Chapter 1: Drabble 1

Chapter Text

“Doesn’t it hurt?” You ask, frowning as you watch the fine needles on the tattoo gun piercing their way into Hoseok’s skin. It looks like it hurts, particularly given he’s getting this tattoo on his ribs.

“Nah, I’m a pro at this now.” He boasts, smirking at you from where he’s laid. You weren’t sure what the normal position for this was but he’d chosen to lay on his side, letting his tattoo artist reach his ribs without him accidentally moving. Surely he was cold in here? The leather of the chaise he was laid on had to be cold.

“Really…” Mumbling, you peer to take a closer look at the artwork that’s being painstakingly needled into his skin. When he’d said that was getting a tattoo today, you’d thought it would be something small. But then you had no experience in tattooing so what did you know?

Instead, he was getting Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir tattooed onto his ribs. Not the Marvel one, but the proper one that didn’t look anything like a hammer. He’d just said he thought it looked cool when he’d picked it and that he planned on having a Jörmungander on the other side.

Apparently he’d already decided on Mjölnir but had made the decision about the Norse world serpent after watching you play and finish God of War. Hoseok had thought the giant snake was cool and you’d explained to him that Jörmungandr in Norse mythology was a serpent who grew so big that he circled the world and bite his own tail. When he let he go of his tail, Ragnarök would begin and he’d fight Thor.

Immediately he’d designed to get the world serpent as a perfect companion and you’d admitted that the design would be cool. And it certainly was going to look good give what the artist had come up with.

“It’s looking good though.” You muse, running your thumb gently over Hoseok’s hand. He was laid with his head resting on his arm, hair flopped over his forehead in a way that made him look like he was going to a mid-2000s My Chemical Romance gig. But he still looked handsome.

And utterly at ease with being sliced open in thousands of tiny pinprick cuts. The very idea made you shudder.

“I’m glad. I’m only gonna be stuck with it for my life you know.” Hoseok teased, sticking his tongue out at you in amusement when you wrinkle your nose at him. That just gets a quiet laugh, quickly followed by an apology as his tattooist grumbles at the movement.

“You could get it lasered off.” Reaching forward, you wipe at a bit of sleep that had dried in the corner of his eye that he hadn’t gotten rid of yet before running your fingers through his hair. “Or get it covered up.”

“Nah, only the weak do that. Go big or go home right?” Frowning, you poke at his nose.

“That’s stupid. Dont say that about a tattoo.” Now its your turn to grumble at him and he laughs lightly.

“Yes ma'am. What do you want to eat to-owwwww!” Hoseok’s grip on your hand tightens suddenly as he jerks, face crunching in pain and the exclamation leaving him loudly. It causes you to jump in turn, worry flooding you until you just realise that you’d been right and the ribs really were a painful place to get tattooed.

“Thought it didn’t hurt?” You ask sardonically, one brow raised at him. He pouts adorably in response before wincing, teeth gritted.

“Don’t laugh at me. I’m hurting.” His lower lip sticks out and you roll your eyes before pushing at it.

“You’re a big boy. Go big or go home, right?”
