Work Text:
March 2016
"It is not selling, Jimin." Yeorim slammed the paper on the desk in front of Jimin and he flinched. Scary. "No one wants to read this kind of story anymore, Jimin. We need romance, you know? That's how you will survive in the market."
"I understand, Yeorim-ssi. But I don't have any experience with writing romance or romance itself." Jimin mumbled while keeping his head down. He couldn't look at his boss. Not at that moment.
He heard a disappointed sigh and his heart ached harder as anxiety started spreading through his body. It was becoming harder to keep his breathing level.
"Jimin." The woman said. Jimin felt his heart accelerate at the mention of his name; he kept his head down, afraid of what was coming next. "We will be ending our contract if there isn't a change."
Jimin nodded. He looked at his hands whose fingers were intertwined and noticed how shaky he was. He hated feeling inferior.
"We will give you one last chance," Yeorim muttered while she was getting up from her chair. Jimin did the same and that time, he glanced up at her.
He regretted it. She gave him a fake smile while handing him back the draft of the story that would never be published. His heart ached in his chest and his legs were almost giving up on supporting Jimin.
Nevertheless, he smiled back and picked up the papers.
"I am expecting a romance from you next time you come here, Park Jimin." She bowed after saying her sentence and Jimin mirrored her, humming quietly.
He closed the door of his apartment violently, just barely hanging on to his composure through his frustration. The sound had been loud enough, though, as he ended up startling his two roommates, who were quietly watching a movie in their shared living room.
He heard footsteps running towards his way while he was taking off his shoes to put them on the small cupboard in the hall. As soon as he looked up, he saw both of his best friends scramble down the hall looking worriedly at him.
Jimin sighed.
"Didn't go well?" Jeongguk raised a question while his hand was on Taehyung’s waist, pulling his boyfriend closer into his embrace.
"It wasn't accepted..." Jimin mumbled disappointedly. Taehyung took a step forward, pushing his boyfriend away carefully and placed Jimin’s face between his hands. He squished his best friend’s cheeks and made him stare directly into his eyes.
“You're the best, Jiminie. You will get it next time.” Taehyung announced and rubbed Jimin’s cheek. However, Jimin’s mood wasn’t affected by such actions, making both boys in the room more apprehensive than ever.
“They want me to write romance…” He whispered. “How can I write romance when I’ve never experienced it?”
“You don’t have to experience something to write it, Jiminie.” Jeongguk replied back, reassuring his best friend. Jimin shook his head in disagreement, feeling dejected.
“My writing is all about true emotions- It’s what makes it special,” the older boy in the room muttered, leaving the couple with no answer to contradict Jimin’s argument. They all knew how Jimin’s writing worked. He shared his deep thoughts and ideas in his writing and that’s what made it captivating and unique.
“Then…” Jeongguk began to say but he seemed to stop himself, thinking better before proceeding to say more. But Jimin wanted to know; so he kept on staring at him with an intense and confused gaze in order to take the missing part out of his sentence.
“Then?” Both Taehyung and Jimin asked at the same time and Jeongguk chuckled embarrassedly.
“Fall in love?”
November 2024
The set was beige. Varying shades of it covered the room, from the comfy couch, the wooden table, the small interview cards, and even Jimin's favourite flowers, white lotuses, set in arrangements across the sound stage.
It set an airy and luxurious atmosphere for the interview and Jimin was very thankful for that impression. It has been almost six months since his last interview because he has been so occupied with his new book. When he got a call from the famous "YOUNG & BLOOD" magazine, he got very excited and accepted it right away.
At that moment, the very well-known MC Kim JiYa sat right next to the writer while showing the most elegant smile on her face. She picked up the cards, previously set on the table, and looked at Jimin with a warm expression. The young lady noticed the way Jimin was wringing his hands due to his nerves; therefore, she reassured the pink-haired writer that everything would go flawlessly.
"We will start filming in a few moments, Park Jimin-ssi." The MC with beautiful straight black hair smiled sweetly. Jimin nodded and murmured a small thank you. "Are you ready?"
"Of course." As soon as Jimin said those words, the camera turned on and a red dot was visible on it. They were filming and Jimin tried his best to feel as relaxed as possible.
“Ok!” The director entered the room. “We are starting the recording in 3, 2, 1! Start!”
"Hello everyone!" JiYa waved at the camera while Jimin smiled. "Today, we have a very special guest with us! The famous writer, Park Jimin!"
The excitement in her voice made Jimin feel calmer. He giggled at the camera and waved cutely.
"Hello, guys!" He put on his best smile and found his composure.
"So, Park Jimin. How do you feel about being interviewed after roughly six months?" JiYa glanced at Jimin when she finished reading the question written on her tiny white customized cards. Jimin chuckled at the topic.
"Very nervous." He answered with honesty while he rubbed his hands on his thighs. He felt very uneasy at that moment; however, he did his best to shrug that feeling away, turning his shy nature into charm. "But you make it easier, JiYa-ssi."
"Park Jimin-ssi!" The youthful lady hit Jimin playfully with her cards and grinned at him. "You really do know how to move a person's heart." Jimin's eyes turned into a gorgeous crescent while smiling at JiYa.
"I am a writer after all." He confided happily and tugged his pink hair, which was falling in front of his pretty eyes, behind his small cute ear.
"Yes, you are a writer. An excellent one." She said in an affirmative attitude as she was lifting her white card to read the next question. Jimin looked attentively at her moments and waited excitingly for the following question. "What is the favorite book you've ever written?"
Well, even though Jimin had been a writer for almost ten years, he had never gotten that question surprisingly. His favorite book had never changed though.
"Our Life in Paper." Jimin acknowledged and JiYa cooed at him. Jimin felt his heart pump faster. He had always been ready to answer that question ever since the book had come out; however, finally being able to let it out was thrilling.
"It is your most famous work." Jimin nodded at JiYa's statement. "It is all due to the way you portray the protagonist's feelings. Most reviews say the book feels too real for something which was written." Jimin laughed at the praise and mumbled a small thank you, bowing his head a slight bit.
All of Jimin's books were based on either fictional idea between him and the person he loved or just half realistic half romanticized events that would occur whenever he was with the person he desired the most. But, Our Life in Paper was the only book based entirely on true events. The story talked about his and his lover's love story. From how they meet, to how they start dating and to how they die happily together.
"Is there any special reason why your main character has the same job as you and even has some traits similar to yours?" Jimin froze for a few seconds. JiYa kept looking at him with the same questioning expression, waiting for the writer to give a satisfactory answer.
"Oh." Was all that came out of the younger's mouth. However, his mind was full of answers that could never be said out loud.
Yes, he wrote the book about his own true experience. Yes, he was the protagonist; therefore, he didn't change many traits. Yes, the lover in the story had the same job as his lover in real life: a photographer. Yes, he had loved that person for almost ten years.
None of that could be spoken. At least, not publicly.
"Writers are also able to feel love, right?" Jimin tried to play off his nervousness and thankfully JiYa looked satisfied with his answer. When he let out that question, he felt a weight lift from his shoulders. It was as if he was finally letting go of an anchor pulling him down.
"Indeed, Jimin-ssi." He let his back drop back against the chair and breathed in quickly so no one could catch on to his nervousness. "Last question, Park Jimin."
Jimin straightened up and positioned himself in the chair in a confident manner, listening carefully to the question.
"Can we get a spoiler for the next book?" JiYa asked conspiratorially. His eyes widened softly. They broadened not because he felt surprised but because he was very excited. He always loved giving spoilers to their fans as they would feel more eager and captivated to read his upcoming books. He adored going online and reading his fans going crazy about a minor detail he either did or said. He cherished his fanbase a lot.
"Sure, why not?" He stared directly at the camera and smirked. The cameraman even zoomed in a bit as he was probably affected by the intense yet sweet way the pink-haired boy was gazing at the camera. "It is called Written In The Stars and it is about falling in love with someone when you have fallen out in love with yourself."
“Cut! Great job everybody,” the director called out.
The camera ceased recording.
April 2016
Fall in love. It kept on repeating in Jimin’s mind; like a broken cassette tape in his brain almost every day for almost one month.
It was easier said than done.
He closed his eyes and felt the breeze of the wind hit his skin, taking deep breaths; enjoying nature's sound and smell. It had been almost a month since Jimin went out in order to have motivation.
His space for motivation would usually be at home; however, at that moment, he felt like he needed more exposure to the outside. Therefore, Jimin was currently sitting on a bench at Seoul Forest.
He opened his notebook after a deep breath and looked down at his scribbled notes. There was nothing written that would be helpful for the upcoming story. Jimin just closed the book frustrated and let his head fall on his hands, keeping it facing the ground.
He sighed.
He lifted his head slowly and started looking at the couples either running through the park or simply having a good time together.
Yes, maybe he could start by writing simple hangout scenes. Maybe his creativity could help and develop some feelings onto the scenes. Maybe–
Jimin's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a camera clicking that startled Jimin. He jumped a little bit and his pen fell on the ground, rolling over to a stranger's shoes.
Jimin stared at the shoes and then his eyes slowly panned upwards, analysing the person's form until he stopped at the sight of a camera. He jumped up quickly from his seat.
"Why-Why did you take a picture?" Jimin asked rapidly without looking at the man's face. There was no response from the stranger. He was just completely frozen looking at Jimin. "Are you a journalist? Or maybe… A STALKER?" Jimin yelled, scared. The dumbstruck man panicked.
"No! No!" The boy waved his hands; signalling the refutation of Jimin’s anxious shout. Due to the action, Jimin perked up at the boy's fall and his heart stopped for a second. The strange boy was beautiful. His body was very petite yet strong. His shoulders were large, but his thighs were very thin which made Jimin feel very endeared by such traits. His eyes were very dark which made a very beautiful contrast to his white and cotton-alike skin tone. His blond hair seemed very fluffy and Jimin felt the biggest urge to run his fingers through the boy's hair while maybe leaving small pecks on the boy's cute and small nose.
Oh. He was so sexy yet so lovely.
Jimin shook his head, trying to stop his mind from wandering in the wrong place. He looked at the boy who kept on mumbling nonsense and making Jimin feel more lost than he already was.
"So-Sorry?" Jimin asked, feeling embarrassed.
"You're pretty." The man with blonde hair said but then he hit his forehead slightly and shook his head, closing his eyes tightly. "Wait! No! I mean you are pretty but-"
Jimin started giggling as the stranger's face turned all red. There was a weird sensation spreading through Jimin's body and he felt his heart pumping harder each time he would look at the man and he felt the need to embrace the other boy. He felt his chest aching harder and his breath becoming laboured. However, all those feelings were somehow pleasurable and Jimin couldn't stop smiling.
"It was a pretty view." The boy with the camera mumbled while his mouth was forming a pout.
Jimin hummed. "Well… You shouldn’t take pictures without the person’s consent though…” The boy nodded and apologized quietly. “But…” Jimin bit his lip. “Can I see the picture?"
The boy swallowed and scratched the back of his neck while he chuckled a bit, his cheeks tinged in a very cute rosy tone. He hesitated for a second before handing the camera to Jimin to which he mumbled a small thank you.
As soon as he looked at the picture, he was amazed. If he were honest, Jimin didn’t understand much about photography. To be more precise, the only thing he knew was the rule of thirds; however, he never really tried to put it into practice. Seeing such astonishing photography really did move Jimin. Half of his face was exposed to the sun, which made his eyes shine lighter than ever. He was gazing slightly to the sky and his posture screamed relaxation in contrast to his emotions that screamed stress. The natural and lovely scenery behind him made the photo itself feel softer as well as the angle the photo had been taken. Such daily-life photography looked the most flawless and Jimin was speechless by the amount of feeling he was getting by the simple photograph.
“This is…” Jimin started saying; however, he was still too focused on the photo to say something understandable. “Perfect…” He looked up at the stranger whose face had gotten redder due to the compliment. Jimin laughed.
“It is really nothing.” The boy with blonde hair mumbled.
“Excuse m-,” Jimin almost snapped at the boy but he was interrupted by him.
“What makes the photo perfect is actually you.”
There was that weird sensation again. His whole body felt electrified by the boy’s words and his heart kept on craving for something unimaginable. He felt his face getting hotter each second; he touched his cheeks slightly to feel the warmth but quickly shook his head to get his mind into the right place.
"Thank… you." He replied in a very soft and quiet voice that was almost inaudible, but the stranger heard every single word. He smiled and Jimin's mind froze. For a few seconds, the world stopped around Jimin; his eyes were only fixed on the stranger whose smile was the most attractive and beautiful he had ever seen in his life. He placed his hand above his heart and gripped his shirt. He felt his heart pumping harder and each heartbeat was so strong that Jimin thought his heart would fall from his body at any time.
"I am Min Yoongi, by the way. Thank you for liking my photos. I don't hear compliments that often." The boy named Yoongi replied and Jimin pouted after hearing him.
"Well, you truly deserve the praise." Jimin giggled and Yoongi softened at the sight of it. He took his camera from Jimin's hands carefully and put the strap, which was holding it, back around his neck. Jimin mumbled a small sorry to which Yoongi simply smiled weakly.
"Thank you…?" Yoongi answered in a leading tone in order to ask his name indirectly and Jimin's eyes widened.
"J-Jimin." His mind cursed at him for stuttering. He coughed, clearing his throat. "Park Jimin."
Min Yoongi smiled at him, extended his hand and Jimin looked at it, confused. Was he a foreigner? Why was he extending his hand? Was Jimin supposed to shake it…?
He extended his hand as well and the boy with blonde hair grabbed it carefully, still with a graceful smile on his face and shook their hands. He kept looking at the movement of their hands and giggled once they broke off. Yoongi's hands were so big; they could totally cover both of Jimin's hands or even maybe his entire face. Those hands were very veiny, and his fingers were the longest and prettiest he had ever seen. Those traits were so endearing for Jimin.
"Nice to meet you." He mumbled while his expression screamed excitement.
Maybe Jimin did fall in love at that moment.
December 2024
Yoongi was supposed to come to his house to hang out an hour ago; however, there was no sight of him. Jimin had been trying to call him yet no response was given. He was getting extremely worried.
He knew Yoongi had to stay at the shop later than usual sometimes and maybe that day was one of those days. Jimin was anxious about his lateness today because his best friend would always warn him on those late days.
He paced around the house, listening to some songs, trying to keep himself calm. He stopped his wandering as soon as he heard the doorbell. He ran towards the monitor and Yoongi’s image appeared. Jimin immediately let out a sigh of relief.
He clicked on the button next to the monitor to open the front gate so Yoongi could enter the private building. The older boy knew the password to Jimin’s apartment, so the pink-haired male walked towards the living room and waited for Yoongi while taking a seat on the couch.
A minute or two later, he heard the door opening. He tilted his head and looked at his best friend entering his apartment. He looked exhausted.
“Hello, Jiminie.” Sounded exhausted too. Jimin pouted and waved at his hyung whose expression changed completely once he saw him. “Why are you pouting?”
Jimin looked down and rubbed his hands on his thighs, feeling embarrassed. Yoongi walked into the living room as Jimin sat there, thinking.
“You’re tired,” Jimin mumbled. He looked up at Yoongi and noticed a very small smile on his face, making Jimin’s cheek grow a little rosy and his heart pounding a little bit faster than usual.
“I had a shitty day.” Yoongi scratched the back of his neck while his cheeks grew a little hotter. “But seeing you makes it infinitely better.”
Jimin’s blushing intensified and he felt like a hot mess. He picked the nearest pillow and hit Yoongi slightly while the older male just kept on giggling. It was a beautiful sound to hear.
“Quite teasing.” You make my heart feel like it’s going to race right out of my chest.
The older male chuckled and sat next to Jimin when he stopped hitting him with the pillow. Jimin gazed at him and noticed the bags under his eyes. His whole body seemed to look more fragile than ever and his voice sounded more sorrowful.
The boy pink-haired placed his hands on his hyung’s shoulder and started massaging it. At first, Yoongi tried to reject such action; however, Jimin kept on insisting it and whispering for his hyung to simply relax. Yoongi did. He melted into Jimin’s touch and let himself enjoy the pleasurable massage.
“Do you wanna talk about your day, hyung?” Jimin asked and rubbed Yoongi’s back, making him let out a small groan.
“I don’t wanna bother you, Jiminie.” The boy with black hair muttered and kept on enjoying his best friend’s message, closing his eyes as he relaxed.
“Hyung…” Jimin stopped his movements and Yoongi turned around to face him with a pout and eyes that screamed ‘why did you stop?’. On the other hand, Jimin’s emotions were a mess of worry for his best friend’s health. He hated when Yoongi dealt with things alone. They are supposed to be two in this game called life, a team. “You will never ever bother me.”
Yoongi sighed and let his back drop on the couch; Jimin did the same. Both contemplated the ceiling, looking at his whiteness and simplicity, wishing for life to be as simple as it.
“I was fired…” There was a pause in his speech. Jimin looked at Yoongi’s hand near his thigh and it was forming a tight fist, nails gripping on his own skin. The boy with pinkish hair placed his hand above his hyung’s hand and felt the older male sigh and release the tension bottled up inside. Yoongi opened his hand and let Jimin’s fingers slide into his and intertwined them in the most flawless way. “The…”
Yoongi kept his head down. Jimin peeked at his hyung and noticed a little tear streaming down his face; he held his hyung’s hand tighter.
He was there. Yoongi wasn’t alone.
“The landlord will raise the rent and I have nowhere to go after the month ends. My boss simply told me today how they have an excessive amount of staff.” Yoongi whispered, trying to maintain stability in his voice. However, Jimin could sense how close he was to breaking apart. It hurt him. “I keep getting refused by companies. I failed.”
“Hyung…” Jimin mumbled while looking at Yoongi and kept avoiding eye-contact. “Hyung, look at me.” Yoongi gazed up slowly and as soon as he locked eyes with Jimin, he felt the younger’s hand release from his own to place both of his hands on Yoongi’s cheeks.
“Please don’t say that. It hurts my heart. You are anything but a failure. I am sorry they fired you and your landlord is an ass. Companies nowadays are too basic, and your photography is too good for them. I am not saying it because we are friends, hyung. You know I've always loved your photos since we first met.” Yoongi sighed once Jimin paused in the middle of his speech and removed his hands from his face slowly. “You… you can live here with me… while you don’t have a place to stay.” Yoongi stared at Jimin and blinked… once… twice… three times until his brain processed an answer.
“I don’t wanna bother you, Jiminie.” Yoongi mumbled quietly. There was a sorrowful tone in his speech and Jimin felt his heart tighten. Yoongi would never ever be a bother to him; his presence would actually make him feel better during his daily life.
Maybe Jimin was actually a little selfish too. He wanted the older boy all to himself.
“Hyung. I like to be with you and living with you will be even better.”
Yoongi ran his hands through his thighs, feeling anxious. Jimin could sense it perfectly; therefore, he placed his hand on his hyung’s hands, stilling the anxious movement. He felt his hyung relax as his heart eased. There was a long deep silence between them that Jimin could clearly hear the sound of the striking clock in the main hall and their steady breathing.
"Jimin…” Yoongi broke the silence pronouncing Jimin’s name. The younger felt his heart stop for a moment as he wasn’t expecting to hear his own name. Yoongi went silent again, still hesitant in his answer until, “Are you sure?" Yoongi's eyes were wide open as he was asking the question. The boy with pink hair giggled and hummed.
Jimin felt more relaxed. Yoongi was considering his idea.
"Hyung, you know I am more than ok in terms of money. I wouldn't mind you living here forever." The pink-haired boy chuckled and Yoongi smiled weakly.
"I will try to find a job as soon as possible. Thank you, Jiminie." The man with black hair ruffled his hair. "I am truly grateful."
"Sleep here tonight?" Jimin begged and Yoongi nodded while humming.
He felt his hyung's hand on his and smiled happily. He tilted his head slowly so he could peek at his hyung and noticed how his eyes were closed. They linked their fingers and Jimin put his head on his hyung's shoulder before whispering, "Good night, hyung" and receiving a simple yet heartfelt hum back.
The café was full and very noisy. Luckily, due to Jimin's influence (and money), he had a private room in the café. He wasn't really keen on the idea of writing outside his comfort place; however, whenever he felt tired of his home there were two places he would always go, one of them being the café.
Jeongguk and Taehyung were sitting with Jimin. Both of them were very immersed in the pink-haired boy's story from last night.
"So…" Jeongguk started speaking, tilting his head and making some weird movements with his hands as if he was doing some math problems on the air. "Yoongi-hyung is staying with you?" Jimin hummed.
"What if hyung sees your drafts? Those which have his and your name?" Taehyung asked hurriedly and with a smirk on his angelic face.
Jimin rolled his eyes.
"He won't see it. I am very careful!" The younger boys stayed silent at Jimin's statement. "Yah! You brats!" He hit both boys on their heads and both groaned at the contact.
"Hyung, you are basically a fanfic writer." Jeongguk laughed and Taehyung followed him soon. Jimin kept on looking at his ex-roommates with a deathly stare which eventually made them stop with the laughing.
"I am not." Jimin simply said back, then he took a sip of his macchiato and hummed due to the pleasurable flavour.
"You write stories about your fantasies with Yoongi-hyung," Taehyung replied and his boyfriend nodded agreeing with him.
"It is not fanfiction… it’s… inspiration." The pink-haired boy stated but both boys shook their heads at him and Jimin sighed at their teasing.
"Whatever you say, Jimin-hyung." The youngest boy said with a mocking tone that made the dark brown, curly-haired boy grin yet again.
Afterward, Taehyung stole Jeongguk's drink, making the conversation drift away from his and Yoongi's situation. However, the topic stayed very present in Jimin’s mind.
After one week, everything from Yoongi's old apartment was placed in Jimin's. The spare room was at the moment Yoongi's new bedroom and Jimin’s writing room turned into Yoongi’s photography room. At first, Yoongi didn’t like the idea of Jimin giving his workroom; however, the younger boy insisted that he only needed a computer, a chair, a table and he would be the happiest.
Yoongi couldn’t really say no when Jimin pouted to him. Jimin knew how his hyung was weak for his cuteness and Jimin would never hesitate to use it.
Yoongi was always very detailed when it came to decoration. Aside from his love for photography, the older boy loved the art of interior design; therefore, while moving in he helped in the house's reorganization.
"You might as well just move in forever." Jimin let out while he was looking at Yoongi who was hanging up the last photo on his half of the office. "This looks so endearing."
Jimin glared at the pictures pinned on the wall stunningly. He never understood why companies would always reject his hyung's work when all those pieces were so creative and unique. The world wasn't truly prepared for his domination.
"They aren't that good, Jiminie." Yoongi got closer to the wall and brushed his fingers on some photos before stopping on a specific one. "You see this one. The flower was not supposed to be the focus. The purpose of the picture was to show the beauty in the shadow of it; however, the first thing the human's eyes see is the flower as it is in the main plan and its presence is very captivating."
Jimin rolled his eyes slightly and took a step closer, taking a better look at the photo Yoongi was criticizing. He tried to understand the meaning behind the explanation and even though it made some sense, Jimin couldn't see any imperfections on the said photo. The small flower was indeed very mesmerizing; however, the shadow projected by it was even more beautiful due to the over details and trace, as if it was a painting on the wooden floor.
"Hyung… You're being too mean to yourself. That photo is so perf-,"
"Maybe that's why I am never accepted," Yoongi said, interrupting the younger's speech. "It is never too detailed… or flawless…"
Jimin sighed and rested his hand on his hyung's shoulder, rubbing it a little bit. Yoongi turned to his side and stared at Jimin whose lips were forming a very cute pout.
"Hyung. Your photos are unique. I've never seen anything like most of the pictures here. You're a genius." Jimin mumbled in a very soft tone which made Yoongi sigh deeply.
Jimin knew how discouraging it could be to be constantly rejected and he had always admired his hyung for never giving up on his love for photography. However, over the years Yoongi became more self-conscious and insecure of his own talent; thus, Jimin had been trying to praise every single piece and helped him reignite his self-esteem – because Yoongi merited it.
"Why don't you start an Instagram account and share your photos?" Jimin asked and Yoongi's eyes widened at the suggestion. From Jimin's point of view, it seemed like his hyung had never thought of it. As soon as he saw the black-haired boy's eyes relaxed, Jimin realised that maybe Yoongi was interested in the idea; therefore, he continued with his speech. "You can also share your interior design ideas! You can share things from the house or even make some vlogs on how you take pictures."
The older boy seemed lost in his own world and Jimin didn't want to pressure him, so he walked to his sofa-chair and waited for the older boy to answer him. Instead of following his movements, Yoongi kept on gazing at the wall full of photos, revealing hints of hesitation.
"I-"
"I think I can try." Yoongi replied, interrupting Jimin. He turned around to meet Jimin whose smile was the widest.
Due to the overall excitement, Jimin picked up his iPhone rapidly and opened the Instagram application.
"I'll promote you after you create the account. Come here." Jimin signalled with his hand for Yoongi to get closer to him. Yoongi sighed but the younger boy knew that the sigh wasn't bad. He knew his hyung was as excited as him.
"Jiminie." Yoongi confided while he walked over to his dongsaeng. He ruffled his hair teasingly and smiled at him. Jimin's heart pumped hastily and time seemed to have stopped due to that gummy smile. “You know you don’t have to do that. I’ve told you that before." Yoongi ended his answer while his mouth formed a pout.
Jimin hummed while his eyes molded a cute crescent shape. He tapped on his screen a few times before appearing the log-in/sign up page. "I know, hyung! Just this once!"
"Ok." The boy with black-haired murmured and pushed the spare-chair on the room to their side. He sat next to the younger boy and both started discussing his new Instagram.
A new start.
It was Saturday night. Hoseok had invited him and his ex-roommates to his house, for a hang-out. Hoseok was also a writer; however, he wrote crime-type stories. He was a bestselling writer in that genre.
Hoseok and Jimin met when Jimin's first romance novel came out to the public and was successful. At that time, the younger boy was very surprised when such a well-known writer reached out to him. He was also a very big fan of Hoseok's series 'Willingly Dead'. After a few hangouts, they became very close and nowadays, Hoseok was the only writer he could fully trust in that industry and he was very thankful for his existence in his life.
"How is your new book going, Jimin?" Hoseok raised the question while he wiggled his eyebrows. Jimin ran a hand through his hair, trying to get the hair out of his eyes.
"I haven't had time to write much of it lately becau-"
"Yoongi-hyung is living with Jiminie." Taehyung announced loudly over Jimin, excited to share the new development with their friend. Hoseok almost fell from his chair due to Tae’s enthusiasm and the shock it gave him. Both Jeongguk and Taehyung cackled at the older boy's behaviour.
"Jiminie!" Hoseok almost yelled, his eyes wide open. Jimin rolled his eyes and hit Taehyung's arms due to the exposition. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"It is no big deal, hyung…" Jimin muttered while his cheeks were fully rosy.
There were loud laughs sounding through his ears as soon as he finished his sentence. Hobi was pointing at his red cheeks and then clapped loudly while Taehyung was hitting the table, almost breaking it.
"Jimin says while his face is heati-,"
"Stop narrating, you brat!" Jimin smacked Jeongguk's head (with not so much strength) and the young boy faked his pain, making the other boys in the room laugh even harder.
Jimin pouted cutely. Maybe he quite enjoyed being teased by his closest friends. It was a nice feeling.
"You've liked Yoongi-hyung way before we met and we met like six years ago, Jimin," Hoseok told him and Jimin sighed, trying to ignore his statement.
"It is not that easy to get over him." When Jimin ended his comment, loud sighs echoed throughout the apartment. Hoseok kept shaking his head while his facial expression showed disappointment.
"No one is telling you to get over him," Hoseok stated and the two boyfriends hummed, agreeing with the older male. "Why don't you just do something about it?"
"Like what?"
"Ask him on a date?" Taehyung suggested.
The thought of going on a date with Yoongi had been in Jimin's mind since forever. However, he had always been very scared of being rejected by the older so he kept his urge to have a special hangout with his hyung in his mind only.
"I-," There was a noticeable hesitation in his speech. He wanted to say yes but the feeling of frustration after the rejection that could happen was somehow very strong in his mind.
"Just try… for once. Trust me." Taehyung muttered quietly and grabbed Jimin's hand, squeezing it a little bit. Jimin melted into his touch and felt his heart calm down a little bit.
"I will try.”
Asking out the person you've loved for 8 years shouldn't be a problem. It shouldn't.
But it was for Park Jimin.
He was sweating so hard; he had changed his shirt three times in seven hours. Yoongi has gone outside to take some fresh new photos for his Instagram feed. It had been four days since he had created the account and he already had 55K followers and more than 100K likes on his three posts. The younger boy could sense the happiness in his hyung. The feedback from his photos made Yoongi feel more motivated that he had even already made a vlog that would be posted within the following week.
However, as Yoongi had been very busy with his new life, Jimin had barely been able to spend time with him despite living in the same house. He disliked it.
There was a soft knock on the door which startled Jimin. He looked at his computer screen and rapidly saved the document which had his and Yoongi's name written.
"Y-Yes?" He coughed quietly, trying to clear his throat.
His black-haired roommate appeared with a soft smile on his face. Jimin's eyes were fixed on the boy and his mouth was half-open due to the beauty of the male in the room. He walked quietly towards Jimin and sat on the bed, right behind Jimin. Jimin turned his chair around to meet Yoongi.
"Hi, Jiminie." Yoongi said and handed Jimin a coffee. To be precise, a caramel macchiato; his favourite. Jimin mumbled a very soft 'thank you' and Yoongi nodded.
"Hyung!" Jimin mumbled in a very excited tone that made Yoongi chuckle due to such cuteness. "I have great news for you!"
"For me?" Yoongi raised his eyebrow and Jimin hummed while nodding his head innocently. "Wha-"
Jimin handed a piece of paper, interrupting his hyung's talking. Yoongi looked at those papers with a confused look before picking them up and started analyzing them.
"We are JinPho–" His eyes widened just by reading the first paragraph. Yoongi looked at his best friend with the most shook face while Jimin was smiling endearingly at him. "You…"
"Yeah…" Jimin replied while giggling. "Actually, they tried to contact you first but you didn't answer them, so they contacted me afterward."
Yoongi was speechless. He never really thought he would have such a big opportunity in his life. JinPhoto Labels was known to have the best photographers and models in the world. It was actually one of the strongest markets worldwide from South Korea and the Label that brought the most to the country’s economy. Yoongi never thought about applying to it because he knew he would be rejected immediately but at that moment, they were contacting him to make a full contract.
Yoongi was about to become a real photographer.
“Jimin…” Yoongi’s voice sounded soft. He kept on gazing at the documents without mummering much other than the boy’s name. Jimin just kept on smiling while looking at his hyung.
He had never seen Yoongi so happy and that made his heartache from happiness.
“If you want the job, the CEO requested an interview with you next Tuesday, 10th December.” Jimin said and squished his hyung’s thighs, trying to catch his attention.
“Right. Ok.” Yoongi whispered, trying to keep his focus. The pink-haired boy took a quick sip from the drink, unknowing getting foam on his upper lip.
“Are y–,”
Jimin's speech was interrupted quickly by Yoongi. The older male leaned forward and wiped the foam away; his thumb grazing Jimin’s plump lips. Jimin felt his cheeks grow hotter due to the closeness between him and his hyung as well as the soft way Yoongi looked at him as he quickly licked the foam off of his thumb.
"A baby," Yoongi mumbled and Jimin pouted at his hyung.
Nevertheless, he felt his heart speed up from the pet name Yoongi had called him. He really loved the way the word rolled off his tongue. Jimin loved it as much as the way he heard Yoongi call his name. To be fair, everything Yoongi said sounded so endearing. His smooth yet raspy voice was such a beautiful sound to Jimin’s ears. In his deepest dreams, he wished for Yoongi to whisper beautiful things to him every night before falling asleep.
"Hyung…" Jimin groaned and Yoongi kept on smiling while staring at Jimin with a lovely expression. "I am not a baby."
Yoongi opened his mouth to say something. However, he stopped his action and simply scratched the back of his neck as his ears turned into a rosy tone.
An awkward silence filled the room. Yoongi kept on looking around Jimin's room as if it was the first time he had ever been there, while Jimin was staring at his phone, simply turning it off and on.
"Well!" Yoongi said and got up from Jimin's bed very quickly. "There is your coffee… so… yeah…"
Jimin wanted to ask it. He wanted to ask Yoongi out at that moment. But his body wouldn't go forward and stop Yoongi from leaving. Possibilities of rejections started crossing his mind and fear started spreading all over his body until…
"Hyung!" Jimin almost yelled which made Yoongi startled, almost spilling his coffee all over the floor. He turned around and looked at Jimin who had gotten up quickly from his chair while calling his name. "I-" He gulped.
There was too much hesitation in Jimin. Yoongi tilted his head cutely due to the confusing situation in his point of view. Jimin breathed deeply before saying what he's always wanted.
"I need you to go on a date with me to help me with my next scene in the book."
However, it was said in a completely wrong way.
Yoongi simply choked on his coffee. "A-a date?"
Jimin cursed mentally before humming, trying to sound as normal as possible. "For my book, of course." He added.
After the successful interview from the day before, Yoongi and Jimin decided that they would be going to celebrate it during the weekend and used those days to go on the “date”. The date to help Jimin write his book, nothing else.
Jimin was sitting in the living room with his computer, going through his twitter and chatting with his followers while Yoongi was back in the kitchen. The smell of the recently cooked food wafted through the kitchen to the living room where Jimin was. It made Jimin’s mouth water due to the amazing smell it had. His stomach growled; he rubbed it and mumbled some words of comfort – as if his stomach had the ability to understand him.
He closed his computer, got out of his seat slowly while he was sniffling the tasty smell and followed it. Once he opened the door to the kitchen, the smell was more intense than ever. Yoongi’s back was facing Jimin and he was wearing Jimin’s yellow apron while staring at the bowl with lots of mixed things in it. Jimin approached him and hugged him from behind, startling his hyung – who almost dropped the bowl in his hands.
"Jimin!" He yelled as he tried to grab the bowl so it wouldn't fall. Jimin ended up laughing at his hyung's reaction while Yoongi sighed relieved that nothing had fallen from his shock. "Don't do that again." The black-haired male mumbled but Jimin kept on hugging the older. His arms were around Yoongi's waist while his face was resting on his shoulder. He could totally fall asleep in that position. Yoongi was so comfortable.
"You don't like it when I hug you?" The younger boy murmured while pouting. Yoongi rolled his eyes and ignored Jimin's comment to continue preparing the food.
Jimin's pout intensified and Yoongi could feel the younger boy's chin modified as he pushed his bottom lip forward to look even endearing. Even without seeing him, Yoongi knew Jimin looked the cutest at that moment.
"Jim-"
His speech was interrupted by his cell phone ringing. Jimin let go of Yoongi in order to grab his hyung's phone. He looked at the screen and read the name to himself before saying it out loud.
"It's GeumJae-ssi."
"Can you put it on speakers?" Yoongi begged as he hurried to wash his hands on the sink.
Jimin accepted the call.
"Hyung!" Yoongi said in a very loud tone because he was far away from the actual phone. Jimin took the phone to Yoongi's side so it would be closer to him.
"Yoongi-yah." It was Yoongi's brother's voice. "Are you busy?"
"I am making dinner for Jimin and me." Due to the sudden mention of his name, Jimin's eyes widened.
"Romantic, I see." A long and awkward silence spread through the room once GeumJae dropped such a bomb. Jimin kept on holding the phone, eyeing the screen, his mind wiped clean from the shock of that statement. Yoongi had stopped drying his hand at that exact moment, probably shook by it.
The silence was interrupted by the person who had started it. "Yoongi?"
Yoongi shook his head quickly and ended up drying his hands before picking his phone from Jimin's hands and walking out of the kitchen without saying anything.
After thirty minutes, Yoongi finally made an appearance. The conversation between him and his brother must have been pretty interesting. Jimin was curious but he would never want to overstep that line and invade his hyung's privacy. Therefore, he stayed in the kitchen, preparing the rest of the Bulgogi. He was heating a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a cast-iron grill pan.
When he heard the kitchen's door open slowly, he turned around and locked eyes with Yoongi. His eyes followed his hyung's movement who proceeded to sit on a chair and sigh deeply.
"Are you ok, hyung?" Jimin asked, returning to his position to continue the food. The black-haired male sighed one last time before getting up. The sound of the chair scraping the floor echoed through the room.
"A good boy is continuing my cooking." He felt arms wrapping around his waist and a head falling on his shoulder. He stopped his cooking and giggled a little bit while patting his hyung's head.
"Now you're the one hugging me?" Yoongi hummed and tickled Jimin a little. The younger boy tried to get rid of his hyung by pushing his arms away; however, Yoongi resisted him and he wouldn't stop the tickling.
"Hyun-Hyung!" Jimin was laughing too loudly while Yoongi looked at him with fondness. "Stop, please!" Jimin begged but Yoongi showed no mercy.
He kept on tickling the pink-haired male until he turned around and their faces were close. A simple push and their mouths would touch.
Jimin couldn't stop himself and stared at his hyung's lip and fuck… they were thin but extremely attractive; however, they were prohibited. Jimin felt like Adam and the forbidden fruit. He wanted to taste those lips even if it were for a few seconds but he knew that consequences would come due to such action. He felt as if he was being tested by someone. Jimin was strong though.
They let go of each other and Jimin turned around rapidly, eyeing the pan while Yoongi coughed awkwardly.
He could sense Yoongi walking around the room and his body relaxed once he heard the sound of a chair move. He assumed Yoongi sat on it.
"Jiminie." The pink-haired boy hummed. "My brother called me because he needed help with something."
"What is it?" Jimin turned around to face Yoongi whose eyes were already fixed on him.
"It's my brother and his wife's 5th year of marriage on the 14th December. They want to go out and spend the whole weekend and next week away, so they were asking me to take care of their son. I would totally say ok because I love little Myunnie a lot but… this is your house, not mine."
Jimin smiled weakly at his hyung. He got closer to him and placed his hands on his shoulders while staring at him deeply. Jimin's eyes were shining with kindness and fondness. "Hyung, I don't really mind. I remember your nephew. He is the cutest." Jimin giggled a little bit at the end.
He felt Yoongi's shoulders relaxed by his reply and it made Jimin feel peaceful as well.
"What about the date for your book?" Yoongi asked and looked at Jimin whose cheeks heated up due to the mention of the date. His hands left his hyung's shoulder to scratch the back of his neck. He hadn't thought about that. Luckily:
"It is actually good, Hyung," Jimin mumbled embarrassingly. "The protagonist's lover is a single parent. So, having a kid with us will set the feeling for it even better."
Yoongi chuckled and rubbed his hand on Jimin's arm. "Then, you will be the main character and I'll be your lover with a son."
Fuck . If only Yoongi knew.
"Uncle Yoonie!" As soon as Yoongi opened the front door of the apartment, a kid entered the house quickly and squeezed Yoongi's leg.
"Hi, Myunnie." Yoongi reached down to pick up the kid while glowing at him tenderly. Jimin felt serene happiness spread through him by watching such a profound scene. He knew Yoongi loved his nephew a lot.
"Hi, Yoongi. Jimin." GeumJae greeted them while bowing and Jimin mirrored his action. "Thank you for accepting taking care of Myungbae."
"It is really no problem." Jimin smiled warmly. "It wouldn't be the first Yoongi and I took care of Myunnie. He loves me. Right, Myunnie?" Jimin pinched the child's nose, making him let out one of the biggest smiles and giggle.
"I love Uncle Jiminie!" Myung exclaimed cheerfully, letting go of Yoongi's embrace and extending his arms in Jimin's direction. Myung was asking Jimin to pick him up.
Yoongi pouted but let the pink-haired male pick up his nephew. "You like Jimin more than me?” Yoongi whined in fake distress, teasing his nephew as he tickled the child. He started laughing loudly, begging cutely for his uncle to stop.
"Me like Uncle Yoonie ay lot too!" Myung said when Yoongi stopped the tickling. Yoongi nodded and smooched his nephew's cute small nose.
"Good." Jimin giggled at his hyung's behaviour. Yoongi with kids was really something else and he was fortunate to experience this part of him.
"Well," Geumjae started talking with a warm smile on his face. "I guess you don't need my help here. I'll be back in one week." He walked towards his son, kissed his forehead slowly and mumbled some parenting-words to which Myung nodded his head obediently.
‘What a good boy!’ Jimin thought to himself, a longing feeling growing in his chest.
"Say goodbye to Dada." Jimin murmured and Myung did as he was told and waved at his dad in the cutest way possible.
These next few days were going to be amusing!
The day of the date arrived very promptly and Jimin had never felt so impatient.
To be precise, the date wasn't even a date because Jimin couldn't ask Yoongi out properly. He was a whole clown. At least, he would be spending some quality time outside of the house with Yoongi and Myung.
"Hyung, are you ready?" Jimin asked while he was putting the shoes on Myung. Myung's hands were pressing against Jimin's shoulder, trying to balance himself while Jimin was carefully putting his small feet in the shoes. He felt like a dad and it was such a nice feeling.
"I am doing Myung's lunchbox." Yoongi answered from the kitchen. His voice echoing down the hall to Jimin.
When Yoongi appeared in the hall with a small lunch box, Jimin raised his brow, confused.
"Why?"
"If Myunnie gets hungry, I will have food with me." He replied while picking up the jacket from the coat rack and dressing it.
"I can just buy something, hyung." Jimin acknowledged. He helped Myung dress up his fluffy coat as it would be very frigid outside.
"Myung is very picky with food." Yoongi retorted and Myung's face brightened up by the mention of his name and food together.
"I like food!" The little kid exclaimed cheerily while raising his tiny arms. Jimin giggled and tried to close the last button of the child's coat while he was happily jumping.
"Ok, then. Let's go to the restaurant!" Jimin announced and picked up his phone placed on the cupboard, shoving it in his pocket. Before he could open the door to leave the house, Yoongi stopped Jimin and pointed at his coat on the coat rack.
"Take it. It is cold." Yoongi said but Jimin whined a little bit. Yoongi rolled his eyes, picked up the jacket and dressed Jimin carefully.
Jimin was surprised due to his hyung's effort; nonetheless, he let himself enjoy the moment. Feeling Yoongi's hand touching him innocently and that touch being replaced with the fabric of the coat. He preferred Yoongi's hand a lot more. They were cozy and special.
"If someone saw this scene, they would ask who the actual baby is." Yoongi whispered teasingly. Jimin just picked up his scarf and tried to cover his ruddy cheeks with it.
The journey to the restaurant was delightful. Yoongi insisted on driving and Jimin couldn't really say 'no' as he was very eager to keep on playing with little Myung.
However, Jimin was the one who had reserved the restaurant and when they arrived at it, Yoongi was so surprised that his eyes broadened just by contemplating the entrance of the building.
"That is no restaurant, Jiminie." Yoongi mumbled while he tried to maintain focus on the actual road, but it was a bit too hard due to the beautiful light-decorations the facility had. "That's a fuck-,"
"Language." Jimin warned him but Yoongi disobeyed him as he was astonished.
"-ing palace." Yoongi ended his sentence and Jimin simply sighed loudly. "This restaurant must be expensive as fuck."
"Park there." Jimin signalled at an empty space in the private park of the restaurant. Yoongi fulfilled his best friend's instruction.
Once the car stopped, they got out and Jimin opened the back door, taking Myung out of his seat. When he unlocked Myung's seat belt and picked him up, Yoongi was behind him which startled him a little bit.
"Woah!" Yoongi settled his hand on Jimin's waist, assisting him in gaining his balance in order to not fall on the ground with Myung in his embrace. "I just need to pick up the lunch box." Yoongi chuckled and Jimin lowered his face, hiding his blushing cheeks. Fortunately, it was dark; therefore, Yoongi couldn't see much of Jimin's face.
They commenced walking towards the main entrance when Yoongi brought his statement about the restaurant back. "Isn't it too costly here, Jiminie?"
"It's an outstanding restaurant." Jimin replied softly.
"My food is way better." The black-haired male mumbled in a grumpy tone and Jimin just giggled. Myung started clapping and laughing at his uncle's funny face.
"Uncle yoonie's foodie is da best." The baby exclaimed while bouncing in Jimin's arms. Jimin smiled at him and pushed his hair back so it wouldn't fall on the little boy's vision.
"Let me guess, the main character from your book is also rich." He looked at Jimin while smirking, but the young boy just tossed his eyes back at his remark.
"No, but I am. I want to take my best pal and Myunnie to have a decent and fancy dinner." Jimin replied while his pouting intensified each time he spoke. Myung touched Jimin's pout while laughing and Yoongi chuckled at the scene.
"Ok then." The older male murmured before they reached the central desk in the main hall.
Jimin gave their name to the receptionist, who begged for an autograph, and then one of the waitresses led them to their table in a private area.
When they were seated, the young woman brought the menu and cooed at Myung who giggled due to the attention given to him.
"Your son is so cute. He has your nose, Min Yoongi-ssi. Were you the sperm donor?" The waitress asked out of nowhere, startling both adults at the table. They were both looking at the woman who was still cooing and making funny faces at Myung. Little Myung seemed to adore her instantly. When the woman locked eyes with both boys and saw their stunned expressions, she giggled uncomfortably. "I am sorry. I guess that’s too personal. I am pleased for you, Park Jimin-ssi. As your fan, I am happy to see that you found your true lover."
The stillness from the two adults continued afterward, making the waitress feel more ashamed. Luckily… or not, Yoongi spoke and helped Jimin recover from the shock to his brain.
"Thank you. We will take a look at the menu now." Yoongi muttered politely and the young woman bowed, abandoning the room.
Yoongi picked up the menu and started reading the food option out loud. However, Jimin could not concentrate on his voice after what had just happened. His face was warming up so his cheeks were certainly tinged in a rosy tone. He could see Yoongi's mouth moving, his glamorous hands on the table with the attractive fingers pointing at the options but his mind was in a void. No sound entered his ears.
"Jimin." Yoongi waved his hands, trying to get the young boy's attention. "Are you listening?"
Jimin shook his head and let out a smile that reflected his humiliation very well. Yoongi just laughed while Jimin was throwing him a vague look.
"Hyung!" Jimin groaned, crossing his arm and letting his back drop on the back of the fancy black chair. "That was so embarrassing!"
"It was." Yoongi acknowledged chuckling and scratching the back of his neck. "But now you have something for your book."
"Are we going two da city centre?" Myung asked when Jimin unlocked his seat belt for the second time that evening.
Yoongi hummed from the other side of the vehicle, picking up the lunch box and Jimin's coat. Myung grinned due to the enthusiasm and threw himself to Jimin's embrace. It was simpler to pick him up.
"Yes, we are, Myunnie. But first, we need to dress you in your coat!" Jimin mumbled and tried to put the coat on Myung but he rejected it, crossing his arms. "Myun-,"
"Let me do it." Yoongi interrupted Jimin and gave the pink-haired boy his coat before kneeling to match his nephew's height. Jimin let Yoongi take care of Myung and dressed a piece of clothes Yoongi had given him.
He was gazing at Yoongi with the child and he felt his heart warming up due to the heartfelt scenario. Despite Myung's stubborn attitude, Yoongi was neither raising his voice nor being harsh with the little kid. He was chatting with him calmly and Jimin couldn't stop smiling.
Yoongi was outstanding.
After a few minutes, Myung gave in and dressed his coat with the help of his uncle. The black-haired male picked Myungbae up and arranged his hair while in a standing posture because his legs were already exhausted from being on the ground.
Jimin noticed how his hyung was struggling while trying to brush Myung's hair with his fingers. Therefore, he walked towards them and rearranged the hair. He pushed Myung's hair back and put a little cute hairpin that he had in his purse.
"So cute!" Yoongi murmured, cooing at the baby whose smile turned the brightest due to the praise. "Jiminie. Can you get my camera? I feel like I'll take some photos tonight."
Jimin hummed, went inside the car and crawled through the backseats until he found Yoongi's camera, hiding in a small handbag. Once Jimin got the camera, Yoongi locked the car and they started walking towards the centre of the city.
They walked a lot. Yoongi took some pictures of Jimin and Myung having fun. Myung insisted on holding both of their hands while being in the middle of the two adults and Jimin felt his heart pumping hastily against his chest. The overwhelming situation was making Jimin feel as if he were on cloud nine.
He truly wished those feelings were mutual and for those scenarios to become true in the future with the same importance as family.
Nevertheless, all Jimin could do was dream and write about it. He did it fully knowing that nothing would ever become of those dreams.
They sat down on a bench in the park because Myung was already half asleep. His chin was resting on Yoongi's shoulder and he was drooling cutely. The two boys were speaking with each other quietly, trying not to wake up little Myung. Jimin was scrolling through the photos from that day and laughing at his pathetic faces while Yoongi smiled with affection at him. His action was stopped by Yoongi who touched his arm claiming to have an idea.
"Hold Myunnie. I need to take a picture." Jimin put the camera on his side and tried to hold Myungbae without waking him up. The toddler made a cute sound, probably comprehending unconsciously what was happening, but he kept on sleeping deeply.
Yoongi picked up the camera, positioned himself in the best place and told Jimin just to loosen up and Jimin did so. There was something extraordinary about Yoongi whenever he took pictures of him. Jimin never felt uneasy. Maybe it was the praising and the confronting words that Yoongi would say. Either way, Jimin felt at heaven.
"Two angels in one frame." Yoongi mumbled as he took the last picture. "Perfect!"
Jimin reddened at the compliments and murmured a small 'thank you' which probably went unnoticed by Yoongi.
The black-haired male walked towards them and showed Jimin the pictures he had just taken and Jimin was simply in awe. Every photo felt so naive yet so accurate. Jimin was really in love with the emotions the photo was providing.
"You look really gorgeous. You would be an amazing dad." Yoongi said softly and sat down next to Jimin. The pink-haired male chuckled quietly while he covered his mouth with his free hand.
"You would be an amazing dad as well, Yoongi hyung." Jimin answered back.
There was no answer. However, the silence wasn't uncomfortable this time. He leaned his head to his right and positioned it on his hyung's shoulder. He was feeling very sleepy and his eyes were almost giving up on him, closing gradually each second that passed.
It didn't help much when Yoongi started stroking his hair without saying anything. It felt too pleasant.
Jimin fell asleep and he dreamt of Yoongi. He dreamt heartily and with no desire to wake up. Even in his sleep, he could feel Yoongi's smooth touch and he loved it a little bit too much.
"Jiminie." Yoongi called his best friend who was sitting on the living room's table. He was very focused on his writing yet his hyung was too important to be ignored. "Come here. Look."
Jimin got up and walked towards the couch where Yoongi was sitting with Myung on his lap. Jimin loved the view. It was so domestic yet not unfamiliar. A part of Jimin wanted it in the future yet the unknown step he would have to take was still frightening to him.
"What is it, hyung?" Jimin sat beside Yoongi. The older boy showed him the phone and clicked on one of the pictures. A picture of Jimin from the day of their date.
"It has so many likes and so many people praising your looks. You're my best model." Yoongi chuckled and Jimin felt his face heating up.
"Can I read comments, pwease?" Myung asked cutely while his puppy eyes were activated. Neither of them could say no to cute Myungbae and his request was not harmful. So why not?
Yoongi opened the comment section without much thought and gave the phone to five-year-old Myung who scrolled unconsciously through it until he stopped randomly. Yoongi and Jimin had the most heartwarming smile while looking at the child.
"Yoongi-ssi pho...tograph?" Myung read it with uncertainty and looked at the boys for confirmation. Jimin nodded and he smiled, returning to his reading. "Park Jimin like he is in love. Con-gwad-u-lashing to the… coo... coouple? What is coouple?"
Yoongi and Jimin were shocked. Neither of them was moving. Myung looked at them and tilted his head due to his confusion at that moment. He tapped his uncle and begged for attention to which Yoongi shook his head slightly and hummed, affirming his attention.
"Couple is… like your mama and dada. Two people in love and deep affection for each other." Yoongi mumbled, avoiding eye-contact with Jimin.
"Is uncle Yoongi in love with uncle Jimin?"
No one answered. The room was silent. Little Myung kept looking in between the two boys waiting for an answer but neither of them was brave enough to give him a response.
Jimin got up, avoiding eye-contact with Yoongi and ruffled the child's hair. Myung smiled, melting into the touch; reminding Jimin of a little kitten. Min Myungbae looked a lot like his uncle.
"I will start cooking something for dinner. Do you want Jajangmyeon?" Jimin asked excitedly, trying to distract the young child. Myung nodded his head eagerly and Jimin chuckled.
As soon as Jimin left the room, Yoongi looked at Myung who had been waving at him, calling for his uncle.
"Uncle Jimin didn't turn off the computer! We need to save the story!" Myung said and jumped to the ground, running towards the big table in the living room. Yoongi giggled at his nephew’s behaviour.
The black-haired male walked towards the computer, to save the files; however, he stopped himself when he accidentally read a few words.
'Jimin knew it was dangerous to be in love with a man that would never feel the same empathy towards him. Yoongi already had a kid. He was happy. Why would he need a new addition to his little family?'
Fuck… Why was Jimin writing with their names?
Yoongi became very quiet after the accident and Jimin was worried. He had spent most of the past three days in the studio and would only come out to eat.
Myung didn't want to be around his uncle; therefore, he spent the majority of those days with Jimin. Jimin didn't mind it. He loved Myung and he needed a break from writing.
He taught Myung new words that could help improve his vocabulary and the young kid was very excited about it. Jimin knew how intelligent Myung was but everyone from the Min family seemed to be very intellectual.
"Uncle Jiminie." Myung tapped Jimin's thigh, trying to get the boy's attention. Jimin looked down to his right to gaze at the boy. He picked him up and sat him on his lap while he was caressing the young boy's hair full of affection. "I think Uncle Yoonie is sad. I don't like sad."
Jimin gazed at the ceiling and sighed deeply. Myung hugged Jimin tightly while Jimin was still caressing his hair.
"Uncle Jiminie cares about uncle Yoonie a lot?" Myung asked, still hugging him. Jimin smiled weakly, his heart thumping due to the question. He loved Yoongi. He loved him so much he hated seeing him sad.
"I do, Myunnie."
When Jimin woke up the following day, he felt like the house was too empty. He got up from the bed quickly and went to Yoongi's room. It was empty.
He walked around the house, trying to find his hyung and Myung. As soon as he reached the living room, there was a note on the table. Jimin ran towards it and picked up hurriedly. His eyes scanned through it as anxiety spread through his body. Yoongi had left earlier to go to Namjoon hyung's house and he had taken Myung. Yoongi had specified in the note that he would stay some days with Namjoon hyung. However, no reason was written.

He knew his friends were trying their best to help Jimin feel better. However, his mind was still too tired from overthinking. He laid on the couch, rearranged the pillows and covered himself with the blanket. Jimin closed his eyes and tried to take a nap.
A part of him regretted it. He regretted being in a friendship with the person he loved for eight years and not doing anything about it. He was afraid he would lose his opportunity.
Yoongi was always the kindest to Jimin. Even if he didn't like him back, he knew that his hyung would never hurt him. He would take those feelings into consideration and try to help him. He knew that his hyung would actually feel bad for Jimin. Yoongi was too kind. Too beautiful. Too human.
He regretted his choice. It has been some hours since Yoongi left the note with no further explanation. Jimin was afraid he had done something to make Yoongi walk away; he regretted being his friend. Jimin's fears were starting to become true. He hated it.
A loud sound of a door closing echoed through Jimin's apartment, waking him up. Jimin opened his eyes quickly as his heart was pumping rapidly. Was a stranger breaking into his house?
His mind was thinking of many possible scenarios; however, the images were gone once he heard someone mumbling 'shit' and a child's giggling.
Jimin had never gotten up so quickly from the couch in his whole life but at that moment, everything felt as if it depended on it. He ran towards the main and saw Yoongi holding Myung.
Jimin stared at Yoongi for a few seconds, just analysing him. Was he dreaming? The black-haired male smiled embarrassingly before putting Myung on the floor.
"Go to the living room, Myunnie." Yoongi said in a soft tone and his nephew did as he was told. Once they were left alone, neither of them spoke for a few seconds. Yoongi broke the silence with a simple yet heartfelt, "Hi."
Jimin ran to him and hugged him. Tears falling from his eyes, wetting Yoongi's shirt. When he felt Yoongi's hand on his hair, Jimin broke down even more. It had been four days since he last felt his touch completely since he felt the love from his hyung. He missed Yoongi.
"Ji-," Yoongi tried to speak but Jimin just grabbed his shirt harder.
"Hyung. Min Yoongi. Don't." Yoongi stayed in the same position, hearing the pink-haired male crying silently before putting his arms around his small waist and bringing him closer. "Don't you EVER disappear like you did today… especially after ignoring me for three days, hyung. My heart cannot handle it."
Yoongi bit his lips and rubbed Jimin's back lovingly. "I am sorry, Jiminie."
"I can't lose you." He said quietly, still hugging his hyung. Fortunately, the tears had stopped falling from his eyes. Jimin's head was still on Yoongi's shoulder, enjoying the position and comfort given by the older. "Not you, hyung."
"You won't." Yoongi replied softly. Jimin let go of Yoongi to look at him. He started right into Yoongi's pretty and deep eyes. The way Yoongi was gazing at Jimin felt more open. It felt as if he was no longer afraid to express his feelings towards the younger boy.
Jimin felt love.
"I am sorry I ran away. I was a coward." Jimin opened his mouth to speak up but Yoongi shook his head, stopping Jimin from talking. "I saw your drafts. The ones that have our names. I was scared because I didn't understand what it could mean. I went to Namjoon for help when I should have talked to you like grownups. Like best friends…"
"I am so embarrassed." Jimin covered his face with his tiny hands. Yoongi took his hands away from his beautiful face carefully and then used that moment to intertwine their fingers. It felt perfect. Their fingers intertwined so flawlessly as if they were meant to hold each other. "I am so weir-"
"You're not. I find it endearing how you write about… us. I knew Our life in Paper was familiar." He laughed and Jimin just wanted to bury himself in the deepest hole. He shouldn't have been surprised that his hyung had read one of his books… especially the most popular.
"Hyung. I am sorry. I just… I really like you." Jimin mumbled quietly with his face bright red. A part of him felt shocked from an immediate confession but due to such circumstances, it just felt… right. It felt like the best moment to let it all out. "I don't wan-,"
"Good."
"What?"
"I like yo-, no." He shook his head. "I love you a lot, Park Jimin."
"Hyung!" Jimin whined once again, burying his face in hyung's chest while also punching him carefully. "My heart will fall from my chest."
"And I'll catch it." Yoongi replied, hugging him back; holding him so tightly. He never wanted to let go.
But they eventually did let go of each other; however, gazing deeply into each other's eyes.
"Can I kiss you?" Yoongi asked and Jimin nodded happily.
Jimin was actually the one to lean forward first. He put his arms around Yoongi's shoulders, hands pressed on his head, grabbing his hair while pulling him closer. Yoongi's hands were on his back, arms around his waist, pressing him against his body. The kiss was simple. Only their lips touching and tasting each other sweetly, no one moving. However, Jimin had never felt so much love in his life.
"I love you too, hyung." He mumbled softly when they broke the kiss. Yoongi grabbed Jimin's face tenderly and placed one last kiss on his forehead.
A sign of love and respect. Jimin felt on cloud nine.
The moment seemed to break off as soon as Myung giggled and put himself in the middle of Yoongi and Jimin, separating the two boys. They stared at the young boy, at that moment between them, with a confused expression. When did Myung get back into the main hall? He was supposed to be in the living room.
"Dada says it is not good to kith on here," He pointed at his lips. "when Myunnie is here."
They stayed in silence, looking at Myung before laughing out loud. Myung was the cutest kid.
Yoongi ruffled his hair before mumbling:
"We won't do it anymore, right Jiminie?" Jimin was startled due to such an unexpected question.
"Wh-." Jimin wanted to say something but his words were interrupted by his hyung.
"At least, while Myunnie is here." Jimin's face became a whole blushing mess, thus he just hid his face in his hyung's chest while Yoongi smirked at his perfect attempt at flirting.
Maybe Park Jimin was too in love with Min Yoongi.
April 2027
"Jimin! It’s about to start!" Jimin ran from the kitchen when he heard Jin calling for him. It was Yoongi's first interview on national television. After his successful work at JinPhoto Labels and his beautiful Instagram feed, which was mostly photos of Jimin, Yoongi had become a busy man. Yoongi and he stayed in Jimin's house, living as a couple; however, bills were mostly split between the two.
He was happy.
Jimin wanted to go with Yoongi to his interview; however, Yoongi had declined each time he tried. Therefore, he invited all his friends to watch it from their home.
Taehyung and Jeongguk had gotten married last month and they were still in their honeymoon faze. The touchy newlyweds were as annoying as ever, sitting together on the couch sharing the blanket and with their fingers intertwined.
Hoseok, Jin and Namjoon were dating each other. They had a complicated start but fortunately, everything had settled down and they had the most marvelous relationship Jimin had ever seen. The throuple was sitting on the biggest couch. Jin's head was on Namjoon's lap while Hoseok's head rested on Namjoon's shoulder. What a lovely view.
Jimin sat in between the couples and turned up the volume of the television once Yoongi appeared. He felt like his heart was gonna explode from seeing his lover being so happy at such a place.
He had never felt so proud.
The interview went smoothly and Yoongi's answers were so clever and well-said. Jimin was smiling and laughing at it until…
"Last question, Min Yoongi-ssi." The lady looked at the card and smirked. "Why do you photograph Park Jimin so much?"
Jimin's eyes widened. His name was just referred to in the middle of Yoongi's interview. What was Yoongi going to do? What was he going to say? What if it affected Yoongi's i-
"Well," Yoongi smiling was full of fondness. His friends were all giggling beside him and Jimin's cheeks were heating up. "Love for me is expressed through my photography. I photograph what I love and Park Jimin is the love of my life."
Loud laughs filled the room and Jimin just wanted to hide. Yoongi's words were beautiful and he was truly lucky to have him.
Park Jimin was thankful to be loved by Min Yoongi as much as Park Jimin loved Min Yoongi.
