JIN AND NAMJOON'S HOUSE
“Jungkook ,baby ,please stop crying and eat something.” Jungkook’s face is red from crying.Jin keeps on bouncing the little 18 month old baby in his arms but nothing works .The child clearly needs his omega father but that is not possible.
“He needs Jimin.” Jin says in almost a whisper.
Namjoon sighs. “Maybe Yoongi can help.” He tries to reason.
“NO!” Jin says decisively .” I am not letting that man anywhere near my grandchild.”
“He is his father ,Jin. He clearly needs one of his parents…..and ……and you know our Minnie is not here.” Namjoon is on the verge of crying. Even Jin has unshed tears in his eyes. Their only child is no longer there. He is not there for his own child. But he also cannot let Yoongi near Jungkook either, the man who destroyed his son’s life. Jungkook deserves so much better.
Jin keeps on bouncing Jungkook and rubbing soothing circles on his back. Jungkook finally tires himself out and sleeps. Jin gently puts him in his crib. They had made a small nursery for Jungkook when Jimin came to their doorstep that fateful night ,crying.
Jin then goes to his mate .
“He needs his family Jin.” Namjoon says, once he sees his mate coming towards him.
“Well, his family doesn’t care about him! But we do! We can take care of him! We are his family too.” Jin was on the verge of crying again.
“For how long?” Namjoon asks.He did not want to give Jugkook back to Yoongi but no matter what he was the father and the pup needed his parents.
“As long as we can.” Jin was ready to fight anybody for his grandson. He would protect the little pup just like Jimin did.
“Jungkook is just like Jimin.” Namjoon says with a sad smile.
“He has his nose and he even pouts like him .” Jin smiles warmly, putting his head on his mate’s shoulder.
“I miss him so much.” A silent tear drops from Namjoon’s eyes.
“I still look at my phone for his messages. Whenever it rings , I just hope its him saying 'dad, what do I do with these brats ‘ or when he used to say ' I was never this difficult' and I used to reply 'you have no idea, Minnie'.... He was our little angel Joon. ” Jin finally lets himself go and starts crying. Namjoon rubs his back to calm Jin down.
“Did Tae or Hobi call ?” Namjoon finally asks .
Jin shakes his head in the negative.
“So they don’t care about their father or brother?” Namjoon growls. “What is wrong with those kids ?”
“How can you blame the children when the father is not concerned either.” Jin says. “He hasn’t called either. Not even once.”
“You are right Jin . Jungkook is better with us.Jimin gave that responsibility to us.We will protect him no matter what.” Namjoon’s voice was determined. This was his grandson. A little child who was suffering without being at fault. He would be his guardian. He would be his father.
YOONGI’S HOUSE
Yoongi was asleep on the couch . He had no idea how he got there. He just remembers coming home drunk and then basically falling on the couch. But right now he had a pillow under his head and a blanket over him. He is sure that this was Taehyung’s doing. His teenage omega son was his alpha father’s little star. Just as Yoongi is getting up, both Hoseok and Taehyung also come downstairs.
“Morning Appa.” Both of them say at the same time and then come to hug their dad.
“Morning my babies.” Yoongi says while gong to kitchen.
“Huh dad, we are not babies anymore. Only Jung….” Hoseok does not complete his sentence. Jungkook was a subject that was no longer mentioned in the min household. Taehyung looks at him with a disgust on his face.
“Don’t take his name.” Taehyung shakes his head and says in an annoyed voice. “Papa is not here because of him!” he says angrily.
Yoongi sighs. Taehyung was the only one who knew only half of the story but the two alphas knew everything. They could not tell Taehyung what had actually happened or it would break him apart completely.
“Don’t blame Jungkook , Tae. He is just a child. “ Yoongi finally says.
Tahehyung was confused as to why his father was taking Jungkook’s side ? If not for him , they would still have been a family. He would still have his father . He missed his dad dearly and now he would never be able to hug him again or tell him about his day or show him his paintings or eat any food made by him , just because of that child his dad was defending.
“Whatever, I gotta go.” He picks up his bag and prepares to leave .
“Tae! ” Yoongi calls . “Atleast have some breakfast.” He says warmly. He understands how difficult it is for the kids but he finds himself unable to do anything as a parent. Jimin would have known . Jimin always knew!
“ I’ll grab something on the way.” Saying this Taehyung closes the front door and leaves the house.
Yoongi looks at Hoseok , clearly asking for help.
“ He is just sad , Appa.” Hoseok finally says.
“Yeah, I know..…but he can’t go on behaving like this .” Yoongi says taking a deep breath. “ We …we also need to think something about Jungkook.”
“I don’t think granddad and grandpa would even let us near him.” Hoseok says.
“Well it’s not their decision to make. “ Yoongi growls.
“Neither would Tae be happy. Appa, we have to think this through.”
“ I….I just don’t know what to do anymore. ” Yoongi finally breaks down in front of his oldest son. ”Even……..even I don’t want to see Jungkook, but ….…but he is the last thing of Jimin we have.”He finally gathers himself takes a deep breath and says “ Eat your breakfast and go to school. And…please keep an eye on Tae. Also, Hobi , take care of yourself. I….I need my children to survive.” Yoongi says protectively and in a fatherly voice.
“I will, don’t worry. You take care too .” Hoseok gives him a reassuring smile. After a minute of debating with himself if he should ask or not he finally asks “ Would you call grandpa ?”
Yoongi looks like he is deliberately thinking something.
He answers “No. Taehyung comes first. Jungkook will be fine with them.”
Hoseok just nods. He is not happy with this decision so he decides that he would go to his grandparents house himself after school. There were a lot of unresolved things and even though nothing would ever be able to take away the pain , he did wish to right a few wrongs, for his father, for whom he cried himself to sleep last night, asking him to just come back once.
After school Hoseok goes to his grandparents house. Taehyung was fine at school. He saw him during lunch. He didn't talk to anybody though and just sat quietly. Children kept on whispering about how these were the kids who had lost their omega father but Hoseok tried to ignore them. It was none of their business anyway .
He nervously stands outside the door. His grandparents always spoiled him and Tae rotten but he was not sure where their relationship stood at this moment. He finally finds the courage to knock. A simple 'coming' is heard from the other side.
Namjoon opens the door and sees Hoseok on the other side. He gives him a warm smile.
"Hey granddad. " Hoseok says a bit nervously.
"Hobi, my child." Namjoon says enthusiastically and hugs him. "Come on in."
Jin comes with Jungkook in his arms and sees his grandson. He is happy to see Hoseok. Maybe there is still some hope for Jungkook after all if Hoseok was there.
"Hey grandpa." Hoseok says with a smile.
"How are you Hobi? Did you eat anything? Let me make something. Namjoon hold Jungkook for a second." Jin says warmly. Namjoon comes and takes Jungkook from Jin.
He sits with Jungkook on his lap and Hoseok sits besides him. Jungkook curiously looks at Hoseok and then giggles. He tries to leave Namjoon's lap to go to Hoseok.
He is finally able to crawl from one end of the couch to the other towards Hoseok. He pats his lap and then finally sits there. Namjoon just patiently watches this exchange whereas Hoseok feels a bit uncomfortable. He has no idea what he should do with such a small child. So he just holds Jungkook, a bit reluctantly, so that he doesn't fall. Jungkook on the other hand grabs his hand and tries to put it in his mouth. Hoseok laughs a bit at this gesture and then says a light 'No'. Jungkook pouts. Seeing his father's pout Hoseok's smile vanishes and he realizes again why he came here in the first place. He places Jungkook at the side of the couch again. Jungkook is not very happy to leave a comfortable lap and starts crying. Namjoon goes and picks him up and starts bouncing him lightly. Jin comes back with some snacks and seeing a crying Jungkook takes him from Joon. He sits at the other end of the couch with him, lightly bouncing him all the while .
Seeing the tense atmosphere Jin finally says "You know Hobi. When Tae and you were young, you both used to fight so much that one day Jimin had to call us and asked to take one of you away. When you both were away from each other for a day, you both cried so much that we had to reunite you again." He chuckles at the memory.
" I remember missing Tae grandpa. Don't remember the fighting though. " Hoseok smiles back.
" How is he doing? " Namjoon asks.
" Same. " Hoseok says sadly.
" Listen Hobi, tell Yoongi that we won't give Jungkook back until we know that he would be loved there. " Jin says.
Hoseok sighs." We don't need Jungkook back..... At least not yet. I'm here for something else."
Jin and Namjoon look at him with shocked expressions.What did he mean that they didn't need Jungkook back. Jin looks at him, confused. Hoseok continues" I wanna know why would he do it? Why didn't he leave? "
" YOU VERY WELL KNOW WHAT CAUSED HIM TO DO WHAT HE DID MIN HOSEOK. DON'T PLAY INNOCENT HERE. "Jin snaps. This sudden anger startles Jungkook and he starts crying again. Jin gets up trying to calm the pup down. " I'm taking him inside Joonie. Finish this conversation!" saying this he leaves.
Namjoon is beyong angry too. " He tried protecting Jungkook but you are just disrespecting his efforts by not accepting Jungkook. "
" Taehyung comes first! " Hoseok says in a determined voice. "He is your grandson too, just like Jungkook! You should think about him too! " Hoseok was angry as well. He came for answers but all he got was Jungkook this, Jungkook that. "I just know that dad would never leave Jungkook like this. So i just want to know did something else happen too?"
"You have no idea what he went through, do you? " Namjoon growls.
"You have no idea what we went through after he left!" Hoseok growls back.
Namjoon gets up and says "I think you should go."
"Yes, I think I should. Clearly coming here was a mistake." Hoseok gets up and leaves the house angrily.
While walking on the sidewalk he keeps on reminding himself that it is all Jungkook's fault. His dad not being there was because Jungkook came to their life. But soon all the anger within him changes into sadness and he stars crying. So he just cries on the side of the pavement unable to move any longer.
