Chapter Text
“Oh look, it’s her…the poor wrench.”
Another day…another round of pain. She could make it through the day just fine as far as no one comes towards her. As usual, she goes to her indoor shoe locker to find it empty with a note saying she could go kill herself in a ditch. Sighing to herself, she puts away the note and focuses on trying to find her shoes, which may have been soaked or torn again if the bullies were kinder, before the bell starts. She is barely out of the doors when she hears someone shout.
“HEY JENKINGS! LOOKING FOR THIS?! YOU WANT IT COME GET IT.”
Ah looks like today’s not the day of luck. No wonder her breakfast that morning was sour. Turning around she was met face to face with her daily bully; Neito Monoma. The blonde couldn’t just let her be for a day. He held her shoes in his right while a lighter in the second one. At this point, she has two options; walk to him to get it or walk away. She decided the latter was a better option and started walking away not without saying something.
“When are you going to stop being such a dick?”
Fucking good cookies, she had to say that. In order to not create more chaos, she continued walking away but not without getting dragged back by her bag.
“What was that? You mind repeating what you just said?”
“N-N-Nothing at all”
“Tch. Learn your place insect.”
With that he dropped her shoes on the floor after singing it a bit. Well, at least he didn’t totally burn it. Se dusted the shoes, put them on and put her outside shoes in her locker with a silent prayer to the heavens to protect the poor tattered shoes.
On her walk to class, she noticed the crowd in front of her class. Using her size to her advantage, she managed to squeeze through and get past them to enter the class. You ask; “How come you’re unfazed by the crowd?” well the answer is pretty simple. Evie is a member of Class 2-A which housed a lot of top students academically in her state while financially on others or both for a good few.
Finally, in the class, she noticed that the majority of the crowd were females; explanation? One person. Bakugou Katsuki and his troupe.
Oh heavens please hear my prayer, don’t let them see me. Please don’t let them see me.
But of course, her luck ran out the window when she was about to sit down.
“Well, Well, Well. If it isn’t the stick in the mud?” Her teal eyes clashed with his ruby red eyes. His eyes had an addictive look to it that she had to force her head away from him. She was about going to her seat at the back of the class when a well-manicured hand stuck out in front of her; stopping her in her tracks.
“Whaaaaaaaat?! Not even a good morning to us ALL? Wow! The audacity. Baku was talking to you and the least you should have done is say a greeting.” Mina Ashido, head of the school’s club activities and fashion Barbie, spoke with excess exclamation. She enjoyed picking on her especially when it was during gym (you would’ve thought that would be the work of boys…but NO)
“Ummmm did she even bother looking at herself in a mirror? Because…” Toru Hagakure, Ashido’s right hand gal, spoke up while looking at her from head to toe.
The entire class started laughing. She had to put herself together so she couldn’t give them the satisfaction they wanted.
“C’mon guys isn’t it quite early to be picking on her?” the laughter died down as all heads turned to Kirishima. He was Bakugou’s best pal. An angel sometimes…a demon at most. There were days he would indirectly save her from the worse to come while sometimes he would make her walk right into it.
“She just wants to do the only thing she could afford…occupy space.” Apparently, today was demon day.
Shrinking further into herself, she walked away from the laughter and straight to her seat. She was so focused on getting to her seat that she didn’t notice that a paper was stuck in her hand till the day officially began.
Immediately the bell rang for lunch, the class became empty with only a few people hanging around. She was about to sleep on her desk (because she can’t afford lunch) when she heard mutterings around her. She opened her eyes and almost fell out of her chair in fear. Five people walked right up to her chair and she recognized them right away.
Tenya Iida, student council president, inheritor of Ingenium Inc.
Todoroki Shouto, UA’s resident hot shot and captain of the drama club, next in line for Endeavor Industries.
Tsuyu Asui, president of the school’s swim team.
Ochaco Uraraka, president of the cheerleading squad
And Izuku Midoriya. He was a girl’s wet dream come true. With green hair and emerald eyes, he looked pretty plain without any expressions on his face, but one smirked and it’s the Emergency unit for you. He had a muscular body that made even guys feel jealous. The good thing, he had a loveable attitude but he hardly spoke in things that don’t really draw his attention. He was the step son of Yagi Toshinori, the man was so well known in the business world that they say he even breathes cash, the owner of One for All.
The fun fact was that they were all in her class.
And they stood in front of her without any malicious look from them. For a good three minutes they seemed to communicate with one another with their eyes. When they reached a conclusion they all turned to you.
“Did you read the note that was thrust into your hand?” Iida spoke pushing his glasses.
She shook her head slowly. “Is it...?” she asked skeptically
“No it’s not a ‘throw yourself in a ditch note’ or a ‘get lost wrench’ note. But it’s important for you to read it.” He said while looking at Midoriya. Who visibly showed his disgust in the notes you frequently got.
Reaching into her book, she brought it out and unfolded it.
"What's your take on arranged relationship?" it read
She looked between them and the note for a few seconds before she let out the loudest question she could utter.
“WHAT?!”
