Katsuki’s Izuku Analysis #13

Summary:

Katsuki and Izuku have known each other for almost all their lives, and Izuku probably knows Katsuki better than he knows himself. While Izuku goes and studies everything he can about everyone’s quirks, Izuku doesn’t realize is that Katsuki has been analyzing him too.

Or

Katsuki exploits Izuku’s weaknesses… just not in the way you’d think

Izuku’s weakness #7: Head massages

Katsuki stretched on his bed as afternoon sunlight filled the room with a warm glow. He sighed contently as he basked in the warmth. Turning his head slightly, he watched the figure on his floor peer over piles and piles of notes, mumbling to himself.

“Deku.” Katsuki called out. There was no bite in his voice.

Their relationship changed almost imperceptibly to most people. It started after their fight at Ground Beta. It grew from Katsuki finally accepted Izuku as an equal (not that he would have ever admitted it out loud) to just enjoying each other’s presence. And it stayed in that spot for a while, neither one of them wanting to lose what they had only recently gained, wanting to make up for lost time. In the present, they didn’t really know what to call their relationship. Their relationship never really involved much talking—always action and unspoken acknowledgment between them. All of this led to right now with Katsuki resting on his bed in the UA dorm while Izuku studied using his notes.

Izuku looked up from his notes. “Yes, Kacchan?”

Katsuki scooted over and patted the space beside him. “Take a nap. You’ve been studying for too long—you’re not going to retain any information that way.”

Izuku whined. “But Kacchan! I’m going to fail Present Mic-sensei’s test on Thursday if I don’t study!”

Katsuki rolled his eyes. “You’re not going to fail. You’re using my notes after all. Even dunce face can understand them.” Katsuki insistently patted the space behind him again. “Don’t make me ask again.”

Izuku sighed, stacking the notes on the floor in a neat pile. He knew he wasn’t going to win this battle. Slowly, Izuku made his way to Katsuki’s bed. He curled up tightly in the space that Katsuki left for him. Izuku rested on his side while Katsuki continued to lie on his back, his eyes closed now that Izuku had joined them.

A light blush dusted Izuku’s face as his eyes traced over Katsuki’s face. It wasn’t like they never took naps together—they always took naps together back when they were kids. But it had been years since they were this close without fighting each other. Izuku was far too nervous to take a nap—he could feel the warmth radiating off of Katsuki’s skin even though Izuku tried his best to keep a minimal distance between them. He watched the rise and fall of Katsuki’s chest, admiring how peaceful the usually explosive boy looked in this moment. Izuku let himself indulge in the peaceful scene before him when Katsuki’s eyes opened and Izuku felt rubies pierce into his emerald eyes.

“Tch. Told you to rest, Deku.” Katsuki turned onto his side to face Izuku and reached his hand out.

Izuku squeaked, shutting his eyes tightly as he waited for the impending blow. “I-I’m sorry, Kacchan! I just feel so restless and I can’t really stop thinking about the test and all of the things I don’t know—I just feel so stupid and this last section was really hard to understand and—”

Izuku stopped his rambling as he felt a warm hand massage his scalp carefully over his green curls. Izuku let out a content sigh as he leaned into the touch, tiredness immediately settling into his bones. Within minutes, Izuku was dead asleep.

Katsuki didn’t stop his ministrations, continuing to run his hand gently over Izuku’s hair. With his other hand, he pulled Izuku slowly into his chest. “Stupid Deku…” Katsuki muttered softly as he placed a secret kiss onto the boy’s head. “This was the only way we could get you to sleep… Grow up a little, would you…”

Katsuki basked contently in the warm glow that filtered through his room and leaned into the warmth that spread in his chest, breathing in the scent of Izuku’s shampoo.

Izuku’s weakness #12: Bookstores

“Kacchan! Can we stop here, pleeeeeeaaaaaase,” Izuku begged his boyfriend as he pursed his lips into a pout, his verdant eyes gleaming as he squeezed Katsuki’s hand.

They had gone to the nearby mall to buy Uraraka a birthday present, and on their way back to the dorm, Izuku spotted an old rundown bookstore that looked like it was one day away from going bankrupt.

Katsuki checked his phone for the time and sighed. “Okay. But only if you’re quick.”

Izuku squealed in joy as he ran straight into the bookstore. Katsuki trudged along behind him knowing that Izuku was definitely not going to be quick.

Inside, the bookstore was just as musty and old as it was on the outside. Katsuki held back the urge to sneeze—he could quite literally see the dust floating all around them. Katsuki grimaced slightly but settled for watching Izuku roam the small store’s few bookshelves.

“Look, Kacchan!” Izuku already carried a pile of books in his arms. “These are vintage books about the previous generation of heroes!”

Katsuki shook his head and smiled as he watched Izuku. “You can only buy what you can carry.” Katsuki reminded Izuku.

“I know, I know!” Izuku waved Katsuki off as he continued to browse the bookshelves.

A soft chuckle sounded from behind Katsuki. “Ah, young love.”

Katsuki turned to find an old woman watching in amusement, her wrinkled eyes sparkling in the dim lighting. He realized that she must be the owner of the store.

Katsuki’s face flushed. “W-We haven’t, umm, used that w-word… yet…” Katsuki mumbled softly hoping that Izuku didn’t hear what she said.

The old woman laughed. “It’s always good to see such sweet couples come into my store.”

After 10 minutes, Izuku plopped a stack of books onto the counter as the old woman rang him up.

Katsuki took a good look at the number of books on the counter. There were at least 12 books. “Deku, what did I say?”

Izuku shyly poked his fingers together. “I-I know, Kacchan… But I thought… You could help me carry them?”

Katsuki rolled his eyes as he picked up a bag of books. “You owe me one, nerd.”

Izuku bounced in his spot happily as he paid for his books and picked up the other bag. “Thank you, Kacchan!” Izuku placed a sweet kiss on Katsuki’s cheek.

Katsuki’s face turned bright red as he quickly headed out of the bookstore. “Y-Yeah yeah… Whatever.”

“Come back soon!” The old woman waved at them and Izuku waved back happily.

Izuku’s weakness #24: Plants

It all started with a simple houseplant. Just one.

Then Izuku decided that it looked far too lonely.

So he bought another. And another. And another.

And somehow, Izuku convinced Katsuki to build him a raised garden bed to put on their apartment’s balcony so he could grow herbs and vegetables.

It was a calm Saturday morning. Both Izuku and Katsuki had the day off from hero duties, so Katsuki allowed himself to sleep in before going on a morning run. When he came back home, Izuku left a note that he was running errands, so Katsuki relaxed in the quiet of their apartment, listening to soft music while watering Izuku’s plants.

“Kacchan! I’m home!” The door to the apartment swung open.

“Welcome home, Katsuki called out, watering the plants on the windowsill.

“Guess what I found!”

Katsuki froze in his place.

No. It couldn’t be.

Katsuki turned to look at his boyfriend. In his arms, Izuku was carrying three plants. His eye twitched slightly.

“Look, Kacchan! I got eucalyptus for our shower because people say that it’s good for stress relief when it’s mixed with steam! And I got these two for the window in our bedroom!”

“That’s… great, honey.” Katsuki watched Izuku skip through the apartment, placing his new plants in their new home.

Izuku returned with a watering can. “Which ones did you already water, Kacchan?” Izuku asked. Katsuki pointed out which plants he had already watered and Izuku got to work on the rest.

“Look, look!” Izuku happily pointed out to the small leaf he held in the palm of his hand. “This one’s growing a new leaf! Oh! And this one too!” Izuku excitedly pointed out the new growth on some of their older plants and Katsuki watched him, a small smile playing on his lips.

After they finished watering the plants, Izuku wrapped his arms around Katsuki’s neck and pecked his lips. “Thanks for helping me water them, Kacchan.”

Izuku rested his head on Katsuki’s shoulder and traced small hearts over Katsuki’s chest. “It’s just… nice watching something grow and thrive instead of…” Izuku gestured generally to their front door.

Katsuki grasped Izuku’s hand and placed gentle kisses over them. Yeah. He knew. They both knew what they were walking into when they started at UA and trained to become pro heroes. But nothing could ever really prepare them for the pain and destruction they faced on a daily basis. So if Izuku wanted to turn their apartment into a greenhouse, Katsuki was happy to let him. And if Izuku woke up the next morning to a bouquet of roses sitting on their kitchen table, Katsuki didn’t say a word.

Izuku’s weakness #30: Katsudon

Katsuki fried the pork cutlets in the pan as he prepared dinner. He checked his watch. It’s already well past 6 PM. He checked his phone for the fifth time—still no messages. Katsuki sighed—willing the ache of frustration back down when he heard the door to the apartment creak open.

“Home…” A tired voice called out.

“Welcome home,” Katsuki called back. He continued to stir as he turned the stove off, and a pair of scarred arms wrapped around his waist. Katsuki felt a forehead press between his shoulder blades as the figure behind him sighed deeply.

“What happened, babe?” Katsuki asked gently, places a kiss on top of green curls.

“Met with the family of the victim today… Said they wanted to press charges…”

Katsuki quickly turned around and held Izuku in his arms. Two days ago, a tragic accident happened where an angry man with an enlarging quirk tore down the office building after he had been fired. Katsuki blasted away the debris and carried survivors out of the building while Izuku used his strength to lift up beams while people were carried out from under them. After rescuing everyone in the building, Izuku faced the man who was starting to wreak havoc on nearby buildings. They were able to detain him, but due to the man’s violent struggling, he suffered permanent damage in his arms. The family of the man who was fired demanded to meet with hero Deku and his agency. It turned out that they were a rich family who held stocks in Japan’s railway. The parents had shunned their son away, leaving him to fend for himself in the real world. And when their son was fired from his job due to his anger issues, their son lost control of his quirk and started causing major damage to infrastructure and people. The parents berated Izuku for not doing his job as a hero and for injuring an “innocent man” who “did nothing wrong” and blamed Izuku’s on the man’s injuries. They called him a useless hero if he couldn’t even protect the person doing wrong. All in all, their arguments made no sense and their case was futile in the long-run. They were just self-entitled and angry that their family name was getting dragged through the mud.

“Don’t listen to them, baby.” Katsuki kissed Izuku’s forehead. “They’re wrong. They’re just awful human beings.”

Izuku shook his head slightly. “But I still used too much of my strength against someone who could barely control his quirk…”

“You detained him until the police were able to arrest him and he fought against you until the very end. You did your job, Izuku. You didn’t purposely hurt him. You would never use your quirk to hurt someone like that. You’re a hero, baby.” Katsuki peppered Izuku’s face with kisses, causing Izuku to giggle.

“Okay, okay… Can we eat please? I’m hungry… I could smell katsudon from the door.” Izuku’s stomach rumbled and Katsuki chuckled.

“You’re lucky I love you. I’m getting sick of having katsudon for dinner every night.”

“Want me to cook dinner tomorrow night?”

“No.”

Izuku looked aghast. “Kacchan! So mean!” Izuku pouted. “My cooking has gotten better!”

“I know it’s gotten better, Zuku, but mine is still the best.” Katsuki teased, wrapping his arms around Izuku’s waist.

Izuku kissed Katsuki deeply before pulling away. “Thank you, Kacchan~”

Izuku’s weakness #1: Katsuki

“You’re the worst—do you know that Katsuki Bakugou?”

Katsuki bit back the amused smile that threatened to creep onto his lips as his fuming boyfriend entered their apartment. “And why’s that baby?”

Izuku crossed his arms tightly and spun on his heel to glare at Katsuki. “You know why! And don’t ‘baby’ me!” Izuku huffed, marching into the apartment.

Izuku and Katsuki had gone to a class reunion and some of their old friends from other schools like Shiketsu even attended. Like Camie Utsushimi, much to Izuku’s chagrin. During the remedial classes for the provisional licensing exam, Camie and Katsuki became an unlikely pair of friends, mostly due to the way they both enjoyed messing with Todoroki. Now, Izuku liked Camie. After getting to meet the real Camie, he came to really like spending time with the bubbly girl. What he didn’t like was the way she blatantly threw herself at Katsuki even while he was right there.

“That’s how Camie has always been, Zuku,” Katsuki followed Izuku into the kitchen. “I promise she wasn’t flirting with me.” Katsuki wrapped his arms around Izuku from behind and began kissing up his neck slowly.

Izuku pushed Katsuki’s face away. “Bakubabe, how’ve you been hot stuff,” Izuku mimicked Camie’s voice and rolled his eyes.

Katsuki chuckled deeply from behind Izuku. “Did you miss the part where she asked where I got my ‘sexy arm candy’ and if she could ‘have a taste’?”

Izuku paused. If Camie said or did anything else that night, Izuku couldn’t remember past her feeling up Katsuki’s biceps and casually calling him all kinds of pet names that would get anyone else blasted to the next town over. Izuku knew deep down that there was no romantic attraction between the two, but he couldn’t help but seethe in anger watching her touch his Kacchan.

“I’m still mad at you, Katsuki.” Izuku bit out bitterly, eyebrows still knit tightly as Izuku glared at the space in front of him.

“Yeah?”

Izuku heard rustling behind him as Katsuki moved away. Izuku bit his lip to prevent the soft whine from leaving his lips as Katsuki’s warmth left him.

“What in the world are you doing, Katsuki—”

The words died on Izuku’s lips as he turned around to face his boyfriend. What he didn’t expect to see was that Katsuki had undone his tie and thrown his dress shirt over the back of the couch in their living room.

“I…” Izuku couldn’t help but let his eyes wander up and down the expanse of Katsuki’s chest and down towards the ridges of his abs.

“What were you saying, baby?” Katsuki prodded, a hint of smugness in his voice as Izuku blatantly checked him out.

“I was m-mad…” Izuku’s eyes didn’t leave Katsuki’s body. His eyes softened and no longer glared at his boyfriend.

“Mhm.” Katsuki stepped closer to Izuku, pulling one of Izuku’s scarred hands to rest on his abdomen. “Mad about what, baby?”

“I… Ummm…” Izuku’s brain short-circuited, his heart pounding heavily in his chest as he gently rubbed his hands over his boyfriend.

Katsuki picked Izuku up and Izuku willingly wrapped his legs around Katsuki’s waist. Katsuki smirked against Izuku’s neck as he nipped and sucked his pale skin relishing in the way Izuku whined and writhed against him.

“Works every time,” Katsuki thought smugly as he carried Izuku to their bedroom.
