Chapter 1: [Fluff] Sweet Moments [Kakyoin Noriaki]
Chapter Text
It was a Saturday afternoon with the sun shining brightly onto the people that roamed the streets. You could hear the children running about with their parents looking after them at a park nearby. Almost everyone walking around had a smile on their faces, either alone or being with a group of people. I whizzed past all of these civilians as I grabbed Kakyoin's hand. I ran towards the sweet store that was right next to our school which was open with many customers in it.
"Kakyoin, hurry up! I'm hungry!" I told him while laughing.
"Alright (Y/N)!" He responded with a smile. We dashed to the entrance of the store and slowed down. We walked into it with the sweet smell of candy, cookies, cakes, and chocolate filling the air. We started looking around at all of the different treats with our eyes already feasting on it. Still holding onto his hand, I led him over to the candy section.
"Kakyoin, you really like cherries, don't you?" I asked. He nodded and started looking at the different sorts of candies there were. I quickly reached my hand into the jar which had cherry-flavored hard candies and pulled out a couple. I quickly dashed them into my pocket to purchase later. It didn't seem like he noticed so we carried on with the rest of our candy shopping. I pulled him along to the cakes section and pointed out all of the different types of cake there were.
"Look! There are so many different types of cakes here! There is the standard chocolate cake, the strawberry shortcake, the roll cakes, the bundt cakes, the matcha cake, the fruit tart, the assorted fruit cakes, the different sort of mousses, and so many more. There are even mini cupcakes!" I tell Kakyoin excitedly. My long-time favorite dessert was any cake that was made or store-bought. Cakes were the best desserts in my opinion and no one could change my mind on that, even Kakyoin.
Kakyoin nodded along with what I was saying and peered at the display of all of the cakes. "Do you know which one you want to get?" He asked.
"I'm... I'm not sure about that yet. I'm mainly stuck on the strawberry shortcake and the standard chocolate cake. They are both so mouth-wateringly good." I respond. My eyes hungrily eyed the two cakes as I tried to make a decision. Kakyoin looked at me with a kind look in his eye and gently responded.
"We could get both. We can share it if you want to." He calmly said. My eyes lit up with this and eagerly nodded. Kakyoing chuckled and quickly motioned over the cashier to tell them we were ready. He told the cashier how we wanted both of the cakes and they nodded, getting the cakes out and ready to take out. Kakyoin and I both took out our wallets but instead of sharing the price half and half, Kakyoin offered to pay for all of it. My heart slightly melted at his gentleness and a wide smile grew on my face.
As he finished up the payment, he took the boxes and directed us towards the door. I stop as I quickly remember the cherry-flavored candies in my pocket. "Hey, uh, Kakyoin, can I stay just for a little bit longer? You can go on ahead though." I say with an awkward smile. I can see the suspicious look he gave me and responds back.
"Ok, but I can stay with you until you finish whatever you want to look for."
"No! No, it's ok, uh, it'll only be a little bit, I swear!" I stutter out as I tried to convince him to let me stay at the store for a minute longer alone so that I could buy him the candies. His suspicion seemed to have grown but nodded back anyways.
"Alright then, I'll be right outside the door. Have fun with whatever you want to look for." He said as he lightly patted my head. Because of our height difference, Kakyoin picked up the habit of always patting my head. I loved it whenever he patted my head and I would always look forward to those little heart-warming moments that would be scattered throughout the day.
He soon left after and I walked back to the cashier. There seemed to be a longer line than last time so I ended up having to wait another 2 minutes. Once I was able to get to the front of the line, I placed down the few cherry-flavored candies I had and brought out my wallet. The cashier scanned them and told me the price. I took out the exact amount of money the candies were worth and handed it to them, relieving them of the trouble of giving back change. I took the candies once the transaction was done and headed back outside to meet Kakyoin who was leaning against the wall of the shop.
"I finished what I wanted to do. Shall we go now?" I questioned. He nodded and we once again linked hands as we walked to my apartment.
I guided Kakyoin to my apartment and I took out my keys, letting myself and him in. I moved to Japan early on last year by myself because of how my family had a dangerous job to do back in my home country. They thought it was the best decision for me to attend school in Japan and that led me to live by myself in an apartment near the school that I now go to. Once we both entered, we took off our shoes and I placed my bag and personal belongings on the little table next to the entryway. We walked to the living room and he placed down the box of cakes. We soon opened them and the glorious smell of the cakes wafted around the room. I hungrily looked at the cakes and took both of them out and set them on plates that I previously had out. I took those cakes and cut them both in half, setting each of the half slices of cake on the plates.
I handed one of the plates to Kakyoin and smiled. He smiled back and we both headed toward the couches that were in front of the TV. Kakyoin sat down first but I quickly made an effort to spread his legs so that I could sit in between them. Kakyoin seemed to blush at this and stuttered.
"Oh, come on Kakyoin. We've been dating for more than 4 months now. This shouldn't embarrass you anymore. Plus, even if you do want me to move, I'm not gonna." I stated. He looked down at me with a defeated yet still blushing face which made him look adorable. I set the plate on my lap momentarily so that I could grab his face and put a light peck on his lips. Satisfied, I once again took up my plate and took the first bite of my cake.
"Mm~ this is so good! Have you tried some yet?" I asked Kakyoin. He still seemed embarrassed by what happened and I chuckled at this. He was always someone who was courageous and loyal to his friends in other occasions. I never expected him to be so sensitive to relationships and be the cute, embarrassed type. He seemed to be fine with simple things like holding hands but these little intimate things always seemed to get to him. This made me fall even more for him and left me slightly giggling.
"What was that giggle just now for, (Y/N)?" Kakyoin asked, still trying to get over his embarrassment.
"Nothing~" I answered with another giggle. He seemed to just shrug it off as he also took a bite out of his cake.
"You're right, this does taste excellent." He said with wide eyes. I beamed up at him and took another bite of the cake.
"See? These cakes are always so amazing. Sometimes I just want to buy all of the cakes at once and eat them all in one go." I said as Kakyoin chuckles.
"Oh shoot! I forgot something!" I said as I quickly dug through my pockets. Kakyoin looked at me with a questioning look but that soon disappeared once I found the items I was searching for. "Aha! Found them! Here Kakyoin, this is for you." I said with a bright smile on my face. His face lit up as he saw the little balls of sweetness scattered in my hand.
"Aw, darling thanks so much!" He gleamed. "Is this what you wanted to do when you asked me to stand outside?"
"Yup yup. Didn't want to ruin the surprise!" I said with a playful wink. He playfully rolled his eyes but soon placed a loving kiss on the top of my head. I giggled and looked back at him, placing a kiss to his cheek. We both smiled at each other then went back to our cakes with him putting the cherry-flavored hard candies on the table.
After a slight pause, he spoke up with a playful attitude. "I don't think you'll even be able to eat all of those cakes at one time. I remember you always wanting a lot of sweets at one time and then when actually eating them, only eating the first few. It would be a waste of cake." I pouted, thinking back to our previous conversation and knowing he was right, but still argued back anyway.
"So what? I can just keep them all in my fridge and eat them as time goes on so that I won't be sick of them." I answer.
"That is if you eat them all in the certain time of them going expired. I don't think you will be able to eat all of those cakes in less than a week."
"Try me! We can bet right now!"
"I bet 1,000 yen ($10) that you would not be able to do that."
"Ha! That 1,000 yen will be mine!" Kakyoin and I tease back and forth. I soon break the serious composure I have and burst out laughing, him doing the same.
"What are we even doing? This is so stupid." I say while still laughing. Kakyoin agrees while also still chuckling.
"Still, I don't think you will be able to do it." He mentions once again.
"Fight me!" I say, laughing even harder than before. We both laugh again, smiles on our faces with still an unfinished cake in our hands. As our laughter dies down. I look at Kakyoin with pure happiness, not wanting to be anywhere other than here. As I set my cake down beside me, I turn to look straight into Kakyoin's eyes and lean into a more gentle and passionate kiss with him. He melts into it, also putting his cake to the side, and after a few seconds, we pull away. I soon hug him and I could feel his arms wrap around me. I bask in the warmth his body provides and stay there for a while with the cake now forgotten by our sides.
Chapter 2: [Fluff] Just an act? [Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli]
Chapter Text
Y/N grunted as she received a harsh punch to the stomach and fell backward onto the hard cement floor. She immediately stood up again, ready to fight with the pain in her stomach completely forgotten. She put her arms out in front of her and used her Hamon as a way to attack the "enemy" that was in front of her. The "enemy" jumped back and nearly dodged the Hamon filled hand that was about to hit him with a sigh of relief. They both once again got into a fighting stance, waiting for the other person to make the next move.
"Bring it on, slip-n-slide."
"Come at me, bubble boy." They said with a smirk proudly showing on their faces.
Yes, the so-called "enemy" that she was fighting was indeed Caesar Anthonio Zeppelli who was training alongside her under Lisa Lisa.
When Y/N first joined, Caesar did not immediately trust her and kept his distance. He wasn't sure if she was a worthy or trustworthy opponent and only focused on his independent training. However, after a little while, Lisa Lisa put the two up against each other to have a sparring match. They complied and fought each other with full force, not holding back one bit. They made some progress by injuring each other a bit and decided to call the match off once Y/N was down on her knees, panting. Caesar looked at her with a new fond eye as he realized she had managed to injure him slightly. Even though Y/N was more hurt than he was, he was still impressed by how he was even injured in the first place. He walked up to Y/N and held out a hand to her so that she could get up easier and Y/N replied with a smile on her face and an outstretched hand.
Even since then, Caesar and Y/N had been getting along with each other quite well and sparred each other routinely. They made it a tradition to always treat themselves after a spar, whether it was a simple dessert or a full-course meal. During these times with each other, they grew quite close to each other and became good friends, not only in terms of training partners.
Focusing back onto the fight, they once again stood menacingly with sweat rolling down their faces. Y/N had enough of this and used her Hamon to try and get Caesar to his knees. In order to use her set technique, she grabbed onto one of the bottles that hung right at her hip and opened it, throwing the contents out and into the air. She stopped the water that had spilled with her Hamon and quickly focused to make it spiral directly at Caesar. Him, already knowing this technique, quickly stepped to the side to avoid her attack. However, because of this repeated pattern of attacking and dodging already engraved into her memory, she made the water suddenly change directions and hit him right in the face.
Caesar didn't expect this and got hit right on and fell to the floor. Y/N had a look of satisfaction and happiness as she threw her hands up in the air in glory.
"Yes! I finally got a hit on you!"
"Not for long hun." Caesar retorted. This made her instantly blush and with the distraction, he was quickly able to hit her with his Hamon filled bubbles. She fell to the ground to meet him there and looked at him shocked.
"That's not fair! You can't bring those pet names into a fight!" She yelled, flustered. After getting to know her better, Caesar developed a habit of calling her sweet pet names and referring to her as them whenever she was calmly talking or if she was off guard, causing her to get flustered and stumble on her words. Her heart always skipped a beat and her heart always seemed to have the desire to want more when she was around him but she ignored all of these feelings, deeming them as a distraction. Her reactions always seemed to delight Caesar and it in turn egged him on to keep calling her these names. However, one thing he never did was call her these names during a fight. Because of this, she never expected him to do it and made her surprised and even more flustered than usual.
After seeing her reaction, he burst into uncontrollable laughter and held his stomach while in this fit. She saw this and couldn't help but laugh along too. They sat there in a fit of giggles, no hope in finishing the fight that had begun minutes prior.

It was a bright and new day when Y/N was suddenly called to meet Lisa Lisa in her room. Not wanting to upset her trainer, she quickly put on her combat-ready clothes and made sure to put on the belt that went around her arms, hip, and legs that held the containers of water, just in case she met an enemy.
As she ran down the stairs, she met Caesar also running towards the same direction and they both smiled at each other, assuming they were running for the same reason. As they arrived, Lisa Lisa took her sunglasses off and looked toward the two of them.
"I have a mission for the two of you." She said. This caused both Y/N and Caesar to perk up.
Lisa Lisa explained to them how there was a powerful Hamon user and how she wanted them both to get him and to get him to train under her. She explained to them that his name was Joseph Joestar and gave them a picture of him so it would be easier to track him down. After she finished, they both replied with a firm yes and were dismissed, expected to head out immediately after. They turned around and walked out the door together, excited to meet this new powerful person and hopefully befriend them.

"My, what a splendid city Rome is, don't you think, cara?"
"Caesar, stop with those pet names! You know they make me flustered!" Y/N responded back with a smile. After getting the mission from Lisa Lisa, they decided to go to the city of Rome and try to find the Hamon user Joseph Joestar there. They walked around trying to find him but lost track of time until the clock struck twelve.
"Caesar, I'm getting a little hungry. Would you like to stop by a restaurant and have a little meal before we resume our search?"
"It would be my pleasure, darling" Caesar replied with a smirk, putting more emphasis on the word darling. Y/N looked at him with a playful glare but decided to ignore the comment, also ignoring the erratic thumping in her chest. She took it upon herself and grabbed his hand, gently leading him to a restaurant that she knew was good, also missing the slight blush that came to Caesar's face. "Where are you taking us this time Y/N?"
"Someplace good. When I still used to live around here, I went to this restaurant we're going to now all the time. They have the best pasta." She said with a child-like glint in her eyes. Caesar's eyes softened at seeing this but it went unnoticed by the women in question.
They walked for about 5 minutes until they reached the said restaurant. She finally let go of Caesar's hand with a little dismay, a feeling that she was used to and also ignored, and entered into the store with Caesar following behind.
"My! What a pleasant surprise! If it isn't little Y/N!" A sweet feminine voice called from the back of the store. A grin plastered itself onto Y/N's face and she replied with a cheerful hello to the lady that was walking out to greet them.
"It has been forever since I've last seen you. How have you been?" The owner of the store questioned.
"I've been great, Signorina Adimari. How have you been?"
"I've been doing great as well, sweetie. Still running this same old shop as always. Nothing new, nothing exciting." She answered. For a brief second, her eyes flickered over to Caesar and then flicked back to Y/N.
"So, Y/N, I see you have a boyfriend." She said with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Y/N's face burned a bright red and quickly shook her head while Caesar, who was standing off to the side the whole time, seemed to blink and also shook his head with a pink tint on his cheeks. Signorina Adimari laughed out loud at this and enjoyed the two's reaction.
"Young love, am I right? Well, I can't have you standing here the whole time now, can I? Here, I'll escort you guys to a seat with a great view of the outside." She said with a gentle smile. Y/N smiled back, still trying to calm down, and let her escort the two of them to the table. As they settled down and grabbed the menus, Caesar looked over at Y/N.
"What? So this nice lady can call you pet names while I can't?" Caesar said with a smirk while Y/N's cheeks seemed to flush a bit.
"Oh shut up Caesar. This is totally different! She's more of an aunt-like figure to me." She said as she playfully nudged Caesar. They both chuckled but they quickly settled down.
"So, you never told me you were close to the restaurant's... owner?" He said.
"Hahahaha, yeah, she's the owner here. Since I've been here so many times, I was able to slowly get to know her and become friends with her. It's great being friends with the owner, you can get a discount sometimes." She replied with a wink. Caesar's cheeks lit up in the slightest bit of pink from that action but quickly hid it with his menu. He couldn't let her mess up his flirtatious and strong demeanor and make him into a blushing mess with just one wink. He had an image to uphold.
They soon picked what they wanted and ordered, also ordering a few afternoon drinks to relax a little bit. Their order soon arrived and they began to eat, also engaging in small talk. However, they soon perked up when they heard a loud commotion next to them. They looked at each other and smiled a small smile, realizing they tracked down the Hamon user that Lisa Lisa wanted to get.
"So, how are we gonna get his attention, if we even want to get his attention." Y/N whispered to Caesar in the most inconspicuous way possible. Caesar pretended to think a little until he suddenly grabbed her waist with a smirk. Y/N's face once again exploded with the color red and frantically asked Caesar what he was doing. He simply winked and began to talk in his smooth voice he used to charm women.
"Signorina, this is a gift for you." He suddenly said while grabbing an object that was in his pocket seconds prior. As he let go of the object, a beautiful red necklace dangled from his hands. A flustered smile graced Y/N's lips as she was suddenly the being who received all of Caesar's love. Her eyes widened slightly as she suddenly understood what Caesar was trying to do. Finally catching the drift, she decided to play along with this little lovey act. Caesar was smart, figuring out how Joseph would probably be able to see the two of them openly flirting and take notice of it. And as planned, they could hear Joseph making another commotion about the two of them flirting.
"My beautiful love, when you take this off before you sleep at night, I want you to think of me when you do. I'll even put a little spell on it, a spell that would make you fall in love with me." As he said this, he kissed the necklace tenderly with his eyes closed. Her heart, already racing, started to pound within her chest and she couldn't help the weak feeling that was slowly engulfing her. She stared at Caesar in awe, completely forgetting about how this was all an "act" and Joseph's loud commentary. Suddenly, Caesar pulled on her face and brought her close to his, also in the moment and looking into her eyes.
"And I'll spread this magic onto your lips too." As he said this, he sealed a kiss onto Y/N's lips. She widened her eyes and sat there in shock, not believing what was happening. Her heart jumped with glee and joy as a feeling of love exploded within her. It then made her finally realize, she fell for this wonderful man, Caesar Zeppeli. Her smile leaked onto her mouth as she slowly closed her eyes and decided to enjoy the moment with the man right in front of her, not noticing Joseph and Caesar's little "interaction". However, they were interrupted when the butler from the restaurant, who she was also acquainted with, came and bowed down to the both of them slowly while speaking.
"Signore Zeppeli, Signorina L/N, you both have a call from a man named Signore Speedwagon." He said with politeness. Still dazed with the kiss, Y/N completely missed the whole interaction afterward and was only brought to her senses once Caesar slowly nudged her. She looked at him with the most love-struck eyes he ever saw and he couldn't help but look away with a reddened face. He helped her out of her seat and linked arms with her, leading her to where they were supposed to go.
As they reached the phone, Caesar took it upon himself to answer the phone call while Y/N stood off to the side with a still flustered expression. She waited there until he was done and once he hung up, he once again linked arms with her. Y/N smiled and was lead out the door by him. Joseph was walking by them but Caesar and Y/N paid no mind to him. As they were walking, Y/N had to ask Caesar the question she was dying to ask.
"Caesar, was that whole... interaction back at the restaurant... real? Or was it just an act." She asked with a sincere look in her eyes. Caesar quickly stopped and looked at her with a distressed look on his face.
"Amore, that was all real. I... I've had these... feelings for you for a while now and I figured this was the perfect time to finally show you them. I had that necklace for a long time now, waiting for the perfect chance to give it to you. Finally, I was able to find that chance." He replied, a little flustered as well. Her face lit up like a Christmas tree and she couldn't help but feel giddy. Seeing this expression on the lady he loved made Caesar lean down and place a soft kiss on Y/N's cheek. However, noticing a simple little detail, a mischievous smile graced her lips.
"So, all of those pet names you called me were for real?" She questioned with a playful tone. He blushed and slightly nodded.
"Of course they were, tesoro. Ti amo." He said, returning the look she gave him.
"I love you too, Caesar." Y/N replied as she quickly stole a quick kiss that eventually made Y/N more flustered than him. He lovingly laughed at this, making Y/N laugh along with him.
For the rest of the walk, Caesar and Y/N stayed together with their arms linked, their eyes set on each other, and with warm smiles on their faces. Joseph, however, looked at them with a sour expression, not liking all the flirting that was happening in front of him.

Chapter Text
The faint sounds of shoes clicking could be heard as Bruno Buccellati and a new accomplice walked down the halls of a restaurant the former visited often. The confident male walked with a graceful air as the latter walked with a slightly less confident stride, obvious that she was nervous about what was going to transpire in a matter of moments. She walked a few paces behind the male until they arrived at their destination, a table in the far back that was specifically reserved for his friends and himself.
As they arrived, she came to witness 5 men sitting around the table, one with weird-looking donuts for hair, a brooding long-haired male with purple lipstick, a man wearing a weird red and blue hat with a matching outfit, a younger-looking boy with an orange headband, and a man with a suit that seemingly had holes all over it. She looked at all of them with slight nervousness as she let her new companion do all the talking for her, knowing that she struggled with anxiety.
The group looked up at the male but soon directed their attention towards her, some curious yet some wary about the new member that was going to join them. With the new attention directed towards her, she slowly shrank in on herself and found herself cowering behind Bruno's strong back. With this new development, the group members grew shocked and looked back towards him.
"Are you sure this girl can handle being with us?" The boy with the orange bandana tactlessly asked as he pointed towards the said girl.
"Yes, I am sure she will be able to fulfill her role in our group. I've seen her potential with my very own eyes and she did confirm that she wanted to indeed join." Bruno responded as he crossed his arms. The boy, listening to the man he looked up to, trusted his word and backed off, going back to his notebook that had a few math equations and an abundance of doodles on it.
"Are you sure about that Buccellati? She doesn't look like much of a fighter at all. Nor does she look like she can handle a little scratch to the cheek without whining." The brooding male spoke up, directing his harsh glare towards her. Bruno stepped in front of her and retaliated back with a confident tone.
"She can handle her own Abbacchio. Like I've said, I saw her potential and I've seen her in a fight. She can definitely fit in with our little group." Bruno said as he directed his attention to the now-known Abbacchio. The said man huffed and rolled his eyes as he returned to listening to his music from his headphones as he picked up his cake and resumed eating it.
After having her credibility questioned multiple times, she was formally introduced to the group as (Y/N) (L/N), a 17-year-old girl, and Bruno introduced the group to her. Despite her cute frame, she wore clothes that seemed to cover up most of her body, albeit stylishly. With the members of the gang all exposing at least a little bit of skin, it felt weird to have her so covered but they just brushed it off, not in a place where they could question her outfit choices. She politely bowed to them as they returned the greeting but more casually. They all just stated a quick hello before they grew silent once again.
The other members seemed relatively at peace with it but looked like they were eager to talk to the new member that was going to join them in their shenanigans from now on. But with the way (Y/N) acted, they believed they would just scare her off and would cause her even more distress so they decided against it. One member, in particular, didn't pay mind to it and went back to tutoring his idiot of a friend. He seemed to not care unless it directly affected him, which in this case, did not seeing how he couldn't do or say anything with her being so timid and shy. He simply ignored the situation at hand and proceeded to stab his poor, poor, stupid friend with a fork for getting a basic math equation wrong.
* * *
2 weeks passed before a certain situation came up that concerned both the timid, shy girl and the easily frustrated young man. (Y/N), this past couple of weeks, had only conversed or interacted with Bruno and only seemed to concern herself with him. Being the anxious young lady she was, she couldn't get herself to truly talk to the other members or the male that she was currently partnered up with for the upcoming mission at hand.
"Hello you two, I called you both over to give you a mission I'm trusting you guys with." Bruno first started off, "There's a drug dealer that was previously a part of the familia on the loose right now. We need to capture him dead or alive and make sure he never uses the mafioso's money or supplies ever again. You got that?" He finished with a slight question at the end. Fugo and (Y/N) both nodded in confirmation with a determined look on their faces.
Even though Bruno was against the supply of drugs and the dealing of them, he needed to uphold his position and follow the missions his higher-ups gave him. He figured it was a good idea to give this mission to (Y/N) and another member to kindle a new friendship and to make (Y/N) less rigid within the group. Fugo seemed like the best option because of his excellent stand and set the two up for their new mission.
Bruno grinned in satisfaction and sent them on their way, "Good luck you two. Stay safe and make sure not to go overboard".
* * *
Quiet breaths were heard as two figures submerged in darkness waited in the nearby alleyway. They had a job to do, a job personally given to them by their trusted leader who acted as their tough but caring mother. They were not going to simply disregard it, no, they were going to complete this mission with flying colors if it was the last thing they did.
So, they waited, and waited, and waited. They waited for their victim to show up to complete the shady drug deal. However, it seemed like he was running late and he hadn't shown up for over an hour now. Both Fugo and (Y/N) were starting to get antsy and hyper-aware of their surroundings, not sure if the suspect was late because he was genuinely late or because he knew what the two were up to and was planning to attack them. This made them look at every single person seemingly innocently walking down the street with extra care and precision.
One thing that was not part of the plan, however, was (Y/N) seeing a familiar face walking down that very same street she was so closely inspecting. Once she saw their face, she immediately started backing up, her flight-or-fight instincts kicking in.
"Hey hey, (Y/N), what's wrong? Did you see the guy or something?" Fugo asked as he saw (Y/N) going further into the alleyway. She just stayed silent as her breathing picked up, slowly hyperventilating. She backed even further into the alleyway and found herself hitting the wall a few feet away from Fugo.
As Fugo saw this, his own panic started to pick up. The mission was at stake now with an unresponsive and frozen partner on his hands. "(Y/N), seriously, what's wrong? Is it the enemy or not?" He asked with slight agitation leaking into his words. He tried to close the distance but she only backed away further, terror seeping into her eyes.
Fugo took a deep breath and thought through this as calmly as he possibly could. Making (Y/N) feel even more stressed was out of the question. The only way it seemed like she would at least be a little responsive was either giving her space to fully process things or as calmly and caringly as possible ask if she was ok or not. The first option was definitely something they could not do in this situation so Fugo, albeit a little annoyed, chose the second option. He took a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
"Hey, (Y/N), are you alright?" Fugo asked with as much care as he could muster in this situation, which was sadly only a little bit. (Y/N) heard the care in his voice and tentatively looked at him. Taking this as a queue, Fugo slowly and carefully approached (Y/N)'s hunched-over form. She flinched a little bit but when he was close enough to touch, something seemed to click within her.
She found herself clinging aggressively to Fugo and burying her face in his chest. She threaded her arms through his and grasped the back of his suit with all the might she had. She also subconsciously summoned her stand, Start Me Up, who draped over (Y/N)'s body protectively as a sign of comfort.
Fugo jumped at the appearance of her stand but he couldn't deal with being angry in this situation right then and there. He instead awkwardly tried to comfort (Y/N) and patted the area of her back that wasn't covered by the stand. He looked away from her and continued rubbing her back, telling her everything was going to be alright. Even though he didn't know what the issue was or if everything really was going to be alright or not, he figured this was the only way she could calm down as quickly as possible.
(Y/N) slowly but surely started calming down and her grip on him loosened little by little. When she was calm enough to fully let go of him, she pulled back with a heavy blush on her face.
"Sorry about that." (Y/N) quietly whispered to the blond teenager. "I'm ready to continue the mission." She spoke up again but with a bit more confidence in her words. Fugo looked at her to see the stand still draped over her but he decided to not mention it. The curiosity within him was killing him but he ignored it in favor of continuing the crucial mission at hand.
Fugo slowly nodded and they both got back in the position they originally were in, ready to finally be able to complete the task.
* * *
"Good job you two. I'm glad the job was finished with as little hardship as possible considering how both of you have very little injuries." Bruno said as he congratulated both Fugo and (Y/N). (Y/N) looked away from Bruno as he said there was very little hardship but recomposed herself soon afterward. "You both deserve a well-rested good night's sleep. Go ahead and go to your rooms, I'll make sure none of our friends bother you both tonight".
They both thanked Bruno and dismissed themselves, soon heading to their own individual rooms. As they climbed up the stairs in their collective household, Fugo looked over at (Y/N) in slight concern and worry, a frown morphing onto his face.
He had been through those episodes (Y/N) went through during the mission except lashing out his anger instead of bottling it up inside. He understood how painful it was to see something or even hear something that would automatically trigger those harsh memories, so much that it affected someone seriously both mentally, emotionally, and physically.
As they got to the top of the staircase, he completely stopped and turned toward (Y/N), (Y/N) soon following but with slight confusion. "About what happened during the mission..." Fugo started off. Immediately, (Y/N) looked to the side seemingly embarrassed and uncomfortable. "What exactly happened there? What made you so scared." He continued, talking as calmly and caringly as possible.
She hesitated for a second but kept her gaze to the wall next to her. "It was nothing, really." She responded in a barely audible whisper. He looked at her with desperation in his eyes despite the fact that (Y/N) couldn't see. "I'm sorry about today, I swear it won't happen again... Hopefully..." The last sentence barely audible.
"A... Alright then. If you say so." Fugo said with disappointment seeping into his tone. (Y/N) quietly nodded and walked to her room slowly, leaving a gloomy Fugo in her wake.
She had heard Fugo's genuine concern. She knew he was only trying to help. But she couldn't bring herself to say what truly happened right then and there. She didn't know him well enough, she couldn't trust him enough to say what raced in her head a mere few hours ago. She needed more time, she needed more trust.
* * *
About 3 weeks passed since that mission was cleared. Unexpectedly, (Y/N) became closer to Fugo, adding him onto the small list of people she talked to. No one really knew what spurred her to suddenly start talking to him but he was glad she even talked to him in the first place. Fugo secretly hoped he would have the opportunity to get closer to (Y/N) because he was so curious about what happened then but with this new development, he found himself secretly enjoying (Y/N)'s attention on him more than most of the others. However, he never openly showed his happiness about this case.
(Y/N) herself only wanted to get closer to Fugo so that he wouldn't share what happened during the mission. She didn't want others to know her weakness of getting a panic attack for "no real reason". She didn't want to be a burden to the rest of the group and possibly get kicked out. However, as time passed on, she grew to like having Fugo's company, genuinely liking the conversations Fugo and her would engage in. She stopped hanging around him to monitor what he said to the others, only staying so that she would have a fun time with him.
They made an odd pair in the perspective of the gang. They didn't expect the easily triggered Fugo to become so close to the never-talking shy (Y/N). They admittedly expected Giorno or maybe even Narancia getting close to her first but that wasn't what fate had planned they guessed. It was odd yet lovable to them to see (Y/N) having a sweet smile planted on her face and an unexpectedly charming smile planted on Fugo's whenever they talked.
At this point in time, Fugo and (Y/N) were sitting on the couch in the living room of their shared house with the rest of the gang. The others were on a mission that didn't require either Fugo or (Y/N) so the two of them hung back and took the moment to relax and rewind. They were both talking about how their day was going and other small talks until a silent pause hung in the air. Fugo, albeit a little hesitantly, took this moment to finally ask about what happened 3 weeks ago again to her.
"Hey, (Y/N), I have a question to ask that you might not want to answer." He started off. Sensing the stiffness in him, she straightened her back and directly looked at him.
"T- That's fine. I'll try and answer it as best as I can." She replied. He nodded and took a deep breath.
"What happened on the first mission we took together?"
Silence.
He slowly looked at (Y/N) to see her reaction and saw her looking down at her lap. His breath stuck in his throat as he patiently waited for (Y/N)'s answer, whether it came or not.
A minute passed, then another.
As the third minute passed, Fugo looked away and started losing hope but (Y/N)'s quiet voice spoke into the air.
"A classmate."
Fugo shot up and looked at her, surprised she answered his question. "What...?"
"It was a classmate I saw. Someone who I didn't really want to see again." She said again, even quieter this time. His eyes grew wider and slowly reached to her but before he could touch her he caught himself and retreated, not sure if she wanted to be touched or if she was even comfortable with it.
As another pause grew prominent, (Y/N) spoke up again, voicing out her thoughts. "He was someone that made sure I hated myself every second of the day."
Fugo was shocked at this, not knowing something so horrible happened to (Y/N). He gulped and asked another question timidly. "Why was that? Why would someone do that to you?"
Another silence.
"I was born into a poor family, a family that lived in the slums. They were all really nice and caring people, people who genuinely cared about one another's health and well-being, including me. I loved them all dearly and they loved me back; we honestly lived a peaceful life." Then she paused again.
"But when I was about 10, they decided to enroll me in a school. They wanted me to get a good education unlike the rest of them and wanted at least me to be happy in the future. I was extremely happy they gave me this chance to go to school. Why I was so excited was because I always wanted to go to school. So near the beginning of the school year, I got all of my materials set and kept getting more and more excited about the new life I was about to live. Sure, my materials were less expensive and more crappy looking than the other students' but I didn't really care.
"So, the school year started and I met all of my new classmates, people that I thought were going to become my friends. I soon learned that that was definitely not the case."
Fugo felt the atmosphere dramatically change and tensed up further, preparing himself to hear what would happen.
"As soon as I walked into my class, all of the students there immediately knew I was poor because of how I looked and what I had. They started saying hostile things to me like how I didn't belong there and how I should have just stayed with my "barely-able-to-survive family". This shocked me a lot and completely crushed my dreams of a happy school life. Thinking back to it now, I shouldn't have raised my hopes that much at all, I should have expected this kind of treatment." She slightly chuckled, a dark undertone seeping into her voice.
"As the school year went on, my classmates made it their personal goal to make me know what kind of trash I am. They kept on hurtling all of those cliche insults that you would hear in movies at me with 100% full ill-intent. There was never a day in my life where they would not make me feel sick to my core.
"...But there was one specific group of friends that were the worst."
Sensing the even darker tone, Fugo scooched in closer to her and held her in his strong arms. Personal space be damned, he needed to comfort her as much as he could.
"The man that I saw that day and his little group of friends made sure I knew my place... physically." Fugo felt like he couldn't breathe for a second. He knows about situations like this, it shouldn't be as much of a surprise considering how cruel of a world it is. But he couldn't help but grow deeply concerned and care. There must have been something wrong with him. But he was too busy right now to think or even care about that.
"Whenever they saw me they would punch me, push me over into a puddle of mud and kick me, make sure I trip and fall flat on my face, shove me into a wall and make it known to me how useless I was, and other things alike. I still have some scars from them on my body. It was a living hell." She trailed off. Fugo remained silent for a few moments but whispered to her with concern laced in his voice.
"Is that why you cover yourself up all the time?" She nodded in response, ashamed of her body. Fugo's grip tightened on her and he let her continue on. But, before she could, she turned her body to Fugo and nestled into his grasp, also wrapping her arms around him. He slightly smiled but it soon vanished once she started speaking again.
"My life was like a nightmare as they continued every day. I fell into a heavy depression and shut myself out from the only people that cared about me: my family. I was so ashamed of who I was and I even went as far as running away from them. I never returned to my family since then, too afraid to confront them or to see how they were doing. I really hope they're doing all right. I lived in an abandoned shed that was a decent ways off from the school and wallowed in self-hate there for the rest of my school life."
A pause.
"But my life only got worse one day. The group of friends wanted to take it up a notch and forcibly dragged me to an abandoned alleyway near the school. I was scared and confused about what would happen but what really terrified me was when I saw the glint of a knife in the main one's hand."
Fugo's grip tightened even further. Tears started invading her eyes.
"They started slicing and cutting me. I was terrified and I only held my hands above my head because I didn't know what to do. I honestly thought that... that was the day they were going to kill me."
A single tear falling. Then another, and another.
"But that was when something saved me. I unknowingly summoned my stand and I was able to manipulate the guy holding the knife. I made it so that he would slice his friends instead and at the time I had no idea what was happening. I was too scared to fully know that I was the one doing it. But I was relieved none the less. The friends were confused too but they quickly got scared and ran away, saying I was a witch. I forced the guy I manipulated into running away too and once they were out of the alleyway, I retracted my stand.
"From then on, they never approached me head-on and they partially left me alone. They spread rumors behind my back but I was glad they never talked to me directly again. My life was slightly better but it only truly got better when I left that god-awful school. I still suffer from memories from that time but I'm barely scraping by. I'm living, at least." She finished. At this point, tears were freely flowing from her eyes and she was buried within Fugo's comforting chest.
His anger had risen throughout the whole time and he only gripped (Y/N) tighter. He couldn't believe people would go that far and harm someone as innocent as her. He seethed and swore to make them pay back what they did to her ten folds. He could feel his stand wanting to be released but he kept it at bay as much as possible, not wanting to alarm or harm (Y/N).
With everything off of her chest, (Y/N) felt somewhat relieved, finally able to tell at least one person what she was bottling up for most of her life. She quietly sobbed and gripped onto him tighter, taking comfort cuddled up to him. She slightly smiled, happy to have someone like Fugo with her. A feeling of warmth spread through her chest, slowly calming the steady flow of tears.
As she stayed cuddled up to Fugo, a wave of exhaustion flooded her as she felt her eyes starting to droop. Not having the energy to stay awake anymore, she let herself drift off to sleep in Fugo's warm embrace.
Seeing (Y/N) asleep, Fugo's anger started to dissipate, leaving a warm feeling in its wake. Seeing her so calmly sleeping set a feeling of drowsiness in him too as he felt himself falling asleep.
With the warmth enveloping him and the warm feeling growing more and more in his chest, he let himself peacefully drift off to sleep.
Chapter Text
"The way you smile makes me smile." He said with a gleaming smile on his pure lips, spread wide with overflowing emotion for the girl that stood in front of him. She stood there with awe planted onto her face, never seeing him being this expressive or emotional before. He would always be so calm, so composed, never truly letting anyone know what he was feeling. This was a nice change, a pleasant change that would surely make her happy for the rest of her life.
So, she smiled. She smiled and smiled and smiled, happy to have such an amazing person sharing her life with her. A guardian angel that protected her and cared about her, tended to her every need. A man that treated her with such kindness that it could last an eternity, even though he was the Don of the mafia. Nothing could make her truly upset when he was with her, she was always lighting up like a Christmas tree whenever he was there.
He cherished her just as much, maybe even more than she did. Caring about her to such a degree that he was willing to sacrifice himself or pay for anything she could have ever asked for. And when he meant anything, he meant anything. A huge celebration or gathering, her favorite rocks in her collection that she so fondly gazed at all the time, flourishing flowers that would be enough to plant a whole garden, the most expensive of foods, as many clothes to suit a gathering of people the size of a field. Anything.
So, of course, he would do all these things. He gifted her celebrations and wide gatherings, inviting people she loved and those that loved her back, rocks, big and small, anything she would like or have wanted, numbers of flowers that 10 people carrying wouldn't even be enough to hold, a whole party's worth of luxurious food, and enough clothes to suit 50 or more. He loved her so very much, more than any person can imagine. She was his light, she was his whole world.
She would always be so happy and gleeful receiving so many gifts from her beloved, always thanking him with such passion that he was blown away every time. No matter how many times she would utter or even shout the words thank you, he could never accept it because her smile would be enough to make him happy ten folds. She would even insist for him to not keep purchasing such things just for her but he would always decline, saying she deserved this and even more. Those very words would always make her fall even more in love with him.
They were the very definition of a perfect couple. Two lovers always sticking with each other and not come over by petty feelings that could potentially halt their relationship. They were mature enough to not have jealousy overwhelm them, being mature enough to not become desperate to the point of constantly bothering the other if one was away, being mature enough to love each other completely for who they truly are. They never let the others' negative qualities change the way they viewed each other. They would embrace it and love them all the more.
Even while working, they were truly perfect. They were an unstoppable duo, not having anything halt them from the mission at hand. Having the strength and resolve to complete an important job no matter what the cost was. They worked so well with each other, people even said they were born solely to work alongside one another. No matter the situation, they would be so focused, so hardworking, so impeccably cunning.
When seeing them out on the battlefield, they would never leave one another, not risking any chance to screw up a job at hand. They would take the skills they have and amp it up even more, making them unbeatable. No one could even tell they were still only teenagers, still only growing up to become a full-fledged adult. So young yet so impressively incredible at what they do.
And when they would have time to rest, they would let their young selves be free again, falling in love again and again. They would show each other how much they mean to them, how they would not be able to survive without the other, how they wouldn't know what to do without the other. Just drowning in the love they provided for each other would make them happy for eternity. They could never be happier without the other close by, nothing could compare to when they were with each other.
Vacations would be filled with cuddling, kisses, romantic dates, and just time spent with each other. No matter what they did, even if it was just sitting on the couch together, it would fill them with such joy. They would dance to music they hear from a radio, prepare meals with each other, bid each other good night, and much much more. Nothing would halt them from their happiness.
Even when it would rain, they would simply run around sometimes, acting like how normal teenagers should act. The rain dripping down the side of her face, in his point of view, would be like watching a drop of water slide down a perfectly polished slab of granite. Such a simple thing but such a beautiful sight. He would catch himself staring at her with adoration and passion in his eyes when she frolics around in the water. And when she catches him, she would send the sweetest of smiles towards his direction, effectively making his heart melt. He would then join her, both having such happy expressions on their faces that no one could even try and ruin their delight.
And when the April showers bring May flowers, they would go on picnics and lay their beautiful plaid blanket onto the soft grass. Bringing food they both worked to make, they would enjoy the lovely tastes that would satisfy their pallet. They would sit and enjoy the flowers growing around them: the daffodils, the lilies of the valley, the hyacinths, and the crocuses. Even when he could make flowers appear on his own will, having flowers naturally growing around them was much more romantic in these occasions and filled both of them with adoration for the little plant lives growing.
The thing they loved doing the most was watching the sky, looking at the clouds passing by. They would stare and point out the clouds floating with one hand and have their other hand clasped together, or other times snuggling. It gave them the perfect opportunity to bask in each other's company while seemingly doing nothing. It was at these times which made them the happiest and most serene, just happy they had the other. He would glance over and see the most caring smile planted on her lips and even see tears in her eyes, simply because of how happy she was. He would sometimes just stare at her and admire her when she became like this, cherishing her as much as he possibly could. And he would be the happiest he would have ever been too.
So looking at the sky now, he cherished the clouds that floated by with those same flowers he loved giving her in his hands. Looking down, he would come to see the rocks she loved so very much placed on the ground alongside the granite that was so perfectly carved and crafted. The soft grass beneath his feet would sway side to side when the calming winds blow as he lowers himself to kneel in front of the stone she so desperately loved. He would slowly place those very flowers in front and to the side of it, arranging it in such a way that it could even be worthy of comparing it to her beauty. As he looks forward, he would see the very words that would be stuck like mud in his mind until the day he dies: "Here lies (Y/N) (L/N)". With the April showers just passing a mere few hours ago, the rocks and stone would still have raindrops that would roll down it, reminding him of the times he would play in the rain with her.
He seemed mystified, just gazing for moments with little movement, only the soft rise and fall of his chest prevalent. His eyes would be open but with little light shining in it even though the sun was out from the clouds. There would be no quirk of his lips, there would be no blush apparent on his face, there would be no gesture that expresses what he's feeling. There would simply be a man that once loved, a man that was once happy.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N). I love you so... so much...."
His shoulders would sink, his breath would become ragged, holding back the tears that were pooling in his eyes. With no one there to comfort him, he was scared that once he cried now, he would never stop. So he held it in with the last amount of strength he had left, not letting himself lose himself to the pain. But a soothing cool wind passed and with it, his hair swayed a bit. There was a whisper tickling his ear being heard.
"I love you too, my Giorno. I'll be here when you're ready."
And with that, the broken man let his tears fall, the pain and suffering he suffered for the past seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, finally set free. He sobbed and sobbed in front of his beloved's grave, not caring if anyone saw him. Not caring if he would never go back to living life like how it used to be. Not caring if everything was just black and white. Not caring if he would never be in love again. Not caring if he would be here for the next seconds, minutes, hours, days, months. He would stay with his beloved forever, and she would stay with her beloved forever within his heart until the day he joins her.
"I love you, my dear."
