think we exchanged kids” Jimin bumps into his arm, Yoongi clinging to his neck.
“It seems…”
At the museum, Namjoon gets excited about every single thing inside because he has been looking up about the place since a while ago. He basically explains to them all exhibitions and looks like his little life has been fulfilled. Jeongguk invites pastries when they are out, giving the boy the biggest one. They talk about their life back in Korea too.
Namjoon also takes every chance he gets to speak with Yoongi and little by little the younger boy start opening up to him.
Jeongguk enjoys the situation fully but still dreading the time when they have to split but these are just going to be more good memories hard to forget.
Next is the Cathédrale Notre-Dame which Yoongi says is spooky while Namjoon says is pretty, they have lunch close to the Place de la Concorde where they take a stroll after before going back to the Hotel agreeing to see the Luxembourg Gardens by the next day.
♥
For dinner Jeongguk asks for room service while Yoongi whines in the background standing against the closed door holding his shoes for his daddy to please let him go see the mommy.
It does pain Jeongguk every time Yoongi says the word since he learned about it at the school. There had also been some awkward situations in the past, but he has learned to handle it so far. This though, this is getting quite out of hands.
Yoongi seems more eager than any of the previous times.
“It’s not appropriate baby. They are probably–”
And Yoongi does that thing where he slowly frowns, lips going up in a pout, whole face scrunching up ready to…cry. And Jeongguk can handle everything but oh god, not the crying.
Jeongguk thinks first he’s been creepy but then again Jimin didn’t seem abhor to the idea of spending time with them, so he now wonders if he has the right room number; Jimin gave it to him earlier but he could have heard wrong.
He lets Yoongi knock on the door while he gathers the rest of his courage and holds the bag of cookies in one hand and a two liters apple juice in the other that he got on the store across the street from the building because he didn’t want to go there with his hands empty but he still didn’t know what would be appropriate. He’s still unsure of what he is doing unlike his little baby that seems to have a goal in mind.
Jimin opens the door.
“Up! Up!” Yoongi demands having the blond complying easily.
“Hey there baby! What a lovely surprise!”
Jeongguk freezes for a second watching the two of them and then feeling embarrassed because seriously, what can he say now? “I’m so sorry if we are been nuisances coming unannounced. I–”
“It’s ok, Jeongguk. We’re not doing anything. Joonie was just showering after dinner. Nothing to do until tomorrow.” He invites in. “The garden’s date is still up, right?”
Date? Jeongguk almost lets the cookies fall. “Yes!”
“Are you guys dating?” Namjoon asks from behind Jimin.
“What?” Jimin’s eyes widen. “You got me wrong, darling!”
“We are all going there” Jeongguk adds though his words end up more on the tones of a question.
Namjoon tilts his head, looking at the two flustered adults. “Okay”
They both currently live in Seoul but Jimin is from Busan, Jeongguk is from Busan too. They spent a crazy amount of time talking about the city and their families while the kids play around. Also about how Jimin and Namjoon got the plane tickets from his best friend Taehyung who couldn’t make it in time with his boyfriend; they both work in the entertainment industry, and how Jeongguk spent three months planning it while Yoongi ignored him about it until they got into the airport and it was real for him.
They settled to watch a children movie until Namjoon and Yoongi fall asleep next to each other and the bag of cookies is empty. Jeongguk thanks him once again but Jimin says he has spent a good time too and can’t wait for tomorrow.
♥
The Luxembourg Gardens are gorgeous. Jeongguk sits on one of the chairs spread out for visitors letting Yoongi run behind Namjoon towards the large adorned octagonal fountain. They both know to not go in the water. Jimin sits by his side.
“I know we’re strangers but since our kids are playing like they have been friends since forever, can I ask more about you?”
“I’m thirty-four” Jeongguk leans back on his hands, the rows of flowerbeds are stunning but suddenly all he wants to see is Jimin’s face. “I’m a boring business man” he has learned to never let out his position in the company because they are always people with agendas getting closer to him but he doesn’t think he has to be that careful with Jimin. “A friend of mine and I founded the company ten years ago”
“Wow! That’s not boring, silly.” Jimin hits him gently on the shoulder. “You do seem like a serious guy with his goals set.”
“I try” Jeongguk also enjoys the inanest things too.
“Not married?”
An inner part in Jeongguk’s brain adores the question because it means Jimin’s at least curious, he shakes his head, “Yoongi’s mother was just a fling, she had him but as soon as she did she gave him to me and disappeared. Last time I checked she got married.”
“Oh.” Jimin looks back at their kids, Yoongi touching a flower Namjoon is showing him, probably telling him some story he either made up or read somewhere. “I got married once and I win. I’m thirty-five.” He winks Jeongguk chuckles. “But Namjoon’s dad turned out to be a real asshole so it has been basically only the two of us since always. I can count with one hand the times the jerk has showed up this year and we’re in October, though it does sadden me that Namjoon can’t have that bond.” Nonetheless his little boy always tells him that he only needs him.
“What a stupid loser” Jeongguk groans, “Becoming a father has been the best thing I have ever done and I can tell already Namjoon must be a great kid”
“Yah! He’s the best! I couldn’t have asked for better! Also, I’m a kindergarten teacher and I’ll assure you it isn’t boring at all. Some kids are crazy, like in a funny way.”
Yoongi runs back to them offering Jimin the flower. Jimin loves the color.
“What about me?” Jeongguk fakes a pout.
Yoongi looks to think about it, running away before coming back with another. “Love you too, daddy!” and then he is back with Namjoon on their way to the swings.
“Ow” Jimin feels attacked. Jeongguk certainly is every time Yoongi does something of the likes.
“There’s a Café close by, we can go later. My treat!”
“It’s always your treat”
Jeongguk leans down into Jimin’s space to get a sniff at the pretty flower, “I’m a gentleman” he looks up and winks.
Jimin feels like fainting or hit him for a second there but catches himself. “Ok, but we have to buy those miniature sailboats for the kids first. It’s a must do for children here.”
♥
“This supposed to be the highest point in Paris”
Jeongguk says holding Namjoon’s hand once they step foot in the Basilique Sacré-Coeur.
Yoongi looks around in awe from Jimin’s arms, giving Jimin back the sunglasses he asked earlier as soon as he saw them.
They spend some time on the terrace admiring the view of the city in the morning, before climbing to the tower for an even higher perspective which turns out to be better for the thousands pictures they take.
“We should come here at night too if we can”
“We should…”
They go after to the Palais-Royal where they spend the rest of the day, going to one of the restaurant in there for lunch and to the Cafés every time Yoongi gets thirsty of walking around. Jeongguk ends up buying a water bottle he has to carry the rest of the day until they leave and Jimin takes it for him to carry now both sleeping kids in his arms back into the Hotel, but they surely have fun.

On their fifth day after taking a boat cruise along the Seine River in the morning, Jeon Jeongguk, after taking an exhilarating elevator ride to the top most level, can testify that the Eiffel Tower is as magnificent as everyone says it is. He is also very happy he can experience this with Yoongi… and Jimin and Namjoon.
He is also happy none of them seem dizzy because of the 276 meters high, on the contrary. Jimin, by his side, is holding onto Namjoon and Yoongi for them not to step any further into the railings, he can’t stop smiling while trying to take pictures even with his hands full.
And then…
Suddenly…
“Mommy, look!”
Jimin looks down as soon as he hears the words, heart hammering against his chest, Jeongguk’s eyes widen too because those were not Namjoon’s words who is biologically and by law the only one allowed to call Jimin like that.
Yoongi looks up, smiling widely, body thrumming with excitement, hands holding onto Jimin’s coat, “Mommy look! Look!” he points at the show of lights across but Jimin can only look at him.
Fuck… Jeongguk bites the inside of his mouth before searching for Jimin’s face. The blond though, kneels down, “They are really pretty, Yoongi-ah. Do you like them too, Joonie?”
The boy, visibly taken aback as well, nods and proceeds with intertwining his arm with Yoongi’s turning around, “Let’s move there, Yoonginie. We can see them better.”
They enjoy a gourmet meal at the Jules Verne Restaurant on the second level of the structure, Jeongguk’s treat of course. In there, the waitress praises him on having such a lovely family. Jimin looks up because she might have spoken on English but he definitely got that. Jeongguk only thanks her looking straight at Jimin’s eyes, enjoying the faint pink covering his cheeks after.
It’s kind of funny that Jimin decides to be bashful just now, after all.
“…Hey! You guys wanna go to Disneyland?” Jeongguk asks once they’re on the ground again. “My treat!” He only hears Namjoon’s and Yoongi’s yes while going to hail a cab. On the way there Jimin takes his hand and doesn’t let go.
In Disneyland Jeongguk can only watch as Yoongi beams the happiest while having fun in the rides but also while enjoying been in the company of Jimin and Namjoon. And just for a moment, when Yoongi calls Jimin mommy again while holding Namjoon’s hand, he thinks what a lovely family picture that would be.
♥
Jimin thinks Paris is just a Dreamland. A beautiful but evil Dreamland.
He can’t help but think when he gets back and the only thing he is going to be able to talk about to Taehyung is everything he learned about Yoongi and Jeongguk. He doubts Namjoon isn’t in the same situation as him. The boy looking gloom since they left the Hotel after saying their goodbyes in the lobby. Jimin feared for a moment he would start crying just like Yoongi but the boy kept it together.
On his part, little Yoongi had clung to him while shedding tears telling not to go. Jeongguk had to separate them for Jimin to be able to get into the cab that was waiting with Namjoon.
And fuck, that stupid Jeon Jeongguk and his stupid handsome face and his stupid lips that found their way to Jimin’s in the briefest goodbye kiss after the warmest hug.
But that’s just life.
Jimin is still bitter about it though.
Sometimes is just isn’t what you want and you just have to deal with it and take what you can.
“The plane is going to take off soon, please wear your–” Jimin tones out the woman doing as she says and holding onto Namjoon’s hand.
It’s half an hour into the flight when Jimin hears it– hears him.
“Do you know how hard was to get into this plane in such short notice?”
Someone whispers in Jimin’s ear from behind, the blond turns around slowly, heart not believing it but his brain knows that voice can only belong to–
“Mommy!”
Jeongguk straightens up while Yoongi by his side hurriedly goes to climb in Jimin’s lap, holding tight onto him. Namjoon looks as stunned as him when he notices their presences.
“…Jeongguk”
“We had to pack like crazies” he start numbering with his fingers, “Lost Yoongi twice at the airport because he was trying to get to you quickly. Had to pay for the most expensive first class tickets but I get to see you so…”
“Oh my god!”
It had taken them less than a minute to figure out that they didn’t want to spend more time in there if they weren’t with Jimin and Namjoon and Jeongguk just knew that if he had to go after Jimin it had to be now.
Yoongi crosses his arms around Jimin’s necks, timidly waving at Namjoon. “Hi Joonie”
“Hi baby” Namjoon thinks Yoongi’s gummy smile is the cutest.
And yes, Jimin gets up from his seat leaving Yoongi down and kisses Jeongguk hard.
♥
Jeongguk and Yoongi have left to Paris as just the two of them, just like Jimin and Namjoon, but now they are coming back to Seoul together with the possibility and gleaming hope of a better future.
