Chapter Text

Namjoon was searching for crabs on the beach. He was on break and wanted to unwind for a little so he went to a nearby spot where he could see the crabs he's fond of. It was probably weird for a tall man like him to fancy little things like a hermit crab but since nobody is watching, he didn't hold himself back from playing around the shore to look for his tiny friends.

But they seem to be avoiding him today. He's been around for almost an hour but he was yet to find any crabs or signs of them around. No tiny holes on the sand either.

He sulked, thinking they might have migrated which sound a little absurd but his sulking was cut short when he noticed a shining, shimmering thing half buried under the sand.

The sunlight made it twinkle so Namjoon got curious that he got closer to the item on the sand and grabbed it.

It was a bottle, a transparent one with molds around it. Although it doesn't seem to be an ordinary one, for some reason he finds the bottle a little mysterious.

For an old moldy bottle, it looks fancy despite the dirt that got stuck on it. The cork even has a pink glow that seems to be coming from the inside of the bottle which made him even more curious.

Should he bring this home? But he isn't a trash collector and there's nowhere to put this bottle at home. Why should he bring it?

Namjoon dropped the bottle back on the sand and walked away. He isn't supposed to be picking up moldy stuff but should be playing with crabs instead like he originally planned.

But something inside him made him stop. He went back to pick up the bottle and decided he'll put it on the trash bin instead like any citizen of the country would do. He felt responsible for keeping the place clean and the bottle should be disposed properly.

When he was in front of the trashcan, Namjoon was about to throw it away but something made him stop. A gut feel says he should keep it.

He ended up debating whether he'd throw the bottle away or not that he went for it for five minutes. In the end, the side of him that wants to keep the bottle won and so he brought it home instead. He must really be stupid for wanting to keep an invaluable item like this old bottle.

Instead of thinking things through, Namjoon grabbed a piece of cloth to clean up the molds around it. If was so dirty that the piece of cloth almost turned black from all the cleaning. He can't believe there was more stuff to clean than he thought.

It took him sometime before he finally managed to clean the bottle, the persistent molds finally gone from sight and the inside of it completely seen.

There was nothing inside of it except a smokey pink glow. The glow from the cork must be coming from it. He found it weird but he didn't pay it too much attention. Instead, he was happy with how he managed to completely clean the bottle. He continuously rubbed its smooth glass which made him a little proud of himself. From a moldy glass, it turned out to be a good old bottle display, perfect for his shelf.

But Namjoon was freaked out when the cork suddenly flew open, the bottle was shaking so hard Namjoon had to throw the bottle away in fear. It didn't break as he expected it would but the smokey glow from the glass bottle slowly came out.

In a matter of seconds, his small room was filled with pink light that came out from the bottle and slowly assuming a form which made Namjoon even more spooked.

What the hell is happening?!

The glow finally revealed its form and Namjoon could recognize what it was. It was in a shape of a human being like him. Despite the fear, Namjoon couldn't avert his eyes and watched until the glow completely turned into a human.

Not just a regular one, but a handsome man at that.

"Who are you and why did you disturb my sleep?!" said the man with his fists on his waist like he's scolding Namjoon.

"W-who... w-what are you?!" Namjoon exclaimed. He was stunned at the sudden turn of events but also because of how handsome this man is. He has always had been attracted to both men and women before but so far, this person that came out from the bottle is the most beautiful he's seen.

"Who else?! I'm Jinnie, the genie from that bottle and you should feel my wrath!"

Namjoon felt himself shivering. What has he gotten himself into? No, it's impossible. The man couldn't be from the bottle. He might be hallucinating.

"How did you get in here? This is my house!" he bravely responded. He might be a burglar trying to trick him into thinking he came out from the bottle.

"Didn't you see everything?! I came out from the bottle!"

Jinnie showed Namjoon how he turned back into a smokey form and went in out of the bottle, going back to his human form after. Namjoon held his breathe. This couldn't be real. He must just be imagining things... or maybe he's going crazy.

"H-how..."

Jinnie stomped on his feet in frustration."I don't care whether you believe it or not but you have to pay for what you did. You should have left me alone!"

"Huh? I went on my way to pick up that bottle and cleaned it. I should receive a thank you."

The genie glared at him. "How dare you! You think I would thank you for disturbing me?! I was doing so well sleeping but you had to pick me up and rub my bottle! Now you have to give me three wishes!"

Namjoon couldn't believe it. If he really was a genie shouldn't he be granting him wishes instead? Why is he the one demanding for his wishes to be fulfilled?

"Wasn't I supposed to get 3 wishes? Why am I the one fulfilling your wish?" Namjoon asked in frustration.

The genie smirked, not intimidated even a little. "It was you who woke me up and disrupted my sleep. Why would I grant you wishes?! If you don't, you have to live with me forever!"

Namjoon was right. He must really be going crazy.
