Midoriya Izuku was feeling good. They had just beat a rowdier gang of villains, and they felt as deserving of One For All as they had ever felt.
Of course, then there was the vultures-sorry, they meant press. Aizawa-sensei was a bad influence, okay?
So, when a microphone was thrust into their face, they just smiled and waited for the question.
“Deku, this is Kaiyou Shio from Channel 5 News, airing on WSKID Radio and live on TV and online at the minute! Deku, my viewers have been asking, what do you identify as They’ve seen you as a female, as a male, and they want to know which one you actually are!” Aah, Kaiyou Shio. One of his favorite reporters. She was incredibly young, and she helped collect interviews for her mother. She was actually accepted into UA, and it was her waiting period right now.

Oh right! Question!
Gender, yikes….
“Deku?”
“Hero!” That was not supposed to come out, why panicking brain, why do you do this to me…
Kaiyou just looked amused. They realized the joke they were set up for, and embarrassment melded into hilarity.
“No, are you male or female?” People would have to be deaf to hear the joking tone the girl took. Deku grinned.
“Pro Hero!”
“No, what’s in your pants?”
“HEROISM!!!” Both of them doubled over laughing, the joke having been completed.
From beyond the tape and out of earshot from the hero, someone listening to the interview on WSKID Radio snorted and started dying.
Kaiyou wiped under her eye, tearing up from laughter. Her voice was wheezy when she spoke next.
“Seriously, Deku, what gender be you? The fans are on the edge of their seats!” Well, after that, there is no way that actually coming out to the world can go too wrong now!
“I’m actually gender fluid! So, hey world, it’s me, ya local genderfluid #1 Hero! Today, I’m nonbinary!”
That could have gone smoother.
Oh well! Time to go die of embarrassment in their bed shared with Mind Seize and Frostburn!
