Work Text:

“So, there’s an art exhibit downtown on Valentine’s Day if you’d like to go.”

Taehyung doesn’t even bother looking up from his sketchbook. “Can Seokjin come?”

Namjoon feels his brow crumple. Seokjin is Taehyung’s on-and-off-again boyfriend, a man so handsome that Namjoon’s pretty sure he’d be half in love with him too if he wasn’t so head over heels for Taehyung. Namjoon was sure of the fact that Taehyung was now single again, but maybe Jimin meant something different when he told him that Taehyung was interested in him.

“If he wants to,” Namjoon murmurs, wincing when he realizes how desolate he sounds.

“Cool. It’s a date. Wear something nice, I can’t have my dates embarrass me in front of my art friends,” Taehyung replies, tilting his head up to smile at Namjoon after he has finished his sketch.

“D-Dates?” Namjoon stutters, stunned in the face of Taehyung’s bright smile and distracting beauty.

Taehyung’s grin slants at an angle then, his brows furrowing together in thought. “Yeah. You’re cool with polyamory, right? Jiminnie said you were.”

Namjoon blinks stupidly at the younger man until his words register in his brain and all the information he has gathered over the past few months suddenly makes a lot of sense. It seems like all those times Namjoon has seen Taehyung make out with people who were not Seokjin hadn’t been because he was single after all.

Well, Namjoon can work with that.

“Yes!” Namjoon blurts, practically falling over himself to assure Taehyung of his relative coolness. “I’m cool. Totally cool.”

“Alright. I’ll text you about the details later then.” Taehyung’s grin softens as he turns back to his sketchbook. “Seokjin’s gonna love you.”

Namjoon flushes, hands tangling together. “I’m sure I’ll love him too.”
