Work Text:

Taehyung

Taehyung wandered into the record store, surprised at how busy it was in the middle of a weekday. He was on his lunch break, wandering around the mall near his work, killing some time before his next appointment. He shuffled past some people to get to the music stand, taking one of the two sets of headphones hanging up and slipping them over his head, smiling as he instantly recognised the song, ‘Creep’, by Radiohead.

“When you were here before, I couldn’t look you in the eye…”

He put his hands into his pockets, gently swaying in time with the music, a small smile lighting up his face. He startled, gasping when a hand suddenly reached out to grab the second set of headphones from the stand. He turned to look at the person beside him, gulping hard and staring wide-eyed at the man brushing shoulders next to him. The man was the same height as him, but fair-skinned with wavy black hair, dressed well in an all-black ensemble. Taehyung subconsciously licked his lips when he noticed three piercings on each of the man’s ears, long, dangly earrings hanging down on one side to almost the tops of his shoulders, as well as the intricate swirl of a tattoo peeking from above the collar of his dress shirt and jacket. The man smiled awkwardly at Taehyung, his lips quirking a little when he noticed the light blush crossing his cheeks. He picked up one of the CD cases from the stand, holding it up to show Taehyung, silently asking if he was listening to the same song. Taehyung nodded shyly, the other man’s lips quirking in a small grin, both men turning back to listen to the song.

“But I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo, what the hell am I doing here, I don’t belong here…”

Taehyung tried but couldn’t stop himself from glancing over at the man, at first from the corner of his eye, then a bit more obviously. He knew it might seem a bit creepy, but he couldn’t help it, the other man was stunning, in a dark and mysterious kind of way. He read the back of the CD case while he was listening to the music, eventually putting it back and closing his eyes, gently bopping his head in time with the music.

“I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul…”

Taehyung was trying so hard to not be obvious that he missed the subtle glances the man gave him, the other man unable to stop his eyes from taking in the shape of the brunette’s lean body under his tailored light grey suit, and how well his ivory dress shirt set off the golden tone of his skin. The man couldn’t stop himself from admiring Taehyung’s perfect side profile, or his soft-looking brown hair curling into his cat-like eyes.
Both men happened to turn to look at each other, trying to stare at each other inconspicuously, blushing when they realised they’d caught each other, smiling awkwardly at each other and pretending to be looking at the CDs in front of them or closing their eyes listening to the music.

“I want you to notice, when I’m not around… you’re so very special, I wish I was special…”

Taehyung turned to look at the black-haired man again, unable to keep his gaze from the other. The man had his eyes downcast, seemingly lost in the music. Taehyung wished he had the courage to say something to the man, anything, but he couldn’t think of a thing to say, his shy side coming out at the worst time ever. He knew if he didn’t say anything, he might never see this handsome stranger ever again, and he’d be beating himself up for eternity.

“What the hell am I doing here, I don’t belong here, oh oh….she’s running out again….”

Taehyung eyes shot next to him when he saw the dark-haired man taking off his headphones and placing them back on the stand. The man turned, looking into Taehyung’s eyes, staring for a few seconds before giving the brunette a small smile, walking away with a CD case in his hand. Taehyung turned, watching the man’s back as he walked away, disappearing into the crowded store.

“And she’s running out, she runs, runs, runs, runs……..”

Taehyung turned back to the stand, gulping around a knot that had suddenly formed in his throat. He tried to focus on the music but he couldn’t, no matter how hard he tried. He grabbed the headphones and yanked them off, dropping them and leaving them dangling by the cord as he rushed in the direction he’d seen the man walking away. He walked quickly down the aisles, grateful he was tall enough to see over the heads of most of the people, desperately looking for a head of black wavy hair. His heart almost stopped when he saw the black-haired man standing in front of some discs, looking down at them. Taehyung stood there, panting, feeling strangely elated to have found him, yet not wanting to acknowledge the feelings stirring inside him from seeing the man again. The man looked up, his round doe eyes widening slightly when he saw Taehyung standing in front of him, on the other side of the CD stands. The man held up a CD case, the Radiohead album, throwing Taehyung a large grin when Taehyung held up his own copy of the Radiohead album to show him. Taehyung grinned back sheepishly in return, gasping when he dropped his copy onto the CD stand in front of him, knocking some other CDs down. He blushed as he put them all back, picking up his own copy to buy, looking up to see the dark-haired man give him one last rueful smile, before he walked away. Taehyung sighed despondently as he watched him go, taking his CD to the counter and waiting in line to purchase it.

He left the store, walking towards the building where his next appointment was. Luckily he knew where it was, as he was oblivious to everything and everyone around him, unable to stop thinking about the handsome stranger he’d run into. Why didn’t he talk to the man, why did he let him go without even trying to talk to him? He was usually very outgoing and talkative, it was part of his job, but somehow, with just a gaze, this man had been able to render him speechless, perhaps for the first time ever. Taehyung slowed to a stop as he arrived at the building, annoyed to see the client he was waiting for still hadn’t arrived. He pulled out his phone and began scrolling through his emails, trying to find the client’s details in the email his boss had sent him the day before. The sound of a throat clearing behind him made him jump, he turned around to see the dark-haired man standing before him, smiling sheepishly at him. Taehyung stared for a few seconds too long, coughing to try cover up his embarrassment. “I-I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise…uh, you…“ Taehyung trailed off, so flustered at seeing the man again that he couldn’t get his thoughts under control, babbling nervously.

“It’s okay, I’m sorry I’m a bit late, the queue at the record store was longer than I thought,” the man replied, smiling easily at Taehyung before he offered his hand out to shake. “I’m Jeon Jungkook, it’s nice to meet you…?”

“Uh, T-Taehyung, Kim Taehyung,” he replied, trying in vain to control his blushing and stuttering, taking Jungkook’s hand and shaking it warmly. The men stared at each other, smiling and not realising they hadn’t let go of each other’s hands. Once they realised they dropped hands and turned away quickly, Taehyung busying himself looking for the building keycard on his keychain and Jungkook clearing his throat awkwardly. Taehyung sighed in relief as he found the right card, slotting it into the front gate and letting Jungkook inside before him, closing the gate behind them and leading him to the tiny two-person glass elevator. Taehyung pressed the ‘Up’ button, surprised to see the elevator doors opening immediately. He gestured for Jungkook to go inside, stepping in next to him and pressing the level button, the doors closing with a ding as the elevator began its slow yet lengthy ascent.
“This might take a while, this thing is slow and it’s over twenty floors high,” Taehyung commented, daring to glance at Jungkook, whose eyes were already on Taehyung, staring intently at him.

Jungkook

“Why didn’t you say anything to me, at the store?” Jungkook asked Taehyung softly, tilting his head as he watched him. Taehyung stared at Jungkook for too long, his mind completely blank as he stared at the handsome man for longer than was polite.

“Wha…I didn’t- I mean, I…uh, fuck,” Taehyung muttered softly, scrubbing his face with his hands in mortification, looking up in surprise when he heard a quiet chuckle come from Jungkook. “What’s so funny?” He asked defensively, trying to control the blood rushing to his face.

“Nothing. I’m sorry, Taehyung, it’s just, you’re….that was kind of cute,” Jungkook replied with a quirk of his lips, turning to look out of the glass elevator, leaving Taehyung in a flustered state and wondering how he was going to survive this appointment without throwing himself from the roof or jumping the man next to him. The men looked aimlessly out of the elevator, watching each level of the grand staircase falling away slowly below them.

“So uh, Jungkook, are you new in town?” Taehyung asked the man next to him, turning slightly as he felt the other man’s shoulder bump his. They stared at each other for a few seconds, Taehyung biting his lip nervously as he took in Jungkook’s handsome features; his cute round nose, his plump bottom lip, his doe eyes, which were hooded as they stared back at him, his wavy black hair ending at his cheekbones, highlighting his strong features and chiselled jawline. Taehyung was salivating on the inside and trying desperately to stay focused on the outside.

“Yeah, I am. I decided to expand my business here, and this place seems to be the closest to work so far.” Jungkook replied, looking down and pretending to pick at his nails. “So, Taehyung, what other music do you like besides Radiohead?” He asked, looking up at Taehyung from under his lashes, shifting slightly on his feet so his body turned more to face Taehyung than beside him. He grinned inwardly as he saw the other man gulping nervously, unable to pull his beautiful eyes away from Jungkook’s face.

“Uh, music? Well, I like lots of different music, Kpop, obviously, hip hop, rap, classical, trot, heavy metal, disco, jazz... anything but country music really,” he finished, smiling his wide, boxy grin at Jungkook, who saw it and froze, wondering how someone as handsome as Taehyung could make such a ridiculous-looking smile look so completely adorable and endearing. He blushed slightly when he realised Taehyung was smirking slightly at him, turning his head to look out of the elevator, trying to compose himself. Taehyung’s lips quirked up in a grin, turning to look out of the elevator as well. They were almost halfway up to the top floor when the elevator dinged, the elevator stopping and the doors opening to let an older lady inside.

“I’m sorry, boys, I’m only going up one floor,” the lady said with a smile, standing with her back to them as she stood in front of the doors. Taehyung and Jungkook had to shuffle to fit in the elevator together before the doors closed. Taehyung gulped as he turned his body to face Jungkook, who shuffled closer to Taehyung and lifted one arm to grasp a metal handrail above his head.

Taehyung

Taehyung almost swooned when he caught the faint scent of Jungkook’s cologne, wafting from under his jacket, the scent carrying from the warmth of his body. Taehyung tried to keep his eyes down, but realised it was a bad idea when he couldn’t stop himself from checking out Jungkook’s black denim-covered thick thighs, his obviously muscled torso and overall sex appeal that seemed to ooze effortlessly from him. Jungkook couldn’t stop his own eyes from roving over Taehyung’s stunning features, the sudden lack of space between them granting him the perfect opportunity to scrutinise the other man. He couldn’t believe how long Taehyung’s eyelashes were, he’d never seen such beautiful eyes on a man, his nose was perfect and his plump lips were irresistible and right there.
Taehyung could feel Jungkook’s gaze practically burning his face, the fact that they were so close to each other now definitely didn’t help. His heart was racing as he tried to look anywhere but at Jungkook, feeling desperate as he was almost unable to look anywhere else since they were facing each other, their chests almost touching. Taehyung gulped, watching as Jungkook licked his lips right in front of him, both men staring at each other as Jungkook slowly began to lean in, closing the distance between them. Taehyung licked his own lips when their noses gently bumped, both men feeling each other’s breath on their own lips, their eyes closing in anticipation. Jungkook slowly rubbed the tip of his nose along Taehyung’s, slowly tilting his head and leaning forward, Taehyung holding his breath as their lips barely brushed against each other’s.

Ding! The sound of the elevator shocked them out of their embrace, the two men springing apart as the doors opened, the older lady stepping out with a smile as she walked down the hall. The doors closed with a ding, ascending towards the top floor again. Taehyung was facing the front door, discreetly blowing air over his hot face and down his shirt, trying to cool himself down. Jungkook stared at Taehyung from behind, admiring his lean figure and wondering how to try that again before the end of the day. Taehyung could feel Jungkook’s gaze burning into his back but was too shy to turn around and face him. The ding of the elevator alerted them to their arrival to the top floor, the glass doors opening as the elevator stopped. Taehyung sighed in relief as he stepped out, Jungkook stepping out after him, noticing there were only two apartments on the entire floor, one at each end of the corridor they were standing in.
“We go to the left,” Taehyung murmured, leading them towards the apartment. Once they got to the door of the penthouse, Taehyung fumbled the keycards in his hands, finally finding the right one and slotting it next to the front door. He pushed the door open, allowing Jungkook to walk in front of him, closing the front door behind them, the click of the lock echoing in the large space. Jungkook hummed appreciatively as he walked into the main open area, looking around at everything.

“It’s more spacious than I thought,” Jungkook said, walking over to the large glass wall on one side of the luxury penthouse, looking down at the city below.

“Is it too big?” Taehyung asked him, feeling slightly anxious that Jungkook might not like it and might cut their appointment short, berating himself internally for being selfish and putting himself before his job.

“No, I like it, I just wasn’t expecting it to look like this,” Jungkook reassured him, walking over to admire the fireplace in the loungeroom area. He stood there, running a finger along the mantelpiece, trying not to imagine himself and Taehyung stretched out together naked, on a rug, in front of a roaring fire, but failed miserably.

“Jungkook?” Taehyung asked tentatively, walking over when Jungkook didn’t move, stepping closer to him and gently laying a hand on his shoulder. Jungkook gasped in surprise, flinging his hand up as he spun around and accidentally clipping Taehyung on his mouth, the other man crying out in surprise and grabbing at his mouth with both hands.

“Oh shit, I’m sorry, Taehyung! I was daydreaming, I didn’t- fuck!” Jungkook exclaimed in horror, going to Taehyung and gently cradling his face in his hands. “Did I bust your lip?” He questioned, gently pulling Taehyung’s bottom lip down, grateful to see no blood, just a small lump forming inside his lip.

“No, I’m sorry, Jungkook, I shouldn’t have crept up on you like that, I was too quiet…” Taehyung trailed off, wincing at the pain when he spoke.

“Come with me, let’s see if there’s some ice in the freezer or something,” Jungkook replied apologetically, tugging a surprised Taehyung by the hand to the kitchen, looking in the freezer and cursing when he found it completely empty. He searched some of the kitchen cupboards for hand towels or cloths but was unhappy to see all the cupboards were also empty.

“Don’t worry about me, Jungkook, I’ll be okay,” Taehyung said, watching in puzzlement as Jungkook took his blazer off, folding it neatly and hanging it over one of the kitchen bar stools. Taehyung’s eyes widened in shock when Jungkook began to undo the buttons of his shirt, eventually shrugging it off and folding it up into a pad shape. Taehyung couldn’t stop running his eyes over Jungkook’s muscled torso and arms, a large, intricate tiger tattoo covering one side of his back, the tail curling up onto one side of his neck.

Tiger

He greedily ran his gaze over the muscles in Jungkook's arms and sides, which bunched as he turned the kitchen tap on, soaking his shirt with some cold tap water. He wrung his shirt out slightly, turning and walking towards a wide-eyed Taehyung.

“What are you-?” Taehyung questioned, but was silenced as Jungkook gently pressed the wet shirt pad to his mouth, holding it there while the two men stared at each other.

“I’m sorry, I had to do something, since it was my fault…” Jungkook trailed off, holding the shirt against Taehyung’s mouth with one hand, while he gently rubbed the thumb of his other hand against Taehyung’s cheek. Taehyung subconsciously nuzzled his head towards Jungkook’s hand, enjoying the soothing feeling of Jungkook’s thumb rubbing soft circles on his face. He closed his eyes, a small sigh escaping him. He froze, then opened his eyes when he heard Jungkook chuckle. He looked at the other, to see Jungkook with an adorable bunny-looking grin on his face, completely at odds with the whole bad-boy persona he otherwise portrayed. Taehyung smiled shyly, his lips quirking up in a small grin.

“That- that felt really nice,” Taehyung murmured, feeling embarrassed to admit that to the other man whom he hardly knew. “I think my lip will be okay, Jungkook, I don’t have any more appointments for today anyway.” He pulled Jungkook’s hand and the shirt away from his mouth, gingerly feeling for the lump.

“Let me have a look,” Jungkook said softly, pushing Taehyung’s hand away and stepping closer to him, leaning in to pull gently on his bottom lip so he could see inside. “The swelling looks a bit smaller,” Jungkook said, staring boldly into Taehyung’s still-wide eyes as he gently ran a finger over Taehyung’s plump bottom lip. Taehyung licked his lips, watching in fascination as Jungkook seemingly moved towards him in slow motion, cradling his face in his hands as he moved his face towards Taehyung’s, stopping an inch away from his lips as he stared into the other’s eyes, waiting for permission. Taehyung closed the small gap between them, gently pressing his lips to Jungkook’s in a chaste kiss. They moved their lips against each other’s, Jungkook being the first to pull away. “Does it still hurt?” He asked Taehyung huskily, licking his lips as he stared into Taehyung’s hooded eyes.

“It’s starting to feel a little better now, just a little,” Taehyung murmured, giggling when he saw Jungkook’s lips quirk up in a handsome smirk, then gasped in surprise when Jungkook grabbed him, lifting him up easily and holding him up against his front. “What are you doing?” Taehyung squeaked, surprised at being manhandled yet enjoying it at the same time.

“I think we should move this to somewhere more comfortable,” Jungkook replied, leaning in to kiss Taehyung again, the other man sighing against his lips as Jungkook walked them into a hallway.

“Last door on the right,” Taehyung murmured huskily, tightening his arms around Jungkook’s neck so he could lean in to gently mouth along the shell of Jungkook’s ear, eliciting a low moan from the other. Jungkook managed to open the door, walking them into the bedroom, his eyes widening in surprise on seeing a large king-sized bed in the middle, beautiful furnishings and a large glass wall in front of the bed, showing the landscape of the city spread out before them. Taehyung smiled as he saw Jungkook take in the sight laid out before him.

bedroom

“The views are amazing, aren’t they?” Taehyung said, turning his head to follow the direction of Jungkook’s gaze, which was now aimed towards the large bed behind them.

“I’m sure this bed is amazing too, why don’t we find out?” Jungkook replied huskily, smirking at Taehyung’s ensuing bout of laughter. He flung the other man onto the soft mattress, Taehyung yelping in shock, then freezing when Jungkook jumped on top of the bed, crawling over Taehyung’s body and melding his mouth to Taehyung’s, both men kissing eagerly, licking into each other’s mouths, Taehyung’s hands running up and down Jungkook’s torso, his bare skin hot beneath his long fingers. Jungkook held Taehyung’s face in his hands as his elbows rested on either side of his head, losing himself in the kiss that he had been imagining since earlier that day when he first saw this beautiful man.

“Jungkook?” Taehyung said softly as he pulled away from him, the other man looking down at him questioningly. “I….I’m glad I met you again,” Taehyung said shyly, gazing up at Jungkook adoringly. Jungkook laughed softly, pressing a gentle kiss to Taehyung’s nose.

“Me too, Tae, me too,” he replied tenderly, pressing Taehyung further down into the mattress, their kisses and moans getting louder as they got closer, getting lost in each other’s bodies. Afterwards, as they lay there spent, their skin still sticky from sweat, Jungkook kissed the top of Taehyung’s head, getting the other man’s attention as he traced circles on Jungkook’s chest and abs. “Tae, are you free tomorrow night?”

“Yeah, I think so, why?”

“Do uh, do you want to….go on a date with me?” Jungkook asked Taehyung somewhat nervously, scrunching his nose when Taehyung giggled at him in response. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Jungkook asked him, sounding slightly annoyed.

“You just sounded so cute, Kookie! Yes, of course I’d love to go on a date with you, silly man,” he replied happily, rolling onto Jungkook and kissing him thoroughly for some time. “After everything that’s happened today, did you really think I’d say no?” He laughed again at the look of relief on Jungkook’s face, the other man pulling him down to kiss him again, feeling grateful to have found this man in such an unexpected way.

THE END.
