Chapter 1: so the battle ends

Chapter Text

The battle had been going on for days.

Eleven days give or take-everybody stopped counting once the fourth day past, they were too busy trying to stay alive and re-locate. Couting the dead and alive, saving civilians who had some how survived the first blast that destroyed half of the city.

By the time the sixth day past the whole city was destroyed, hero's and villian's going face to face fighting with everything they got, desprate to save what was left. But the thing is nothing was left to save-not anymore at least.

Once the eighth day past you could see the hero's who remined hope vanish, comunication became strained- too painful to speak, it was like the more they talked the more reality sunk in. At this point both sides numbers were dropping as all that was left was mindless nomu's and greif stricken hero's.

Tenth day check mark passed and mere a hand full of fighter from both sides were left. Only the strongest remind by this point, and by the end of that day there was only three.

After 264 hours of struggle only three lasted to the eleventh day. And so for those last 31 hours the final fight commenced.

It was brutal, bloody, unlike any fight that had even been seen before. A constant struggle from both sides. With Shigiraki taking full advantage of the two hero's relationship-knowing they both worried over each other- while deku and ground zero went above all their limitations. The battle in one word was horrifing; bones were snapped, limbs were ripped off, crudely wrapped wounds were re-opend and everything was free game.

The runes of Japan became there play ground anything and everything they could find became a weapon, not matter how un-moral it was. By then all morals had been thrown out the window, now all that was left was the un-deniable need to win-to survive.

At the end all that was left was a flattend waste land that was once japan and three boodies-one dead with the other two slowly following and the feeling of guilt hanging heavy.

Staggering backwards Bakugou finally allows himself a moment to think clearly without the overwhelming surge of adreniline keeping him on his feet for all this time. Desprately trying to catch his breath he adds up his injuries: broken ribs, posssible internal bleeding, multiple stab wounds, left wrist fractured, bruised jaw and slash wound on his back.

All in all he looked shit, and from a quick glance to izuku he wasnt doing too hot either.

His bones were broken so much in his arms that they looked like they were nothing but lumps of meat and from the way he keeps shifting his weight to his right leg its safe to assume izuku's left leg is broken-or at the very least fractured. Unlike him Izuku had much less injuries from shigiraki, most of his injuries were self sustaimed from going all out with one for all. After all these years Izuku had managed to utilise his body to one for all so that he could go to one hundred percent, and even above that when he needed to, with out causing his body any harm.

However after using his quirk for so long it was only a matter of time before Izuku's body snapped under the weight of it.

If it was any other situation Bakugou would have actually been impressed Izuku had managed to break his bones under the pressure of all for one's power again like back when they were in high school.

If it was any other situation he would have laughed as he told his nerd that his un-canny ability to break his bones left right and center may be making a suprise visit again. They would have laugh as they cuddled up close on there sofa as they ate food from the small family run take away resurant down the road from their apartment while watching some nextflix show in the background.

If it was any other situation Bakugou could deal with that. So why is it that they lie here in a city that was once there home that's now left in ruble waiting as death swallowed them up.

A broken laugh snaps Bakugou out of his spiriling thoughts ''look kaachan you can see the stars so clearly now''. Head lolling to his right were the love of Bakugou's life lied next to him exhaustion seeminly finaly catching up to Izuku too.

Normally due to Japans constant bright lights and never ending busyness you can never really see the stars, even on the clearest of nights. Yet tonight with everything for miles in sight destroyed the stars illuminate beautifully bright, projecting a dazziling show of colours against their battered boodies, the sight is enough to leave you breathless as you stare into its infinite mass. Yet tragiclly this performance is only seen by an audience of two.

''Say kaachan, do you think everyone is up there in with the stars looking down at us ?'' Izuku's voice was getting fainter as his own strenght slowly diminished yet the unmistakable unsteadness in his voice made Bakugou strain to keep his heavy eyes open longer.

'' 'zuku...'' he managed to chroke out, voice dry and lost from days of shouting over the chaos around them.

Izuku lifted himself up just enough to look down at Bakugou without hurting himself any further. The night sky behind him casted a lumnous shine around Izuku's body, making him look like an angel, though in Bakugou's eyes he already was one regardless.

Slowly the saddest smile Bakugou had ever seen travelled across Izuku's face as clear tears dropped out of his pain-filled green eyes ''im so glad that at the end you are by my side kaachan, im so glad your the last face i get to see, im so glad i got to love you''.

And in that very moment Bakugou realised that this was single handedly the most comforting and heart reanching moment he had every been in. His heart squeezed as Izuku hovared above him slightly looking too perfect and at peace with his slowly dying self, imediatly Bakugou wanted to wipe that look of his face, to gather him up in his arms and wisper sweet nothings in Izuku's ear. Anything to take that look of his face, anything to keep the all too excepting look in his eye's far away.

Instead all he could muster was a weak ''i love you'' before chapped lips were planted onto of his own as the world faded to black.

His last sight being the green emeralds he had spent countless years getting lost in and a oh so sad smile.
