Work Text:

Tanjirou, sixteen, likes his teacher, Tomioka Giyuu-sensei.

He likes his somewhat messy hair. He's seen Giyuu used his hands as a comb to fix his hair, but it stayed the same.

He likes his eyes. They have a deep ocean blue color, which Tanjirou finds out that he lost in them many times.

He likes his voice. A low, warm voice that can make his face turns red whenever he hears it.

He likes his smile. Giyuu rarely expresses any emotions on his face, but Tanjirou's seen him smiled once. That time, they had lunch together and Tanjirou saw his smile when he opened his lunch box, and there were salmon cooks with radish.

He likes his hands. They're bigger than his, and usually hold a wooden sword to smack those students who violence the school rules. And he is a regular victim since he's wearing the momentum of his family, the hanafuda earrings. He doesn't mind, though.

He likes everything about Giyuu, he thinks. Students are not suppose to have a "lover" relationship with their teacher, Tanjirou knows, but what can he do?

Giyuu is Tanjirou's special someone in his life.

And in his past life, too.

About one year ago, Tanjirou started to have weird dreams. He fought some creatures called demons, he met a lot of wonderful people. He soon worked it out that it was of his past life, since he'd seen him with his family.

He was the big bro, always. One day he came home just to find his family had been killed, and his sister turned into a demon.

That dream haunted him everynight, he ended up crying so hard that he woke up in the middle of the nights.

But there was a man.

When Tanjirou was deeply desperated, he stepped in and saved Tanjirou. His words were the light, the hope that Tanjirou can grabbed on.

His name was Tomioka Giyuu.

In his dreams, Giyuu was not different from now; his face, his blue eyes, his messy hair,.. but his gaze towards Tanjirou.

It was the softest gaze Tanjirou had ever seen.

He and Giyuu loved each other, cherish each other. They holded hands, watched the moon, they even kissed.

Those kisses were so gentle, full of love. Giyuu would hug him, whispering: "I love you."

And Tanjirou would smile and did the same thing.

That day, Tanjirou woke up with tears streaming down his face.

The feeling was so real.

He missed Giyuu so bad.

Since then, there hasn't been a day passed without him missing Giyuu.

He imagines one day, he would met Giyuu again. Maybe at his family's bakery, at the wisteria tree near his house. Or maybe randomly come across each other on the street. Then, he would run to Giyuu and hold him tight. Like what he used to do in his past life.

But he couldn't find him anywhere. Or maybe he would never find him. Maybe he wasn't here, in his new life. He started to feel disappointed, but continued to find him anyway.

When the new school year started, he saw a lot of people who were in his dream entered this school.

There were demon slayers and demons. They get along pretty well in this school. He wondered why, but he felt happy. There were his best friends in his dreams too, like Zenitsu and Inosuke. He thought that it would be great to befriend with them again. "Do they have the memories of the past life like I do?", he thought. He found out that a lot of his friends were here, maybe there would be..

He saw a familiar figure.

He..

He's found Giyuu.

He somehow became the school's counselor, standing next to the school gate, holding a wooden sword, and his face was emotionless.

Just like what Tanjirou had dreamt of.

But his gaze was so cold.

Tanjirou was chased by him everyday because of the earrings, but actually he found it kinda fun. He don't remember him, it's fine. At least he got to see him everyday.

He thought it was enough.

But now, he..

He kinda wants to confess his feelings. Maybe it because that he missed the feeling of two holding hands, the feeling to fall asleep next to the one he loved?

In his past life, it was Giyuu who did the confess thing first. Then it's his turn now, right?

——————

Tomioka Giyuu, twenty-two, is chasing a student whose name is Kamado. His earrings are a violation of the school rules, so it must be confiscated.

Giyuu have some vivid memories from his past life, but he chooses to not dig down more, when the dreams showed him that he and Kamado had a "good" relationship.

Too good for a relationship between a teacher and a student.

Well, the relationship that only lovers can have.

He chases Kamado everyday, ignore the memories and..

His heart.

Why does it feel so..

His heart aches.

Giyuu doesn't know why, but he thinks he should pay a visit to a cardiologist some time.

Until, today, he is chasing Kamado down the hallway, and suddenly slips.

He loses his consciousness.

Giyuu sleeps for a whole morning.

In the dream, he saw him, another version of him, wearing his half-half haori, held his blue sword towards..

Kamado.

The scene changed, and he found himself at a mountain. He was protecting the boy and his sister, before the girl with a butterfly on her head can touch them with her sword.

He was the Water pillar, who was hated due to the girl's words. Giyuu lost in his thought, until he found his heart ached.

Another Giyuu was there, holding Kamad-now was Tanjirou's hand, smiled sheepishly. Tanjirou stood beside him, call him "Giyuu-san" with a cheerful smile.

He wondered why, why he was crying at the scene.

Did he miss something? Something is very important to him.

And his dream was not gonna stop. He found himself was at a battleground, with..

With Tanjirou was sitting still, and another Giyuu was holding his right hand, crying, whispering the word sorry again and again. He lost his right hand too, but he didn't mind.

Giyuu felt his face was wet. Again. But he know the reason this time.

He remembered it. Tanjirou was his important someone, someone he had wished to met in his after life. Someone brought spring to his winter soul, someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Someone he had wished to meet again in his after life.

He wakes up.

His face is still wet with tears. His right arm is still here, and..

Tanjirou. He falls asleep, still holding his hand.

Giyuu remembers what was in the dream, decided to wipe his tears first by his left arm, and then rubs the boy's head.

"Kamado.." He doesn't realises that his voice was softer and more gentle than usual. "Hey, wake up.."

"Giyuu- Ah, Tomioka-sensei.. You're awake.. Sorry I'd felt asleep.."

The boy rubs his eyes, and his voice still sounds sleepy.

"..Why am I here?"

"Uh.. You were chasing me and I suddenly heard a loud noise. I turned back and saw you were unconscious, so I brought you here.." The boy doesn't realises that he is still holding Giyuu's hand.

"Ah.. I see.." Giyuu wonders should he tell Tanjirou what he saw in his dream, but he decides to stay quiet. But he still wants to be with Tanjirou in this life too. Maybe someday he will tell Tanjirou about it.

"My hand.."

"AH, MY BAD. I'M SORRY TOMIOKA-SENSEI, I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU AND.. UH.." Tanjirou panics and lets Giyuu's hand go.

"It's ok." Giyuu says.

They continues to stay quiet for a while. When Tanjirou decides to say something to break the silence, he hears Giyuu's voice.

"Can I call you Tanjirou?" Giyuu looks at him with his emotionless face.

"Huh..?" Tanjirou surprises, his ruby eyes meet with Giyuu's blue eyes. He notices that the man's gaze is more gentle, and somehow there is a little bit of.. love in it?

"I can't then. Sorr-" After waiting for a long time, Giyuu feels a little bit lost.

"N.. No. You can. Of course.." Tanjirou mumbles, his face turns red.

"Tanjirou.."

"Ye..YES" Tanjirou startles from hearing his name, which he has been waiting for so long to hear it from Giyuu's mouth.

"You may go back to your class now, I'm fine."

"But.. I want to stay here a little longer. I'm sure Uzui-sensei won't mind.. He's the one who told me to stay by your side.." He stops for a moment, "..and I have something to tell you too."

"Go on."

Tanjirou draws the curtain around Giyuu's bed, breathes in, starts talking. He tells Giyuu everything about the dreams he had. It is a long story, and Giyuu realises, his story is similar to his dream.

"Tanjirou, wait.." He interrupts and puts a hand on Tanjirou's cheek, "You're crying."

"Huh?" Tanjirou looks at him, his tears keep falling down.

"Do the memories about me bring you pain?" Giyuu asks. Tanjirou quickly shakes his head.

"No. Not at all. I.. I just miss you." Tanjirou wipes his tears, holds Giyuu's hand with both hands "I like you, whether in the past life or this life. It's okay if you can't remember me or requite my love, just please don't disappear.. I have found you for a long time, and when I saw you here, I was so happy.."

Giyuu looks at Tanjirou, decides to pull him into a hug.

"Tomioka-sensei.." Tanjirou sobs, his hands hold Giyuu's shirt tightly.

Giyuu rubs his back, his chin leans on Tanjirou's head. He waits until the boy in his chest is calm, says.

"I also have the memories of my past life. I like you too, Tanjirou. Sorry for making you wait."

Tanjirou pushes himself out of Giyuu's hug, looks at the man. He is smiling, rubbing Tanjirou's hair, and his other hand carefully caresses Tanjirou's face.

"You.. You too, Tomioka-san?" Tanjirou opens his eyes wide, looks at the man.

"Call me Giyuu. And yeah, recently, when I was sleeping."

"I'm glad, Giyuu-san. Thank you." Tanjirou puts his arm around Giyuu's neck, buries his face into Giyuu's shoulder. Giyuu kisses his hair, hugs him tight.

—————

Tanjirou is twenty now. Recently, he has moved in Giyuu's house to live with him. It's kinda late now, they're lying on the sofa. To be exactly, Giyuu is lying on the sofa and Tanjirou is lying above him. They're watching a movie.

"Giyuu-san." Giyuu had told him to just call him Giyuu, but Tanjirou insisted on saying this way. He said that he liked this.

"Hmm?" Giyuu replies, his arms still put around Tanjirou's back. "What's wrong?"

"I love you." Tanjirou pouts, his chin rests on Giyuu's chest.

"Suddenly?" Giyuu laughs, his hand caresses Tanjirou's hair, "Mmm, I love you too." Then, he leans forward and kisses Tanjirou. He can taste the sweetness, probably because he had had a candy before.

After a while, he has the feeling of his shirt being unbuttoned.

"Hmm?" Giyuu stops Tanjirou's hand. His eyes looks at Tanjirou's red cheeks while Tanjirou's lips are still on his.

Tanjirou stops, licks his saliva on Giyuu's lips, whispers: "We don't have to work tomorrow.. Can we.." Tanjirou moves his arm down to Giyuu's waist, bites his lower lip.

"..You ask for it. Do not scold me tomorrow for this." Giyuu shifts their position, so he can top Tanjirou. He looks at Tanjirou with a dangerous gaze, his hands keep Tanjirou's hands above his head.

He receives a kiss in return.

This is going to be a long night.

Notes:

Omake 1:
The truth is Uzui has the memories of his past life. So he thinks it would be a good idea to make Giyuu and Tanjirou a couple again. They were so sweet.

Omake 2:
Tanjirou often kisses Giyuu in school and then runs.

Omake 3:
The next morning.

Tanjirou wakes up facing Giyuu's bare chest. The first sentence that Tanjirou hears is:

"Tanjirou..Can I.. Another round?"

Well, he can't think much.
