desire- Deku angst

Izuku walked. He was in a forest, trailing three people. He couldn't see their faces.

The three chattered as the little group walked up the mountain, back to the lodge their class was staying at. It was cold.

Every once in a while, one of the three people would gesture for him to keep up, or turn towards him to include him in their conversation. The brunette did most of the talking.

Izuku shivered violently as they were passing a remarkably large tree, and the boy with chimeric hair hummed.

"Come here," he half-whispered, his low voice entrancing Izuku.

He walked forward.

From the bag he was holding, the pleasant sounding boy pulled out a tightly folded, chestnut brown jacket. He stiffly handed the fleece-lined garment to Izuku, who took it and muttered, "thank you, when do you want it back?"

The boy stared at him blankly, before asking, "do you not want it?"

Izuku tilted his head obliviously, not yet having put the jacket on.

"It's a gift. If you want to return it, do you not want it?" Furrowing his brow, the boy with split hair frowned, and Izuku shrunk under his gaze. He still couldn't meet his eyes.

Hugging the still folded jacket, Izuku whispered, "a gift? For me?"

Looking in concern, the tall boy with glasses shared a glance with the brunette, before she simply said, "of course. He asked for help picking one for you."

The chimeric boy nodded, continuing her thought. "I was going to give it to you at the lodge, but you seemed cold."

Izuku stared in disbelief. For him? Why? Was everything okay? Are they okay? Did they want something of him? Did they-

Izuku broke into tears. It really was just a gift, just a jacket, but it was for him. A gift for him.

His hot tears ran cold down his cheeks, the chilly winter air brushing sharp fingers over his nose. The three people rushed to his side in concern, asking if he was alright.

He still hasn't put the jacket on.

A sharp sound filled the air, and Izuku sat up from the warmth of his bed. It was his phone alarm.

Soft spring light filled his room, his clock reading seven in the morning.

He looked around his room.

There was no chestnut brown jacket.
There was no brunette.
There was no tall boy with glasses.

There was no chimeric, pleasant voiced boy.

Izuku sighed, and closed his eyes. He wondered who they were? In another life, did he know them?

For now, Izuku worried about how his old friends were doing, before he isolated himself in an online high school.

He slept for another four hours.
