That's Not How The Force Works

Summary:

She looked up to face him. And when she spoke again he could hear that her grave, cracky voice held wonder and doubt.
"I've always felt this. Like some sort of energy around me and around other people, and in some cases I can swear I heard Luke's voice in my head. I'm a strange princess, Han." She joked, and he held a lock of hair between his fingers before carefully putting it behind her ear.
"Can you feel me?" He asked, holding his hand up. She touched it with hers, both palms mimicking each other. Leia's was so small, he thought.
She closed her eyes for a dramatic effect and focused on him. Her chest felt warm, as a blue light seemed to hover in front of her, but it wasn't simple like that, it was more of an indescribably familiar feeling, but different at the same time.
"I can. You're very annoying." She said softly and he laughed.

Chapter Text

The first time he brought it up was on Endoor, way too soon, if you ask her. The mere idea of having a brother wasn't settled on her mind. A twin brother. Half of her just as she was his half... And the mere thought of Luke's father being connected to her in any way made her sick. She had a father, Bail, and no one could ever say the contrary.
And the war wasn't even over yet. Some people said that she was wrong, but as long as any remnant of Empire's command was active, Leia couldn't and wouldn't relax.
She had so much to think about.
"Whatcha thinking, sweetheart?" He said, running his long fingers over her arm. Up, almost close to her recent wound that was still a sore. He didn't touch but she flinched anyway, retreating from him and hugging her waist.
"A lot."
"I see..."
"Do you? Thank gods you're not blind." Han laughed a little at that, leaning over the boxes of rations. She sat on her desk and shot a look at him before starting to type something on her datapad. "I have much more work than you do, General, so if you don't need anything, close the door when you leave, please."
She said that much more politely than she intended, for some reason. Maybe because she wasn't really mad that he asked.
"If it's about yesterday, I..."
"No, Han. It's not. Relax. I'm fine with your mission, I promise."
He exhaled, drummed his fingers on the boxes, and waited.
"Han?" She said without looking up.
"What?"
"What, WHAT"?
"I'm not leaving until you tell me what's bothering you."
"Uh, it's nothing. Seriously."
"It doesn't seem like nothing to me. C'mon..." He closed the door with his foot. The room was so small that he almost didn't fit in there.
"It's Luke... He's... Pressuring me. You know how he can make someone insane with how insistent he is."
"Hell, I do."
"He's totally into this search for learning, and meaning, and I get it! But it's just too much right now, you know?"
"Wait. He wants you to become some sort of Jedi?"
"Full sabacc." She confirmed. Han looked a little bit angry.
" He can't force you, no matter how much of the Force he has."
"Yes, I know." Leia said with a smile.
"So what's the matter, then? Just punch him in the face, he'll get it eventually."
"Not everything is that simple."
"But this subject is, Leia. You don't want, you'll never want it, period."
"Han, I don't... That’s YOUR opinion, not mine. Maybe I should."
"WHAT?"
"I knew you'd be like that." She said disappointedly. "You're too extremist about this."
" I thought you loved me."
"You sound like a fifteen-year-old girl, lunk." Leia said.
"Look, princess, it was kind of a big deal for me when I asked you to marry me last night, I don't know about you."
"You don't have to say that to me, hotshot. You sure don't." She leaned back in her chair.
"Oh, yeah? But I am saying."
"This has absolutely nothing to do with me and Luke, Solo! You know it!"
"Oh, it hasn't? So tell me, your Jedifullness, why everybody says that Jedi can’t get married, huh?"
"Jedifullness?! For Alderaan’s sake, Solo, you’re talking nonsense."
"No, I'm not. Luke can't even think about something else, he's changed."
"You can't be serious... Luke just grew up, he's not a farmboy anymore."
"Well, I liked the farmboy." Leia sensed fear in his voice just as much as disappointment. She got up and quietly took his hands.
"You're afraid I'm going to become my brother."
"Maybe!" He frowned with impatience.
"And..." She knew he'd say more.
"And I'm afraid you'll get hurt, Leia! Okay? Luke doesn't have one hand. Are you happy now?"
"Pretty much." She said with a laugh and laid her head on his chest. Inhaling deeply, her voice came quietly. "I don't know what to say to you. I don't even know what I want."
"You're Leia Organa. You always know what you want."

"I can. You're very annoying." She said softly and he laughed.
"Okay, hon, I'll better go see the boys and set up my ship to leave."
"Yes." Han gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
"See you in three days! And don't forget to tell Luke."
"About the wedding, I didn't even plan?"
"No, that you're gonna train with him." He said with a half-smile.
"I love you."
"And I know." He blew a kiss for her and she felt like a teenager. This man was fifteen years older than her and sometimes he acted like a boy.
She put her hand on her chest for a second, still feeling the same warmth like Han's scent lived in there somewhere. That was a step, but Leia knew that the Force was much more complicated than that.
