Story:
The rain fell in sheets outside the 27th Precinct, pounding against the windows like it was trying to drown out the city’s noise. Inside, Van Buren stood over a cluttered desk, eyes sharp as she skimmed through a thick file. Cragen had been reassigned to SVU, and now she was in charge. The pressure wasn’t new, but it still settled heavy on her shoulders.
Lennie Briscoe leant back in his chair. “Got a new case,” he said quietly. “It’s got SVU written all over it.”
Ed Green nodded, pulling the file closer. “Human trafficking. Looks bad.”
Van Buren sighed, pulling out her phone. “I’m calling Benson and Stabler. They need to be in on this.”
Over in the 16th Precinct, Olivia Benson was already listening, her voice steady but with a hint of urgency. “Van Buren, we’ve got a witness tied to a ring bigger than we thought. We need Major Case involved.”
Danny Ross answered the call just as he was wrapping up paperwork. “Alright,” he said, rubbing his eyes. “Eames, Goren—get ready. This just got serious.”
Back at the 27th, Mike Logan grabbed his coat. “Let’s hit the docks. This is where it all starts.”
Briscoe flicked his cigarette ash into the tray. “Looks like this city’s about to get a lot darker.”
Cragen walked into SVU just as Benson and Stabler were briefing the team. “We’re not letting this one go,” he said, determination in his eyes. Dr. Olivet joined in, offering her expertise on the victims.
The precincts were coming together, the DAs gearing up, knowing this case would push them all to the edge. And no one was planning to back down.

Notes:
So I'm hugely expanding the Law & Order Universe. With additions of other series like Benson, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Barney Miller, and L.A. Law. This is because a lot of the actors from these shows have starred on Law & Order in one way or another. So this is my take on how they could be in the same city!
Oh, I've also made some changes to the Banks family, I wanted to use Tatyana Ali in something else in my stories so I'm fancasting Black-ish stars- Miles Brown and Marsai Martin- into the family!

Chapter Text
The courtroom was silent except for the soft shuffle of papers and the steady ticking of the old clock above the judge’s bench. Judge Phillip Banks adjusted his robes and glanced down at the files stacked neatly before him. This was no ordinary day; the big guns from the city’s top law firm, McKenzie & Brackman, were here to present their case.
Ben Stone stood, calm and measured, addressing the judge with quiet confidence. “Your Honor, the evidence clearly shows the defendant’s intent. We have witness testimony, forensic reports, and a timeline that cannot be disputed.”
Paul Robinette followed, his tone sharp but respectful. “The defense will argue intent was not established, but the facts paint a different story.”
Judge Banks listened, his gaze steady behind his glasses. He remembered his years on the bench in Bel-Air, but this courtroom in New York was a new challenge. He had a reputation for fairness, and today, that meant giving these seasoned attorneys their due.
Banks nodded slowly, tapping his gavel once. “Very well. I expect all parties to keep decorum and focus on the facts. This court is here to seek truth, not theatrics.”
The lawyers nodded, returning to their papers as Banks prepared to preside over the day’s proceedings. Outside, the city buzzed with life, but inside, justice was about to take center stage under the steady hand of Judge Phillip Banks.

Notes:
Judge Phillip Banks is now a judge in NYC; however, he lives in a very wealthy NYC neighborhood called Bel-Air {fictional name of neighborhood}. His family: History Professor Vivian Banks (played by Janet Hubert) his wife, their daughter Hillary (Karyn Parsons), their son Carlton (Alfonso Ribeiro), and their twins Nicky (Miles Brown) and Ashley (Marsai Martin). And soon Vivian's nephew Will Smith comes to live with them. {FUN FACT: James Avery was a reocurring Judge on L.A. Law}
L.A. Law will be a placed also in NYC. The law firm McKenzie & Brackman is a one of the few places that have a good standing reputation with the DA's office. {FUN FACT: several actors from this show was on both Law & Order and then on SVU}
Benson will also be placed in New York; however, I'm putting him in Plesantville, New York. {FUN FACT: James Noble was a Judge on Law & Order}
