For a long time, Yoongi had always been the type to not believe in fairies. To him, they were nothing more than fictional creatures of stories that were made up for the entertainment of young children with big imaginations. Yoongi would sometimes wish that he had those young children's imaginations. He thought that maybe it would help him finish the story he was working on.
He had come across a part in his story where he just wasn't sure how to continue it. Yoongi had rewritten the part causing this problem several times already, and every time he did, he would delete it. It just wasn't clicking with the rest of the story the way he wanted it to, no matter how hard he tried.
At least, that was the case before Hoseok showed up.
Hoseok, or Prince Hoseok as the younger had introduced himself when they had first met, was a fairy. Yes, you've read that correctly. Hoseok was the very thing Yoongi had always deemed to be not real.
Yoongi had met the tiny fairy at the park.
He had gone for a walk to clear his head and hopefully get some sort of idea on how to continue his story when he heard something that sounded like screaming. He had kept walking the first time thinking it was the wind he had heard. There was no one else at the park to be the person that screamed.
After the second and third time however, he decided he should try and figure out what was the source of the screaming. The wind wasn't blowing as hard as before so he figured it couldn't be that. His only option to find out what was the source of the noise was to try and follow where it was coming from.
He stood and tried his best to see if the scream would come again. He stayed in his spot for a few minutes until he heard the screaming again, and this time it was a bit louder.
Yoongi quickly turned around to try and follow the screaming but just as he did that, a small fly-like creature slammed right into his forehead.
"Argh. Stupid fly." Yoongi exclaimed waving his hand around to try and get the bug away. He quickly stopped though as the 'fly' started speaking. And he realized that the 'fly' wasn't actually a fly but a tiny flying human.
It was a fairy.
"You're mistaken, sir. I'm not a fly, I'm Hoseok! Prince Hoseok of the Summer Fairies." The tiny fairy said smiling proudly before his smile faltered slightly. "Or, at least I was. But nevermind that! How do you do?"
Yoongi looked at the flying creature before him and shook his head. There was no way that he was seeing this. Faries aren't real. He was probably really tired and was seeing and hearing things because that was the only explanation for why Yoongi was seeing a fairy in front of him that he was going to accept.
"You're not real," Yoongi said softly. He slowly raised his hand to try and poke the fairy in front of him. "If I touch you, you'll go away."
But Hoseok didn't go away. Instead, he only giggled as the finger poked his stomach. Yoongi watched as the fairy sat down on his outstretched finger, the shine from his sparkling wings slightly dimming as he lowered them.
"I didn't go away, sir! I guess your spell didn't work." Hoseok said smiling at Yoongi. "You also didn't answer my question. How do you do?"
Yoongi stared at the creature sitting on his finger, shooked that the fairy was still there and speaking to him. He was about to say something when he heard the screaming from earlier once again. Yoongi looked around trying to figure out where the scream had come from this time.
"Who's screaming?" Yoongi asked still looking around. He didn't expect Hoseok to answer him so he didn't pay much attention to when the fairy got up from his finger.
"It's the guards. And they're not screaming, they're yelling. With all due respect sir, you should really know the difference." Hoseok said flying near Yoongi's right shoulder.
Yoongi rolled his eyes, feeling a bit irritated that the fairy was trying to correct him. "Well, it sounded like screaming to me."
"Like I said sir, they're not screaming. They're yelling." Hoseok said as he lowered himself onto Yoongi's right shoulder.
"Since you know what they're doing then, what are they yelling about?" Yoongi asked looking at the fairy standing on his shoulder.
Hoseok quickly looked down at his feet in shame before speaking softly.
"They're looking for me."

Hoseok had been living with him for almost a month now. Ever since they came across each other at the park, Yoongi had never left the fairy alone. At first, his closeness to the fairy was mostly due to the fact that he couldn't believe that a real-life fairy was in his house. However, as time went on, the closeness to the fairy went from fascination to adoration. Yoongi had become friends with the strange creature and didn't want to leave him alone. He allowed the fairy to stay with him for as long as he needed to and the tiny creature had not missed an opportunity to thank Yoongi for his hospitality since he got there.
Yoongi had one day asked Hoseok if he was planning on leaving any day soon. Now, Yoongi hadn't asked that question because he wanted Hoseok to leave, he had made sure Hoseok had understood that when he asked him the question. He had only asked because he was curious as to how long Hoseok would stay with him.
The small fairy simply told him that he would probably stay with Yoongi until the day he dies. Yoongi had been quite shocked by Hoseok's response and asked the fairy why he would say that. Hoseok flew over to Yoongi's bed (because it was during the night when the question had been asked) and laid by Yoongi's head to explain to Yoongi why he couldn't go back home.
The royal guards and knights of his kingdom were after him. If he was ever to go back home, Hoseok would be greeted with instant death. And all because Hoseok had fallen in love with the wrong person. He had fallen in love with his future husband's brother, Prince Kim Namjoon. And Kim Seokjin, the oldest Prince of the Fall Fairies had only come to know about this until the day before their wedding. Seokjin had walked into Hoseok's room to give him a gift only to find him kissing Namjoon.
Hoseok told Yoongi that Seokjin didn't speak about what he had seen until a few nights into their marriage. The newly wedded couple had been laying in bed when Seokjin threatened to harm Hoseok and Namjoon if they were ever to meet up again.
The fairy explained to Yoongi how he had never been so scared for his life, and for someone else's. Hoseok had decided to warn Namjoon.
They met in secret one last time to talk and shared one last kiss. But somehow Seokjin had found out about Hoseok and Namjoon's secret meeting.
Seokjin was furious and had Hoseok locked in their bedroom while he dealt with Namjoon. Hoseok was shaken when the news of Namjoon's death had reached him. Apparently, Seokjin had sent Namjoon to the Giants of the Mountains to live there. Hoseok explained to Yoongi that any fairy sent to those mountains wouldn't even last an hour before the giants ate them.
That night, when Seokjin had fallen asleep, Hoseok flew out of their window in fear for his life. He knew he was next to go to the mountains, he had overheard Seokjin and the guards talking about sending him there the next day. He told Yoongi about how he flew all the way to the edge of the Fairy Forest and stayed there for a few days until he heard the voices of the royal guards calling for him. He knew that Seokjin had most likely sent them to look for him, and he knew the fate that awaited him if he was captured by the guards, so he flew out of the forest and entered the human world.
That night Yoongi promised Hoseok that he would keep him safe. In return, Hoseok promised he would help him in any way possible.
At first, Yoongi tried to tell Hoseok that he didn't have to help with anything but the fairy wouldn't listen to him. Yoongi later learned to be grateful for the stubbornness of the fairy wanting to help him since it turned out he struggled with quite a few things. Especially his writing.
Yoongi had told Hoseok about the story he was writing and how he had been struggling for the longest time on how to keep it going. Hoseok had asked Yoongi if he could read the story and Yoongi said yes and showed Hoseok the story.
Hoseok instantly fell in love with Yoongi's story and would always ask the human when he would write more.
At first, these questions put a sort of pressure on Yoongi but they later turned into a sort of motivation. The fact that someone was waiting for his story made Yoongi want to try and continue it.
And also because if he managed to write at least a chapter or two more, Hoseok would be so happy, and a happy Hoseok was a sight Yoongi liked to see. Especially when he wakes up, like right now for example. He had been on his couch writing since yesterday afternoon and hadn't fallen asleep until today around noon.
"Yoongi! You're awake!" Hoseok exclaimed flying over to the now awake human.
"Yeah, what were you doing?" Yoongi asked sitting up. Hoseok simply smiled and flew straight towards Yoongi's forehead to place a small but loud kiss on it.
Yoongi was taken by surprise and stared at the smiling fairy before him.
"I read what you had written on your laptop and I just wanted to say it's so amazing! I'm glad you were able to continue the story."
Yoongi blushed and ducked his head. "I've been feeling a bit motivated to finish the story lately. I don't know how long I'm gonna be like this but I'm trying to write as much as I can before it goes away."
Hoseok flew over to Yoongi's right shoulder and sat down. "Well, I hope you stay motivated long enough to finish your story."
Yoongi nodded his head and smiled. "I hope so too."
