A chill air crept through the window, causing Shen Qingqiu to pull the robe over him tighter. He smiled, looking back at Binghe across from the table where they were having tea.
“It seems like it's getting colder out there now.” His eyes crinkled at the edges, his smile natural, no longer aiming to appear like an aloof immortal, the smile was ten times more sincere.
Luo Binghe couldn’t help but smile back, even if his own was slightly insincere. “Yes Shizun, it will probably snow soon. Would you like to see it?”
His Shizun laughed, the sound a soothing melody to his disciples ears, the sight of his teacher only raising his hands to his face instead of hiding behind one of his many fans a beautiful sight.
“It’s quite alright Binghe, I’ve never been too fond of the cold. I do hope you enjoy it however. Freshly fallen snow can create such a beautiful landscape, but I suppose if you wanted snow you could visit Mobei Jun’s lair hmm?”
He couldn’t resist the chuckle that escaped him, “Shizun if anyone went there they would leave not wanting to see snow ever again.”
With a snort his teacher crossed his arms in front of him, something new he had started to do after relaxing in front of his disciple, “Well that certainly never stopped Shang Qinghua, how is he doing? Will he visit soon?”
His eyebrow twitched at the mention of the mousy man, no matter how much the two would squabble when he was over his Shizun would always look forward to his company. “Shang-shishu is. . .well.”
“Postponed again?”
He responded with a nod , “Mobei Jun isn’t very happy, but he will not deny Shang-shishu what he desires.”
“Ah.” His Shizun sighed, hands coming together to rub circles on his joints, another new habit he was beginning to let slip through. “I told him not to wait on me last time, fools never listen do they?”
He couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped him. “I’ll run it by him again, or I'll make sure he takes the time to come by to visit again.”
Shen QIngqiu covered his mouth, hiding the yawn that escaped him before speaking. “I’d appreciate that Binghe.”
“You should sleep Shizun, you’re tired.”
“This old man is always sleeping! I wish we could talk longer Binghe, I hope next time you can tell me more.” He complained, but didn’t resist as Binghe helped him to his feet, bringing him over to his bed. He helped him undress before tucking him into the covers.
He placed a tender kiss on his forehead, causing the other to huff and pull him back down to place a tender kiss on his lips before letting go.
“Goodnight Shizun.”
Binghe opened his eyes, looking down at his hands that held a smaller, thin hand. He looked back up to his husband's face, eyes shut in peaceful slumber.
He’d sit there again, waiting for a day that may not come.
