King

Summary:

Midoriya Izuku was known as a wise king that made his country prosperous. All of his people loved him and he brought many changes to his country's laws and bridging the deep connection between aristocrats and commoners. He died at the age of 54, satisfied with what he had done to his country.

The current Midoriya Izuku was the son of Midoriya Hisashi and Midoriya Inko. He was born in an average family. However he was satisfied with his life. The only thing that was not known by many people, even his own family, was he still retained his previous memory of him, as a king.

"Well, I can think this as a very long vacation, right?"

But, what's with this hero business that seemed to hinder his desire to stay low?

"Hero? Villain? I don't care about that. However, if you dare harm my subjects, then please don't mind me if I have to take action. I am pretty possessive with what's belong to me, after all."

Chapter Text

Midoriya Izuku was a king. He died at the age of 54 because of an illness. Because he had never married, he entrusted his throne to his little sister.

"Eri, I entrusted this kingdom to you. Oh sister of mine, please make this country more prosperous and bring changes to this country."

"Brother! Please! Don't die." Grayish-blue hair sprawled around the king-sized bed, which the old king resided now. The pair of red eyes grew more redder, after crying non-stop for the man in front of her. Her trembling hands grabbed the skinny hands that held her face.

"Eri. Promise me. I know you can do it. You're my sister, after all." The green-haired man smiled softly. His curly hair started to become gray because of his old age. His body was really thin, showing that the man was infected with a deadly disease.

"Brother!"

The weak green-eyes of the man scanned through the room and stopped at the familiar red eyes near his bed. "Katsuki, please protect my sister."

The spiky-haired man clicked his tongue. "You don't have to mention it. I already know that I have to protect her majesty, stupid King." His usual harsh tone seemed to be a little bit softer. His red eyes showed a sign of fatigue and was a little bit puffy.

"I know you would. I trust you," Izuku then scanned the whole room, looking one-by-one to all of his precious subjects and friends. "...and all of you." Everyone who saw the eyes which were usually filled with vigor and kindness, now looked so weak, could only cry silent tears. After that, Izuku rested his head to the soft bed, locking his hands on top of his body and slowly closing his green eyes.

"My last order as your king," His voice might sound weak, but it still filled with authority which made everyone in the room knelt to the bed. "Protect this kingdom, make it more glorious, care all of its people, and obey all of my sister's orders as I entrusted this kingdom and all of its authority to her, Midoriya Eri" He took a huge breath. "And also, the most important thing that you all can't forget is to never falter and always keep your gaze straight. I leave everything in your hands now." And he let out his last breath.

At that time, thousand of people's cries could be heard in the kingdom. From commoner to aristocrat. From a small child to an old man. From male to female. Everyone was mourning the departure of their beloved king as the afternoon bell chimed at the background, signaling the end of Midoriya Izuku's journey.

Or so he thought.

Midoriya Izuku was reborn with the same name. He was previously a king and now he became a normal child again. When he first opened his eyes, he expected himself to be in heaven, but instead of a winged-angel, he actually saw a huge woman with long-green hair which looked messy and black curly-haired man on her side, looking at him with that silver eyes which filled with adoration. Then he found out that he was actually small and had turned back into a baby. He actually had been reborn! He might not find any angels with wings that day, however, he instead found his angelic new mother who had given birth of him with his goofy father who kept making funny faces. Maybe this new life won't be so bad after all. Just think of this as his long vacation that he desperately needed.

However, that thought didn't last long.

He met this world's Bakugou Katsuki when he was three. He had cried at sight of his closest knight and his childhood friend in front of him. He held onto the child version of his friend for hours, even though his mother and Katsuki's mother were trying so hard to pry him off. After that little incident, he was dubbed as a crybaby by his friend. But Izuku didn't care. He felt glad that he actually saw a familiar face in this life. Maybe he could find his other friends too? How about his little sister, Eri?

Another thing that caught the former king's interest was the term "hero". Izuku never really knew about hero before he met Katsuki. He had asked his friend about that unfamiliar term because the blonde-haired boy always said that he wanted to become the number one hero.

"Huh, you never heard of hero before?"

Izuku who was playing his game console, which he really found interesting when he first gifted by his father, looked at his bewildered friend. "Is it really that weird that I don't know about it?"

"Huh? Are you insane? You seriously don't know?" Katsuki let out a big sigh. "And here I thought you are a nerd who knows everything."

"I never really pay attention to it." That's actually the truth. Izuku was too focused on learning about the system and the history of this world that he actually never really cared about other things.

"So, what's with this hero thing that you always mention?"

"Fine, I'll explain it to you, nerd. Listen carefully." The eight-year boy moved closer to his green-haired friend. "So, heroes are these people who protect others from the bad people, which we called as villains."

"Hn? So they are like knights?"

"Knights? What are you? Five? Knights only appear in fairy tale. But I guess, its similar to that."

Now, this made little Izuku curious. He paused his game and put down his console. "And, how do these heroes fight?"

"They use quirk. Everyone in this world have a quirk. Well, not all. Some of them don't have it."

"Quirk? What is that? Is it similar to magic?"

Suddenly, both of Katsuki's hands let out a big pop which made Izuku moved back a little bit, before looking closely at his friend's hands.

"Oh wow! What is this? Looks so cool!"

"This is a quirk, dumbass. They appear when you reach four years old. And my quirk is explosion, which is a really powerful quirk that can make me the number one hero!"

"Heh..." Izuku proclaimed in wonder. This quirk was really fascinating. Guess it was similar like magic in his previous world, but more versatile. More importantly,...

"Why does some people don't have quirk?"

"Dunno." Katsuki laid down on his friend's comfy bed. "The doctors just said that 20% people in the world don't have quirk. They are called as quirkless."

Quirkless, huh? "Does it means that I also have a quirk?"

"I always thought you as quirkless. But you nerd actually don't even know about quirks. Have auntie or uncle ever mention anything about you doing check-up or something?"

Izuku tried to remember if his parents had mentioned anything about doctor when he was four. Maybe they had? He couldn't really recall. "Hmm, I don't really remember, maybe they have?"

"God, you're helpless."

"So, everyone think that I'm quirkless?"

Katsuki scoffed. "Of course. You are the only one that never show your quirk in class. But no one ever really try to ask you, me included. Even I have thought that maybe your quirk is just you being smart." Suddenly, the blonde-haired boy raised his body and moved his face closer to his friend's face, eyes filled with excitement. "Why don't you try it now?"

"Try what?" Izuku titled his head.

"Try your quirk. Maybe you can trigger something."

"How can I try it when I don't even know if I have one or not?"

"Argh! Just try something!" Katsuki screamed in frustration. "Like think about something powerful!"

Powerful? In his past life, his status as the king was the most powerful thing that he had. And there's one thing that held as a symbol of authority in his kingdom. The royal staff. He always brought it when he had gone to war or giving speeches in front of his people. The royal staff, was a symbol of royalty and power. Each King and Queen have their own royal staff, and they were the only one that could use it. Izuku's royal staff also raised his magic output, because his magic was a little bit too weak.

Suddenly, a bright light appeared in front of the boys, which surprised them both. The light gradually turned dimmer, and in Izuku's right hand was a familiar staff. This...!

"My royal staff!"

"Huh? Royal staff?" Katsuki moved his eyes and looked at the staff in his friend's hand. It was a golden staff which was quite long, maybe as tall as them, with golden vine pattern on its handle. The top part looked like a lantern, and inside of the glass was a green orb which was shining. The top of the lantern part had a small dragon with its wings spread out. "What is this staff? This is your quirk? How does it work?"

"...Wait, let me try it." If he had his royal staff, that mean he could used his magic. He stood up from his bed and held his staff in front of him. "Radiance Light". Bright light shined from the green orb in the staff and enveloped the entire room. Light sparkles started to dropped down around Katsuki and Izuku's body before finally it stopped.

"What the hell is that light?" All of a sudden, Katsuki moved his gaze towards his knee and saw that the wound that he got when he fell two days ago had gone. "This...! You can fucking heal!?"

"Language, my friend."

"Who cares about that now!" Katsuki jumped from the bed and grabbed Izuku's shoulder while shaking his friend back and forth. "You have a quirk!"

Well, it was actually Izuku's magic. He had light magic in his previous world. Unlike his friend's powerful fire magic or his sister's water magic, light magic mostly excelled in healing and giving blessing.

"But what's with the staff? Kinda weird."

"I also don't know, Katsuki." 'Well, because it's my symbol power.' Izuku then looked at the staff on his hand. Not only to amplify his magic, this staff was also used to give command and order in war. 'Can I do that?' He shook his head and once again held the staff in front of him. With the most perfect body stature filled with authority and prestige, he shouted his next words with dignity.

"I order you, the Leader of the Knights of the Red Tiger, to appear before me now."

After saying that, a person started to materialize in front of Izuku, which surprised the other boy in the room. The person that appeared before them wore a silver armor with red mantle with a symbol of a golden tiger on his shoulder. A huge black broadsword was on his back. His face was covered with a helmet and on top of the helmet was a red feather. Overall, this person really screamed a powerful knight. The person knelt before Izuku and putting his hand on his right chest.

Izuku, who was looking at the familiar knight in front of him, couldn't help but shed a couple of tears. He looked down and let out the most gentle smile.

"Welcome back, my dear friend."
