Work Text:

Aizawa Shouta doesn’t know what kind of unforgivable sin he committed in his past life to warrant this kind of situation. Whatever it was, one would think that devoting his life to protect the innocent and hunt the wicked as a hero would warrant him some kind of pardon. And yet, he can’t seem to ever catch a break.

“THERE’S NO WAY SHITTY DEKU IS IN THE SAME SCHOOL AS ME!”

“Kacchan! That’s a no-no word!”

And people said there’s nothing more infuriating than high-school kids. Aizawa utterly disagrees. The pint-sized versions of his two most problematic students are even more headache-inducing than their teenage counterparts.

Even the way their hero uniforms cutely slip from their tiny frames isn’t enough to mask the fact that Bakugou Katsuki is an awful brat and Midoriya Izuku is a snotty crybaby. Bakugou has been threatening everyone around him with tiny sparkle-like explosions that wouldn’t even blister, but were enough for Aizawa to want to hide in his sleeping bag until the student grew up again. And Midoriya has snot up to his hair. But, five or sixteen years old, these students are his responsibility.

“How long are they going to stay this way?” he asks Recovery Girl.

“From the report Endeavor’s agency sent us about the villain, anything from 24 to 48 hours. It’s not long.”

Oh, but it sounds like an eternity.

“And then they’ll be back to normal?”

“Yes. And they will retain every memory they make during these days. Their own memories are still in their brains, but they’re locked away to protect their developing minds. It’s not a time-skip or anything of sort. They’re still themselves, just de-aged for a while,” Recovery Girl explains. “They’re completely healthy and may go back to the dorms.”

Aizawa presses his temple, holding back a migraine. “How will I leave two five-year-olds in the dorms with their high school peers?”

“Well, I do believe it’s a good learning opportunity,” the old woman says noncommittally. “Next year they’ll all graduate as heroes. They should know how to take care of their comrades in need and of any children they may encounter during work.”

Sparing a look to his students, Aizawa sees Bakugou trying to reach a medicine cabinet clearly labeled as ‘DANGEROUS - DO NOT OPEN’ and Midoriya munching on the hem of his sleeve, snot still dripping from his nose.

Shouta sighs in defeat. “Can we at least get some new clothes for them?”

“I’m sure we have some school uniforms for small students around here somewhere…” the old doctor says, already picking up the phone to inquire about the clothes.

***

“OH MY GOD, THEY’RE SO CUTE!” A pink girl screeches, looking at Izuku and Kacchan very excitedly.

Izuku is a little scared of her and of the several pairs of eyes that consider him so attentively. Aizawa-san said they are his classmates. When he grows up, these people are going to be the ones Izuku will study with to become a hero, so they can’t be so bad — no matter how scary they seem. With that thought in mind, Izuku gives a wobbly smile and shyly waves to the teenagers.

More coos and squeals are heard across the room.

“The hell are you losers looking at? Leave me alone!” Kacchan complains, trying to get rid of Aizawa’s scarf that has been holding him since they left the infirmary.

“I need volunteers that will take care of them until the quirk wears off,” Aizawa-san says seriously to the class.

Immediately several hands shoot up and people start yelling “Pick me, sensei!” while jumping around. Izuku can’t help flinching back and trying to hide behind Aizawa-san’s legs. They all seem nice, but they’re very noisy and a little bit scary.

Actually, everything has been scary ever since he woke up in the school’s infirmary being probed by Recovery Girl. Izuku doesn’t really understand what happened, one moment he was home with his mom and the next he’s alone in this hero school. People told him it’s a quirk and that he’ll be back to normal in a couple of days, but it’s too much to think this is all normal to him. Or it’ll be in ten years.

“I DON’T NEED ANY ONE OF THESE EXTRAS! I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!” Kacchan’s complaints grab Izuku’s attention. The other boy is still fighting against Aizawa-san’s scarf, kicking around wildly. “I’M A HERO!”

Izuku is amazed by how brave Kacchan is. He hasn’t shown fear at all, even when Aizawa-san yelled at him. Izuku wishes he could be more like Kacchan, or maybe ask him for help, but Kacchan has been very clear that he doesn’t want Izuku around since Izuku doesn’t have a quirk.

But in the future, Izuku will study in UA, so this must mean he’ll get his quirk soon enough. He’s just a late bloomer, like his mother said. Izuku hopes he and Kacchan can go back to being friends when he gets his quirk. He’s sure they will be the best of heroes together, just like they talked about before!

“I need at least three for this one,” Aizawa says, indicating Kacchan. “Alright. Kirishima, Ashido and… Sero. You three can control Bakugou. Don’t be shy in using your tape on him, Sero.”

“I’M GOING TO KILL-” Aizawa’s scarf closes Kacchan’s mouth and Izuku watches with startled eyes when two boys and a girl approach to take his friend.

“It’s alright, bro!” The redhead boy exclaims happily. “I’m Kirishima and I’m your friend!”

Kirishima kneels down to Kacchan’s height and Aizawa releases the boy so he can be taken by the teenagers. But Kacchan doesn’t seem very keen on accepting that. He yells “DIE!” and aims explosions at Kirishima’s face. But Kirishima's quirk comes forward, making his face hard as a rock, completely immune to Kacchan’s power. Izuku watches dumbfounded as Kirishima just laughs it off and grabs Kacchan's hand to drag him away.

“Let’s go, it’s dinner time. That’s why you’re so grumpy,” Kirishima states calmly.

With all the commotion, Izuku misses Aizawa-san picking who will be responsible for him. So when a soft voice calls to him, he jumps scared.

“Deku-kun?” A pretty girl with pink cheeks and a sweet smile is talking to him. “I’m Uraraka Ochako and I’ll be taking care of you.”

“H-hi, U-Uraraka-san,” he answers unsurely. She seems nice, but ‘Deku’ is the bad nickname Kacchan gave him when he got his quirk. Izuku doesn’t know how she could know that.

But the girl just giggles, completely unbothered. “Call me Ochako. Oh, better yet! Call me Ocha-nee!”

“I- Hm… Ocha-nee?” Izuku asks confused.

“Yes! We’re best friends, there’s no need to be so formal with me.” Wow. Izuku has a friend, a best friend. And she’s a girl. That never happened to him before. His future will be crazy. “Are you hungry?”

“No, they gave us dinner before we left the infirmary.”

“So do you want us to go to your room? I know all of them together can be pretty overwhelming sometimes,” she says, indicating the rowdy group of teens still talking loudly and looking his way. Izuku doesn’t have to think twice before nodding.

Ochako takes him by the hand and leads him to the elevator. Izuku can’t help but look around amazed at the place. So this is where he’ll live while he’s studying to be a hero! It’s so big and nice! It’s so cool! Ochako giggles by his side.

“I guess it’s pretty cool. But we’ve been living here for a while now, so a little bit of the wonder has worn off.”

Izuku looks at her startled, “H-how?”

“You mumble, Deku,” she says smiling at him. “You always do when you’re excited. It’s cute!”

Flustered, Izuku looks away and Ochako giggles some more. They soon arrive to his room — and it blows Izuku’s mind away.

“WOW!” He exclaims, looking around amazed. “Is this all mine?”

“Yes, yes it is. You do have an impressive collection.” Ochako is still giggling,  but Izuku is too enthralled by the All Might merch that fills every corner of the room to care.

Sure, his own bedroom has a good amount of All Might in it, but this one is absolutely packed! And it has so many figurines still in the boxes! And so many posters! It’s the coolest thing he’s ever seen! Completely forgetting the anxiety and fear he was feeling until now, Izuku gets lost inspecting his own collection of All Might stuff, exclaiming “Uuh!”s and “Ahh!”s at the most impressive items.

Ochako sat down by the bed and let the boy play around for as long as he wanted — though she keeps him away from the boxed items, saying his bigger self wouldn’t want those being touched. When Izuku finishes looking through everything twice, he sits down on the bed with her.

“I have really cool stuff!”

“Well, you worked very hard for it,” she answers smiling. “I think all the money you got on internships went to buying more merch.”

“Good,” he says nodding and Ochako giggles some more. She does that an awful lot — giggle and smile. It makes Izuku a little flustered.

“Oh, that’s because you’re so cute all tiny!” she says, poking his belly. “I’m not used to seeing you like that since we met when we were fourteen already.”

“Hm… Ocha-nee… How am I? You know, when I’m big…”

“I told you, you’re my best friend, Deku! You’re nice, and kind, and hardworking! And you always help everyone around you!”

“A-and why do you c-call me Deku?” he asks with a little pout.

“Oh well, because that’s your nickname and your hero name. Lots of people call you that.”

“But Deku is a bad word… Kacchan made it up to make fun of me…” he mumbles, looking at his feet.

“Bakugou can be a pain in the butt-” Ochako starts, scandalizing Izuku.

“Ocha-nee! No-no word!”

“Ops! Sorry! Well, Bakugou can be- hm... difficult, even when he’s big. But you guys are friends and Deku took a new meaning. Now, it stands for Dekiru since you’re the hero who can do anything!”

Izuku smiles at her brightly. That sounds nice. Way nicer than to be called ‘useless’. Ochako is really nice, she doesn’t seem like she would be making fun of him. And it’s good to know he and Kacchan are still friends.

“Now, let’s get ready for bed! Shall we?”

Ochako helps him pick an All Might sleeping pajama to use, even if the pants won’t fit him at all. Then, he brushes his teeth and she puts him in his All Might bed with an All Might plushie, and turns on the All Might night light. Izuku falls in an easy sleep soon enough and he can’t help but think that his future is pretty amazing.

***

Katsuki is pissed off. First he woke up somewhere he doesn’t know with people who don’t seem to care about what he has to say. Then, he’s dumped with three complete idiots that managed to burn porridge and dared to give him instant ramen for dinner, completely ignoring the fact he had already eaten dinner! And now, to add insult to injury, he has to put up with Deku being all chumy with that round cheeked girl during breakfast.

“Open wide!” the chick says to Deku, giggling.

“Ocha-nee! I’m big! I can eat on my own!” Deku protests, but it’s just for show. Katsuki can tell because it doesn’t take long until Deku allows the girl to feed him.

He stabs his breakfast with his chopsticks in anger, making rice fly around them.

“Baku-bro! Chill with the food! It’s already dead, there’s no need to murder it!” Sero says.

“SHUT UP! I didn’t ask you shit!” he barks and quickly looks at Deku, expecting to be told off for using a ‘no-no word’. But Deku is too busy giggling with Round Cheeks to pay attention to him, making Bakugou fume in anger even more.

“You can play with Midoriya later,” Kirishima says softly and Katsuki turns to him with a death stare. “I can talk to Uraraka to arrange something for after class.”

“What?! Who says I want to play with Useless Deku?” he protests. “I don’t even play! I’m training to be a hero!”

“Well, you two can play together since Midoriya will also be a hero,” Kirishima argues.

“That’s not the point!” Katsuki yells frustrated, then completes in a grumble. “Why the hell are they so… disgusting anyway?”

“Oh, I can answer that,” Kaminari butts in, wiggling his eyebrows. “Uraraka must be taking the chance to make Midoriya remember her in a special light, to help with flirting when he goes back to normal.”

“What?!” Katsuki whips his head to look at Deku and the girl again. “Flirting?”

“Yeah, I mean, you guys will keep all your memories from these days when you go back to normal. I think Uraraka is being extra nice to Midoriya so when he grows up, they’ll start dating.”

“Deku will marry that… girl ?” Katsuki asks in utter disgust.

“Well-” Kaminari starts talking, but Kirishima interrupts him.

“Don’t put things in his head,” he tells Kaminari and then turns to Bakugou. “Uraraka and Midoriya are best friends. They’re always together, you just don’t remember it right now.”

Best friends? Deku and the girl? But that makes even less sense! Katsuki is Izuku’s best friend.

Or isn't he?

Sure, he and Deku haven’t played, he means, trained much since Katsuki’s quirk manifested. But that’s just because Deku’s quirk is late. When he gets his quirk, they’ll go back to training together and being friends. Bakugou is sure of it.

“And since when best friends can’t start dating?” Ashido, who had been quiet since she was too sleepy to function, enters the conversation. “I think this may be good for them. Maybe it’ll be the last push they needed.”

“Can you all stop it? We don’t know anything about Midoriya’s or Uraraka’s feelings. All we know is that they’re friends and there’s nothing weird about that or how they’re acting right now.” Kirishima states. “Let’s just go to class.”

Katsuki followed them to class, but he was too caught up in his own head to pay attention to anything going on. So, that girl may like Deku. But that doesn’t mean Deku likes her back. But he’s her best friend, not Katsuki. This all doesn’t make any sense, Katsuki needs more information to decide what he’ll do about it.

Izuku and Katsuki are told to sit quietly in class and try to pay attention, since their brains will retain the information and they will understand what they’ve been taught when they go back to normal. And Katsuki really tried his best to pay attention, but it’s hard when he can hear Deku scribbling away just behind him.

Deku has always been into drawing, and he’s not half bad — not that Katsuki would ever admit that. He wonders what Deku is drawing. He can’t be copying whatever Aizawa is teaching since they can’t write so Deku must be drawing something. Maybe he managed to find a way to draw Aizawa’s lecture? Would Deku let Katsuki borrow his notes when he finished?

The hours dragged on until their lunch break. Bakugou has never felt as bored in his whole life and Deku hasn’t stopped drawing the whole time. The moment the bell signaled their class was over, Katsuki jumped from his chair to try and see what Deku had made.

However, Deku was faster and is already running towards the Round Face girl.

“Ocha-nee! Look what I made!” Deku proclaims proudly.

“Oh my, Deku-kun! Is this me and you?” the girl asks, taking the drawing. “It looks incredible! You’re such a great artist!”

“Yes! It’s you and me when I’m big and we’re being heroes together!”

Katsuki doesn’t even see Deku’s smile turning into a scared expression — all he sees is red and orange as his temper flares up, making his quirk explode. The explosions are the biggest the five-year-old Katsuki has ever made and, even if they aren’t really comparable to the damage he can make at sixteen, they’re more than enough to make desks and chairs fly around and big black marks show up on the floor.

He’s so furious. Katsuki doesn’t really understand why, but he knows he never felt angrier in his whole life. Bakugou hates that Deku said Round Face is his best friend and that they’ll be heroes together, so he redirects his anger towards the drawing that represents all that Katsuki lost. Because that’s supposed to be his — he was supposed to be Deku’s best friend and hero partner.

“DIE!” Katsuki yells, aiming his explosions at Deku’s drawing.

In seconds, Kirishima puts his hardened form between Katsuki and Izuku, Uraraka hugs Izuku against her chest to protect him and Aizawa wraps Katsuki in his scarf.

“BAKUGOU!”

“Kacchan?”

“That’s enough!” Aizawa screams, using his quirk to stop Katsuki’s explosions. “You’re on detention. Back to the infirmary.” And then Katsuki is dragged through the hallways by Aizawa’s scarf to the old doctor’s office.

“LET ME GO! NOW! I’LL KILL YOU, OLD MAN!”

***

Turns out that Katsuki’s ‘detention’ was to spend the whole lunch break and afternoon classes in the infirmary, bored out of his mind. Which was stupid, because the only thing it taught Katsuki is that his future sucks. UA ia boring and full of useless extras, Deku has a new best friend and no one takes him seriously.

As the sun begins to set, Aizawa returns to check on him and finds a very sullen Katsuki.

“Are you ready to talk properly?” the teacher asks and Katsuki just turns his face away. Aizawa takes a deep breath before trying again. “If you don’t talk to me, I’ll decide you’re not fit to go back to the dorms and you’ll have to spend the night here alone.”

That makes Katsuki whip his head back to him so fast he almost got whiplash. “It’s not my fault! I haven’t done anything!”

“Really? Because I remember you exploding half of my classroom,” Aizawa states with a bored expression.

“It was not my fault,” he hisses.

“So whose was it?”

“Deku,” he says with certainty.

Aizawa raises an eyebrow at him, completely unimpressed. “Midoriya? Weird, because as far as I know he doesn’t have an explosion quirk.”

“He broke our promise!” Katsuki screeches. “He picked another best friend and he won’t be a hero with me anymore!”

The professor rubs his temple tiredly and grumbles under his breath “I’m not paid enough for this” before looking up at Katsuki again. “Listen, Bakugou. I know this all may seem very important to you right now, but things change and when you go back to normal you’ll be embarrassed for even thinking this was worth getting riled up for. Now, will you behave if I take you back to the dorm?”

Katsuki nods and follows Aizawa quietly. He’s too busy thinking over the stuff the teacher told him to put up a fight. The idea that in the future he won’t care that Deku doesn’t want to be his best friend or hero partner sits wrongly with Katsuki. They promised they would — if not with clear words, with their actions. They played hero every day together, that has to mean something.

All the way back to the dorms, Katsuki keeps mulling over why he’s so angry with Deku, Round Face and the future. It’s all wrong! It’s so wrong that he can’t help but think that this probably isn’t his real future, it’s an alternate reality where everything is the wrong way like he saw in a tv show once. It’s easier to believe in that than to believe this will really be his life.

When they got back to the dorms, Bakugou is once again attacked by the group of clowns who call themselves his friends.

“Little bro! How are you?” Kirishima sticks his dumb face too close to Katsuki and he feels his hand itching to explode the boy away.

“I’m fine,” he grunts, dodging the boy to keep walking towards the elevator. “I’m going to my room.”

“Without dinner? You know you get extra grumpy if you don’t eat.”

“I’m not hungry!” Katsuki yells frustrated and when he turns back to look at the elevator, he almost crashes against Round Face’s legs.

“Look who is back,” she says with humor. “The little trouble maker.”

For a second, Katsuki considers yelling at her to get out of the way, but then decides he needs more information to get to the bottom of this whole issue.

“Hey, Round Face, what’s the deal between you and Deku?” he asks, crossing his arms in defiance.

She smirks at him, “What do you mean?”

“Are you and Deku going to be hero partners?”

Uraraka tilts her head thinking. “Hero partners? Well, maybe. I honestly haven’t thought about that. I was planning on just being Deku’s partner. You know, I’m going to marry him.”

“What?” Katsuki yells, angry and confused. “No, you’re not!” he states without really knowing why.

“I’m not? And who will stop me?” she crosses her arms, looking down at him.

“I- I’m not going to let you! Deku will be my hero partner! He won’t have time for girls or weddings!”

“Well, Bakugou-kun, let’s see you try,” she challenges him smirking.

Furious, Katsuki pushes her to the side and marches to the elevator. His heart beats furiously in his chest and Katsuki feels angry. He’ll not let Round Face win! He’ll be Deku’s hero parner and he’ll marry the nerd if needed!

Decided, Bakugou goes to press the button to Deku’s room, but then he remembers he doesn’t know where Deku’s room is. As he stands frozen in doubt, Kirishima rushedly enters the elevator too.

“Wait up, little bro!” the redhead calls out before the doors close. Katsuki crosses his arms and turns his back to him. “Hey, chill. Uraraka was just rilling you up. That doesn’t mean anything.”

“I don’t care!” Bakugou screeches.

“Once you two go back to normal, you and Midoriya can talk about this hero partners stuff. I’m sure he’ll be happy to hear you’re interested in working with him.”

“No!” Katsuki protests. “I’m not waiting that long! This whole future is bullshit! I can’t let this all happen! I need to talk to Deku and fix everything now !”

“Fine, do you want me to take you to Midoriya’s room?” Kirishima asks calmly.

“Yeah,” Katsuki grumbles, without meeting the other boy’s eyes.

“And you promise you’ll behave? No more exploding stuff?”

“I will,” he grunts.

“Alright, let’s go,” Kirishima says, pressing the button.

As Kirishima walks him to Deku’s room, Katsuki decides that maybe his friends in the future aren’t so useless. At least Kirishima can do something right, the others are still just a bunch of extras. But it’s not like Katsuki needs more than that — he’ll have Kirishima as friend and Deku as a hero partner/wife. It’s more than enough for a hero.

“Midoriya? Can we come in?” Kirishima asks, knocking on Deku’s door.

A sniffled “Yes” comes from the other side and they open the door to find Deku crying his eyes out while hugging an All Might blanket. The moment the door opens, his face lightens up, though.

“Kacchan!” Izuku yells, running to tackle Bakugou in a snotty hug. “I was so worried! They took you away and no one knew when you’d be back! And everyone just kept telling me to calm down and that you were fine but you didn’t look fine when they took you away and no one let me go see you and-”

“Hey! Stop! Stop it! You’re getting snot all over me!” Katsuki yells, trying to get away from Deku, but the boy has a death grip on his waist. “I’m fine! Totally fine! Those losers wouldn’t be able to take me down even if they tried!”

“I know, because Kacchan is the strongest of all,” Deku agrees, nodding against Katsuki’s chest.

When Deku finally lets him breath, Katsuki takes a second to check Deku’s room out — and what he sees blows him away. Deku’s room has the coolest collection of All Might merch he’s ever seen.

“Is that a Bronze Age figurine?” he asks, already having completely forgotten the issues that brought him there in the first place.

They got so enthralled going over Deku’s All Might collection that they didn’t notice Kirishima quietly leaving the room. Katsuki had never seen so many cool All Might stuff together in his whole life, Deku really has the coolest stuff. In his own room, Katsuki has only seen a couple of figurines still in their boxes so he figured he shouldn’t touch them or else his future self might be very angry.

But Deku has several toys they can play around, and all kinds of pillows and blankets. So it’s natural that the need of making an All Might pillow fort in Deku’s bed would arise. The two of them work diligently in tying the blankets wherever they can reach (Deku’s lamp on his bedside desk and the window latch) to create the best fort they could, perfectly fit for two heroes in training.

“So this is our base now,” Katsuki states as they get comfortable in the fort. “We can come here after training to talk about strategies and stuff.”

“And we can watch All Might videos!” Izuku offers excited, pointing at the computer on the desk nearby. “As, you know, research!”

“Yeah, that sounds good,” he agrees, then Katsuki remembers about one important issue he should have addressed. “But it only fits the two of us here.”

“You think?” Deku asks, looking around. “I think we made it pretty large…”

“Don’t be a dummy, Deku! This is clearly a two-person fort!” Katsuki yells angry.

“Of course, Kacchan,” Deku smiles. “For the two of us!”

“So no Round Face,” he huffs.

“No… what?” Deku tilts his head in confusion.

“No Round Face. She can’t be our partner because she doesn’t fit in the fort.”

“Oh, you mean Ochako-nee? I don’t think she’s very interested in forts, Kacchan… She told me to not get the blankets dirty when I was picking which set I’d sleep in…”

Katsuki grabs Deku by his cheeks and forces the boy to face him. “So you promise! You promise it’s going to be me and you as partners! No other girl!... Or boy!”

“Of course,” Izuku answers with his cheeks still being squished. “They can be our friends and maybe work in our agency, but Kacchan will be my hero partner.”

“No hero partner! Just partner! In everything! You have to promise, Deku!” Katsuki demands, shaking Deku by the head.

“I promise, Kacchan! I promise!” Izuku says, trying to hold Katsuki’s hands to stop him.

“Fine,” he grunts, letting go of Izuku. “We can watch All Might videos now.”

Deku smiles at him and climbs off the fort to set the videos on his computer. They end up falling asleep draped one on the other, inside their little fort, with All Might videos playing in the background.

***

In the morning, Izuku wakes up smothered by a huge amount of blankets and pillows. He can feel Katsuki’s hard, warm body underneath him and the weight of what seems to be like his whole pillow collection on top of him. Slowly, he blinks his eyes and scavenges his brain for information that may explain his situation.

The first thing he understands is that the pillow fort collapsed on top of them. The second is that the quirk must have worn off during the night, he and Katsuki suddenly grew up and caused the fort to fall since it was clearly not designed to host two teenage boys. Sleepily, he starts fighting the pillows and blankets off so he can breath better, but that ends up waking his companion.

“The fuck you doing?” Katsuki grunts without opening his eyes.

“Saving us from a pillow avalanche,” he explains, kicking the last blanket off.

Katsuki opens his eyes and looks around confused at the mess in Izuku’s room. “What…?”

“Quirk during internship, it made us little for a couple of days. We made a pillow fort. But now it must have worn off.”

Bakugou closes his eyes for a while and huffs as the memories return to him as well. “I’m going to fucking murder those losers,” he threatens menacingly.

Izuku giggles, “Come on, it wasn’t so bad.”

“It wasn’t so bad for you! I had to put up with Dunce Face and Racoon telling me Round Face was flirting with you! And fucking Round Face told me she’d marry you!” Katsuki yells agitated and Izuku hugs him, forcing him to relax back in bed.

“Ashido and Kaminari don’t know anything. We agreed to keep this just between us, so they couldn’t have guessed. And Ochako… Well, she knows. She was just riling you up; probably thought it was funny.”

“I’m going to give her funny ,” Katsuki spits. “It’s going to be hilarious when I explode her damn face off.”

“Kacchan,” Izuku whines. “Behave. She’s been a great friend, keeping our secret since Valentine’s Day. She even covered for us during a couple of our dates.”

“Damn good it made us that she knew, she still decided to piss me off!”

“It actually did us a lot of good because I wouldn’t have had the courage to confess on Valentine’s if she hadn’t encouraged me,” Izuku says pouting.

The pouting breaks Katsuki’s annoyance and he pulls Izuku closer to his chest and gives him a small peck on the lips. “Yeah, I know… It still pissed me off to hear she’d be taking you from me…”

“That’s not going to happen ever and you know it,” Izuku answers, rubbing his cheek on Katsuki’s chest as Katsuki caresses his back.

“Maybe… Maybe we can tell the damn extras what’s going on… You know… It’s been a month already…” Katsuki grumbles awkwardly.

“What?” Izuku raises his head startled. “But you said-”

“I know what I said,” Katsuki interrupts him. “And it’s going to be a fucking pain to put up with those meddling idiots intruding in our private shit!... But it’s infinitely better than watching them trying to set you up with someone else…”

“Oun, Kacchan!” Izuku squeezes his boyfriend tightly. “I’d really like that.”

“Great… And let’s say this is your White Day’s gift since I couldn’t prepare anything, being a damn child and all of that,” Bakugou grumbles, making Izuku giggle.

“That’s the best present ever. Everyone will know Kacchan is my boyfriend!”

“Yeah, and fuckers will know you’re off the damn market,” Katsuki says before pulling Izuku to a kiss.

They kiss and snuggle for a while, before settling down to allow their brains to catch up with the memories they made as a child during the last couple of days. Izuku remembers his classmates excitement, Aizawa’s tired expression, being amazed by his own room, and the drawing he made for Ochako. Then his brain gets to the last night and he can’t help but see things with a different light now that he’s back to normal.

“Hey, Kacchan.”

“Hmm,” his boyfriend grunts, still with his eyes closed.

“When you talked about being partners in everything… Were you asking to marry me?”

The bright red blush that goes up to Katsuki’s ear is the only answer Izuku needs.
