Chapter Text
Once upon a time, in a faraway land stood a tiny kingdom, peaceful and rich in romance. In this small kingdom stood a lovely chateau that housed a small family of two.
The small family consisted of a kindly woman named Inko who held the same gentle emerald eyes and vibrant green hair as her son. Her son Izuku, was a rather curious child who would play around with his mother all day outside and learn everything he could about the world around him.
The small family was happy as they were. They were not the richest family in the kingdom, but they had all the love and comfort they could ever want.
However, one day as Inko watched her son play around with some of his mice friends he made, how he communicated with them she would never truly know, and decided that it was time that her son finally had a father figure in his life. His father died from a strange illness when he was across the seas on a business endeavor. So, scrounging up the courage to find a new love for herself and someone to help guide her son, Inko went to work.
It wasn't long before the green-eyed maiden got herself tangled up with Mirai Sasaki, a wonderfully intelligent man who Inko thought would get along great with her son. He even had two children who were around Izuku's age named Denki and Katsuki. After a couple of times meeting each other, Mirai finally popped the question and the two were then married, Izuku gaining a new father figure and two brothers.
For a while, it was a happy ending for the two, now five-person family. But sadly, it was not meant to last. Izuku's mother passed away after a tragic carriage accident in the village square. Izuku was left alone without his dear mother and all the happy memories they made together. From playing in the garden to his mother telling him fairytales about how valiant princes saved princesses or the accomplishments of fairies that watched over those who needed them.
With Inko dead, Mirai took this as an opportunity to help his sons get ahead in life, leaving Izuku in the dust. Izuku's step-father didn't think much of him and thought that the smart boy wouldn't actually amount to anything. So he took to making Izuku doing all the chores and housework, making him sleep in the small attic, and tending to every one of his step-family's needs. Following along with their father's example, Denki and Katsuki treated Izuku horribly. For Katsuki, it was calling Izuku names like Deku, to make the smaller boy feel useless and belittling him any chance he got. For Denki, the boy was not the brightest and easily swayed so he just assumed Izuku liked doing all the housework, though he did try to help every once in a while, much to the annoyance of his father and brother.
Izuku was forced to become a servant in his own home and was humiliated, beaten down, and scrutinized. Yet through it all, his kind and hard-working spirit remained the same. But when Izuku would lie his head down in that rusty old attic, he dreamed of happier times with his mother and with hopes of a better future for himself. A future where he was free of all the heartache and pain his step-family brought him, and a future where he would possibly be able to have some love in his life once again.
