Huaisang sticks his tongue out at Mingjue. “I bet you’re just mad because you talked to Xichen-ge and he brutally rejected you, again.”
“Okay, first of all, I was never ‘brutally rejected,’ I was turned down very gently and we were still friends until I graduated,” Mingjue says, ignoring Huaisang’s obvious eyeroll. “Second, we spoke for like two minutes and half of it was about you. He says hello, by the way. Third, even if I were still interested in him, which I’m not, he isn’t interested in me. He said we should ‘get coffee sometime’ and gave me his business card.”
“Ouch,” Huaisang says with a wince. “Like, his personal card or the one from the hospital?”
“The one from the hospital.” Mingjue pulls it out of his pocket to show his brother. “It’s a very nice, impersonal card.”
