Inko turned in her bed, looking to the clock. '11:30' wow, she woke up later than she thought. She sighed, tucking her self in more, there wasn't really anything to get up for today anyways. It was mother's day, the first mother's day she'd spend without Izuku.
She knew he'd most likely be busy with training and tutoring, but when she talked to him yesterday it was confirmed. UA couldn't spare him today he had training to do. The last two years they let him come but with his third year came more responsibilities. Inko wiped a small tear from her eye, she rarely got to see him anymore. Whether he was busy with heros, school, or friends he never seemed to have any extra time for her lately. She understood the reasons but that didn't stop her missing her little boy.
She could remember a time where he never wanted to leave her side, clinging to her hip on his first day of school. She smiled and remembered mother's days when he was younger. One year when Izuku was first learning how to cook, he made her breakfast in bed waking up extra early to make an American style breakfast, one he'd learned from an All Might themed cook book she'd bought him. He made a huge mess of the kitchen but it tasted and smelled pretty good. She could almost smell the buttered pancakes and eggs now... Wait.. She sniffed the air, she really could smell them.
She hadn't noticed it before but she could faintly hear someone talking and shuffling around in her kitchen. Who could be in her kitchen without her knowing about it till now? She got out of bed putting on her robe, going to search for the source.
When she emerged from her bedroom she could smell the delicious food, her stomach growling a bit. "Izuku, is that you" she questioned before walking into her kitchen. Not finding Izuku but All Might working in her kitchen. It wasn't an unusual sight to see the retired number one hero in her home any longer as they had started a quiet relationship not that long ago. But it certainly wasn't what she expected to find. "Good morning love, you slept quite late," Toshinori said turning to face Inko with a smile.
She returned his smile as he bent to give her a kiss on the cheek, "Good morning Toshi, to what do I owe this surprise?"
"He's making you breakfast," Izuku's image excitedly said from the phone propped up on the counter , "Happy Mother's day!"
"Young Midoriya told me about his situation and how he hated the thought of you alone on mother's day. So I volunteered to do something special for you," Toshinori said his smile never faulting.
Inko looked between the device and her boyfriend smiling, "that's so sweet but you two didn't have to go through all this trouble."
"You deserve it mom, you worked so hard to raise me all by yourself. I wish I could do more for you myself right now but it'll have to wait till next weekend," Izuku said as Toshinori nodded.
"Thank you, both of you. I'm love you both so much," Inko said pulling Toshi into a hug.
"Love you too mom," Izuku said smiling, "my next tutoring session will be here in a few minutes so I'm going to have to let you go. I hope you enjoy the rest of your mother's day."
