Apollo, My Herdman

Summary:

Bakugou, Apollo, god of the Sun is to serve a lowly, idiot king as punishment due to his 'wrongdoings'.
Kirishima, an 'idiot king' that has too much love for his kingdom, is given the chance to have a god work for him.

Bakugou hears the rumors, the gossip that runs in Olympus, that the king of Pherae is far too nice to be at all a good king, far too trusting and far too welcoming to live long. But as the quick year goes by, Bakugou realizes that Kirishima is far more than what the rumors say.

Also, that smile, that beautiful smile rivals that big stupid Sun.

Chapter 1: Part 1

Chapter Text

His light blond hair that shines with radiance is familiar to all those in Olympus. His red eyes burn as severely as the year’s harshest summers. He has talent on almost every subject, he is also very much known for his steady hands and quick temper. For his smartass comments and harsh honestly.

Bakugou is the god of light, music and poetry, art even and so much more. Apollo, was what the other gods called him. Apollo, and without him, the world will fall into darkness.

He kills a monster, a serpent. A dragon.

Some say he wanted control of the oracular site, some say it was to revenge his mother. Others even had said that it was just destiny, that Delphyna, the serpent monster, had seen her future, and even tried to prevent what was to come by making sure Bakugou never came to the world by killing his mother when the young god was born.

Although, if she ever had a vision, it came to be true with a hundred arrows. She wasn’t an easy opponent, Bakugou would give her that, but in the end she was just another body on the ground that once wanted Bakugou gone.

The only story that wasn’t rumored was the actual truth, where Bakugou had fallen in love, with another mortal, Coronis, loved her and even gave her a child. But as soon as she was pregnant she had fallen in love with another man, another mortal.

Which Bakugou still wonders about. With all the knowledge that he has, the intelligence and the truth he still wonders what a mortal man was able to give her that a god like him could not.

To the point, Bakugou’s anger was only quenched when he had killed the woman but saved the child that was still in her womb for he had no reason to die, less so for his mother's misdemeanor. Although he was unfit to take care of an infant, of a mortal baby, and so he turned to the one person he could trust. Chiron, or as some call Aizawa. A centaur who raised many, a centaur who has more wisdom than Bakugou could ever contain despite being an immortal.

Bakugou leaves the child in Chiron’s care, and never visits him. He isn’t deemed to be a father, and his heart is empty after the betrayal of his mother. Camie, Artemis, his older sister constantly nags him to visit, but he ignores her lectures as much as he ignores the feeling of warmth he has for the boy.

So, when he gets the news that Zeus, that fucker, has struck the boy with one of his lighting bolts, stopping his heart there and then, soul leaving for the underworld far from him his sights, Bakugou did what he could.

There was no possible way that he, Apollo, could kill his father Zeus, so he opted for the next best thing, kill the thing that created those unstoppable lightening bolts. The weapon the killed his beloved son.

Typhon, Phyton, Cyclops, Kyklopes Delphyna, the fucking dragon serpent with too many fucking names was killed by his arrows alone.

Her death was one of the most satisfying he had relished in. Although that enjoyment and relief was soon over as he was summoned to Olympus, to face the fucking consequences of his actions.

Bakugou walked up the mountain, watching the rest of the gods watch him continue his walk to the front of Zeus's throne. He swears he sees Camie with the shake of her head, but he doesn’t turn his eyes to watch her.

He sees Hades at Zeus’s side, watching with a bored expression, like his time was being wasted. Like it wasn’t his fucking fault his son was dead, that fucker probably told Zeus what was going on, and even gladly took his son’s soul into the depth of the underworld without telling him exactly why he died.

Zeus banishes him to Tartarus, the exact same abyss where extremely wicked assholes were to lay and suffer for eternally. It’s also the famous prison of the titans that Zeus had imprisoned himself. A place where Bakugou never expected to end up.

He’s as surprised as the rest of the gods who watch the interaction go on, gasps and questions are starting to fill their thoughts at the strange punishment. The life Bakugou took was most definitely not worth a ticket to abyss, and his job here on the land was far too important for him to just be disregarded like a lesser, minor god.

Leto, goddess of motherhood, cried to Zeus, telling him all what the rest of the gods and goddesses were thinking. The world would end, what they had created would fall if Apollo were to be stored, locked up and away in that fucking abyss.

Camie looks frighten, hope fills her eyes as she watches her mother try to convince her father for a lesser punishment for her brother.

Bakugou stays silent, as a god of knowledge he knows when to stay quiet. He feels smartass comments at the tip of his tongue, wits that would humiliate Zeus so quick, Bakugou would have no chance of receiving a lesser punishment.

So, he stays with his mouth shut, just hoping the old fucking man can be convinced already so he can spit out all what he was holding in to a deer willing to offer him a ear in the middle of a forest where Zeus isn’t paying any mind.

Eventually Zeus is persuaded, to the relief of many. Though, he was glad for a lesser punishment he was still completely struck at what Zeus tells him.

“I have to fucking what?” He asks Camie, grabbing and pulling his light colored hair.

Camie rolls her eyes, and lays back against the most luscious, and deep champagne colored sheets. “Just be glad he didn’t send you to the abyss.”

“He did send me to the fucking abyss.”

“Yes, but now you don’t have to go.”

“Yeah, like it’s still a fucking option.” Bakugou mutters, but he’s quick to go back to his tantrum, “Fuck, this is so humiliating, so fucking disgraceful, I am a god for fuck’s sake! I am no servant, I am not a slave, and I am a god who is far superior to mortals, superior than any fucking demigod, or those lesser gods, I am Apollo!” He paces back and forth, Camie gives up following him with her eyes and stares at her sharp nails.

“You’ll only be a servant for a year Bakugou, I don’t know if you remember, but mortal years go by so quick, you’ll blink, and it’ll pass. No one is even going to remember it ever happened.” Camie tries to reason with him, hoping her brother could just shut up already and get the year done with.

“This is what everyone is going to fucking talking about for the next eon.” He drones, but Camie was right, this was only a year, a year of embrassment for him, and if he goes now, he’ll be back in no time, in no fucking time, like it never even happened.

“You know, I think it was an even lesser punishment since he let you pick who you can serve.” She pulls herself off the blankets below her, pushing her legs together, and to the side, “Who did you even end up picking anyway?”

Bakugou stops his rambling and looks over to Camie who looks at him with anticipation, like what was happening to Bakugou was the most interesting thing that she currently has going on.

“Don’t you have some important shit to tend to? Like fight bears or some shit?”

“Shut up and stop avoiding the question, who did you pick?” she scoots closer, her eyes widening in delight.

Rolling his eyes, Bakugou looks out her balcony, slightly covered by white drapes that are being held together by thick green vines.

“The idiot one, King Kirishima or some shit.”

“Oh, I heard of him, they say he’s very beautiful, rivals the beauty of a god” Camie wiggles her eyebrows at him, but the man doesn’t turn to watch her.

There was more to him, and Camie knows it. Bakugou didn’t choose him because he was pleasing to look at. He chose him because, well, because he was an idiot. There are rumors, gossip even in Olympus, without the mortals to entertain them, they would surely have died of boredom.

Kirishima Eijirou, a young king given the throne after his parents had passed. He was, as Camie implies, handsome. He was also a generous king, a kind king, a loving king. A trustful, gullible king. He fought in the side of justice, was a fair man who seeks only for what is right.

Bakugou thinks he can trick the young king, telling him his case and having Kirishima agree that he was only bringing justice to his son. Persuade the man that he shouldn’t be a servant, that he doesn’t deserve the unfair punishment. Then maybe he can just live in the man’s castle for a year without so much lifting a finger, so he can lounge around.

And if the king was so easily convinced, then maybe Bakugou could offer him a hand when Kirishima needs it most. Maybe in a war, or when his kingdom is under a plague, maybe he can offer Kirishima some pointers about being a king, or if he was stupid enough give him a few music lessons and call it a deal.

When Bakugou arrives in a forest, ready to depart, he calls for a forest dweller. As he waits he thinks back to what Camie told him just before he left her domain.

“The kingdom loves him you know, take advantage of him and you’ll have an entire kingdom spitting in your shrines.”

“I’ll burn them to the ground.” He lies.

“What an ungrateful god you are.” She laughs.
