Summary:

*The first book is currently being rewritten so this books is on pause*
Book 2 of A Cat and her Hero. Please read the first book if you haven't already!

Koneko's still struggling after the villain attack and now they have to prepare for a sports festival. If she does well she can get scouted. In all the chaos Katsuki seems to be getting closer, how long will their bet stand?

Notes:

Welcome to book 2! This first chapter is really long and kinda got out of hand but oh well.

Just in case you forgot here's Koneko's family and quirks again.

Ayumi's quirk is a healing quirk. The more intimately she touches someone the better the result.
Toshiro's father has a copy quirk. He can copy objects that he touches.
Anzu, has a metamorphosis quirk. She can copy someone's appearance by touching them. Just like her mother, the more intimately she touches someone the longer she has their appearance.
Koneko has a copy quirk. She can copy someone's quirk by touching them. The strength and time depend on how intimately she touches the person.
Eiko, has the same quirk as their mother.

Chapter 1: The Aftermath

Chapter Text

I should have expected my mother’s reaction when I got back but I didn’t. Katsuki walked me to my house then headed home himself. I opened the door ready to get some food and go to bed. Instead I was greeted by Mom and Eiko’s questions. I stepped back in surprise.

“Koneko, we were so worried. Are you alright?” Eiko asked, quickly searching for any injury.

“I’m fine. Just tired and hungry.” I pushed passed them and into the kitchen.

“Are you sure?” Mom followed me. “I should call that school and give them a piece of my mind. You shouldn’t be allowed back at that school, if they can’t protect their students you can’t go.”

I dropped the container I was holding and turned around. “What?”

“If the school can’t protect you then you can’t go back.” Mom reached over and picked the container up.

“But where would I go? All the schools have already started.” I protested.

“I’m sure we could find somewhere.”

“No, I worked so hard to get in. I can’t just leave!”

“There are plenty of schools out there that have hero courses that are just as good as UA’s.”

“And those take a select few students too. I applied and got into UA. I worked hard for this, I won’t leave.” I stepped in front of her. “I won’t abandon my dream because a few villains got in the way. That’s my job as a hero, to fight villains, to protect others.”

“But you’re still a kid. You’re not a hero yet. You don’t need to put yourself in danger.” Mom’s ears flattened. “I just want you to be safe.”

“If you wanted me to be safe you shouldn’t of encouraged my dream to be a hero,” I whispered. “I’m going to bed.”

I turned and walked to my room. I jumped on to my bed and buried my face in the pillow. I reached for my phone and before I knew what I was doing I had pressed call on Katsuki’s number. He picked up after a few rings.

“Hello?”

“Hey,” my voice was soft.

“What’s wrong?” He knew instantly.

“Mom’s talking about taking me out of UA.” I murmured.

“What? Why?” He exclaimed.

“Because we were attacked by villains.” Tears filled my eyes. “She wants to send me to another school.”

“Heroes deal with villains all the time. She knows that.”

“I don’t think she wants me to be a hero,” I whispered.

“She’s telling you to give up on your dream?”

“She didn’t say to directly but that’s what it felt like.” I curled up on my bed.

“Do you…” He hesitated. “Do you want me to come over?”

“You need to rest.” Despite my answer, my tail flicked in excitement. “You’ve had a long day.”

“You’ve had a long day too. Perhaps more than the rest of us.”

I curled my tail. “What do you mean?”

“You probably didn’t notice but you were on edge the entire time during the fight.”

“Of course I was, we were in a fight.”

“No, you were scared, terrified, as if you were worried about something going wrong. And then when we got the news on Mr. Aizawa you broke down. Koneko, something’s wrong, I can tell, why don’t you tell me?”

I almost broke, I almost confessed everything. Anzu, Tomura, Rekka, everything. “I can’t, it’s not your burden to bear.”

Katsuki sighed. “Alright, I’m here if you ever want to tell me.”

I heard shouting on his end of the line.

“I’m coming, give me a minute!” He yelled back.

I winced. “What’s happening?”

“I left in the middle of dinner when I saw your number. The old hag’s mad.”

I laughed softly. “You shouldn’t call her that. She’ll get even more mad.”

“Well she acts like it.” He huffed.

“Still…You should probably go.” I didn’t want to get off the phone. “Katsu,”

“Yeah?”

“Thank you, for everything. I—” The words were on the tip of my tongue.

“What?”

“Never mind. You should go.” I flattened my ears.

“Goodnight Neko,”

“Goodnight Katsu,” I whispered and hung up.

I stared at my lock screen for a while before I fell asleep. If only sleep came easy…

I sat up gasping. I reached for my lamp, knocking a few things off before turning it on. I checked my phone, 4 am. Not super early. I could get some homework done before going on a run. I climbed out of bed and sat down at my desk. I pulled my homework out of my backpack and stared at it. Memories of yesterday kept flooding in. Tomura’s threat echoed in my head. Mom’s words about taking me out of UA. Tears filled my eyes, I didn’t want to leave UA. I worked so hard to get here. A few tears dripped onto the paper, I quickly tried to dry them.

“I guess I shouldn’t cry and do homework.” I laughed to myself.

I got up, walked to the bathroom, and washed my face. I went back and started on my homework. I finally finished around 5:30. I glanced at my phone Katsuki might be up but I didn’t want to wake him if he wasn’t. I got up, changed clothes, left a note for my parents, and left the house. I only meant to run for about half an hour but I stopped by the treehouse. I watched the sunrise from one of the top branches. When I climbed back down I ran into someone.

“Oh,” I froze. “I didn’t know you’d be here.”

“I was on a run,” Izuku said.

“Yeah same, I was watching the sunrise.” I nodded towards the tree. “Um, how are you feeling?”

“Huh? Oh!” He smiled. “I’m doing great, Recovery Girl patched me up well.”

“That’s good,” I managed a smile.

“Hey Koneko, are you okay? Something seems off.” He frowned.

“Oh, Mom was talking about taking me out of UA. I’m worried she might do it.” I looked down.

“Take you out of UA? After you worked so hard?” Izuku gasped. “I’ll get my mom to talk to her. Mom didn’t want me to get hurt either but she saw how hard I worked.”

“Do you think she can convince her? My Mom’s pretty stubborn.”

“Well my Mom is pretty persistent.”

I laughed. “Thank Izuku,”

“Hey Deku, what do you think you’re doing here?”

Izuku and I turned to find Katsuki running up. I smiled at him.

“Katsuki, I guess we all had the same idea.” I felt some of the stress and fear leave my body just by seeing him.

Katsuki threw a glare at Izuku before looking over at me. “I guess we did.”

“Um, I actually need to get back.” Izuku gave a nervous smile.

“Oh see you tomorrow Izuku.” I waved.

“Yeah see you!” He smiled and left.

I watched him go then turned back to Katsuki. He had relaxed now that Izuku had left. I nudged his shoulder. He looked down at me.

“You don’t have to be so mean to Izuku. He’s only trying to be nice.”

“I don’t like it when he’s close to you.” Katsuki didn’t meet my gaze.

“Are you jealous?” I asked incredulously.

“No!” He looked away.

“I think you are.” I leaned around to get a look at his face.

“I’m not!” He pushed me away.

“Your ears are red. You’re embarrassed.” I grinned.

He glared at me. “So what if I am? What does it matter?”

“It means you like me.” I sang. “You really like me.”

“Neko, I’m gonna kill you.” He growled.

“You have to catch me first.” I ran off.

“Get back here!” He ran after me.

I laughed and dashed across the street. We continued this game of tag until we got to my house. I leaped over the fence and was tackled to the ground. Katsuki straddled my hips, he leaned down.

“I got you,” he whispered in my ear.

“You did. Well done.” I panted. “And you should probably get off me before someone sees us.”

“Too late.”

I looked up, Eiko was leaning out of her window.

“I’m telling Mom you were out.”

“Hey!” I sat up, knocking Katsuki off me. “I left a note. This is normal!”

“It’s not normal to have a boy straddling you in the front yard.” She called back.

“It’s not what it looks like!” I yelled. “Sorry Katsu, I have to handle this.” I leaned over, kissed his cheek, and ran off. “Eiko!” I ran up the stairs, I found her in our parent's bedroom. “Okay, I don’t know what she told you but I can explain.”

Mom looked over at me. “Explain what? Eiko was just telling me you were back from your run.”

I opened and closed my mouth. “What?”

Eiko grinned at me. “Mom was asking where you were so I told her.”

“Did something happen Koneko?” Mom asked.

“Nope,” I shook my head. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go shower.”

I turned and walked back down the stairs. I glanced outside and saw that Katsuki was still out there, face flushed. I cocked my head and walked outside.

“Hey Katsuki, what are you still doing here? You could have gone home.”

Katsuki looked up at me, he was still sitting where I had thrown him. “What? Oh, I uh forgot.”

I knelt next to him. “You good? You’re not acting like yourself.”

“I’m fine.” His cheeks were red.

“Are you sure—Oh.” I blushed as I realized what I did. “I uh didn’t mean to do that.”

“So why’d you do it?” He tried to sound annoyed.

“Instinct?” I looked down. “I don’t know.”

“Whatever,” he scoffed. “I need to go now.”

“Yeah,” I stood up and offered him a hand.

He glared at me and knocked it away. I rolled my eyes.

“I was just trying to be nice.”

“I can get up on my own. I’m not weak.” He muttered.

“Not physically, but you’re definitely weak emotionally. For me.” I winked at him.

“You little—I’m going to kill you!” He lunged at me.

I laughed and blocked his blast with another explosion. I jumped backward, dodging another punch. I leaped over him and tapped his back. He whipped around and I booped his nose. He made a strange noise in protest but before he could reach me I had moved away again. Katsuki made another grab for me and I dodged, laughing.

“You can’t get me. I’m too quick.” I stuck my tongue out at him.

“Where was all this speed in our previous matches?” He raised a brow.

“Hidden away. This is my true form.” My tail twitched in excitement.

“True form.” He laughed. “I think your true form is just a cat.”

“I’m only part cat.” I dodged another grab.

“Really? I never noticed.” He tried again.

I dodged it but he managed to grab my tail. I yelped and froze.

“H-hey!” I squeaked. “That’s unfair.”

He grinned and leaned close. “I got you.”

I shivered. “L-let me go.”

He let go but grabbed my wrists instead. Our breathing was labored, filling the air between us with heat. I stared into his crimson eyes. I slid my gaze down to his lips. It would be so easy to kiss him. He wouldn’t stop me, I knew it. He wanted it just as much as me. Only our bet and his pride were stopping him.

“Why do you do this to me?” He murmured.

“We could forget the bet you know?” I whispered. “Just for this moment, it wouldn’t count.”

“I know what you’re doing.” He didn’t pull away.

“Is it working?” I leaned closer.

“Damn it,” he cursed.

“Hey lovebirds!”

I had never seen Katsuki move faster than at this moment. In seconds he was a respectable distance away. I blinked in surprise. Eiko laughed from the porch.

“I thought you said you were showering?” She asked me.

“I was going to but I…” I trailed off.

“You got distracted.” She finished.

“Yeah,” I fidgeted.

“Dad made breakfast.” She looked over at Katsuki. “You want to invite your boyfriend in?”

Katsuki bristled. “She’s not—we’re not dating!”

“Keep telling yourself that buddy.” She walked back inside.

I looked over at Katsuki. “You um want to come inside?”

He glanced at the door. “I think I should go home.”

“I’ll uh see you later?” I averted my gaze.

“Yeah if not then tomorrow morning.” He walked towards the gate.

“See ya,” I smiled.

He gave me a small smile then ran off. I walked back inside and shut the door. I rested my head against the door for a moment. I took a deep breath. How many times had I been that close to kissing him? Too many times to count. This bet was going to end before I knew it. I walked to my bathroom and took a quick shower. I walked into the kitchen.

“Hey, I heard Katsuki was here. Did you invite him for breakfast?” Mom asked.

“I did but he had to go home.” I sat down at the table.

“I also heard you two sparred in the front yard.” Mom handed me a glass of apple juice.

“Yeah that was a spur of the moment decision.” I grabbed a piece of toast.

“I got a call from Inko, she said she’s coming over later today.”

I stopped mid-bite. “Oh?”

“She said Izuku asked her to talk to me.”

“Oh yeah, I met him on my run this morning.”

“Mom, can you take me to school this morning?” Eiko walked in. “Dad already left.”

Mom glanced at the clock. “Sure, give me one moment.”

“Let Koneko clean up. She doesn’t have school today.” Eiko said.

“Can you do that for me?” Mom looked over at me, tail swishing.

“Yeah sure.” I shrugged. “I’ve got nothing better to do.”

“Thank you,” Mom leaned over and kissed my cheek. “I’ll see you later.”

Mom and Eiko left and the house was quiet. I leaned back and closed my eyes. I had the entire day to myself. I’m not sure if that was a good thing. It meant I was alone with my thoughts. I flattened my ears, with my luck Tomura would call me over just to take out his anger. As if summoned by my thoughts my phone rang. I groaned and looked at the caller ID, Unknown. I winced, I could ignore it but that might just make things worse. I answered the call.

“Hello?”

“Koneko,” the voice wasn’t Tomura’s, it was Kurogiri's.

“Kurogiri, is something wrong?” I sat up straight.

“I called to warn you. Tomura is very upset and I can’t calm him. I recommend you say away for the time being. And be careful, he watching you.” And with that, he hung up.

I stared at my phone. Kurogiri called to warn me? Surely he knew I tried to quit, why did he still care? I laid my head down on the table. I didn’t want to think about that. I didn’t want to be alone right now. I scrolled through my contacts, would Katsuki even talk to me after what happened earlier? Probably not. I called Izuku. He picked up quite quickly.

“Hey Koneko, is everything alright?” He sounded worried.

“I don’t know.” I took a shuttering breath. “Can you come over? I don’t want to be alone right now.”

“Sure, but what about Kacchan? Why didn’t you call him?”

My tail curled. “I wanted to but I didn’t want to bother him.”

“I’ll be over soon.” He hung up.

I let my phone fall to the table. I closed my eyes. The house was silent until I heard the front door open. My head shot up, was Mom home? Or Dad?

“Koneko?” It was Izuku.

“Neko?” And Katsuki.

I stood up as they walked into the dining room. “What are you both doing here?”

Katsuki glared at Izuku. “This nerd called me and said you sounded scared.”

“I’m sorry but he seems to comfort you better.” Izuku smiled. “I thought it would help.”

Katsuki scowled at Izuku before turning back to me. “Why’d you call him and not me?”

I shifted uncomfortably. “I was afraid you’d be mad about earlier.”

Izuku glanced between us but didn’t pry. He moved closer and started clearing away some of the dirty plates.

“Izuku, you don’t have to do that.” I tried to stop him.

He smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ve got it.”

“But—”

Izuku cut me off. “It’s not that hard just let me help.”

When he turned away Katsuki reached over and scratched behind my ears. I sighed and started purring. Katsuki relaxed slightly hearing that sound but he didn’t smile. Not when Izuku was here. Izuku came back and grabbed some more dishes. Katsuki froze and glared at Izuku.

“I see you figured out how to make her purr.” Izuku grinned.

“I figured it out a year ago.” Katsuki scoffed and resumed his scratching.

My eyes started to close. I was still so tired. My body started to relax, I felt my senses slipping away. All I could feel was Katsuki’s fingers in my hair.

“You might what to catch her,” Izuku said.

“What?” Katsuki growled before I fell against him.

I opened my eyes and tried to right myself but I was so tired. Katsuki wrapped his arms around me and picked me up. I yelped, face flushing. Izuku laughed but quickly stopped as Katsuki glared at him. Katsuki carried me to the couch and laid me down. I looked up at him.

“You had nightmares, didn’t you?” His voice was soft.

“Yeah,” my voice was even quieter.

“Why didn’t you call?”

“I didn’t want to bother you. You were tired.”

“You idiot, I told you to call me whenever and I mean it. I don’t care what time it is I will answer.”

“Kacchan?” Izuku walked in. “Can you take care of her now?”

“Of course I can.” Katsuki rolled his eyes.

“Wait Izuku,” I sat up. “You can’t just leave.”

“Why not?” Izuku looked confused.

“You just cleaned up and now you’re leaving. I can’t let you do that.” I protested.

“It’s fine Koneko. I don’t mind.” He smiled. “You’re in good hands now.”

“Fine,” I looked down. “Thanks for your help.”

“You’re welcome. I’ll see you two tomorrow!” He grinned and left.

The house was quiet again. I looked over at Katsuki. He was watching me.

“What going on in that head of yours?” He muttered.

“Too much,” I whispered.

“Do you want to talk about it?”

I shook my head. “No, it’s not your burden.”

“You keep saying that.” Katsuki reached over and stroked my hair. “I don’t care, I can help you bear it.”

“Maybe one day.” I leaned into this touch.

“Alright, for now, you should sleep.” Katsuki rubbed small circles behind my ear.

I started purring again, eyes drooping. He carefully laid me down. I closed my eyes and curled up.

I woke up about an hour later. Katsuki was sitting on the floor next to the couch. I reached over and ran my hand through his hair. He jumped at the contact.

“Hey,” I smiled. “Did I scare you?”

“No,” he huffed. “Feel better?”

“Yeah,” I scratched the top of his head lightly. “You could have gone home you know.”

“I don’t mind staying here. Besides if I went home Mom would make me clean.”

“So you’re not here for me?”

“What?” He turned and looked at me, surprised. “No.”

“So you don’t like me?” I pouted. “I thought we had something special.”

“That’s not—I didn’t mean—” he struggled for words.

I laughed. “Relax, I’m just teasing you.”

“I knew that.” He growled.

I smiled and ran my hand through his hair. He relaxed then pulled away.

“What are you doing?” He glared at me.

“Petting you.”

“Stop it.”

“No,” I grinned and resumed my scratching.

He grunted but didn’t move away again. We sat in silence like that for a little. Katsuki was scrolling on his phone but I noticed he started to nod off. I smiled and continued drawing small circles on the top of his head. His phone slipped out of his hand and clattered to the floor. He jumped at the sudden noise. He looked around wildly, palms crackling.

“Hey, hey, Katsu, it’s okay.” I reached out and touched his arm.

He jerked away before meeting my gaze. He relaxed slightly.

“You okay?” I asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” He looked down at his phone on the ground.

“You feel asleep and your phone fell,” I whispered, reaching out and running my hand through his hair again.

He took a deep breath. “I’m hungry. What do you have?”

“What?” I was taken aback by his change in attitude. “There some noodles in the fridge and some rice.”

He walked into the kitchen. I stayed on the couch, trying to figure out what happened. I heard the fridge open, stove light, and the clinking of pans. I stood up and walked into the kitchen. Katsuki was standing at the stove, heating up the food.

“We have a microwave you know.” I stood behind him.

“I’m making it better.” He replied.

“Fine, just don’t make it too spicy.” I opened the fridge looking for something to drink.

“Just drink water. You don’t need anything else.” He called.

“But I want something else.”

“Drink. Water.”

“Fine,” I groaned and poured myself a glass of water. “I wanted juice or something.”

“Water’s good for you.”

“But juice tastes good.”

Katsuki rolled his eyes and went back to his cooking. I walked behind him and rested my chin on his shoulder.

“You know this feels strangely domestic.” I murmured.

“Because you’re hugging me idiot.”

“And you’re cooking for me.”

“I’m cooking for me. You’re on your own.” He scoffed.

“But this is my house! And my food!” I whined. “You’d let me starve?”

“Yes,”

“So cruel!” I placed at hand against my chest. “But I still love you.”

I smiled at his reaction. He tensed and stopped what he was doing. He turned and glared at me.

“I won’t give in. So just give up.”

“Never, I’ll get you to date me sooner or later.” I booped his nose. “Because I know you love me too.”

“How do you know that?”

“Because if you didn’t I’d be dead. You don’t let anyone touch you, yet here I am.” To emphasize my point I ran my hands down his arms.

He shivered under my touch. “That doesn’t prove anything.”

“Sure it does. You’re completely different with me than anyone else, including your mother.”

“So?”

“Nothing, I’m just pointing it out. Besides,” I smiled. “I kinda like it. I’ve got this whole other side of you to myself.”

Katsuki turned back to the food and didn’t say anything. I shrugged and went back to the fridge. I dug around inside.

“What are you doing?”

“Looking for food because you’re not feeding me.”

“I—I was just joking. You can have some.”

I looked over at him. “You’re not as bad as you think you are.”

He huffed and looked away. I grabbed a couple of plates and he dished up the food. We sat at the island and ate in silence. I hummed in satisfaction. Katsuki was such a good cook. He had only cooked for me a few times but every time it was amazing. After lunch, we went back into the living room and watched a couple of movies. Shockingly Katsuki fell asleep at one point. I smiled and brushed the top of his head. He shifted and made a soft noise. I swear I almost died. He was so cute when he was asleep. I turned off the TV and walked to my room. I tidied up my room and bathroom. I walked back to the living room, he was still asleep. I smiled then headed to the kitchen and cleaned up there. After cleaning I started making cookie dough. I was putting them in the oven when Katsuki walked in.

“Good afternoon sleepy head.”

“What are you doing?” He stepped behind me.

“Making cookies. I got bored.” I finished putting the last bit of dough on to the pan. “Now move, I need to get to the oven.”

He backed up and I put the pan in the oven. I turned on the timer then grabbed the dishes and put them in the sink. I leaned back against the counter.

“So now what? We’ve got about ten minutes before the cookies are done.”

“We could clean up, you made a mess.” He glanced around.

“Oh yeah,” I looked down at the counter. “I’ve decided it’s a rule that every time you use cocoa powder you have to spill it no matter what. Even when I try not to it still happens.”

“I don’t think that’s true.” Katsuki started wiping the counter.

“It is!”

“Nope,”

“Fine, don’t believe me but it’s real.” I grabbed a spray and paper towel.

“Whatever you say.” He rolled his eyes.

We cleaned up in silence. Katsuki was washing dishes when the timer went off. I pulled the cookies out of the oven. I turned off the oven.

“Now we just have to let them cool.”

“Why wait?”  He walked over.

“Because they just came out of a 350-degree oven! They’re hot!” I smacked his hand away. “Just wait like five minutes.”

“Fine.”

“Hey, why don’t we spar while we wait?”

“Is that even a question?” His eyes flashed.

“One thing,” I stepped closer. “No quirks.”

“You think that makes a difference?” He smirked. “I can beat you quirk or no.”

“We’ll see.” I turned away. “I have to change real quick.”

I ran to my room and threw on a sports bra and some shorts. When I walked back out Katsuki was already in the backyard, stretching. I joined him. After a minute or two of stretching, we both readied our stance. I noticed that even when he didn’t use his quirk his stance was the same.

“No quirks, remember?” I grinned.

“Yeah yeah I know.” He scoffed.

“Ready?”

“Of course.”

I threw the first punch. He dodged it but he wasn’t quite fast enough without his quirk. I was able to roundhouse kick him in the side. He went down with a groan. I winced, I knew that had to of hurt. I hesitated but didn’t let my guard down. He got back up, wincing.

“Sorry, I thought you'd dodge that.”

“Well, I didn’t.” He lunged for me but I easily dodged him.

I grabbed his arm and pinned it behind his back. He spun out of my grip. He tried to punch me again but I leapfrogged over him, pushing him to the ground. He stumbled as he got back up.

“Are you okay? Do you want to stop?” I asked, dodging another punch.

“I’m not weak!”

“I know that but I have a really strong kick. You could have bruised your ribs.” I blocked a punch.

“I’m fine.” He panted then winced.

I grabbed his wrists and forced him to stop. “Let me at least check.”

“No, not until this fight is over.” He pulled away.

“What you want me to pin you to the ground?” I swept my leg under him and knocked him down.

He hit the ground on his back and groaned in pain. I stood up and walked over to him. He tried to get back up but I place a hand on his chest.

“Stay down. I won this fight.”

“Fine.” He conceded.

“Good, now let me check your ribs then we can go eat cookies.” I offered him a hand, he glared at me but took it. I hauled him up. “Now take off your shirt.”

“What?!” His cheeks were flushed but that could be from the fight.

“I need to see your ribs. Take off your shirt.”

He pulled off his shirt but grumbled about it. I ran my hand down his side. There was definitely a red mark and quite possibly bruising.

“Well they’re not broken but they probably will bruise. Once Eiko gets back I can borrow her quirk.” I stood up, my hand lingering on his chest.

“What’d you do now?”

I looked over and saw Eiko on the porch with a cookie in her hand.

“Oh we just spared and I landed a pretty good hit.” I walked up to her. “So can I copy your quirk?”

“Fine,”

“Thanks,” I wrapped her in a quick hug.

“Gross, now I have to shower.” Eiko groaned.

“Oh hush, you were planning on showering anyway.” I walked back over to Katsuki. “Come on,”

He followed me inside and to my room. I shut the door behind us.

“It’s better to do this privately,” I whispered.

He tensed as I came closer. I ran my hand across his chest, massaging small circles. I looked up at him, gaze flickering to his lips.

“Can I kiss you?”

He froze, breath hitching. “If it will help.”

“It will,” I leaned closer and pressed my lips against his.

I kept one hand on his side while the other played with the baby hair on his neck. The quirk must have started kicking in because he relaxed and almost became putty in my hand. I pulled away but kept my eyes closed, savoring the moment. I still rubbed circles on his side. He squirmed away. I opened my eyes.

“Are you ticklish?” I asked.

“No,” he grabbed my hand. “If you even try, I will kill you.”

“Fine, I won’t today but maybe one day I’ll try. When you least expect it.” I smiled and left the room.

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a cookie. They were nice and cooled off. Katsuki came in a moment later with his shirt on. I handed him a cookie then grabbed a bag and put several more in the bag. I handed it to him.

“Take these home.”

“What are you kicking me out?” He took the bag.

“No, I just know you probably want to shower and my parents will be home soon.”

He nodded. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Yeah, call me if your side acts up.”

“Call me if you have nightmares.”
