Author Note:
This story will be a series about the Lovegood family, especially Luna Lovegood and the newest family member, Loper the jarvey. This is my first attempt at writing fanfiction for children and I hope to write a few that read like bedtime stories.

Chapter Text

Once upon a time, there was a little witch named Luna Lovegood. Luna, her mummy, and her daddy lived in a magical house at the edge of an enchanted forest.

Luna loved to play in her parent's garden.

It was a magical garden with magic plants such as flowers, herbs and fruit trees. It was also home to a few magical creatures that felt safe in the kind Lovegood's woodsy backyard. In the garden were fairies, gnomes, bowtruckles and rainbow-butterflies.

This day, during a recess from lessons with her mum, Luna skips happily to the beautiful garden after a stern warning.

That week her parents removed the wards that kept Luna from wandering off.

Mummy said it was too soon, but daddy wanted his Moonbeam to explore, discover and be amazed. As long as Luna didn't wander into the enchanted forest, it was alright.

Daddy trusted that Luna knew the dangers. However, mummy believes that their daughter is still too young to heed where she wandered.

"Stay in the garden, Luna, no wandering," Mummy says, wagging her finger.

"Yes, mummy," the girl replies, skipping away.

It's a beautiful day today. The sun is smiling brightly down on the garden, and the fairies are humming sweet songs that makes the flowers bloom. Under her favourite Dusk Elm tree, Luna sits and waits. The girl does not idle long, the gnomes come out of their holes to begin gathering the potatoes her daddy plants just for them.

Then Luna begins to tell them stories of her quests yesterday and her morning so far. She gets to the part where she almost caught a Wrakspurt in a jar when the Rainbow Butterflies begin to glide and sway with the breeze in a way she's never seen before.

Getting to her feet, smiling, Luna begins following the sweeping dance. Lifting her arms, the little witch waves them slowly side to side. She twirls and sways with the whirling luminous insects in their rainbow hues.

Mesmerized, Luna dances right out of the garden, following the swirling butterflies straight into the enchanted forest.

Notes:

I would really appreciate feedback from anyone who has children between the ages of 3 to 6 years old.

I had been searching for beta readers on Reddit earlier today (17-06-20), and I hadn't published my story on A03 yet, but I did have it on a site where you can read it if you have the link. After a few hours, I realised that people were reading the story and no one had contacted me about helping.

So I apologise if there are 'tonal'? errors (boring, too scary for young children, etc)
