"Kacchan?" The boy glances at his friend whose playing at one of the monkey bars. The taller ash blonde boy stopped to turn around and face the one who called him. "What, Izuku?" He asks, getting down from the bar and sits beside the smaller greenette. "Do you believe in reincarnation?" Izuku suddenly asks because as a kid, curiosity takes over. "Reincarnation? What made you think that thing's real?"
"I was just asking if you believe in it because if it is...I want us to be friends again when we're reborn! We can become heroes again with different names!" Izuku beamed in excitement. "When did you learn how to use those big words Izuku?"
"I read momma's books. It's about quirks! And it has some difficult words. I wonder what quirk I would get.."
"Whatever it is, I'm sure it won't be as good as mine!"
"It's okay! Kacchan's gonna be the number one after all! Kacchan's always awesome!"
"Mhm! And I will protect you and the other people as the number one hero!"
"Promise?"
"Yeah Izuku. Promise! "

"Why don't you take a swan dive off the roof and hope that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life!"
"Deku! I'm so sorry!" Katsuki shouted at the greenette who stood there frozen, he looks up only to see what he expected not to see from the soft, caring, self sacrificing Izuku. His face is filled with rage and slight disgust. He was scowling at the blonde before him. "You...You took that long to apologize?" Izuku's hands shook in anger as he speak. "Just how pathetic you can be? Not only that you bullied me throughout middle school but keep in mind you also ignored me throughout UA. All I ever wanted was to be recognized by you as an equal but your big ass ego is just as much of an asshole as you are."
"Dek-"
"DON'T CALL ME THAT!"
"De- Midori- FUCK! Izuku please! If there's anything I can do for you to forgive me then I'll do it! I've been missing sleep because of this!"
Isn't the one to beg. But did he expect his whole apology scenario to be all cupcakes and rainbows? Yeah, sure but to see Izuku's once happy, bright smile turn into a scowl caused by the one who's supposed to be always scowling? He did not imagine that at all. "Maybe when you're selfless. Maybe when you realize how much pain you caused me all those years. Maybe when you sacrifice yourself for someone? You told me to take a swan dive off the roof once. I have always tried to imagine myself forgiving you but I couldn't. I hate you! Just...leave me the hell alone Bakugou."
Not Kacchan...Just Bakugou. Damn...
Katsuki felt his heart clench as Izuku got further and further away from his touch. Katsuki had no idea that the other hated him this much. At least...not until now. He felt like he was rejected by him even though he hasn't even confessed yet and what's the point of confessing if the only person he's ever loved held a grudge against him?
Is this what they call regret? Is this how he felt all those years of torment he received from me? He doesn't call me Kacchan...He only calls me Bakugou now. God damn it pull yourself together Katsuki! What did he mean about 'when I'm selfless'?

A couple of days passed he hasn't heard of the green haired hero. He received a couple of work messages and Uraraka getting angry at him for even apologizing to Izuku. That bitch, she should be thankful that he apologized after all he had done! But...she has a point. He just apologized now..and it's already too late.
He hasn't slept since that day and hasn't taken a day off since then either. His friends tried to talk him out of it but neither one of them can crack him open. Later that night, he crashed into Shitty Hair and Duncey's place, bawling his eyes out till he passed out. Izuku's right...he is pathetic.
"Mr. Ground Zero? Are you listening?"
Bakugou snapped out of his stupor and grunted. "What?" He questioned. His boss sighed and repeated what he said. "I said Endeavor's agency is gonna be working with us in this mission. With them, taking down the Arnes Quipor would be most likely possible, we've been trying to stop them for the past two years and this could be our only chance since they already made a big empire here in our country. Got that?"
Endeavor...so that means..
"Hero Deku would be with us?"
"Yes, also Uravity, Shouto, and Igneuim."
"Right...When does this mission start?"
"Tomorrow, if possible. Meeting's over, you're dismissed."
With that Katsuki and his coworkers turned to leave the office. So he'll be working with Deku....this isn't gonna end good or start.

Morning came pretty quickly and The Calvary Agency was packed with heroes from their agency and Endeavor's. When he entered the meeting room he immediately saw the face of the one he's been yearning to see for the past week of heartbreak and regret. Izuku. The green haired male noticed he came in but didn't even looked him in the eyes! He also received a glare from his former classmate, Uraraka. Iida and Todoroki just nodded at him and so what he did in return. And so, the meeting began.

As the meeting ended, he waited for the greenette and his friends to stand up and when they did, Katsuki approached them. "Wait. Uraraka, Todoroki, Iida...I need to talk to you. Please." The sounds of their family names coming out of his mouth were a surprise to the trio. Well...momentarily before the brunette frowned at him. "Great timing then. I needed to talk to you as well." She spat at him, venom clear in her tone which made the three males standing before them confused.
"Hey, Ura, Todo, Iida. I'm gonna wait outside for you three when you're done okay?" Deku spoke to them. Them. The three nodded and watched as the room became empty. "What did you want to talk to us about, huh? Apologizing out of nowhere? If you're here to beg for help, we aren't gonna help you. You made Deku-kun miserable for a long time. Might as well you the same." Uraraka says coldly. "Ochako! What are you saying?" Iida interrupted. "What I'm saying, Tenya, is that this asshole has the nerve to say sorry for after all he's done."
"He's already apologized to Midoriya. Why are you still angry?"
"No...She has every right to be pissed at me. But I already accepted the fucking fact that he won't forgive me. Not for what I did. And I'm not here to beg. I don't beg. I'm here to propose a way to save Izuku." This caught their attention. "Save? Why would he be needed to be saved?" Todoroki asks him. Katsuki looked at him with his tired eyes and sighed. "You know how self sacrificial that nerd is. You experienced it yourself during our sports festival on our first year Halfie." Katsuki tiredly says and Todoroki lets out a sigh before asking again. "You look extremely tired, Bakugou. Have you slept at all?"
"No. Haven't slept nor took a fucking break for a week but I'll be good as new once I drink my coffee." He says. "Bakugou-kun. You should get some sleep once the mission is over. It's bad for your health!" Iida says to him while doing his signature air karate chop. "I'll keep that in mind. As I was saying, if the chances are great that the five of us gets stuck of each other's backs and there's no way we can win a fight...get out of there. I'll...I'll stay behind and....hold them off as long as I can."
The room became quiet again that's before Iida spoke once more. "That is absurd! We would never leave anyone behind!" "No, Four Eyes. Someone has to stay and hold them off, not you, not Round Face, not Halfie, but me. You keep Izuku out of trouble's harm."
(Too fucking lazy to continue the talk anyway.)

Everything happened so fast.
The Arnes Quipor was quick to react and fought with their strongest people.
Katsuki is wheezing at this point. His arms hurt from overuse of quirk, his head was spinning, his costume was teared to shreds the only thing that kept him going was his gauntlets and of course, the love of his ever fucking miserable life, Izuku. What are the chances that all he said was becoming true? The five of them found each other and stuck to each other's sides. Izuku already had both hands and leg shattered. He can't fight anymore. Uraraka is a few more minutes from passing out due to motion sickness. Todoroki's body is covered with burns and icicles. Iida is already limping due to overuse of quirk.
They were almost hopeless. The only thing that kept them away from the villains are the ice wall Todoroki built and they only have mere seconds before the wall breaks.
CRACK!
The heroes flinched when they hear the crack of the ice wall. Uraraka and Iida stayed by Midoriya's side while Todoroki and Bakugou stood on guard.
CRACK!
Another one. Katsuki stared at the cracking wall of ice. "Shit." He cursed loudly. "Todoroki. You...you have to do it. I'll stay behind and hold them off." He says lowly to the heterochromatic hero and turns and faces his fellow heroes. "Listen up. Round Face, think you could make a last tip of your quirk?"
"I..I think so. Yeah."
"Four Eyes?"
"I'll do my best."
"...Half and half?"
"I can do a few more."
Everything was perfect for their escape. "Round Face, hit De-...Izuku, up with your quirk to make him lighter and you can carry him through easily." The brunette opened her mouth to protest but was stopped when she took a good look on the blonde's pleading eyes and just shuts her mouth and nods. Tears pricking on the corner of her eyes. She never would have expected that their little plan was going to be used.
He might be an asshole but I just can't leave anyone behind. I'm sorry I ever badmouthed (we all know that's not a word but get through it) you.
"Four Eyes use your...whatever...engine legs and push till you're up that big ass hole up there and escape." The blue haired man nodded and helped the confused greenette stand up. Deku looks at the both of his friends, Uraraka had tears flowing on her cheek and Iida's eyes are filled with unshed tears. "Guys, why are you crying?" He asks purely out of concern. "Nothing, Deku. C'mon, we're getting out of here." Uraraka answers and flashed a sad smile on his way. "Half n Half. Build a block of ice that can reach up to there, think you can do that?" He hears Bakugou says.
Midoriya looked over to them and sees Todoroki nodding. "How about you? Think you can get out alive?" Hearing this made Izuku's eyes widened.
What?
"Of course fucking Halfie. I always win." Bakugou shots him with his usual smirk. He's smirking and all but yet it has a tinge of fear. "Wait...What are you two talking about? Let's get out of here and wait for back up-"
CRACK!
"Now Half N Half!" The blonde yells and Todoroki builds a mountain of ice that leads towards the hole on the wall. "Wait...Bakugou!" Izuku panicked.
Why is he walking towards the wall?! He's not gonna-
"Where are you going?! There's too many of them! You can't possibly-"
"Izuku..." the blonde male turns to face him and smiled. Actually smiling. "Do you think reincarnation is true?"
"What? No! N-no you..You can't..."
"Because if it is..."
"BAKUGOU-"
"I promise to love you twice."
"Ba-..Kacchan...PLEASE! Don't...don't do this! We should escape and wait for the other heroes to finish this! Please..."
"I promised to protect you and the people around you. That's what I'm going to do. 11 years I made you suffer. I've loved you for 18 years, I can wait until we meet again Izuku." Bakugou chuckled sadly.
"NO! STOP! KACCHAN NO!"
"I'll do what you said, be selfless. By then you'll forgive me right? It's time to be the hero I'm supposed to be."
"I ALREADY LOST ALL MIGHT AND I'M NOT GONNA LOSE YOU TOO!! Please...I can't loose another one...you're my hero Kacchan!"
Izuku squirmed in Uraraka's shoulder. He couldn't do anything as he and his friends were blasted through the wall. He couldn't do anything but watch as tears fell from Katsuki's mesmerizing ruby eyes and the smile that creeped on his face. He couldn't do anything but call out for the other's name when he mouthed something as the wall behind him broke and the villains flooding behind him.
"KATSUKIIIIIIIII!!"

The infiltration was a success.
Uraraka, Todoroki and I were waiting by the ambulance since I asked the medics to not take me to the hospital still because I was waiting for someone.
Iida came back with a limp body in his arms. The disheveled blonde hair popped out and I immediately stood up from my bed and limped my way towards them.
"Bakugou took a nap. Like he promised to do after the mission is over. I'm sorry Midoriya...I didn't reach him in time. There's too many of them."
I immediately knew what that meant.
He's gone.
Forever.
I wailed as I cradled his body with my own. Uraraka crying behind me and Todoroki holding me back from behind. Kacchan didn't keep his promise. Kacchan never does. I cried harder as his last promise and words echoed it's way in my mind.
"I love you. My Izuku"
I didn't even get to tell him how I felt. That's how my life is. Filled with empty promises.
