Chapter Text
Another workday had passed for Levi, and to say that they were exhausted was a great misunderstanding. Their back, arms, and legs have been aching from standing all day; they had to do tedious and various tasks at work, from organizing bags of animal food to lifting large bales of hay. It also didn’t help that the hay was frustrating to work with today, and it left Levi’s delicate hands with tiny scratches here and there. However, it was a relief knowing that it was something that could be easily taken care of. A bell rang to their fellow coworkers to switch to another station, but to Levi, the ring of that bell was sung to Levi, letting them know that it was finally time to go home. Levi heavily exhaled in sweet relief, stopping what they were doing to tidy up their area before heading downstairs to the locker rooms.
A pair of work gloves and a hairnet was gently tossed into a small shelf above the slightly-rusted clothing hooks, along with a clear pair of protective goggles and a face mask. Medium length, hot pink locks gently rested onto their shoulders as they took off their knee length apron, throwing the strap onto the hook. Their belongings rested in the bottom for their locker, which included a little purse and a coat. Levi reached down for them, tossing their navy blue coat over their shoulders as they grabbed their purse. The locker rustled a little bit as it was slammed shut, and soon Levi made their way towards the employee exit to check out with a little card.
Levi safely made their way to their car, chucking the purse into the shotgun seat on their right. Gently resting their head on the steering wheel, Levi took a second to catch a breather before sliding the keys into the ignition slot. Normally, music would’ve been blasting full volume in their car, but Levi just needed some silence. The sounds of the rushing highway were enough to keep Levi’s ears perked up. The lights of the surrounding buildings and cars were stretched like taffy as their medium-sized automobile sped its way back home, which the thought of it made a smile grow on Levi’s face. Home... home sweet home. It wasn’t coming home that made them so happy, rather, it was who was waiting for them at home.
Their spirits lightened up as they pulled into their driveway, causing their fingers to jitter on the steering wheel, the car coming to halt. Chocolate brown eyes darted up ahead to the front lawn, a warm light seeping from the living room window and onto the freshly cut grass outside.
“So, he must’ve decided to take a break from working… good for him.”
Levi thought, holding their keys in their pocket as they got out of the car. With the push of a button, the car was locked. Levi strutted their way towards the front door, a pep in their step as they walked along the stone sidewalk leading to the stairs on the front porch. Even before they were even to take a step up the stairs, the front door creaked open. A silhouette of a fairly built man was leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. He was about six feet tall, his styled hair adding on another inch. The Sun had set about an hour ago, which made it hard for Levi to make out the face standing in front of them. The figure stepped forward and paced down the stairs with his hands in his pocket, the sound of swaying jewelry ever so slightly getting louder as he approached Levi. The soft twilight above the both of them allowed Levi to take a look at his face better once he stopped in front of them. Emerald green eyes sparkled in the early night, locking his gaze onto Levi. An arm snaked around Levi’s waist, pulling them into the man’s chest. The scent of Cool Water cologne filled Levi’s nose, comforting them as they embraced each other. The man pulled away, leaning down to plant a delicate kiss on Levi’s cheek. His silky smooth lips moved back slightly, parting a bit to speak to Levi.
“It is a great pleasure for my love to return back home to me, Rohan Kishibie, for I have missed you all day, Levi~”
