Chapter Text
My name is Midoriya Izuku and I live in a world where roughly 80% of the population develops a "Quirk" or "Meta Ability" (superpower) around the age of 4. The 20% of the world that doesn't get powers develop some sort of visible mark on their body.
The part that really sucks is that quirkless people are deemed "lesser" or "unevolved" compared to the majority of society; as a result, they tend to face oppression constantly. Some hospitals have the right to refuse healthcare to quirkless individuals, there's unfairly calculated statistics about crime among the quirkless, most people are deemed "unintelligent" due to the lack of a quirk, and maybe the worst part- heroes can get away with killing them. Heroes use excuses like, "Oh, they were a civilian in the way", "Oh, they were refusing to cooperate", "Oh, they looked like they matched the description of this person we were looking for", "Oh, well, the skittles/phone/iced tea/hairbrush they were holding looked like a weapon", "Oh, They were wearing a hoodie or going on a run late at night. they seemed kind of suspicious".
Fucked up, I know. Well, like any young kid, I grew up blind to the injustices of the world. I wanted to be a hero. I wanted nothing more than to help people. I wanted to save people with a smile, just like my idol, All Might. If you didn't know, All Might was the Symbol of Peace, and the #1 hero. Everyone loved him- well, everyone who didn't see the reality of the pro-hero system.
Heroes are perfect- saviours of the people. Like guardian angels. Some heroes were actually good people. Such a shame that the system they worked for was so messed up. In this way, all heroes are bastards. And villains . Well, they were monsters of course! And most of them actually were, but some of them saw the light of reality and they did whatever it took to fight against an injustice- the pro-hero system.
Now that you've got a view into my world- let's begin, shall we?
