Work Text:

It was a warzone. The lights flashing, the walls illuminated and Koi was an easy target with his white shirt glowing due to the ultraviolet lights in the laser tag arena. But Koi was skilled in this game. His weakness proved to be his enemies’ greatest fear as they were instantly shot and decommissioned for a few seconds upon seeing the glowing purple shirt of Kisaragi “Pinkaggedon” Koi.

What also helped his confidence was his solid Red Team. Hajime who was under the alias, “Hajime” was doing surprisingly well for his first time playing laser tag. Although, most of his points came from digging out Haru or “Mother Bird” and shooting him. Still, this was helpful seeing how Haru used his genius to come up with some great plays for the Blue Team. With him being hunted by Hajime, the Blue Team was scattered and couldn’t reconvene in fear of running into “Hajime.”

His other teammate was troublesome but pulled his weight when it came to anyone not Aoi. Arata, also known as “Heartbreak Red,” was a silent killer. He hid behind walls and structures, waiting patiently for a victim to come. Sadly, whenever he was discovered he would panic and get shot a lot before he could finally lose the enemy. His second fault was that he was very self-sacrificing when it came to Blue Team’s “Prince.” Koi was just thankful he couldn’t shoot his own teammate as Arata would throw himself in front of Aoi only for the “Prince” to sigh and shoot “Heartbreak Red” in the back.

“Three minutes left. The Red Team is in the lead.”

Koi fist-pumped when he heard the announcement, but grew serious when he felt a presence. He backed up only to find himself in a corner with the only way out leaving him completely exposed. Thus, he took his chances by sitting in the corner with his laser gun at the ready for his attacker to come from any direction.

“It seems we’re at a standoff, Pinkaggedon.” A blue laser beam focused on Koi’s chest appeared and his boyfriend now enemy emerged from his hiding spot.

“You know you won’t be able to hit me on time Star 1200. I’m faster than you, I always have been.” Koi teased.

“Maybe, but I have a plan that’ll change the game.” Kakeru or “Star 1200,” said with a smirk, as he grew closer and closer to Koi.

“Oh? Please, you can’t have an ambush because I know Aoi and Arata are on the other side of the arena. I heard Haru whining at Hajime meaning he’s occupied. So please, enlighten me on what possible strategy will get you these last few points?”

There was silence, guns readied, and aimed at the other's chest. Koi's brows furrowed, he never moved his eyes off his enemy as he waited for this plan to take place. However, Kakeru chuckled and moved his gun to his side, catching Koi off guard. “You’re right, I was hoping my bluff of having a plan would throw you off but it seems that failed. I guess I really lost this round.”

Koi relaxed, and followed in lowering his gun. “Seems so. But I did get lucky in that team selection.”

“Since we have another minute or so left in this nice, dark, secluded corner...What do you say I award you early for this victory?” Kakeru mused, pressing close to Koi.

Koi’s face flushed the color of his hair, “Star 1200 please, we’re still in combat. What if the others see us?”

“Knowing Arata and Aoi they’re taking advantage of this darkness as well. And like you said, Haru is occupied with Hajime. No one will catch our forbidden love between enemies Pinkaggedon~” Kakeru purred.

“I guess you’re right.”

“Now lean down a bit, it’s hard for me to reach you with these chest plates.”

Koi let out a chuckle and did as he was told. Kakeru leaned forward and hummed happily as their lips met. Koi released his laser gun to cup Kakeru’s cheek, his thumb brushing the older’s jaw a little. It was then Kakeru moved away, looking straight into Koi’s eyes and let out a breathless laugh.

“I win.”

Koi was still dazed by the kiss to process his boyfriend’s words and by the time he did it was too late. Kakeru had aimed his laser gun to Koi’s chest and shot him, a ding from his gun was heard from gaining the points. A buzzard sounded and the arena was illuminated a bit by regular lights and a staff member could be heard directing everyone to the exit.

“Game over. Blue team wins.”

Kakeru cackled as he walked away from his boyfriend and started heading to the exit while Koi fell to the floor in effigy.

Notes:

I wanted to write a fic for Kiss Day which is still happening where I live okay! There's a kiss in it so it counts. I got the inspiration from this prompt here: https://halleydoedog.tumblr.com/post/172193346067/halleydoedog-take-me-laser-tagging-and-then
