Taehyung didn't know how to feel right now. He felt guilty, confused, exhausted, overwhelmed.
Tae always focused on his passions more than anything else. That's why it was easy for him to distract himself from his thoughts. But at some point he had to admit to himself that he was in fact gay and he does in fact have feeling for his best friend.
At this point Taehyung didn't know what to do. Should he confess to his best friend and potentially ruin one of the best friendships he's ever gotten to experience or should he keep this secret to himself forever? Before he can overthink this more he hears footsteps.
'Tae, open up' the familiar voice yells from the hallway.
'Go away, Jimin' Tae yells back but starts moving towards the door knowing his best friend won't give up that easy.
And Jimin isn’t having any of it being too annoyed that Taehyung has locked himself in the studio for the whole day, skipping breakfast, lunch and now dinner.
'I swear to god, Kim Taehyung if you don't open this door right now-' and before Jimin can finish his sentence, he hears the door being unlocked.
Once Jimin steps inside and sees Tae's tired eyes he immediately gives him a hug, putting down the bags of food on the table next to them.
'I told you to not overwork yourself and come home earlier than yesterday' Jimin says worriedly, interlocking their hands together.
'Yeah. I was just thinking about everything that's happening' Tae sighs, being guided to sit on Jimin's lap while the latter sits on the couch.
Taehyung had told Jimin how he was feeling and what he was thinking. Even though he wanted to hide this and never talk about it, Tae knew he would go crazy if he hadn't talked to someone about this mess. And Jimin has always been there for him and he’s always been there for Jimin so he decided that the best person to tell this to was his soulmate.
‘Mhm, just know that everyone in the group will support you. You’re not weird and you’re definitely not alone in this. I know you Tae and I know that you’re overthinking this. You shouldn’t try to hide yourself from everyone in the studio, everyone cares and misses you’ Jimin says while playing with Tae’s hair. Taehyung feels lucky having a friend like Jimin, who always know what to say to make him feel better.
He’s also really lucky to have the other members too. It only started this week, that he’s been coming to the studio and staying for most of the day but every single one of them has expressed that they missed him and that they hope he’s eating well and taking care of himself.
They don’t disturb him even though they’re worried mostly because they know the process of trying to write a song but having no inspiration to do so. And they feel safe knowing that Jimin goes to Tae everyday to bring food and keep him company.
So even though it’s hard, especially for his best friend, Jungkook because they spend most of their time together, always playing video games at 2 AM, they try to not distract him.
‘How’s the song coming along?’ Jimin asks curiously, while Taehyung moves to sit beside him so Jimin can take the food out of the bags while it’s still hot.
‘I don’t know, I just don’t know what the song should be about and it’s driving me crazy. Some have suggested I write how the main character achieves his goal or about how he overcomes the sadness he feels when he loses his father but when I tried writing the song while having those ideas in mind it just wasn’t working out how I wanted them to be' Jimin listens intently while Taehyung rambles on about the song.
'You know you should write about something you can relate to, something you've experienced. That's how I wrote Promise' Jimin always was good at listening to other people's problems and giving advice so Taehyung wasn't surprised that that had gave him a perfect idea for the song.
'Hmm I think I know what the song is gonna be about' Tae mumbles, smiling his boxy smile already excited.
'That's great but let's eat right now, you probably haven't eaten anything besides that banana I had brought to you in the morning' Jimin says taking some chicken with his chopsticks and feeding it to Tae.

When Taehyung gets home at 11 PM he's not surprised all the members are in their room relaxing after a long day.
He goes to the kitchen to get a quick snack and most likely go to sleep when suddenly he hears footsteps.
At first Tae thinks it's just someone going to the bathroom or to get some water so he keeps looking through the cupboards but suddenly he feels strong arms around his middle and he knows exactly who's hugging him.
'You're back' Jungkook whispers sounding sleepy, putting his head on Tae's shoulder and looking to see what Tae is doing. They enjoy each other company for a little bit.
'Hmm' Taehyung mumbles, placing the snacks down on the counter and turning around to see a very sleep deprived Jungkook still holding his waist.
'You were up late last night trying to get that rank in Overwatch, weren't you?' Tae scolds lightly while taking Jungkook's face into his hands and examining the bags under his eyes.
Gukk nods his head indicating that he did in fact stay up late last night trying to get the new rank.
"Let's go sleep, bunny' Tae leaves the snacks behind, wanting to get Jungkook into bed as soon as possible so he could rest properly. And Jungkook doesn't mind being guided to the bed as long as he gets cuddles from his Taetae.

After cuddling with Jungkook for the whole night Tae wakes up feeling refreshed and ready to go back to the studio. He turns to a sleeping Jungkook and leaves a kiss on the boys cheek before going.

Taehyung won't admit it out loud but after that night he has been trying to avoid spending time with Jungkook. He really misses him but he feels guilty having romantic feeling for the younger.
When Jungkook texts him he replies briefly and to the point. And when Jungkook tries to meet up, he makes excuses. He knows he's being childish and a total asshole to his best friend but the truth is he just doesn't know how to act towards him.
So when Seojoon and Bogum text him to hang out he doesn't think twice before accepting trying to distract himself from his problems. Even though Bogum and Seojoon are busy with the new drama they make time for Taehyung.
They had forgotten how nice spending time together was. Mostly because of their busy schedules but the drama gave them an excuse to meet up since Tae’s song is going to be the dramas OST.
They start meeting up more often. After a couple of days you could find Taehyung either locked up in his studio working on the song and spending time with Jimin or hanging out with Seojoon and Bogum.

After a long and busy day Taehyung, Seojoon and Bogum had decide to go to the Han river to relax.
It was fun, they bought snacks and drinks from the cute store next to the river. Tae and Seojoon took everything and went to boil the ramen while Bogum was paying for the food. Taehyung joked that Bogum was their sugar daddy.
The view was beautiful from where they were sitting on a bench, they could see the Han river and the sunset while people were walking passed them. They were eating ramen and talking, mostly just random things that came to mind.
'So how are all of the members doing?' Bogum asks taking a sip of his drink and looking to Taehyung to indicate that the question was directed towards him.
'They're doing well. Working hard for the new album' Tae answer, softly smiling just thinking about the other members.
'And what about your bunny?' Seojoon teases with a smirk on his face, remembering the pet name Tae accidentally used when introducing him to Jungkook.
'Oh, he's doing okay' Taehyung says looking down while blushing but the smile isn't as bright as before.
They’re surprised to say the least. Usually Tae rants for hours about Jungkook. So Seojoon raises an eyebrow at Tae to show his confusion.
And Taehyung thinks maybe it's time he comes out to them. He has thought a lot about this and he knows he's ready. Both of them are bisexual so Tae's got a pretty good feeling that they'll accept him, but for some reason he still feels nervous.
He hasn't told anyone besides Jimin about his sexuality and his feeling for his best friend so he hopes everything will go well.
'I- I want to tell you guys something' Taehyung stutters and both Seojoon and Bogum seem to be more serious now, turning to Tae and waiting for him to speak again.
'I'm gay' Taehyung says, looking at Seojoon and Bogum, both of them have blank faces, showing no emotions. For a second Taehyung thinks that maybe he messed up, maybe he hadn’t thought this through enough, maybe this was a mistake.
But then he sees both of them fondly smile and Taehyung can’t help but think that maybe he hadn’t messed up.
‘We’re so proud of you, Tae’ Bogum says while both of them stand up and go give Taehyung a tight hug. And Taehyung feels grateful to have them in his life. Knowing that even through the hardest times he’ll have them both by his side.
They fool around for the rest of the evening. Talking about their sexuality which they had never really talked about that much before this. And Tae even confesses about his feeling for Jungkook while they walk around the Han river.
What Taehyung doesn’t know is that Seojoon and Bogum aren’t really surprised to find out about his feeling for his best friend mostly because they have seen them together and know how they act like a married couple always kissing each others cheeks and holding hands while staring lovingly at each other.
The night ends quickly all of them tired from walking and at some point even running and joking around. Tae feels the happiest he has ever felt knowing that through everything he’ll have friends who love and support him.

But one person who isn’t happy was Jungkook. He’s staring at the picture Tae posted on his instagram and can’t help but feel confused.
He had asked Taehyung if he could come to his studio but Taehyung insisted he was working on his songs and couldn’t be distracted but now he’s thinking that maybe Tae’s just trying to avoid him.
Jungkook can’t help but feel jealous of the two boys standing next to Taehyung and the caption that reads ‘Had a great time with these two dorks’.
Gukk always goes to Yoongi to get advice and this time was no different. At first Yoongi had reassured him that even though him and Taehyung fight they always make up knowing Jungkook was most likely feeling down because of this.
He told him that maybe Tae is just going through something tough right now or maybe he was angry at Jungkook for something silly. So there was no way of knowing without talking and figuring this out.
‘So the main point i’m trying to make is to not jump to conclusions right away, kid’ Yoongi’s words repeat in his mind and Jungkook thinks that’s exactly what he’s gonna take into consideration.
And Jungkook thinks that’s pretty good advice knowing how hot headed he can be sometimes. It also wouldn’t have help the situation if an angry Jungkook had gone to talk to an equally angry Taehyung and it probably would have ended in them arguing.
So he thinks that the best solution right now was to let Tae talk to him when he's ready. For now he’s gonna play it safe, wait and see what happens.

'It sounds great, Tae' Jimin says listening to the snippet. Taehyung has been working on this song for the passed couple of weeks.
Taehyung surprised he's this scared to let Jimin hear it. He trusts Jimin so much so he can imagine how hard it's going to be to release it. This song is so private and he did put all of his feelings and emotions in it.
'What's the song about?' Jimin curiously asks, getting a tired and sad smile in return.
'It's about falling in love with your best friend' Taehyung sadly says looking away feeling his eyes sting.
Taehyung doesn't know why he's so emotional all of the sudden. Maybe it's because he has been working on this song for so long that he hasn't left the studio in quite a while or maybe it's because he misses Jungkook even more so sense they haven't talked in a couple of days now.
'Oh, Tae' Jimin says sadly going to where Taehyung is sitting and hugging him tight knowing his best friend has been suffering.
'Why don't you confess to Jungkookie?' Jimin says playing with Tae's hair. Waiting for Tae to calm down so he could answer.
'Yeah, sure, confessing to my straight best friend, sounds like a great idea' he knows Jimin is just trying to help him. But he genuinely thinks that that's the worst case scenario right now.
'You never know what can happen' Jimin says thinking quietly to himself. He doesn't try to argue anymore tho. Letting Taehyung cry it out on his shoulder.

Taehyung has been thinking. Maybe he is acting childish, I mean he and Jungkook haven't talked in over a week and it's just annoying now.
He tries to leave the dorms as early as he can so they won't run into each other and start acting awkward.
He doesn't really know why Jungkook has also avoided him but to be honest he's grateful. Who how's what would have happen if they had run into each other when Tae was going through his hardships.
At this point he has accepted the truth and is ready to talk about it. Feeling happy that Jimin, Seojoon and Bogum accept him, Taehyung is also planning to come out to the other members soon. But right now he wants to fix this mess with Jungkook.
Taehyung's definitely isn't going to confess his feeling for Jungkook, his mind is made up about that. But he thinks maybe he can come out to Jungkook in private and apologise for ignoring him because he's just been dealing with a lot of hardships the passed couple of months.
They are currently at the BigHit building and Taehyung has been rehearsing what he's gonna say to Jungkook in the mirror for maybe 30 minutes now and he thinks he's finally ready to confront Jungkook.
He walks out of his studio turning a corner and walking straight to where Jungkook is standing but his steps suddenly falter when he sees an employee talking to Gukk.
Tae doesn't get jealous easily but seeing Jungkook standing with someone else is bothering him more than he would like to admit.
So he stands there observing how they interact, taking notice how Gukk keeps smiling sweetly at the girl. Tae's lost in his thoughts when he sees Jungkook laughing and he can't think clearly.
He knows he's acting stupid the girl is probably just a good friend of Jungkook’s but it still bothers him imagining his best friend with someone else. He thinks about being in that girls place and confessing to Gukk. Jungkook would probably feel disgusted by him because he's a man.
Tae deep down knows Jungkook would never think that about him but suddenly Taehyung's emotions are taking over him.
He turns around walking as fast as he can to the nearest bathroom already feeling his eyes sting with tears.
What he doesn't know is that a very confused Jungkook sees him from the corner of his eye but Gukk doesn't dare follow him. Believing that Taehyung is still mad at him. To Jungkook it looks like Taehyung just turned around to go the other way to not run into him.
So he turns back to the employee nodding and listening to her story. She was talking about how she and her boyfriend had went to a lot of beautiful museums in London. Jungkook was just curious how London was like sense they'll have a concert there soon.

'Tae come out' Hoseok says banging on the door of Taehyung's room. Hoseok and Jimin have been trying to get him out of the room and talk to them the whole day.
When he had ran to the bathroom Hobi had seen and followed him being worried that something happened. So that’s how he came out to Hoseok, in the BigHit building bathroom while crying. But he doesn’t regret it one bit, because even though it was embarrassing, he now has come out to Hoseok.
Taehyung took a couple of days to reflect on his situation and when he thinks back to it he understands that he was thinking irrationally. Jungkook, the sweetest guy he knows would never say anything that would hurt him.
So now he’s just embarrassed that he had even thought that and for letting his emotions get the better of him again. So he decided to lock himself in his room and watch kdramas all morning to distract himself but Jimin and Hoseok had other plans.
'No pun intended' Hoseok says and they hear Tae’s laugh through the door. What Taehyung had forgotten was that there was a key of his room next to the flower plant, but to Tae’s dismay Jimin and Hoseok hadn’t forgot.
So the three of them spend the day cuddling, eating unhealthy snacks and crying over kdramas.

When Taehyung gets a text from Jimin saying to come as quickly as possible to his and Hoseok’s room Taehyung gets worried. Why was Jimin in such a rush? He thinks maybe something bad has happened so he goes to their room as fast as he can.
He enters their room and the first thing he sees is Jungkook sitting on Hoseok’s bed. He has a gut feeling something's not right. So he looks at the door, but before he can register what’s happening the door is being slammed shut and he hears it being locked.
‘What is happening?’ he says turning to Jungkook but sees he’s just as confused and shocked as he is.
‘We aren’t letting you out of there until you two crackheads talk to each other’ Taehyung hears Yoongi yell from the other side of the door.
Taehyung isn’t mad he’s just annoyed he has to talk to Jungkook this way and not on his terms. He knows their friends intentions are pure, but he feels lost being put in this position. But ultimately he understand why their friends decided to do this. He guesses he wouldn’t have had the courage to talk to Jungkook on his own.
‘Hi’ Jungkook says egzamining Taehyung. They haven’t talked in a while so it feels awkward at first.
‘Hey’ Taehyung says back. He notices how Jungkook’s stare softens looking at him now and he can’t help but blush.
‘We should probably talk’ Tae says trying to distract Gukk from his blushing face. Taehyung can’t believe it’s only been a couple of minutes and he is already embarrassing himself.
Taehyung sits on the bed next to Jungkook and he knows it’s time for them to have a talk. Taking Jungkook’s hand in his, he looks at him and starts speaking. After all it's now or never.
‘I’m so sorry for ignoring you for some time now. But the last couple of weeks I was just trying to find myself and understand what i’m feeling’ Tae looks down seeing Jungkook’s eyebrows furrow.
‘I- um, might have feeling for you. I- I mean I know I have feeling for you not platonic but romantic. I always distracted myself from my own feelings with work but I guess recently I just kind of explored my feelings and yeah, I really like you’ Tae cringes, why the hell is he stuttering?
He feels relieved to finally let it all out but he’s also nervous, how will Jungkook react to this?
But when he looks at Jungkook he sees a bright smile across his face and Tae can’t help but feel confused, did Jungkook hear him right? Why was he smiling?
What he didn’t expect was Jungkook pulling him into himself and kissing his forehead.
‘I like you too’ Jungkook says hugging him tightly and honestly Tae can’t believe it.
‘I- um you do?’ Tae knows it’s a stupid question since Gukk just confessed to him but he needs confirmation from his best friend that he likes him back.
‘Did you really think I only have platonic feeling for you when I got you flowers on Valentines day? Or when I got jealous of Bogum and made you choose between us?’ Jungkook asks feeling embarrassed but he wanted to reassure Tae.
Now that Taehyung thinks about it their friendship was never really that platonic, to an outsider it probably even looked like they were a couple. That’s why their friends had locked them in this room, because they could see how much they really loved each other even though they both were oblivious.
He pulls away slightly to look at Jungkook and this time he doesn't feel guilty when he looks at his lips, wanting nothing more then to kiss him. So he doesn't hold himself back knowing his best friend is in love with him too.
So he guesses they lost track of time because they hear the other members cheering and when they look, they see them smiling brightly.
That night Jungkook and Taehyung don't sleep, cuddling and talking about all the times they thought they were way too obvious of their feelings.

Taehyung and Jungkook decided to do something fun so for the first time they took a bus to the BigHit building but since it was their first time they did get off at a few wrong bus stops, who would have thought that Seoul looks so similar, but they laughed it off, just feeling happy they can go on these small adventures together.
Ever since they started going out, they seem to be more goofy, trying new thing, even though it sometimes doesn’t work out as they had hoped, like taking the bus for the first time and getting off at wrong bus stops or going to a new restaurant and finding out they don’t like anything on the menu, they're still glad they can share these moments together.
‘Okay close your eyes’ Taehyung says turning to Jungkook while still holding his hand.
‘Why do I need to close my eyes? You said you wanted me to hear your new song’ Jungkook asks raising his eyebrow in suspicion but he starts laughing when he sees Tae’s dumbfounded face.
‘Oh right, I forgot’ Taehyung looks down, feeling his cheeks getting hotter.
‘Hey you dork don’t laugh at me. Maybe next time don’t distract me with your doe eyes and your cute bunny smile and let me focus’ Taehyung says annoyingly but eventually starts to laugh while looking at Jungkook who looks like he is about to cry from laughter.
‘Mhm, do I distract you, Kim Taehyung?’ Jungkook suddenly acts serious, smirks and takes Tae’s hands into his own. Trying to keep a straight face but still grinning like an idiot because of Tae’s flustered state.
‘No, you don’t dumbass’ Tae rolls his eyes, leading them to his studio by their interlocked hands. To everyone else around them Tae might seem mad but while they’re walking Jungkook can see Tae’s cheeks turning a deeper shade of red indicating that he is just very flustered.
They walk in and Taehyung lightly pushes Gukk to the sofa while he goes to his computer to find the file containing the song and also to try to calm down so he doesn’t look as red as a tomato.
Jungkook gets comfortable, starts looking through his phone and replying to some of the messages from Jimin.
When Taehyung finds it he turns on his speakers and starts playing the song. He turns around in his chair to look at Jungkook who is already looking at him.
Taehyung is taken by surprise when Gukk stands up, goes to him and extends his arm, asking him to dance. Without saying anything Tae places his hand into Jungkooks.
Tae lays his head down on Jungkook's shoulder and they dance slowly in sync with the melody, both in each other's arms.
‘Tae’ after some time Jungkook whispers while the song plays in the background.
‘Mhm’ Tae responds lifting his head from Jungkook’s shoulder and looking straight into his eyes which hold so much love.
‘Who’s the song about?’ Jungkook asks cheekily, teasing Taehyung.
‘Don’t know just some annoying guy’ Tae plays along grinning from ear to ear. Jungkook can’t help but laugh at Tae’s answer thinking how much he loves his dork.
'Would you be my boyfriend?' Jungkook can't hold himself back anymore asking the question he was meaning to ask any day now.
Jungkook didn't want to rush their relationship. He wanted to give both of them time to adjust and feel more comfortable but they've been friend for so long now that it wasn't hard being themselves around each other.
What Jungkook doesn't know is that Taehyung would have probably said yes the day they found out about each others feelings because he has never felt anything but love, comfort and happiness when being with Gukk.
'Yes' Tae says grinning like an idiot in love, which he was.
And that's how they spend the rest of their day in Tae's studio dancing, listening to each other's unreleased songs and cuddling.

After announcing their official relationship to the other members they decide to go have a picnic in the park to celebrate.
But of course their members are too chaotic for a peaceful picnic.
'Why do you never take me to Paris? Jungkookie is taking Taehyungie to Paris' Jimin asked looking at Yoongi who is flustered mostly because they haven't even confessed their feelings for each other.
'I- well, you' Yoongi rambles, feeling his cheeks getting hotter from the embarrassment.
'Hobi give me back my phone' Yoongi's rambling is interrupted by Jin's shouting.
'Not until you delete that ugly picture of me' Hoseok shouts back running as fast as possible from Jin.
Jungkook and Taehyung can hear Namjoon sighing and getting up.
'I'll go try to break them up' He says already walking away, trying to catch up to Hoseok and Jin.
Other people might get mad that their friends can't be serious for one second but Taehyung and Jungkook aren't mad at all that their friends are this chaotic.
They honestly though that the picnic would have been super boring if their friends would have just acted serious so they're happy that the members are messing around and having fun.
Tae and Gukk hear a noise so they turn to the left where Namjoon was walking off to and they see Joon, Hobi and Jin on the ground trying to get the phone that contains Hoseok's supposed ugly picture.
When they turn to the right they see Jimin and Yoongi lightly arguing and teasing each other about going to Paris together.
Gukk and Tae can't help but laugh at their friends silliness.
Taehyung can't believe that a month ago he was locked up in the studio fearing that his best friend will hate him for his feelings.
Taehyung feels grateful to the other members and his other friends for accepting him for who he is and loving and supporting him through his hardships.
'I love you' Taehyung says and turns to look at Jungkook from where he is laying on his lap. Wanting to show how much Jungkook really means to him.
'I love you too' Jungkook replies, leaning down to give his boyfriend an affectionate kiss on the lips.
And that’s the story of how Taehyung learned to be his authentic self and to accept who he truly is.
