Chapter 1: one

Chapter Text

namjoon felt physically and mentally exhausted as him and the other six boys piled into the dorms, all them relaxing as they breathed in the familiar scent of home. they had just gotten done with their world tour but had to do just one more concert in korea before going home to relax. they had worked hard as to not disappoint army but all of them definitely overworked themselves.

"home." jimin sighed out, collapsing onto the nearest sofa cushion. "jin hyung, can't we just order food instead?" he asked, not even raising his head up to look at the older who looked at him almost offended.

"you think some fast food is gonna heal your sore muscles? you disgust me." seokjin replied, turning towards the kitchen. "you're just gonna have to wait a little bit so you can go to sleep on a warm and full belly."

"sleeping does sound really nice." jungkook said as he plopped down next to jimin, shortly followed by taehyung who wrapped his entire body around jungkook, basically already asleep. namjoon smiled at them. they had grown so much over the years and he could only compare his pride to having a child of his own.

namjoon stood there awkwardly for a moment, sensing the tension between the other two next to him, probably because of the events that took place just an hour before. he sat down in their black arm chair and grabbed his phone out of his pocket, glancing at yoongi and hoseok who were sitting on the same couch, one on each end. namjoon would of groaned if it wouldn't of drawn any attention to him. they were just like dumb middle schoolers, stealing glances at each other while also trying to look as uninterested as possible. how were they older than him?

it stayed like that for a while: the three youngest dozing off, yoongi and hoseok trying to ignore each other and namjoon scrolling through twitter while the smell of seokjin's meal made them all lick their lips.

"hey guys stop sleeping, dinners almost ready." jin said, poking his head out from the kitchen before his eyes landed on a certain spot next to the front door. "what's that box?" to that namjoon looked over curiously to the place seokjin was eyeing. his brown eyes landed on a small wooden box sitting at the entrance to the living area. the others did the same, even the sleepy younger boys eyes were wide with curiosity.

namjoon was the first to stand and walk over to the box, quickly followed by jungkook, jimin and taehyung. even hobi and yoongi seemed to forget about their little quarrel from earlier and walked over to look at the box. jin was a bit more hesitant thought, looking at the box with suspicion.

"i wouldn't open that if i were you, it could be dangerous." he said, crossing his arms but making his way over anyway. "what if it's like a knife or a blood vile again?"

"i doubt that security would let it get in here if it was dangerous jin." he scoffed before picking up the box to examining it. it was a smooth, dark brown wood painted nicely with green and red stripes. small words were carved in between the lines, making namjoon squint his eyes to read it.

"go back to a simpler time and help the you you hate most, cause if you help them you may be able to boast. they won't remember you at least not with their own eyes, but if they think twice they'll remember your advice. you just need to solve the problems to get back to your own time, and if you could love yourself along the way that would be sublime." namjoon finished reading and looked towards the other members. "ok that's a bit weird but nothing out of the ordinary."

seokjin rolled his eyes and his eyebrows furrowed but didn't say anything. jungkook pushes forward until he was next to namjoon, eyeing the box like it was a juicy meal. "if you don't open it i will, hyung." he said. namjoon shook his head and  pushed the box open with click. all of them looked to see what the contents of the box were but were surprised to see there was nothing in it.

they all sat there in silence for a moment. "well-" namjoon was quickly cut off by a gust of harsh wind. he didn't even have time to wonder why there was wind in the dorms before he felt his body being blown away- or rather sucked towards the box like it was a vacuum. the last thing he heard both hoseok's and jin's screams from behind him before he was thrown into pure blackness. the fear in his chest multiplied by a hundred when he felt sharp air running past his hair and ruffling his clothes. he was falling, he was falling and he was gonna smash to the ground and die. why did he open that stupid box?!

just as he was about to scream he felt his body hit the ground with a loud bang. it hurt but not as much as he thought it would, more like he just fell off a bunk bed. he groaned, hand roaming to the back of his head as he sat up and tried to focus on his surroundings. he was inside a small, dark room but he could make out a few pieces of furniture and the dim outline of an apartment. it was much smaller than the dorms and namjoon's confusion only grew.

"what the fuck?" an oddly familiar voice says from behind him, the crackle in his voice showing he was probably just sleeping. namjoon quickly turned his head, squinting to see where the voice had come from. his eyes landed on seven familiar looking figures who were all sitting on the floor in front of a table like they just finished eating dinner, legs crossed as they looked at namjoon with wide eyes.

"guys?" he mumbled before promptly getting the air knocked out of him by someone landing on him. the person quickly got off of him, patting his back as if that would help him.

"sorry hyung!" jungkook's frantic voice sputtered as he helped the other to his feet before his own eyes fell on the boys namjoon had been looking at before. "who?" he said, his voice trailing off as he realized who they were.

there were another two thuds from behind them and the pair turned to see both yoongi and jimin on the floor in front of them, groaning from the hard impact of the wood floor. jimin rolled into a little ball groaning while yoongi looked angry "what the ever loving fuck-" he growled before being cut off by hoseok's body landing right on him. "jesus christ hoseok!" he gasped out, causing a choked laughter from taehyung who had fallen at the same time as hoseok.

"i'm sorry!" hoseok said, the attitude in his voice as sharp as a knife as he got off of yoongi with a huff, making taehyung laugh again as he also got up. yoongi rolled his eyes, standing up and turning away from hoseok, the latter doing the same. namjoon wanted to roll his eyes too after seeing the argument.

he self consciously counted the members seeing if everyone was there when he realized jin was missing.

until he wasn't.

as soon as namjoon felt seokjin's body collide with his he sighed internally. why were people falling on him so much? so he was sitting there, once again on the ground, supporting seokjin's full weight, feeling a sudden fear deep in his chest. "kim namjoon!" he spat as got off of him, his voice like ice. "i told you not to open that damned box and now look! where are we even?"

"jin hyung," you could hear the tiny bit of fear in namjoon's voice.

"no one ever listens to seokjin though, i mean who would!?"

"hyung."

"no! i'm done being a pushover namjoon!

"seokjin!"

"what?!"

"turn around." namjoon said, pinching the bridge of his nose with his fingers, trying to regain inner peace.

seokjin turned around with a sharp glare but immediately looked taken aback by the figures he saw. namjoon understood why: they looked exactly like them but younger, exactly like them but before they debuted. "h-hello?" the younger namjoon said, bewilderment clear in his voice and face. namjoon could feel himself cringe as he took in his looks, looking towards the other younger members instead.

"nope," seokjin said, pulling out his phone his pocket. "this isn't happening. i'm calling sejin." namjoon wanted to roll his eyes for the one hundredth time that night, seokjin was obviously not realizing the situation at hand; they had gone back in time and were looking at themselves from years ago. "it's not working. why is it not working?!"

"hello, can one of you tell me what year it is? we're really confused right now." namjoon asked gently, ignoring jin's rambling.

the younger versions of them were silent before little hobi spoke up. "2013." he said quietly, making all of the members from namjoon's time stiffen.

"oh my god, is that us from 2013?" hoseok asked suddenly and loudly, sounding genuinely surprised as he stared at the figures, trying to confirm his assumptions.

"you just figured that out?" jimin asked, trying not to laugh at the older boy.

"i honestly have no clue what's going on sometimes." hoseok laughed out, grabbing onto jimin for leverage as he did so.

namjoon sighed. he felt so tired, but he knew he had to try to control the situation, to figure out what the hell was going on before the chaos erupted. "hey guys," namjoon said, turning towards the younger group with a warm smile. "i know this seems very confusing but we're you from the future. if we can all just have a seat we'll explain everything."

the younger group led the way over to the living room that contained two couches and a small, wooden coffee table. namjoon quickly explained everything that happened with the box and how they got sucked in which caused a few gasps and surprised looks from 2013 bts. all except one.

"wait a second. how do we know anything they are saying is for real? last time i checked magic and time travel isn't real." little yoongi said, a stoic yet annoyed expression on his face. namjoon completely understood why he was saying that, he didn't think any of this was possible either. but namjoon didn't really need the little dark haired boys attitude.

apparently the older yoongi didn't need it either. "jesus fucking christ," he said, voice sharper than a knife. "we're just as confused as you are dumb ass, so do us a favor and be quiet." yoongi crossed his arms and leaned back, keeping eye contact with himself until eventually the younger one looked away, crossing his arms as well.

there was an awkward silence for a moment before seokjin eventually broke it. "ok anyway, this was basically all namjoon's fault that we're here." he said giving namjoon a too sweet smile.

"wasn't jungkook the one that pressured him into it?" jimin asked, making jungkook look at him with a betrayed look.

"why are you pinning it on me? i was just trying to get away from hobi hyungs and yoongi hyungs sexual tension!" jungkook said worriedly.

"what?! there's no sexual tension!" hobi gasped.

"you've been ignoring each other ever since the end of the concert."

"no we haven't, you don't know what you're talking about."

"oh right sorry, you've been yelling at each other. my bad."

"jeon jungkook you-"

"enough!" namjoon's voice boomed, feeling done with how immature everyone was acting. "how old are we? we're sitting in front of our younger selves yet we're acting the most immature." his voice was strong and stern as he looked at his other members with disappointment clear in his face. "yes yoongi and hoseok are acting like dumb middle schoolers who just had their first fight but that does not mean that you should bring it up when they obviously don't want to talk about it, jungkook. they are older after all, you and you should show some more respect."

the three members looked down at there feet, as if they'd been scolded by their mom instead of there leader. some more used to being yelled at then others. "damn namjoon, if you hadn't just teleported us to another timeline like a dumb ass, i'd be super turned on." seokjin said, breaking the moment for everyone in the room, causing a few groans.

"ok anyways," namjoon sighed turning back to the younger bts members who had been sitting there awkwardly, sending uncomfortable glances towards each other. "seeing our current situation, would you mind letting us stay with you guys until we figure out how to get back to our own time? i'll personally talk bang pd about everything."

"of course," little namjoon said, voice small and overwhelmed but still holding its natural leader esc tone. "we don't have extra bedrooms though so you'll have to share with us."

jungkook perked up at that. "guys! we can all sleep with our younger selves!"
