Work Text:
“Why did I even agree to go to this stupid party?” Sarawat mumbles, raising his cup of beer to his lips to have a sip. He shakes his head and sighs, uneasy as the people around him danced and laughed and talked so loudly. “Stupid Earn.”
Sarawat isn’t normally the one to go to a place with many people. He hates concerts, social gatherings, and parties, especially parties. All his friends know how much he despises parties– stupid people getting drunk and couples kissing in the corner and it’s so unbelievably cliché in all the worst ways possible. Honestly? He’d rather spend his Saturday in his apartment to study or play his guitar than to be here in a house packed with tipsy and sweaty people.
So why was he here, exactly?
Because of Earn.
Earn’s been his best friend for as long as he could remember; bonding over music and their very much gayness towards the same gender. Earn was the first one to tell him, though. They were in high school and Earn told him that she met this pretty girl that made her fall in love instantly, despite knowing absolutely nothing about her. When Sarawat told her that it made no sense, all she said was, “It’s true love no matter what your pessimistic ass says!”
Whatever.
Sarawat, though, knew pretty much from when he was a kid that he’s attracted to boys. While he and Earn were hanging out in a café, he casually told her, “I’m gay” and she replied that it was very obvious he wasn’t hiding that. Nothing changed after that; their friendship only got deeper with the fact that they understood each other better now.
He’d do anything for Earn, really. Out of all his dumbass friends, she’s the only one who has a semi-functioning braincell (except when it comes to girls, that’s when she becomes dumb and flustered). She’s done many things for him than he can count, so when she asked him for a favor earlier today, asking him to accompany him somewhere, he had no choice but to agree.
He wished he hadn’t.
“Sarawat, come to this party with me. Sarawat, I won’t leave you alone.” Sarawat mockingly repeats the words Earn had told him over the phone hours ago. He scoffs, eyebrow twitching as more people bumped into him. “Not even two minutes in the party and she left me alone, for god’s sake. Such a pain.”
Sarawat groans, scrunching his nose in disgust when the scent of sweat and strong cologne filled his nostrils. He gagged, putting his hand over his nose and mouth, wanting nothing more than to kill Earn and leave this stupid party. The people here are annoying and gives him a headache and he’d do anything just to leave right now. But he has an obligation to his best friend and he saw her downing drinks when they arrived so he has to be responsible for getting her irritating ass home.
Sarawat sighs again. If only he didn’t care about her so much– then he’d leave her here already.
Sarawat finally managed to squeeze through crowds of sweaty bodies and find himself a decent corner with just enough space for an introvert like him with no puke (unlike all the other corners filled with them) whatsoever. He pushes himself against the corner, trying to make himself as small as possible, just watching everyone else in this godforsaken party jump and sing along to the music that’s playing on the speakers. He takes another sip of his cup, feeling the bitter taste slide down his throat and making him wish he’s at home instead; maybe playing with the chords on his guitar, or maybe work on that love song he’s trying hard to finish.
Sarawat shakes his head in sadness. He’s been working on that song for so long. The chords were right, the melody was good, but the lyrics are terrible and his friends make sure to remind him of that everyday.
“Oh come on, Sarawat!” Man exclaims when Sarawat plays his song again, the lyrics not quite fitting with the good harmony. “Haven’t you been in love before? Why do your lyrics sound so forced?”
Sarawat groans and places his guitar to the side. “I haven’t, okay?! How about you guys help me for once?!”
Boss shakes his head. “No can do. You need to do that on your own if you want to call it your song.”
He loves and hates his friends so much.
He’s glad that his friends want him to succeed in writing his own song and all, but he’s so infuriated because he knows the reason why they won’t help him is because they’re lazy asses. Boss has definitely been in relationships before, and Man is currently in a relationship now! They know what it’s like to be in love and yet they don’t tell or help him at all! It’s obvious that they’re messing with him and Sarawat hates it so much.
“Earn, I swear to god if you don’t answer your phone I’ll never do any favors for you again.” Sarawat hisses as he takes out his phone and dials Earn’s number, pressing it to his ear when it started ringing.
After three rings or so, Earn finally picked up. “Okay, listen, I’m sorry–”
“I’m sorry?!” Sarawat screeches, his tone filled with disbelief and exasperation. “Earn, you told me you wouldn’t leave me alone! You know I don’t like parties!”
“I know, I know.” Earn placates, sounding apologetic but that didn’t help lessen the complete annoyance Sarawat feels right now. “It’s just... okay, there’s this girl–”
Sarawat groans in indignation, knowing exactly why Earn asked him to come along to this party now. “You asked me to violate my own boundaries for a girl?!”
Earn laughs sheepishly, having been caught. “Well, yeah. But you don’t understand, Sarawat! She’s the girl from high school!”
Sarawat’s eyes widen in shock, instantly familiar with the girl she’s talking about. “The girl... from the music club?”
As Sarawat mentioned before, Earn met a girl before and fell in love at first sight. They met at a music club, shook hands, and that’s pretty much it. But that encounter meant so much more to Earn, who’s a romantic at heart, and she tried to be friends with the girl the next day but the girl suddenly disappeared. She searched for her everywhere, sometimes with Sarawat’s help, but it was no use. A year of doing that made him think that Earn would probably be tired and give up.
Well, she didn’t.
“This is my chance!” Earn exclaims, happiness seeping through her voice and Sarawat feels all the anger vanish in his bones. He just sighs in faint exasperation and fondness as Earn continues very enthusiastically. “I actually met her now! Her name is Pear! Pear! It’s such a cute name, right?! Just like how she’s cute!”
Sarawat shakes his head slightly, mumbling along in agreement because yeah, he may be annoyed that he’s here but his friend’s happiness makes it a bit worth it. “Yeah, sure.”
“If I play my cards right, I might be able to get her number!” Earn gushes out, excitement and joy laced in her tone. “A year, Sarawat! I waited for this moment for a year! It’ll finally come true!”
Sarawat was about to reply, probably say something about how whipped she was, but then someone stepped on his foot and he feels air leave his body for a moment when a body crashed into his, making him drop his phone and drink on the ground. Sarawat curses as the guy’s hair was pushed to his face, forcing him catch a whiff of the horrible smell everyone in this party has merged together–
Wait.
Sarawat furrows his brows when something more... pleasant, fills his nose. Vanilla, he thought idly, the scent calming his tense nerves, not that overpowering but just right to make Sarawat’s head go dizzy from it. The guy smells like vanilla.
The guy immediately steps away from him, and oh gosh everything felt like a movie from the way the guy’s head turned to look at him, in slow motion, his hair flying to the side along with his head. Sarawat feels all breath leave his lungs when he was met with the most gorgeous boy ever.
“I’m so sorry!” The guy explains in a rush, eyes wide in surprise and his face conjuring up to an apologetic one. “I didn’t see you there and I was having too much fun–”
Sarawat couldn’t seem to keep up with what he was saying, couldn’t even hear the music anymore as everything around him darkened and blurred and the guy in front of him was the only one giving him light.
In that moment, Sarawat realized four things.
One, his hair; it looked impossibly soft and velvety, and Sarawat wondered what it’d be like to run his fingers through those brownish locks. It was obviously gelled, but it seems to have gotten in disarray when he bumped into him. Curls over his brows, he looked so mysterious and enchanting, a combination the guy seemed to pull off so perfectly.
Second, his lips. They were tinged pink and looked glossy (possibly from the drinks) and they were so full. Sarawat follows them, how they opened and closed to form words, sentences that were lost to him the more he stared at the attractive curves of his mouth. Sarawat thinks, with his eyes mesmerized on the stranger’s lips, if they were as soft and as kissable as they looked. He wanted to trace his fingers or his own mouth on the smooth skin, to confirm if it’s just an illusion or a reality.
Third, he has such pretty eyes; something so unearthly and diaphanous. With pupils wide and so, very brown, it made Sarawat want to protect those irises, to see only happiness fill them up, not with any other negative emotion whatsoever. Oddly, he feels as if his heart will be broken into two if there comes a time where tears fill up those eyes, those strangely delicate and translucent eyes that twinkled under the dim lights of the place, shining like actual stars, stars that Sarawat found in his eyes. They looked pure– so pretty and reflective and just beautiful. It makes his heart beat faster, incredibly rapid and hard at the appealing sight that’s been given to him, bestowed upon him by pure luck.
Lastly, he now gets why Earn fell in love all at once, even with no knowledge of the person whatsoever. That’s what’s happening to him at this moment and gosh, did he already mention how pretty the stranger’s eyes are?
“– again, I’m so sorry.” Sarawat finally managed to get back to his senses, hearing another apology stumble from the boy’s graceful lips. He stares at the action, absolutely enthralled, as those lips curve up into the most attractive frown Sarawat has ever seen before. “Are you okay?”
Sarawat blinks owlishly, trying to process the words, getting it to his non-functioning brain, making sense of what’s happening, of the moment that just causes the stranger to frown even deeper, his bottom lip jutting out to a pout, his brows furrowed as he leans in towards him, towards Sarawat’s personal bubble. “Hello? Are you alright?”
“Yes.” Sarawat sputtered out, blinking repeatedly as he looks down, away from the boy’s gaze, away from his spellbinding eyes that draws Sarawat closer to him. “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
“You dropped your phone.” He points out, kneeling down to grab it. “I’ll get it for you–”
“No, it’s fine–”
Their heads clacked as they both crouched to reach it. Sarawat reached his hand up to touch the spot where their heads clashed, slowly tilting his head up at the boy and seeing him do the same.
That seems to be a very bad idea.
Sarawat had just regained his ability to breathe, but it seems pretty useless now because the more he stares deeply into the guy’s eyes, the more he feels as if he’s been punched in the gut from how much his breath is taken away. Up close like this, Sarawat can see the specks and strands of brown in his eyes, shimmering and bright in the dark room, snatching everything away from Sarawat– his breath, his heart, his brain capacity’s to work– with how clear and filled with emotion they are. The more he looks, the more he actually falls for this stranger who just stepped on his feet and bumped into him. Upon very close inspection, he sees a tiny reflection of himself in those brown specks; looking obviously dumbstruck and disheveled.
Well, at least he looks exactly like what he feels.
When he thought he couldn’t be any more enchanted, the guy’s lips curl up into a stunning grin, causing Sarawat’s head to go haywire and his heart to thump very loudly through his chest and ears. He wonders if the boy could hear it. “Interesting.” The boy purrs, brows raised suggestively, brown eyes sparkling with mischief, grin getting wider and showing off his perfect white teeth. “Can you help me?”
“Help you with what?” Sarawat is glad his voice doesn’t come out all high and squeaky. He must not let this boy know the effect he has on him and how breathless he is just from being this close with him. He could be straight, for all Sarawat knows!
“I lost something.” The guy drawls out, and Sarawat must be imagining the way his gaze turns more seductive, with interest and fascination while looking at him. That couldn’t be real, could it? “Can you help me find it?”
“What–” Sarawat pauses, cringing at the way his voice comes out all short-winded and out of breath because he is. He’s so undeniably breathless from this stranger being too close to him like this, staring at him with pure attentiveness, like he was someone special. Like he wasn’t some dust compared to this guy who’s like the stars. “What did you lose?”
“My number.” The guy replies immediately, his seductive grin turning more cheeky. “Can I have yours?”
Sarawat just about short-circuits; his heart beating quickly and his mind all over the place and his insides turning to actual jelly. Internally, he’s screaming and flailing and wondering how he’d be able to reply to that. He doesn’t know what to think or how to act or do anything at all in the presence of this magnificent boy who seems to have already found his way to his heart and clutch it tightly with his hands.
“Well?” The stranger prods, face open and interested, his eyes hopeful for an reply. “Are you going to answer or–”
The moment was disrupted by his phone ringing between them. The boy’s attention went on the screen and Sarawat curses when he saw Earn’s name flashing on it. He saw a spark of disappointment glint in the boy’s expression and Sarawat just about breaks and he doesn’t even know why he wants to clear up his misinterpretation of Earn or whatever thoughts he’s having between them as fast as possible. “Oh.” He whispers, sounding very small and upset. Sarawat has never wanted to kill Earn more so in this moment. “You– um... your... friend, is calling.”
Sarawat wants to hit something– that something being specifically Earn– from how frustrated he is right now. He takes his phone from the ground and declines the call, shoving it in his pocket as he stands up. He scrambles to find the right words, the right thing to say to make the boy understand that there isn’t anything at all between them– but he can’t. He can’t utter anything at all while the boy stands up and gives him a friendly smile, so far from the flirty expression he had on earlier, then holds his hand out. “I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable. I’m Tine.”
Tine, Sarawat repeats in his mind as he shakes the guy’s hand, entranced, captivated, entirely hypnotized by the way he scratches the back of his head sheepishly and offers an apologetic smile. What a cute name.
Wait.
Sarawat blinks, his words sinking in his mind.
Wait, no!
“You didn’t make me uncomfortable at all!” Sarawat explains as quick as he could, wanting to say so many things at once to make the boy– Tine, he means– understand that he very much likes him and his flirting. “I– uh, you’re very... you are– um...”
Sarawat scrambles to find the right words, stammering and tripping all over himself in a frantic attempt to explain the situation clearly. His cheeks flame with embarrassment, and he wants to die so bad because his stupid mouth keeps humiliating himself in front of this gorgeous boy. Sarawat internally curses himself. Why can’t he bring himself to act just a little bit normal? Why? Why?!
“Sarawat!” He hears someone yell. He just about sneers when he turns his head to the side, seeing Earn wave and smile at him, obliviously not noticing the harsh look on Sarawat’s face as she pushed through bodies of people to get close to him.
Earn, this is not a good time right now. Sarawat tries to convey through his eyes, trying to shoo her away as much as possible. But she doesn’t seem to notice as she only goes closer, destroying any chance Sarawat has with the boy next to him.
“I guess that’s my cue to leave.” Tine laughs, but Sarawat can sense the underlying disappointment in his tone. Sarawat looks back at him desperately, catching his sad smile as he starts to walk away. “Nice meeting you, Sarawat.” Sarawat’s heart stuttered in his throat at the way the boy said his name, goosebumps trailing all over his skin at how right his name sounds on the boy’s tongue. It’s like Sarawat didn’t appreciate his name enough before Tine said it– making him feel all different levels of flustered and giddy and happiness.
It was a brief and fleeting feeling though because Tine was walking back to his friends again, getting lost in the crowd once more.
Sarawat feels as if he’s been ripped off of the warmth Tine’s body radiated– the emotions he made him feel, the fascination, the absolute attraction. He’s never had such a powerful-like connection with anyone just from the first meeting, but Tine is different. He’s very different. He makes Sarawat want to know more about him, to get to be friends with his own friends, to take multiple pictures of his goddamn smile, to spend an entire lifetime with him. He wants all that with him; wants everything about a complete stranger he shares this strange but strong connection with.
“Hey, Sarawat!” He hears Earn’s voice again. He scowls at her.
“I’m sorry, okay!” Earn mutters, rubbing the spot on her shoulder on where Sarawat punched it. “I didn’t know you were talking to the guy!”
“Well, I was!” Sarawat snapped, taking another sip of his cup in annoyance. “Thanks for ruining it, by the way.”
His voice was cranky and laced with a venom he almost never uses. Sarawat didn’t care that it must’ve sounded rude and uncaring because Earn just annihilated the best moment of his life by disrupting him to talk about the girl she found. Honestly, out of all the times Earn chooses to bother him, why did she have to pick that specific moment?! Sarawat was so close to giving his number and possibly talk to Tine more before Earn crushed his chances of ever meeting him again! He has a right to be upset as he is right now at her because he’s honestly so tired and irritated, and that boy was the only one that gave him energy in that short encounter!
The two of them were still leaning on the corner, the same corner Tine bumped into him to, the same corner where Sarawat felt feelings he’s never felt before. Sarawat’s arms were crossed over his chest, a half-empty cup in his hand, an infuriated scowl on his lips and a dangerous glare in his gaze. He looks over the crowd, trying to spot the beautiful boy he found, but it was all in vain because he can’t find him anywhere. He probably left already, and that thought makes Sarawat scowl even harder and his insides twist painfully.
Stupid Earn. Sarawat will never stop hating her for all of eternity.
“Why are you so affected by that boy?” Earn grumbles, raising her hands in surrender when Sarawat gave her a glare. “I’m just saying! You hate people and parties, so why were you talking to someone in this party anyways?”
Sarawat mutters something underneath his breath, something incoherent and low enough that Earn didn’t get to hear. Earn leans closer to him. “Huh?”
Sarawat groans insufferably, wanting nothing more than to bang his head repeatedly on the wall. “He’s the one, okay?!” Sarawat feels his cheeks start to heat, probably blushing a furious red. “I... he–” Sarawat pinches the bridge of his nose, trying his best to put these emotions into words, something coherent and direct, but he can’t. Gosh, the effect Tine has on him, and they didn’t even talk for long!
Sarawat looks at Earn, seeing her patient and open face, a tinge of curiosity shining in her eyes. Sarawat softens. Even if he’s being an asshole to her, she’s still a great friend and Sarawat wouldn’t trade her for anything else. He breathes out a small breath, his voice becoming softer but still loud enough for Earn to hear. “He, well... he’s my Pear.”
The moment those words came out, Sarawat closes his eyes, already knowing what Earn’s reaction will be. She’s smart, and she’ll easily get what he means just by saying that. He opens his eyes just in time to see confusion settle in Earn’s features before her mouth formed an ‘O’ shape, eyes wide and grin knowing and shit-eating. She starts to jump up and down with energy, her fingernails digging on Sarawat’s shoulders enough to hurt and make him yelp in pain. “You should’ve told me, then!”
“I didn’t get the chance to!”
“I can’t believe this, I can’t believe this!” Earn gushes, smirking at Sarawat and holding her cheeks in her hands. “You told me before that it made no sense! It isn’t so impossible now that you’ve experienced it, huh?!”
“Earn.” Sarawat groans, running a hand down the side of his face. “I really want to meet him again.” Sarawat admits embarrassingly, his blush still not leaving his cheeks. But it’s true– he really wants to meet Tine again and get to talk to him more and see more of his gorgeous smile. This feeling of liking him is just too much, too extreme for Sarawat to ever ignore.
He wants– no, needs to meet him again.
“What are you waiting for, then?!” Earn shouts, pushing him to the crowd. Sarawat squawks in surprise, accidentally dropping his drink on the floor, eyes wide in confusion at her. Earn gestures at him to go, a supportive look on her face. “Find him, now! He’s probably still here, go get him!”
Sarawat couldn’t bring himself to be pessimistic as a rush of determination coursed through his veins. He grinned at her, muttering a “Thank you” before going through the crowd, trying his goddamn best to search for that boy who filled him up with indescribable emotions once more. As he shuffles and pushes through the sea of people, an upbeat song started to fill in the air. A song that made Sarawat’s blood pump even harder, more intent to do whatever it takes to see that beautiful smile again.
He’s going to find him.
The one that I came with
She had to go
But you look amazing
Standing alone
“Excuse me.” Sarawat mutters, standing on his toes to see a familiar mop of brown hair. So far, he sees none. Sarawat curses underneath his breath but nevertheless ploughed on, doing his best to look for the boy who he just... clicked with. Sarawat knows he isn’t alone in feeling the connection– the sparks lingering in the air, the struck of wonder when their faces were inches away, the enchanting way their eyes met...
Call Sarawat crazy, but that encounter is just too damn special to let go easily.
Sarawat looked around even more, urgently, outright desperate to have those captivating brown eyes link with his once more. He wants to see him so bad, wants to be flirted by him again and see his teasing grin and the way his eyes sparkle.
Please, please.
Sarwat stops, groaning loudly and running his fingers through his hair.
What’s the point?
His shoulders slumped, a defeated feeling taking over him. There’s no way they’ll get to meet again. It was only a one-chance encounter; something he definitely won’t have with him again. Maybe they just weren’t right for each other, maybe it isn’t meant to be after all. Would Sarawat end up searching for the boy for a year too, like Earn had with Pear? Would Sarawat have to deal with these passionate feelings for a whole fucking year, not knowing if he’ll get to meet the boy again or not?
Sarawat swallows a lump in his throat. This is stupid. Why’d he even get his hopes up for something that was as short-lived as that magical moment he spent with Tine? Did Tine even feel the way Sarawat feels with him, or was it all an act?
Is Sarawat making this all up in his head, the way Tine seemed to be interested in him too?
So come on, come on
Move a little closer now
Come on, come on
Sarawat started to walk back, physically drained and mentally tired. He can’t be here anymore. It’s no use finding for that boy amidst this huge crowd–
“Wat?”
Sarawat’s eyes widened and he quickly turns on his heel, a relieved breath escaping his lips when his eyes landed on Tine, looking confused but otherwise gorgeous.
Yes, yes.
Sarawat opened his mouth, to say something, anything, but he could only watch helplessly as Tine stepped closer to him, his eyes looking at him in curiosity but with a strange hopeful gaze that makes Sarawat think that he probably tried to find for him too. The fact that Sarawat isn’t the only one who did his best to find him and that they both did it together is something that he’ll cherish for his whole life.
Ain’t no way you’re walkin’ out
Come on, come on
Show me what you’re all about
They were both standing face to face now, just staring at each other as the music played on in the room. The people around them were dancing and bumping hard into them, but they both kept their ground as their eyes never seemed to leave from each other.
Sarawat finally smiled at him, wide enough that it was hurting his cheeks, but he paid that no mind at all as he feels himself getting lost in Tine’s eyes, a void so unbelievably large that Sarawat could spend all day looking at them, just falling and falling deeper into this hole he already dug himself into– a hole he does not want to get out of.
“I like sweet things.” Sarawat blurts out. Tine furrows his brows in confusion, titling his head adorably to the side. It takes all of Sarawat’s willpower not to worship the boy in front him, not to bring out his phone and snap a picture of him or get his number, not to be too fast but also not too slow because he really, really likes this boy. Sarawat likes the way he makes him feel butterflies in his stomach when he’s close to him like this; when they’re in each other’s safe bubble, very near to hear their even breathing in the little space between them, wondering if Tine could hear the thunderous beating of Sarawat’s heart because it’s ringing too loudly in his ears, pounding so hard he’s afraid it’ll come out of his ribcage and jump into Tine’s arms.
“Yeah?” Tine asks, a small smile on his full lips, causing Sarawat to look at nothing else but them.
“Yeah.” Sarawat whispers, stepping closer to him. Sarawat was close enough to feel Tine’s breath fanning his mouth, an intoxicating sensation that has Sarawat’s head spinning. Sarawat watches, utterly entranced, as those pretty lips part with a small puff, and all that Sarawat wants to do right now is to devour those lips and claim them, claim him in the middle of this busy room.
Sarawat has never been this greedy or has felt this much desire before– a craving so insatiable until he finally gets what he wants.
And he wants Tine.
Yeah
I’ve been watching you all night
There’s something in your eyes
Saying, “Come on, come on and dance with me baby”
“And your lips look like candy.” Sarawat continues, his heart in his throat, seeing the way Tine’s confused expression melted into one of realization. Sarawat feels absolutely gleeful when he saw the grin of mischief return on Tine’s face, his eyes lighting up with the same hunger that Sarawat feels, the air between them getting more hot and thicker as the seconds pass.
Sarawat’s eyes trail down at Tine’s appearance. He was wearing a faded pink button-up, two buttons open from the top and showing more of his pale neck, a glimpse of his collarbones, a tease of his defined pecs. Sarawat knows he’s ogling too much, too distracted in the beauty of this man that he doesn’t even notice Tine staring back at him, with a burning need in his eyes, reaching his hands up to grasp Sarawat’s hair. Sarawat finally looks back up at Tine’s eyes, surprised at the sudden movement, his breath hitching in his throat when he sees how close they were; how their lips were brushing with every breath, how the tip of their noses were touching, how Sarawat can see Tine’s eyes staring challengingly at him that his own eyes almost become crossed from how hard he’s trying to focus on Tine’s face.
Fuck.
Fuck.
Sarawat lets out a breath, his heart doing flips when their lips grazed from the action.
Tine breathes shakily, and Sarawat makes a shattering realization that he probably also feels everything as he does– this invigorating pull of their bodies, this electrifying magnetism of their touches, this arousing attraction and comprehension that they’re somehow meant to meet at this party, to be together.
Yeah
The music is so loud
I wanna be yours now
So come on, come on and dance with me baby
Sarawat waits for Tine’s reply. He said enough already, enough to show how much he likes him, to show that he’s interested and would very much want to stay here with him for as long as possible.
Neon green lights washed over them, covering every inch of Tine’s pale skin in a coruscating glow, a sight so ethereal and celestial that it was impossible for Sarawat to look away, not that he’ll ever want to do that anyways. Sarawat puts his hands on Tine’s hips, warmth immediately radiating off his skin from how right his fingers fit on his built body. He holds him, slowly leaning his forehead against Tine’s, breaths coming out more quicker, staring deeper into Tine’s eyes and pleading him to answer, to give him some sort of approval before he loses control and dives right in.
Sarawat was on the verge of insanity right now. He doesn’t care that he’ll probably have his first kiss here, with this boy he barely even knows, in a party which he doesn’t even want to be at in the first place. All he knows is that there’s no place he’d rather be, and he doesn’t mind at all that he only knows this boy’s name and how brightly he smiles and how his scent can drive anyone crazy, especially Sarawat. He’s never felt such a strong, instantaneous, vehement emotion before in his life and he thinks he’s only going to be able to feel this with no one other than Tine.
Every step I take
I feel it more and more
Sarawat tries his best to hold his gaze, to not let it linger more on Tine’s lips, to restrain himself a little longer for Tine to respond.
Tine gives nothing away, letting Sarawat suffer a little more. Sarawat opens his mouth to continue with his sweet metaphor, trying his best to handle his increasing unstableness, to do something so Tine can finally speak–
“Well,” Tine whispers, barely audible in the loud and huge room. But Sarawat catches it, holding on to every word that comes out his mouth, wanting nothing more than to know if Tine wants him like Sarawat does. If he’s trying his damnedest to control this enticing urge to connect their lips together and hold each other close and never break apart.
My heart is racing
“Why don’t you kiss me,” Tine trails off, a shiver running down Sarawat’s spine when he heard the seductive tone in his voice, the same tone he flirted him with earlier and made Sarawat a hopelessly infatuated guy with a sparkling want to see him again. Tine grins. “And see if it’s true?”
Hey
I’ve been watching you all night
Oh thank the fucking gods.
Everything faded away as their eyes closed automatically, their lips finally crashing together.
There’s something in your eyes
Saying, “Come on, come on and dance with me baby”
Holy shit.
Holy fucking shit.
Is kissing supposed to make him feel like this? To make him feel like he’s impossibly high up in the clouds but also strangely grounded that it seems like he’s stuck in between? To make him feel these destructive and complex feelings that nibbles away at his heart and soul, spreading heat all over his mind and preventing himself to have a single intelligible thought? Or maybe it isn’t kissing that’s making him like this– maybe it’s just Tine. Maybe it’s the way Tine’s lips slotted perfectly with his, the way Tine’s fingers tangled and pulled his hair, the way their chests were pressed in a flush, the way his mouth was pushing incessantly against his own.
There’s not a single trace of hesitance in the kiss, only longing and passion dripping from the movements of their mouths. Sarawat grips his hips tighter as their lips move in complete harmony, working well together even if this is their first time touching. But oh god does Sarawat yearn, hoping that in some past life or an alternate reality that Sarawat only manages to be with Tine, only gets to kiss him, to be with him.
Sarawat moans, greedily eating Tine’s lips, his heart hammering against his chest as Tine pushed back, kissing with a force to show that he isn’t backing down easily. Their lips pressed roughly, overlapping in a fight for dominance, eager mouths squeezing to deepen the kiss. Sarawat moves his head to the other side, Tine doing the same, the new angle making their kiss more deliciously amazing. Sarawat can’t help the groan that rumbled in his throat when Tine’s tongue flicked out and licked his bottom lip.
Fuck.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
I wanna be yours now
So come on, come on and dance with me baby
Tine’s lips were exactly the way Sarawat imagined them to be; soft and attractive and so damn kissable. But what Sarawat forgot to think about is the way those lips inflamed a powerful fire in the pits of Sarawat’s stomach, an addicting combination of beer and something sweet that Sarawat gets to taste. Tine kisses him expertly, like he’s had multiple experiences before, his tongue lathering Sarawat’s bottom lip with his saliva. Sarawat tries to keep his legs as steady as possible when Tine takes his lip between his teeth and bites on it.
Sarawat gasps at the sudden action, and he should’ve realized that it was exactly what Tine wanted him to do. He feels the curve of his smirk against his lips before his tongue plunged right in, their breaths intermingling, hot spit mixing together so scrumptiously, something that Sarawat hasn’t had an experience of before but knows that he very much wants more.
Tine’s tongue glides all over his mouth, exploring, prodding, licking every inch there is inside. Sarawat gasps when their tongues collided, a sensation still fairly new to Sarawat but so damn familiar and pleasant that it has him reeling. Sarawat can feel Tine’s smirk become wider, probably knowing the stimulating effect he has on him. At that, Sarawat finally fights back, tongue battling along with his, aggressively pushing more and more. He may not have kissed anyone else before but he’ll be damned if he lets his inexperience stop him from trying to give back as good as Tine gives him.
Sarawat can feel Tine being taken aback at Sarawat’s sudden fervour and energy, a moan erupting from his throat and making Sarawat cheer mentally in victory. Sarawat decided to kiss him back harder to hear more of those delightful sounds that Tine made, a goal he so desperately wants to score over and over again. Sarawat forcibly shoves Tine’s tongue back with his own, trying to gain control, but Tine is unpredictable. A light so bright and erratic that it has Sarawat’s heart aching, thirsting for the assertiveness of Tine’s mouth, still not backing down, and Sarawat thinks that he doesn’t really mind and he doesn’t really want him to.
Tine’s hands in his hair tightened, pain and pleasure mixing along with their breaths and saliva. Sarawat lets his hands wrap around Tine’s waist, pulling him unbelievably closer than they already were, uncaring of the fact that they were in a party, kissing obliviously in the middle of the people that surrounds them, lights flashing overhead and music blasting in the speakers.
Nothing else really mattered.
Oooh,
Come on, come on
Sarawat feels himself get dizzier the longer they kiss, quickly losing his breath and getting lost in this pleasure he indulges himself in. Everything about this moment is undefinably perfect, a memory that Sarawat will keep and tuck away into his mind forever. It’s the memory of meeting this beautiful boy, of his first kiss, of their first kiss. Sarawat suddenly realizes that he should thank Earn later for dragging his lazy ass to this party because he honestly thinks that he’s been searching his whole life to find someone, and that someone is Tine.
It’s odd. Sarawat is slightly drunk from the beers he had and from Tine’s lips, he’s shamelessly making out with Tine in the huge room, and it’s so cliché in all the worst ways possible. They’re doing everything Sarawat said he despised earlier in a party which he said hated.
And he loves it.
Oooh,
Come on, come on
And dance with me baby
After almost an eternity of kissing, they finally pulled away for air.
Sarawat panted heavily, inhaling in huge breaths of air as if it’s his first time breathing it. He opens his eyes slowly, dazedly looking at Tine, who was already looking back at him. He looks down at his plump lips, bruised and swollen. Idly, Sarawat thinks, I did that.
He feels a faint flutter rise in his chest when those lips curl up in a grin, eyes staring at him in wonder and awe. Sarawat swallows a lump in his throat as his heart started to beat uncontrollably once more.
Tine brushes a stray lock of his hair to the side, leaving warm touches all over Sarawat’s face. He lets his palm rest on his cheek. “You sure know how to kiss someone ‘till they drop, don’t you?” He teases, and Sarawat bursts out in laughter at the irony. They both laughed, uncaring of the weird glances thrown their way. But Sarawat doesn’t care at all because he’s found something– someone. Someone really special, someone he plans to get to know more of and probably let into his life.
This tingling feeling in his bones makes him strangely happy, as if he can do anything and nothing will stop him. He feels like he can go to multiple parties now, probably ace the exam he’ll have next week, maybe even write that song he’s trying hard to finish. Nothing seemed impossible anymore now that he’s been blessed enough to be gifted with meeting this boy and getting to kiss him all in a span of one night.
“You know,” Sarawat says, smiling widely at Tine with flushed cheeks. “No one has ever called me Wat before.”
Tine looks at him in surprise, before his cheeks started to blush and a soft smile took over his lips. “I’m honored.”
Sarawat tightens his hold around Tine’s waist, letting his head fall on his shoulder, his smile not leaving his face as Tine’s vanilla scent filled up his nostrils once more. “I’m glad you’re the first.”
And he really hopes he’ll be the last.
