Chapter Text

You were a confident person. For your entire life, you've been able to get anyone to do seemingly anything for you. Maybe it was your looks, maybe it was your attitude, or your way of speaking, who knows. All you knew was that you could get what you wanted, as soon as you wanted it. You were truly powerful. This entire part of yourself was challenged by one man, the poster child of charm, a true man of mystery, known only as DIO.

You encountered him for the first time as you stumbled out of a bar. You had been showered with free drinks all night. Despite the male attention, you felt shallow. That's when his beauty had graced you. He spoke smoothly, calmly, as if he knew just what you needed to hear. He explained that he had been watching you from afar, noticing your particular skill set and commending your power over others. He explained this power was called a "stand" and said stand was the source of your manipulation of others. You weren't fully listening. Every inch of your body was completely overtaken by the confidence of this strange man. He had this certain aura to him, a kind of feeling that strikes fear into the hearts of men, like a predator slowly closing in on its prey. Your mind told you to run, there was something definitely wrong here. He had been watching you? Who even was he? You began to sweat. Was he a stalker? One look at him told you something was definitely strange about him. You wanted to run, but something was stopping you. You felt as if your body was frozen in time, unable to escape the charm of this man. He was stroking your ego in all the right spots. He asked you to join him, stating that he could use a woman of power like you. You honestly don't even remember saying yes but soon after you were employed by a man who's confidence outweighed yours tenfold.

You couldn't remember how many years you had been working for DIO. It wasn't all bad, he highly regarded you for your stand abilities and your persuasion skills. It was very unsettling to see all the women that would enter his chamber and not return, but he assured you that would never happen to you. You believed him. You could never doubt anything that he said, his words were always as soft as velvet, clouding your mind of any rational thought. He was truly a man of beauty.

He had put you in charge of finding recruits. His sources around the Middle East were reporting that two stand users were wracking havoc and that one of the two had been killed. The other apparently worked in pairs and was a crafty marksman, so DIO wanted you to get this mystery stand user on his side.

He had last been seen in India. You landed at the airport at night, so you figured there was no point in looking for the user tonight. You decided to get yourself a drink, that flight had been stressful (like most flights are for you, you can't stand planes). You were trying to find a quiet little place to unwind, and got your luck you ended up finding a small bar. Unfortunately for you, this particular bar wasn't the quiet you were looking for. "Who the fuck do you think you are, cowboy?!" Two men were in a fight in the middle of the bar. One of the men was very drunk, and the other one was dressed head to toe in a western outfit. The drunk had the cowboy by his collar. You had no clue what was going on, but the other patrons seemed too scared to try to settle down the conflict. Maybe you could try to help.

"Excuse me, is there a problem here...?" Your voice shot out over the sea of worried bar goers, and immediately got the attention of the two men. The drunk lets go of the cowboy. He starts to hobble over to you., barely even able to stand. "What's it matter to you?" You can smell the alcohol in his breath. "Well it seems that there's something going on here, I just wondered if there was some sort of issue..? You're causing a scene." This man was intimidating, but you made sure your voice was calm and clear to try to disarm him.

You were sure he wasn't in control of his actions and didn't want anyone to get hurt, and you wanted to calm the situation down with the least amount of confrontation and least use of your stans ability as possible. Your stand would emit a hazy gas from its palms that effected the pheromones of humans, making them completely entrances by you. You only learned that it was an ability when you met DIO, so before you were just sure you were irresistible to men. Now that you figured out it was an ability using it made you feel dirty. You tried to use your own charm on people without relying on anything supernatural.

This man however, was *not* loving anything about you. It seemed he was more pissed off at you then the man he originally had a problem with. "A scene? The only one making a scene is you, you bitch! Who do you think you are coming into MY bar, telling me what to do?" His words were slurred, but his actions were just. He prepared his fist to swing at you and you panicked. You were going to pull out your stand, but you knew it wouldn't be fast enough to change anything. His mind was set. You knew all you could do was try to dodge so you readied yourself.

Turns out you didn't need to worry. A gunshot grazes by both of you, hitting a rack of bottles behind you. The patrons start to run out of the bar, panicked and confused. You turn around to see the cowboy now aiming directly at the man with a strange looking gun. Did he have that on him the whole time? You hadn't seen a holster on him but to be fair you hadn't taken a good look at him. "This is between me and you, leave the lady out of this or else the next shot won't be a miss."

The man was furious. Before the cowboy could do what he promised the man rushed over, grabbed him, and head butted him as hard as he could. "Stop pulling my fucking bluff." The cowboy was barely listening. He had been knocked to the ground, landing on broken glass from the bottle rack, as well as his nose bleeding from the hit. The drunk grabs him by the collar and pulls him forward. "Don't you think I know you don't have a gun on you? You're lying."

Wait, what? You had clearly seen the gun, so why hadn't he? We both stared straight at it. Had he not noticed it due to obscured vision? You didn't understand, but you knew that shouldn't be your main focus right now. That cowboy has stood up for you, you needed to do the same. You grabbed an intact bottle from the rack behind you. The drunk had his back turned, now was your chance. You took the bottle and smashed it against his head, knocking him unconscious.

With the threat neutralized for now, you finally got a chance to get a good look at the cowboy. Compared to that man he seemed small, but in actuality he was quite big, at least in comparison to yourself. He was trying to get up but the cuts on his back and the cloudiness of his head was making it hard for him to actually do that, so you extended your hand. "You okay? You took quite a hit back there." He took your hand and propped himself up. "It's nothing I haven't handled before" he said with a smile. "Don't know how well that would have been without your help, though. I normally last a little longer than that." He says with a wink. He's already joking about the situation, so you figure he's fine and he's keeping the illusion well until he stumbles backwards and catches himself on the bar. He jokes about that as well, stating 'maybe he's had too much to drink too'. "You should really sit down you know", you were worried for him. You weren't a doctor but you had taken a couple head butts yourself and knew it was a bitch to try and stand up afterwards. "It's okay, you can rest a little. You don't need to pretend you're okay." That caught him off guard. Was he "pretending he was okay"? He sits on an stool, abandoned by a patron who ran out as the situation escalated. You do the same.

His nose was still bleeding. You go to hand him a handkerchief that was nestled in your pocket. He went to grab it, but as he moved a shard of glass in his arm nestled it's way deeper into his flesh. He winced and looked at his arm. "Didn't notice that there." It was big enough to be pulled out by hand, but his other hand was equally cut up. "Nothing you can't handle yourself, huh?" You chuckle as you reach other and pull the shard out suddenly. A hiss escapes his lips as he explains that normally he has someone with him to help out in situations like these. Suddenly everything comes together. Why the drunk couldn't see the gun. Why you were suddenly drawn to this bar. Why he was dressed so... oddly. He was a stand user, and the exact stand user you were looking for. "Do you want to avoid this happening again?" What kind of question was that? "I mean, no one really wants things like this to happen, right?" He laughed. He looks over and your face is stoic. "I'm serious. You obviously work better as a team, why not join one of the best teams in the world?" He's confused. "U-uh.. a team? Looks to me like you're by yourself too." "I was sent by my boss to recruit more stand users to his winning side, and his sources said that you were one powerful force. I was sent to get you to join." A boss? What is this, a mob? Suddenly it sinks into his brain. "Wait, stand users? What in gods name is a stand?" Instead of explaining, you pull out your stand. Everything now makes sense to him. His gun manifests right in front of you. "You talkin' about this? I've had this trusty gun my whole life, I didn't think anyone else had something like that." He didn't know why, but sharing something as important as this with this woman felt... intimate. He thought he was the only one but seeing someone like her with the same abilities sparked a sense of trust in him. "What do you say? There's a potential big payoff for you if you do join." His mind was set, even before she said anything about pay (although the pay certainly made it more appealing). "On one condition. Have a drink with me first?"
