A Summer Night's Sweetness

Summary:

Win and Team are whipped for each other, basically.

Work Text:

Win buried his nose into the soft mop of hair below his chin, inhaling deeply.

It smelled warm and sweet, like soap and nighttime, filling him up to the brim with contentment.

A cool breeze blew through the window, stirring the curtains and letting the quiet sound of crickets drift into the room. Glimmering slowly, bright stars started to dot the sky, and an alluring darkness overtook the rosy evening light.

Win’s chest felt so full that he thought it would burst. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he could find a life like this, filled with affection and happiness, teasing glances and blushes. Filled with a burning sort of love that crept slowly through his veins, heat that left him gasping and dizzy at just how much he loved this boy.

Win is -he used to be- the sort of person that slept around, who didn’t really care about other people and their feelings. He was utterly loyal to his friends, but he was rebellious and sometimes even cocky, trying to push people over the edge so he could find his own place in the world.

Win knew who he was before he met this boy. But one look at him left him reeling, off-center, as he tried to comprehend how utterly beautiful this person was.

Pale skin and dark, soft, sweet-smelling hair. Bright eyes and a smile that tugged at his heart, pulling at it until he had no choice but to give it away. Strong arms that arced gracefully through water, slipping through the blue with ease. A face adorned with water droplets, shining in the sunlight like jewels.

Win knew he was doomed the moment he saw Team.

“Hia?” A quiet, sleep-slurred voice asked. Team looked up at him, dark brown eyes blinking awake.

“Hmm?” Win stroked the hair away from Team's forehead, relishing in the softness as the other boy wiggled deeper into his arms.

“The dreams… they didn’t come tonight.” Team murmured, still half-asleep. Deep blue depths, numbing cold, suffocating, crying and reaching, grasping for anything that could hold weight… it was all gone in his Hia’s arms. Team’s heart ached, bleeding, dripping with love and gratitude.

The arms around him tightened gently, and Win kissed his temple. Warm, sturdy, but yet so, so soft.

Team smiled, a sigh escaping as he breathed in the warm summer night air.

“Kop khun na, Hia… you stop me from drowning.”
