Chapter Text
Jimin hates when people chew food while talking. And loudly.
The situation wasn't helping in any way when the female, who's currently sitting right in front of him, is doing that exact motion that's causing him to cringe mentally, and physically.
"Why's your head twitching like that?" The deep voice beside him asked curiously. It took Jimin a minute for his eyebrows to furrow deeply in concern as to why exactly he's being asked this exact question.
Are they blind? Or are they seriously okay with this happening?
There were some days where he allowed some people to get away with this tactic, almost like a first strike kind of thing, but he couldn't allow for it to happen when it was done by his own twin sister.
Park Mina sat just as elegantly as he did at their lunch table, pretty hair cascading down her shoulders that Jimin stopped himself from pushing over from allowing it to fall into her lunch. Eyes with lashes rest on her cheeks as they glanced down on her bright phone screen, typing away with a potato chip propped between her small fingers, pink chapstick covered lips smacking open and closed unconsciously.
Park Jimin, on the other hand, had his pretty and fluffy hair resting on the top his head while his features twisted in cringe at the continuous munching his twin sister was doing, his eyes squinting in despise and his equally pillowy pink lips curling in distaste at his forbidden lunch box.
"Close your god damn mouth, Mina!"
"Quit watching my god damn mouth, Minie!"
"Okay!" said the same voice that asked the question. Jimin could've sworn that if Taehyung wasn't his best friend, he would drop him to the ground at this second, "let's just talk with our inside voices, rather than drawing the entire cafeterias attention to us.." Taehyung laughed nervously, piping down the energy that the set of twins were about to unleash.
It wasn't like they were the schools shadows, Jimin thought, they were pretty popular in their schools building as a matter of fact. Opposite gendered twins in their town wasn’t common. Or just having twins, in general.
The pretty Park twin fairies was what some students described them to be, actually.
Jimin rolls his eyes lazily, throwing the older twin a warning glance before finishing the most he can of the contents inside his lunch box and tossing it into the waste bin. Why did his rice suddenly taste displeasing?
“Anyways, you ready for the math test?" Jin asked out loud at their tables attention.
Hoseok, Taehyung, and some of Mina's girl friends, all gagged at the question, as if they were on the brink of throwing themselves out the window.
Mrs. Lee was an evil person when it came to tests. You could go home being told that the test will two pages, and arrive the next day to a four page test packet on some units that they weren't properly introduced yet. Or didn't even have notes on.
That's what everyone at school saw the situation as, everyone except the Park twin duo, and Kim Namjoon, of course. Where there would be nights that they didn't even study and rehearsed some equations with one another on the ride to school, taking turns for who drives the vehicle this time.
The twins grew up crazily intelligent, always on their natural A game when it came to pop quizzes, and major unit tests on a variety of subjects.
Everyone was jealous, because not only were they smart, but they were pretty popular.
Popularity didn't really matter to them, it happened as naturally as their intelligence did. Guess that’s what happens in their average sized town basically knew about the twins since birth, the prettiest twins, to be exact.
Both twins were sported with pretty round eyes, pillowy plump lips, the most adorable button noses, and sharp jaw lines that had sparing puffy cheeks resting on their faces that drew people's attention in awe. Their Mom likes to think that it was all her, but their Dad with matching eyes and nose shows otherwise.
“I just had my food disappear down my throat, and I wouldn't want for it to reappear. Please, don't ask such a thing ever again." Hobi says, steadying himself dramatically with arms drawn out on the table surface. Jimin giggles into his hand, hearing his older twin sister, by 4 minutes, releasing the same fairy sounds as he did.
“You're being dramatic," Mina said. Jimin agreed, though he was unaware of his fellow friends even bothering to study the night before for this exact test. Luckily, he memorized every family equation there was, which included y=a(x-h)^3+k and such else, especially how to properly find their a-value, "just hope you studied. I took it last period, wasn't as hard as you think."
Twin minds think alike.
"Oh whatever, at least you probably knew what the test is about before even taking it." Taehyung responded, just as their bell went off to signal their eighth period to begin. Jimin and the others laughed as they all finished packing their belongings, making sure to leave no trash behind.
"Bye, baby bro!" Mina smiled, waving off in a hurry to catch up with her girl friends that already began leaving the cafeteria room. Jimin smiles, waving off his sister in response.
“Bye, Mina! It's your turn to drive!" It was like the munching argument never happened. It was one of their specialities, especially since they're so close.
“Ugh! But I have a very quick tutor meeting after school so wait up!" was the last thing he heard before being dragged by his platonic soulmate towards the opposite direction.
“I cant believe it's almost the end of the semester and Mrs. Lee is giving a unit test a whole month before the actual big math final." Hobi grumbled on his opposite side.
Jimin laughed at the comment just as he heard his name being called out.
"Hey, Jimin!" one of the girls in a group says, wiggling her fingers, "love your hair!"
"Thank you." Jimin smiles, pushing a few strands of his hair out of his eyes and continued on with his friends down the hall to their awaiting test packets.
Luckily, them four had the same math class period.
"Maybe she just hates us." Jin stated, crossing his arms over his chest.
"She doesn't hate us," Jimin replies, "I bet you guys didn't even study yesterday." Though, yesterday happened to be the same day that him and Mina went to get frozen yogurt at the mall... but no one needs to know that.
The same way that he knew his friends didn't want to tell him that they didn't study.
Taking his backpack off his shoulders after sitting in his assigned seat, which happened to be next to his best friend, Jimin felt giddy to finally be able to show what he knows by completing the test that Mrs. Lee will be handing out after taking attendance just the second bell rang.
He hears some of his fellow peers groan in annoyance, a couple even smiling at him as he looked back from his front seat to send a thumbs up to Jin and Hobi, who in return threw up the bird. A couple of peers snickered.
Oh, how much he really loved them.
"Jeon Jungkook?" Mrs. Lee called out, right as Taehyung snickered from his place beside him, his math notebook out displayed and nose deeply buried in it.
Probably shoving some last second studying in before roll call was over.
Jimin glared, folding his arm to shove his elbow into Taehyung's side, feeling satisfied when Taehyung groaned in pain.
Jeon Jungkook is a story. Jeon Jungkook, really, is a whole Harry Potter series.
Everyone basically knew who he is.
Jeon Jungkook is the star basketball player at their school, gaining popularity over the coarse of few years after joining the sport back in middle school, successfully scoring 3 pointers and a reputation as he grew up and entered high school.
Jungkook is also known as a somewhat reserved student, mostly seen laughing with his popular jock group of friends talking about either what crazy event happened over the weekend that probably involves inappropriate things, or whatever sport season drama it is.
Other times, Jungkook is seen along side with his best friend, Kim Namjoon, the schools smartest student that has the twins pushed in second, and Min Yoongi, one of Jimin's great friends.
Who is also great friends with his crush.
The only thing about that situation was that Yoongi also happened to be a part of Jimin's social group, but as it currently happened to be basketball season, Yoongi's presence was lacking attendance in Jimin's life.
Just as it is in Mrs. Lee's attendance sheet.
“So everyone is here, except for Jeon Jungkook, Min Yoongi, and Kim Namjoon?"
No one said anything, probably because they didn't want to be considered as supportive "snitches". But that didn't mean Jimin was going to be called out on it, which is why he was the only one to nod his pretty head in response to the math teachers question.
Of course, no one said anything against it.
"Alright, well, I suppose everyone can start off by clearing off your desks and taking out pencils along with calculators. And no, you cannot use your little high tech phones as one."
"Awe, man." Taehyung groaned, earning a couple of laughs and took out his proper calculator.
Jimin shook his head, taking out his own belongings and adjusted them to the corner of his desk and propped his reading glasses on his nose.
Not everyone was born with 20/20 vision, but that didn't apply to his sister.
Jimin threw a sort of worried glance a couple desks behind him where Yoongi usually napped in silence, but only because he already knew some of the problems since numbers happened to be his friend, unlike everything else.
He's probably in the bathroom. Or still in the locker room changing. Jimin thought to himself, but his thoughts disappeared just as three bodies shoved their way through the open door with heavy puffs.
Jungkook, Namjoon, and Yoongi all walked in quickly to hand their individual late passes to Mrs. Lee, recognizing the big signature sported at the bottom corner of the slips from what Jimin can see, though his eyes trailed to Jungkook's messy hair that he exposed after snatching back the hood that was once propped on his head, coming to a reality sense that he's in Mrs. Lee's presence, who wouldn't hesitate to pull his hood down herself.
His hair looks so soft. Jimin sighs, tightening his grip on his pink mechanical pencil.
“And I suppose you three have a reason as to why you're late?"
Some people started laughing, watching Namjoon nervously scratch the back of his neck and Jungkook scatteringly fix his hair. Yoongi, on the other hand, was the reason for the laughs, because he had already walked away towards him and Taehyung in their front row seats to greet in quick "hello"s.
“Sorry, Mrs. Lee." Namjoon gulped, "we had a really important team meeting."
Hmm, wonder what its about. They're game is tomorrow.
"Coach said it’s mandatory to attend so we really had no choice.." Jungkook's voice was like soft melodic music to Jimin's ears.
He can almost rest his chin on the palm of his and fall asleep to Jungkook discussing game plans to him if he could.
"Tell Mr. Soo to mind making his so important meetings before my class." Jimin snickered, along with everyone else at her playful sarcasm, valuing herself more than the mentioned basketball coach.
Good for her.
With a chuckle, Namjoon nods and both basketball players take their seats, just as Mrs. Lee began handing out the math packets.
"Good luck." Jimin tells Taehyung, clicking the pink mechanical pencil to reach a proper led length point for him to begin writing his name, yet trying to ignore the whiff of cologne that danced its way to his nose as Jungkook took his assigned seat to his right.
“Please say nice things about me at my funeral," Taehyung replied, to which Jimin agreed to by lightly smacking the back of his head, "I take that back, I don't know how that'll be possible if it looks like we're already planning your funeral before mine."

Chapter Text
Jimin can hear the minimalistic frustrated sounds Taehyung was unleashing from under his breath.
He wanted to laugh, really, especially when a quiet "oh fuck you a-value, you're nothing unless I'm given a random graph point." rung through his ears, he guesses the rest of the classes heard as well due to the round of laughs that Jimin decided to join in.
He could've sworn that Mrs. Lee may have possibly chuckled before throwing out a sharp "shh!”.
The test took him about twenty-five minutes, after realizing that the four paged packet included a back side.
One of Mrs. Lee's many surprises.
But, according to Kim Namjoon, the test only took him only twenty minutes to complete.
Jimin really wonders how much this man studies, or if it just naturally occurs to him as it did to himself and his sister.
Jimin stands, taking soft strides to becoming the second person in class to turn in their packet, and to even being the reason Mrs. Lee decided to say something properly since passing out the test packets.
“Mina did really well when she took it, I'm of course expecting the same results from you?" Jimin wanted to physically smack his forehead. He just wanted to be turn in his test and go on his phone, but now him and his sister are suddenly being compared, intelligence wise.
Instead of giving himself pain, he fought his way through to plaster his pretty smile that included his famous moon crescent eye smile that only set him and the older twin apart.
"I hope so, Mrs. Lee. We wouldn't want for us to disappoint you with a lack of our mysterious twin powers, now would we?" He joked along, earning his a chuckle and a wave off of the hand, to which he softly bowed to and took out his phone the second his butt retrieved back on where he spent the last, now, twenty-six minutes on.
The passing time had increased every passing person that has gone up to turn in their tests, one of them happened to be Taehyung, who sported a cocky smile while returning to his seat. Jimin giggled at knowing he felt confident about the work he was able to do in the packet.
Everyone had shown what they knew on they're packet by now, everyone except for the person to his right. Jeon Jungkook.
If he could lean, Jimin could almost be able to take in the full image of focused Jungkook, the one where his pink tongue stuck out to the corner of his mouth, including flared nostrils and shoulders hoisted over his desk to give his full focus on the equation in front of him.
At that moment, part of Jimin wanted time to freeze and be able to scoot his desk over just to be able to show Jungkook how to find the answer, or to give him the answer overall. Yet, it didn't seem possible.
Also, because it was at that second that Jungkook's wooden pencil led decided to snap at the sudden pressure it had on the paper.
"Shit."
Please ask me for a pencil. Please ask me for a pencil. Please ask me for a penci-
"Hey," Jimin hears softly beside him, "dude, do you have a pencil I can borrow?"
He wanted to thank the gods, he really could. But Jimin's mind decided to focus on something else other than the gods, because the question caused for him to freeze up for a split second.
Shit, I don't even have an extra penci- wait, did he just call me "dude"?
“Hold on,” quickly, Jimin searched through his pencil pouch that contained most of his colored jelly pens, a foldable ruler, calculator, white eraser, but no extra pencils.
Everything, but no extra pencils.
It's just that Jimin likes using pens, his notes looks prettier and neater because of them, "yeah, here."
So without any other choice, he took his pink mechanical and passed it along to the bunny boy that needed it more than him at the moment.
Jimin softly laughed when Jungkook admires the small hamster pendant attached on the pencils stub hook.
"Thank you." Jungkook chuckled, giving in return a side smile that Jimin quickly tried capturing with his eyes, watching the boy retreat his back to the near complete test.
By the time the bell had rung to signal that it was now the end of the school day, Jimin hopped out of his seat to quickly group up with his friends, alongside with Yoongi, heading out the doors to begin their travel down the hallway towards the main schools exit.
"Please tell me you have te-”
"I have hot tea." Yoongi interrupts Jin, which only excited the boys more than it already was to know that they'll finally have Yoongi joining them this Friday for a movie night at Jimin'a place.
The event has been planned since Monday, all agreeing to dramatically celebrate their survival of taking Mrs. Lee's test by watching the new Avengers movie. Again.
“Why do you guys say tea?" Taehyung snickered, hoisting his backpack over his shoulder before pushing open the doors.
Jimin glances up, making eye contact with people that greeted him, replying by waving his hand and thanking some compliments that were thrown to him.
Jin even received one, thank god he convinced him to buy that pink cardigan.
“Because that's the tea, sis. God, you're such a straight bisexual." Jimin responded, tossing his head back comically.
Taehyung may be bisexual, but from a strangers point of view, he almost seemed as straight as ruler. His best friend showed no interest in anything other than clothes, like himself, when there are times that there would be a pretty girl giving him the interested side eye, to a guy slipping his number on a receipt from the bookstore cafe down the street.
What was his type?
Well, he's a blunt guy that doesn't even know how funny he really is. Guess that's Jimin's soulmate.
"A straight bisexual? What exactly is that implying to? What does that make Hobi hyung?" He asked.
”Hobi-ssi over here is a fun bisexual. All the rainbows and sparkles tossed into a pot and stirred all together...”
"Awe thanks, Jin hyung.”
“... you’re the boring bisexual. It's not a bad thing, it's just that you're a 'go with the flow' kind of guy."
”When really you should be a 'go flow with anyone that actually shows interest in you' kind of guy or you'll die alone." Yoongi said next.
They began approaching the parking lot, seeing some vehicles beginning to exit the campus property to get home and enjoy their Friday nights to do whatever it is that they do.
Jimin reaches inside his packet, pulling out a lanyard that sported a white puff ball and car keys, trying to vent out his crazy friends conversation.
"Oh, come on, how could you say that to this face? You sure you wouldn't miss me, Yoonie?" Jimin didn't even have to look to know Taehyung was wiggling his eyesbrows playfully to the basketball player.
Taking off his backpack and tossing it into the back seat of his car, Jimin turned around just in time to see Yoongi scowling at the younger.
”One, it's Yoongi. Second, it's Yoongi hyung. And third, no, because I will finally be able to live in peace." Yoongi decided to reply back, eyes turning into saucers, but still looked cute when his button nose scrunched up in distaste.
I guess Taehyung noticed the same thing.
"We'll catch up with you guys at Jimin's place, Yoonie and I are buying snacks." said Taehyung, 'booping' his hyung's nose before snatching his wrist and hauling him away towards his own vehicle. Luckily, Yoongi got a ride this morning from Namjoon.
The rest of the boys snicker, watching the second oldest scowl after gaining back his balance and walked alongside the taller male.
"I bet all my savings that Taehyung's been feeling something about Yoongi hyung." Hobi hinted, watching the duo's figures disappear inside of the vehicle.
Jimin tilted his head, lips drawing out and eyebrows raised in wonder, trying to replay all the teasing his best friend has pulled on their hyung.
He thought of it as a playful tactic Taehyung did, the same way he did on the rest, yet it leaned just a slight to the flirty side.
How come Taehyung has never brought this up?
"What savings?" were the words it took for Jimin to burst out laughing, doubling over and nearly falling at the way Jin didn't even bother turning his head to properly direct the question to Hoseok.
Within a minute or so, Jimin regained his composure to witness the glare Hobi displayed.
To both of them.
Maybe Jimin shouldn't have laughed.
"The exact savings I'm betting on you, hyung, having a sudden crush on that Kim Namjoon since he complimented you about your muffins in culinary class. And you, Minie, liking that once coconut headed freshman, Jeon Jungkook, since middle school!"
"My muffins are fucking good!"
"His coconuts hair was fucking cute!" The both said boys exclaimed at the same time, Jimin pulling out a pout just as his attention trailed over to the new human that mirrored his face, but with a smile.
"Shut up! She's coming!" He gasped, quickly taking action to shove Hobi and Jin away, promising to meet them up in his room within a couple of minutes. Hobi suddenly wondered why the discussion became disclosed, but he noticed the other unaware fairy twin make her way towards them and sealed his lips.
Okay. So maybe... maybe Jimin and Mina weren't as close as she thought.
It was just this one itsy-bitsy little thing that Jimin hadn't told her, unlike everything else that they know about each other.
The reason for the unsaid secret was because Jimin didn't want Mina interfering when it came to his love life. He knew she would be doing it out of the kindness of her heart, but Jimin wanted it to be something that he wants to go through by himself, rather than having his twin sister trying to make the situation easier.
It wasn't like she didn't know he was gay, everyone knew, but when it come to crushes and dating cases, he would rather keep it between him and his friends. Jimin did have boundaries, this just happened to be one of them. Maybe, she also had boundaries for him too.
"See you later guys!" Jimin called out, watching the last two friends walk away after exchanging a quick 'hello' to the female twin.
The drive home was silent, Jimin barely exchanging any words with his sister since they both knew they equally become just as tired due to the long school day and before-the-weekend tests that they approached in some classes.
Jimin turns his head towards the window, debating with himself wether to actually decide when it will be the proper time to tell Mina about his longer term crush on Jungkook.
It really wasn't that serious, but he felt guilty over the fact that they've shared so much of their lives together that he could almost guess Mina hasn't even brought up anything about being interested in anyone.
In a way, it's almost like she is just a female version of Taehyung, stance wise.
In other words, everyone knew him and Mina are so much alike. They both give off that angelic soft aura around them and to people they communicate, they have their wild fun of course, but only in their own close group circle.
Jimin almost decided to just go ahead and tell his sister about the situation, in hopes that maybe this new subject would be something she would allow for him to go through on his own, but the said twin spoke up before he did.
“The meeting wasn't really a meeting, it just looks like I'm tutoring a new student." She said, cutting the silence that only contained the quiet upbeat playing music from the car from one of their K-pop favorites, "gogobebe" by Mamamoo.
Jimin takes a quick glance at her, seeing the natural face she's pulling off while staying focused on the road. Jimin knew his twin better than anyone else, so he easily felt that there's a sudden strange commotion about Mina's new student that she will helping.
Mina is a very good person, like Jimin, where in her spare time, due to finishing work early, decided to spend that time by joining their schools student tutor programs that allows students to receive help from their fellow peers, rather than teachers.
Something cool about the program from what Mina tells Jimin is that the student tutors are fit into a school subject they mostly specialize in that other students can apply to on what they specifically needed help on, rather than just assigning someone to someone who lacks in the subject the student needs help in.
And of course, Mina happened to fit into all the main subjects.
Though, she hates anything that doesn't involve math.
As for Jimin, he liked math, but anything that involved creative writing and such had a special place in his heart.
"You're already tutoring five other people though. And three of them are seniors," Jimin says, suddenly concerned as he mentally could visualize his sisters cramped schedule, "can't someone else do it?" Jimin knows that the program has many tutors recruited, but why did his sister want to pick up another student when she could be going to frozen yogurt and shopping with him on her free time?
"Okay, but you already know three of them don't even need a tuto-"
"Because they have the hots for you." Jimin interrupts.
"And one of them literally has been asking so much about yo-"
"He's literally straight."
"Minie, guys aren't straight when it comes to you. They just pretend to be," Hm, no wonder the same student was the one that he recently ignored on Instagram DM's, asking for his number.
The Park twins are beautiful humans, they couldn't help it, "that one sophomore that needed help in Biology thanked me for helping her understand a unit she struggled in, and now they're moving on so she doesn't need me anymore. And this new person just needs help with Chemistry. My fave subject."
Okay, so maybe she did work everything out.
“Ew," Jimin faked gag, making Mina roll her eyes as they pulled into their awaiting drive way where his friend's cars happened to be be parked, "I hate that class. So boring." Jimin reaches back for his backpack, hauling it over his shoulder and walked alongside with his equally sized twin to their brown wooden door.
“You hate don't like doing anything that involves numbers, yet you get them right." Mina deadpanned, pushing open the door after unlocking it to reveal their comfortable well designed family room.
Jimin laughs at her statement, while remembering that their parents both arrive home from work before dinner time, and headed upstairs to his room.
“It's about damn time!" happened to be the first thing hears after entering the room, admiring his friends either taking up the two baby fluffy beanbag chairs and the other two comfortably plastered across his beds white puffy comforter.
Laughing, Jimin foots off his shoes before hanging his back up on it's proper hook behind his door and turns to greet his friends that literally made themselves at home in his bedroom with the tv already on the Netflix home screen.
"We've been waiting since the 1985," Yoongi bluntly said from his place on the bed with his legs over Hobi's lap, "and the pizza isn't here yet."
"Could've sworn you had tea to bring?" Jimin playfully said, crossing his arms over his chest, remembering about the latest thing Yoongi planned on telling them on their movie night.
The others pulled their attention to the second eldest, even Hobi crawling up to sit criss cross facing the pillow eye covered Yoongi.
“Taehyung said he didn't want to get tea, so we brought Sprite and Peps- oof!"
"Yoongi-ah! He meant what you wanted to tell us before that basketball meeting!" Jin exclaims, a pillow in evidence he held that was the cause for the sudden blow to Yoongi's stomach.
The guys laughed, watching Yoongi shoot straight up to maintain his breathing while sending saucers to his hyung.
"Let me catch my breath first!" They waited, patiently, and he began by turning serious, so Jimin took a seat next to Taehyung on the bean bag.
“Okay, so we were in the locker rooms changing to get ready for next period, right? Jungkook told Joon and I about how that if he doesn't pass one of his class's upcoming final to improve his failing grade, he won't be able to continue playing basketball until next year." Jimin widens his eyes, along with everyone else in the room as well.
It was the mere thought of not seeing the Jeon Jungkook not on the basketball court, because not only will it shock the school, but even the town.
Blinking for a second or two, Taehyung sits up from beside him and says, "Woah, wait, hold up. Does that mean that he's dropping basketball or what?"
“No, here's the good part," Yoongi forwards, scooting close to the them as they quickly scattered to get closer as well, Jimin crawling on his knees to listen intently, "Jungkook said that he's going to use this to his advantage because turns out bunny boy has a major crush on-" the sound of the doorbell interrupts the man's words, causing everyone to groan with the sudden cliffhanger.
Jimin quickly jumps up, slipping his socked feet into his gray fluffy cat slippers, "hold that thought, the pizza delivery is probably here!" Jimin yelled over his shoulder.
"You better have ordered Hawaiian too, Taehyung! I don't want that boring ass pepperoni." He hears Jin hyung faintly call out, making him giggle right as he hopped off the last step, reaching and turning the handle to greet the delivery person.
Except that the delivery person isn't carrying pizza boxes, but instead was holding up his favorite pink mechanical pencil that had the small cute hamster pendant attached to the pencils stub hook.
And isn't a delivery person, but someone he knew.
"Jungkook?"

Chapter Text
"Uh," Jungkook spoke before Jimin could even process just the view of him standing outside his doorstep with his gray hood propped on the top of his head to cover the fluffy chestnut hair.
"Minie, right? No, wait, my bad. It's Jimin. Sorry. It's just I hear everyone call you 'Minie' so.." The bunny boy corrects.
"No, you're fine. It's either one, really." Okay, from the outside, you could've easily been fooled at Jimin's stance.
He seemed fine, but inside, he was actually freaking the fuck out.
Could you blame him? Honestly? Did he just call him fine?
There stood his crush, the same one that he's rambled to his friends about whenever his sister wasn't in earshot from them to pick up whatever it is that they were talking about this time.
Not only that, but Jungkook was holding his favorite pink mechanical out to him to return back in his small hands.
“Here's your pencil, by the way. I, well, I forgot to return it to you in class but I actually had to stay longer to finish up the last back-side page." Jimin takes the pencil that Jungkook forwards to him, his grip at the end, and Jimin at the point.
Why's he being so nervous?
And why'd he have to be so straight?
"It's fine! Honestly, I didn't even notice." He responds, in all honesty, "hope you did well on it."
A chuckle and a "thanks" returns to his ears, watching the boy tuck his hands into the pair of gray sweats he wore that went well with a plain white t-shirt under the previously mentioned sweater and... his school backpack?
“Oh!" Jimin suddenly jumped, completely startled by his twin sisters exclaim as she made her way down the stairs, backpack in her hands too. "You're early. Actually, you're an hour early."
Taking this information in, Jimin suddenly thought back to Mina's little background story. How her unplanned meeting was about taking in a new student and that they needed help in chemistr-
Suddenly, Jimin senses something like déjà vu, Yoongi's words replaying faintly in his head before processing it himself.
Yoongi had story told them how Jungkook needed a tutor, having to pass his class in order to continue playing for their schools basketball team.
Adding that Jungkook is using this as an 'advantage' because of a crush.
Oh.
“Mina, hey," Jungkook smiles widely, white bunny teeth on full display.
So were his charms, as he leans for a better view of the female twin from around the male one, "I just thought that maybe you can help me with chemistry homework before getting started."
"Yeah," Mina nods," that's fine."
She sends Jimin a smile before moving over to stand where Jimin once stood, allowing Jungkook inside of their home.
"Let's sit at the coffee table."
But Jimin wasn't able to hear what his sister said about where their location was going to be, because he had already marched up and upsettingly, yet harshly, shut the door after him just to see his friends apologetic eyes looking back at him.
“Mina. Because turns out bunny boy has a major crush on Mina." Jimin stated, Yoongi no longer needed to finish off his words from moments ago.
Jimin's eyes struck on Yoongi, seeing that he was the only one to seem confused.
Jimin also kept his little secret from his hyung, he had a somewhat good reason too, who is currently putting the pieces together already in his head.
"Oh, Minie," and now he had a look of sympathy, with a hint of hurt, "w-why didn't you tell me? I didn't know..." Yoongi said, standing to capture Jimin's shoulders with his hands.
Jimin couldn't bring himself to look at his almost equal sized friend in the eye.
It didn't last long because they ended up looking at one another when Yoongi had tilted his head. Curse their shortness.
Jimin wanted to tell him. He wanted to tell him the reason that he didn't share the crush to the other because, well, he's Jungkook's close friend too.
At this point, Jimin couldn't help but feel the guilt begin to overwhelm, knowing that he's keeping secrets from both Yoongi and his twin sister.
Sensing Jimin's silent reaction, Taehyung stands and takes it upon himself to softly detach him and Yoongi from one another, putting some space between them.
"I," Jimin starts, annoyingly clamming his hands together, "it's just, I didn't want to make it weird. You know. Since it's kind of weird to know you're gay friend has a dumb crush on your straight friend.." yeah, that's it.
That's what it is. An unrealistic courtship.
But, Yoongi thought other wise.
“Oh my god, Jimin! Now I feel like a completely shitty friend!" Jimin winced at his hyung's sudden burst, "Namjoon and I have been so supportive over Jungkook trying to even win a date with Mina!"
Well, that was unexpected.
It wasn't Yoongi's fault in any way, shape or form. Everyone knew that. It’s Jungkook’s choice of actions.
When it came to the fairy twins, no one couldn't resist into falling for their angelic soft charms.
So finding out that Jungkook fell for Mina, isn't much of a surprise. Just a sad reminder to Jimin that him and Jungkook wouldn't be bound to happen anyways.
The rest of the guys in the room watched in silence, not speaking a single word, feeling pity for their best friend's fairy tale take such a unexpected, sad, turn.
Taehyung continued to stand beside Jimin in support, knowing that if they were to start asking him questions, he'd either break down then and there, or continuously say "I'm fine, it's okay" like he always did whenever he couldn't bring himself to genuinely voice his true emotions.
“I'm fine, Yoongi. I'm not really surprised that he likes Mina. He's a good guy, so at least he'll treat her right." Jimin said, walking over to a beanbag and taking a seat, "Let's watch the movie?"
"Jimi-"
"It's okay."
He wasn’t okay. He wanted to cry.
They all got comfy with one another, respecting Jimin's ignorant state, and kept going on with their movie night like nothing happened.
Downstairs, Mina and Jungkook had taken seats across from one another at the coffee table in the Park's family room.
Around them, Jungkook allowed his doe eyes to admire a baby photo that displayed on the wall where it captured the toothless adorable smiles of the set of beautiful twins.
Both had a twinkle in their happy round eyes, button noses, plump lips, and bodies wearing matching navy blue onesies as they laid beside one another on a white duvet.
Looks like the photo was taken in a high above angle with a really good lens. Jungkook silently tells himself.
Jungkook knew who was who just by how one twin had shorter hair locks compared to the other, which just happened to be Mina's twin brother Jimin.
The one with the moon crescent eye smile.
"Okay!" He pulls his doe ones away from the photo and admired the now beautifully grown female in front of him, watching as Mina adjusts the notebook she previously has been scribbling on equations she believed that will be useful for him on his homework. "You can go ahead and copy these down. Keep in mind that you’ll need to memorize some chemical elements atomic weight."
Jungkook captures the notebook that slid his way across the coffee table, copying the words and numbers that Mina wrote down in her neat handwriting.
"Come on, Mina. I wouldn't want to disappoint you." He grinned jokingly, returning the no longer needed notebook back to its original owner.
Right when her small fingers took hold of the object, the sound of their front door's doorbell goes off.
“I'll get it." Jungkook says first, hopping up onto his athletic feet before Mina did, laughing together at their equally quick reflexes.
Taking hold of the door handle, the basketball players opens it up to reveal the person on the other side, a sudden recognizable smell making way to his nose just as the face did to his eyes.
“Hello, hi, so sorry for the delivery delay, it's just that we received your other call last minute about adding in a large Hawaiian pizz- oh, Jungkook?" The pizza delivery guy asks, furrowing his eyebrows.
The face belonged to Cha Eunwoo.
Who happened to also be Jungkook's basketball team member, "there is no fucking way you really got Park Mina to be your tutor, out of all the other science mega nerds in that program?"
Jungkook laughs, helping his teammate out by taking the three boxes of pizza from his arms and says, "I know right. Just luck, I guess. And don’t call them mega nerds, idiot."
It was obvious to Eunwoo as to why he seemed glad to be at Mina's house. I mean who wouldn't be.
Yet, everyone pretty much knew that the star player has been crushing on the girl since summer, and that they've recently became friends.
“Ha, yeah." Eunwoo replies. “My bad.”
Eunwoo and Jungkook make small, but little, conversation. The delivery boy tells the total amount price and Jungkook, being the gentleman that he was, payed for the food.
As they were about to part ways, Eunwoo decides to speak up right before Jungkook closed the door.
"Actually, since you're here.. do you mind doing me a huge favor?"
At this, Jungkook tilts his head curiously, trying to figure out exactly it is that Eunwoo wanted from him.
While holding the door open, his eyes watched Eunwoo snatch the receipt from the top of the pizza box and started scribbling with a blue inked pen.
Is that his number?
"Do you mind giving this to Jimin?"
Jungkook nods, taking the scribbled receipt.
"Oh, yeah, no problem bro." He says, tucking it into his sweater pocket.
”Cool, thanks. Anyways, good luck with Mina. See you at the game tomorrow." Eunwoo thanked, waving as he started making his way to the delivery car, to which Jungkook watched disappear after returning the gesture.
Closing the door behind him, he reaches inside his pocket to retrieve the receipt that he promised Eunwoo to give to Jimin.
’text or call me sometime xxx-xxx-xxxx, i know a popular diner in town that just opened up’ -eunwoo (#12)
"Who was it?" said Mina, causing Jungkook to jump in surprise and almost crumble up the note he held in his grip.
"Eun- I mean, pizza." He corrects, mentally smacking himself.
"Oh! Can you take that to Minie for me? Pretty please? His rooms upstairs, second door on the left." Mina instructs from the family room, probably still finishing some practices that he'll later need to learn.
Without wasting another second, Jungkook skips up the flight of stairs to Jimin's room, passing a variety of family photographs that hung on the beige walls. The twins really are praised around here.
The pizza's remained to be warm from what Jungkook could feel through the sleeves of his sweater by the time he raised his fist, lightly knocking on the door of Jimin's bedroom.
The note remained in his hand, waiting to give it to the person Eunwoo wanted him to deliver it to.
”Jungkook?" Another familiar face asks, a look of surprise taking over the older males soft kitten features as he took in his appearance.
Jungkook grins in greeting, passing the boxes along to Yoongi as more familiar faces are seen inside of the bedroom, a soft glow illuminating the room from the television that was playing a whatever it is that their watching.
The new Avengers movie is already out on Netflix?
”Hey, Yoongi-hyung. I'm guessing this is for your movie night?" Jungkook said, remembering the plans his hyung shared to him and Namjoon, getting excited to spend proper time with his other group of friends.
"Yeah," Yoongi nods, sending the boxes off to another face he knew, Jung Hoseok, the school's pocket of sunshine. "How's the tutoring going?"
"Well," He begins, reaching to rub the back of his neck, "we haven't really started. I actually got here pretty early because, uh, I needed help on the homework." At this, Yoongi raises a single brow while folding his arms over his chest, knowing the actual reason.
“Homework?" Kim Taehyung asked, the guy that everyone found attractive and charismatic, "What the fuck? Mr. Sung assigned homework? I didn't think I was in the bathroom that long!"
Jungkook wished for a hole to just open up below his feet and swallow him up since Taehyung and him have Mr. Sung's class together.
But thanks to Taehyung's extended bathroom vacation, seems that he didn't have to tell the truth.
Too bad that Jungkook is unaware that the others already did know, thanks to Yoongi.
The rest of the guys in the room loudly laughed amongst themselves at the situation, Jungkook watching Hobi almost knock himself backwards off the bed in historical laughter after sitting.
In the middle of the laughs, a specific twinkling like laughter catches his ears.
Jungkook tracks the laugh to see Jimin sitting in a beanbag, one hand covering his mouth and the other keeping a grip on the blanket that dared to slip off of his and Taehyung's bodies as he leaned on the another, the pizza's already set in the middle of the white faux fur carpet.
No wonder everyone calls them the platonic soulmates.
Suddenly remembering about the receipt, Jungkook makes eye contact with the male twin to capture his attention and holds out the slip of paper, fulfilling his task.
"Someone told me to hand this to you, by the way." He says, but Yoongi takes it upon himself to take it for Jimin since he’s already standing there.
"Eunwoo?" asks Yoongi, recognizing the digits and jersey number.
Jungkook nods, confirming.
The one that had voluminous pretty purple locks, with tints of brown at the roots, goes towards them and glances over Yoongi's shoulder. Kim Seokjin.
"Minie!" Jin hyung calls, "it's another number to add to your collection. I heard he’s pretty cute!"
Isn't this the muffin guy Namjoon has mentioned before?
"Jungkook-ssi! Hurry up!" Mina announced back downstairs.
Seem’s like being a delivery boy really is time consuming, based on how much time Jungkook felt that was spent on just dropping off pizza’s and a note.
"It was nice seeing you guy's, I'll be heading out now.” Jungkook bows.
"Bye, Jungkook~" they chorused all together, except for Jimin and Taehyung, who we're too busy watching the movie.
Back downstairs, Jungkook took advantage of the time to push a few strands of his hair out of his eyes and fix his white t-shirt on him, but froze upon seeing Mina's plump pout while staring at the device in her small hands.
"What's wrong?" He asked, causing her to look up.
He couldn't help but admire the way her round eyes prettily looked back at him with furrowed, neat, eyebrows.
"I just saw a really good looking corndog. And now I'm hungry." She explains, lifting her phone to reveal an appealing looking sweet breaded corndog image from Instagram.
Look's good.
And look's like a good opportunity.
“Well," Jungkook smirks, leaning against a love seat beside him and keeping his gaze on her, "I know this popular diner place in town that just opened up recently. We can start the tutoring session over there." He suggested with a tilt of his head, watching the female fairy purse her lips in thought as she stared at his chemistry textbook.
“I'll pay for everything."
Now this makes her look back up.
“Well~" she drags, "who am I to give up free food?"

Chapter Text
Jimin isn't much of a yeller. Though, he would yell at the top of the world when it came to Saturday night home games. And when his friend had the ball in his possession.
He and his friends cheered on for Yoongi, adrenaline pumping wildly as they watched the athletic male speed down the court, a too tall opponent hot on his heels.
"Knock him down, Yoongles!" Taehyung's deep voice rips through, "You're bigger than him!" More than half of the gym laughs, which includes almost all of the attending students at their school, and majority of their town. Jimin joined in on the laughter, cutting himself short to cheer on the team for the remainder of the time, five minutes into their last quarter.
Obviously, they were taking this home.
Because with the help of Kim Namjoon, the brown headed mop of hair that gets trapped between two opponents, Jungkook see’s his hyung’s struggle and dashes to him, out running his opponent. As he runs, Namjoon tosses the ball up into the air, and just as you expected, Jungkook used his mighty athleticism to jump, catch, and direct the ball back into the air, swishing into the net.
Jimin and the rest of the gym cheer on for their school team, some running out to congratulate the players that hustled around Jungkook as if he was some NBA guest star, well, he basically is.
But in the moment, Jimin and the rest grabbed their hyung into a tight hug, beginning their rounds of praises.
"Yoonie! You were amazing!" Jimin shrieked, and truthfully.
“We saw the way you passed it to Minju!”
“And the way you easily made that free shot!”
Only a solid minute into the game, Yoongi had the entire gym cheering his name when he tipped the ball into the net, scoring their first points.
They watch their hyung sheepishly join his hands together, pinkness blossoming on his glistening cheeks, "it's nothing," he replied, but Jimin well knew how much he appreciated their spirit lifting words.
Just before the game, there has been talk that made way to Jimin's ears about a get together dinner over at a popular burger joint, "Bok's Burgers", that everyone is planning to attend to celebrate another victory. His sister had declined before separating, going to their own friend groups.
Wait.
Jimin lifts his head up, glancing around to spot for the soft brown headed female through everyone in gym. Which isn’t as easy as you think.
His brother senses grow in worry, not being able to visually see that his sister isn't anywhere to confirm that she is alright. So without a word to his friends, that were busy praising, Jimin walks away to search.
Mina couldn't have gone out without telling him, he believes, or at least without telling anyone he knew to pass the message.
Jimin glides past bodies, bidding a couple of apologies to those that weren't aware of the fairy walking behind them.
"Where the hell are you.." Jimin sighed, annoyance dripping in his tone. Also focused on something other than the basketball that had been rolling back and forth horizontally by two kids, in substitute for a soccer ball.
"She couldn't even shoot me a text or something at lea-"
"Watch out!" Jimin feels his body swarm in chills that ran up his spine, eyes widening when everything around him moved in an unnatural speed as he free falls forward, closing them tight for the awaiting impact, which never came.
"Oof!"
Are floors supposed to be this soft.. and sturdy?
"Woah, woah, woah," the voice assures, "don't worry, I caught yah."
And are floors supposed to have such soft voices? Or.... voices, in general?
Jimin didn't know wether it's safe or not to stand on his own and own up his embarrassment about tripping over a basketball, thankfully being caught just in time before the ground was close to sporting an imprint of his face.
Wow, triplets.
“You’re pretty light.”
Please say the first two words next time, you used-to-be coconut hair headass. Jimin thinks to himself.
Blushing, Jimin uncurls his small fingers from the familiar jersey and lifted his chin to stare back into the doe eyes that read worry, and a hint of curiosity, behind the brown orbs. In an instant, Jimin takes notice of their proximity and respectfully puts distance between them, letting out a heavy breath that he didn't know he's been holding in.
"Aish.. that is really embarrassing.." Jimin admitted out loud, turning his head away to make sure the flush on his smooth cheeks were out of the doe eyes view, "thank you, Jungkook.”
Jungkook's brows unknit when the short male showed no signs of pain, nodding his head and says. "It's alright. If I lost you then I don’t know who I would borrow pink hamster pencils from." He chuckles, relieved when Jimin joined in.
You just had to clown my pink mechanical.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm good. I just- I was just looking for my sister, I should've been watching where I was going." Jimin regrets even mentioning the forgotten female, watching the interest outgrow the worry in Jungkook’s orbs.
We were literally getting along.
Feeling regretful, Jimin unconsciously purses his lips and pulls them towards the right side of his mouth, glancing down and toeing the ground with the tip of his white high-top converse.
The short silence is eventually cutoff by the man himself, pulling back Jimin’s attention by saying, “Uh, so, does that mean you’re going to the get-together?”
Wait, what?
“The get-together..? The dinner, you know, the one that pretty much everyone is going to?” Jungkook reminds, eyebrows comically furrowing at Jimin’s confused expression.
Jimin physically shakes his head, realizing he voiced out his confusion and tries to save himself from further embarrassment.
“No! No, sorry- yes! I meant yes, I know about it, and I’m going.” Someone, anyone, please stop him. “I meant no for what I said, my mind was somewhere else for a second,”
Was Jungkook really asking him about his attendance to the dinner? Jimin feels his toes curl, holding back the excited squeak that wanted to escape out his lips. He felt a little valued by his crush, who now seemed curious.
“What is so important that you out-heard my speaking?” Jungkook joked, Jimin trying his very best to not see the way his arms crossed over one another on his chest. Especially the way his bunny smile grew.
“Nothing. Psh! Don’t even know what you’re talking about. I’ve been listening the whol-“
“Kook!” And the moment is ruined. A teammate, Jae-won, appears beside Jungkook, hooking an arm around his neck. “Leaving or what? We’re all heading to the lockers.”
Jae-won is pretty known for being a scandalous person. Scandalous, as in he pulls pranks and jokes on people here and there, from what Jimin has heard of before but he really didn’t take the time to properly be introduced to Jae-won. But based on the way the said male looked at him, this was a new kind of “scandalous”.
“Yeah, yeah, my bad. Catch you later, Min.” Jungkook says before Jimin nods in assurance, then turning and started heading to the lockers.
As Jimin watched their backs retreat to the locker rooms, Jae-won peers over his shoulder, giving out a far too obvious once-over and winks. Jimin just keeps his face neutral, blinking and prettily holds his hands together infront of him.
“Minie!” A familiar voice calls out, sighing in relief to see his sister.
“Idiot! I’ve been looking for you!” He growled, lightly flicking her forehead right as she got to him. The worry on his shoulders are lifted off, feeling at ease now that Mina is in his view.
Giggling, Mina waves a school folder in her hand, using the other to fix her wispy bangs back in place. “Aish, I went to the car to quickly grab this thing!”
Eyeing the folder, Jimin asks. “What is it?”
“It’s Hyunwoo’s rough draft. I had to proofread it, and now I need to return it.” Ah, Hyunwoo, the student that Mina tutors. “Anyways, the girls and I are gonna skip the dinner and go to the movies, so I’m riding with Sunjae.” The keys to the vehicle they both arrived in are handed to Jimin, who nods.
“M’kay. I’ll see you home then. You better not wonder off from them.”
“And you better text me updates, by the way! Just trynna make sure you’re okay!” She points out strictly.
“Okay!” He huffs sarcastically, separating with his twin once again, not before sharing a quick but warm hug, and skips off to return to his friends.
The carpool drive to ‘Bok’s Burgers’ took about nine minutes, and the time that they’ve all spent sitting in Jimin’s car, was five minutes. They’re about to make it six.
Jimin nibbled on the side of his thumb, collecting his thoughts and feelings about a certain individual that’s probably already ordering his food, along with everyone else. He even replayed their moment that they had together, before it was ungratefully ruined by that Jae-won guy.
It’s strange, in a way, to realize that this will be his first time out with Jungkook in public. Being somewhere else, rather than a place where school desks and math papers were around them, brought nervousness to his entire well-being. Though to anyone, it just looks like a bunch of high school students hanging out on a normal Saturday night. But to Jimin, it’s an opportunity to talk to Jungkook more about something other than math problem explanations and returning/borrowing pencils.
“As much as I love you guys with all of my heart,” Jin began in the back seat, cutting off Hobi in the middle of his story about his dog, Mickey, “I’m literally starving back here-“
“And his man is waiting inside.” whispered Taehyung in passenger seat, making everyone, but Jin, silently giggle.
“Yeah, and if you all aren’t out of this car within the next three seconds, I’ll deadass drag you all by the ears-“ They scatter out of the car, not forgetting the promises momma Jin never fails to fulfill.
The bell inside the restaurant signals their arrival, hearing the sounds of chatter by people inside the lounge and clattering of plates inside the kitchen towards the back. Jimin looks around, spotting the reserved side of the restaurant that held almost all the high school students familiar faces.
Namjoon is the first he makes eye contact with, standing from his seat to catch their attention, waving for them to come over.
“Guys! There’s some seats over here!” Yoongi takes it upon himself to lead the group, walking through full seated tables and stood at one end of the big main table that contained half of the team and well-known ‘popular’ individuals.
Jimin’s face heats up at the many pairs of eyes he feels on him as he stands there mutely, gently taking a step back to hide himself behind Taehyung’s tall figure. His hiding spot didn’t last long since Yoongi and Taehyung had found seats on the left side table end, shrugging off their coats and already starting up conversations with everyone.
“Traitors.” Jimin mumbles quietly to himself, feeling even more exposed when Hobi is invited over to the other side, leaving him and Jin behind.
Noticing the very limited seats available, Namjoon takes a quick scan of what theres left and says, “Jin! You can sit here.” Namjoon points to the seat beside him, which is obviously occupied by a fellow teammate, who chokes on the sip of his water with wide eyes.
In the middle of this, Jimin ignores the examination Jungkook gives him, making him want to return back to his car and listen to Mamamoo. Jimin tries catching Taehyung’s attention, even kicking his foot but the male side eyes him, then Jungkook, and smirks, turning away to return to his conversation.
That little piece of shi-
“Minjae was about to pull up an extra seat anyways. Right, hyung?” Namjoon explains, widening his eyes for a split second to the said male, who looked completely against the made up scenario. But sighing in defeat, Minjae stands as everyone snickers, allowing Jin to sit beside Namjoon.
“Thank you, Minjae~ I appreciate it.” Jin sweetly says, looking up at the male and turns away, causing Minjae to stagger at the sudden attention that the Kim Seokjin gave him.
Jimin isn’t surprised at the empty seat next to Jungkook, who’s currently playing with the straw inside the water cup. Seeing him in a new environment brought a sudden burst of confidence to bloom inside of Jimin, shocking himself to feel his butt sink into the cushion after unconsciously pulling open the last available seat there is, occupying it now.
Jungkook turns his head to him, the confidence still pumping through his veins and decides to smile in greeting as they both opened their mouths, speaking at the same time.
“Oh, hi, Jeongguk! What a coincidenc-“
“I thought Mina was coming with you?”

Chapter Text
Jimin should've just asked someone if they were willing to give up their seat for him. At least offering to do their homework for a week or something. Anything, he'd do anything to remove himself from the awkward and hurt situation he feels himself driving in once again, his mood completely altering. It’s obvious he’s in the seat Jungkook reserved for Mina.
Now, Jimin felt stupid. All those exams, tests, grades, quizzes, they weren't as challenging as looking Jungkook in the eyes and answering his question.
This is the first question he's willing to leave blank.
Forcing out a far-too-obvious chuckle, Jimin rubs his elbow, trying to answer past the hurt his voice wanted to verbally express. "Uh, Mina didn't want to come. She preferred the movies.."
Mina. Mina, Mina, Mina. That's seemed to be Jungkook's favorite track at the moment. The same track stuck on repeat. The same track that somehow fits its way to every word Jungkook speaks to Jimin.
"Wait, really? She didn't want to come?" Jungkook repeats in slight disbelief.
Jungkook stares at his cup of water, watching the ice cubes come to a stop after previously being moved around by his straw.
His mind is focused on something else though, comprehending the answer given to him about Mina's whereabouts. Jungkook thought that they had a good time at the diner he treated them both to for lunch. Mina ordering a subtle chicken salad with one corndog, while he got a mighty sandwich. The day progressed smoothly as they ate, Mina explaining the problems Jungkook embarrassingly struggled through that he's now beginning to clearly understand.
Mina's teaching is no joke, she excels in that helpful tutor program.
Jungkook threw subtle compliments whenever it seemed appropriate, not thinking much of it when the twin only thanked him and returned back to explaining a section they worked on. He drove her home after overdoing their stay at the diner, leaving a big tip for the impatient waiter. The night ended with a wave, a confirmation about their next tutor session, and a secret promise to himself to do better after bidding a 'goodnight'.
"Hello!" A voice interrupts Jungkook's thoughts, pulling his and everyone's attention to the waiter that wore a smile, "my name's Seonghu and I'll be your waiter for tonight. Can I get you guys started with drinks or anything?"
The natural born leader himself, Namjoon, spoke up and suggested that they would start at one end of the table and work their way down in a 'U' shape. Keeping the plan in mind, they turned to Jimin, being the first in line.
Jungkook lightly nudges the small male, who seemed too busy picking his nails to be aware of the situation since the fairy jumps in surprise, eyes widening.
Awe.
"Sorry!" Jimin apologizes, "Oh, hi, hello, what do you recommend?" He smiles embarrassingly, opening up the once forgotten menu to shy his face away out of sight.
Jungkook subtly watched Seonghu's smile widen, squatting to assist the soft boy in picking his meal. Though Jimin wasn't aware of the obvious attraction, Jungkook did by the way Seonghu looked at Jimin's side profile whenever he explained a certain meal, softly chuckling at the scrunched button nose at the mention of a salad.
Oh, interesting...
"Yeah, no thanks. I'll take a double cheeseburger with a side of potato wedges. Oh! And a medium strawberry milkshake to drink, please and thank you." Jimin finished, closing the menu to return to Seonghu. "Wait, we're ordering dessert later, right?" He whispers, Jungkook having to pinch himself from bursting out in laughter.
"Yes, princess Minie," Taehyung drags from the seats opposite to them, "anything your heart desires, it will be ordered. Now hurry up, we're all hungry!" Blushing, Jimin draws his attention back to Jungkook, along with Seonghu to take his order.
Clearing his throat, Jungkook passes along the menu to Seonghu, knowing what he wanted to eat. "I'll have what he's getting. Instead of a strawberry milkshake, can you make it banana instead?" Seonghu nods, writing down his words, "thank you."
The food had arrives within fifteen minutes, nice and hot baskets of food were passed every which way across the table to the rightful person that meal belonged to. Jungkook bows his head politely to a waitress assisting Seonghu, since their table seated the most people.
"These better be good potato wedges," Jungkook threatens, obvious in his tone that he is kidding. He glances at Jimin, seeing a sudden flash in those familiar large eyes, reading pure determination and cheekiness.
"Oh yeah?" Jimin leaned, "What if they aren't, huh?" He whispered.
Jungkook's chest bubbles at the playfulness between them, his hyung's all too busy to give him any attention either way since they were caught in entertaining their not-so-secretive crushes. Though his own crush isn't here, there's nothing wrong with having a little fun with her younger twin at least.
Jimin giggles into his hand, then raises a suspenseful eyebrow to seem 'serious' and Jungkook replies with, "Then it looks like I'm gonna have to tell Seonghu that you wanted a side salad..."
He believed the fairy's eyes couldn't get any wider, and comically, they did. Jimin shakes his head repeatedly, like a broken machine with fluffy light brown hair moving in every direction that his head whipped at as he dramatically gagged.
"That green stuff?" He questions, emphasizing the 'green' as if it was a contagious disease. So without having a second thought, and with the amount of fun he's having, Jungkook dips a seasoned potato wedge in the dose of ketchup that Jimin had on his plate and ate it, and deliciously.
Questioning why he has not tried the wedges sooner, after many times of eating here, Jungkook consumes two at once while stealing more ketchup. But he just couldn't let the fun end there.
Especially not when Jimin smirked in triumph, taking a bite of his burger.
Jungkook sparks an idea while spotting their waiter, giving the male a light tap on his shoulder to get his attention. He feels Seonghu jump under his touch.
"Hey," Jungkook says in a hush tone, a hand blocking his mouth from Jimin's view, "my friend here is too shy to ask you if you can get him a nice green salad, if you don't mind of course..." He grins after earning no reaction from the said friend, busy sipping the pink shake and typing on his phone.
"Oh, no problem!" Turning away, Seonghu's retrieves to the kitchen, confidence displayed in his walk.
Jimin swishes the delicious cold liquid in his mouth, taste buds buzzing whenever he consumed whatever it was that he is having for the night. His thumb double-taps an image and takes another sip of his shake, tuning out the tables loud conversations and his silent crush, not wanting to further damage what they currently had going on.
Also, because the bunny boy is happily eating his double cheeseburger with a smudge of ketchup on the corner of his mouth.
Jimin was enhanced in an app, watching a random cat video, when the sound of a plate cluttering under his nose catches his attention. He puts his phone away, eyes gazing upon the greenery that Seonghu has delivered, a wider greeting smile slapped on his face as he heard a all-to-familiar snort behind his back.
"Here's the salad. Let me know if you need anything else, no need to be shy," at that, Jimin let's his mouth fall wide open.
"You did not." There's no way this man went through with a promised, playful, threat. Jimin knew, he knew Jungkook liked those potato wedges suddenly. Upon seeing the salad sitting beside his burger, it seemed Jungkook isn't one to back down with the banter they have going on.
Once Seonghu's ears were out of ear shot, Jungkook laughs into his fist, their friends all conversing still with one another, "What? You said you wanted a salad, didn't you?"
"No!" Jimin exclaimed, pushing the plate away from him. "I feel so bad now, I don't wanna throw it away.."
With a sunken reaction, Jungkook looks at him, "Don't you want to give it to a special someone?"
"Who?"
Mina. Jimin can already hear. Gritting his teeth, Jimin props his elbows on the table and takes the red and white straw between his fingertips, rotating the pink shake to become a bottomless tornado as Jungkook continued on.
"Like, I don't know~" the tall boy singsongs, "I heard Taehyung-hyung enjoys salad as much as you do..."
Amusement sprouted inside him, seeing the route Jungkook is willing to steer towards. It's like the 'Mina' track never existed.
Amused by a newly inspired idea, Jimin leans over the table propping a fist under his chin, picking a cherry tomato off the salad and whistles to his best friend. Who ignores his calls.
"Tae," said boy continues ignoring, making Jimin pout and Jungkook snicker silently, "Kim Taehyung, Taehyungie~, TaeTae, winter bear, my best friend, my v to my min, my soulmate, my.. ayo ugly!"
"Jimin." Taehyung immediately snapped through clenched teeth, sending Jimin sharp eyes that pierce through his soul. It almost makes him giggle. Almost. But Jimin keeps up his stance, displaying his eye smile.
"Knock knock."
Taehyung rolls his eyes, giving in to get the jizz over with, “Who-"
Jimin's skin crawls at the sound of Jungkook's howls of laughter, quickly plopping in the cherry tomato inside Taehyung's mouth. The shocked male widens his eyes, immediately launching the wet tomato out of his mouth aimlessly at the persons food basket beside him.
Yoongi's basket, to be exact.
Watching the scene falling in front of him, Jimin throws his body back as untamed laughter controlled his entire being. He scrunches the material of his shirt in his hand, gasping for air that knocks out of his lungs when gravity pulls him down onto the restaurant carpet.
Yoongi's face pulled into a dark snarl, sending missiles with his eyes towards Taehyung's direction who drops his jaw wide open, realizing what he has done.
Jungkook is the second loudest background noise that harmonizes with Jimin's laughter, making his chest feel warm. And not because of the rug rash seeping through his left arm. Though he can't see, Jimin can feel the stares and the sounds of plates or silverware rattling above him on the table, war probably about to bet loose. Along with an audience of course, even including the local customers on the other unreserved side of Bok's burger joint.
Did he mention the intimidating man with a shiny gold Manager tag marched towards them?
"It was fun while it lasted..." Jungkook retorts, standing next to him.
They both stood outside the burger joint, feeling the light of the large red sign shine down upon them, lighting their faces as they watch their friends through the big window eating their food inside.
Inside the warmth.
The town's late night air makes Jimin shake, feeling his hair being disheveled by the passing wind and hugs himself tightly. One hand carefully balanced a to-go box of his leftovers, while the other held a smaller box that contained the side salad. The goddamn side salad.
Jimin wanted to regret it, he did. Even when the manager had gotten to them with balled up fists, holding a im-too-tired-to-deal-with-this expression written on his face, and did exactly what any manager did whenever guests became too much of a disturbance to the people around them. He kicked them out. But he couldn't, he couldn't search the feeling of regret when Jimin felt the material similar to a sweater being draped over his shoulders, the all too familiar musk filling his nostrils.
"And let's not get you sick, yeah?" Jungkook said, care wrapped in his words. Jimin's heart hammers against his chest, looking up at Jungkook to share his a soft closed-mouthed smile with a pair of crescent moon eyes.
Jungkook, on the other hand, feels the smaller's gaze, turning toward his direction to catch the way the bright moon shined upon Jimin's crescent moon shaped eyes. The burger joint sign giving his right side profile a soft glow, the pinkish fluffy lips look an even darker shade in contrast to the night sky.
"Is it too late to tell yo-"
"Jimin! Hey!" Jungkook looks for the face that belonged to the voice interrupting Jimin, eyebrows shooting up at the rush of the steps Seonghu took to approach them. Jungkook notices the to-go box he holds, body direction going towards Jimin as he holds it out, smirk on his lips, "You forgot your dessert."
Isn't this guy supposed to be working?
"I didn't order a desse-....” Seonghu had already jogged back inside without looking back, leaving Jimin to finish his words off with a huff due to the struggle he had carrying the added weight on the box of leftovers.
Jungkook takes the box off, curious to see what exactly did Seonghu get Jimin that is too important to leave his work environment. Just as he guessed, inside the box on the top lid read in dark, messy, sharpie marker a phone number and name. Guess this is a regular occurrence.
xxx-xxx-xxxx (;
Kim Seonghu
Ah, pink raspberry cheesecake.
He allows Jimin to look over, watching his face grimacing at both things contained inside, mentioning out only one of them that had Jungkook double take for a split second.
"I don't like cheesecake," Jimin said, a pout had formed, "you want it?"
Shocking himself, Jungkook answers, still holding the dessert/phone number, "I don't like cheesecake either."
No. He loves cheesecake.
Jungkook didn't know why his brain verbally said the words he spoke. It was like he had no control of what he wanted to say, but seeing how the sharpie numbers looked on the pearly white container bothered him somehow. It didn't bother him when Eunwoo had did the same thing on a receipt when Jungkook didn’t really know Jimin.
Ah, that's it.
Eunwoo is his good friend, his teammate, someone who already has his eyes on Jimin, clearly interested in him from what he knows. Who else does too? Sticking true to his beliefs, Jungkook tosses the dessert in a nearby waste bin and pulls his vehicle keys out.
"What were you saying earlier?" Jungkook asks, his attention back to what Jimin said before being cut off earlier by the surprised dessert. He captures the look Jimin wore, who blinked rapidly to shake off the spaced out expression to focus back on his words.
"Is it too late to tell you that I left my keys with Taehyung?"
Jungkook grins at this, “Nah. Hop in.”
The ride to his house is completely opposite of what Jimin expected for it to be. He expected the black Jeep that he sat in to contain the silent sounds of the vehicle’s murmured roar to the gas pedal, clicks of turn signals, and Jungkook’s drumming fingers on the steering wheel that Jimin knew he did in class whenever Mrs. Lee’s notes took longer than she promised them to be. Not surprising.
Instead, the ride home had Jungkook’s heavily loud thumps on the wheel, hectic body that moved completely out of sync compared to Jimin’s, which flowed with the upbeat music blasting through the Jeep’s speakers as it played a track on his most listened playlist.
“Drop! Drop! DROP!”
“GOGO BEBE!” Jimin chanted, knowing that his and Jungkook’s hair would later look like they wrestled with lions. They furiously throw their heads side to side in mimic of the choreography that the girl-group would do on a bright stage with swings of arms at their sides that only Jimin could perform at the moment.
The song dragged on into its silent fade ending, letting him and Jungkook to catch onto the breaths lost during the hectic concert on wheels ride. Jimin saddens, seeing his house getting bigger the closer they got to it within seconds.
If someone were to ask what his Saturday nights consisted of, Jimin would respond that it’s mostly finishing work he wasn’t able to do in school, relaxing in either his or Mina’s room, or anything that any other teenager would do on a Saturday night. But today, today he was able to contain his heart from coming up his throat after spending majority of his night with Jungkook and fails of attempted flirt, cracking of lame jokes, pulling a stunt, getting kicked out of a restaurant, and to here, silently sitting inside Jungkook’s Jeep in Jimin’s driveway.
“Looks like no ones home.” Jungkook breaks the silence, putting his vehicle in park. Jimin see’s the absence of his parents cars, Mina’s knowingly inside the garage, and his probably being driven by Taehyung, someone he of course trusted to take care of his precious white 2018 Honda Civic.
“Seems like it,” He sighs, “Thank you for the ride. I appreciate you not letting me walk in the streets.” Jimin tried joking, weight lifted off his shoulders at the responded laugh.
“No problem, Minie,” Jungkook smiles, “I’ll see you Monday?” Jimin nods.
“Goodnight, Jungkook, drive safe.”
Collecting his two to-go boxes, Jimin unbuckles his seatbelt and props the door open to exit. Planting two feet on the concrete driveway, Jimin throws a wave after shutting the door behind him, walking away to his front door.
This is the first time he called me Minie.. Jimin thinks to himself, locking the door behind him after hearing the Jeep fade down the road.
Taking the flight of stairs and reaching his room, Jimin sets the boxes on his desk before shoeing his white converse off his feet and starts to prepare for bed. He also remembers to safely put away Jungkook’s sweater inside the closet. And yes, maybe he did purposely forget to give it back.
After finishing his quick shower, Jimin fits into his comfortable sleepwear and turns the lights off, pulling open the puffy white comforter to slip through while already planning to tell every inch of detail that he could to the group chat in the morning. Plugging in the hand held device to its charger, Jimin tosses onto his left side facing the window with closed eyes.
He wanted to replay the moments he didn’t expect to happen with Jungkook, as if he was alone in a movie theatre and watching those moments up on the big screen. Jimin smiles, feeling the butterflies he had earlier when Jungkook got the same order as he did.
Minutes turn into an hour that night, Jimin slipping in and out of sleep, but the sounds of tree branches moving around from the wind keeps him awake, along with the footsteps that pitter-patter outside his room.
Jimin turns his head at the jiggle of the doorknob and begins to calculate who in his family would enter his bedroom at this time of hour unexpectedly. But the familiar height of the dark figure calms him, that is until silent sniffles made way to his ears.
“Mina?” Jimin sits up, concern filling inside him as he watched Mina’s features become visible, stepping into the moonlight. The scene made his heart clench tightly, opening his covers to allow Mina to crawl inside with water leaking eyes and a runny pink button nose.
“Hey, hey, hey.” Jimin whispers, laying back down, “What’s wrong? What happened?” He asks, moving the twin’s wispy bangs out of her eyes before wiping her tears. The lack of words confirmed to him that Mina didn’t want to answer, and Jimin isn’t one to push another to forcefully respond to him. Especially when it came to his sister.
Without wasting another second, Jimin takes Mina into his arms, pulling the duvet over both their shoulders when Mina’s light sobs have tamed themselves, hugging Jimin tightly and hiding her face into his shoulder. Jimin cards her soft hair, eyebrows tightly knit together in pure worry.
Did someone say something to her? Was the movie bad? Did she get hurt?...
“It’s okay. Whatever happened, you’re okay and you’re home.” Jimin assures, “we can talk in the morning if you want..” he adds, letting out a worried breath. Mina replies by sniffling, hugging her four-minute younger brother into a deep sleep. The same sleep Jimin slips in before remembering something...
Jungkook loves cheesecake.

Chapter Text
Turns out Mina didn't want to utter a single word about what happened on Saturday night. The past couple of days pass by like the wind, which has increasingly became harsher, and colder. During the time being, Jimin has been carefully trying to pry any sort of confession, or hints, that will allow him to understand the reason for Mina's broken state.
Jimin remembers waking up that morning, feeling the grip of his older twins arms holding his middle, keeping her blotchy features hidden between the space of Jimin's pillow and the shoulder he lays on. He sighed, the situation making him feel like the older brother of two rather than the other way around at the way Mina pulled on his baby blue jumper, clinging to her brother's side as they both greeted their parents that morning for breakfast.
The twin's mother stood behind the kitchens rectangular island, pouring steaming hot liquid, which is believed to be tea, into four mugs that their father sets out while sitting on a stool. The siblings presence are known after their mother, Park Yuna, catches them from the corner of her eye, smiling upon seeing the beautiful faces.
"Good morning." Yuna greeted, pouring tea into the last awaiting mug. Jimin's father, Park Jaemin, removed his attention from the mugs, matching eyes that the twin's inherited holding pure happiness.
"Look at my pretty fairies," Jimin's gotten used to the nickname that they earned growing up, familiar with what it's interpreting.
The name has stuck since their towns local newspaper debut of his and Mina's birth, first page in bold words read, ‘Towns First Set of Twins Born!’. Imagine the look on everyones faces when they found out that they're also opposite gendered.
Jimin glances at the cut out newspaper article that hung on the picture filled wall, framed smack in the middle between photos that varied from matching Halloween costumes to professional family portraits. Their mom adored photography, just as much adoration Jimin's father expressed in the embrace he pulls him in like every morning.
"How are you two Minie's, huh?" Jimin's father asked, Jimin feeling the pressure of his mouth placed on the top of his head. Jimin relaxes in his arms, the same way Mina did in their mother's. He and Jaemin had a closer relationship than the girls, both males having a love for writing and books.
"... exhausted." Mina huffed, taking her turn to hug her father, smiling warmly.
Taking his seat, Jimin captures a mug into his small hands, blowing the liquid long enough for him to safely take a sip and listens to the conversation.
"What's wrong, Minie?" Yuna questioned next. Jimin and Mina knew well enough who either parent was referring to whenever they said 'Minie', unlike with everyone else where they've both responded to in sync, "you look so tired.." Jimin watches Mina slumps into her seat and grab her baby pink mug, ears ready to capture her words for him to connect to find out the truth rather than the lie Mina musters up to their parents.
“I'm fine. Just the end of the semester is coming up so there's a lot to do." She says, but Jimin knew that isn't it. He knows her like the back of his hand. He would rather want his sister deal with anything else than the internal battling she seems to be going through in her pretty head.
Jungkook analyzes the tiles below him, elbows resting at his knees with faint sounds of heavy water smacking on the tiles that came from the showers, which Namjoon was currently in. He stayed inside the locker room in wait for Namjoon and Yoongi, who was beside him a couple steps far off putting away gear into his locker. Jungkook feels his lips twist together inside his mouth, eyebrows furrowing as the thoughts he's been trying to ignore throughout the week come back swirling in his head. He thought it's all been a misunderstanding.
It has to be a misunderstanding.
The same misunderstanding when Jungkook asked to borrow a pencil in Mrs. Lee's class, thanking Jimin sincerely and looking into his eyes when he took the same pink mechanical into his possession, secretly tucking his own regular wooden pencil underneath his thigh. And including the time he asked about Jimin's rare absence in the Park residence during his tutor sessions with Mina, who just shrugged, not seeming to be in the mood to talk about anything else than the chemistry formulas they've been discussing about.
Not to mention that Jungkook was aware of Jimin unknowingly kept his favorite sweater that night he dropped him off...
It's not like Jungkook is no longer attracted to the female twin. Man, he's liked her since middle school, always trying to find a way to get closer to the girl. Not in a greedy way, of course, Jungkook is a gentleman. He knows better than to rush things, he would rather take his time luring Mina in for her to realize how much he's worth-
"What's so interesting about the floor?" A voice asks.
Blinking a couple of times to clear his head, Jungkook looks up at Yoongi's standing posture, looking back down on the younger. Jungkook can trust Yoongi with anything. He's trusted him since the shorter male took him under his and Namjoon's wing in freshman year at his first basketball practice. So without wasting another second, Jungkook releases the breath he didn't even know he's been holding in.
How should he even bring it up to his hyung? Or explain it? He already didn't want to make the situation messier than it already sounded. But Jungkook needed to know what the actual situation looked from another person's perspective rather than his own.
"It's about, uh," Jungkook's words alter, "Mina.." Yoongi's face matched the same expression he wore on himself. Pure confusion.
"As in..?" Yoongi pushes, needing further explanation. The shower Namjoon was still taking plays like white noise, tuning out the heartbeat Jungkook felt pump in his ears. Which were probably turning red in embarrassment.
"You know I like Mina, right?" Yoongi nods, "the thing is, it's not that serious once I explain, it's just that I've recently haven't been as interest as I was before." He waits for Yoongi to say something, but the silence he receives is basically telling him to continue on. "There's someone I think I also find attractive, but like, not in the way I am towards Mina." Now that makes Yoongi uncross his arms, widening his eyes as he sits himself beside Jungkook.
"As in you think someone other than Mina is someone you find interesting?" It's Jungkook's turn to nod, watching Yoongi's lips pull to the corner of his mouth.
Maybe Yoongi is understanding, but the way he asked the next question causes Jungkook to panic a bit. "Do I know this person at least? What is she like?”
Yes, it's one of your best friends. And he's a good person.
Jungkook shakes his head. "Goes to a different school."
Goes to this exact school.
Yoongi sighs, standing up as he shoulders his bag.
Jungkook wants him to say it. He wants his hyung to tell him that it's alright to think this way about someone of the same gender and find them attractive, after all the years of being attracted to the complete opposite.
"Jungkook-ah. I think that whatever it is that's been making you act up is something you need to take time to go through yourself." Jungkook holds himself back from explaining that he has, it's all he's been thinking about, "But follow your heart, as cliche as that sounds. You should be with someone you find yourself being happy with. It's okay to like some else eventually, just do not play with their feelings to figure out your own, okay?" Another mute nod is sent to Yoongi as the white noise sound, from Namjoon's shower aisle, is shut off.
"See you guys later!" Yoongi calls, exiting the now fogged locker room.
Jungkook releases another sigh, burying the heels of his hands into his eyes, giving them a light massage to ease away the pressure that's built from his hyung's words. A decision is basically what Yoongi seemed to be interpreting at this point.
Unaware to the things around him, Jungkook jumps at the deeper toned voice of Namjoon, who spoke while shagging his hair with the provided towels. "So you're checking someone else out?" Namjoon asked, adjusting the newly worn school hoodie.
"I guess," Jungkook shrugged. He guesses there's no problem with getting another persons opinion of his situation. Hopefully Joon will give him a solid answer, a answer that wouldn't keep him from balancing his options.
"Well fuck it, Kook!" Now this intrigues Jungkook, a completely different stance of what Yoong displayed, "Just ask the girl out already! You're still young, so see how it goes and decide wether it's worth i-" at that second, the school bell interrupts Namjoon's exclaim, causing them both to groan and shoulder on their bags.
The both of them walked out the same doors Yoongi took, entering the hallway that began to flood with rushed students like a tidal wave that hurried to their first period. Squeaks of sneakers ringed in his ears, and the pressure of Namjoon's hand landed on his backpack strapped shoulder gained his attention as they made way through.
"Look," Jungkook follows the direction Namjoon nods towards, admiring the cleared path made to allow the school's fairy twins to get through with ease. Jungkook furrows his eyebrows, curious at the way Mina ignored most students gaze's, looking straight down with a textbook, possibly from an AP class, pressed against her chest in some sort of protection. Beside Mina walked along Jimin, though his expression read more to be concerned with an arm locked firmly around Mina's, throwing worried glances every couple of seconds to his sister's side profile.
"She's been pretty down," Namjoon said, turning the lock combination to pop open his locker, taking two AP textbooks and shoved them in his already bulging bag. One more notebook and it oughta be every recycling bins worst nightmare, "maybe this is the time for you to step in and do something about it."
Jungkook's eyes widen. "Wha-" without a warning, Namjoon's eyes flicker over his shoulder before giving the bunny boy a gentle but harsh shove, stepping foot right in front of the twins.
Jimin gnaws his bottom lip, throwing assuring smiles whenever someone took notice of Mina's state, tugging the quiet girl by their locked arms after hearing the first bell ring.
"I'm too tired to be here, Minie.." Mina sighs, dropping her head against his shoulder. Jimin swallows thickly, trying to scramble assuring words that he hasn't used up already on their way to school.
"I know, but everyone has a quiz in Mrs. Lee's today. And you know she hates it when-"
"-when you miss quiz day. Yeah. Yeah. I get it." Jimin smiles, hearing the chuckle that came along with her words.
This last week he has seen a decrease of his sisters happiness, barely conversing with her own friend group, who don't even know the reason themselves after Jimin asked them about it on Monday morning.
"That's the spirit!" He giggled.
Making their way towards Mina'a first period class, escorted by Jimin, they both come to a last second stop in their steps as the tall boy thrashes himself in the middle of the twin's path, immediately looking apologetic after sending Namjoon a glare.
Jimin's stomach swarms with butterflies, unconsciously squeezing his sisters arm at the sight of Jungkook, just like every other day. Not to mention the times where they've been talking more and more whenever he spots him, especially in his living room in the middle of Mina's tutor lessons, and even acknowledging one another whenever they make eye contact in other public places.
"Oh, good morning," Jungkook spoke, adding in his fantastic smile that never fails Jimin to repay with his own.
It's like he didn't see Namjoon purposely shove him in the first place.
So following along, Jimin greets in return as well, "Good morning.”
"Morning.." Mina smiles back, but not with the smile she usually wore on most days. It almost makes Jimin frown, but Jungkook's cough gains his attention again.
"I, well, I was hoping if I could talk you for a moment...?" Jimin see's his friends approaching behind the tall confident standing boy, but as Jungkook spoke, their steps altered along with the passing students who caught on to their schools star players words. Some even began to whisper. The attention didn't bother Jimin, or Mina, but the way the question seemed directed to the person he's arm locked with did make his heart feel a slight stab. Like a needle piercing through soft, delicate, cotton.
Jimin watches Mina suck in her lips, tightening her hold on the AP textbook. Speaking of AP, it's her first period, which is only a few steps ahead where he can take her away to. Jimin already knew what is yet to come if they were to stay a minute longer or so.
"You can say whatever you want to me in front of Minie," Mina breathes out, noticing the hallways attention, "well, and everyone else too."
Jimin didn't even feel the pull Taehyung had on his free hand, loosening the bond between him and Mina, tugging him away because Taehyung knew. Jimin knew. His friends obviously knew by the way sympathy was sent to him, opposite from what everyone sent Mina, still under Jungkook's eyes.
"Minie, hey," Taehyung whispers, "let's get to class, yeah?"
Jimin's heart betrays him once again, feeling the familiar pain of betrayal rather than the arms his soulmate wraps around him like a security blanket as they walked away to the others. Jin holds a closed smile, rubbing the top of his head like a mother would to a child in a way to say, "it's okay."
"Do you wanna have dinner with me tomorrow? Just the two of us?"
"Tomorrow...?"
"Yeah, since our game is today." Jimin knew the answer. Mina isn't the type to turn someone down like he usually does.
He blinks, entering his first period while sighing in defeat. "... alright. I'll go."
The first couple of classes dragged on for what seems like an eternity. Mostly because Jimin kept to himself, spacing out instead of jotting down the important events his current teacher is discussing about that will be on their end of the semester final. Luckily for Jimin, Hobi is a mega history wiz, so he'll just borrow the notes from him.
Sighing, for the hundredth time since the currently most talked about fiasco, Jimin starts packing up his belongings when the bell had rung, hearing footsteps escaping out the door to head to lunch. But Jimin took time to neatly arrange his notebook and pencil case inside his backpack. After a minute or so, sending a bow to his history teacher, a silent way to thank her for the lesson he clearly didn't know what was about, Jimin makes his way down the hall towards the awaiting cafeteria room.
At his regular lunch table, Jimin greets the others as he takes his seat beside Taehyung right as chatter began sparking up at the sight of Mina and her own group taking their seats on the other side of the crowded table, avoiding curious stares that they're usually used to. Though this time, everyone knew by now of the awaiting day of their schools pretty girl and star players first date together this weekend.
Thinking it over, the situation left a bitter taste in Jimin's mouth before he could even take out his lunch, choosing to swallow thickly when Mina takes her seat across from him and opening up her own lunch. A chicken green salad with five cherry tomatoes.
"I hate men." Jin mumbled, taking a stab with a fork to his own lunch, pout visible on his plump lips. Hobi, beside him, rolls his eyes, chewing up a grape and swallowing it before speaking.
"I cant stand men." He supported.
"Men is code word for Kim Namjoon," Yoongi joins in, dropping his weight on the other side of Mina, sitting across Taehyung with an obvious annoyed expression, "stupid big brain. I freaking knew it was him."
"Yeah. That's it. Asshole didn't even ask for my number yet! Fuck men!" Jimin couldn't help but laugh, tuning out the conversation the girls beside him started up. He feels Taehyung, again, hold his hand under the table.
"What are you gonna wear? Should we go check out the new store that opened up and pick something out?"
"Guys, come on. I don't really want talk about it."
"What do you mean, Mina! That fine piece of specimen is taking you out! I would be over the moon if I were you," said another, tossing in a wink.
Jimin felt trapped, in a way. There wasn't a possible solution for him to just avoid their words, due to the fact his seat and Mina's were directly across the middle of the table, splitting in half. So tightening his hold on his best friends hand, Jimin just listens through one ear as the other tries capturing the words Jin story tells about his bumpy crisis with Namjoon.
"What makes you think I'm not?" Mina huffs, Jimin cringes at the sound of green lettuce breaking between her teeth. Though he can't see it, he can certainly feel it draw chills across his skin, "It's just a date."
"A date with Jeon Jungkook,"
"Don't make it such a big deal, Nihyun."
Don't make it such a big deal? That almost makes Jimin scoff. Because of course, of course a date with Jeon Jungkook wouldn't be such a big deal to her. To Mina, the date possibly meant just another task added to the list of things for her to check off and get over with.
Jimin decides to scoff in the end though, feeling the flare of his nostrils as his sister continues to talk, mouth throwing out words at the same time as a chewed up thin-strip of carrot landed in front of him.
Strike one.
"I don't think I'm gonna dress up" Green lettuce flies out of her mouth, possibly landing on her thigh.
Strike two and Taehyung sends a worried glance.
Mina stacks her stab of lettuce, shoving it whole past her pink lips, "I hope he doesn't act differently though, like every other cocky dude that tries to impres-" A drop falls on his chin, snapping an emotion inside Jimin so suddenly that Taehyung almost falls out of his own chair, hearing Jimin's crash behind him loudly by the metal legs against the marble flooring making the cafeteria to silence.
Strike three.
"Mina! Learn how to stop fucking talking with your big mouth full of fucking food!"
Whispers. Whispers danced in Jimin's ears, though all he heard was white noise and anger flaring inside of his throbbing chest. Small hands clenched together so frustratingly tightly that he knew his knuckles grew white, sharply glaring down at his older twin sister who looked up at him with shock in her eyes like a deer caught in headlights. But Mina's expression changes as quickly as Jimin's emotions had. Her matching set of round eyes narrowed down, sparking up with an angered flare as she opened her mouth to send her own round of hefty words before being interrupted.
"Park Jimin. My office. Now."

Chapter Text
Jimin huffed in exhaustion, tiredly propping the stack of foldable chairs he carried in his now limp arms against the wall, carefully making sure they weren't at the risk of falling like dominoes onto the glossy gym floors.
After-school detention. That was Jimin's punishment. On a Friday night. To say the least, Jimin did feel ashamed of himself sitting on the other side of Principal Song's desk, who not only described the situation to be an inappropriate disturbance, but also disrespectful towards the older twin.
The four-minute older twin.
But Jimin knew he has no say into what he thinks he actually deserves, so taking it like a champ, he had walked himself towards the room that held all detentions.
Jimin had missed Mrs. Lee's class because of Principal Song's little lecture about how he didn't expect to hear such a thing to happen from either of the Park twins. And how upset he was that Jimin couldn't maintain his role model behavior for others to look up.
At least Jimin didn't feel like attending that class specifically, for no obvious reason.
Although, Mr. Song's disappointed words have been tossing and turning in Jimin's head as he sat in silence in the large empty classroom, sitting front row in the four-by-five aligned desks and kept seated as the final school bell rung.
Jimin couldn't believe it himself how easily Mina got him to burst the way he did.
Like she held the gun to his emotions, pulling the trigger and bam!, he had overstepped the boundary line when he yelled at her infront of basically the entire school.
Who knows what is in store for him when he got home.
She's probably starting to plan his funeral before Taehyung could when Jimin had smacked him in the back of the head last time.
"Well hello hello," You're kidding. "funny seeing you here, Park twin number two."
Smiling tightly, Jimin replies with sugarcoated words. "Funny seeing you here too, Coach Soo."
The said jumpsuit dressed basketball coach stands still, taking a couple seconds to admire the student and inhales a dramatic deep breath, pressing a clipboard against his chest. The same neon orange see-through clipboard that he's seen without. Jimin blinks, sitting still.
"You know," Mr. Soo starts, admiring the ceiling, giving Jimin a full view of his scruffy jawline, which hasn't shaved in a couple of weeks or so, "isn't it crazy how I'm the only teacher here after school on a Friday?"
He's not wrong. Jimin voices in his head, knowing well that the second the school bell has rung, teachers quickly escape to avoiding any last minute questions from students. Asking what they can do to improve their grade, or missing homework they could've received just by checking in the 'Absent Work' folder.
"So crazy." Jimin sits up, propping hands prettily under his chin, "it's almost like you're the basketball coach or something..." At that, Mr. Soo's expression dropped as quickly as Jimin's giggles had spilled.
"Yeah, yeah. I got a team to prepare and you got a punishment to fulfill. So instead of wasting paper, you're stuck setting everything up for tonight's game." He proposes.
At least Jimin won't be slaving away writing the same sentence repeatedly. So without another word, Jimin follows the already exiting coach.
"Need help?" It takes a couple of blinks for Jimin to bring himself back to reality, lifting his head to connect with a pair of eyes protected behind thick framed glasses. Oh, another familiar face.
"Ah, no thanks." Jimin grinned, "I got it."
The gym smelled of musky sweat, causing Jimin to continuously scrunch his nose as he focused on doing the given tasks rather than the harsh squeaks made by the footed sneakers.
Every now and then Jimin would glance up, flicking bangs out of his eyes just to catch Jungkook looking back at him. Not like he was counting how many times the said male did look his way or anything.
"You sure? It's kinda my job here anyways....." Hyunwoo had already been here before Jimin, folding clean sweat towels into an empty bin. As the coach's son, Jimin knew Hyunwoo is the type to rather join bookclubs than join the team his father cares for. But at least Hyunwoo tries own up his part of being the coach’s son in a way by being the teams 'water boy'. Jimin doesn't blame the tall lanky male, who he watches push his glasses even higher on his nose, cringing at the mere thought of him being crushed by a bigger opponent.
Jimin didn't bother fighting against Hyunwoo when he began helping him arrange chairs into a line on the side of the court, with or without permission.
"Haven't seen you at my house lately," Jimin starts, talking over the rough bounce of basketballs beside them, "did you quit the program?" Hyunwoo stills a bit before breaking into a nervous laughter, pushing his glasses higher than before. Guess he didn't expect Jimin to notice his absence. One more push of the glasses and he might as well wear them above his eyebrows.
"The semester is ending, so, I don't really need help with anything anymore.." Jimin 'oh's at that, fixing the direction of a chair to align with the others.
"Didn't know that. I expected a goodbye hug or somethi-" The loud bang of the gym's large double doors had been roughly pushed, catching everyone's attention instantly. Jimin takes notice of the atmosphere turning tense as a confidently guy, who walked in like he owned the place, strides towards the middle of gym the same time as Jungkook did. Standing chest-to-chest.
The expression Jungkook wore sends a light wave of chills down Jimin's back, swallowing down his nerves at the feeling of knowing this 'guest' is clearly uninvited. An intruder. Jimin looked over at Yoongi, but even he seemed just as annoyed as the rest of teammates did, who all backed up Jungkook as his top lip curls into a snarl. One person against one team. Pretty unfair but he doesn’t think it’s valid in this particular situation.
"You're not supposed to be here," He began, lowly but luckily loud enough to be caught in Jimin's ears.
"Just wanted to see the competition, that's all." The unnamed guy said with amusement, fake innocence in his tone.
Hyunwoo, who was watching the scene unfold with him, leans down to whisper in his ear, "He's the co-captain for the opponent team in tonight's game. No good history between the schools at all." The new information leaves an impression on Jimin, raising his eyebrows and continues watching as if it were an telenovela Jin has told him about.
"Listen, Heewon," Namjoon shoulders his way through, pulling back a harsh nose breathing Jungkook, "you're not really supposed to be here. So if you can, leave and we can settle this in toni-"
"Tonight's game? Oh. The one we're winning, you mean?" Heewon cackled, making Jimin scrunch his nose.
And not because of the stench.
Unamused, even Yoongi scoffs loudly off to the side. Like the snap of fingers though, Heewon stops laughing.
Something inside Jimin blooms, opposite from what he felt during lunch. A new type of feeling that immediately makes him want to defend his slightly frightened looking friend.
"And I'm guessing you'll be there cheering for me, little one?" Yoongi isn't able to comprehend the words since Jungkook pulls Yoongi behind him in a protective manner, hiding the older. Jimin's heart soars.
"Don't talk to him. Leave."
Hyunwoo, on the other hand, blocks the scene from Jimin while lowering himself so that they were face-to-face, which makes Jimin stagger back a bit.
“Sorry sorry. Uh, you can go ahead and head home," Wait what? The words sound just as unfair in Jimin's head as to the way Hyunwoo said it like it was nothing. Jimin displays a pout on his lips as he voices his feelings.
"And have you finish the rest by yourself? That’s not very nice..” Hyunwoo smiles appreciatively, displaying something of his own. One pretty and deep dimple.
"All that's left is just to fill up the water bottles. Plus it's been more than an hour so you're good. Also this whole thing isn't gonna turn out so good, so yeah.." He mentions the still arguing team behind him, showing a sight of Namjoon also tucking Yoongi behind him. At least he's protected. So with a uncertain glance and a wave off from Hyunwoo, Jimin silently makes his exit.
Jimin wished that someone would call him back inside the gym instead of beginning his journey towards the house. The same house where his sister is currently at, making Jimin's little hands tightly into fists at the realization of having to come to talk with the female. Maybe he can possibly avoid Mina, simply by using a ladder to climb up to his room, or maybe she's hopefully taking a shower that will allow him to make a breakthrough inside. No harm done. Yet he knew in the back of his head that he needed to apologize, but just didn't know how to approach that stage.
In the middle of his own internal battle, Jimin's steps had altered when he reached outside and spotted a new face hiding right next to the schools entrance. If he wouldn't have noticed the person's pastel yellow hoodie, he could've missed them in contrast to the greenery. The strangers large eyes widen after being caught, soon revealing himself from behind the bush as he quickly shoves something in his back pocket. Jimin was too distracted at the fact there's someone childishly hiding behind the bushes to even notice the now hidden object.
"Do you- can I help you?" Jimin stuttered, stunned. Yellow hoodie man chuckled, too naturally like they were long-time friends as he stepped up, having Jimin lift his chin. Dark brown locks styled nearly in fluffy waves.
Not gonna lie, Jimin thinks this new guy is really, really, attractive.
"Uh no, actually. Wasn't looking where I was going and.. dropped my keys!..." The stranger explained, an obvious made up lie at how it took a second or two to pull his keys out of his front jean pockets. But Jimin wasn't quick to point that out either, focused at the bright wide smile yellow hoodie guy sported back down to him. Making him feel small, "... and you're pretty." The stranger said
"I have date!" Hoseok at that moment shot straight up from his laying state on Jimin's bed, eyes comically widening as the words said by the way too overjoyed younger had processed in his head.
"You have a what?!"
Jimin shrieked, softly jumping, "A date! I have a D-A-T-"
"I know! A date! But what?! Already??" Hobi quickly makes room, allowing Jimin to drop his excitement right beside him, "Minie, you haven't been on a date in literally a month!" He felt horrible for having to be the debby-downer in Jimin's situation. But became worried when the smaller one didn't budge a bit at what he said, busy already storytelling in their friends group chat.
"Hobi-hyung," Hoseok prepares, waiting to see just how Jimin would convince him that this will be a good idea, "he's soo~ cute. Look!" Suddenly a phone displaying an Instagram profile is shoved in Hoseok's face, quickly pushing away the device at a fair distance for his eyes to focus on. And wow, this Choi Jihoon reall- wait, no!
"No! Minie! You don't even know him! All that you told me shows that he's a complete stranger.."
"I told you that he's a senior. Goes to a different school. His name is Jihoon. He's so sweet. And is a complete god! Look at him!" This time, Hoseok didn't bother taking a second glance to the enhanced photo, too worried at just how quick Jimin got himself into this quick mess without clearly thinking.
"Once again, a complete stranger, Minie. Who knows what this guy is even like? Yeah, you said he was sweet but what if it was just in that moment?" He tries to explain. Hoseok watches Jimin shut off his phone, worried at how fast the fairy looked appalled at his words.
"That's what a date is for, hyung. We talked for a bit, he gave me a ride home, and said my eyes were pretty- he even opened my door!"
At the moment, Hoseok didn't really have anyone to help back him up on this one, since both Taehyung and Jin wanted to watch the game to support both the school and Yoongi. Jimin announced to them that the whole scenario that happened at school was told to his parents, to which they punished him by keeping him under house arrest for the rest today and needed to apologize to the older twin. To which is still needed to do since Mina hasn't been home. Of course Hoseok felt awful about Jimin's broke fairy-tale. But to plan a date on the same day your crush asks out your sister seems too concerning to let pass by that easily.
Jimin continues. "Hobi, you're the same person that told me I should take advantage of the fact that I can get any man I want. Your exact words." Well shit. Hoseok only said that to hype up his friend that day when they caught Jungkook getting confessed by a classmate after school. He didn't think the fairy would remember or even use those words against him and take them seriously.
"Minie. Listen. Don't take this offensively," he began, propping himself to sit on his knees, "you're in a fragile state right now. Okay? What I meant by ‘any guy’ was any guy we actually know. Not someone you found hiding behind the bush?" Jimin's face twisted throughout as he spoke, going from confident to worried to light annoyance. It didn't take much for Hoseok to feel regretful at that, yet he knew this is for a good reason. Either way, he continued. "But.. if you want. Then go ahead and go. Though it's been a month since the last guy, you still got it Minie." A pretty smile made way to Jimin's face, one that didn't reach Hoseok.
"Exactly! Finally just gonna let myself loose and have some fun.." Jimin sighs. They both sense the upcoming vibrations from his phone.
"Speaking of fun." Hoseok snorts, reading the caller ID right as Jimin answers, putting the call on speaker. The second Jimin did, the sounds of yelling and aggressive energy emerging through the speaker catches them instantly, sounds completely different compared to what the usually hear at Friday night games...
"J-Jin hyung?"
"Guys!" The oldest voice broke through, just barely. Jimin and Hoseok sat straight up at their hyung's tone, sounding worried, "you won't believe what happened!" They didn't bother interrupting, knowing their hyung was going to continue.
"I'm fucking pissed! Some asshole put an app activated toy shocker in Yoongi's shoes and he got hurt! There was this whole fight that happened after the game and Taehyung fucking knocked the guy out!" In sync, Hoseok and Jimin's mouths drop as they stared at one another, eyes wide as saucers while comprehending the words. Taehyung punched someone?
"A shocker?! Is he okay?!" Hoseok jumped in first, taking the phone.
"Yes and no!" They hear squeaks of sneakers in the background, along with angry yells, "Taehyung ran after the guy they said that did it and punched him right in the face in the parking lot. Yoongi isn't good but at least it's not a concussion. There was about to be a fight until someone called out Principal Song.." Jin explained all while different sounds join in the audio, finally hearing silence of the ‘dings’ of his car.
Jimin sits there frozen, saddened about both of their friends being involved in any sort of violence. Yoongi may look intimidating, but he's actually soft and fragile. Taehyung on the other hand, looks and is pretty intimating. So there's no surprise there.
"Did they know who it was?" Jimin asks.
"Yeah. It was a whole setup by the two team leaders. Taehyung found one of them, Heewon, and shit went down. Half of the team already left so we're guessing the other got away." Hoseok released a breath, Jimin nibbling the side of his thumb. He knew Heewon was trouble the second the cocky man walked in, "Oh by the way, what the FUCK, Minie! You have a date?!"
Hoseok went home an hour later, saying that how he didn't want Jimin to get into deeper trouble if his parents were to come home and see them together during Jimin's house arrest. Jimin sat in his room, small smile tinted on his lips while typing away on the keys of his phone, conversing with Jihoon. He had no idea what Hoseok was going off about earlier, finding the whole date to be obscure. Jihoon was really sweet in the car, driving Jimin safely to his house in the expensive looking Cadillac.
Jimin giggles silently, re-reading Jihoon's teasing message about how unfair it is that he has been following Jimin for a year and still hasn't had one in return. Unaware of it himself, Jimin tends to enjoy the attention he receives without repaying. Sadly, he likes the chase but not the being caught part.
Silencing the music playing from his T.V., Jimin cautiously listens to the footsteps his ears catch right outside his hallway. Specifically, right beside his door that leads into Mina's room. Mina always stopped by to see Jimin before entering her own room, making sure he's okay as an excuse when she wanted to hang out. Which is something they've haven't done in a while, and have now gone the longest without talking to one another all because of Jimin. He had prepared to approach her while under house arrest, which is why he’s already making way to her door.
Jimin carefully knocks, standing out in the empty hallway. "Mina?" He waits half a minute or so, knocking again but still no reply. He can hear objects being moved inside, so he decides wether or not to walk away.
"Yeah?" Oh shit. Jimin stands still, paralyzed as his mouths moves for him.
"Um, where were you?" Idiot! Idiot. Idiot. Jimin throws his head back, face twisting in self anger.
"I went to see someone at the game...?" Even Mina sounded confused at the question.
"Who?" He pinches himself. Now is not the time to interrogate. He wanted to hear it himself though, how she went to see Jungkook at the game. Jimin didn't want to ask wether she heard about the fight after the game, he didn't want to distract her so he didn't bring it up.
"I'm really tired right now actually, and I have somewhere to be t'morrow. Night, Jimin."
Jimin.
Jimin saddens, staring down his giant calico cat slippered feet and enters his own room, blaming himself for losing the opportunity to apologize. He felt like a bad cop questioning a suspects whereabouts that's in need of evidence to prove something. That something that obviously had zero connection with what they currently have happening right now. So without joining his family for dinner that night, Jimin went to bed early.
Maybe he can talk to her tomorrow... after her date with Jungkook.

Chapter Text
Jimin woke up feeling refreshed. Along with the feeling of arms circling around his middle from behind. Like a sense of déjà vu, he wants to assume it's Mina, but the chin resting on the top of his head tells him it's either someone else he knew or if she just grew a handful of more inches.
"Morning, Tae." Jimin yawns, stretching.
Behind him, Taehyung grumbles in his fake slumber, releasing Jimin and turns his body to face the opposite direction, but kept their legs tangled. The warmth radiating both from Taehyung and the blanket brought comfort to Jimin, curling himself into a snug ball.
"Don't talk to me. I hate you right now." The deep voice grunted, tiredly. Like a sharp needle poking his cheek, Jimin's instincts wake as soon as yesterdays events come back to him.
Taehyung jumps, startled at how fast Jimin grabbed hold of his face to examine carefully. Jimin instantly finds the bluish-purple spot under his defined jaw, saddening in contrast to Taehyung's bored looking expression.
"What the hell happened?" Jimin puts space between them, laying back in his spot. Taehyung turns back around to face him, being next to yawn before speaking.
Jimin isn't surprised how carefree his best friend really is. It's not like he's sporting a lemon sized bruise or anything.
Hence the dripping sarcasm.
"I don't know how much Jin-hyung told you,"
"A good amount." Jimin checks the time on his phone. 12:38 PM. He didn’t expect to sleep in so late.
Taehyung ties his two hands together and props them under his head, creating a brown halo onto the white pillow with his hair. "The school was celebrating their win while everyone else was leaving. Out of no where Yoongi yells and falls down hitting his head on the basketball cart," Jimin pictures everything he says, listening intently, "and Namjoon hyung asked the first person he saw from the other team and got him to confess it was the captain and co-captains idea. I knew what number jerseys they were so I ran out and found one of them before he got on the bus and boom!" Jimin jumps, the smack of Taehyung's fist colliding into his palm startling him.
"He threw a good punch at first, but one hit and he was on the ground. His stupid Choi friend helped him up and dragged him on the bus. Couldn't even throw a good punch on him too since Kook held me back." He finished, ending with Jimin smacking his arm.
"Idiot! Why do you get yourself into these kinds of things?!" Taehyung's intimidating look almost matches his personality. He has soft spots for his friends of course, which is why he took everything to the heart whenever someone says or does something to either of them.
"I'm fine," He grinned, flashing a cocky smile before it instantly dropped into a straight, serious, line, "so who the hell you going on a whole ass date with TODAY?"
"Jihoon." Jimin grinned, fingers interlocking together. He felt like jelly. Taehyung though, showed no emotion.
"Okay? I don't remember signing a permission form that allows my soulmate to freely go out like that?" Jimin giggles, sighing dreamily.
"He's really nice, Tae. We talked for a long time yesterday and have been texting— he’s hot as hell!"
Taehyung blinks. "Yeah, no. Where's the permission form?" Jimin decides to chip in his own fun. It's unfair how much he's currently being teased.
"I think I'm gonna have to revoke your soulmate-slash-best friend card for not filling me in about you and Yoongi-hyung, huh?" Taehyung snorts at the end, throwing his gaze up to the ceiling. This subject is particularly something that'll keep the pot stirring for the time being from Jimin's situation.
Sighing, Taehyung comments, "Ah... little Yoongles..." Jimin rolls his eyes, rolling off the bed with ease over Taehyung's long limbs, "We've been talking. Everyone's telling me he's liked me for a while."
Jimin sarcastically gasps, pulling on a baby pink hoodie on, "No! You could've fooled me."
Taehyung joins the smaller, exiting the bedroom side by side and took their conversation downstairs into the kitchen.
They, in a platonic soulmate way, have telepathy powers of some sort since at the same time Jimin had removed the pancake batter out of the cabinets while Taehyung, already knowing his around the kitchen, prepared side ingredients and needed materials.
"We talk. That's pretty much it." Jimin assists Taehyung crack the eggs, snorting when the taller picks out a fallen eggshell.
"What about?"
"For starters, he's very shy. But Yoonie can be very cute, as we all know." They all knew this. Their hyung seems cold as stone in the outside, "I'm usually the one that has to initiate the flirting." When really, he's soft as cotton in the inside.
”That doesn’t surprise me.”
Jungkook thumbs aggressively punch buttons in his grip, a remote in hand and eyes looking directly into a screen of colorful objects in motion. More specifically, fantasy cars.
Beside him sat Namjoon, mutely playing against him with not much expressions as to Jungkook, who mutters every now and then every time his yellow car hits a light post. Yoongi, from afar laying on the loveseat, grumbled to himself. A light healing bruise peeking under his fluffy blonde hair.
"You okay hyung?" Namjoon questions. Jungkook pokes his going out the corner of his mouth, eyes hardening. He may be in Namjoon’s house, but if he loses, he'll really start throwing furniture.
Yoongi groans this time, moving into a sitting position, "Yeah. I'm bored though.."
Jungkook whispers a 'fuck', after hitting a light post, slowing down his vehicles speed and allowing Namjoon to pass.
He's definitely losing.
"Sorry, Yoons," Jungkook says, one track left to complete in the game, "we asked if you wanted to play ya'know?"
"Video games aren't my thing. Should've ate pancakes with everyone else at the Parks.." Jungkook didn't have to look to know the older said this with a pout, emphasizing the lack of attention they were giving him.
Both Jungkook and Namjoon knew he was joking behind his words, just trying to teasingly make them fall into guilt. Though the mentioned name makes Jungkook react, taking a split second to look at Yoongi and Namjoon snicker.
He hits a vehicle this time, allowing his big-brained opponent to win.
"Ah, fuck this game," Jungkook whined, throwing his weight against the back of the couch in disappointment.
"What? Fairy Park name made you slip the game?" Namjoon teases in a rhyme, standing.
Jungkook didn't want to say it. Well, he didn't have to because he has been very vocal about what he has been feeling emotional rather than telling them what's actually been on his mind. Namjoon is unaware what fairy exactly, since the name did in fact make him slip in the game. As funny as that sounds, he scoffs. The new subject suddenly gears up Jungkook's memories of last nights events..
He barely remembers his play, seeing Heewon whispering to an opponent and cackling after pulling away.
Jungkook guesses by now that it was about the toy shocker, planning to activate it after the win everyone knew they were going to take home. Yoongi had reacted strongly, tripping on his own feet and hit his head on a nearby basketball cart, happening all to fast for any of them to catch him.
Jungkook got angry at that moment, he really did. So angry that he didn't notice Namjoon stomp to an opponent, demanding who did it and Taehyung appearing out of no where, running and loudly exiting the doors.
Everything else was a blur. Taehyung threw a good punch at Heewon, Jin and Namjoon aided Yoongi nearby, Jungkook and another teammate try prying Taehyung off Heewon. And standby’s disheveling within seconds to escape the announced sight of a teacher.
They didn't want to risk getting any cops involved.
Yoongi, that night, turned out somewhat fine in the end. He got by with a light bump on his head while Taehyung sported a small fist sized bruise on his jaw. This happened on the same night Jungkook realized he hadn't seen a certain male in the crowd. More specifically, a pretty male twin.
Just the thought alone made his heartbeat speed up, locking his jaw and glance down at his already twiddling thumbs. He hoped Jimin was alright. He also hoped he had stayed more after fulfilling his detention punishment with Hyunwoo.
The name left a sour tase in his mouth, reacting to the scenes Hyunwoo and Jimin displayed during practice.
He saw the smiles Hyunwoo threw whenever Jimin did something minimal, nervously laugh at whatever Jimin said, offer help when Jimin was doing something most people find that he isn't capable of. What was his problem? Jimin is capable of anythin-
Stop. Stop. Stop. Jungkook throws his head back, groaning the urge once again. It was the urge that rises in himself to push others away from the fairy. Have no one bother Minie's focus or to intrigue him in any way. It is also the same urge that didn't reach Jungkook when he had seen Mina talking to one of Hyunwoo's friends that night at the game...–
"Wooh! So tonight's the night or what, Kook?" Eunwoo appears in his view, pulling Jungkook out of his deep thoughts like a fish out of water.
When did this guy get here?
"Tonight's the night." Namjoon answered, remote in hand flipping through channels that passed by in blinks. Everyone knew about the date, not as secretly as Jungkook hoped for it to be, but people sort of did have big mouths.
"Yeah," he says, feeling Yoongi's stare, "it is."
He knew Yoongi wanted to say something. But with the presence of a new face, who threw himself beside Yoongi, he kept his words to himself.
As badly as Jungkook to hear, he too didn't mention anything about it. They didn't want one of the big mouthed over here spreading out things more than he did with himself on the couch, invading Yoongi's personal space.
"Excited or what?" The oblivious dark haired guy says with a mischievous smirk. Yoongi grumbles, trying to move away but the arm thrown over his shoulders stops him, "You good Yoongi? How's the head?" Jungkook doesn't bother answering, intently watching the two.
Yoongi freezes, the added weight on him obviously getting to him. "Yes, good, now move." Eunwoo doesn't, to which Jungkook finds to be annoying.
He swears every time he see's this guy, he seem's to be even more and more annoying. Ever since his first study session at Mina's house, regretfully giving Eunwoo's number to Jimin, he's just been purely annoying.
Has he texted him?
"Move." Yoongi repeats, more force in his tone.
Fucking move. Jungkook says to himself.
"Nah. I kinda like you, Yoonie," Eunwoo confesses, truthfully or not. Only he himself knew, since Eunwoo has a some what of a history with getting a little too friendly with a variety of people.
"Funny coming from someone who talks non-stop about Jimin,"
His hyung just had to bring him up.
The same way it brings up Eunwoo from his lazy lay position, sitting properly with his arm still over Yoongi, "What's up with your little best friend anyways? Help me out with him, yeah?" He says, a light beg in his tone.
It's Jungkook's turn to roll his eyes, which doesn't pass by Eunwoo.
"What? Don't think I can win him?" This certainly bothers Jungkook, understanding the context of what Eunwoo implied into the question.
Squinting his eyes, Jungkook replies as Yoongi is able to get away from Eunwoo, "He's not some prize. You don't win someone over."
It's Eunwoon's turn to squint back, "Why does it bother you suddenly? You already have the girl, why worried about the boy, huh?— you want both or something?" Jungkook sits up.
"Enough, enough," Namjoon steps in, sensing the tense atmosphere around them before Jungkook could reply.
He wanted to say 'no' and 'only one of them', not to mention which one.
He suddenly feels like shit now.
"Jungkook has a date to get ready for and doesn't need any problems to bother him right now," His hyung says, easing the said male with pats on the back, "right, Kook?"
"Yeah." A date with Park Mina. The sibling of someone who appears whenever he thinks of his 'dream' person.
Park Jimin.
Park Jimin happily goes through his wardrobe, poking through a variety of soft cotton shirts, sweaters, hoodies, jacket, you name it. The energy of his friends, lacking of one, in his room brings up his mood even more as he picks an outfit. An outfit he hopes to impress Jihoon.
It's been a while since Jimin has been on a proper date. From the top of his head, and context reminder given by Hoseok from the other night, the last date he had was almost a month ago now.
The date was pretty alright, basically. The guy, named Eunji, took him carnival and ended the night with lunch. It was alright, both the date and the guy. Jimin wasn't really interested or excited afterwards. Over time though, he did miss the adrenaline of sneaking around with boys, coming up excuses to story-tell both his parents and Mina about his whereabouts when he came home late that night. Nothing dirty happened, they just chilled in his car on the mountain tops under the stars.
And maybe kissed. More than once.
"Minie! You have half an hour left!" Hobi yelled faintly in distance. Jimin returned, an outfit in hand and a smile on his lips.
Taehyung, Hobi, and Jin has made themselves at home, once again, on his bed while being on their own devices. They were full from the food both Taehyung and Jimin provided, he being the only one that didn't ate to make room for his upcoming dinner. Noticing the boy's presence, Taehyung glances at what exactly his best friend picked out. Taehyung had dark contrasted clothing compared to Jimin, so he awaited his opinion on the fit.
"Isn't it gonna be cold?" He said, getting the other two's attention. As expected, Jimin brushes off the concern and starts shimmying off his gray sweats.
"I'll be fine. It's just a dinner we're going to,"
"And it's easier to take off when they go to Jihoon's after," Jin throws in mischievously. Taehyung and Hobi's expression twist in disapproval, Jimin being the only one to giggle as he pulls up the above knee length blue and white stripped shorts.
"Where's he taking you anyways?" Jimin takes a quick scan of his phone screen, typing away and answering Hobi's question.
"Some restaurant. He didn't tell me much."
[jihoon]: ill be there early
[jimin]: kk (:
"You know it's not too late to back out? Right?" Jimin looks away from his phone, giving the sunshine of the group a purely confused expression. Taehyung and Jin mutely watch, not bothering to back Jimin up.
Their silence was enough to tell him that they didn't completely disagree with Hoseok.
"What do you mean? Come on, hyung. We talked about this..." Jimin sighed. There's no way they're having this conversation again.
Taehyung opens his mouth, sitting up, "I mean, he's not wrong," Jimin's jaw clenches, "Minie, he sounds like a decent guy. Well, from what you minimally told us in the chat. Last night."
"We don't even know what this Jihoon dude looks like," Jin commented next, now serious and siding with the other two, “and you're really going on a date without apologizing to your sister yet. That's kind of uncool, Minie."
Jimin snarls, "I don't like being attacked like this."
But he knew it was the truth.
The topic of them three allowing him to go off on a date with a stranger wasn't something his mind wasn't really focused on. It was more focused on the fact that Mina is also expectedly having a date tonight as well, with Jungkook.
He really didn't plan this overdramatic apology scenario to drag on for so long, but every time he saw his twin, his heart yearned painfully in a deep ocean of jealousy. His sister is going out on a date with the guy of his dreams...
A loud honk suddenly emerged faintly outside his window, to which Jimin reacts to by skipping over with an answer in mind to who it is.
Dreams aren't permanent. There's always new ones.
"I'll apologize tonight," Jimin throws on the remaining of his clothes, checking up on his hair one last time and grabs his small backpack. Before exiting his bedroom door, he holds a sincere smile and links his pinky with Taehyung's, looking at his friends in the eyes and says, "I promise. Now wish me luck." And out he left, hearing their wishes through the already closed door.
The lack of his parents made the escape easier than planned. As well as Mina's presence hidden behind her own bedroom door, mood lightly altering as Jimin passed by and went down the staircase, opening the door right as a raised frozen fist came into view. Along with a handsome face.
"Oh, hey, Jim-"
"Go, go, go," Jimin didn't allow the male to finish his greeting, grabbing Jihoon's hand and within seconds they were both inside the fancy Cadillac. The fresh clean smell filled Jimin’s senses, sighing in relaxation of being away from the real world. Now cooped up inside the same space as the boy who stared at him wondrously.
“What?” Jimin asked, sitting up straight.
Jihoon’s slim dark eyes take time to rake him, unconsciously allowing Jimin to feel a boost of confidence when he notices Jihoon’s brow jump in approval, so he tilts his head prettily to emphasize his soft appearance. As he did, Jimin allowed his own round eyes to take in the said males attire, taking a second or two longer when his clean white t-shirt clearly shows how well built this guy is under that black jean jacket..
“What’s the rush, hm?” Jihoon starts pulling out Jimin’s driveway, traveling farther away from the three faces that mushed against his bedroom window on the second floor that trying to get a glimpse. Jimin giggles.
“Nothing. Just hungry.” He answers, securing the seatbelt.
Jihoon chuckles deeply, “Oh, so you’re not excited to see me?” The vehicle comes to a stop at a red light, the air carrying nothing but silence since no music was playing from the radio. And no aux cord was in sight either. Jimin pouts.
“I am, I am.” Jimin rushes, “Funny how you showed up a whole thirty-minutes early, though.”
Jimin took advantage of the stop to capture the scenery through the tinted windows, watching a couple exit a crepe shop and a pigeon fluttering away at the sight of a fluffy dog. How simplistic. Not as simplistic as Jihoon’s current nature, hands firmly holding the wheel and back resting straight up against the seat. No indication of wanting to be snapped out of keeping his attention strictly on the road. Jimin mentally notes that he’s a serious guy or really doesn’t want his car in risk of getting hit in the busy street.
“Just wanted to see you, that’s all.” A slight jump is felt in his chest, catching the smile Jihoon shoots at Jimin quickly.
“Wanted to see you too,” Jimin smiles, looking straight ahead. He hopes that maybe this date will keep everything off his mind. Things that Jimin rather not say in order to protect his happy state at the moment. Especially the way Jihoon’s hand moved over to grip the vehicles gear, exposing well structured veins under the smooth skin that shines under the natural sunlight.

Chapter 9
Summary:
choi jihoon
Chapter Text
Jimin expected a lot of things.
He expected there to be music playing from the radio, the windows rolled down to allow the cooling breeze in, and even a somewhat of a decent conversation between him and the other.
Like a icebreaker or something.
What he didn't expect was to sit in Jihoon's car, watching him buy weed off someone at their house and disappear inside for four-minutes.
The time ticked mentally inside his head as he twiddled with his fingers, boredom lingering as he waited a few more.
"Come on.." Jimin whispers, propping his forehead against the cool glass.
He can almost hear Jihoon tell him to not do that, since it would 'ruin the cars polishness'.
Whatever that meant.
Nothing really mattered when they could be at a restaurant, ten minutes ago, with the smells of extravagant food rather than illegal substances that were exchanged for a hefty amount of cash he saw earlier.
[taebear]: sooo how's the d8?
[hobissi]: is the food bomb??
[jinnie]: not as bomb as the sandwiches we made.
[yoonie] tea. btw change ur netflix recommendation list
Jimin allowed the smile to take over his once bored features, imagining how them three, now four, are lounging around in his bedroom with sandwiches and whatever other snacks are involved, all while netflix plays in the background. His thumbs hovered over the keys, wanting to respond but Jimin then looks around himself.
How exactly would he explain that he's been waiting in a car for almost ten minutes while his date is inside some random persons house buying weed?
Plus, he's not a liar. Well, to his friends.
[jimin]: update. jihoon is buying weed and it's been 10 mins since ive been waiting in the car
[hobissi]: ur KIDDING
[taebear]: aye, ask if he can hook me up lowkey
[jimin]: no!!!
[yoonie]: oh my god im calling the police
[jinnie]: wbk. im putting my combat boots on as we speak
The sight of a figure catches Jimin's attention, looking away from his comedian friends bubbled texts to see Jihoon making way towards him. So giving them an improper goodbye, Jimin shoves his phone back inside his bag and sits, hearing the door pull open to allow Jihoon to slip in.
And with a stench.
"Sorry, sorry." Jihoon apologizes, throwing whatever he had buried under his jean jacket into the backseat, shoving it inside a unnoticed gym bag.
Just a bunch of surprises tonight huh?
"I just had to pick up something."
Jimin mutely listens, wiggling his nose every now and then as the vehicle is pulled back into motion, going down the street into the faint darkness of the sky. The weed smell is disturbing, since it's not something he's normally around or fond of.
For Taehyung, on the other hand–
"You're not mad at me, are you?" Jimin looks at Jihoon, stopping himself from the snort that he wanted to unleash at Jihoon's dramatic pout he wore while looking ahead, "Did I mention how pretty you look?" He smirked.
Ah, Jimin's a sucker for praises.
"No, I'm not mad. I will be if I don't get food though," Jimin taunts, then smiles, "and thank you."
The drive remained silent, just how Jimin expected it to be. He wanted to respect the others environment though, keeping to himself by sitting still and watch everything pass by either quickly or slowly, depending on the speed limit Jihoon went. Jimin also kept his hands still, using them for the remainder of time to play with the hem of his shorts, lining out the material from outside to the inner thigh. He catches Jihoon peer over a few times.
Oh my god, he's high.
Jimin wanted to scoff right then and there and throw his head back in agony, but pretty sure Jihoon would say something about that as well, ruining the cars interior or whatever shit it is he's protecting. It's like the car is his newborn.
But who gets high before a date?
Jimin bites his bottom lip out of nerves, playing out how the date will go with someone under the influence surrounded by food and local customers too. It seemed that it wasn't a big deal to Jihoon, watching the tall male park his car in the space for two vehicles, cutting the engine and sighs.
Seriously? Two parking spaces?
"Let's eat." And with that, Jihoon exited his vehicle with lightness in his steps.
The same steps that didn't bother to take a detour to the passenger side and open Jimin's door, like a gentleman would, take his hand and lead them to the entrance.
Jimin mumbles to himself, making up excuses for the change of behavior that Jihoon displayed the first day they met. Only difference between now and then was the substance in his system and hidden in the backseat. So putting on a smile, Jimin leads himself out the car and meets up Jihoon at the entrance, thanking the male for opening the door.
At least he opened one door for him so far.
Unexpectedly, Jimin's wondering, lonely hand is captured within Jihoon's large warm one, making Jimin shoot a smile up at him at the gesture. Almost anything with delicacy can make his heart skip a beat or two.
Jihoon leads them both up to the podium, giving out his last name to a waitress that held a smile that Jimin wasn't able to hear since he was too admired looking around the place in 'awe'.
The inside was decorated in modern simplistic colors of dark wood of furniture and floors, beige walls, and red velvet cushioning of booths and chair seats.
So, Jihoon has money money?
"Alrighty, come this way~," The waitress grins, leading to a direction that Jihoon follows with Jimin in tow.
The journey soon came to a stop, the blonde haired waitress introducing a secluded booth area of the restaurant, which included tall decorative fences with faux green leaves for privacy from the other side.
It went well with the small glass flower vase in the middle of the table, a pretty chandelier hanging above them once they sat down across from one another.
"Someone will be with you to take your orders," the waitress says, given them each a menu.
Jimin thanks the lady, taking the menu as Jihoon spoke, "You're not serving us?"
Jimin looks over at him questioningly.
Tucking hair behind her ear, the waitress looks obviously uncomfortable at the peering gaze, "No. Ha, sorry. I take people to their tables, so.." without another word and a silent bow, she disappears back to take her place at the podium where they first met.
Jimin didn't know what to think.
It's either that for a second Jihoon seemed interested in keeping the waitress around, or that it was a genuine wonder if she was ditching them for someone else to handle. He didn't overthink it though, choosing to scan the variety food choices unlike Jihoon, who goes on his phone.
"You're not ordering?" He asks, lowering his menu.
Jihoon looks at him, shaking his head, "Nah. I've been here so I'm just getting my usual."
My usual? Jimin guesses he's obviously not the first person Jihoon has brought here, not to mention the familiar nod Jihoon throws at a passing waiter. For the time being, choosing what dish he will wish to eat and pouring himself water, Jimin makes conversation.
"Thank you for bringing me here.."
"Yeah. It's alright," Jimin lowers his gaze, tucking his hands under his thighs. Such a bland answer.
"Uh, so, tell me more about you. I remember you telling me how you're a senior, you like sports, and you've been following me online for a while.." Sounds blander than the answer, to be honest.
Jihoon chuckles, putting the phone away. It's a start, Jimin thinks. "Yeah. I'm actually the basketball captain–"
Please say sike, right now.
"—and I'm the only child. Uh, I don't really like school, but my friends are worth showing up I guess. And that's as much as I can try saying from the top of my head." Jihoon admits, "and yes. I have been following you. You're prettier in person." The wink makes way to Jimin, can't help but laugh in a single breath after feeling Jihoon's foot lightly tap his shin.
"Tell me about you, Jimin."
This is where Jimin decides to let himself loose, giving permission to finally express the person he is and not just the pictures Jihoon liked and commented on online.
He's more than a pretty face part of a set of two, and hopefully his date will be interested in that.
"I love school, actually. And I love my friends and my family." Jimin grins widely, continuing, "I like the color yellow and blue, and white... I like literature and books, as nerdy as that sounds, but I also like to have fun..." He shrugged, taking a swig of water.
Jihoon smirks. Another tap is felt on his shin, "Fun?"
"Mhm." Jimin nods, then tilts his head, "Some actual fun..."
"Cool," Jihoon replies, taking his turn to pour himself water, "I'll keep that in mind." And for the first time, in a while, Jimin felt relaxed after expecting any follow up questions and any sort of involvement of what he's most known for.
Being a twin. With Mina.
"Are you two ready to order?" A new voice joins in. Glancing up, Jimin takes in the appearance of the waiter and gives him a smile in greeting.
"My name is Roy, and I'll be taking care of you guys tonight,"
"Roy," Jimin says, testing the name out, but embarrassingly laughs at how funny it sounded with his Korean. This 'Roy' is either half American or just has good American pronunciation.
Chuckling, Roy chips in, "Roy. It's a bit difficult to pronounce here, but you said it goo-"
"I'll just get my usual number six order, thank you. Let me order for you, babe?" Jihoon cuts in, not giving Roy any sort of his attention since it all geared at Jimin.
Jimin's giggles were cut short, apologizing to Roy with his eyes, who was already removing the cap of the pen, and opens his mouth to speak.
"Sure." He knew he saw Jihoon look at the delicious chicken Alfredo he pointed out earlier.
"Minie will have a chicken–"
Oh, fuck yeah.
"–salad. And we'll both stick with water."
Oh, fuc– the fuck?
"Alright. A number six for you and a number twelve for, Minie, over here." Roy repeated, writing their orders down. Jimin felt appalled, fists scrunching tightly the material of his shorts at the unexpected change of order Jihoon said. He wanted to eat deliciously. Not poke his food around with a fork unpleasingly.
"I'll be back with your guys's order. Let me know if you need anything else," Roy grinned, turning away at once and disappeared around the corner.
Jimin debates wether to call Roy back, secretly asking if he could change his order back to what he originally wanted but didn't, not after the annoyed grumbled Jihoon said under his breathe. Jimin swallows worryingly.
"He was really trying to fuck you with his eyes," He spat, "Did you see?"
Jimin really didn't see anything. He really wasn't capturing the vision Jihoon probably wanted him to see. All he saw was the greeting of the waiter, the politeness he showed about pronunciation, and professionally taking their orders down with ease and assurance that if anything else is needed, to let him know. No signs of eye fucking...
Taking another drink of the mildly cold water, Jimin shakes his head, but catches the un-secretive eye roll.
Maybe he's a different person when he's under the influence, Jimin believes.
More time passes and minimal words are exchanged between the two of them. Jimin wonders if there are any after plans later on, and hopes it has zero involvement of the substance still hidden in the car inside a gym bag.
People around them talked amongst themselves, looking like their having a good time with delicious food sitting under their noses.
Jimin looks away from the lady chewing her meal, cringing at the sight of not only her talking with her mouth wide open, but also the large salad that's been placed in front of him.
Jihoon excitedly sits up, Jimin widening his eyes at the large plate of steaming spaghetti that wafted instantly to his nose.
A side of garlic breadsticks are placed between them, which Jihoon scoots more towards his side.
He feels his mouth watering, watching Roy silently grading some cheese until Jihoon tells him it's enough, with a bit of attitude.
Roy still holds a smile, a smile Jimin wish he was wearing too.
"Sorry about the wait. Here are both of your meals, enjoy." Jihoon already began eating his own meal, twirling the fork utensil into the saucy mountain in a large tangle of noodles that would messily be shoved in his mouth.
Roy coughs uncomfortably, making eye contact with Jimin and safely throwing a wink before walking away with straight professional posture. Jimin blushes, feeling even better about deciding to wear a large white button up that his frame adorably drowned in.
The flutter Jimin had felt in his chest alters once he looked down, frowning at the familiar greenery staring right back at him.
This time, his green friend is bigger than ever and sported large chunks of chicken breast aligned on top. His date seemed to be enjoying his plate, so sucking it up, Jimin daringly takes a stab of chicken in hopes of not getting any sort of vegetable on it.
"Looks good," Jihoon comments, wiping his mouth, "I kinda read your mind about what you were going to get."
Jimin wanted to snort, but smiles tightly, "Yep. You sure did," and bites the seasoned chicken.
It wasn't bad.
Yet there were only about eleven pieces of chicken left that he will need to figure out how to eat, given the amount of time that they'll be here.
I hope we get dessert.
As they ate, mostly Jihoon, Jimin dared to not try and scowl at the smacks of spaghetti sauce and chewing of noodles. Every time a waiter walked passed them, Jimin would find his eyes looking at the waited food longingly before continuing back to his disappointment of a meal.
"Minie," Jihoon spoke. Jimin immediately sat up, finally being able to converse with the other after a while through their date, "what sports do you like?" It's a starter, at least.
"Hm," Jimin swallows the bite of chicken. He really wanted to steal Jihoon's remaining garlic breadsticks. "I don't really like sports. But I like supporting them since my friend is on a team."
"What team?" Jihoon follows.
"Basketball team. He's a really good player." Jimin smiles proudly, praising Yoongi in his absence, "My friends and I always go to his games."
Jihoon nods, peering at his own phone for a second or two, "Ah. I had a game last night. It wasn't the best. We lost to those wack dumbasses that they call a team."
Jimin frowns, "Sorry to hear that.. at least you tried your best. Right?" Jihoon nods again, releasing a heavy breath.
"So," the tone Jihoon used this time sounded like he was gonna share a dark secret, a mysterious twinkle flashing in his eyes, "after dinner, show me your definition of fun, yeah?"
Jimin instantly regrets it.
Not only because he only said that to spark up a conversation, but also because of the hand unexpectedly tightly gripping his knee.
Jimin showed no signs that would push Jihoon off though, and decides to twist his features to pretend to be in deep thought, humming in consideration.
Jimin can feel himself playing in dangerous waters.
"I don't know," Jimin smirked, "I'm gonna need dessert."
Because this green shit ain't helping.
"I'll want dessert too. Not from here though." Jimin feels another squeeze.
Well damn.
At the same time, both Jimin and Jihoon's devices go off to signal an incoming notification.
Jimin thinks nothing of it, for Jihoon, since he's practically been tapping away in it since they got here. The hand stays resting on his knee as Jimin pulls out his phone.
[taebear]: how's it goooooin??
Jimin snorts, stopping himself but see's that Jihoon is too devoured in typing with one hand to notice. So not wanting to leave the chat room unanswered, Jimin snaps a photo and types as well.
[jimin:] you tell me
[jinnie:] that's a mighty hand, looks lonely, lemme hold it for you
[yoonie:] you literally just got off the phone with namjoon
[hobissi:] if the shoe fits..
[jinnie:] whats THAT supposed to mean! yah! im sitting next to you!
[taebear:] that ring. ive seen it somewhere..
[jimin:] expensive, right?
Jimin smirks, taking the chance to capture a photo of his distracted date, sending that image as well.
[jimin:] and the owner is yummy
As Jimin waits for their response, which seems to be delayed because they're too utterly shocked of the view or if there is just bad service here, Jihoon coughs to capture his attention.
"I know where we can go after dinner. My parents are ou–"
"Hold that thought," Jimin smiles apologetically, turning away to answer the sudden bursts of text he receives, forgetting to silence it before.
And his stomach drops.
[taebear:] JIMIN GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE
[hobissi:] get your stuff and GO!!!!
[jinnie:] THATS THE CHOI FROM THE GAME
[jinnie:] HE'S THE ONE THAT SET THE WHOLE THING UP WITH HEEWON
[yoonie:] choi sneaked inside the locker rooms while heewon distracted us to put something in someone's shoes, which happened to be mine, to sabotage us so that they could win... im guessing you caught him when you left after your detention...
[taebear:] leave. NOW.
Jimin gasps, loudly.
"You good?" Jimin jumps, reacting to the close distance Jihoon has gotten. His words hit Jimin's ear in a single hot breath, curious eyes peering over his shoulder which Jimin quickly reacts to by pulling his screen away to hide the text messages.
There was no point since at that second, the dead battery screen pops-up before shutting off completely. No longer in contact with the group.
He hurt Yoongi.
This is the Choi, Choi Jihoon, that helped get Yoongi hurt.
"I– uhm. What?" Jimin's words come out shakily, struggling to properly voice them out.
Jihoon scowls, sitting forward and spoke again since Jimin didn't hear the first time. He's too shocked, realizing how stupid he feels.
"I said my parents are out of town," Jimin bears himself, chin slowly drawing itself in as Jihoon closes the proximity between them to touch his lips against Jimin's ear, "which means we can have fun."
Jimin suddenly jumps. The cold hand that was once gripping his knee had slipped under the material of his shorts, sliding upwards and fingers caress his thigh, sending his knee to react and accidentally knocking the table as Jihoon's hand flies out.
The table violently shakes once with enough force to knock down the glass of water, spilling all on the white shirt Jihoon wore and a bit on his food.
"What the fuck!" Jihoon spits silently through gritted teeth, sending a shock of fear through Jimin, "you little bitch!"
Jimin whimpers, looking around for any sign of help to save him from getting hurt, which looked like to be Jihoon's intentions due to how he forcefully, and painfully, held him down by the elbow.
"I-I'm- I'm sorry! I'll get something!" Jimin spits out, forcing the niceness to twine with his words as he pats down Jihoon with minimal napkins provided.
Jihoon continues to curse under his breath, tightening his hold on Jimin.
"Make yourself fucking useful and get me a towel. Hurry up!" The words felt like venom sinking in his bloodstream, robotically controlling Jimin to nod and leave the booth with his backpack still looped over his shoulder.
He needs to leave. Now.
Jimin held his phone in a tight grip, scarily jumping every now and then whenever he catches himself before running into tables he goes through. His intentions were to search for towels, which is probably needed to be asked for, but the restroom sign ahead gives him something better to look for.
He remembers when Jin explained the prettiness of the building he's currently in. Explaining how soft the cushions felt when you sat on them, how hot the food is served.... and how the restroom had a frosted glass window that shines prettily when it aligns with the moonlight.
Jimin curses at himself, still in shock and high hopes that Jihoon is still waiting at the booth, expecting Jimin to return him with towels.
Through the heavy defined words and a male leaving the said restroom, Jimin slips through without locking the door behind him. He steps inside, not wasting any time to take notice of the god awful smell.
Instantly, Jimin spots the window and silently thanks the interior designer for placing a cushioned bench under the tall window that indeed have handles.
So without wasting another second, Jimin steps onto the bench and as expected, the handle is unlocked and opens up, revealing the cold and dark outside world.
"Idiot." And with that, Jimin uses his arm strength to slowly lower his body out the window into the freezing weather, jumping the remaining four-feet with a heavy thud.
I'm stupid.
I'm so so stupid. Jimin thinks to himself, tightening his fists when he walks forward, recognizing the vehicle looming right back at him. The same vehicle currently taking two parking spaces and sporting a pink ticket slipped under the windshield wiper.
Jihoon is also stupid.
Jimin grips his teeth together, finding it as a way to bite back his emotions from slipping the way Jihoon's hand did back inside.
That asshole.
Jimin glances down, admiring one of the rings Taehyung gifted him on his birthday. A pretty baby pink gemmed ring that snuggly fit on his pointer finger.
It's one of his favorite rings, actually.
Jihoon hurt Yoongi.
Jimin loves the ring even more now.
Not because of its beauty and meaning behind it, but because of the way it felt as he dug the corner of the protected gem into the side, smirking as he glides his fist across from the front up to the end. Everything was mute to his ears.
He deserves it.
Assholes deserve all bad shit that hits them.
"Stupid prick.." Jimin breathes out, turning away and begins his freezing, and lonely, journey back home in shame.
A deep heavy scratch is left behind on Jihoon's precious car.
A trophy Jimin gifts him, in honor of being the biggest dumbass since he thinks sabotage and hurting Yoongi would get him to win the game.

Chapter 10
Summary:
very long chapter
Chapter Text
He pours himself another glass of water into the cup. Probably the fourth or fifth time he's done this ever since he got here, honestly.
Voices, happy content voices, capture his attention for a couple of seconds before minding his own business, not wanting to snoop around and listen to what's going on in everyone else's lives. His happens to be a pretty sad one at the moment.
"Can I help you with anything else?" His waiter asks politely. He showed no signs of tease or second-hand embarrassment, just asking a sincere question to the lone boy sitting by himself.
Jungkook can confirm that Mina stood him up.
Jungkook breaks the eye contact, feeling around the surface of his pockets with a pat to assure that his keys are still there. He's trying to find anything to do to keep his mind off of the disappointment of a date he's lacking, missing the actual date herself.
He sat in a nice table for two, thanking the nice lady earlier and greeting his waiter, telling him that he needed a few more minutes before ordering. Jungkook didn't want to order without Mina.
Mina had told him to not pick her up, saying that she insists of driving herself to the sent location. So respecting her decision, Jungkook arrived at the restaurant, party of two, and seated himself.
An hour later, it's a party of one.
"Uhm... no. I'll just have the bill please. Thank you, Roy."
He could've believe it.
Jungkook sat there, staring at the empty seat across from him and made up excuses as time passed by for reasons as to why the said female is mildly late.
Maybe she got a flat tire? Ran out of gas? Last minute outfit change?
But the texts he sent asking her where she currently was stared right back at him, a 'read' left under the blue bubble texts. A way of telling him she backed out..
Jungkook didn't bother responding back to his friends about the date, who were currently bombing his inbox about the date.
Since there really isn't a date to begin with.
Unless you count the dessert, a slice of cheesecake, he got for himself in hopes it'd cheer him up. He didn't mean to enjoy it, yet the spotless plate said other wise.
I cant believe she didn't show up...
As he waited for his bill, pushing away the clean plate away, Jungkook decided to let loose and capture whatever was made his way right then and there. Too let down to keep up his guard now as he slacks back in the comfy cushioned seat.
"Basketball—," Jungkook catches barely through the tall faux leaves decorative fence, used for privacy between side-by-side booths. It happens to be the only thing he hears, since he, shockingly, likes basketball.
Note the sarcasm.
Jungkook sighs, finding nothing better to do and listens.
"—team. He's a really good player. My friends and I always go to his games." The pitch and softness of the voice intrigued Jungkook, instantly painting the face that belonged to the person talking.
"Ah. I had a game last night. It wasn't the best. We lost to those wack dumbasses that they call a team." This deeper tone makes Jungkook's instincts sharpen. The cheesecake aftertaste is suddenly sour in his mouth.
Jungkook sits up. "Sorry to hear that.. at least you tried your best. Right?"
It's Jimin. One-hundred percent.
"So, after dinner, show me your definition of fun, yeah?"
And he's on a date with... Choi Jihoon?
The muscles in his jaw jump in reaction to the flirtatious question targeted to the boy. Jungkook didn't know what to do, especially since they were on the other side of the too tall fence to pull Jimin away from the pervert of an asshole. Before he could even suggest to himself what to do, he almost chokes at the confidently spoken response.
"I don't know.... I'm gonna need dessert."
"I'll want dessert too. Not from here though."
Jimin shouldn’t be here. He should be tucked away in his soft white room. Away from damaging his innocent persona Jungkook is used to and fond of.
As he kept quiet, there are no more words exchanged between the two.
It was like someone held a remote, pausing the climaxing conversation that disturbed Jungkook to a certain limit. He looks around, seeing everyone else still in motion.
It's either they stopped talking then and there or there is something inappropriately happening that he can't hear.
A minute or two passes, which seemed like an hour to him. Especially since he's at the edge of his seat, waiting impatiently.
"—your bill." He jumps.
"Huh?"
"Here's your bill." Roy grinned, presenting a strip of paper slipped inside a black leather booklet. Jungkook quickly takes the booklet, rushingly speaking.
"Oh, yeah, okay. Thank you, thanks." He didn't bother making sure the waiter left, since the shocked gasp pulled him back into snooping mode.
"You good?"
"I– uhm. What?"
Something's obviously wrong.
Jimin has no reason to stutter. Not after the purr his voice had after the hint of having his own definition of fun.
"I said my parents are out of town. Which means we can have fun."
Jungkook flinches at the riot he hears after the spoken words. The violent sound of the table being hit with the slush of water spilling in unnatural places makes him sit up straighter than a ruler, tightening his hold around the booklet.
"What the fuck! You little bitch!"
"I-I'm– I'm sorry! I'll get something!" Jimin whimpers, fear lacing in his delicate soft tone. Jungkook dug himself deeper in a pit of worry for the smaller.
He needs to get out of there.
"Make yourself fucking useful and get me a towel. Hurry up!" The words shot through him like a venomous bullet. The deep meaning behind them and to who they were targeted towards has Jungkook feel smoke start to escape out of his ears.
Jimin's presence itself has Jungkook feeling at edge. The fact that he's on a date in general did not settle well in his stomach entirely.
Mina stood him up. Yet he found himself using the awaiting time wondering what Jimin is doing, not Mina, since Yoongi hinted to him earlier that the smaller also has a date on the same day. Now Jungkook knows where he is, and who he's with.
How can this douche even find it in his heart to raise his tone at someone like Jimin?
Jimin. Jimin. Jimin. Jimin.
Yeah, he's officially whipped for this boy.
And this point is proven as Jungkook takes a mighty stand off his seat, eyes locked on the poor excuse of a man leaving the restaurant with a soaked shirt sticking to his torso. Without commuting a single blink, Jungkook follows behind and leaves a big tip after leaving cash to cover the cheesecake.
Nothing seemed to matter at the moment, not even a response to a customer who accidentally runs into him, footsteps staying in motion out the chilly air.
"—if only you can see my FUCKING car right now! The bitch fucking keyed it and dipped on me!" It didn't take long to spot the guy, being the only one who was yelling in the parking lot next to a polished pearly white car taking up two parking spaces. Huh, no wonder it took Jungkook a while to find a spot.
Everything that Jungkook felt doubled upon taking in the expression Jihoon wore. It was similar to the one he displayed at the game, a look of fury.
A look that showed he wanted to overcome and destroy the enemy.
"Yes! That Park Jimin boy! Who else?! I knew I should've tried to fuck his sister instead but god fucking dam–"
"Yo!"
Jihoo's head snaps to look back at Jungkook, the middle of his face perfectly meeting the flying fist.
He falls, knocked out cold.
Jimin's teeth clattered, happening to be the only sound he hears with backgrounds of vehicles that zoomed past him every now and then on the very dark street. His feet felt like heavy weights with each step he took, a continuous journey that never seems to end. He looks up, worry itched on his face, and a hint of fear, about just how much longer it'll take him to safely arrive home.
Jimin stares back down, going back to watching the glimmer of the streets side road that shined from the moon in motion as he walked. His mind was in a deep sea of thoughts, too buried to be aware of everything around him. He regrets wearing shorts that night. He really didn't think he'd be walking home.
Could you blame him?
The sudden absence of cars on the main road show him that it is definitely very late in time. Jimin's only been walking for an hour and a half, not to mention he doesn't know where he is. But he continues forward.
Jimin's hands tighten as the chilly air picks up a kick of wind, tousling his hair and jaw naturally unclamping to chatter his teeth. He feels dumb to think Jihoon would look past the large scratch, forgive Jimin, and pick him up.
As he fought through the wind, the wet moonlight lit road has gotten fainter, the pit of his stomach dropping after seeing shadows that could only be the result of tall trees that he begins walking past, which covered the moon. The only source of light he had.
Keep going straight.
And that he did. Though within seconds, the light had returned, too quick he thinks considering that it's a forest after all. Jimin stops, lights becoming too bright to be coming from the moon. Unless the moon was right behind his feet, mapping his shadow. Like the way vehicle's LED headlights are doing at the moment, his mouth going dry for one reason.
He's walking on the left side of the road.
Jungkook drove up and down several roads, chest meeting up with the face of the steering wheel his hands clutched so tightly that he wasn't aware how white his knuckles became. His gaze flicks to the time displayed under the dashboard, roughly breathing under his nose while turning onto a new, dark road.
11:52 PM.
Earlier, after leaving Jihoon's unconscious self onto the restaurants outside bench, Jungkook had messaged Yoongi, but the said person had replied saying that Jimin's device must be dead, or shut off. Without wasting another minute, Jungkook reversed out the parking lot and began his search for the smaller.
He kept wondering if he accepted a ride off someone, or possibly asked. But Jungkook shook his head.
The boy is too smart to take that chance, and after witnessing how the date unfolded, it's possible he wants to be alone right now.
By himself. Late, at night.
Eventually Jungkook sighs in relief, praising himself for taking the road he doubted to find Jimin in. Driving deeper, and carefully using the left lane of the road after assuring no cars would start passing, Jimin's form seemed to grow stiff as the headlights presented him. Like a celebrity under the spotlight.
"Jimin!" Jimin freezes, recognizing the softness of the worry laced tone behind him. He wanted to feel assured, safe, but embarrassment consumed him more.
He walked faster.
"Jimin! Hey!" Jimin squeezes his eyes shut, letting his feet drag him forward as he hears a slam of the door, heavy steps following.
No. No. N–
Jimin opens his eyes, the warmth of heavy hands on his shoulders to stop his motion made him naturally look back at Jungkook, features deeply enhanced due to the headlights. Jungkook stares back down at him, looking bewildered for a second or two, then takes in their location.
"-... doing?" Jimin blinks, noticing that Jungkook has been talking.
"Hey there..." He nervously laughs.
"What are you doing?" Jungkook repeats, "It's late and you're in the middle of no where."
Jimin fakes a knowing look. "I'm just taking a walk. I'm already going home."
"But you’re going the opposite way."
Jimin's mouth dries.
"And you look too dressed up to be taking a casual walk late at night," Jungkook mentions, making him feel tinier in his date attire, "I'm taking you home."
Jimin stands his ground though. There's no way he's getting in Jeon Jungkook's car. Not even after he knows where the said man has recently been, with a familiar someone.
What if he drove Mina and she saw he was gone? Did she get worried?
No. Jimin thinks, mutely watching Jungkook's back retreating back to his Jeep. It didn't take bunny boy long to notice that he wasn't following, turning around with confusion.
"Come on, Minie."
"No. I'll walk." Jimin's heart-rate speeds up, not knowing what point he's trying to prove himself.
"You weren't going the right way–"
"Have a good night." There really isn't a point, though. It's just jealousy and embarrassment strongly getting to him. It showed in the way he fixes his posture, ignoring Jungkook's stare as he spins around, walking past him.
"You're being stubborn. I don't know what happened–"
Please don't ask what happened.
"But I'm not letting you walk on the streets." The familiarity brings warmth to Jimin's sensitive heart, remembering the memory that came with the words from the night he drove him home after getting kicked out the diner.
The really warm diner.
"I'll be fine. Once again, have a good n–" Jimin gasps, feeling his entire being lifted off the ground and into Jungkook's arms, "You're kidding."
Jimin wanted to pull his phone out right then and there, capture his current situation and write a novel to the others how one of his fantasies had came to life. He kept to himself, noticing how quiet Jungkook became as he walked him back to his Jeep, probably feeling Jimin's frozen state.
"You're so stubborn." Jungkook stated. Jimin watch his eyes flash, gently being placed in the passenger seat as his heart rate beats faster than before.
I don't want to go home...
Jungkook was back to square one. Only this time, he did have the found fairy in the passenger seat, quiet as ever compared to the last time they were in the Jeep together. He wanted to be respectful and allow Jimin to initiate the start of a conversation.
Though he didn't tell him, Jungkook already knew what happened tonight.
It brought a toll to Jimin, sadly, watching the way he just stared out the window from the corner of his eye.
His fingers tingle. Feeling the absent delicacy he had holding Jimin, carefully making sure they weren't making contact with his very cold bare skin. The material of the shorts proved how cold he really was, since they were also damp due to the passing winds that carried very light showers.
"Sorry.." He hears Jimin whisper, just barely.
"No need to be," Jungkook responded, "Why were you walking out this late?" He didn't bother mentioning the attire as well.
Jimin's quiet for a couple seconds, then answers. "Was at a friends house.. they.. offered a ride but I said no."
Jungkook wanted to hold his hand.
He can hear, almost feel, how embarrassed and delicate the fairy was at the moment, punishing himself mentally. Jungkook curses, to himself, though. He shouldn't have brought it up, because now Jimin is possibly replaying what happened back at the restaurant.
The same restaurant he sat by himself in for an hour. A slice of cheesecake as the dinner, a reward of being the biggest dumbass to think Park Mina would show up.
"....date?"
"Hm?"
"How was your date.. with my sister?" Jungkook held it all together, releasing a heavy breath and turns the wheel, parking. Of course Jimin is curious. After all, it's his twin.
Jungkook stares for a second or two at the house, then shifts his gaze down to Jimin, appalled at how pretty he looks under the moon. Said boy tilts his head, like a cat, eyes reading pure curiosity.
"Maybe you should ask your sister," He mentions, looking back at the house. Jimin follows, catching what Jungkook saw when he was parking. Mina, peeking through the window curtains, "she knows more than I do."
Jimin didn't say anything when Jungkook opened his door, picking his bag off the vehicle floor and handed it to him when he set a foot onto the moist grass. He felt his sister stare from inside, probably figuring ways to scold him for going out without permission.
"Thank you, Kook." Jimin didn't want to meet the taller's eyes, choosing to admire the glisten of the wet grass. "And for not letting me walk on the streets.. again."
"I need you to be more careful. If you're unable to get a ride from anyone, then just message me or something. Yeah?" Jimin nods, unable to form any words.
"Goodnight, Minie."
"Bye." Jimin stood there, hearing his footsteps, the shut of the door, the start of the ignition, and wheels traveling far down the road.
Jimin can't believe he was able to muster of such a lie on the spot. It took him a couple of seconds, but eventually he trusted his brain this time to come up with an excuse for him instead of going off in a rant about what happened.
How he met up with another random guy. Thought they were going to have a nice dinner, decent conversation, go somewhere else after, maybe hangout at his place, end the night with a kiss on the cheek or something.
Instead, Jimin found out the guy is a total jackass, got too comfortable, found out he also hurt Yoongi, wasn't able to eat a decent meal, felt unvalued, and almost went home with him.
All because he wanted to push out the memory of Jungkook asking Mina out.
Jimin begins to feel everything. The hurt, the distrust, the false hope, the lack of self value, and the heartbreak. A sob rips past his lips, dragging his feet across the lawn and looks up to see the already expected person, holding a stern expression, turning into worry the more he sobbed.
The guilt.
"N-noona.." He croaks, falling apart under Mina's supervision when she opened the door.
It was very rare for Jimin to use the formality term, since they were only four-minutes apart.
Though when he did, Mina knew it was when Jimin is in his most fragile and delicate state, trusting no one else but his older sister to take charge and take care of him. To heal his wounds, care for his being, and fix whatever it is that her baby brother is going through.
And seeing Jimin crying in front of her made her immediately take him in, forgetting everything it is that she wanted to scold him for.
"Noona.." Jimin cries, face buried deep into her shoulder as the sense of his sisters warmth and natural scent enveloped him entirely. They seat themselves on the bench swing they had on their porch.
A gift their father made for them on their birthday, each of their initials graved on either arm rest.
"Sh.." Mina coaxes. She kept her arms around her brother, trying to make him relax as his shoulders shake every now and then, leaving rubs on Jimin's back in assurance, "Minie, it's okay. What's wrong?"
"I-I'm," Jimin breaks, "I'm so sorry. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have yelled like that at you, with disrespect and in front of the wh-whole school. I'm so sorry, Noona." He babbled, trying his all to get everything out.
Tears streamed down his cheeks, to which he messily wipes away. He regrets wearing a white top.
"Minie, relax. It's okay, it's okay. Just relax, yeah?" His sister softly speaks, opposite to how he stutters, "I accept your apology. I do. I need you to tell me what is wrong though, I know you... you're not okay.."
Jimin and Mina know one another like the back of their hands. A bond no one else but them had for each other. Their parents knew them well too, except they can spiritually tell what's going on in the others mind just by taking one look at them.
Keeping this in mind, Jimin really had no other option but to tell Mina everything that he went through. After cursing at her disrespectfully and improperly apologizing, she deserves to know what's going on with him.
Even if it's a topic they both don't share with one another..
"I went on a date–"
"With who?!" Mina exclaimed, softness all forgotten as she distanced themselves to take notice of the way her brother is dressed. Jimin sat still, wiping away all the tears to look somewhat decent for when he was gonna bring up something he will later on regret.
"Let me finish, please." Mina blinks, but eventually nods and listens.
"I've..." This is harder than I thought, Jimin thinks, "I've been going out a lot secretly. As you probably know, since, you caught me sneak in once late at night– don't ask why!" He cut off the expression his sister wore, looking mischievous.
"Mhm."
"I... you're really gonna hate me for this.. like, really really hate me, but–" Jimin decides to spit it out, not finding any other way, "I really really like Jungkook." He waits, silent as he watches Mina look away, pursing her lips. A sign he takes in as a betrayal for liking someone she possibly began liking.
"I like Jungkook. A lot. Since, I believe middle school. When he asked you out that day, I just got really upset. I mean how else are you supposed to feel when your crush asks out your sister?..." Jimin heartbreakingly laughs, "I got jealous. More than before because turns out he's liked you since middle school. Yoongi told us, and yeah. That's why I yelled at you, it just all got to me and I let it control me. I noticed you've been ignoring me too, so I got more upset, but it's my fault for not apologizing.. I'm really sorry, Min."
Mina mutely sits, picking at her nails and not meeting his eyes. She didn't seem mad, nor upset. What is she thinking?
"What happened tonight, Minie." The demand in her soft tone was laced with worries, varying in aspects of Jimin's safety, which he sighs at.
"I met this guy that day after school, Choi Jihoon," Mina freezes, "and yeah, the one from the game. I didn't know at that time and impulsively accepted to go out with him because I was trying to forget about your date with Jungkook. Also, I was bored since I've been standing everyone up. I know it sounds stupid, but it's the truth..." Jimin feels himself getting smaller, "We went to a restaurant and he touched me, and I didn't think anything of it at all. The others then told me who he was and it's all already been going to shit, but right then and there he wanted to take me somewhere for us alone, and I was trying to leave because he's not only a complete jackass, but he hurt Yoongi. I accidentally spilled water on him and he yelled at me, calling me bad names, so I slipped out and keyed his stupid car–"
"You didn't."
"I did. I started walking home and that's when Jungkook found me. And here we are.." Jimin finishes. He doesn't say anything, instead, waits patiently. The night has gotten darker than before, due to the neighborhood's porch lights being turned off, leaving them both in their own little world.
"I'm sorry that happened, Minie." Jimin shrugs, "But you need to be more careful with who you're going out with. I know you've been out with people a lot, but I know them through friends so that's why I haven't said anything and let you do your own thing.. I know this kind of stuff is something we don't talk about but I still look over you." The confession didn't surprise Jimin, at all. He expected her to be upset, or yell at him.
"I'm sorry.."
"It's okay. At least your home," Mina sighs, "I was getting worried, tried texting you, and told Dad you're at Taehyung's– they're literally all in your room, actually." Jimin snorts, wiping away one last fallen tear.
They sit there for a couple of seconds and Jimin feels much better than before. Weight lifted off his shoulders, no more barriers between them. No more secre–
"I should tell you some things too, since we're in the middle of confessions.." Mina breaks their silence. Seeing the way she nervously tucks her hair behind her ear, Jimin begins deeply wondering what series events she's gone through with guys.
They didn't hurt her? Right?
"I, uh.." She also tucks one leg under her knee, then looks at Jimin, "I like Hyunwoo."
Wait, wh–
"Hyunwoo?" Jimin sits up, big eyes widening, "The water boy? Coach's son? The senior you tutor? Book club president? Big glasses? Deep dimple? Sometimes wears collard shirts? Really tall?" Jimin lists off anything he can get off from Hyunwoo, to which Mina nods to at everything he says.
Jimin imagines them side by side together, an image not everyone has ever thought of since Hyunwoo doesn't involve himself in socializing with anyone else but the members of some nerdy clubs they have. He's also one of the sweetest boys ever, remembering how he brought a batch of cookies in welcome of entering their home on his first tutor day. It's a cute pair.
"Yeah. That Hyunwoo... and he's not a water boy!" Mina admitted shyly.
"Since when?" Jimin wanted to know everything, leaning in to lay his body against his sisters in comfort. He can tell she's getting too nervous herself. Also, he wanted warmth.
Mina picks up his hand, lacing them together and using her free hand to rub anywhere else his bare hand was exposed to in order to warm it up.
"Since I started the tutor program in sophomore year. I went to the meeting and he was there, talking about bookclub and I was about to join, but I really hate books." Jimin knows this, scoffing, "That day, I saw him sign up in need for a literature tutor and I signed up to tutor him after already picking up four students in other subjects."
"So you only picked up another subject for this guy? A subject you hate?" Jimin asks, then feels her head rest on top of his, nodding.
"Hyunwoo is so cute. Remember when he brought cookies? I knew he was respectful and really nice to everyone, so I started liking him. I didn't tell anyone, not even my friends since I was too shy. I didn't tell you either, because I thought you would talk him into asking me out or something like that.."
What a coincidence.
"I started thinking that I was being too much of a coward and decided to, you know, flirt with him. I already had his number because of tutoring so I texted him more, and even called. But Hyunwoo really isn't like other guys. He didn't really flirt back or anything because he's too respectful or didn't even know what I was trying to do." Mina sharply inhales through her nose, getting serious. Jimin keeps his thoughts in, allowing her to continue and listens.
"That night, at the basketball game, I brought Hyunwoo's rough draft paper on purpose so that I could talk to him. So at the end, I went to get it and I noticed you were looking for me so I told you the truth, but no the intention behind it."
Intention? With a folder?
"I told you that I needed to return it, and that I was gonna skip the get-together dinner and go to the movies instead. I couldn't find Hyunwoo, mostly because I didn't try since I got nervous. I told the girls I was going to head home because I didn't feel well. Everyone was gone by the time I finally left the gym bathroom, and I found Hyunwoo already done with putting everything away and was walking out the gym. I quickly caught up and gave him his folder, we talked a bit, and I freaking kissed him..."
Jimin gasps, "What?!"
"I kissed him. Because, I mean, we were by ourselves at the gym and it seemed like the perfect moment. I told him I liked him.. and he thanked me... then walked away.." Jimin saddens instantly, feeling the hurt his sister went through all in one night. Kinda like the way he did, today.
"Mina.. is that why.." Jimin didn't finish. The mute nod answers, finally, why she walked in that night into his room. Pretty face covered in heartbreaking tears as she slipped in his bed, leaving Jimin to wonder what was the reason for his sisters state.
"Not only that, the rough draft was all he needed to type up and turn in as his final. So that was the last time I saw Hyunwoo, since he didn't need a tutor for the next semester. The next day, when Jungkook asked me out, I just accepted and didn't think anything of it at that time. I was too upset for being rejected.. I really liked him. I still do.."
"I'm so sorry." Jimin sighs, hugging Mina in comfort. She didn't cry or anything, instead, hugged him back silently.
"It's okay..." She said.
“How was your date though?"
"I didn't go."
Jimin didn’t think Mina was capable of doing such a thing whatsoever.
The way she sat there, looking innocent while playing with the tips of her hair made her almost not look like a completely different person in the inside. Who switched his twin?
“You what.”
“I know, I know! I’m sorry!” Mina exclaimed.
Jimin’s mouth dries, “Jeon Jungkook? The star captain? Stood up? By Park Min–” Mina’s hand flies to cover his mouth, stopping him to finish the shocked realization of two people that everyone expected to happily be together by now, had not initiated the day. Much to Jimin’s pleasure.
“I have a reason.” She says, confidently. Jimin raises an eyebrow, not bothering to move away the hand, watching Mina reach inside her back pocket, “Hyunwoo texted me today, look.” After removing her own hand, Jimin takes the phone into his possession and reads the words displayed in the conversation between Hyunwoo and Mina.
[hyunwoo<3:] can you meet me somewhere? whenever you can?
There really isn’t a conversation, since Mina, till this moment, has not bothered replying to the guy. Jimin lifts his eyebrows, gawking at the twin.
“I hate you right now,”
“I was getting ready and he sent me that. I went to look for you and ask for help on what I should say, but then Taehyung said you went somewhere!” Jimin praises his best friend for not ratting him out, even if there’s no point now. Returning her phone, Jimin taunts teasingly.
“Poor guy is probably still staring at his phone screen waiting for you text..”
Mina looks too focused to notice the tease behind her brothers words, leaning in desperately in suggestive help, “What do I say?!” She asks, hitting his arm.
“Tell him to meet up right now, here at our house,” Jimin confirms, getting back to serious mode, “Because since it’s late, we can see if he’s actually serious with you. Or if he has a bed time.”
“Doubt it,” Mina snorts, already had put his suggestion into action, holding up her phone, “since he said he’s on his way.”

Chapter Text
Everyone started off their first couple of days into the second semester smoothly. No more pressure carried on their shoulders about projects, essays, tests, everything that they've stressed about last minute.
New schedules were handed out, and to Jimin's disappointment, the classes he has with either of his friends was only one, and luckily, it was Taehyung for chemistry. His least favorite subject. But Mina is also in that class, with a couple of her friends.
Jimin didn't allow the absence of his friends in classes affect his mood, instead, he kept a smile on his face when both Mina and him arrived to school on time, greeting anyone that wished them a good morning.
His backpack feels lighter compared to a couple days ago, carrying textbooks he returned to the library and notebooks he no longer needed.
As they made their way towards Jimin's locker, a new face came to view that already had Mina taking steps faster than Jimin's natural paced ones.
Hyunwoo met Mina the rest of the way, bringing a smile to Jimin's face at the pretty red rose he handed Mina before giving her a proper hug and a kiss on the head.
Everyone stared, aweing at the scene, some taking not-so-secretive photos, and smiled at the pair.
That night, when Mina texted Hyunwoo accepting the meetup, he had showed up quicker than Jimin thought, based from seeing him through his second floor bedroom window where he had shoved his friends away from in order to give the twin and the nervously shy boy time alone to talk and sort things out.
And the result was that Hyunwoo felt the same.
Mina went off into a rant that night when he tucked himself in her bed after his friends and Hyunwoo had left, listening to his twin sister unconsciously pace around her room while explaining that Hyunwoo was indeed nervous because the night she kissed him, he couldn't find it in himself to confess and return his own feelings, since he hasn't been with any other girl since his freshman year. And that since Mina is pretty popular, he was cautious about how everyone would react to them together.
"He asked me out! And I said yes!" Mina squealed, hopping into her bed, and ended the night cuddling with Jimin to sleep.
"My mom's roses bloomed, so I brought you one." Jimin hears Hyunwoo while he turned the dial to his locker. Mina shrieks, muffled thank you's indicating she's probably smothering the boy in the middle of the hallway.
"Best boyfriend ever!~" Mina praises, appearing at her own locker next to Jimin's.
Jimin is over the moon for the both of them, not ever thinking Hyunwoo was his twins perfect match and is glad he is. Hyunwoo is a good guy, and so far has made Mina the happiest she has ever been.
"Good morning, Minie." The said guy wishes.
Looking over, Jimin holds himself back from cooing at the pressed pink kiss mark on his cheek, standing behind Mina while making her seem even more shorter compared to his height, holding her hand patiently.
"Morning, Woo." Jimin replied, shutting his locker to reveal the group of friends approaching from down the hall, "I'll catch you in first period, Mina!" He heads off without a response, smiling.
Meeting up with the others, Jimin counts them and notices one missing. Before he could ask about Jin's absence, Yoongi speaks up with a pout, "Your sister and Hyunwoo are so cute together."
Smiling, Jimin agrees, "Right?"
"Jin-hyung is with Namjoon right now. I don't know if there's something going on or he decided to ditch us for his boyfriend." Hobi snorts, leading the walk down the hallway.
Jimin is also happy about the very recently new pair. Two days new, to be exact.
Namjoon and Jin have been talking for a while, as everyone knows, and Joon finally took it upon himself to take out the impatient older, confirming a relationship.
"And there they are." Taehyung said, throwing an arm over Jimin's shoulders.
Up ahead was the said pair, hand in hand walking towards them with Jin's mouth talking about whatever has Namjoon watching intently with interest.
But not far off was another guy, holding a comically bored look while rolling his eyes.
"Something you want to contribute? Jungkook?" Jin glares, arriving with the others.
"No, hyung. I love listening about your upcoming Valentine's Day plans with Joon."
"Good. We're excited, right Joonie?"
"Right." Namjoon instantly confirms, a solid nod of his head.
Everyone hearing about Mina and Hyunwoo wasn't something they took in immediately. They all expected to come to school on Monday with news about Mina and Jungkook's date that never happened. As more days progressed, Jungkook himself didn't even seem bothered about the new couple, like nothing happened.
Him and Jungkook haven't properly conversed since the night he drove Jimin home. But Jimin isn't in a rush or anything, he decided to let things flow and allow things to happen on its own.
"See you guys at lunch!" Jimin concludes, taking Taehyung's hand to drag off to a different hall that led them to their first period together. Chemistry.
"Let's wait for Jungkook," Taehyung stops them both, waiting for the said boy to catch up, “he’s in our class anyways.”
"T'sup guys?" Jungkook greeted, smile displayed on his handsome face that made Jimin turn around in order to stop staring at, letting the two youngest follow behind him to their shared class.
"Sup," Taehyung greets, "Did you do the homework yesterday?"
I did.
"We had homework?" Jungkook realizes. Jimin giggles, shaking his head as they entered the classroom as Taehyung let out a hefty laugh, mentioning that he didn't do the homework either before taking his seat at the lab table in front of them.
This semester, lots of things changed. Only one of them didn't, it being that Jungkook and Jimin are partners this semester in the lab table behind Taehyung and Mina's.
"I lied," Jimin looks at Jungkook, curious as to why he's whispering while showing a sheet, "I did do the homework."
Guess Mina's tutoring paid off.
"Nice," Jimin praises, settling his bag on the ground after placing his needed materials on the lab table, "I knew Mina isn't that dumb."
"Dumb about what?" Jimin freezes, making eye contact with his twin sister who takes her seat next to a snorting Taehyung.
"Nothing," He quickly answered, unknowingly hitting Jungkook in the stomach after catching his fake shocked expression, “Dumb about nothing.”
"Mhm," Mina glared. She turns around, facing the board.
Class started off like they usually do. They took the first chunk to evaluate the question of the day and share answers with the class until their teacher felt satisfied enough about the their combined knowledge in order to move on. So after Jungkook and Jimin took their turn sharing, it was Jungkook's who took the turn to propose something to Jimin.
"Minie,"
"Hm," Jimin hummed quietly, regretfully turning to catch Jungkook's big doe eyes looking back at him.
If he were to lean in, it would be like looking into a black mirror as he saw his reflection in the dark starry orbs.
"Do you think you can help me with the worksheet Mrs. Lee passed out the other day?"
Jimin raises an eyebrows. "We don't have the same class, Jungkook."
He returns the knowing look, "I know."
"Mina's in yours, ask her,”
"I know," Jungkook laughed, "but I want your help."
Jimin gets butterflies, seeing as how Jungkook insisted on getting help from him rather than his sister, someone the bunny boy is friends with. He didn't think anything of it, since there's nothing to really be jealous of. Yet he couldn't help but allow the self-value from his crush bloom.
"Yeah, sure, I'll help."
"Thank you," Jungkook grinned, eyes crinkling a bit at the corners, "I'll bring you something as a gift."
Jimin giggles, "You don't need to."
"Shush. Everyone knows the Park twins love gifts." At that, Jimin takes notice of the rose being acknowledged at the moment, safely and securely being held by his sister that Hyunwoo gifted her.
I mean, he's not wrong.
"I'll meet you at your car then, I'm guessing you don't want me walking on the stree–"
"Park Jimin. Jeon Jungkook. Is there something you both would like to share with the class?" Mr. Sung's raspy voice catches both of their attentions. Everyone else’s too, turning their heads in sync.
Taehyung wiggles his dark eyebrows mischievously as Mina smirks at the caught duo.
"No, Mr. Sung."
"Sorry, Mr. Sung." Jimin and Jungkook replied, ignoring looks of curiosity and whispering exchanged to one another from their peers. Mr. Sung stares at them suspiciously for a couple of seconds, Jimin keeping his up top-student stance as he straightens his back, holds his head up high, and places his hands on the surface of his lap.
Jungkook looks at him in awe.
"Alright then. Keep it down."
"Meet me at my car then,"
Meet him at his car. Meet him at his car. Meet him at his car. Jimin repeated throughout the entire school day without him even knowing it.
It didn't grow annoying at all.
Even as he lacked paying any attention to his other classes or unable repeat one thing either of his teachers said.
His mind was on a continues loop that varied of where exactly Jungkook plans on holding their own personal study session.
At his house? My house? The park? What about the librar–
"Do you mind giving your soulmate proper attention?" Jimin snaps out of his daydream, looking at the source of the voice who looks back at him with boredom. Jimin leans off the locker he propped himself against, waiting for Taehyung to finish up putting the remainder of his belongings inside.
"What are you even thinking ab– oh my god, you're still hung up on that?" Taehyung retorts.
Jimin whines, punishing himself for even saying a peep about his and Jungkook's plans to the others during lunch. That includes Mina and her friends that couldn't contain themselves to not listen.
They fed off him like wild hyenas, asking where Jungkook is taking him and other nonsense things that didn't have correlation to math or tutoring.
"I'm not hung up, Tae!"
Taehyung shuts his locker, "Yes, you are. Don't think so hard about it or you're going to shit yourself in front of him."
Jimin falls into step with Taehyung, the contrasted best friend duo leading themselves out their schools building and under the beaming bright sun. Jimin is glad all that harsh cold weather is finally gone. He missed the beautiful sunlight.
"That's gross," He gagged, curling his features into a grossed out expression that has Taehyung barking a laugh at, "I would never."
"Okay, princess Minie," The younger of the two mocked, using the nickname that made the older scowl every time it was said, "and look who's coming."
On cue, Jungkook appears, once again, in all his glory with the sunlight cascading above his fluffy hair, creating a halo that made him more of an angel that he already was.
"I'm here to take the princess away," Jungkook played along.
Did Jimin say the name made him scowl?
Sorry, he meant blush.
"Bring him back at dawn. I get worried for his pretty little self-being." The last three words Taehyung says we're added with quick pats on top of Jimin's head, turning on his heel and off he went to join the others.
Jimin huffs, blowing away fallen bangs from his eyes, "I hate him." He states.
Jungkook snorts, opening the passenger door of the Jeep. "Could've fooled me."
The diner they arrived to was somewhere Jimin and everyone else is familiar with. Adding that the building is fairly new and had gotten pretty popular around town because of its delicious food and chill environment.
Jimin shared a thankful closed mouth smile to Jungkook, a silent thank you after he has opened the passenger door twice without him asking him too.
“I don’t really feel like eating right now,” Jimin admitted, finding a table for them to sit at. A booth in the corner of the diner, red leather looking more vibrant under the sunlight. The leather feels cool though, showing that no one has sat there before them.
“That’s okay. We can get something later,” Jungkook assures, opening his backpack.
Jimin does so too, pulling out Mrs. Lee’s most recent assigned homework that was reason for him being there in the first place. He shoves aside notebooks, pulling out the pastel yellow one that belonged for the subject.
“Oh! Here’s the gift I got for you,” Jimin looks up, curious to see what exactly Jungkook is using to pay off his time.
But since it was Jeon Jungkook, their time together is zero at charge. Especially if he gets to be the reason for the gift the basketball holds out to him.
“I saw them online and they reminded me of you, so, yeah– do you like them?”
Jimin’s mouth open and closes, eventually forming into its famous unconscious pout as his eyebrows curve in sad-happiness.
He takes the clear wrapped package from the boy across from him, who seemed like an excited elementary student giving their favorite teacher a shiny red apple.
“Y-You got me this?” Jimin felt excited holding the package of cute Japanese stationary pens, varied in different colors and designs.
One had a black and white panda bear as the top, the pink a pink pig, a gray mouse, and a navy blue bear. There was also one with a a pink bunny pendant, and two cute calico cat ones that catches his eye first.
“Do you like them?” Jungkook tries assuring again, “I noticed you were into those kinds of cute things.” Jungkook explains like the gift was nothing too troubling, all while Jimin was figuring out ways on how to bring the moon to Jungkook.
“Yes! Thank you!” Jimin shrieked, taking action and clicked the bunny pen, deciding to test it out.
Thank god, it’s a jelly ballpoint. His now new favorite writing utensil.
“Here, since this one reminds me of you, I’ll give you this one,” Jimin takes one of the calico cat pens, gifting it to Jungkook who chuckles.
“Thanks.”
Jungkook payed close attention to whenever Jimin explained something that he will later use to apply to the other difficult equations left on the sheet. He would catch himself toothless smiling whenever Jimin said a word that would cause him to form a duck pout, admiring his lashes too as he read with his gaze pointed downwards.
Minutes later they both worked on their own respective sheets, Jimin leaving off Jungkook after promising he understood, wanting to prove his point as he glazed across the equations with somewhat ease. Jimin, on the other hand, was too busy playing with his new pens after finishing.
I knew he’d like them.
“Done,” Jungkook slides the paper towards the fairy, capturing his attention, “I don’t think they’re right.”
Just barely, he hears whatever words Jimin breaths out of his mouth, at times punching in numbers into his calculator with practice like he’s does this in his sleep. For Jungkook, his large fingers always accidentally press something he didn’t attend to. So watching Jimin’s delicate little ones, it brought warmth to him, wanting to hold his hand.
“No, you got them all right.” Jimin claimed, returning the completed sheet.
Jungkook’s eyes widen a bit, shocked himself at his ability.
“Really?”
“Yeah. You can simplify the fractions if you want, but it’s still the same answer as a decimal.” Jungkook nods, sighing in relief.
“You’re really a math genius, huh?”
“Somewhat. Sometimes I have Mina help me, since I prefer literature..” Jimin admits.
Jungkook relaxes, watching the customers that have arrived five minutes after they did, leaving behind a spotless table and empty stacked plates. Unlike their table, containing opened notebooks and loose papers.
“Your sister helps you?” Jungkook repeated.
Mina didn’t affect him as much anymore.
“If I help her with writing in return,” Jimin laughs.
Not the way Jimin’s eye smile did without him even trying.
How could Jihoon date someone like him?
“What?” Jungkook blinks once. Then twice, appalled at seeing Jimin’s deeply curious gaze pierce through him. It takes him a while to realize he voiced his thoughts.
Jungkook coughs. “Nothing. Nothing.”
“What about Jihoon?” The smaller sits back, opposite from the way Jungkook did in relaxation, his seemed offended wise.
“It’s nothing, I wasn’t thinkin–”
Jimin glares. “Apparently you were. You think Jihoon is too superior to date someone like me?”
Fuck. Jungkook curses, fighting ways to save himself from drowning in the dangerous waters he’s suddenly thrown in.
His own fault. He really ruined the moment he was enjoying between them.
“No, Minie, I didn’t mean to say that.”
“But it’s what you were thinking. The way you said it, that is. After all, at least my date showed up..” He spat.
Jungkook almost flinches, shocked how tense the atmosphere became seeing the way Jimin crosses his arm over his chest, lips pulled into a straight line. The lip beak all gone.
The words they formed hit harder, making his heart skip a or two.
Frowning deeply, he replies. “I would’ve known how to properly take care of my date, though.”
He knows. Jimin instantly regrets ever mentioning the mumble he caught from the boy sitting across. He didn’t think would escalate so quickly, but taking his stubbornness, he’s not surprised at how quick reflex was to immediately build his walls up high and do whatever it took to protect his self worth.
Jimin stares at the doodles below him, admiring their small variation of color choices.
Blue, black, red, and pink ink.
He likes the bunny pen the most. It writes in pink.
“Look, I’m sorry for even thinking that. It’s not what I was trying to imply...” Jungkook carefully says. But Jimin nods, guilt eating up the apologies he wanted to throw to the star player.
After toeing the ground, Jimin finds it in himself to speak words.
“What did you try to imply...?” Shyly lifting his gaze, Jungkook is seen toying with the calico cat pendant. It glimmers brightly under the sun bursting through the glass window, blinding Jimin for a split second.
“I heard everything that happened that night,” Jungkook confesses, “I was on the other side... waiting for your sister to show up. I heard you guys talk, the table shake, him yell at you, and realized you left him.”
Now it really was the time to truly feel embarrassed to a far extent.
Jimin scoffs, shaking his head in disbelief at the way the situation sounded from a different point of view, sounding just as bad from his perspective.
They sat quietly, Jungkook doing nothing but neatly twirl the pencil around his thumb, and Jimin still having his arms crossed over his chest. They shift though, loosely wrapped around his tummy.
Jimin inhales through his nose, eyes lining out the red squiggle designs on the glossy table. “I didn’t think you’d be there..”
“Yeah,”
“And I’m sorry for what I said. That was really, really shitty of me. I just,” Jimin pauses, but continues when Jungkook makes eye contact, “I’m really upset and embarrassed about what happened that night. So I felt offended at what you said, without even thinking what you tried to imply, like you explained.”
Jungkook nods, “It’s fine. I should keep my thoughts silent next time... but why.. Jihoon?”
Don’t say it.
Jimin swallows, inhaling, “I don’t know..”
You know.
“It happened in like five minutes or something then and there,” Jimin explains, picking at a loose string on the end of his sleeve. He tries hard to not spill the beans, as dumb as that sounds, but it’s habit of his without realizing it as he continues talking, especially with Jungkook listening intently, “After school, well after detention, I ran into him and we talked for a bit. Now I know why he was there in the first place. He was really cute, and I was very upset and jealous at the time.. and vulnerable so I just... I easily said yes to him.”
“Why were you upset?”
Idiot, you’ve said too much.
Jimin shrugs, “I mean, I yelled at my twin sister in front of the whole cafeteria.”
Nice one. That’s it. That is part of the truth, after all.
“I see,” Jungkook concludes, gently setting the pen down. Jimin mentally relaxes, returning to the materials he was playing with, slowly tearing his walls back down, “It makes sense that you would be upset because of that.”
Something changes in Jungkook’s tone that he notices.
A tone where there was more intentions hidden in fact Jimin had thrown at him.
A tone a cop would use on a leading suspect, catching a slip of a confession.
“But what doesn’t make sense is why you were to also be jealous, if all you did was yell at your twin sister... right?”
Fuck.

Chapter Text
Jimin, once again, apprehensively swallowed to push down the sudden realization of just how easily he had sold himself out. The wavering gaze peering at him in constant wonder felt like hot pinches on his skin, silently praying that he won't start sweating then and there.
"Yeah, cause' something else happened that day too, I guess,"
Oh, keep feeding the lion, Minie. Go ahead.
"What was it?" He isn't surprised about that upcoming question, curiosity killing the cat. But he didn't know how to answer Jungkook at that certain point, where there lays a fine line that if he wanted to cross, there was definitely something Jimin had to confess. Since he's also a bad liar, he tries scavenging through his memories of that day and tries pulling random information, like puzzle pieces and trying to complete the picture, shoving each piece together that obviously weren't meant to fit. The product in the end, did not make sense at all.
"I don't," Jimin pauses, "It's nothing."
Jungkook raises his eyebrows, pulling them back down, "Come on. Who's the dude I gotta beat up that made you jealous, huh?"
As much as he tried to ignore, Jimin allowed the butterflies to swarm in his tummy like a flock of birds trapped in a cage. Wings delicately drumming, fluttering in all directions, causing him to shyly smile down.
"You looked pretty down when I asked your sister out," Jungkook says, in quick regret since it seemed his mouth works faster than his brain could to process the words and approve them to be said.
"I did?"
So, this is where it ends?
"Mhm," Jungkook confirmed, "I saw the way hyung pulled you away from the corner of my eye.. you seemed jealous and upset..."
Jimin didn't bother meeting the youngest eyes, too busy with the internal battle going off in his head. The boy is too impossible to pass by and had a way of influencing Jimin so strongly that he could ask him to steal the most valuable diamond and Jimin would do, even if he was in the same state that he's currently in, no escape.
Jungkook admires the boy, mutely staring at the way his head pointed downwards, avoiding him. He didn't mean to point out the jealousy Jimin displayed the day he asked out the twin, remembering how Taehyung escorted the fragile fairy to his first period.
He wondered that day what possibly made him upset, trying to find some sort of clues during Jimin's detention, but the way he enjoyed his time with Hyunwoo whenever they connected eyes made him poke his tongue against his cheek and continue with basketball practice.
"Because you asked my sister out.."
The cushions Jungkook sat on seemed harder than before, flushing colder against his pair of jeans as the revealed sentence starts swirling in his head, stamping against his skull.
Jimin had a problem wit him asking his sister out? Was it a protective thing?
Jungkook knew himself too, at times. He knows just how slow he is, especially when it comes to putting two and two together for a result. The same way he kept stumbling on those equations, not figuring out what exactly he was supposed to do with the two remaining variables before finally getting his answer.
Because you asked my sister out. Taking that information, Jungkook dug deep into its meaning and set it in a spot where it fit into the aspects of a person that has a reason to even be jealous. Once again, he's pretty slow. But after realizing the ending product, his heart began speeding up in adoration, seeing exactly what happened.
"Jimin," He leaned in, softly speaking, "Do you like me?"
The said boy wanted to disappear. He wished for the ground to open up beneath him and take him down whole. He knew what he was getting into by responding to that, but he was too tired of carrying secrets to himself. Jimin remembered the feeling of what it was like when he told Mina his secret, the way the weight had physically dissolved off his shoulders, knowing he no longer had to carry it with him.
"Y-Yeah... I do.."
And there it was. Jimin allowed his breath to drag on, exhaling while his shoulders raised.
"Yes. I like you, Jungkook, a lot. Since middle school, to be in fact." Nothing really isn’t stopping him at this point, "And I got jealous when I found out you liked my twin sister the entire time, because I wanted to be the one you liked."
The loose papers that sported his little signature, a cursive P.M., looked all too spread out for him to properly peel up and shove in his backpack. As for the pens, all he needed to do was scoop them up and toss inside to later fix and put away properly when he got home, before going to cry in his bed and allow his mouth the ramble on and on to Mina about how he confessed his feelings to the school's star player and left after being rejected, broken-heartedly.
But that exactly didn't happened. The papers whiteness had Jungkook's hand displayed on top, covering the completed equations he went through, facing up in gesture for Jimin's own small one.
"You're not gonna let my hand get cold now, are you?" Jimin's tongue slacked dryly in his mouth, no source of saliva to fix the uncomfortableness of it sticking to the roof of his mouth. He wasn't sure if Jungkook was playing around with him at the moment, or had probably disregarded the entire confession itself to ease the tension. He would be disappointed if it were the second one.
Jimin shyly drops his hand in Jungkook's large, warm one. Softly smiling at the size comparison between the two.
Jungkook's hand felt rough in some areas, having gone through so many years of holding, dribbling, shooting, passing, and swatting basketballs since the first time he played the said sport.
As for Jimin's, they've gone through practice of lathering lotion, properly taking care of his hands and holding cutely designed pencils, neatly writing for hours upon hours of studying and revising notes with adorable stationary sets that matched the aesthetic of his soft personality.
So different, but it felt so right.
"You're very cute," Jungkook's rough fingers enveloped Jimin's tiny ones. The comment shot into his self esteem praised heart, butterflies returning to his stomach, "And very delicate, and sweet." At that, Jungkook gives Jimin's hand a subtle soft squeeze.
"T-Thank you." Jimin responded, barely since his heartbeat drummed harshly in his ears.
"Which has grown on me to like you too."
"W-What?" Jimin gasped.
Jungkook flicked his attention down at the paper their hands sat on, gently moving them aside and pointed at the famously written signature he hasn't noticed before until now, when he had followed Jimin's gaze earlier after delaying an answer. Picking the paper up, he used his free hand to hold to him, showing exactly what he wanted Jimin to see.
"I thought I liked Mina this entire time," Jungkook smiled softly, "since middle school."
He watches the fairy, looking utterly lost at what he's trying to explain. So after releasing a soft chuckle, Jungkook continued.
"I liked her because I found a pretty Valentines charm in my locker in seventh grade. After school, there was handpicked dandelions wrapped with school tape and a card, with really nice words and some candies." Jungkook smiles widely, remembering the found surprise on Valentine's Day.
"Wanna know what was on the card at the very bottom?"
Jimin caught on, big eyes glistening in shock.
"P.M."
"Turns out P.M. wasn't for Park Mina. But it was indeed you, Park Minie. There is no other person I thought of until now who draws a tiny heart at the top right corner of a cursive M..."
Blinking the tears that shielded over the surface of his eyes, Jimin's emotions ran in astonishment. His little heart felt warm, just as warm as his hand holding Jungkook's, staring at him like he held the stars in those dark brown doe like orbs.
He also remembered that day, crystal clear, the shakiness his hand expressed while opening the locker of none other than Jeon Jungkook’s, before the bell will ring to signal the end of lunch.
"The bell is gonna ring in fifteen seconds!" Taehyung had opened the locker himself, shoving Jimin to do what they were here to do in the first place. He was very angsty, afraid of getting caught by a classmate that will ruin his little best friends plans.
"D-Don't rush me!" Jimin seethed, shyly taking out the mix of sprouted dandelions and yellow dandelion flowers he had picked out from their schools field.
It was spring time, and knowing it was Valentines Day, Jimin stole a now tacky piece of tape from his class and picked out dandelions from the field as much as the tape could hold together, promising himself to gift it to someone already in mind.
"Hurry up then!" Taking a handful of sweets and a handmade card, Jimin put everything inside the young basketball stars locker. It looked out of place, the objects of a few class books, loose crumbled papers, a sweater, and a jersey made it seem his Valentines charm shouldn't be there. It smelled funny too.
"Wait! I need to sign it!" That was the most important part to Jimin. The absence of his name after inspecting the card was okay had him wildly reach for the old wooden pencil that was also in the locker, messily putting his name in the minimal time left.
"Come on, Minie! Five seconds!"
"Okay! Okay!" Jimin smiles in accomplishment, neatly arranging everything in place and took Taehyung's hand, shutting the locker and running away right as the bell rang.
And now here he was, sitting with the same grown boy that had mistakingly read the signature to belong to his twin sister...
Park Mina.
"I cant believe..." Jimin's words fell off in a single breath, laughing as he tilts his head back, "I can't believe you thought it was Mina."
"It's not my fault! Her locker is in the same hall as mine!" Jungkook dramatically mentioned, tightening his hold when he thought Jimin was gonna pull away. And he didn't, which made him smile.
"Still!" Jimin exclaimed, "You liked her because of something she gave you, when it was me the whole time!" A pout takes place on his lips, something he unconsciously did but had Jungkook glance at.
"Put that pout away," Jungkook brings up, "I'm sorry. I really, really am. I should've confronted and asked her about it instead letting it develop feelings right then and there.."
Jimin gnaws his bottom lip, doing as he was instructed and had gotten rid of his pout. At the tip of his tongue though, after everything that's happened, one question broke the surface that he needed an answer to.
"I thought you were straight.."
Jungkook bursts out laughing, unconsciously letting go of his hand as he wailed his body against the back cushion of their booth. Jimin stares, not knowing exactly what to say at the unexpected type of response. It takes Jungkook a few seconds to regain his composure, making Jimin smile a bit when he took back his lonely hand into his large one.
Huffing out one last laugh, Jungkook gains enough air back in his lungs to respond. "I thought I was too, until I met Namjoon hyung on the first day of practice."
This time, it's Jimin's turn burst out in laughter. Though his laughs weren't high pitches wolf howls, they were soft sounds of twinkling bells instead, retaining Jungkook's complete attention.
He's so pretty.
"W-Wait!" Jimin chokes, leaning forward, "You liked Namjoon hyung? As in, Jin hyung's boyfriend? Co-captain? First class rank?" Jungkook confirms them all with an admitted chuckle, showing his breathtaking smile.
"I didn't necessarily like him. I thought he was attractive, that's all."
"So, you're..." Jimin warily says, "Bisexual?"
"Yeah. Since freshman year. Everyone else thinks otherwise since no one see's me intimately with guys." He shrugged, "I didn't know it myself, but I really started liking you in Mrs. Lee's class."
I cant believe I'm not dreaming.
"You're really cute. And smart, nice, and you had cute pencils. My mind was too hung up on your sister to even realize my true feelings have been developing, really. I think I started noticing when Eunwoo asked for me to give you his number, which made me wonder who else you've been talking to."
A bigger flock of birds swarmed inside of Jimin, buzzing at the attention Jungkook has been giving him the entire time. The way he said the last part had him think the bunny boy was jealous, something he didn't know that would make his toes curl.
"So you were jealous?"
"Hell yeah I was. Especially that one day at the diner, with that Sihoon dude or whatever his name is." Jimin giggles, smiling. Jungkook goes back to staring, taking the action to go ahead and lace their fingers, sealing their liking to one another.
"I really had fallen for your sister, and I found her really attractive," Jimin's smile alters. What is he trying to say?, "But I always found you to have the most beautiful smile when you're happy."
Jimin could just melt at his words, cheeks blooming in dusty rose with his crescent eye smile on display.
"We're identical twins,"
"But you're the only one that has that eye crescent smile. The prettiest eye smile." Jungkook's own smile widens, confident at his ability to be cause of the said eyes to form deeper crescents, almost disappearing due to how flustered Jimin became. The fairy Park twins love compliments.
"Prettier than the moon itself." He continued, dodging the thrown free hand at him.
"Stop!~" Jimin whined. He couldn't handle so many emotions at once that made him feel so many different, positive, things. Jimin knows he'll remember this exact day and cherish it, carrying it with him till the day he dies. Just at the way he has the school's most popular guy looking at him like he held the stars in his eyes, and held his hand like he was holding them as well. This day is history in his boo–
"Is that Taehyung?"
Jimin spotted his best friend, walking into the diner in all his glory with something attached to his arm. Something that both Jungkook and Jimin immediately smile at in recognition.
"With Yoongi." Jungkook finishes, chuckling at the pair.
Taehyung nor Yoongi spotted them from their seats in the back of the diner. Especially since Yoongi held a wide smile on his face, hand firmly holding Taehyung's who looked the way he naturally always did, chill. Yoongi's extra hand was used to grip Taehyung's elbow, who led them towards a two seated table. Jimin can almost feel how excited and nervous his hyung looked.
As he secretly watches, he hears a snort.
"Hyung is such a sub– ow!"
"Sh!"
"You hurt m–"
"I'll hurt you more if you ruin my soulmates date!" Jimin threatens, sealing that promise with the way his eyes glimmered at the bunny boy, looking taken back. Getting the point, Jungkook raises his hands in mock surrender, something Jimin wished he didn't since now his hand was lonely again.
"Okay! Okay! I'll shut up!"
Jimin smirks. "Coward,"
"Princess,"
"You did not,"
"I di– ow!"
* * *
Jimin really did not want this night to end. He didn't want the moon to appear, allowing the night to fall around them, signaling that it's near the time for everyone to start making their way home. He didn't want pack his backpack, leave the booth, leave the diner, hop into the Jeep, and have Jungkook drive him home.
He especially didn't want to stop holding Jungkook's hand, firm grip leading them towards Jimin's front door.
"Don't be sad," Jungkook grinned. The smaller's hand felt warm in his own, considering the weather that's slowly beginning to truly feel like spring. He admires Jimin from his stance, wanting to pull his phone out and capture the way those big eyes looked back up at him. The moon made them prettier than they already were, igniting the dark orbs.
"I'm not pouting." Jimin falsely confirms, forcing a tight smile. Jungkook tusks, lightly tapping the bottom of Jimin's chin that helped turned the forced smile into a real one.
"I wanna stay here,"
"Me too," Jungkook supports, swinging their interlocked hands, "But we have school tomorrow."
Jimin sighs. "Indeed we do."
From that point on, neither of them exchanged a word, or dared to cut the comfortable silence between them. It felt nice. Like it was meant to be, them two, standing underneath Jimin's porch light in-front of his door, soft tunes of night crickets from somewhere in the distance playing, and the motion of their hands swinging .
Neither of them wanted to leave.
"Minie,"
"Hm?" Jimin looks back up, thanking the faint porch light from displaying the redness of his cheeks.
"I know I'm gonna stall like I usually do," That's when he starts to really feel it. The faint stutter Jungkook spoke made it sound like he's about to propose something, something more serious than a casual tutor session after school, not including the way the said boy is rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
"Yeah?"
Say it.
Jungkook huffs, widening his smile that turns confident. "I was wondering if you would like to be my boyfriend."
There it is.
Jimin shrieked like a little girl after being told that she's going to Disney land. That involves a light hop in his step that his body naturally performed, motioning his weight against the warm surface of Jungkook's hard, but soft, chest. His fairy tale was finally coming true. Not on the way he envisioned it or discussed with Taehyung and the others, but it was still happening. He only came back to reality when Jungkook rubs his back, laughing full-heartedly.
"Is that a yes?"
"Yess! Yes!" Jimin's excitement shoots through his body down to the tip of his toes, which he stood on, creasing his white converse without a care. Chest to chest, he can see his own happiness through the doe shaped ones, "I'll be your boyfriend."
Jungkook lets an arm snake around to grab hold of the fairy, like he was close to flying away just how he bounced on the tip of his toes adorably. He regrets not asking earlier, and hates himself for not figuring his feelings sooner. All that time was really waisted, realizing he would've been doing this almost a month ago.
"Now I'm your boyfriend," He liked the way that sounded, and to who it was said to. It gave him a boost to his self esteem, tightening his hold on the fairy.
Jimin liked the way it sounded too, muffling his giggles.
“I’ll see you at school?”
Jungkook nods, “Yes. You will.” And much to his regret, he pulled away and felt the warmth disappear, watching Jimin open the door, halfway inside before looking over his shoulder.
“Bye, Jungkookie,”
Jungkook smiles. “Bye, Minie.”
The next morning certainly felt different compared from the previous mornings he’s routinely been through. The only difference was that he truly was more than excited to get to the education building, and see someone who’s just as excited to see him.
“Where’s my sweater!”
“In here!” Jimin called back, hoping his twin sister had heard him.
“Stop yelling!”
“Why is there yelling?!” Their father replies to their mother, causing a round of laughs to wave through the house. Mina welcomes herself in his room, snatching the sweater that Jimin forgetfully has borrowed before.
“This is mine!”
Jimin shoves his necessary books in his bag, tossing it over his shoulder, meeting Mina’s eyes, “It looks better on me!”
“Does not!” She playfully stomped.
“Does too!”
“You’re twins! It looks good on both of you! Now go or you’re going to be late!” The twins dropped the playful banter between them to gear off towards they’re father, smothering him lovingly like nothing happened.
“Have a good day,” He said meaningfully, since it is rare to have the opportunity to send off his twins to school. Jimin hummed, being released from his embrace after feeling a kiss on the top of his head.
“We will,” Jimin promises, giving their mother an equal amount of love before walking out side by side with his sister.
“Im excited to see Hyunie!~” was the first thing Mina had said into their drive towards school. Jimin rolls his eyes, elbow snuggly fit in the very minimal space against the window, coldness sleeping through his long sleeve.
Of course she is. They’ve been dating for almost a month now and acts like they got together yesterday.
“You’re excited because it’s Valentines Day,”
Mina gasps, “But he’s also my boyfriend.”
“A spoiled boyfriend,” Jimin notes, not bothering to mention the high-end paper bag gift sitting in the backseat. Mina spent so many hours at the mall looking for the perfect gift for her Hyunie, saying that he deserved the best of the best, not caring about the cost.
“It’s what he deserves.” Smoothly parking, Jimin gave her a minute or so to collect her own belongings as he jumped out, hiding his own excitement seeing his own boyfriend standing tall and proud at the entrance.
He is in love.
Jungkook treats him so good. Like royalty, almost. A week into their relationship and it became something Jimin will cherish forever, finding it disappointing he can’t have a disc of the memories to watch over and over. Maybe to even play to their future kids. Well, that is if Jungkook wants kids.
“Bye!~”
Jimin blushes to himself, shocked to think of something so far off into the future.
“Hi to you too,” The soft voice laughs, stepping aside to let Mina zoom right past him, everyone knowing who exactly she is geared towards.
Jungkook’s face brightens, Jimin coming into his sight and tightening his grasp on his own gift that the smaller obviously see’s while meeting him the rest of the way.
“And hi to you,” Jimin’s height increases, a tad bit, giving him the ability to press a firm smooch on his lips, a smile behind it as well.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” Jimin announces, pulling out a gift.
In his petite little hands was a black velvet box, which seemed so out of the ordinary in contrast to his soft yellow jumper that drowned his hands.
Jungkook takes the box with one hand, almost struggling to hide his own enormous gift.
“Happy Valentine’s Day baby..” Passing the gift, Jimin gasps in pure happiness as a large teddy bear is pressed into his open arms, hands soon filled with a heart shaped box of, what he assumes, chocolates, and the other hand holding a minimal, yet beautiful set of roses.
He is over the moon.
“You didn’t!” Jimin’s heart would burst if it were humanly possible. It filled with so much love and adoration, soaking the softness of the brown bear and toughness of the roses stems.
Jungkook, on the other hand, felt his own heart explode at the sight of his own meaningful gift that glistened as brightly as Jimin’s eyes.
A moon crescent pendant stares back at him, filled with millions of tiny diamond stones that looked like stars. Many, many stars. It was beautifully displayed in the black box, in front of Jimin who expressed his own moon crescent eye smile.
“Baby,”
“I knew you’re not much of a romantic like me, but I tried finding you the bes–”
Jungkook cuts off Jimin, gently taking him all bundled into his arms, kissing the crown of his head.
“I love it. I do. It’s as pretty as you,” He grinned. Jimin sighs in relief, ignoring the stares and whispers that surrounded them that they’ve gotten used to, “And I love you just as much as the gift.”
“I love you too,” Jimin looks up at him while responding, brightly smiling as he holds his hand, which perfectly fits in his boyfriends large one, “Maybe even more.”
Who would’ve thought that in the end, it wasn’t Mina that Jungkook really fell for.
“I also made you a card,” Jungkook announces, pulling out the said card that brought a swarm of memories, and opens it up, “and I got us tickets to see Mamamoo.”
Jimin really loves Jungkook to the moon and back. He would make an infinity amount of Valentine cards back in middle school if he knew this a where he would be today...
“You what?!”
... holding Jungkook’s hand.
