Work Text:

With a test only a week away, Tutor has spent the entire day studying. He had told Fighter he could stay in his room with him, as long as he was quiet. And Fighter was quiet, for the first few hours. He had been content to just sit on the bed and watch his boyfriend do schoolwork. But now, he was in the need of some attention from one specific person.

Tossing and turning on the bed, Fight can't keep his eyes off Tutor. He watches as he writes intensely, entirely focused on the task at hand. Fighter should be studying too, but he'd get around to it eventually.

Quietly sliding off the bed, he makes his way across the room to where Tutor sits.

"Tutor?" He mumbles, standing behind and wrapping his arms around Tutors neck.

"Not now, Fight. You see me studying, right?"

"Yes, but you've been at it all day, surely you can take a break?"

It's not likely of Tutor to take a break when he's in the zone, but it's worth a try.

"Not right now. Just wait a little longer, and then we can get something to eat."

A little longer could be the rest of the night; since Tutor loses track of time when he gets like this.

"How bout a kiss?" Fighter asks, rubbing his nose against Tutor's neck.

Turning his head without looking away from his work, Tutor gives Fighter a kiss. But it's a quick peck, and it leaves the older man wanting more.

"Mmm, how about another?"

Tutor does so, but still not looking at him. This time, Fighter tries to deepen the kiss, but Tutor pulls back without noticing his efforts.

The rejection stings a little, but Fighter is nothing if not determined. He kisses along Tutor's shoulder, up his neck, and to that spot behind his ear that usually makes him weak in the knees. But this time, Tutor does not appreciate it.

"Fighter!" He snaps, getting up from his chair quickly, making Fighter jump back to keep their heads from colliding. "I have to study! You may not care about your education, but you know I do, and you know that. If you can't respect that and wait without disturbing me, please leave."

Fighter stands there in silence, blinking a few times. How could Tutor say that? Fighter cares about his future more than anything; since Tutor and he share one. And he definitely cares about Tutor doing well in life.

Face heating with embarrassment and anger, Fighter leaves without another word. Tutor watches as the door slams behind him, already aware that he's made a mistake.

He looks down at his study materials. Why did he say those things? He'd been stressed over the test for a few days, but he knows Fighter shouldn't be on the receiving end of that. Without wasting another second, Tutor is running out of the room, intent on catching up to Fighter. But when he steps into the hall, Fighter is leaning against the wall beside the door.

"Fight-" He starts to apologize, but is cut off.

"I know, I know. Don't worry, I'm going." He turns to leave, but Tutor catches his hand, pulling him in and holding him tight.

"I'm sorry." He whispers into Fighter's neck. "I've been worried about this test, and I shouldn't take it out on you. I'll take a break; I don't want you to leave."

Hearing this, Fighter relaxes into Tutor's arms. They stay like this, enjoying the shared body heat, until Fighter blows air into Tutor's ear, making him jump.

"You're forgiven." Fighter says, laughing.

After recovering from the shock of that gust of air, Tutor takes Fight by the hand and pulls him back into his room. He'd rather study his boyfriend, anyway.
