Work Text:

Waking up with a start and a gasp, Tine knows it was just a dream. He's been having these kinds of dreams over the past month; since he and Wat had broken up.

Heart in his stomach, he rubs his eyes, thinking over the dream.

He'd been walking through the school halls for what felt like forever. There was no one else around, and he had begun to feel uneasy. When he got to the door of the music club, he could hear a guitar being played. Without even looking, dream Tine knew it was Wat.

Upon opening the door, he saw him. Across the room, Wat was standing alone, strumming his guitar. Tine started to walk to him, but it took him a long time to get there. It seemed that no matter how fast he walked, the distance between them stayed the same.

Until Wat looked up from his guitar, meeting Tine's eyes. And then Tine was standing right beside him. The guitar was gone, but he could still hear the music.

"Sarawat." Tine said, his voice dripping with the fondness he felt.

While not usually quiet around Tine, Wat didn't say anything. He simply smiled, taking Tine's hand in his own.

"I miss you." Dream Tine didn't know why he missed him, only that he did.

At this, Sarawat smiled and nodded his head once. Then he started walking, leading Tine out of the room. They walked at a leisurely pace, and Wat would occasionally look at Tine with a smile.

Butterflies in his stomach, Tine ran his thumb in circles on the back of Wats' hand.

"Do you think we'll be like this forever?" Tine asked, looking at him.

Wat didn't answer this.

When Tine looked away from him, he saw there were now walking on a sidewalk. Standing ahead of them was Wat. Looking at his empty hand, Tine understood that he was no longer with him. His heart felt like it suddenly weighed a ton.

Tine couldn't move. He couldn't walk to the new Wat, who was so close but felt so far away.

He opened his mouth to call for him, but that was when he woke up.

Now laying in his bed, Tine was trying to keep himself from crying. It's been days now since he'd last heard from Sarawat, it being another text asking to get back together. Maybe he had decided Tine was no longer worth it. Maybe he decided to get over him. Tine couldn't blame him.

Just as Tine is about to roll over and go back to sleep, there's a knock at his door. Why would someone disturb his heartbroken wallowing? He drags himself out of bed, over to the door.

He swings it open without checking to see who stands on the other side. Which is probably a good thing, because he may not have opened it if he'd known Wat was going to see him in this state.

But sure enough, standing on the other side of the door is none other than the man of his dreams.

Too embarrassed to speak, Tine just stares at him. But Wat isn't phased by this.

"Tine." He said in a breathy voice like he had run all the way here. "I miss you."

Tears falling down his face, Tine takes a breath.

"Everything reminds me of you." Tine finally says.

Wat smiles softly at this, and Tine feels that familiar fondness growing in his chest.
